It's time now for our community connection right here on K1. The one you trust, Cress the Cruise, is with you here from the Barnelsville Chamber of Commerce. How you doing? I'm doing good, Tom. How are you doing? Well, I tell you what, I might have to keep roller skates all and to keep up with you guys down there.

The Chamber guy's been so busy. He got a golf thing coming up here in a little bit, but I understand that that's pretty much packed. Yes, that's very true. We have been. We've been very busy, but all good things. Well, one of the good things is a Christmas in theville. Now the folks at the Unity Center said, hey, the ranks coming down to our place. Yes. Where's the rest of Christmas in theville going to reside? Yes. So here's kind of the backstory of that. We have been the Chamber, first of all, just so everybody knows that Christmas in theville is still a chamber event. It is still ran through all the sponsorships. All of that is ran through the chamber. We have been, we are on our 10th year of doing Christmas in theville. I know that it's crazy to think, but this is our 10th year. I was actually there the first year. We started it and a lot has happened in 10 years. One of those things is we've grown. It has grown and it would really outgrow the space down at the chamber. We started thinking of creative ideas on how to grow with it,

grow with the program. The chamber is not getting rid of Christmas in theville. It's still ran through us. We are just partnering with other community leaders to be able to help us run it better. We are going to be moving the rank down to Unity Square and the center is going to be helping the chamber facilitate the day-to-day operations. Nice. Nice. Yes, my staff is very thankful. What's going to reside at the chamber depot? Yes, so the chamber depot is still going to have our 27-foot Christmas tree. We are still going to light up the depot. And even, of course, we have the train. It will still have the Christmas reeds and all of that. Still going to look very much Christmasy down at the depot. We are going to spread it out amongst Bartlesville. Wow, this is going to be nice. Yes, it's going to be great. Now, on opening night, what's the kickoff? Where are we going? We have a lot more possibilities and a lot more opportunities to do really some great things, some grand things at Unity Square.

With the massive stage, with the lighting, with the built-in, a V-system, all of that. So we are really working on some fantastic ideas. To be continued. But, yes, but I don't want to say anything until it's a concrete. But we're opening night. Just go ahead and pencil it in. It's going to be December the 4th. And so we're starting December the 4th. We're going to do a big kickoff opening night down at Unity Square. It's going to be fantastic. Wonderful. There you go. There you go. There's there been a lot of folks going. Well, that's nice. They're moving the ring. Can we still get a picture of the train? Absolutely. So we're just spreading it out. And to be quite honest, I would like to do a little plug here. The ring alone to bring in just the ice ring. I know one of the comments that we hear a lot on Facebook. And I'm sure it's well-meaning. It's going to be bigger. It's going to be larger. And the answer is it's going to stay the exact same size. Just to bring the ice ring in alone is $75,000.

So this isn't so too, too, too, now. In the future, as we keep growing, there is a possibility for us to be able to make the ring larger. Absolutely. But that's just the bare minimum just to bring. That's not electric water. Workers, I mean, all that goes into it to bring Christmas in the ville here to Bartlesville. So we have to be good stewards of our sponsorship money and our partners. And so to answer the question that everyone asks, the ring is going to stay the same size. But there's going to be better parking. There's going to be more things to do down there. And we're still going to have the carriage rides. So it's going to still be fantastic. We're just spreading the love. We're just spreading the love. That's exactly right. That's great. Now, you have a great event that's coming up. I think it's on October 6th. It's called the Hot Topics. Yes. So we have a Hot Topics event here that the Chamber put on. It's a free event for our members. And we partner with Trudy on this one. And then we're also bringing in Grand Mental Health.

And if you would like to register to attend this, I encourage every business owner to attend. It's really a training session on de-escalation when it comes to mental health. And we know that that is running rampant here just in everyday life. And so if we could go ahead and train our workforce on how to de-escalate, instead of react, I think that we're just trying to give the tools to our members on some, and just proactive in a situation that hopefully doesn't happen, but in the event that it does, they're trained. So Grand Mental is going to come out and do a training session with us. That's going to be a truity. But you can go to Bartlesville.com to register. Okay, very good. So once again, folks, we're talking with Trudy Crews. She's president CEO of the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce. We've got a whole new year coming, every boy. What's its start to hit in October? I know. I start sticking. So what are we looking like perhaps maybe a little peek ahead into 20, 20, 70?

You got that crystal ball out yet or everything? You still got to shift up like the snow globe? Well, I do feel like a little bit of a snow globe right now. But yes, we're constantly dreaming and planning and thinking of the future. And there's just so many things that the Chamber has to offer that I think. I think many people do know. Honestly, I think it's easy to say, I don't think people know. Actually, I think they do know because we are in the community constantly and we are talking. But one of the biggest things that we're working on right now as a Chamber is child care. And I mean, I'm in meetings two to three times a week on child care and how we can better it and how we can. Because it's a workforce issue. When we don't have good child care, it affects the workforce here in Bartlesville. And so we're constantly working with different businesses, the child care facilities here in town. I met yesterday with firm foundations. And so there's a lot. You know, we do a lot of the events and the events are great. They're wonderful to network. They're wonderful for people to get their name out. And they do pay the bills.

And that's fantastic. But there's so many things that we do that are intangible. That are a day to day that are so important. Real quick, I do want to make a plug because this event is tomorrow. We want to business after hours. Is it Wesleyan Christian School? So before that, before that left my thought process, I wanted to go ahead and say that, please come out from 4 to 530. That is a free event and that is a networking event that we love here. And it's so well attended and it's wonderful. Come see Wesleyan Christian School, see what they have to offer to her their facilities. It's from 4 to 530 tomorrow. And they just celebrated their 50th anniversary. It was fantastic. We've heard. We went out to the concert. My family and I and it was it was phenomenal. I bet it was. I bet it was. The weather is perfect for it. Yes. And once again folks, if you want to find out everything that's going on at the chamber, you have a couple of calendars on that wonderful website. Bartolomisville.com. That's right. That's it. All you have to remember is Bartolomisville.com.

Man, thanks for all the great work that you do downtown. We're getting the word out. Oh, by the way, I have heard that over the years, Miss Maria with the Come Visit us place down there. Yes. Kind of tracks the folks that come into Christmas. Not really track, but kind of figures out where they're from. But I understand that that little circle is growing. Well, we're really having an impact on a lot of towns. Not only right here in Oklahoma, but also north of the border into Kansas. Absolutely. The majority of our people that visit Christmas in theville on the weekends are from Kansas. That's what I'd be the area. Yep. Yep. So we're bringing tax dollars. We're bringing tourism dollars. So it's just overall benefit. So we're very, very, very excited about our 10th year. But yes, many. And honestly, a lot of people are now coming from a wasso. They'd rather come down to Bartolomisville than to go up to Tulsa. So that's what we want to hear. I like that. You know, there's a wassoans.

They kind of forgot about us for a little bit there. Now we're in the cool place. We're in the cool place. That's right. That's right. All right. I want to thank you for being with us. Alrighty folks. Stress accrues been with us right here with the chamber on K one, the one you trust. This is Steve Kovino from Kovino and Rich. Quick trivia, fellas.
