Welcome to Advent Sports Park at Blue Hawk. Experience World Class Sports facilities, including an ice ring, turf field and state of the art courts. Plus our K-Games laser tag bowling and sports simulators and yes a bar and grill. Advent Health Sports Park at Blue Hawk, where sports and entertainment collide. Everybody, Pete Sweeney's with us, brought to you by our friends at Gan Asphalt and Concrete. One contractor, all things paving is what I'm talking about here. Get your seal coating done. It's going to be turning cool that I can be able to do it. Get on the schedule right now if they aren't already booked up. I should give you a name they're calling Steve. They're already booked up on that, but book it right now, whether it's asphalt concrete, seal coating, striping, you name it. No matter how big a job they've done it, probably done way bigger. It's Gan Asphalt and Concrete for more than 30 years. Locally owned and operated, solving concrete, solving paving problems, solving parking lot problems. In Kansas City, bottom of mind at ganasphalt.com. How's your fantasy team doing, Pete? Which one? The one that you're in the same league with some folks again. I think I'm foreign too in that one. We do like two games a week.
I didn't have a good week last week. I had Devon Hatt actually as one of my stars. Well, you didn't have a good week one or two with him either. Not great, but I did pick up the backup right. So we'll see how he does. Not well. We'll be my guest. Not as well for sure. I'm sure going with the dolphins has been a bang up plan. Yeah. It's a keeper league. So I kept him and now he's on the injured reserve for the rest of the year. Yeah. So you got that going for you, which is nice. Yeah. You bet. Yeah. By the way, just thanks to our friend Pat Macy for stopping by. I always love talking to him. The American Royal is near and dear to my heart. But can you imagine a one they're going to have a one million square foot facility. That is going to be in some way, shape or form. He couldn't say what or where he probably knows right where. But in some way, shape or form kind of sharing the same parking lot as a place that has like the biggest best reputation for tailgating.
Best. I mean, I was it wouldn't tell he started talking. I was thinking about it. Like when we go cover a Super Bowl. Right now, like I mentioned the convention center's one place, but they actually will be able to do like. He wouldn't say it, but I assume that you can do the whole NFL experience and everything will all be able to be all right around the state. And I don't know how many play I don't know. I can't think of one place in the NFL where everything that's going on around it actually happens in anywhere near the stadium. In New Orleans, you're not that far. You can walk to it. But you're at a convention center. There's a couple of hotels and a mall in between you and the superdome. And you know, you know, we're near it in Houston. You know, we're near it in Dallas. Unless they've changed. But you know, you're deaf because there's nothing around. How the Jerry world like they actually will be able to if they do a Super Bowl or frankly, if they do Final Fours and they have all that, they will be able to have everything all right in and around. Yeah, where that building is. I know you go a lot of the time. But you know, for all of the media core, how lucky are we that we get to be like, oh, this Super Bowl setup was a little bit better than this one. But I don't know about Miami.
New Orleans. You know, Pete, I'm I'm old. And so I'm even further to the point where I'm like, I gotta I actually say things like I have to go to the Super Bowl next week. Yeah. And people are like, oh, I go to Super Bowl. I'm like, yeah, that's a week in another city away from your family. Yeah. But it is. We do need to pinch ourselves sometimes. But I just I am like if we fast forward. Five years, we're going to be in 31. Yeah. Well, they'll be playing in a state of the art stadium with the American Royal. All phases of that facility done. It's going to be there's the what is the Mattel the building the Mattel theme park out there. I'm still here. I just want a bigger media room. I mean, that's my main concern at the stage. Cramped in there. A little bit. I just want to be able to move my legs. You like how I took a chair that didn't have anyone behind it. I moved it back to create some leg room today. Listen, your presence in there. Mattel adventure park.
The Mattel adventure park. Yeah. Okay. Lord, I remember that like I literally am I have become that guy because I'm going to be like, that was just a field. And now everything that's out there is unbelievable. Yeah. So anyway, bulging disc. Right. Andy Reid putting it on the record. Bulging disc. Josh Simmons injury is a bulging disc. The good news is he's making progress. Not going to practice today. So I'm going to rule him out for this weekend. Andy will do that later this week. But I'll go ahead and rule him out this weekend. Yeah. But we've talked about this for a while now. It looks like we've now got them on the record on what the injury is. We've I'm sure you have. We've heard this for a while. But no one was willing to go on the record yet. And Andy Reid did it. Let's start there. Why did he do it today? Yeah, I think this particular situation had got to a point of rampant speculation.
Definitely within the city a little bit nationally. You know, you started to see it capturing some attention. And I think it was a record, you know, setting the record straight as to, okay, what exactly is going on. The big problem, you know, with this because it just had a magnifying glass on it. The chiefs are usually pretty quiet about injury details. I mean, this is what Andy Reid's least favorite subject. For whatever reason, he they have the rule, you know, you're not allowed to talk about injured players. This became unique because of the situation last year. I mean, it was a personal leave for family matters shrouded in a bit of mystery. Now there are different stories that have made it their way out there, both on like the reddit and whatever anyone was willing to say last year. And so I think there are a lot of questions that the chirp your fans were bringing up as to is this injury real? Is he there? Is someone and so forth? And it blew up and where to the point of like almost like a high school cafeteria. You were just seeing rumor after rumor. This is it's this. It's that.
And so they finally provided some clarity. I think there's a case to be made that they could have done it at the beginning, but I guess better late than never. And now they're trying to get this player back on the field. I think there's optimism there because they did choose not to put him on injured reserve. Should they have maybe you know I take him at their word. I guess they probably thought he would be backed by now hasn't gone that way obviously, but them continuing not to put him on injured reserve makes you think that they he could be available within the next four weeks and you get the by-week now. And so we'll see. Yeah, I mean, it's just a very unique situation that at least maybe now temporarily can be put to bed just in the fact that you know they confirmed he's there. Patrick Mahalma said as much as well. And and it's just a we'll see situation. You hit on a number of different things there. Let's let's talk about the fact that all the rumors and everything.
Fans have a right to guess and wonder and do it. I would encourage people to I said this in the to open the show that have a code of ethics. Even if you don't have to do it for your job. Like we do. Like I said, like I we've heard about this for a while. I think a number of us around the team that this was the injury, but you have to have somebody go on the record and say. I then I have to go on the record with who what their name is, but they have to say. Yeah, not off the record right on the record that this can go. Fans don't have to wait around for they can speculate anything and I think it's important to have the distinction, but. I understand why fans would question whether or not he's around because of what happened last year. Right. But to say that this is what's going on to me is is reprehensible and whether you can be reprehended reprimanded by your employer or not. You should live your life to a point where. Yeah, I like to think you were at a point that whatever was going on in his family or with him would get garnered some respect. Right. You know, and some decency around it. That being said, I understand why people would wonder. So my next question that is.
Is this the first time that the chief's policy of how they handle injuries beyond what HIPAA allows you to say or not say has somewhat. I don't want to necessarily use the term blown up in their face because it's not as it's not that big a deal. Right. People are speculating on it, but it's not like boy, the team's paralyzed like pat to know where to go. He didn't. You know, it's not like that. But the fact that, you know, I said somebody said, well, this is totally different how they deal with it. It's not. It's exactly how they deal with all of them. Right. Like we find out that it's a shoulder blade and not a shoulder because Steve's Pagnolo slips up and says it. Right. But in the meantime, it's a shoulder. Like they they love this vague not really saying it publicly. What it is. With us have been avoided if they said he's got a herniated disc and what do they gain by not saying it because we know what they've lost here. We know that Andy Reed came out on a mission to say it's a herniated.
Disc or a bulging disc. Excuse me, a bulging disc. He had an agenda for that because he wanted to quiet. I'm with you. He wanted to quiet the fan speculation about it being something different. Right. Well, if he just came out and said what it was initially. Right. Wouldn't that have solved it? Yeah, I think I think so. And I think just considering, you know, now it's become obvious that he was week to week. It's not like he was going to play anytime soon. Like sometimes a player could be. Let's call it limited slash questionable. And I think there is some games. Gamesmanship to that where. All right. You know, let's make something up a Rishi rice, right. Let's say in the issue, whatever. And he may or may play or he may not play. I totally get being completely quiet about it. Let the opponent prepare for more stuff and surprise them if he doesn't play or surprise him if he does play. But yeah, this was very clearly a fairly long term thing where he wasn't going to play for at least a couple of weeks. And I think just given the history of the player and what happened last year. They could have saved a lot of grief if they even care about that of the tweets and the articles and the what's going on as he playing this week. Is he not fans arguing with each other about whether it's their business or not.
So on and so forth. And so yeah, I think this was completely avoidable. If you come out and say it and maybe they should have in retrospect. Expect that this just considering what happened last year. I never standing rule anybody who is employed with the Broncos, Colts, Dolphins or Raiders who felt at any point like he might play this week. Right. Should just be some are early, some are early fired. You're gone. Yeah, I think there are cases where you do it. You think you had a chat. I thought he had go. Yeah, I think there are cases where it makes sense to be vague. You know, from a game. Right. This was not one of the key card with Phyllis. Yeah, I don't. I mean, I get it if that's your policy. I don't know. Maybe maybe the flip side would be well, it gave us the opportunity to now come in and say what it is. Like it gives us a fallback room. It gives us. I don't know. I'm trying to figure out what it is. You game. I assume that's it that they. You know, the long range planning of the Miami Dolphins included well, Josh Simmons might play. You know, but I think as he got to the week of. I think everyone is known just as right now, the Raiders know he is not going to play. Yeah.
You know, now is the charge. Are the chargers first half? Are the chargers first half to the break. Now the chargers if they've got advanced counting or advanced game planning that's going on. They are they're wondering. Right. But you get to week of. You you've pretty much nailed it down. Yeah. And I think that when this all started, they thought he may return by week three or four. Yeah, we talked about that on the right. Like I believe that or they would have put him on I R. I just I think it has been one of these cases. They didn't go. He's going to be out six weeks. Let's not I R. Right. Just for just for shoots and getting. Yeah. Like I. I think they thought he was maybe day to day slash week to week and thought that was a chance. And you might as well keep that player. Up so to speak. Then then throwing him on I R. And then. Maybe he's suddenly ready a week or earlier than you think and you're he's unavailable to you. Now I want to go back and say. The. Not putting him on the I R. It does. We can conclude that this is not come together as fast as they had hoped. Correct. That mean that it's way out of bounds or there's other problems.
But it definitely has not been the best case scenario. No. I asked him about surgery. What did you think about his response to that? Not 100% no. I think they're going to continue to try to get him back on the field. But it wasn't. And it seemed like an optimistic answer. But he didn't 100% shut the door on it. In my opinion, reacting to to your question. You know, it feels very touch and go wait and see. Now. And I think so often we're always seeking like, well, what is the deal? Like what is the definite? How is this definitely going to play out? I'm not sure they know right now. And so, you know, you're demanding these definitive answers. And not you. I'm just saying in general fans. And I'm not sure they really know. You know, it could be very touch and go. I, you know, it could be a pain thing. It could be. You know, how the trainers feel about them and, you know, we'll see. But yeah, I took that away like they are they are optimistic for a return. I would think
ideally if you're the chiefs, which is after the by week. And it didn't seem to me that surgery was 100% rolled out. It doesn't seem like it's going to happen. But I don't think he definitively told you this. This is a no chance for that. Yeah. All right. Um. What do you think of how Khalil Benson has progressed? Or regressed. Yeah, it's a rookie that has been dorted into the starting lineup. And I think from a run blocking standpoint, you know, he's grading slightly above average. The chiefs of obviously not had much of a problem running the football average three games, right? Ken Walker has been fantastic. I think a lot of us do with Walker. But I think the run blocking has been good enough. Pass blocking, you know, he leads the team and in pressures allowed. We saw some verbal frustration from Patrick Mahomes in Miami. I think when you're an undrafted college player and you're thrown into the lineup, thrown into the fire, you're definitely going to take your lumps.
I think if you continue to see progress and improvement, it's fine, right? You don't want to get your quarterback killed, so to speak. And so that as Mahomes said today, the sooner Josh is back, the better. But I think it's workable right now. And clearly Andy Reed seems to think he's the best option. Or I think Jalen Moore would be there. And so I think he thinks he's a better option than more. What is the next option? I think, well, I think the next thing if like Cleal got hurt. Yeah, I think or if he just starts getting blown up. That's yeah, that's the that's a good question. I would imagine you would try more there first and then, you know, bring in one of these guys that are on the roster to the other side. You did make two trades ahead of the season, where you could try one of these guys. The pawn pounds or or a zoo do just depending on who you think is the best fit. But I think there are some options there. As they get used to the playbook in the system and the blocking schemes and so on.
But I would think that but I can't tell you with certainty because they've never really seemed to love more as a left tackle. I would think you would probably slide more to the left side and then put one of those guys on the right. Yeah. Hopefully it didn't come to that. Right. Hopefully we see a bounce back game from him. But past protections been the bigger problem. Yeah. Do you expect Max Crosby to line up opposite him because usually Crosby comes from the other side. No, no. And I because I think because Jalen more is plenty getable. More to come to an uncomfortable side. Yeah. I mean more will get lost in this. But that Crosby versus more matchup is not great. Right. And when you look at who lines up on the other side, which is a coon's and and pay. That's not a great matchup for the chiefs either against Benson. So I, you know, if I'm the Raiders, I continue to have these guys lining up where they line up and you know, let that let let Max Crosby go go be the all pro he is against Jalen more. That's got to be the I mean, whatever they want to do offensively. Okay. First, let's figure out how to avoid these two potential disasters and everything else has to follow that. Right.
Yeah. I think I think this game plan has to look a lot like the week one game plan where you know, you're going to run the football down their throat and get them focused on that. And then that'll open up the play action, which is way up for the chiefs where, you know, you can get some of these looks where Patrick Mahomes has space to work. Talking to Pete Sweeney, we will take a break. We will come back. We will talk some more about the Kansas City Chiefs. We'll talk more about that Raider matchup. What do we expect? What do we see in from Patrick Mahomes? All that coming up next as we talk, Chiefs football with Pete Sweeney's brought to my friends and Gannas on concrete. One contractor. All things parking lots. All right. The Twin Peaks ended the hour answer. Where was the Raiders last road win in the postseason? Well, they lost a grunny here. Yeah, right? Last time they played a playoff game here, they lost, right? Yes. 91. 91. So they have to have had a road win since then.
Am I wrong? Is it go back before that? They not have like a road win since like municipal stadium or something? It's been since then their last road win. Was the 1980 AFC championship game in San Diego? Oh my God. Is that right for 27 since then they have lost at Seattle at Buffalo at Casey at Buffalo at New England at Houston and at Sancy. So they were in Oakland. The first time having not gone to LA and back to Oakland and then to Vegas. Yeah. And there was a team in San Diego. Yeah. It was a city that doesn't even have an NFL team anymore. And there one, two, three moves down the road. Yeah. That was one week after the crazy game in Cleveland. Yeah. The mistake by the lake. By the lake. Right. 88. Mistake by the lake.
San Diego. San Diego. They named it San Diego. The mistake by the way. I really wanted that charger team to I'd love watching them play. I was I was so wanted to go to the Super Bowl. They lost it and they they broke the next year they got frozen out in Cincinnati. They had no shot of that one after playing in Miami the previous week. Where are you born Pete? 1988. I hate you. I was just like, P1 even alive. These games Curtis and I are talking about right now. You're the dragon and the Chinese do you. Oh really? Which is nice. There's been three. I'm I'm I'm too. I'm getting old. Do you fancy yourself as you know kind of a dragon? No. No. Okay. No. It doesn't really fit me. Maybe like a dragon like personality Pete. No. You breathe fire at times. Do you? No. No. No. No. No. I don't. Then what the hell did you bring it up for? Yeah. I don't know. I'm more like a dog. Got some dog in me. Yeah. If it's Chihuahua. Come on. See? I wouldn't say that either. Really? What would you say? What? What? What? If Pete Sweeney were a dog? What breed would that be?
Maybe like a golden doodle. Yeah. Yeah. Fun. Labrador. Fun. Golden. Smart. Yeah. loyal. likes pets. Yeah. Golden do. Golden doodle. Like a brown. Yeah. Like a chocolate golden doodle. Like a grainy. Yeah. All right. Learn something new every day, man. Yeah. Yeah. That was that was a good thing to think about. Yeah. Year of the dragon. The year of the golden doodle. I don't think there is a year of the golden. What are the years? That's rat, right? Like you're I have no idea. I know rat is one of that. That's that's a tough. That's a tough deal. You know what? You know what? Curtis knows of rat. Pete Sweeney right here. Yeah. Look at that. Look at that puppy. I'm cute. Oh, man. What year were you born, Seren? I was born in 1971. What was that? What was that the year of? You know what? You are the middle of the fat ass. You're the metal pig or boy. Metal pig or boy. That's perfect. That kind of fits. Yeah. That what were you? Were you? Were you 1966? 66. You want to know Curtis's? Yeah. What was the year of the fire horse? Oh, fire horse. You looked it up. I always know that. No, you look it up because I did not take. He's right. He's right. It's the fire horse. How do you get the fire horse? And I get the metal pig. How?
How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? What is Kyle? Kyle? What year were you born? What were you? 98. He might be a dragon too. Right? Isn't that? Every 10? No. You're the earth tiger. So Seren definitely has the worst animal. As opposed to the space tiger. Man. The Mars tiger. That's rough. Did I get the short end of the Chinese stick? Earth tiger. Gosh. Metal pig. So I'm like, I'm like the 10 man. But a pig. It says or boar. You see or boar. Take the boar. At least that's a T O R E. I don't know. Oh, well, I'm a word play. I'm a word play. Punch you right in your fire. Pete Sweeney is with us. Brought to you by friends at Family Leisure K 10 and read you online at Family Leisure.com. Pete, what do you think of how Pat's playing? Amazing. Is he? Did you say he was all the way back last week? I can't remember. Yeah, I did. I thought, okay, so I don't need to keep asking. No, I think I had to keep asking Sam and Jeff because they won't admit that he's all the way back.
I mean, I do think they're running things to protect him a little bit. Like I think that's part of the reason you're seeing so much of the the play action. I mean, I'm trying to run and set up the run with Kenneth Walker. So there is that at least half a second threat that every defender has to feel about it. But yeah, I mean, I it's hard not to. I mean, you look at these numbers. They're absurd with the play action and their success and the 10 11 yards per play with the pressure in his face. I mean, I think that's the key right there in the MVP race when it's all said and done. I you know, it's seeming right now that it's probably going to be between Allen and my homes. But I think that's kind of what's right in the world. I think these are definitely the two best quarterbacks in the NFL. And so be good to watch that race. Saw a gift NFL memes you follow NFL memes. Yeah. I saw a scene from super bad. Oh, yeah, I saw this. Yeah, it's it's got Jonah Hill and I forget the other guy's name. Michael Sir, yeah, getting off the bus. And you know, the slow motion walk is there getting off the bus.
Yeah, head of the party and it shows like a chief slow go and a bills logo. And then they look up and coming at him. Is Mcloven. Yeah, it's got like a raiders. The AFC's undefeated teams. It says it shows the two of them. And then here's Mcloven and in the, and a, Jonah Hill just goes, what the. You know, I so perfect. I dressed as Mcloven at a Halloween party last year. I'll show you during the break. Really? Yeah, I did good. Yeah, it came out well. That's fantastic. Yeah. But yeah, that's a good description of these these teams. Do you do right along with cops? No, no, no, I did I did for the costume, make an ID. And I also purchased for the party a bottle of gold slugger. So I went all out. It was good. I'll show you. I'll show you don't break. So what is it this year? Snicker doodle or was it golden doodle? We're traveling on Halloween this year. There's a November first game. So I will be I will be an airplane.
Well, you can dress as a plane. No, I'll be as you know, I'll be in a sweatshirt and probably some some jeans that are comfortable. Nothing, nothing better than you in costumes sitting in between the middle seat between Vahey and McDowell. No, there's nothing like that. It's just there's so much wisdom on both sides of me. It's like a wisdom sandwich. By the way, when you guys travel with all four and Blair's on there too, like this. I see you three you in the, you know, the biatch seat in between those two. And then I've got so Blair drives. I see Blair rolling like back of the plane without you fellas like. Purposely getting his seat elsewhere. You're talking in the airplane. Yeah. Well, these guys have been traveling for a long time. I joined the star last year. And so I would have to cover the away games from home. So they have a lot more points than I do. So forever on the same plane. They're usually ahead of me. They look back. Yeah. Then when you get on site, B layers. You know, he's rocking the wheel. I do have to say something. Like I wasn't thinking like row 22 going to Miami either going there or coming back.
Someone got up like from the back and was trying to like exit before me. And I was just like, man. Did you get out of the air playing etiquette? No, I just, you know, I can't, I'm on a work trip. I can't fight anyone. But I think if I was like on a personal trip, I would have been like, dude, wait. Oh, yeah. You've ever had those issues with like, oh, I think people get up. Yeah, blew out my cap. Yeah, getting out of the way for some stupid ass. Decided to get to go now. You're two. One row at a time. I mean, everyone know that there are two things that no matter how many opportunities there are to understand them. We don't understand that in the zipper merge. Yeah, those two are the, it's every. Do you do? Are you one of these that thinks everybody should get over into the leave one lane open for six miles instead of occupying it and doing a zipper merge at the time? No, I think that's a Kansas City thing. There's a couple Kansas City driving things that I've noticed since I've been here a long time. So I'm basically a Kansas City and but different. Like, you know, everyone kind of just tries to go in the left lane, which is crazy. It goes like right up here, just up the street at us.
One hundred and nineteen and met cafe. I'm trying to get on to blue every time there's the left lane is full. The right lane. There's nobody in it. And if you try to get up there, hey, what are you trying to do? The one Kansas City thing I know that was different from growing up on the East Coast that drives me insane. Listen, it's, it's norm here is like when you're waiting to turn left. Let's just say that and like you're waiting at a, at an arrow or it's like a, it's out onto a street like what come on? Come on. You have the green light, right? And you're waiting in the turn line. You got your, your blinker on your and you're watching the cars pass. So you have a green arrow or no, you got a blinking. No, you have like a blinking yellow or it's green and you're waiting. In Kansas City for some reason, if you have, if there's like one car length, the person's like, now I'm going and the other person has to like slam on their brakes. We're in like New York. Or you know, East Coast. It feels like they wait. Well, you've lost your mind. I, you, New York is the home of the New York left when the arrow turns you go first. No, I never do that. Well, that's New York. I learned it there. And I'll do it. You hesitate. I'll take it. Yeah. That's a scary thing to do.
But yeah, I'm like, I always have to like slam on my brakes. It's like, no, you're going to stop for me or I go instead of just like waiting until it's safe. But it is what it is. I had a spiel. I was working with a guy on ESPN one morning and, uh, ESPN radio and, and he's from Miami and he's talking about how like, you don't honk at anybody. Like, you get shot. Yeah, I don't know. I'm like, you have, you live a sheltered life, man. Like, you know, have you ever been to New York? Like, see, like, this is why I'm not a dragon. I don't beep. I don't beep. I don't really get mad. I go slow. The golden, very golden doodle in me. Really? I don't deserve the dragon. I think you're more of a pus. Maybe I just want to survive the trip. You know, that's my goal. Yeah, just want to survive it. Uh, okay. So Pat's all the way back. Yeah. Yeah. Back to football. Pete's not hawking. No. Yeah. I mean, I just think he's playing at an MVP. Looks like 22. And you know, it's for these. These picks were making in the games. Like, there was a time where you'd pick the game. And unless the quarterback was as good as Pat, there's just no way you could pick the other team. I think we're back to that. Like, I, I won't pick against the chiefs until they see a Josh Allen or someone in the top five at Lamar Jackson. Because you don't know.
I don't see the path the victory for the Raiders. No, I do. I mean, if the chiefs turn the football over like the Saints did last week, I think they turned it over four times in the fourth quarter. You know, you can lose to anyone, but just for me. Haven't done that in you. Yeah, if they play clean and there's no injuries, we really think her cousins is beating the homes the way he's playing. I just, I just think we're back to that. We haven't like been there and it feels like a while. Maybe since before like the 24 season, because I know they went all the way to Super Bowl, but they were playing close games. You know, you can make a case for a grinded out team to knock off the chiefs. I just think they're back to it. I think they're back to the place where my homes is not going to let that happen so long they play clean. Yeah. What do you think the Raiders are? I think they're interesting. They remind me a little bit of the the Minnesota Vikings cousins teams. I think they're going to be right there pushing for the postseason at the end. You know, eight and eight is maybe needing a win to get in that six, seven seed. They should have lost last week. I mean, they needed all those turnover. That's not going to happen every week. So they should probably be two and one. One and eight. They're opponents. I had a Raiders fan. Friend of mine.
He heard me on Monday say, well, we'll find out if the Raiders are for real this week. And he took that and said, why don't you think they're for real? So I said, we'll find out. Right. I said, it's like still in a no, but but here's some evidence. The three opponents of the Raiders are collectively one and eight. Yes, the Raiders gave them three of those losses. So even when they don't play the Raiders, they're one and five. Yeah. So there's your evidence. If I wanted to say the Raiders are one and eight, I don't know. Raiders aren't real. I have strong evidence to say that the Raiders aren't real. Now, if the Raiders slap the chiefs and beat them, they've beaten who was put in front of them. And they will have proven that they're either not real, but had a day or they've proven they're real if they beat the chiefs. Yeah. I, I'm with you. I mean, if they're and that's that's something that's important to this game. This is the most important game. You know, maybe like 10,
15 years of regular season game for the Raiders, you know, they made the playoffs those one or two years. They can really alter their franchise path a little bit if they're able to get this one. I just, I don't see it. I'm with you. I mean, but, but I do think they have. Look, seven teams makes the playoffs. Each conference now, they have a chance to make the postseason, you know, but it's going to be in that. Six seed ceiling, in my opinion, and or maybe they sneak in as a seventh, that type of thing. They may miss. They may, they may just miss as well. But that's okay. I think it's going to be a great time for them right now because they do have that quarterback in the future in place. Do you you said as long as the chiefs have Patrick homes, you're probably going to be picking the chiefs, which I think is sound reason and logic behind it. You know, their efficiency numbers, even though they didn't pile up as many yards, but their efficiency numbers against the dolphins were very high. They're very highly efficient. They if they don't, if they convert, let's bet away to put this if they don't instead of saying if they don't not convert.
And then what do you think they're going to do? I think they're going to score. Do you think that game gets away from the dolphins in it? It's a route or do you think they still grind around in there? I think it gets to be around. I do. I think the finals more than 31 10. The reason why it was so, you know, when I watched it back, the reason why it felt so messy and clunky clunky is because of the situational football. You know, I think in certain moments, the chiefs just didn't convert. And that let it to like hanging the balance in the fourth quarter. I mean, I really saw the dolphins being able to push through. But yeah, I mean, it should have been more scores than it even turned out to be, you know, especially when HN going down in the first quarter, you would have thought that the chiefs would have won my 21 after that. All right, let's talk about the chiefs defense. We'll do that here with Pete Sweeney's brought to you by our friends at Family Leisure. Find him online at family leisure.com. We got a big clear it's going on right now. It's where family and fun come together hot tub spas pool tables, poker tables, mentioned 810 save even more.
When you go to family leisure right there at Kate 10 and Ridgeview, we're talking to Pete Sweeney here in the program. Proceed by our friends at Family Leisure. Oh, yeah. By the way, are you going to get a shuffleboard? I'm decent at shuffleboard. Really? Yeah. I'm terrible. But I love I would love to have a shuffleboard table and get good at it. All right, let's do it. My fantasy league, we do the Booger League. Our friend Tim has a shuffleboard table and they all play shuffleboard. And every now and then I get roped into donating 10 or 20 bucks. Right. Getting my ass handed to me and that. I like the idea of playing it, but I'm terrible. And I can't figure out how to make space. Because they've got a beautiful one of family leisure. And I can't figure out a place to put it. So I mean, the backyard. I'm just trying. It doesn't work. But you can't have it out in the rain. It's dark. What are you ridiculous? I'll start it up. This is this with a dragon thinks of. Let's start it up. A couple of boulders that stays in the wind. Let me get to go.
Start it up. What an idiot. Top it up, Dan. Top it up. You get a bachie court. The guy who won't take a left when there's plenty of space. What am I listening to you for? Get spun around. Just crash. Just top it up. Just throw a top over it. That's right. All right. Look it. There you go. How concerned should we be with the chief's defense? No sacks two weeks in a row. I don't like it. I don't like it. You would. Thanks. You would have thought that. You would have thought that the infusion of talent and the draft. Would it would be playing out by now now? The good part of this problem is that they are rookies. And you know, sometimes you'd see. Reenimative improvement by the mid to the end of the year in rookies. So I think you got to hold out that hope that you know that that it comes to them eventually. But yeah, you would have. Have liked to see them at least get one sack last week, especially against a player who had been sacked the league leading nine times coming into the game. Would it help if. Steve Spegnolo started the guys who can cover. And the second area as opposed to the guy who's struggling to cover people. You know what I mean? Like play no Williams.
And don't start. Legerius need. Right. Right. Yeah, I mean it great. Grays wise. They're playing the fourth corner back amongst them right now. I know that. It's been circulating this morning. I actually wrote about. It's need. Last week, getting into the game. He had allowed 18 of 21 targets. A little bit better this past week, two of four. But Steve Spegnolo seems to be married to legiorius need at the stage. I think he's a gamer. They manage his injury. Still run him out there. But yeah, I think there's a real valid case to be made that he shouldn't be on the field only for for injury. Sam McDonnell reminded us yesterday that you know, legiorius need to have the single biggest play of the game. 100% enforcing the fumble. My point is not to say that there's not a place on this team for legiorius need. I think that place is called safety personally. But you know, he's he. He doesn't care if you. I don't know that I don't need to overstate it. He puts a higher priority on being in the right place than.
Being able to knock the ball away. Yeah, and and Snead, you know, two is credit is one of the more willing tacklers. Tell us that are on on the team. It's not a dislike of legiorius need. It's just like. Yeah. They appear by all unbiased grading to have better options. And he's not choosing them. I think they're, you know, basically because I again, I dug into this ahead of the game last week. I talked to legiorius in the locker room. I talked to a little Gilman and everyone seemed to be on board with giving him a little bit of time to settle in. And I, you know, we are still only three games into a very young season. And so maybe they're holding that hope that he can play better. I don't think. Optimistically, I don't think that they would continue to run him out. Let's say like by week eight or week nine. If it became clear that he was liability. By the way, I just get a text. Oh, no. It asked asked a question. Oh goodness. I saw you laughing while I was I was like, I don't think I'm saying anything that funny, but I just thought it comes in midstream.
Has Pete told you how much better I am at fantasy football than he is. See, that's. That's a friend I have to get out of my circle somehow. Yeah. I mean, there are certain friends who just like I got to figure out how to move on from this relationship. And he's certainly one of them. It is just so dryly just sliding in right right in the middle of you talking. Boom, it comes right across the timing. I finished in the final four last year. Got up, got upset and semi final that lake. So I mean, all right. Listen. All right. There's no fourth place ribbons. No, no, they're not, they're not having it. They're not having those out. Chamari Conner is going to be back. I think that's big. Why? Chamari Conner is the player that chief fans loved to hate. And now all chiefs fans like, well, at least they're getting Connor back. Well, make up your mind, people. I think I think the and this was valid too. Like I think the problem that chiefs fans had was they were running him in the slot. And now he's going to be more traditional safety, which is he, which is a much better fit.
Do we do we know? I mean, I don't think I don't think you're going to get to the end of the game. And he's going to have no slot snaps. But I think he'll be primarily, you know, in that safety role. Yeah. I do. Did you think Lajaria needed to be starting over no Williams? No. And that shouldn't, you know, that shouldn't be the case. Yeah. So. But look, I don't make the calls, you know, that's that's that's the three times. Are you going to hold these spec? Or just feet to the fire tomorrow at the press conference? I will do it in in in my, my own sticker doodle way way. Yeah. I've a way of doing doodle per. I think there's a way to ask a tough question without having you know, it's be cold. The sound like it. Yeah. That we call that we call that we call that nuance. Golden doodle nuance. Yeah. Yeah. Guys love it. Zetty, but when is somebody in this town? It'll hold it. He reads feet to the fire. Wait a minute. The guy's one three championships. You want his feet held in the fire. Okay.
He's got to go. Okay. And what do you get those emails? Yeah. Yeah. I get I probably get those emails. I don't read my emails anymore. But I've read mail since I get emails. I go eight. I get tweets like a telephone tote. I hours was a phone call. Seren from George and Miami. I still have it saved. The best was on. I I'm doing all right. I have 73,600 and eight unopened emails right now. That's nice. I'll get to that this weekend. My big moment for ridicule this two years so far has been I came on here on Labor Day. Trying to have a nice Labor Day. I did Nate a favor came on here and I said, yeah, I don't think Josh Simmons is starting week one. And then I got Twitter notification after Twitter notification after Twitter and then somehow it ended up on Fox. And then I was like, yeah, I just I was just telling you what I think. I don't think he's going to play and then lo and behold. There it was. Khalil Benson left and Jalen Moore at right. So, hmm, whatever.
What? So what is it? What is it? What is it? You said here that that's like what have you said today that you're comparing that to? No, I know I'm just saying the notifications. I you know, I spent my Labor Day when my phone going off essentially and I was like turn that off. Yeah, I did. I did. I was, you know, I had to go get a Mick Ultra. So before that, I showed off the notifications. Final, final score. I think I'm going to go with 27, 20 of this one feels right. I think the Raiders have a. Have a nice way to exploit the Chiefs with Brock. They'll get some points in this game, but I think the Chiefs ultimately will. Yeah. 27, 20, 27, 20. Is it 27, 17? It becomes 27, 20? Or is it 20 all in the Chiefs punch one in? I think they trade blows in in the first half. And maybe it's a one score game in the first half and then you see the Chiefs kind of take control in the third quarter. Okay. All right. Pete, excellent work. All right. Appreciate it. Look forward to you holding feet tomorrow. That's right. That'll be great. Pete Sweeney.
Watchdog from the Kansas City Star. Golden. Doodle. Thank you. Bye. I'm Marcus Allen is the Raiders career rushing leader who second on that list brought to you by LaFena Delicateson.
