Well, what a play, what a drive, and what an awesome outcome of that football game. Yesterday, good morning. Wonderful to be with you, Jettakamer, John Richey on this Monday morning, after the birds, they pulled it out and they pulled it out in phenomenal faction. Jalen Hertz just sensational. And this final two minutes driving them down the field. Obviously, we've got an awful lot to get into a game that was way closer than I think most of us expected it to be. And they did almost lose, but they did not Jalen putting on his John Wayne cape yesterday and pulling it out for the Eagles. Big credit obviously to Davante Smith to Wix. Look, a lot to do. We'll do it with you on the phone lines. 215-5929494. We'll dabble in the fills. Obviously, they're coming down the stretch, frustrating weekend, split up in New York two and two. Just not great, but look, they're going to make the playoffs,

but they're shaky right now. All of it's on the table at 215-5929494, Richey Rich. Good morning. Hello, Joe. Hello there, Johnny. A team of researchers led by Jose Maria Gomez studied the murderous tendencies of 1,024 different species of animals. And? Humans included. Well, I would hope so. Humans, humans, human deaths result 0.8% of the time because of other humans, murdering other humans. We murder our fellow humans. Because we're annoyed at the 0.8% of the time. For a variety of reasons, I'm sure. Lot of reasons, I'm sure. Mircats are number one on the list of mammals for murderous tendencies. And? Mircats murder 20% of their deaths are due to murder. Yeah, that's not so good. A murder by a mere cat.

I don't like that. They're awful. I also didn't like John the Degles defense didn't get a turn every yesterday. Well, but let me tell you something. It was a really, really rough time for the defense. It was. Which was a shocker. It was like, if you had told anybody before the game, so guys, there's a million things to get to. Let me just start with this. If you told anybody before the game, one team that has Jalen Hertz a quarterback is going to turn it over twice. And the other team that has probably a bottom five quarter back amongst all starters and portfolios, not going to turn it over, you'd be stunned. So look, the irony to the whole thing is Jalen had the two turnovers, but otherwise played awesome, awesome. And it was really frustrated with Degles defense that I thought they look. The two turnovers obviously kept Tennessee in the game. Tennessee not turning it over. IE the Eagles defense not getting a turnover. kept Tennessee in the game, but they found a way to pull it out. And it was primarily Jalen Hertz for the second straight week. And absolutely awesome performance by Jalen. And we can't like gloss over the turnovers

because that was a big part of it. But he was otherwise awesome. And he was obviously at his best at the end of the game when they needed him. Here were the circumstances. And I think everyone knows with just three mind, you 156 to go, you're getting the ball back, you're down, you started the 35 yard line. And when all was set in Don John, that thing went nine plays 65 yards, a minute and 47 seconds, two big third down conversions. And then ultimately that touched on a Cooper to win the game. That final drive was awesome. Special man. But at the same time, I found myself a little bit frustrated when it was all said and done thinking, why couldn't we have that urgency previously? You know, offensively speaking, defensively as well. The defense wore down. I thought that in the heat, our roster depth would prove to be helpful. Did it? No. I don't know what gives here. It was almost like the team showed up

just expecting to take the field and automatically be gifted a win. That's not how it works in the NFL. And this game proved it yesterday. There are a lot of things wrong. A lot of things that need to be, you know, painted over, brushed up. And a huge factor to me was you lose sake one on the first time he carries the football. And then, you know, he goes into the locker room, comes back with one of those crazy cowboy collars on, which makes it impossible to move. I don't know. I'm sure most people haven't tried to wear one of those underneath their shoulder bass. I have never. I mean, it prevents you from moving your head, you know, which helps with the burner thing. But man, you can't move otherwise. There's no, you can't be an athlete while you're wearing a cowboy collar. So I knew we were in trouble when he showed back up with that thing on. We ended up with 32 rush attempts for 89 yards

on the day. Two, what is that? 2.8, 2.8. Do you put that more in the line though? Yes. I'm saying, the, oh line, the offense, it's, it's, it's everyone pitching in, trying to make it work. That is not anywhere close to good enough. But the fact that we turned it over twice and we still outpossessed the Titans by 13 minutes, that's incredible. You know, I don't know exactly what that speaks to other than we're a lot better team than they are. We didn't play that way yesterday, but we were still, you know, able to eat that thing out. Other things that, you know, can't be sustained, Devante was basically the offense when it mattered. You know, Devante Smith, 13 targets. 13 targets. That's a robust number there. And basically, Jalen trusted him. Jalen knew he was down a couple major players.

Think about it. Yesterday, we were missing two of our top three weapons. They caught and got it. Yeah. That's right. And so Devante picked up the slack. I would have liked to have seen other guys pick up the slack a little bit more. I mean, do you think Wix did a bit? Derrius Cooper had the big play. Of course, yeah. Devante, sorry, Don Tavian Wix was the receiving core picked up slack. The receiving core did a nice job. Yeah. The receiving core, they're running routes that time up nicely with Jalen. Jalen looked very confident and very in command. He did. When he was dropping back, everything was timing up well. So that bodes well, moving forward. But the run game, the offensive line play man. Now, you know, we understand they chose to move two guys instead of just substituting one guy at left guard. Right. You know, you move your center to left guard, a position he's never played before.

He was our right guard when a rookie did a nice job at right guard. I thought, but, you know, Drew Kendall moved to center. That does, that affects more than you initially expect because I don't know who's making those calls. I'm assuming it's Drew Kendall now. So all the calls, the communication is being managed by a different guy. You've got two new offensive linemen in different positions. And then you are short, you're tight end, and you're 2000 yard running back. I guess in some respects, it's no wonder the protection was breaking down. It's no wonder we were two point whatever yards per carry. At least we tried to carry it 32 times. Right. I appreciate that part. But man, it was, it was a slog. So it was a slog and obviously we'll take your calls to 215-59294-94, but it was also an exhilarating end.

And I got to tell you, for me, the first two games, obviously this includes yesterday have been much more encouraging than discouraging. So a couple of things. Jalen is doing a great job. I mean, again, I can't just gloss over two interceptions, but I know this aside from those two, I thought he played superb. I mean, in the first half, I thought it was one of the, and it's hard to remember all the games. We're six years into his career now, seven, whatever it is. I thought the first half aside from the interception was a top five half he's ever played. I mean, I thought he was awesome. I mean, the first three jobs, they went all the way down the field. Our interception ball comes back. And that interception, they go all the way down the field again. That interception, when I look at that on tape, you got trips to the right, you know, a bunch formation. Mackay Lemon is the inside guy. Mackay Lemon is free releasing to the flat. Mackay Lemon was open.

He was open quickly. He was open fast. It was always my experience. If that flat is there, you take it. I was surprised that Jalen didn't, and I wondered if it had to do with trust. I wondered if it had to do with no reps during camp. Yeah, it could be that or more, but I know this. I'm really encouraged with what I'm seeing from Jalen Hertz. Because he's been outstanding. And he has that. Those worries that you were expressing, all obviously, and can he handle this? I think it's clear he's still. Yeah, he's still in great with that. Handled this. And one of the realities that we all say came to expect. Let's use that word expect is that there would be more interceptions this year, particularly early than last year. It actually happened yesterday. But here's the deal. They won anyway. So you stack a win. Now look, is it a pretty win against the team in Tennessee that maybe has top bottom five and football, not exactly a pretty win. Is it an exhilarating win for me?

Yeah. On a lot of levels. First off, they win a game of nine seconds to go. Second, they win a game through tremendous adversity. Third, they win a game when, I mean, just to put it bluntly, with 20 seconds to go, we didn't know if they're going to win. So like, I'm pretty fricking pumped up. But I do understand, obviously, look, there were three main negatives in the game as I saw it. One, the O line play. It might be a new world order. I mean, they just might not be what they used to be up front. We'll see over time, but the early indications are they do not look like what we've been accustomed to the last 10 years up front. That's number one. Two, Jalen, had the two interceptions that really set them back. That took what otherwise I felt like could have been a blowout win and made it a close game. And then three, I was most disappointed yesterday in the defense. I mean, Cam Ward and his note turnovers. So Cam Ward was talking trash out there. He was. He was. I just wanted someone to set him straight. So it was the young buck. It was an odd game.

It was just a very odd game. But they did what with Nick and Jalen, they typically do. They won the fricking game. Look, I give him big credit for gotten that thing out. 215-59294. And they pulled it out. Look, we got not one but two Twitter poll questions of the day that are very similar in nature.

And matter of fact, one of them is the exact same question that we asked Monday and last week. Anyway, Twitter poll questions brought to us by Armin Chevrolet. Available now. Armin is offering zero percent financing for 60 months on all new light duty Silverado's visit. Armin Chevy.com. The first question is, which emotion did you feel more after the Eagles game yesterday? Was it a-exileration or b-releaf? The second poll question. And again, this is where it's sort of similar nature to that question. What stood out to you more from yesterday's Eagles game? The positives were the negatives. You can't get voting at sports radio at WIP on Twitter. While we want to hear from all of you, we especially want to hear those of you that were at the game yesterday, which of course were many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many thousands of Eagles fans. Now, I know it's early in the day. On a Monday morning after you were there, potentially partying Sunday in Tennessee. But if you were there, talk to us because really want to hear from you, 215-592-94-94. Rhea, what stood out to you the most

with yesterday's win? Well, obviously the way Jaylen played down the stretch. I agree. I mean, it was- And what I kept going back to was this notion that Jaylen has been carried by an elite team. Guys, I had all this talent around. I mean, he's just sitting in the sidecar. Well, that wasn't the case. I mean, it's not- Not at all the case, yeah. Offensive line was terrible. The running game, I don't understand the first and second down runs. They kept putting him in a position where he had to like deliver on long-throwed downs. So I didn't like the play-calling on that. But what he did on that final drive was just- It was incredibly impressive. It was heroic. Yeah. I mean, it really was- It was heroic, because what it was. Let's listen to the montage of how it sounded yesterday here on WIP. By the way, James, one of the thousands that was in Tennessee yesterday. Somebody's still giving him oxygen. I would think. James will be back with us tomorrow. Lewis Cook, Lewis, how are you, bud? Doing really well after, to your point, and exhilarating. Right. Eagles win, like.

Is that the one that hits you more than relief? No, I think I'm still a little worried. I'm still just a little worried. There were some things I didn't like that I saw. There was a lot of things. But it's exciting. Yeah, sure. I mean, if you think about it to re- to your point about Jalen, think about what he didn't have compared to prior years. Correct. Here we go, prior years. He didn't have a good offensive line. He didn't have sake one. He didn't have got it. He didn't have AJ Brown. Yeah. Oh, you know what I mean? That's a good point. That's a very good point. That's a lot compared to past years now. They're facing a crummy team. It was a close game. Let's listen to how it sounded yesterday. Marilyn Mike on the call, as always, here on WIP. Marilyn's first game after Marilyn Live, which was last week. Let's listen to how it sounded. Marilyn Reese, that Mike Quick saying, hello from the music city. The Eagles meet the O1 Tennessee Titans. Third goal. Merch. He fired. Intercepted. Down the air sign line.

Going across the 30, 2015, 10, 5, it's Walker. 90 yards. Under center. They sneak at the rim. Tennessee takes the lead. Takes it. Gets it off inside. He gets it to Bigfoot, and he's through for the touchdown. Hurts. Falling for the football. He's back. He is firing. Complete. Touchdown. Many done five days. Smith. 22 yards. 37 yard attempt was signed. Spotted. Pick up. And it is good. That's the end of the first half with the score. The Eagles 14. The Titans 10. Born. And he is grabbed. And he tries to go outside. And it diving is hard. Word fake. The ball took off and ran to the corner of the end zone. And diving behind the inside. The pilot. It's good. Hurts. He's back. He is looking for the bomb. Thanks. And it's intercepted. Intercepted at the 18 yard line.

The second intercepted to the game. 32. Born. Takes the slam. He gets it off the spear. And spears runs to the outside. And cuts back. Has the first down. He picks up the first down on the ground. All the spotting. The kick is up. And the kick is good. The Titans for the first time today. Have a lead. 20 to 17. 156. Remaining in the game. The Eagles are without timeouts. The Eagles must at least get it to position for a Jake Elliott field goal to send it to overtime. Hurts is back again. Here comes the rush. He steps up. He lets it fly. Leaping reception down at the 40 by Wix. There's life. There's life. Hurts. Lies them up again. He's back. He's looking. He steps up. He is firing. Complete. The one day Smith inside the fire. It comes back with the ball.

Boat is the one they spin. Hurts his back. Here comes the run. He fires. Takes down. Darryus Cooper. What a drive. And there are nine seconds left. The Eagles escape. The Eagles escape. A brilliant. Come from behind. Final minute. Burrs win it. 24 to 20. They save a tremendous disappointment. And their fans in mass at the stadium can go home happy. And they can call WNP right now. Let's go to the phones. 215-592-94-94 to react to it. All Eagles, one of the relatively few teams to an own. Pro football. Let's kick it off with Big Skillet. Big Skillet. Good morning, bud. Hey, good morning. I like your name, Big Skillet. Yeah, man, I got that from co-workers, man. Because I'm the guy who like to cook. Oh, nice. Nice. I like to eat.

Yeah. And they got that off the Big Skillet. Big Skillet was off of... What was that movie? Was it... I think it was a Blackula. I don't know. Wow, yeah. It was a guy named Big Skillet on Blackula. OK. And I think that's where I got that name from. Excellent. Now, would you be cool with lending the name Big Skillet that Jalen hurts after a big performance yesterday skillet? Oh, yeah. He can all day long. All day long. All day long. Whitching wearing the number one. He deserves that number. Yeah. Yeah, he does. He does, especially that. I mean, in that heat yesterday was just, and it was ridiculous. Well, it clearly played a factor. I was surprising. 157 per the sideline reporter. Like, that sounds like... That's got to be like a new record, right? So I used to hear it. 157. So Dutch used to tell me that at the vet, and this obviously was, you know, he was playing in the 90s and the 80s, he used to tell me on a hot Sunday,

or day game during the week, it would get to 160 on the turf. Wow. And I remember he told me three things in particular that always stood out to me. One, he said his feet would burn so much that he would have to come in after the defensive inning and put his feet right into a bucket of ice. Wow. Every inning. Two, he would tell me there were times he had to go talk to the pitcher because he needed a break. And people would think, well, what's the pitcher doing wrong? And it's like, no, he actually just needed to breathe instead of like passing out. He said a couple times he came really close to passing out. And he said third for a, for a catcher because you're squatting down. You're putting the weight on it more. Well, you're closer to the heat. Oh, yeah. Like your face is like three feet above the ground instead of six feet above the ground. So they were spraying the cleats down. I mean, skillet, that was, look, it was tough for both teams. That was legit, but Eagles gutted it out. So wait, were you there? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was there. I was there. I was up there day of the vet tips. They gave out some tickets to, I think it was like 500 tickets to veterans.

Okay. And I put in short, and I was able to get to my first Eagles game. Well, thank you for your service, man. Yeah, thank you. That's very, very cool skillet calls. Oh, you're welcome. It was a honor. Call us again when you can't appreciate that, man. 215-592-94-94. All right, coming up more from the weekend beyond just the Eagles, because there was also frustrating Philly series. I guess that's one word we can use. We'll get to that and more. Phone calls, audio, some of what hurts it after the game. We'll get to it all. Joe DeCamer and John Richey. It's 94 WIP. There we go. Same great sound, expertly tuned, astonishingly clear. It's not magic, but it's not not magic. For obviously positive, it's the negatives to say the least in that game. Biggest issue for the season negative is definitely the offense line so far. Biggest issue in my opinion within yesterday's game that was negative, John, I was just stunned they didn't take the ball away from Tennessee. I just, like I said before, I said on Friday that there was, I saw almost no way for the Eagles to lose this game if they turned it over. Excuse me, if they didn't turn it over. And of course Eagles turned it over twice, but part of what I thought went with it was they would take it from Tennessee. And they did. And the past rush didn't get home very much. The past rush is not getting home. No. I mean, the first two weeks it has been, I don't want to say poor. It's been extremely lackluster.

Yeah. And I can't imagine. I don't know how it gets better with these same players when I'm watching these players just not achieve at the level that I expected. You know how I was so up in the air on JLX Hunt. I mean, I love Nolan Smith and the way he is willingness to hit people and get after it. I doubt that his body loves it. And I don't know that he can keep up that level of intensity and it feels like he has backed off a little bit on that intensity. And he's the one who got dig a sack yesterday. Yeah. It was his? I think it was his. And he got a sack. Well, it certainly wasn't JLX. Alright. No, no, no, no, no. No, no. Nolan Smith said it. I think he was the only sack, yes. And certainly wasn't JLX. JLX is supposed to be the guy, you know? Yeah. And I'm hearing stuff like, Well, he got four pressures yesterday. Okay.

I mean... But he wasn't wrapping up. That was bothering. Yeah. It didn't look impactful. I saw him missus sack. I saw it generally time. Not get this young quarterback, cam ward to the ground. And we're doing things to get him in there. You know, we're running the stunts where he's looping around and getting in late. It's just always late. You know, like if it's a pressure, he was late a lot of times. I've been disappointed. Get there faster. I don't know. Be more explosive. Be angry or get in. I don't know. I wish I had an answer. They do have $100 million. We dollar guy coming. Well, when? Well, I don't know. This is a pectoral. That's crazy. It's crazy to me that he's still not around. And he's not been a guy who's put up massive numbers. He's a guy who will do a better job of setting the edge in the run game. And I hope his, you know, repertoire of moves is more elaborate

than the guys that we have right now. It feels like young guys who don't really have answers to what they're seeing. Well, look, the reality is Jalen Phillips for the half a year he was here. Let's just pretty freaking good. And they don't have them. And they don't have Bernard yet. So they're lacking there. Surprisingly, in my opinion, they're lacking there right now. 215-592-94-94. Let's also open up the other topics. Got to do our window window to the weekend. Receive 20% off all windows and doors with no money down enough to three years to pay off interest free. Call, got to do our window. Call them today at 1877, go, go to, or visit gogeyda.com. Well, we'll start with two big injuries that they could impact the Eagles. Because obviously there's always a bunch of injuries every week in pro football. But two yesterday at the quitterback position that really could have an Eagles tie in. The first is Caleb Williams, who obviously is not going to play next week against the Eagles. And who knows who plays again this year? And the other is Jalen Daniels. So we'll get into that more at seven with the Novakar doctor when he joins us coming up in 20 minutes.

Baseball, Breggman. And the Cubs are getting near the playoffs and the Phillies might play him. He got frickin' smoked. He got smoked with a foul ball while standing in the on deck circle. In his eye, Bayeslan the picture, he put up yesterday. He cannot open an eye. Now I don't know what that means for when the playoffs start next Tuesday. I know this. He sure is not only playing the next couple of days. I have no idea if he'll be available to play next Tuesday. So just know three injuries yesterday in sports that have direct tie into either to the Eagles or the Phillies. This isn't even getting into the safe one injury and the guided injury and all that stuff. Again, more on the injuries with the Novakar dot coming up at seven. But also Phillies weekend, John. I mean, you split with the nasty poor Matt. They're gonna make the playoffs. Okay, their magic number is three. Their four off with six games to go. They're gonna make the playoffs. The problem is, it's really looking increasingly likely

that the most likely scenario is that they will have to play the Atlanta Braves in the first round. Which also means the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round. And this will be entirely their fault. If it comes to that, I mean, John, they were up last week on the podries. Like four or five days. The podries are like nine and one. I know they are. I know they are. So they're time and it up right. You know what? Yeah. And then, and then one more piece of Phillies news that I didn't see comment, but I got no objection. Kirkeren sent down to the minors. That was past two times. Rhea, do you ever remember a regular Phillie being sent down with one week to go on the playoffs? Because I, to the play. I have one week to the playoffs. No recollection of any comparable move in my lifetime of any of the teams. Flyers can send people down. Sixers obviously, it's not really historically a thing. I mean, you got the D league now, but it's, I have no recollection of one week to the playoffs. Let's send someone down. I'm amazed it took this long. I mean, he's been bad for a while.

He really has second half of the year. I can't believe his ERAs in 13s. I feel like every time I see the guy pitch, he gives up a run or three. So anyway, you can react in the Phillies weekend. Obviously a ton from the Eagles game to talk to us about hit us up at 215, 59294, 94, whether it's the Phillies or the Eagles to react to this segment. You'll hear from Nick Cereonio in the heat. Galen Hertz with a cool interview postgame with Christina Pink on the field. And again, your phone calls talk to us 215, 59294, what stood out to you the most from yesterday's game? I don't know how it can't be. Galen at the end, heroic as he was, but what else stood out to you from the game? It was for the second straight week, a close win against a team perceived to be not that good. So here we are again. And I would say this one's more egregious because I think Tennessee is worse than Washington, especially when Washington has Jayden Daniel.

So, but I will say this, the, here's and John back to your point about the defense, you know, being so disappointing. Jeffrey Simmons, despite all his idiotic things that he did last week and yesterday in the game, he's all over the field. He's a great player. And Jaylen Carter, is it? Well, so far he's not your right now. You know, this guy is just game-recking stuff. Well, Carter, he made the one big. He made it. Yeah, it made it. He did have a sack too. Jaylen Carter did have one. He did have a sack, yes. Jaylen Carter had the sack. Oh, sorry, you're right. So, no one's missed and Jaylen Carter had a sack. My fault, my fault. Yeah, the sack that made a drive a fuel goal instead of a touchdown. Yeah, but he was not a different thing. Which essentially was the difference in the game. I mean, that was a different player. Yes, but for the touch of the play. That was a huge play, but for the- He has looked like he's budgeting himself. He has looked like, you know, again, he's got an unbelievable first step. He's so explosive. But last season, we saw him play 95% of the snap something like that. It feels like early this season, that is somehow catching up in his mentality.

Like he's not feeling all out the way we want him to be. And I think it's reflected in the, I don't know, not as impactful play. Well, let's cut to the chase. In 2024, he was an unbelievably dominant top three or five defensive player in pro football. Since then, he hasn't been. Period. You got paid like one. I know, Dave. Let's go to the phones. Two, one, five, five, nine, two, nine, four, nine, four, Jake and coach. Feel good morning, Jake. Good morning. Hi, Jaylen. Doing well. Good, buddy. And so we're heading back still drive. We drove RV down nice and night and left, you know, about an hour after the game. So we're an hour from home. That's it. Well, good for you, man. Sounds like an incredible trip. I said, Jake, give us the percentage. I mean, it looked to me, maybe 75% Eagles fans. What, what percentage was Eagles fans? I heard a lot of say 80, 20, but honestly talking to my buddy here, I was saying 90, 10,

John, you know what, Barterson, that is for Tennessee Titans fans. That is pathetic for their organization. Amazing. But really yes, by you guys, by us. That's, I mean, that's unprecedented. I've never heard of anything like that in a way game where you're representing 90% of the stadium. Wow. I think I will say in this instance, I will not complain the way I did after the six years series versus the New York next. There's a clear difference here. It was our fans of this stuff. All right. 600%. Yeah. You had a blast. You had a blast. How did the team not respond? It felt like the team didn't respond to that incredible showing. Well, to be fair, the offense moved. It's just a two turnovers kill drives. I mean, that first drive, they're about to school. 15 plays. Yeah, I mean, they're, they're right on the doorstep is, and then to their credit, they come back with two more long drives after that. Well, they say first time this century, three drives of 10 yard, 10 plays or more to start this. That's what disappointed me about the defense. Don't tell me your tire.

You barely on the field the first day. I agree. That red. It is impossible to comprehend turning it over twice, losing the turnover battle by two now now, and still out possessing your opponent by 13 minutes. That's crazy. That's bizarre. Jay, good call, buddy. Appreciate it. Glad you had fun down there. 215, 592, 94, 94. All right. Come it up in a minute here, what Ciri, he said about the heat, what Jalen said about the victory. We'll get to both of those pieces of audio. And of course, your phone calls all that up ahead in just one minute. Schedule your appointment and schedule today, UnitedTire.com. Don't drive alone. Drive United. All right, let's listen to first Nick Cereyani. Then we'll get to Jalen Hertz. Heat obviously was a factor. You could say it. I mean, you could just say it. Jeffrey Simmons was one of the best players out there. There was a point he was out on the side line. You could just see he was, I mean, he was struggling on the side lines and he played a dominant game anyway. Let's listen first to Cereyani on the heat. It could look like you had to get to an IV after the game. What details can you share about what it was? What was it like managing that? Yeah, I didn't play a snap and I was hot. So, you know, yeah, the guys battled and they, again, they just dug deep. And I give credit to the Titans.

They dug deep too. And that's why if anything was off in our preparation, it wouldn't have given us the best chance to win, but it just took everybody and it was hot as **** and everybody was on ****. When Cereyani gives you a jump, whatever that was, Cerey 4 curses in 30 seconds, something's going on there. I mean, you know, it's not the normal from him that it's that much. All right, let's listen to Jalen. So this is right on the field, right after the game. Has it even left yet Christina Pink from Fox catches up to him? You may have turned to one of the other games or right here on WIP or post game on TV. Well, Christina Pink and Jalen, this is a good interview. Matter of fact, let's, matter of fact, before we get to this, let's listen to the winning touchdown. Actually, let's listen to both key plays that that that led to the winning touchdown. So first was an ultimately was a nine play drive and it was in slightly less than two minutes. There was a third and six at one point to, but, but, but I believe to, to wicks, third and six to wicks for 20 yards.

Then there's another third and six clock is ticking. This is 19 yards to Devante Smith. Perch lines them up again. He's back. He's looking. He steps up. He is firing complete. Devante Smith inside the fire comes down with the ball. That was big and got out of bounds and got out of bounds and got out of bounds. Now let's listen to the next play. 14 seconds to go. Got the ball, but you know if you get sacked, you lose the game. If you get tackled in bounds, you lose the game. Obviously the options are try to throw it to the end zone for a touchdown or an incompletion, but you cannot get tackled in bounds and Jalen found his man. Motion Devante Smith. Perch is back. There comes the rush. He fires. Takes down. Derrius Cooper. What a play. Perch to Derrius Cooper. What a drive. What a drive. And there are nine seconds left.

And the Eagles lead 23-20. That was awesome. And that was primarily Jalen. That was the best drive. What's that? He threw it over Jeffrey Simmons head. I like that. I didn't notice that. Well, the Eagles, I think they were trolling him. They posted it on their Twitter count. The view from behind Jalen. That's funny. All right. Let's listen to Jalen hurts out to the game on the field with Fox's Christiana Pink. Jalen, you were surgical on that final drive. What allows you to stay so poised in those situations? It's not going to be a s***. I have to finish. Let's know. No, Jalen. Getting some love there from Jeffrey Simmons. So what allowed you to stay so poised and calm there on the final drive? What's just a reminder I had coming into the week? That's a great team. I don't, I don't, I mean, obviously a record doesn't say that over the course of the last two years. But the way they didn't come out compete, Coach Rob Salad always had a ton of respect for him. You got to show up every Sunday in this week.

We could have been waiting. We were fishing on third down. The early turn over on third down in the Reson, obviously, hurt us. But we found a way to win. Dallas Goddard goes down. Say Kwan was in and out. Can you tell me about the trust you have in your guides of Montaix Smith who you found a couple of times on that drive? Yeah. That's who Smith is. He's undoubtedly one of the best in the league doing what he's doing. I think for us, we just collectively got to continue to kind of come together and figure this thing out so we can be more consistent and can sustain more drives. So we're not in the positions towards the end of the game. We've been in the last two weeks. Is that a little more adversity with the heat and the conditions in this game? Just how are you guys able to overcome it and how hot did it feel out here? Oh man, I wasn't bothered by the heat. It was more so just having to focus, maintaining my voice throughout this game. New is going to be a challenge against the great team, a well coach team. They got a great quarterback on the other side of the ball. And then they've got a great deepness of scheme. So hats off to the Titans.

Happy to figure out how to win this game to the... I think, Jaylen. That's Jaylen. That's what he said to Jeffrey Simmons. He said, you started that fight. Yeah, you started that bleep. I had to finish it. That was such a cool one. It was great. It was a great line. Jaylen's open to my eyes. I've been very impressed with what he's done in the first two weeks. Obviously, the turnovers are not, you know, not not worthy. I mean, that's a thing, but he has been the main reason why they're 2 and L. He was the main reason why they beat Washington. He was the main reason they won the game yesterday. 2-1-5-5-9-2-9-4-94. All right, some of those significant injuries from yesterday. We'll get to that up ahead. And your phone calls, your reaction to everything that went on this weekend, including the Phil split in New York, but the Eagles pull out a win, albeit a close one in Tennessee. 2-1-5-5-9-2-94-94 on this Monday morning, Joe the camera, John Rich, Eurea, and Lewis Cocoa in for James on 94-W.

But Davonte was awesome. And Jalen obviously aside from the two interceptions was just spectacular. And even with the two interceptions, I'd say he was spectacular because he led him to

the, led him to the win. Good morning, say it. 215-592-94-94. We will hand out our game balls. And I imagine both of those players will be part of the game balls next segment. All right. This segment right now, Novakar, rehabilitation injury report with Dr. Richard Francesco. He's a core family in sports medicine in Glen Mills and Kenneth Square doc, specializing in sports related injuries, including concussions. They were a number of notable injuries yesterday. Not all of them were in the Eagles game. Let's welcome Dr. Francesco to the show. Good morning, doc. Good morning, team. How about that win? How about sketchy though, throughout the game? All right. Give me a word. More exhilarating or what's our poll here? More exhilarating or relief? Relief at the end. Come on, it's a mix of both. We got the win in there. We saw our players moving around. I said in a word exhilarating or relief. Which one? Exilirating. Thank you, sir.

I think that's the correct answer. Let's get to it. Say, Juan, Stinger. He aunt dealt with a lot of them. They vary in severity. He was able to come back. What do you know about Stinger histories and what it means for what's up ahead? Indeed they do. And they are all too common in football all the way down from your middle school, your JV varsity leagues all the way up to the professional league. And they do range in all sorts of flavors here. And say, Juan has a little bit of a history of him. He had one back in December of 25 during practice. But then later that week, he was clear to play Washington. So it really can switch things up. Now with his case, we're thinking and hoping more along the mild lines. They took him out of the game. They put him in a cowboy collar. But they kind of held his snaps. They kind of kept him back, even in the second half. And I do know he's getting MRI this week. So, and that isn't so much to rule out any sort of nerve damage itself from a Stinger. But to make sure there's no skeletal pathology that could make a Stinger worse off in the future.

So right now, everything's being played really conservatively here. But a Stinger, long story short, it's when this nerve plexus in your shoulder gets either traction on it, banged up or compression. So you can find that a running back, they get plenty of that just like with Sequan yesterday in that dog pile. Dr. Scott, there's got to be something better than a cowboy collar for these things. With all the technology we have in today's world, cowboy collars suck. Cowboy collars, you can't turn your head. I mean, it helps for Stingers. You still got Stingers with a cowboy collar, though I can preach to that. Is there anything different or better you can do? Yeah, not play. That's that's basically how they do it. Yeah, I know, I know you want another answer. Unfortunately not. I mean, when they took them back for the X-ray, they made sure there was no acute skeletal injuries, no fractures or breaks in there, even in MRIs, and going to show too much, or even a nerve conduction study, isn't going to show anything until weeks later if the

trauma was enough to be more of a chronic thing. Now that cowboy collar, you can either get a pinch from a stinger in the neck area, from the roots of the nerve, or in the shoulder where something lives a brachial plexus. Think of that as where scuical intersex I-95 near the Walt Whitman during rush hour, it gets pretty dice in there. So when that takes a hit, it can take some time to cool off. Now, sometimes people get a stinger, and they can get right back to playing 15 minutes later, as long as you have stinger. Sometimes guys get stinger as they play, and they play the whole game. But sometimes they chew it in Howard, they get a stinger, and their career is never the same again. So to where we were, it started various. I went about Goddard duck. He's got the knee, what is he sense? Yeah, Mr. Glass here, I feel like every time we talk Goddard, it's about his knees, starting to repeat history here. So yesterday, when he took that impact injury to the right knee, everybody salt with a keen eye, it kind of went inward. So there's a lot of informal reports

going out there like, oh, MCL, is it Mniscus? Is it this? Is it that? I mean, long story short, thankfully, it looks like he avoided something catastrophic that would keep him out for weeks. That direct blow to the knee could be the Mniscus, little push and pat in knee, or it could be the MnCL, one of the stabilizer ligaments on the inside of the knee. Now, there's no report yet if he's going to get an MRI, maybe that bodes well. But these injuries, these direct blow injuries, they can really range back in September, 25. He had one of these against the season openers with the Cowboys, miss one game. Then in December of 24 against the Ravens, same injury, he was put on IR and missed for four weeks. So fingers are tightly crossed that our buddy will get back in play, really sooner than later. Doesn't it seem like a good sign, Doc, that he stayed out there on the field, on the sideline in his pads? Almost, I know that from personal experience, when I blew my knee out, they sent me to the locker room and you get the work up while you're in there and

there's just no, there's no coming back out from that. I thought it was a positive that he was standing there, he was into the game. I thought it was positive the way it looked, as you said, you know, it looks like an MnCL or a medial Mniscus, but again, the fact that he really, it didn't seem like they were as concerned with the way they handled him. Would you agree with that? I agree. Similar to Sequon, these kinds of injuries can be something that okay, you know, a little busted up this game, but they're trying to take good care, especially this early on in the season of their starting players. And there's no reason to push it, especially if the game scripts have come them otherwise. So yes, Deathly Boadswell, he was hanging out on the sideline still in his pad. Doc, yeah, for sure, that history. Let's get to the two, I'm with you. Let's get to the two quarterbacks in the NFC that could have big implications. Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels, do you think they're done for the year? Yes. Both. Oh, you're loaded questions. You're throwing it right off. So with Jaden Daniel, everybody saw that, that elbow dislocated again. I mean,

initial time it did that back in 2025 against the Seahawks, kept an out a couple weeks. And then, again, in that same season, which eliminating the rest of the time, now he didn't need surgery. So the X-ray was clean yesterday. That's a good sign. No fractures. But the real issue in there, the fact that it keeps dislocating, there must be some sort of instability issue. I don't know if it's ligament, I don't know if it's cartilage, but when something's recurrent like that, he's going to start favoring that side. And his team's going to know that and he's not going to be able to play the ball like he wants to. So just like Coach said, they hope he's back this season. But I think that MRI is really going to tell all is, okay, we've been dealing with this over and over and over. Do we want to repeat history? Is it time to get him under the scatiful? So the MRI is going to be the big, siding factor. I think if he does come back, even if they don't do surgery, we're looking at several weeks because he's going to have to PT the heck out of that thing to strengthen those muscles surrounding it. So it doesn't happen again. And yes, there's braces he can wear. But in the

end, when you go down that hard on an injury, the brace is only going to do so much. Then we got the bears on the other side, tough week for the bears. What the heck? What we have this time? They're saying hamstring strain, doc. Like he had to be carted off the field. He couldn't walk off the field himself. That doesn't seem like a, an hamstring strain of your normal, normal caliber. I hear you. And they just like stingers. They come in all those flavors as well. Terce Monster got him good when he went down with that, right? Hammy. It could be anything from a really nasty pool. And I don't know if the screens when he was on that field, I think they were a combination of pain and frustration because a lot of times players know exactly what hit him. It's like someone smacks you in the back of a leg or rubber band snapping. So he probably knew that great. Here we go down, anger and pain. As far as how much time back when this happened when he was a Trojan in 22 to the left hamstring, he was able to continue playing and he played a week or so later. But then if he gets

the MRI, if they find it's a nasty soft tissue tear in there, it could be a surgical thing. But if it's not, that's still some rehab. Now, if it's a great one, sure, he could be back next week. But knock on wood if one of those hamstring muscles tore and the gold standard here is there's a tear in there. And if it's more than two centimeters for an athlete like him, that's surgery. And that means done for the year. And that's the oh yes, done for the year. Yep. Doc, Doc, we appreciate you again. Everyone get for Dr. Richard Francesco's care to core family practice.com slash sports dash. I got one more question real quick, Doc. Is it past? Do players of his age of vals their hamstring? I know that that's something that is, I guess it's rare, but it's more common in young kids when their bones are softer because they're growing. It happened to me. Right. It is. I mean, that that's what I thought initially when he's rolling

around screaming and unable to walk. But is that out of the question for his age? It's not out of the question. And when those hammies, they pop, they hurt, they heard a lot. Obviously, contained within that drive was a crucial third and sixth 20 yards to Wix. Another third and sixth 19 yards to Devonte. That's the one that took the ball inside the five. And then obviously the TD at the end. Got to be happy for Darius Cooper sealing that thing up.

Obviously, young player, not, you know, expect it to be a pro football player, if you will. Let's listen to Darius Cooper after the game because John Clark caught up with Darius Cooper. We're talking about his winning touchdown. Here we go. Great play call by coach. And I was really, I was out there really to set a pick for Smithy. But the how the defense played it, we always got to have a follow back on how they play a counter. So the second progression was open. Jay made a great read, a great throw. By the time I looked up, the ball was just in the air, grabbed it, made sure I dragged, jagged it in it, ends on the fundamentals and we got the win. We saw how your teammates were celebrating with you. Yeah, how special is that? Very special. You know, that's, that's what it's all about. You know, the team, tough, tough detail together. That's what we, that's what we're all known in. When, when, when our brothers make a big play, we out there, you know, so that's what it's all about. Just the brotherhood, the camaraderie. And we, we are, we really, we really appreciate it. That's special for us.

All right, Darius Cooper really, really, really well done in NBC Sports, Sean Clark catching up. Really bold choice by the Titans, the double team, Devante Smith while he was laying on the turf. So he slips and their, and their, and they're not even paid attention. Yeah, it was wild. It was unbelievable. A poor job of swapping. Oh, I would say, I would say, all right, coming up in a minute, bad of the boner word, will Darius Cooper? I assume for the first time in his life, will he get a game ball from us here on the WIP Morning Show? We'll tell you coming up in just one minute. Benari Jouler's September financing event is almost over. And this is your last opportunity at all end September 30th. So if you've been waiting, don't right now, you can make a purchase and pay zero interest for five full years, zero interest, five years on approval, but not much longer, 10 days left. So think about it. Imagine that $4,000 Eternity band for only $67 a month,

or that $8,000 engagement ring, just $135 a month, spread over 60 months with no interest, very doable. So if you've been holding off on proposing or upgrading or celebrating something big, this is it. But you have to move now this end September 30th. Benari went all out for their financing event. And when it's over, it's over. Benari Jouler's exten and new town square online at BenariJouler's dot com based on approval. Some exclusions apply. Well, when the birds lose, which they almost did, it's blame balls when they win, which they certainly did. It's game balls. Either way, it's the bad of the board award, the bad ass version. They won. Who are the heroes? John Richie, first game ball. Who does it go to? I get to do the post game show here on 94 WIP with

Bert Ellis. That's right. And we do the the bloody bird award, the bloody bird award. Will they rip it off our thing? No, it's bloody bird for me. I get to pick the guy who I thought played the toughest best game. It was Darius Cooper for me. And it was a mixture. It was a mixture of what I saw not just this week on special teams, but last week on special teams. So I'm sort of going out of bounds here. He deserved that last play. He deserved to get the ball thrown his way. He deserves more reps in games. And it's only a matter of time. And I think I think that touchdown, that winning touchdown is going to go a long way toward getting him the reps. It's pretty cool, man. I'm talking on coverage units. He is destroying people. And it's so rare to

have a wide receiver who's willing to run down and tackle. Get dirty. Yeah. Tackle people. It's not part of their their repertoire. You know, like they might be able to block usually not very well. But this guy is just as tough as nails. He's destroying people every chance he gets on offense as a blocker, but also on the special teams. And what it look, it wasn't the most difficult, like, level of catch for the win because, you know, as Rhea was saying, you got two guys covering Devonte, who's on the ground, who slipped coming out of his motion. No one's covering, Darius, but sometimes those are the toughest catches to make. You know, it feels like the balls in the air for five seconds instead of two or whatever, everything's in slow motion. He did what he needed to do yesterday and helped us win that game in a huge way. John, when I heard from people down there, they loved him. They were like so happy for him. Because he deserves it. He absolutely

deserves it. Well, congrats to Darius Cooper. Reminds me a little over to the Greg Ward thing, 2019 Greg Ward with touchdown versus Washington guy that you never really expected to ever say, let alone at a pit of spot. The Greg Ward was Greg Ward's special teams. Why is it was return guy? I know, you know, slider. This guy is built like a truck. And he trucks people. Man, awesome. Trucks people. Lewis and for James Lewis, Gameball to who? Bad of the bone. Oh, I think it's a pretty easy. If it, Darius Cooper wasn't taking, I was going to go to Darius Cooper, but how about Devon Tay Smith? 10 for 1117 made that enormous play inside the five, getting out of bounds. Rea made that point. That's huge. Nine seconds left. You have to get out of bounds. No timeouts. So look, Devon Tay Smith has been able to open up the field a lot for the Eagles. Game one, I was a little bit worried about. I mean, obviously, give me that crazy toe tap catch. But in week two, it looks like Devon Tay Smith has kind of taken that roll back as wide receiver one. And look, I think you had a good game and Smitty. What do they call him solo batman or something? I think I heard some of them. We'll slim back. Somebody say, skinny, skinny batman.

He's now solo. All right. So there is a chance. I can go with jail with the bed of the bone. If he gets past the third pick, rejuice. I can't believe you last the day. I can either. I mean, you know, just what he did on that last drive. We all, we all know. I mean, he accounted for all 66 six yards on that drive. And to me, though, one of the biggest plays is the one he threw away, just getting outside that. So you voted the sack in the last drive. Yeah. In the last drive. So there were two in two in completions. One was a short wick's drop. And then that one, I mean, if he gets sack there, oh my gosh, they're done. And he was wrapped up. Yeah. He was wrapped up in the middle of the pocket. He's able to escape that tackle and somehow get far enough. Great strength to the edge to get it out of bounds. And here's the other thing. He had to keep overcoming, you know, Sean Manyon is doing some good things. I like there's a lot more under center. There's a lot of motion. But those continued runs on first and second. Now we're putting them in third and longs. I'll tell you, consider what was stacked against them. So let's,

let's just detail for a second here. He's got a shake. Y'all fence of line. He's got no sake. Juan. He's got no Goddard. If you want to draw it back the last year, he's got no AJ. And the defense doesn't get a turnover. No, it's it was and he just carried them. But here, let me give you this numbers is he is four conversions on third and seven are longer retired for the second most in his career. Yeah. That's pretty impressive. And I should add the first and second round pick aren't doing much. Exactly. First Sean picks give me a little bit. Well, they're doing they are not scheming. Yeah. Those those, those place from a guy that are behind the line of scrimmage set them on fire. So bad of the boner word for me. I got three names written down and consider I'm considering wicks, but I'm going to say no, but he's had a very nice start to the season. I'm considering Jalen Carter for the one play that was crucial to turn what could have been a seven point drive for Tennessee into a three point drive because he sacked them. But I'm going to stay away from him. I'm going to go to Jake Elliott in the 58 yard for a goal. It's big. And I got to give Cereoni credit and I guess I have to start adjusting my minds and maybe

we all do. I didn't even consider it. Like I'm used to when I watch a game, you know, I should be a go for it on four down as this upon is as a kick of field goal. We're all kind of a custom to what the normal stuff is. But now when you get the ball slightly over midfield, you got to start considering the bomb field goal. And I wasn't in the moment. Like I was like, what field goal unit? What are you talking about? 58 yarder. He nailed it. So I got to give Jake Elliott a game ball. That was really big. And by the way, Bo's well for what's ahead because obviously coming into the year of all the Eagles regulars. And he's been a regular. He's been here since, you know, 2017, one of the shakest in recent years. So great job. I had a great camp. He was really booting the ball in training camp. I was struck by that. They didn't have anyone competing against him. I was also struck by that. Yeah. Expected it. That was a big, that's big. Fugelman. That was a big field goal. He did make it by much. Now we didn't. But he, he made it. That's yeah. Great job.

All right. 215 59294 94. Up ahead more from Jalen Postgame. Nick Ceregane in the locker room. What he said to the guys, Dumbrowski commented yesterday in La Zarda. You probably don't know what he said. We'll play you that audio this segment. Let's go to the phones. Oh, Ray did injure 755. Seth join her nine o'clock and your opportunity with us. Tell us how you feel at 215 59294. Let's get to Eagles Shirley. Shirley. Good morning. Hey, good morning, family. Good morning. Good morning. Big one. Shirley. What's up, Cheryl? Big pull out that trick. Listen, I was listening. So I could have been at a couple of different places. Definitely couldn't win the Tennessee. Oh, Rich, I want to let you know my grandson. They lost the game, but he said he had five pancakes in the tackle. Nice. Yeah, he's getting up. He's getting up. But the game. Yeah, he's trying. He tried. So I was that I was at an 80th birthday party, right? And celebrating life, right? So much going on.

I just said I will be there. And then they had the game on. And I felt so I was watching it on my phone, but they had the TV on behind me. I would not turn around and watch the TV because everything was in front of me. So I felt like it would have been root. Was it would it be rude to turn around and just be so engaged into the game? Or was it rude for me to just keep looking down at my phone on the table? Can I can I surely, let me let me answer that. I speak for all. Okay. It was rude of them to not have a TV set up for you to watch. Bang. All right. That's it. They did. They did. Why weren't you watching? Everybody was talking that they had the microphone and everything up at the front. And it was, you know, seeing it. And I just like, I let me watch them. I don't watch the game too much. The host is big. I'm over. She said, surely it's a TV on right behind you. I say, yeah, I know. I know. I'm still trying to be. I'm like, girl, you know, I want to ignore everything and go. But I want to be respectful because turn to 80 years old. It's like, come on, man.

If that right there alone, and she's a big Eagles fan. So Mr. Morrow, the Eagles did it for you. But I just wanted to say as I'm watching the game, now I'm asking because I don't know, John, I don't know. They was blitzing. Jalen so much. And is it on, is it on us, the coordinators, the coaches, the, the guys in the position to make sure that one, he can get the ball out to somebody. Yes. Quick enough or two, the scheme is just working. It's so fast that Jalen need to get it out quick enough. Jalen is doing a great job. The block is like, Jalen, it's doing a great job of getting it out on time for the most part. There have been some really wonky stunts swaps by our offensive line where when, when defenders are twisting, it gives us all sorts of trouble. Now on the play we were talking about where Jalen got the ball out, where he threw it out of bounds

on the two minute drive at the end of the game for the win, the nine play drive. Jordan Milada was held by Jeffrey Simmons. I mean, Jordan, Jeffrey Simmons, it's an ET stunt. So the edge and the tackle are sort of switching. They're, they're overlapping. They're, you know, crossing paths, but Jeffrey Simmons held the tackle and made it impossible for Jordan Milada to swap out to anyone. You know, basically he took two and I wonder how often that was happening. You know, that's like a, that's like a dirty little trick that the really savvy defensive lineman use and the kind of thing that Robert Salah, you know, teaches. I mean, it's a technique that works that it seems like a lot of people are doing that to us. I sure, surely, it's hurting our ability to protect our quarterback. Surely give us a big eagle shan on the way out.

I listen, and listen, I got you. I saw that when I'm a lot of dudes hand up and that's the same guy Simmons is the same one to say that we have control, you know, um, Jay, Jay, I heard you got a pie. So you didn't control nothing because you want to gain. And, and, and two, Joe, I, I, with about the game ball, I know you're not asking us about the game ball, who to give it to. Sure. But I was going back and forth with my son on who to give it to. And you hit it on and now for me, baby, I'm sitting there listening to everybody answers. And soon as you said, uh, I I was like, yes, Elliot. Thank you. Well, let me be very clear. I would give it to Jay. And if I had the first crack, I just, I always go forth in this little game. That's always rigged against me, surely, but, but we're telling him to get it for me every week. But, you know, at the end of the day, that, that kick because look at what they was doing. They were driving. They were driving some kind of way defense help us out because they was twisting y'all to the side to make that hole to get the runner back on spares and polish. But anyway, I got a, hey, baby, we want the

game. We got our people coming back from Tennessee. So let me put the take the phone away for my, for my big mouth. Let's get this win, everybody. We got the win. That's what we asked for. Today is my day. We got the one coming back from Tennessee. Let's go, baby. All right, Charlie. Well done. Better, better job by you than your phone company who had your phone, you don't even know because she was away from the phone, but better job. I heard in the phone company. All right. Let's get to the Twitter poll question the day brought to us by Armin, Chevrolet. By the way, we want to hear from you on all this your opportunity, 215, 592, 94, 94 and in particular, we'd love to hear from those that were in Tennessee, which was many thousands. So if you were there and are back or still down there and listening, talk to us at 215, 592, 94, 94. All right, Twitter poll questions brought to us. As I said, by Armin, gas prices,

maybe killing your budget, but you can visit armandchevvy.com to see the huge savings on every Armin Chevy, Evian stock visit armandchevvy.com, visit them today. All right. So we actually have the same exact poll question that we had Monday morning of last week after a close win against a team proceeded to be not that good last week Washington this week. Tennessee poll question again, what's the doubt to you more from yesterday's Eagles game? The positives are the negatives. Again, the positives stood out to me more because of the play of Jailant. Now, the interceptions were bummer and they compromised the team and obviously put them in a spot that made it a closer game than not, but he was so exceptional otherwise and has been so freaking good in the first two games. Otherwise, I view Jailant and the positive in that regard as far out way in the negatives. And we have seen negatives both yesterday and in the first two weeks offense, the line and more. But I think Jailant, what he's doing to me is why the positive should win the poll. You can vote

at sports ready at WIP on Twitter. Read the other poll question we have. Here is where you come down on this, which emotion did you feel more after the game yesterday? Exileration or relief? Right when the game ended. Right when the game ended. Oh, exhilaration when he caught the touch. Is it was so fresh? Oh, yeah. What about what about an hour after the game? Relief. Definitely. I was like, as I started going through all the things in my head that were going wrong. I mean, the special teams for the Titans might be one of the worst ever. They were given the Eagles field position. So that helped. But I'll kick this guy at a point. Yeah, for sure. No, no, on kickoffs. Yeah. Like what the hell was it? Why are you kicking it into the end zone or short of the end zone to where it comes out to the 40 when they're kicking it into the end zone. It's coming out to the 35. Yeah, but I was told by my special teams coaches, anytime you get it out to the 30 or further, it ups your chances to score. I forget what the numbers were. Astron, nomin,

which over the 20 or 25 on with you. But on that point, and I'm feeling a lot of positivity. And maybe we'll get into this with Nick tomorrow because, you know, we're going to have a bunch of questions when he joins us. I don't like or get the strategy of the Eagles kicking it in the end zone with nine seconds left. I mean, we saw the cheese win that playoff game in 2021 against the bills with two passes with 13 seconds to go. Like to me, I would much rather take my chances of the other team has to have a kick return for a touchdown than a hell marry. And look, the guy didn't get the hell married pass off. But as soon as the Eagles kicked the ball into the end zone, you know, me and my family were sitting there and like, wait a minute, there's nine seconds left. You just put the ball in the 35 yard line for them and took zero seconds off. What the hell is that? Like why not kick it to the five yard line, make them at least run four or five seconds to try to get to the 30 35 yard line. And then they're going to have one play, which by the way, they probably can't reach the end zone. I mean, is the analytics

department really saying that a team has a better chance to return a kick than hit a hell marry when they had a time out? I don't like the fact that I thought that was fricking stupid. It felt like you gave them two plays to work with. Well, yeah, you did. You did just one and they had a time out, John. Yeah. So they passed the ball as I knew they would to midfield call to time out. Yeah. Now great job by Vic Fanjo. He schemes up a guy forget who it was come from the left side on a blitz and that threw off, you know, Tennessee and the guy never got the pass off. But I was like, you know, for a good game manager, I was like, what the hell is that by Cereoni? And I don't want to hear about that special teams coach. That's my Jake Elliott. He's going to kick it wherever he's told to kick it. If he's told by the coaches, kick it to the five will kick it to the five. If he's told by the coaches, kicking the ends out, he'll kick in the ends out. I thought that was really dumb. Yeah. Two one, two, one, five, five, nine, two, ninety four, ninety four, three big injuries, yesterday in sports that could relate to our teams. Caleb Williams, the hamstring. Now there's, there's talk out of Chicago. It's not as bad as perceived. We'll see. Obviously, the Eagles play the Bears next week. Washington, Jaden Daniels, the elbow. He

benefits not as bad as perceived. It's still a hamstring for sure. If he's able to play and based on his writhing around on the ground, I don't think that's reasonable to expect. But if he was just over reacting, his game, a lot of it is moving. He's great throwing it on the move. He's great rolling right, great rolling left, which is really unique. He is an athletic quarterback who can do a lot of things. This will limit him. And I would like to point out that he's injury came in the fourth quarter and they had three points. Yeah, no, I agree. I mean, they were not, you know, they were all ready to say they were setting the scoring records after their first week. That's right. That's right. I'm flourishing. Getting after it and Carson went to an O now. Jaden Daniels, the elbow. Obviously, he's going to be out of wild. How long we don't know, but we'll say. And then if you missed it in baseball, Alex Bregman and the Phillies could be playing the Cubs in eight days in a playoff game. He got smoked by a foul ball while standing in the

on deck circle. Now I'm showing John the picture. Obviously, if a playoff game was today, he'd have no chance to play. Can't open his eye. Can't. It looks very sore. Can't open his eye. Now I don't know. Did he break his orbit? I don't know. But he hit his cheekbone and the eyes really affect. He's got to have a concussion, right? I don't know about that. I don't know. I just know this. It's a playoffs for today. He can play. Now the playoffs are in eight days. But maybe I mean, he's obviously one of their two best players. I mean, that's a P. Crow Armstrong and Alex Bregman offense. So we'll see if he can open his eye to play in eight days if the Phillies play them. By the way, speaking of the Phillies, I mean, I got a lot of discuss with how they're coming down the stretch here. They're going to make the playoffs. All right. They're four up with six to go. They're going to make the playoffs. But they've put themselves in a position. Whereas of this morning, they would be playing the Atlanta Braves next Tuesday. And if they were to survive that series, then they would be playing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round. That's ridiculous. They told us it was their goal to be the top wild card team.

Well, that was not too long ago. They were right there last week. Yeah. It's such a far cry from where they are, where they're playing. Parable. Parable. By the way, we did get an update from Dave Dumbrowski. You can comment on all this at 215-59294-94. Let's sneak in a quick Phil's thing. Obviously, we're very heavy on the Eagles for all obvious reasons. But Dumbrowski did give a Lazardo update yesterday before the game. It sounds much better than we could have perceived. Let's listen. Let's listen. I haven't sat down to discuss it. I don't buy that. Don't believe it for a second, but very optimistic. That's great to hear. And that was the words very optimistic. So it sounds like he's going to

pitch the playoffs. Obviously, roll 2B determined. Hopefully, it's as a starter. Hopefully, he's the game three starter. But again, not I'm not happy at all. At all. With the way this thing has gone, as far as the Phillies now line enough to play the braves. 215-59294-94. I thought Jalen was absolutely awesome yesterday aside from the two interceptions. And it can't just push them aside. It was a real part of the game. Look, there were three reasons to me why this was a close game. Three reasons. One was the two interceptions. The second was the Eagles did not create any turnovers on defense. And that shocked me. And the third was the very shaky offensive line that allowed for no running game. Like, I don't even put St. Juan being out of the game as one of the three reasons. I trust the other backs to run enough. There's no one to run. I mean, John, you saw in the first play, St. Juan got knocked out. Gizzy ran straight into alignment who was being pushed back by a defensive line. There was nowhere to go. Yeah, I got to look at that again. I actually do think there was a

cutback on that play. All right. But they are not doing a good job of clearing space for any of these backs. And they're had they've been a real liability. They have the past protection as well. The offensive line with the reshuffling and whatever. Last year to this year, it's fallen way off. How much of that is Chris Cooper? How much of that is just the lack of Jeff's a Jeff Stoutland? How much of that is man Lane really is at the end of his career. And just the sunset. And there are certain things that he's not capable of doing as well anymore. I thought it was interesting to watch how much they helped him yesterday, meaning they had a wing over. Yeah, tight end. Tight end over off the ball aligned right outside Lane. That's not something they did previously. He was always just on an island. And now the back is helping chip on Lane's side because it's

it's tough duty. I mean, you're facing the best pass. Where she's in all the world. We're used to the Eagles. Oh, line being either the best in the world or amongst it. And they are not playing their not. They're not. And they may not get that back this year. They may just not be able to be the stalwart line we're used to. But you know, Jalens playing better than he did last year to me is playing better than he did in 2024. I think he's taking to the new offense. Well, obviously the turnovers are a bummer and we're a hindrance yesterday. But generally speaking, I am extremely encouraged by what I've seen from Jalen hurts so far this year. We'll talk to Ray Dittinger coming up in about seven minutes. Let's go to the phones. Also, Merrill Montage. How it sounded. Yes, they will play that shortly. Mike right now. Mike, good morning. Good morning, everybody. What's up, Mike? What up, Mike? Yes. And all I know is everyone needs to get it in their heads right now that this upcoming Valentine's Day. It's not going to be read. It's going to be green because we're winning a Super Bowl on that day. This team, I know we got a little bit of problems.

Okay. I know. I'm not lying. I see them. But Jalen is a different quarterback. I mean, I've only in two games. I see a completely different quarterback. I see a completely different juice on the offense. And that's without our line. And that's without a running game. And I actually, for some strange reason, still have the confidence that we're going to pull back together. So I love that we've got all these like underrated guys who have something to prove. Jalen is the leader of that pack. Committee even, you know, to to an extent is one of those guys Cooper stepping up. I mean, I know Biggs, he's not our number one. We want to say one, but we have all these guys that they have something to prove. They just look differently. Doesn't Jalen stand different when he talks? He's got different, you know, body language. Like the whole cloud of AJ is gone. Yeah. That will said, that will say what, you know, I think we're missing on our defense. And not completely, you know, go negative. But we're missing leadership on our defense. And as firm as we think,

today underestimate the loss of a Nicole B. D because we can really use his torpedo type of play. We can really use some kind of vocal leadership. Like there's nothing there on the defense right now, which that's my, that's my biggest concern more than the line. You know, Mike, I look, it could be some of that. But I think I got that a lot lower. And I love the Kobe then just basic pass for us, getting home. Raiders are two and a I know. Look, Nicole is the stuff he's making play. I play yesterday. I love him. But, but I mean, Mike, they're playing a quarterback yesterday. It's just not that good. That doesn't have much around them. And they get no turnovers. You know, they got to get to the quarterback more. You get to the quarterback. You create turnovers. Simple as that. And they didn't get too much yesterday. Yeah. But also we don't have anyone on that side of the ball right now is getting people's faces and firing them up. They just kind of like, but that will say, we wouldn't be super bowl. All right, Mike. Appreciate the phone call. Let's listen to a few things from yesterday. Let's let's actually start with Cereani in the locker room after the game. We're going to go

in reverse order here or somewhat there about here is Nick Cereani in the locker room after the game addressing the guys. All we thought about was how we're going to get that ball back and attack. And that's the mindset we have to have with everything that we have as coaches, as players, there was no quickness team. This is an organizational win. A lot of people got you ready for this game besides you guys. So great. We make great decisions in the kicking game men. Covey, sub, whale. You guys make great decisions back there to give us ultimate feel position the entire game. A guy like Darius Cooper. He's always doing the things he needs to do without the ball in his hands. And that can happen when you get rewarded with the game when he touched out of jail and way to have great poisons and lead us down that field. Take huge cash. Great protection, great protection defense. You made him go the

long haul consistently. That's a good team win. Yeah, man, go long haul consistently. You never took the ball away. But anyway, that's Nick Cereani yesterday and a lot of good stuff. Let's listen to Jalen Hertz. What he said after the game at the podium talking about Jeffrey Simmons. And that guy is a great player. Jeffrey Simmons is legit as you could tell, but Jeffrey Simmons did not get it done in the end. And obviously what he had said something during the week about Jalen, he got to make him be a quarterback all that. Let's listen to Hertz post game. Is that a comment that you heard that man to you and how to get responded? I heard it. And did a matter. I heard it. I think responding. Cold blooded, John. Cold blooded. I heard it. I heard it. I heard it. We want it. That was really one. That was really, really good. Let's listen to how it sounded here on WIP and then we're going to get to the diddy rate. Didn't you with us every Monday morning around 755. Let's listen as Merrill and Mike were on the call. We're going to need a montage.

Merrill Reiss said Mike Quick saying hello from the music city. The Eagles meet the O110C types. Third and roll. Hertz. He fired. He accepted. Down the near sideline. Go across the 30. 2015. 10. 5. It's rocket. 90 yards. Under center. They sneak at the rent. Tennessee takes the lead. Hertz takes it. Gets it off inside. He gets it to big. And he's moving the touchdown. Hertz. Falling for the football. He's back. He is firing. Complete. Touchdown. Many. The five days. Smith. 22 yards. 37 yard attempt. The slide. Spotted. Pick up. And it is good. That's the end of the first half with the score. They go 14. The tights 10. Bored. And he is grabbed and he tries to go outside.

And it diving is Bored. Bored. Fakes the ball. Took off and ran to the corner of the end zone. And diving. He's inside the pilot. Hertz. He's back. He is looking for the bomb. He's back. And it's intercepted. Intercepted at the 18 yard line. The second intercepted to the game. Third and 22. One. Take the snap. He gives it off to Spears. And Spears runs to the outside. And cuts back. Has the first down. He picks up the first down on the throw. All the spotting. The kick is up. And the kick is good. The tightens for the first time to day. Have a lead. 20 to 17. 156. Remaining in the game. The Eagles are without timeouts. The Eagles must at least get it to position for a Jake Elliott field goal to send it to overtime. Hertz is back again. Here comes the rush. He steps up. He lets it fly.

Leaping reception down at the 40 by Wix. There's life. There's life. Hertz lines them up again. He's back. He's looking. He steps up. He is firing. Complete. The one day Smith. Inside the fire. He comes back with the ball. Boat is the one day Smith. Hertz is back. Here comes the rush. He's fired. Take snap. Darryus Cooper. What a drive. And there are nine seconds left. The Eagles escape. The Eagles escape. A brilliant. Come from behind. Final minute. Burrs win it. 24 to 20. They save a tremendous disappointment. And their fans in mass at the stadium can go home happy. Yes, that's the Eagles fans going home happy. The Tennessee fans, which there were like three oven the building. Not so much. I'm Maryland Mike. Obviously on the call.

Great job by Buzz. Buzz Wilson putting that together for us. For more, let's talk to the diddy. Look, I'm very pumped up with this two. I know it's been two wins against two teams not perceived to be very good. And maybe in the end, they won't be Tennessee and Washington. But could have lost one. Jalen put the John Wayne Cape on or put another way he put the John Wayne. It means I'm being heroic. Oh, God, give it one. John L. Way Cape. I mean, he's John Wayne Cape. Well, John Wayne was like the the man. Yeah, but he put on a cowboy hat. Not a cat. Yeah, it's okay. John Wayne. John Wayne was to get it done kind of guy. John L. Way was to get it done kind of guy. And Jalen Hertz has really opened my eyes so far this year with the start to his season. The two interceptions were both a bummer and a huge setback. But for the most part, I think he's playing great ball. Great ball. Let's talk to Ray did in Jerusalem. Join us every Monday on all of this. Ray did a good morning to you, sir. Good morning, Joe. How are you doing? I mean, I'm pumped up.

I did not see coming. Ray. The Eagles lose in the turnover battle by two. You know, if Jalen's if Jalen's on this team and you know, Tennessee's got all that slop. You don't expect to be minus two in turnovers, but it happened. But they found a way. Jalen starts the season in the new offense. Talk to us with what you're saying. Oh, yeah, you're right. Um, and by the way, when you said there were about three tight and fans, I think you're overstating it. I'm not sure the word. I thought too. I'm not sure I saw a third one. Uh, yeah, that was one of the great stadium takeovers in Eagles fan history. Good job by them. Um, yeah, I thought that, well, I mean, everything you said is true. Uh, and, um, I thought Nick Cereon made a very good comment in his post game remarks where, uh, I mean, he just sort of rattled it off. Uh, he didn't make a point of it. But as soon as he said it, I thought that's that's the perfect way of describing it. He was describing the the qualities that make Jalen hurts, the winning quarterback. And, and he said, Jalen's always in the

moment. And I thought, you know, that's a perfect way of putting it. Um, because, you know, he gets the ball back with 156 to go. No timeouts, no barkley, no gutter. The offensive line's been bad all day. And he's, and he's got to drive at 65 yards to save the day. Uh, and at that moment, he's not thinking about the interception in the first half. And he's not thinking about the interception to be through earlier in the fourth quarter. He's just thinking about 65 yards to go win the game. Uh, and, I mean, it's easy to say that, but not every quarterback can do that. That can put all that stuff behind and just say, okay, let's just play this into here and now. We got the ball. We got one last possession. Let's go down to win the game. Uh, and if a guy really feels that, and that's how he approaches it, and he's able to transmit that to the other 10 guys in the huddle, that's what you need to win in those games. And that's what this guy's got. You know, you and I talk about it a lot about how, you know, where does he rank? Is he elite, you know, all those terms that people throw around? And I've said it before. I mean, is he ever going to lead the league

in yards? No. Is he ever going to lead the league in touch? Now, this is probably not, you know, is he going to win a whole lot of individual statistical honors or be everybody's idea of the perfect fantasy quarterback? Yeah. No, I don't think so. But when a game's there to be won, he knows how to win it. And ultimately, when you're drafting quarterback, signing quarterback, scouting quarterbacks, that's the quality you're looking for. And this guy's got it. And he certainly demonstrated it yesterday. Ray, what does the offense need to do to match the intensity of that final drive for the rest of the game? It just didn't feel like it was there until it mattered most. And give him credit, give jailing credit, give the rest of the offense credit, the offense of line protected when they needed to for the most part, aside from when Jordan Milat got held at one time. But even well, shiply, I mean, on the on the touchdown, on the touchdown to Darius Cooper had an unbelievable pick up, a blitz pickup. It every right did their job, but it was almost too little

too late because we nearly lost to a bottom rung team. So the intensity, what's the deal? No question. I mean, I mean, you just summed it up, John. And, you know, listen, as good as they felt coming off that field and as good as they felt on the plane coming home, they know to a man that they got a lot of work to do. And it starts with the offensive line. I mean, they got to get that thing straight now. I mean, they were they were bad against bad against Washington and they were bad again yesterday, frankly. And, you know, you're two and oh, which is great. You're right where you wanted to be at this point in the season, but, you know, realistically, if you don't get your offensive line plan better and you aren't able to establish a better run game than what you've got so far, you know, it's it's going to be hard to win. It's going to be hard to win on a consistent basis. And I understand the change that was made from from Stoutland Cooper. I understand that. I understand that there's a different philosophy in place and I understand that they're being taught

different techniques. And it's a lot to put on the offensive lineman to change the way they've approached and changed the way they've played it all these years. But they just got to pick it up. I mean, they got to play better. I mean, you look at what Hertz was doing yesterday. I mean, how much Dressie was under. I mean, I was looking at one of the analytical statistical breakdowns after the game and they do they've rate things by pressure on the quarterback. How many how many dropbacks was was their pressure? And that was over 50% for her Chester day. He was he was he was under pressure 54% of his dropbacks. I mean, you can maybe get away with that against the Tennessee Titans, but you're not going to be able to get away with that against the really good teams that you're going to have to beat over the course of the year. So yeah, I mean, that's the one takeaway there. I mean, is it is that you know, the Hertz, you know, Hertz or quarterback your leader, he bailed out yesterday and won the game, played his butt off and won the game. But you got a lot of work to doing that offensive line and not a whole lot of time to do it. Man, Ray, they also may not have won

this game if not for Devon. Who's just incredible. Here's my list Ray in my lifetime. What I've seen. I I'm too young for Harold. Obviously, I saw him like quick, not all of it of the toe tapping along the sideline thing. I got a group of two and it's not T.O. It's not AJ Brown. It's Devon saying Chris Carter and that's it. As far as the best body control along the sideline, I've seen in an Eagles uniform. Do you agree with that? Yes, 100%. I was thinking I was actually thinking that yesterday watching this that ability to to do that toe tap thing on the sidelines and still control the football is rare boy to be able to do it like that. And Chris Carter had it, showed it in Philadelphia and then of course, showed it again many times over in Minnesota. But I thought that Bill Parcells had a great description of the impact that Chris Carter has on a game in the passing game. He said that his ability to play the sidelines like that and lean and lean literally

out of bounds and catch the public keep his feet in bounds. He said that Chris Carter is playing on a field that's two feet wider than every other receiver. And I thought what a perfect description, because that's exactly what it looks like. And I mean, you've seen it with Smith right from the beginning. I mean, you saw it. He had it in college. I mean, he was that kind of receiver in college, too. But since he's been here, you've seen it over and over again in a clutch spot that he will widen the field for you because he's going to be able to reach and catch and control balls that other receivers just can't. And I mean, what a player. I love him in college. I mean, his final year at Alabama, but you're always equal to 117 passes. That's 20 and 36 touchdowns. If you count the Ohio State game. And he came to the NFL on our miscar, he's so small and he's so skinny. And I said, no, this guy, all he does, all he does is get open and catch the ball. And you know, I know there was so much said in this offseason when it was obvious that AJ Brown wasn't

going to be here. And so many people are asking the question, oh, geez, can Davante Smith, can he be a number one? What are you kidding? Have you not watched this guy? I mean, he's, and I saw it. I saw it. I heard people say it. I heard it. People say it on our air. And I read it, you know, I think Eagles are going to trade away the best receiver in Eagles history for a current day. And look, I like AJ Brown. And he's a hell of a player. I'll agree with that. But you know, I'm thinking, AJ Brown, the best receiver in Eagles, he's not even the best receiver in the Eagles today. You know, I mean, forget about, forget about the, you know, Harold Carmichael and Pete P. Hoeson, Tommy MacDonald, who, by the way, are all on Canton. I mean, but you're just going to say that this guy's the best receiver in Eagle's history. I absolutely felt that Smith to me was, was all of that. And, and the idea that can he be the number one? Absolutely. He can be the number one. And he's demonstrated that. And yesterday, you know, I mean, give all the credit in the world of Jalen Hertz because he certainly earned it. But you're not winning that game without, without

Davante Smith. Yeah. Davante 13 targets yesterday. Don Tavian Wix was also really good. And he's been dependable already this season. You can see the rapport between he and Jalen, him and Jalen. But then what about McCoy lemon, Ray? Why it doesn't seem like Jalen trusts him yet. And I'm basing this off of the, you know, the first interception. It looked to me like he was there in the flat and, you know, ignored by Jalen. I don't know if it's just he was, you know, forcing the ball to his guy, Davante or not. I mean, I guess it makes sense that Jalen hasn't had the reps with McCoy that you would optimally want to be having a good feel for, for your receiver. But how far away is it from when Jalen and McCoy are going to be connecting and connecting well, Ray? Well, they have to get him more involved in the offense. There's no question about that.

Because one of the things that we, one of the things that we've all said was this year with no AJ Brown is that you're probably going to have to, the way you're going to make up for it, is you're going to have to distribute the ball to a lot of different receivers. And, and Jalen did that, actually. I think he completed, I think he completed balls in nine different guys. So I mean, yeah, it's, it's not going to be a year where anybody's going to catch 120 passes or anything. But you're going to spread the ball around. And McCoy lemon has to be one of those guys. And I, I think it, it really is kind of what you just said. They just really haven't had that much time to work together. You know, lemon almost since he's been here, even in the spring, was, was a little hampered by the hamstring and the hamstring really shutting down. So we didn't really have any kind of summer. And they really haven't had a chance to work together. And it's hard to try and develop that timing and that chemistry and that trust to use your word, that trust between a quarterback and receiver when you're in season, when you know, now these reps are real reps. I mean, now you're planning games. And that's a split second decision. Do I throw the ball to this guy? Do I trust this guy? Do I think he's going to do I know he's going to be exactly where I want him to be right now? No,

I don't. It's okay. So I'm going to look somewhere else. Well, you have to reach that level of trust. These two guys do over the course of the season. And it can be done. I mean, we've seen it be done. But that's kind of where they are right now. I think it's just that matter. They just need to work together a little bit more. But I know a lot of people are down on lemon. I'm still believe, a believer in what I saw him doing college. I think he's a good player. I just think he has to get healthy and he in the quarterback have to get on the same page. 94 WIP HD one Philadelphia. We broadcast today from the Tasty Cake studio every Monday. He got Ray Diddy right around this time. And of course, Seth joiner with this in studio for the 9 o'clock hour. Ray, my greatest frustration by 10 fold yesterday was the defense not getting any turnovers. I mean, I didn't see that coming at all. What do you I know Tennessee? There's a pass rush. Yeah, they didn't have a ton of plays. But what's going on with the defense? Yeah, I mean, that's that is a concern. Yeah, you're right. I mean, it's two your two games in now and you're two and O. Hooray, but you're two and O and you haven't turned the ball or yet. Yeah, I mean, defensively, you haven't turned the ball or yet. And that's not

characteristic of this team. That's and that's something they have to rectify. And these weeks ahead playing better competition. What you play so far, yeah, you're going to have to get those. You're going to have to get those. And right now they're not I was I was very surprised that they didn't get get a couple yesterday. I mean, you're playing against Tennessee. And you know, if you look at Ward, I mean, he he has been sacked more than any quarterback in the NFL since it'll be any last season. He's been he'd been coming. If you go back to the first game of his rookie year. And then through yes, through yesterday, he been sacked 58 times. So and that was more than any other quarterback in the league. So I'm going to tackle yesterday. Yep, yep. And I thought all of those factors coming into this game to me, this looked like a big game for the pass rush. This one like a game where the pass rush pass rush is going to be all over him and was going to force him into mistakes. You're probably going to get a couple of takeaways. And the pass rush was not great.

And you kind of might zero takeaways. You wanted to minus two give it a way take away and you still get out of there with the win. Well, okay, that's great. I mean, you were able to do that. But yeah, the pass rush has to be better. I thought it would be better yesterday, but it certainly has to be better moving forward. Well, do you think that Jonathan Grinard, when he's finally back from the strained peck will make a big enough difference? Or do we need to, I don't know, potentially look to my gosh, add before the trade deadline. It doesn't feel like we have edge defenders who scare anybody. Right now, no, no, I mean, Grinard, I mean, that's what they got him for. I mean, they got him to be that guy. They got him with the idea that he was going to be their big edge rusher and they haven't had him yet. And I guess he's getting closer to playing because I saw that he was actually on the daily reports. He was down for limited work and practice, but at least he's practicing a little bit. So, to an indication, he's getting closer to playing, but they need him.

I mean, they really do need him. I think, you know, Hunt is a good player and has his moments. And I think over the course of the season, he's going to play well for this team. He did last year and I suspect he will again. But right now, you need that guy on the other side. I mean, and Grinard can be that guy. And they need him to get him healthy and get him on the field. And I think that will be a big boost to the pass rush because yeah, I'm that's one area where they need to improve. And the other area that really concerns me is tight end. I mean, they are thin, thin, thin there. And, you know, if this offense is really going to function the way Sean Manion wants it to, wants it to function, I mean, this is supposed to be a pretty heavy tight end offense. I mean, they want to go with a lot of heavy formation. And those guys, they need to be able to block on the edges and they also need to be able to contribute to the passing game. And you take, you take Goddard out of that game early. And now you, you really, you don't have a tight end. You trust in those situations. I thought month would be better at blocking since that was the one thing they said he was really good at. I didn't see that. Ray, I was increasingly worried yesterday

when Dallas was in the game. When Dallas got it was in the game. He is once upon a time, this guy was an ass kicker blocking people in the run game and past protection. And that is no longer there. Dallas got it is not attacking as a blocker or dominating as a blocker the way he once did. We have a real pro. I agree with you. We have a very real problem at tight end. Fortunately, Zach Hertz is available all the problematically. He's a bad blocker. You know, we need someone to pin the edge. I agree. I'll say this. John, I agree with you. Ray, I agree with you. But I think both you'll agree with me. But jailing keeps pulling the games out. And I'm not saying that's a point. You want me to win the Super Bowl. You know, go 20 weeks and get the February because you do, he's going to need more help. But I mean, Ray, the story of the season so far is other than the two interceptions. He has been superb through two weeks. He has no question. I mean, that's the story

so far. He has been awesome. Period. A lot of stuff. He was awesome. Previously, but what, what, but what, you agree he's been better than last year. He's in a better offense that gives him more chances, gives him more answers. And he's timing it up. Yeah. So nicely. Yes. He's rhythmic with this offense. That's a beautiful thing. All right, Ray, we look forward to. I think you're both right. I think it's he's playing better. I think this offense is a better fit for him. And it's allowed him to establish a rhythm in the offense that that was totally lacking last year in the design of the offense and the way he was executing. I think he's very comfortable now. But for him to move it forward and take this team on to where you want to go, you need to complete the offense. And better tight end play is going to be it's going to have to be a part of it because right now they just don't have that. And they certainly didn't have that one got went got her left the game yesterday. Ray, great stuff, bud. We'll talk to next week. Thank you, Ray. I look forward to it. Take care.

And by the way, shout out to Don Tavian Wix who's doing a very nice job so far as the two. And credit to how he rose in because you know, as I told you in the offseason, once the trade was made, AJ, the trick wasn't going to be can Devante be a one? The trick was going to be who's going to be the two and can someone, you know, be a decent enough replacement at two. And obviously Don Tavian Wix was off to a good, very good start this year. All right, let's bring it down the stretch of the game right now. And then we'll get right back to the phones, you know, things that were going on down the stretch. So obviously this thing was going back and forth late. Tennessee took the lead for the first time since the seven nothing lead early in the game. So the Eagles had to march down the field. The had to go 65 yards for the win or feel go arrange for the tie. Turns out it's a nine play one minute and

47 second drive. There was a big third and six completion of Wix that one went for 20. Jalen was just awesome on this drive. And then a third and six 19 yards to Devante Smith to go inside the five. Let's listen hurts. Lines them up again. He's back. He's looking. He steps up. He is firing complete Devante Smith inside the farm comes down with the ball. I mean, huge, just huge. And he gets out of bounds. Let's get to the winning touchdown. It's the very next play, John. You pointed out great job by Shipley picking up the blitzer in there up front. So Shipley steps up and nails that dude. Yeah, that was sustained as block stayed stuck on him. Sometimes, you know, they can get ticky tacky with those calls if you actually tackled. That was a little concern, but he's awesome aggressive. All right. So buys Jalen some time and back in the end zone

and congrats to Darious Cooper. A guy most people thought would never even be a pro football player. He's wide open for the touchdown. Let's listen. Motion Devante Smith hurts his back. There comes the rush. He fires. Touchdown. Darious Cooper. What a play. Hurt to Darious Cooper. What a drive. What a drive. And there are nine seconds left. Nine seconds left and they're able to lead 23-20. This was cool. And obviously, feeling at the extra point that it games over. Darious Cooper, John Clark caught up with the map to the game on the winning TD. Let's listen. Great play, call by coach. And I was really I was out there really to set a pick for Smithy. But the how the defense played it, we always got to have a follow back on how they play a counter. So the second progression was open. Jay made a great read. A great throw. By the time I looked up, the ball is just in the air. Grabbed it. Make sure I drag, dragging it in the end zone, the fundamentals and we got

the win. We saw how your teammates were celebrating with you. Yeah. How special is that? Very special. You know, that's that's what it's all about. You know, the team tough, tough detail together. That's what we that's what we're home on. And when when when our brothers make a big play, we out there, you know, so that's what it's all about. Just the brotherhood, the camaraderie. And we we really really appreciate it. That's special for us. Always got to be happy for the the fringe players who John maybe isn't so fringe anymore. I mean, he was, you know, low guy, the total pole last year. And he's, you know, again, it reminds me a little bit Greg Ward, you're right. He's doing more dirty work and special teams. But when a guy's not supposed to make it makes it finds his way to contributing, probably going to find his way to a bigger role. Obviously, Jim. He's good. Look, he's not as tall as AJ. I guess AJ's like what six foot, six one, maybe. But he's five, eleven, two, ten. He's listed at. He, I think he's built kind of like D-bow, you know, like just a little bit wider than your average wide receiver. And man, you can see

the way that pays off when he trucks people on special teams. I mean, like blows them up. They're trying to block him. He's taking like knocking them to the ground with his blows, you know, full speed, not afraid of contact. I love seeing that from them. And I'm sure the coaches and you saw the way everyone reacted. We even heard people discussing that, you know, in the post game interview, it's because this guy is an ass kicker and everyone on the team knows who is and who isn't. Everyone appreciates a guy who puts it out there like he does for the most part with no one even seeing it. No one noticed week one that Darius Cooper was destroying folks on on punt coverage. You know, or kick off. You pointed it out last week. But most people don't talk about it. He, he really, he's got a special spate, a special place in a lot of his teammates' hearts because they know everything he puts in and, you know, he's unappreciated for the most part. He's going to be

appreciated. You know, a guy who went to Tarleton State. He all threw out. He just hasn't gotten the recognition. Yeah. And finally, it's, it's, it's time. He caught that ball. No one covered him. He better catch it. But I think he's going to have a chance to be out there more. I hope he has a chance to be out there more. The problem is you got Mackaye Lemon. He's the third wide receiver right now. And you know, the coaches want to get him more reps. He needs more reps. So that's what Darius Cooper's facing. I want more peace audio before we go back to the phones. Jalen Hertz talking with Christina Pink on the field right after the game. The game ends and she catches up with them. This is good stuff. And initially, what you're going to hear is Jeffrey Simmons, the great Titans defense attacker who said some things about Jalen last week comes over to Jalen. You'll hear that exchange and then the interview on Fox. Let's listen. Jalen, you were surgical on that final drive. Just what allows you to stay so poised in those situations?

Getting some love there from Jeffrey Simmons. So what allowed you to stay so poised and calm there on the final drive? What's just a reminder I had coming into the week? That's a great team. I don't, I don't, I mean, obviously a record doesn't say that over the course of the last two years. But the way they didn't come out compete, Coach Rob Salad always had a ton of respect for him. You got to show up every Sunday in this week. We could have been waiting. We were efficient on third down. The early turn of on third down in the Reson, obviously heard us. But we found a way to win. Dallas Goddard goes down. Stay Kwan was in and out. Can you tell me about the trust you have in your guides of Montaix Smith who you found a couple times on that drive? Yeah, that's who Smith is. He's undoubtedly one of the best in the league doing what he's doing. I think for us, we just collectively got to continue to kind of come together and figure this thing out so we can be more consistent and can sustain more drives. So we're not in the positions towards

the end of the game. We've been in the last two weeks. Is that a little more adversity with the heat and the conditions in this game? Just how are you guys able to overcome it and how hot did it feel out here? Oh man, I wasn't bothered by the heat. It was more so just having to focus, maintaining my voice throughout this game. New is going to be a challenge against a great team, a well coach team. They got a great quarterback on the other side of the ball. And then they've got a great deepest of skiing. So hats off to the Titans. Happy to figure out how to win this game to them. Great stuff. Birds pulled out. Look, we got two Twitter poll questions to the day. They're both similar in nature. Twitter poll questions brought to us by Armin Chevrolet available now. Armin is offering zero percent financing for 60 months on all new light duties. Silverado's visit armandshavvy.com. The first poll question, which emotion did you feel more after the Eagles game? Choice A is exhilaration. Choice B is relief. I think a heavy dose of both who are in play for me more exhilaration, but a lot of relief also. Second poll question, exact exact same poll question as we had last Monday. What stood out to you more from yesterday's Eagles game, the positives or

the negatives? We'll get you the poll result of that as we move into the 9 o'clock hour. Let's go to the phones. He mentioned the third down efficiency. Yeah. You know, they were 11 and 19 on third down when you add in the fourth down 12. It's alright, 11 of 18 12 of 19 because they were one for one on fourth down. So when you're 63% conversions on third and fourth down, that's winning football. That's one area that despite the lack of protection at times, we were able to excel. That's one of those things that every coach puts up on a chart. You know, like we want to be at least this percent on third and fourth down. We did a great job with that. You know, keep the sticks moving and it was against all odds a lot of the time because we were in such a hole because of the early down the fish and say, I mean, we were all it was always third and ten or long. Yeah, it seemed but they they were somehow able to get it done. I think in large part because Jalen is getting

better at reading through things and getting the ball to the open guy. And yeah, it was a lot on his shoulders and he made good on it. One other thing just to point out, it was good to see the push push work with outland and Deckerson because they've only used it one time this year and we all know it hit a brick wall at the end of last year. Lot of injuries up front. Did the other teams figured out maybe a little combination. Deckerson was not in there. It worked. Let's go to the phones. Gary and Whitehall. Good morning, Gary. Oh, guys, what's going on? Hey, buddy. Hey, Gary, you sound sad. No, I just kind of waking up. You've got to come like coffee in the no, I'm actually concerned. I'm not sad. You know, say what you want about the Kyle lemon. Um, um, this year's draft picks aren't fair and too well. The realignment of the office line really backfired. I mean, Kendall didn't play that bad

playing center, but putting jerk into a left card. He was outmatched, outsized. He was physically beaten up. Um, um, no backup tight end is very concerning. Um, running back for a fly, but they had nowhere to go and hey, Joe. Yes, sir. Jim Hertz elite has been so far this year. Yeah, has been so far this year. I want to see it play out more, but I'm incredibly encouraged with what I've seen so far and surprised and impressed. I think so. He really put a team on his back. Uh, the other concern I have is anybody missing the Kobe team and reblanches it, because try for him to that back at that back end of the defense and now look at that very solid right now. You know, Gary, I know it's a big concern. There's no past rush. Yeah, the no past rush is a problem. The third and 22 that they converted with Taj A spears on the ground. Who is it on?

Oh, the right other run. I was run to the edge. Yeah, sorry. A run to the left. That's the time. Alex Hunt, Felix Hunt, ignoring the run and just trying to get up field to get the quarterback. Right. It's third and 22. Yeah. You still, you still got to, you still got to make sure they're not running it right at you, but it was a terrible angle from Omar Epps terrible angle. I mean, he had, he should have made the tackle, uh, you know, after, I don't know, seven yards, but he was basically outrun by Taj A spears, really bad play by him. Quinyan got just completely locked down out there on the edge. Nice job of blocking by the Titans, but a play that we were not expecting and we played very poorly and our safety was the main culprit. Yeah, I will say McEubha had a tremendous hit and wrap up tackle at the goal line. Awesome. That was one of the more impressive plays I saw all of you. I agree. Uh, just stymied him and he's not a big dude. Yeah,

he hit him and wrapped him. It was, it was really good. Go ahead, Gary. I want one more. Uh, it's, it's minor, but at the end, it's going to be big and, uh, something that I noticed and we talked about this with the, the Nick Ciriani, you know, his detail. The very minor, my new amount of penalties called against the Eagles in the first two games this year shows a lot of that they are dedicated to their execution and, you know, and being detailed. Well, yeah, I mean, I think generally they're good at that, but I will say on the details, Gary, I don't get cake in the ball in the end zone. Listen, Gary, good call my man. Rhea, am I wrong? Does the other team with 13 with nine seconds left? Do they really have a better chance to have a kick return for a touchdown or a kick return midfield that gets them a hell of Mary, then giving them the ball at the 35 with no time off the clock. When they have a time out,

can easily maybe they wait and the fact that those guys were gassed. Well, it's harder to run down and cover a kickoff. But they could be with the heat and everything else that those guys, I mean, I think you make a good point, but you know, John could they could have just given them 35 yards. I was making one of the tightens for giving the Eagles the ball in the 35. Yeah, I think it's done too. I mean, I think Nick's good at that kind of stuff generally, but like I thought like what the freaking hell. Yeah, I mean, I that made no sense. All right, quick fills diversion. Rhea, yeah, I know. Um, in the middle of that train wreck, yeah, normally diversion is like it's got like a fun kind of rotation. And of this beat connotation. This is not upbeat. What I'm about to ask. Yeah. All right, Rhea, I don't even know if he's eligible, but I think he is. Well, Kirk Green be on the playoff roster. They sent him in the minors this week. This weekend, you know, I have to look at him. I mean, sadly, we don't have good enough for enough relievers. You're screwed. I'm just saying,

I'm just asking like, well, this is where you started. You have to go in the ball. Obviously, Lewis, do we know if he's eligible for the post season? I can look. I don't know. I mean, I would think so. Like my guesses are sending them down to say what to work on something. We'll get two or three outings down there and be up here in a week, but what is he going to do down there? Well, I'll give you one thing. Not blow off. Fill it off. You fill these majorly baseball game. That's true. Let him go blow a scrant in gamer. Where do they play now? Uh, still scrant is not scrant. Where'd that day play? Lehigh, you're talking about Lehigh Valley, whatever, whatever. Well, scrant. I grew up with scrant. Scrant wills. No, but what a fall from Grace for Kirk Green. I have never in my life, and maybe I'm missing one, but I've never seen a Philadelphia athlete sent to the minor leagues a week before the playoffs, like a regular player. And he started to season off well, right? He started great for like three months. Yeah, it's done for three months. He was thrust into a high priority. He did a well though. He did a well though. From the moment he got here. Yeah. I know. Well, now he's in

the minors and the playoffs start in eight days. Let's go to the phones. 215 Lewis. If you get that answer, is he eligible to pitch? Do you have it? No, it's stuck in for a while. All right. I think it was just why they accelerated him from the get go. And now here we are. I do think some of this lies like the culpability here. Yeah. Why why was he? Well, I can immediately answer. Well, first of you to good arm, but I'll give you other reasons. Seranthini fell apart. Yeah, the need to have a rod of fell apart. Uh, you know, guys got injured. I mean, all sorts of guys got injured the last couple of years back there. So it just felt like it was all a bunch of bluster. And it wasn't panning out the way it needed to all the way back. But maybe that's me being too harsh. Yeah. We'll see if he's on the team in eight days. It sounds like Dumbrowski said pregame yesterday. They expect him to spend the full 15 days down in the minors unless somebody gets hurt and they

could bring him back up. But if he's down there for the full 15 days, that would in fact be after the plan. Well, it's the second round. Right. Interesting. All right. Wow. Let's get to Eric in a redding Eric. Good morning. Morning. How we doing? Good, buddy. Well, Eric. I'm driving back to redding from the game. It was crazy. It was crazy to see all the lanes coming in route 40. All the people coming to work in Nashville. And then the two lanes going to the airport completely packed. I hope everybody made it home safe. But it sounds like a lot of flights going back to Harrisburg. So how many what do you think the percentages were Eagles fans to tighten fans in the stadium? Well, I said I wasn't going to say this on air, but I've been over 200 pro games and I've never sat up or decked till yesterday. So I got a great view down and I would say my opinion 70%. And I sat next to two tight and season ticket holders that were a ton of fun. And I told them stories about as a kid. John were about the same age. I watched your whole career, man. I loved it.

Wow. Thank you. But in the 90 late 80s, early 90s, I was paying money out of my lumber yard money as a 14 year old kid to watch Ray Rhodes and Rich Co-tight teams. So I tried to tell this young guy and his dad, these devoted tight and fans like it'll get better. But you're probably never see a city coming here like this again. And real quick, I was at the Hall of Fame for Doc. When Doc went into the Hall of Fame, it was one of the greatest moments outside of my kids being born. That's great. The only other time I saw that much green ever. I mean, we were in Buffalo last year at Kansas City. So I'm actually driving back to Reading. I'm stopping in Blacksburg for a night, spending three days. And then we're driving out for the pairs game on our way to Colorado for Air Force and Navy. We're honoring our grandfathers who were both Navy and Air Force guys. My girl and I are driving. Yeah, it's really cool guys. We're doing a lot of crazy stuff. But anyway, the city was rocking with Eagles fans and it was just so, so awesome. And real quick, John, I think you and you and I, I'm big fans of all three of you guys, obviously, all that stuff. You guys, the three of you could

put on, I'm not saying I'm not a podcast guy, but the three of you could put on really something to us like long listeners, Eagles fans and WIP fans of what it's like to deal with the hosts and the other side. I love all of you guys, which happened with Joe and Fritz was awesome. I love Rhea. Shout out to you, name in your kit. Clarky. I love unique names. I have four kids. I have four unique names for my kids. I'll spare you, but just a long time, fan. I haven't called instant Angela. It was on the air. So, wow. Just really feeling good. And as far as I think the poll question I was trying to hear, I'm a glass. I'm a glass half bull guy. And when you watch, John, I've heard you just like smitty stature. I was a scrawny receiver plate, some small college ball myself. When you see smitty, do what he does at weekend and week out. And then when Jalen throws that agree, just 90 yard return. I'm sure you watched in the film. Smitty, full bore trying to go down field and break up that play so that it doesn't go to the house. I mean, that just

that sign seals and delivers it for me. And any by any of the haters, the doubters or guys like you and I try and to play the game, but you're still skeptical of that stature at time. I know. Totally. I'd like to call calls more off. Thank you very much. Very, very, very good call there. And Mackay lemon. I mean, Mackay lemon on that interception did a great job of staying with it. And he ended up making the tackle. I don't know if you noticed that. Well, you know what I also like about the Devante Smith stuff. Jalen is trusting him in tight windows. Yeah. I mean, that one that Jalen put up in the end zone that ultimately was in completion because it was just a little too close to out of bounds. But first of all, what an incredible catch by Devante. Couldn't get his feet in. But that's trust. And that's great. I mean, Devante has great body control and leaping ability. And so I think that, you know, Jalen's obviously one of the more conservative quarterbacks. I mean, frankly, the most conservative quarterback we've ever seen the Eagles have as a starter, but trusting Devante to stretch it, I think is a great

body control. The strength he must like having his body for being as thin as he is. Incredible. It's wild. And I got something I got to get off my chest. I'm curious if you noticed it. It happened first quarter. It irritated me. Okay. It has nothing to do with something that actually happened on the field. It happened in the stands. Do you know what I'm talking about? It happened in the stands. Lewis John, did anyone see what a Titans fan did after the interception? I saw you tweeted about that, but I did not, I did not see it. All right. So looks like the Eagles are moving down for touchdown. Sorry to the game. Jalen throws the interception. Tennessee returns it to like the four or five, whatever the heck they got it to Fox cuts to a fan in the stands. And I'm not making the biggest deal of this. But I'm just saying I thought it was uncool, especially if they're not from the same group. And they probably weren't. There's a frickin Titans fan and older man like, I don't know, 40, 50 year old guy. He reaches over two seats over to the little girl and she was probably

10 and Eagles fan with an Eagles hat on and he tugs the Eagles hat. Like take that little girl. Lewis, did you see this? No, I didn't. That's crazy. That's crazy. Now, if they're in the same group like Eagles fans and Titans fans together and they know each other like, haha, no big deal. If you reach over to someone you don't know and you tug on her hat like child. Take that little child girl. Yeah. No, I didn't see it. Oh, I thought it was very uncool. Yeah, yours was the only thing I read. What I thought was very uncool. You know, Jeffrey Simmons today looks like a smack desk in addition to his comments about Jalen that he made and then having to go up to him and then try to explain a post game. Did you see what he did on the sidelines? Yes, I did. And he should be fine. Be sure to be absolutely. I mean, he was so obscene. He grabbed. Let's put us away. Let's see if Lewis knows what this means. Lewis, do you know what it means to pull a papal bond? I didn't know. Explain it to me. Oh, you can't. He want to explain what a what a papal bond is. He, uh, so John, after the Titans went ahead,

he went and started, um, uh, gesturing to Eagles fans behind their bench. Oh, no. He grabbed the, he grabbed his junk. Let's just wait. Yeah. Wow. Grab the old, yeah, I do remember that. Everyone was and was yelling. If you, you know, it was pretty easy to read lips. Got it. All right. What? So he'll definitely get fun. He's definitely got it guaranteed fun. It was pretty, it was pretty aggressive. Pretty great. No, look, he's a great player. What he said after the game, he's obviously Jeffrey Simmons was going to be asked about his comments from a couple days ago about Jalen Hertz and then ultimately the L for him and his squad, although he is a great player. He was all over the field. I really, really, really, I would want him on my team. I'm not going to lie. All right. What that guy said after the game will play about Eagles fans and more will play coming up in just one minute. Let's remind you what Jeffrey Simmons, the all pro defense attacker for Tennessee set about Jalen hurts last week. Here was the quotes. We just need to make Jalen hurts be a quarterback. Stop his runs. Make sure hurts doesn't get out of the pocket and make plays. We discussed it last last week. By the way, Jalen took a matter of fact, let's listen to Jalen real quick before we play the Jeffrey Simmons audio. Here's Jalen hurts yesterday after the game when asked about it. He and his side this week that they want to make you play. Is that a comment that you heard that matter to you and how to respond to. I heard it. I didn't matter. I heard it. I think responding.

Called. Called. All right. Let's listen to Jeffrey Simmons in his locker room. Surely after the game about the comment and more. Here we go. When I said early in the week, everybody taking it and running with it that I said we need to keep Jalen hurts in the pocket. And play quarterback that's not a shot at Jalen that he came. Don't have all down the field. We saw he could throw the ball down the field. He's a super bow and repeat. That wasn't much shot at Jalen. The thing was if we could keep him in the pocket and eliminate him from scrambling and running, which I think we did a hell of a job of that. I'm making him go sideways. We could be successful, especially getting them to tear down. Because we saw on the second downs where it was just like GBOT. Jalen were trying to find something down. He'll take off running. You said that all over the tape. And that was my point of making Jalen hurt. Stay in the pocket and just be a quarterback. That wasn't oh, he can't be a quarterback in the pocket, but we we we we when he really matter, we wasn't in all best today. And that was a two-minute drive. Or the reaction to the fact that the stadium was about 80% green.

I don't have nothing to say about that. Just take the L Jeffrey. Take the L. That's great at the end. Let's get some Mike and Voorhees. Mike, good morning. Good morning, gentlemen. How you doing? Don't great, Mike. One of my buddies was out there, Charlie. So shout out to Charlie at the Nashville. We were celebrating at the pub in Washington Township and it was a jubilation. But I wanted to mention the fact and I've always been a big Jalen hurts fan. But this guy continues to take a beat. He got hit yesterday several times. Yep. And he's getting up just like Rocky. He keeps getting up. And I don't think we talk about that that much. I mean, how many games has Jalen missed in his career? Yeah, very true. Yeah. So well, I'll tell you Mike, we've been we've been very lucky in this town. jaws, Donovan, Carson. That he was reckless, but he was tough. And Jalen have all been exceptionally tough. Everyone else not quite as much to my eye, but those four very

physically tough guys. This guy is a warrior, Joe. This guy hit he got hit by Simmons one time and he let go of the ball. And I know he wears the rib pads at all, but he keeps getting back up. So I don't think we talk enough about that. But you know, you look at somebody's young guns that are going down with different injuries and all. And Jalen's not going down with those injuries. And he's getting hit and he keeps getting back up. So we got to give him credit. And by the ride himself on being out there being available, he is tough without even without having to say it. Everyone knows it. This guy, we've had several years where he's been our quarterback. We didn't even know he was injured. And he's got a surgery lined up as soon as the season. Yes. He also picks his spot. John of when to run. I thought Drew breeze was dead wrong. Oh my god. I thought that was ironic. That was he said was so dumb. I can't I can't understand. I can't believe it. He's a quarterback too. Like he knows that's the coaches harp on it. You've got to get down. Do not take

the risk of finishing four. Yeah. You always slide. But if you can't get out of bounds, right. Don't even take it. There weren't five minutes left in the game. It wasn't like the second quarter. And I don't even think he was going to get the first down anyway. He could have got another three or three. I wish. But I did know what drew breeze at that point in time. Like I hadn't seen the intro or any of that stuff. I was just watching the game. When I heard that stuff, I thought, I don't even know who this guy is. He can't be a quarterback, right? Fist-stringer. Yeah. That's what you probably were thinking. Couldn't have been an offensive player. He's clearly never been in an offensive meeting. And then it turns out it's Drew breeze. Here's where I think that he got hung up on because they tell you, you know, you got to, you have to be critical. And I mean, critiquing. He goes, well, I've got him in a jail and now I got to give it to him. I'm going, no, dude, you only have to give it to him if he actually did something wrong. Correct. Yeah. I'm with you. I was really dumb. It wasn't, it wasn't third down. It wasn't five minute. It wasn't a poor core. Yeah. Like on the same day, Jaden Daniels and Caleb Williams both get knocked

out for who knows how long I was stunned by that. 215592, 94 94 Seth joiner in studio with us next for the 9 o'clock hour, your phone calls as well on a great day. The birds are two and all although the fills are just leaking oil. I know they won yesterday. I know they got a lead starting pitch in amongst the top guys, but doesn't feel good eight days before the playoffs. It just doesn't. You got a camera, John Richie. It's 94 W. I pay. Well, it was tighter than we expect it, but the birds pulled it out. And the primary reason again was Jalen Hertz with a huge assessment of on taste Smith big day. And in a schedule maker, I guess, ultimately a bit, they haven't exactly faced a monstrous foe yet, but they're two and a as they often are. Let's welcome Seth joiner to the show. Seth joins us every single Monday at this time. And he's brought to us by Bradford Whitewater, Heaters built to be the best Seth Kimoning bod.

It's just so hard, isn't it? What? Give him credit? It's just so hard. No, I think I've been given credit all day. I mean, you got to admit Washington and Tennessee, not exactly, you know, you play who you play in their 1696 players in a national football league and they can all play. Yeah, but but 40 of the bottom 100 were on those two teams. But matter though, it doesn't matter. You couldn't you know, I'm going to tell me Jeffrey Simmons and his little gang of four down there on defensive line thought they were the bottom of the barrel yesterday. They didn't play like it. That guy's incredible, man. So Seth, what stood out to me the most, and this goes for both game and season so far is that Jalen has elevated his play. He's open my eyes. My eyes more than yours because my eyes were more closed. Your eyes are more open. I think he's off to a great start this year. Do you agree that's storyline number one, whether it's yesterday or so far two games ahead? I expected it. I mean, I guess the Jalen detractors didn't expect it. But I really expected for him to step forward and have a big year this year.

And he started off in tremendous fashion. And let me tell you something. John, I actually I believe if this offensive line can improve and get better, did Jalen even though he don't, if the line plays better than the run game will come alive. If the run game comes alive comes alive, you're not going to see him throw the ball 37 times. Okay. He threw 37 times out of necessity yesterday. The Eagles could only imagine, could only manage. I mean, you know, I think it was 89 yards on 30 32 characters for 80. So if the offensive line would just block my gosh, you know, if you could just if you got stunts, what are they doing? You know why? Because they do a lot of jump setting at the line of scrims because they expect for the ball to come out. The problem is when you jump set, you make yourself success. So man, my voice this morning, you make yourself susceptible to stunts like simple,

definitely susceptible. I'm sure simple T E stunts. Okay. So when your guard jump sets and your tackle jump sets and then it's like, Oh, I got to get back. Well, they're on the same level. So then when you get the pick on the guard, okay. And then the tackle kicks out and widens the gap and the guard is off balance. Now you got, you know, your defensive end would have be lying to the quarterback. So whatever happened to just kick it and get him back. If you both kick and get back on the vertical line or on a horizontal line, I should say, when you see it, you can react to it. You know, to me, that's coaching. That's coaching. And believe it or not, I don't, you know, I think I heard Chris Cooper say, you know, weeks back, somebody told me I had big shoes to fill and he kind of swole up a little bit, you know, well, you know, I'm my own guy. Well, you got big shoes to fill, dude. Right. And the fact and the fact that this line, the fact that this team

is two and a and the way that this offensive line has played, yeah, you better start stepping up and figuring it out because they can't run outside. I mean, you saw him yesterday, Joe, everything was inside the guards inside the inside leg, leg of the tackle. They can't run it outside because there's so much penetration by the defensive tackles and the stunton is going on that they can't run the ball outside. Well, sir, let me ask you guys. Let me give you three words. Tell me which one applies to the offensive line through two weeks average below average bad. They've been bad, man. They've been, I mean, there's times where they've been average, you know, like in that drive yesterday, that final drive, they were more than they were average. They were above average yesterday. But for the majority of the last two games, they have been bad, which makes Jailin's performance all the more heroic, but it's incredible. It is, but to finish my thought before I went on that long Salado. I think that Jailin can throw for 300 yards

of game easily in this offense. And this offense can be one of the most prolific offenses in the National Football League. This year, if the offensive line could figure out a way to protect him, you know, that second interception yesterday wasn't his fault. That's a walk in touchdown if they get Jeffrey Simmons block. Now the first interception, yeah, he got fooled. He got fooled. The corner, the safety act like he was going to double the inside guy or the number three wide receiver and then he fell off late, even even even though the he fell off and made the interception, it was a bad throw because the cornerback was in position and knocked the ball down anyway. So it wasn't going to be completed. They were only going to get three out of that situation. But other than those two those other two plays, when he had time and even under massive duress, man, he threw some dime just there. And he threw some dime just today and last week. And I'm just it it warms my heart because I can't wait to go home and watch get up and first

take and all that other nonsense in here with these clowns have to say today. No, I can't stand those clowns. He looks I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like Jalen. Yes today. I heard it. Yeah, I heard it. But you know, I'm not like Jalen in a way where I hear it and I'll just let it go. No, my fingers will be raw by the day by the time the day is over when I see these clowns start to eat crow. They won't eat crow sets. It's just they're not wired though. I'll shove it down there throw because you know, they will not give him credit. I know I agree. Joe, you will. You ask. Yeah, I mean, listen, if I'm dead, I'll tell you I'm dead wrong of all the, you know, of all the non-athlete hosts on this station, Joe. Okay. Yeah, like you will walk it back. Of course. And at least give the guy credit. A thousand percent, I will. Okay. Nothing would make me happier this year than him. The other two. The other two today, I'm still going to come on here and be like, well, I need to see more name

shut the hell up. Name names. You know, they are. There's only three shows on here. Really? You're right. So let's get one more, one more and then we'll get to the phones. I have not been impressed with the defense so far. They're not bad, but they're not nearly at the level I expect it. What's going on? I don't know whether it's fatigue or what it is, but if you look at, if you look at, they look like the offense in reverse last year. It's one half of the other. So last, last game, they completely shut Washington down. 110 yards for 110 first half yards. They had 90s, Tennessee Titans had 96 total first half yards yesterday. They barely had the 58. Yeah. Well, what are you going to do? 58 yards passing, 58 yards running in 38 yards passing. Then the second half, they give a 209 yards, 84 yards passing. I mean, 84 yards Russian and 125

yards through the air. And I'm like, what the hell's going on? So what is going on? Well, fatigue, teams, teams don't necessarily try to run the ball against the Eagles at least through these first two games. They don't come out running the ball with any real consistency in the first half. In the second half, when they decided to come out and they come out with a concerted effort to actually run the football, the problem is I was looking at my notes yesterday, you know, during pregame and postgame rather. And the Eagles gave up 120 something yards Russian per game last year going into the playoff game. They were ranked 22nd versus the run. They are no better this year. And until they get the run game under control, that means that that's going to open up everything else. For instance, Jayden Daniels didn't do much last week in the past in the first half. I think he had like 43 yards passing. It comes out in the second half and he throws for 120 something yards.

Same thing with Cam, you know, yesterday. But and what does that, what does that mean? The same way Croskey Merritt was running the ball. The Tennessee Titans duo, well, triplets of running the ball in the second half yesterday. They start running the ball. What happened? It opened up the offense. Now all of a sudden, Cam Ward's starting to complete some balls down the field and making it more difficult to play defense. Now the Eagles have they struggle. They have always struggled being able to control the run in the four man front. And I saw Cam do it at the line yesterday. You're going to see it more and more on first and second down when you see the four man front. They're basically in the six man front for two for down two linebackers off the ball. Two high safety. They're going to run the ball. He checked at the line of scrimmage and ran the football. When they get into that five man front, now okay, even though you're going to drop JLX, hunt, you're one less in the passing game. So then what winds up happening?

Teams are going to check to the pass against the five man front. They couldn't even stop it in the six man front. Like people don't people missed up. Like I watch them like, what the hell there in the six man front? When they get the six man front, they had four down two on the outside and one and a and a Mike linebacker. Now that Mike linebacker should only have one gap. If you do the numbers across the board and football truly is about the numbers, whether you're talking about the run game or you're talking about the past game, you two by two, you three by one, it's always about the numbers. The nice thing is six man. I expect both those edges to be coming. Like it's like four or three with your mic in the middle and your will and your your Sam on the on the line. But John is going to think about it. Think about it. If you you have five offensive line, you got two guys on the edge. They're going to squeeze the edges so nothing gets around the the corner. You got four guys inside. So that means that there's only five gaps inside. That means that middle linebackers got one damn gap. What are you waiting for? Get your eyes down

hill and getting that gap. And if everybody plays the gap across the board, there shouldn't be anywhere to go. But what happens? The Eagles can sometimes be a little undisciplined. The linebackers are unsure where they fit. So when they're double teaming by the time they decide to come down hill, they've already pushed the guy four or five yards off the ball. Okay. And then the and I can't tell whether they're a gap defense or whether they're a two gap or what they are because sometimes you know, you'll see Jaylen Carter, he'll swim and jump a gap. And I'm like, well, is your gap supposed to be outside? Is your gap supposed to be inside? Because it's a linebacker. The play as a linebacker, I need definition as to where you know, where I'm I'm filling. Because if it's play side, I know I got a specific gap. If it's a way, I got a gap away to flow. So how how well did Jaylen Carter play yesterday? He made what to my eyes. He made the big play at the end of the game to basically push them back, you know, out of field. That was a massive.

That was a massive plot. But there was a lot of nothing. So what what did you see? What was it? Was it predominantly good? Was it predominantly? Wow, he's gassed. He's going to get double. There's just no if ands of butts about it. He's going to get double. So he's got to learn how to not get frustrated and jump gas because he does get frustrated because he wants to make plays. And there's nothing wrong with that. But you know, I think that you give the weather some credit for them wearing down yesterday. You give them some credit, you know, in week one, they were gased in the second half because the offense couldn't convert any third downs. Like they punted seven out of the 12 possessions and get in week one yesterday was much better. They had more they had more first downs in the first half of yesterday's game than they had the entire game. So they were 11 for 18 yesterday, which meant that there was a little bit of a break, you know, for the defensive line and the defense. But still they just they just look like they withered in the second half.

They did. All right. Let's get some calls in here. Seth with us. The entire hour as he will be every Monday, nine to 10 in the football season or put another day the day after the Eagles play whatever day that is. Let's get like next week. I mean, Seth will do it off the air. But presumably you'll be in here on Tuesday next week. All right. Let's get to Brian and had a township. Good morning, Brian. Hey, good morning. Morning, team. How are you guys? I'm well, Brian. Hey, Seth, pleasure to talk to you. First time I've talked to you. Thank you, man. The correct word Brian is honor. Pleasure is nice. It's an honor to talk to Seth. I, I'll say honor and you should be in the Hall of Fame and I'll leave it at that Brian pleasure with. Yeah, there's nothing honorable. There's nothing honorable about, you know, being able to talk to, you know, a ex-football player. It's just a pleasure to make your acquaintance and have this conversation with you this morning. Oh, thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Stop calling me. Sorry. I moved to. I was at the game yesterday.

And I was with my son who lives in Knoxville, him and his fiance. So we drove from Knoxville to Nashville. Great cities. I have to say both Knoxville and Nashville. Pleasant, everything, everybody was pleasant. I think the ratio was more like an 80 to 20. I know that, you know, that we everybody spoke about the ratio. Incredible. Fans, fans, you know, and Titan fans. And all the Titans fans, they were, they were fabulous. There was like no, I didn't see any arguing, but, yeah, we were all up in section 330. And all the way up to stop where the lights are. And I, Seth, I know that you had said that the last, the second interception by Jaylen wasn't his fault. Correct. Did you say that? Correct. Okay. I, because soon as soon as that passed left, because we could say it on the, on the opposite end of the end zone. It looked like students, he throw it, both my son and I went, that's an interception. So like I don't, I didn't see anything on the line. So I,

well, I tell you, I tell you what happened when you go back and you look at the film, he wasn't able to step into the throw as he was releasing the ball. Jeffrey Simmons was hitting him on his lower body. So he couldn't get enough on the ball to get it over the top. If he let's that ball go, where, and he's able to put the kind of velocity on the ball that he wanted to put on it. If his lower body is unimpeded, Smithy walks in the end zone on that plus. So do you put that interception mostly on the line, but up front to dimplac? I mean, it didn't take that long for that play to develop, Joe. So there's no way that, you know, and now he could have climbed the pocket. But if he starts climbing the pocket, then that means that his accuracy is probably going to be off because he's not throwing off his front foot. But you can't, you, the offensive line has to give him time to be able to complete that because it wasn't like he was standing in the pocket that long. It wasn't like, you know, he's standing there and he's scammed the whole field. No, he knew where he wanted to go at the ball the entire time. He just couldn't get the velocity on it because he was hit as he threw

the ball. Brian, good call, bud. Glad you had fun down there and and appreciate you calling the show. So two huge quarterback injuries yesterday, Seth, although I know Chicago people are saying maybe Caleb Williams isn't as bad as initially feared. Just long as he's bad enough for Monday. Yeah. And then, you know, to be honest with you, I don't mean that because really what I want to see happen is I want to see the Eagles play this team at full strength because they embarrassed the hell out of them here in Philadelphia last year. I want to see them play the better teams at their best because they need that in order to prepare themselves as they move forward throughout the season and for the playoffs. But I will say, if he misses just one game, yeah, I'm all right with that. Really, I mean, for playoffs, seating, yeah, I mean, it's a it's a two game swing. I could have been made the difference last year because it had they won that Chicago game. Yeah. Maybe the seating would have been different. Maybe the whole situation could have been different. Yep. Now they just weren't ready to turn the corner and get it done. I one other injured. I know.

One other. Three points. Very impressive. There are Ben Johnson. What other injury from sports yesterday? Seth, I'm curious your thoughts. So the Phillies might play the Cubs in the playoffs in eight days, although it's more and more looking like it's going to be the braze. But if it's the Cubs, the Cubs second best player is this Alex Bregman. And he got hit with a foul a foul ball yesterday that hit him in the on deck circle, which is really rare. It's really, really rare that a player gets hit on the on deck circle and he could open his eye yesterday. So that is this guy. I'm sure for everyone listening right now, I'm showing Seth a picture of Bregman's eye posted something on social media. Is he going to be able to play a playoff game in eight days? No. No. If that eyes closed like that. And I'm pretty sure he's concussed. If he ain't, if he's not feeling the effects right now, he will be feeling the effects, you know, in the next couple of days. Because I mean, I'd be I'd be curious to know what the exit velocity of that ball was to hit him in the face. Like we know what

it is when they hit these home runs. Okay. Somebody tell me how fast was that ball moving when they hit him in the face. Right. You get hit in the face with a ball. I will say that the ball just for what it's worth. It was one of the softer looking like the guy didn't take a full swing part of why it hit him. The batter kind of stopped swinging and is a total check swing. Like it just grazed the bat, but it's still going to ricochet hard as hell to the guy. You know, so like it's a it's and really this is I mean, this is one of many reasons why we need the Phillies to not play the braves in the first round. I'm serious. Yeah. One of many. You have time for me to go. That was all Chris. Yes. The other one's called the Dodgers in the second round. I mean, look, as of now the Phillies in the first round could play one of three teams. The braves at the Phillies finishes the third wall card. The podgers were the cups. It's it's a free for all. But but I know nobody to blame but themselves. Just like this. I got just like I said last Monday when I sat

in this seat. They're so frustrated in the watch because it's like sometimes it can be absolute world beat is it other times you like looking at them like like what in the world like that bullpen game. Yeah. I was like how can you be a pitcher? How can you be a pitcher and you got you basically got one inning and you threw like 30 something pitches in one inning. Like you don't have any. It's hard to do. So I'm at the gathering only one a third. Didn't he only go like a third? Yeah. I'm like geez. And then they bring in the guy who just then they bring in the guy you know to to mop it up who's fresh off our airplane. You know, and he comes in with the bases loaded and he gives up a base hit the first pitch of you know is being a filling. I'm like oh my gosh. I'm like I can turn this off before I stick myself a knife with a spoon. I will I will say this. I love San Ches is fire when he got taken out. I thought that was I felt the same way. Love it. And here's the goodness. Yeah. All kin to side. Maddie Lee will give him longer in the playoffs. Yeah. He

looks like he's back. I mean, yeah, he looked good. Yeah. And like. No, but I'm telling you his face was my face in the fourth quarter yesterday. He was I risked, but you want to know why he was really tense. You want to know why though because he's been through such a bad stretch. Yeah. For him to have it going like that. Yeah. Players want to groove. Sure. You know that sensation. And when you're rolling like that. Right. Seven innings. 90 pitches. He's like, do leave me alone. I'm here. Yeah. But you know, but I know I know why he did. He's resting next week. You are my dude in the playoffs. And if I need you to go ahead, you're going eight. I get it. But he wants to he's trying to when you go through a tough patch. Right. We all go through a tough patch. I don't care what sports you play and who you are, you all go through a tough patch. You do. Look, I love speed to hammer twice in a row one time. Oh my God. So similar. No, I think two or three times. Two one five. Is that relatable, Joe? Can I just tell you remember? I told you the week before when

you lost. Yeah. I got, you know, I always put it on my Instagram. I got like 50, 60,000 years. Not as many when you win. Well, they're way more invested when you lose. the Eagles escape a brilliant come from behind final minute burst winning 24 to 20 they save a tremendous disappointment and their fans in mass at the stadium can go home happy all right that's uh merrill and mike obviously with the calls yesterday here on wip set you under with us right now so let's do some quick hitters here before we do Joe you can always tell when someone this great at doing something Merrill you really have a joy in it yeah to hear his voice man and you know I was heartbroken I couldn't come to his tribute last week last Tuesday but you can just tell that man lives for a Sunday afternoon you can just you can just tell his voice totally great I mean it's everything Eagles and elevating for the big moment yes Harry Callis had that Scott fransky had that has that I mean the elevation for a big thing

it's it's a great trait just knowing exactly what to say yeah how to say it in the moment totally like paying a picture for you like if your eyes were closing you weren't watching that game yep just the excitement that he exudes would just suck you in totally great all right so they got a few things here let's just rock and roll short answers if he can so we can move through a lot is wicks legit yes good the impact of sake sake want it a stinger what's the variance between out for a while and not how that normally goes I expect for him to be ready to go Monday night to the Eagles have a tight end problem yes I thought how big is that tight and massive because I thought that they should have you know we need one of those six five two forty guys that can not only block but also run run and catch the ball to is one thing to have month but he's one dimensional and everybody else behind him is you know is a jag yeah just another guy for this yes don't know what that means the impact of losing because normally the goes last couple years

been losing players defensively and it's been no big deal they just stream roll throw but they lost jalen Phillips the Kobe deed and read blank and ship are we seeing the effect no we'll be fine there's there's no doubt we'll be fine it you know Vic Fangeau has worked wonders the last two years 31 the first yeah top 10 last year it probably would have been top five if they hadn't started also bad they'll get it fixed all right let's do one more if the if the bears don't have Caleb Williams on Sunday how good are they without them they shouldn't have they they shouldn't have a shot yeah the thing that scares me more than Caleb with Caleb Williams is those two running backs because we can't control the running you know Ben Johnson's going to scheme up some stuff to put us in conflict we saw that last year yeah 200 something yards all right let's go to the phones he or in windfield T. Argon morning good morning who's saying hey John listen I have a question not much this um I suppose though um jalen has to go live in T. Fiko because we lost we lost we lost

on sparkly and we and we lost got it they need to go to those 27 so I think I put it in stuff you put it stuff under pressure with that so I'm thinking that I think we can continue to see him use his legs like even though now he put I'm trying to think he's starting to put a little comfortable with running now you know I mean that's that's what looks like to me now I those two in the section put something to say like by doing this game it's gonna be a problem so I think he I think we're going you know I think you're going to do good I think he's better now I think I think I'll let his ladies go a little bit more in my opinion well I you know what if he does I hope he stays safe I hope he protects himself that's the biggest factor for me I think I do think like Seth said I think sake one will be back and we won't have to worry him as much about having jalen do the the male carrying on the ground I hope we don't have to rely on that too much but he could do it uh and and have success and and be safe about it he's really good at that really really judicious unlike uh Drew Brazos commentary yesterday yeah oh lord let's so done let's get to

germel germel good morning good morning good morning good morning oh well if you're going to give me three of them I mean it's one to give me well darn I don't have my oh man I don't know the tiger woods ready my fault go ahead germel go ahead I screwed up so I blame Lewis coco for not properly setting my board up before the show but go ahead so I know self could really chime in on it I know these guys are a little sluggish and I think that comes from not playing preceding games like Seth did back in the day don't you think that that was the win on the defense and offense as well as like the defense tackling and then like the offensive line not getting together as much as they used to buy that South because the other teams are out there and they're a lot closer than we expected two weeks and I don't buy that as much you buy that I buy 100% you do listen there's a reason why you have training camp yeah training camp is to train it is to harden your body

camp training camp is to his he's so much more mentally sharp now in the doctor Laura so training camp is to harden the body for the regular season yep preseason games is to get you prepared for the football side of it so when you take away both of those aspects how is it that you think it's going to look in the preseason throughout the in the regular season throughout the first four games I get it I get it these four these four games are the new preseason but the same thing that all these teams are trying to prevent oh we don't want to get our guys injury we want to get them the week one look at how many injuries you had out you know so you can't prevent injuries I don't care whether it's in preseason regular season or off season they're gonna happen so you're much better off practicing your guys hardening their bodies doing training camp and if they get hurt in training camp would you rather have them

hurting training camp where they got time to come back rather than getting hurt in the in the regular season where you only got 17 of these games it makes no sense to me it makes no sense how you're going to play a game is physical and is taxing on your body as football is and not prepare for it from a physical standpoint and then getting a regular season and think because you've held them back from any kind of physicality during training camp in the preseason that they're not going to get injured and it makes no sense but I'm not saying it's a Nazi moron it's on the people making that decision aren't people who have done of course the camp part well of serion and how we didn't play pro ball but I know this they've overseen this sent this uh not sentry this decade a team that comes out of the gate strong almost every year I mean they they're threading the needle between we're not as prepared as we could be but we still win it's a it's a it's a game of law and averages okay they've been successful with it but it's biting them now okay you got a guard this on

inter-reserving you're playing this little game trying to figure out you know where you're gonna move your center of the guard here he got hurt and camp I mean he got hurt in a practice doesn't matter when he got hurt okay he's out now when it matters the most you tight in just you know hurt his knee yesterday and he gets hurt a lot you're running back you know got hurt and I know that that these things happen but that's football of course that's football but my whole point is you can't prevent injuries injuries happens and when it's gonna happen it's gonna happen and you not allowing the players to go full-board playing the preseason doesn't help one way or the other so just let them play hard in their bodies okay listen there's no reason in the world of football that players should go through a practice john and not have any kind of conditioning at the end of the practice like I was blown away when I went to practice and I saw that you know play if you leave it to the players they're not gonna do it exactly they're gonna go in and get on the bike

they're gonna you know jog on the treadmill no you should have organized conditioning after practice because if you're not conditioning for the upcoming games you're doing yourself a disservice and I know that you only have extra amount of time on the field okay but you tell your players that listen you know in order for us to be successful we got a condition so we might not be able to manage it but you guys get together after practice and run some striders and run some sprints and run some kind of stuff run some gases and I don't care what you say I understand that a walkthrough provides some x x is an o's understanding you're not getting conditioning doing walkthroughs you're not properly training to play football if you're if you're not out there wearing a helmet wearing cleats you know play football to practice you're not even you're not even getting it when you're going a hundred miles an hour or you think you're going to 100 miles a mile a mile an hour doing team because by the time you get there you throw it down the 30 down the 40 down to 20 so you can

tag the guy off instead of going to blast all right let's we got seven different things to get through four get out here so let's get the Twitter poll questions the day brought to us by arm and Chevrolet gas presses maybe hurting your budget visit arm and Chevy dot com to see the huge selection of arm and Chevy EV and stock visit arm and Chevy dot com John which emotion did you feel more after the game I felt exhilaration reaffirmed exhilaration initially but then relief an hour later set the exhilaration of relief right after the game no relief pure exhilaration John yeah I was really thrilled how do you think people voted boy 60% exhilaration 65% relief all right what stood out to you more from yesterday's game positives are negative similar last week the positive is but close 60% the positive 40% the negatives now Lewis Cokai need you to make a call as the producer of this show okay so this is where we would normally go to times yours yes but as you know and I know and we're the only two that know

Ruben Amaro just called in wants to say something about the Eagles he's on the phone so Lewis Ruben Amaro or times yours what do you say it's tough I mean I love Ruben I mean he is a part of the show maybe a little bit Amaro has down but I'm sure there's also part of the show yeah there's a lot of people like you get time yours I'm just I'm just times yours every single week put Ruben on so it looks like we're gonna have no times yours today uh Lewis save the calls for tomorrow we will save them I want the best calls on tomorrow show times yours when we do it such as tomorrow will be brought to his bi-exfinity proud sponsor of WIP's Exfinity mobile lounge watch all of your favorite teams all in one place Exfinity imagine that let's not hit it with times yours and let me put the pressure on Ruben out of the gate here total package better step up because we just bumped times yours for his ass let's see what he's got Ruben below well I appreciate that because I know that you didn't want me to come on so that's fine

but here's the deal this is what I want to say about that I wanted to talk about what's said and John we're talking about regarding the pretty season I love what you said there is nothing like practicing and playing to prepare you for the season and I totally agree with what you're saying I know it's different in baseball isn't in football but as far as getting your legs underneath your body prepared for the season to play in what is going to be a hundred percent effort you have to put yourself in a position you got to get on the on the field you got to get in your cleats you got to get on your legs you have to use your body yeah but don't believe in not what playing at all but Ruben all jokes aside obviously I was playing with you love having you own show what's the big butt here to your point there's no but I just want to give them some love but they're two yeah but they're two and oh anyway and Cereoni three the prior five years has

started four and oh in September and he might be on his way to another one like my I'm not disagreeing with John and Seth and Ruben what you're saying like you're right could they be more prepared yes but they are winning anyway and they are typically winning anyway so I do think some leeway is the process of where you are and where you truly want to be okay so they're working to where they want to be right now that's right where could they potentially be at this point if they practice the way that they need to practice I always felt you know I never I was always okay with hard practice is you want to know why because it's set the table for what it would be like in real game type situations you know and it's hard to duplicate I don't care how hard you practice it's never ever at the level of intensity that the game is so you practice you have to practice full speed the game in which you play because you cannot simulate or emulate the level

of intensity that it takes to play in the game type situation when the guy across from you is trying to take your head off your shoulder I rule we're low on time but you have a final word on it what he got I just want to I'm first of all congratulations the Eagles awesome win looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow but Seth I'm on spot on with you brother play the game prepare your body I just believe in that I'll never stop believing it I'm the old man on the lawn that I don't care the words out of my mouth Rubin I'll see you tomorrow but say well thanks Rubin my Twitter feed to be full of you get off my like kid out of here I think we're in a battle with Rubin tomorrow I'm just saying I know James was here he'd be with me they're doing it anyway I know can't be better than to know you just see you know you let him have his word you can you can dominate the teams that you're supposed to dominate yeah but all right and look around the rest of the league look at all the other injuries this going on yeah big time I know I'd sapped two thanks one we always love having you in here two

we always run out of times too fast three we didn't know that you could sing so malifluously until last week yeah that was beautiful I got a whole lot of we did we did an examination of your boys after the fact and it's like wow you got some skills I got a whole lot of skills you don't know about that oh that's my wife no seriously ask ask my wife is not it's not 100% what you're thinking like she when I told her when I told her last week that I actually sung on air she was like you did what you know I was like yeah I gave him a little taste you know I said and John was a little impressed yeah I said but you know there are things about me that's only for you you know like you keep that stuff to you know it's not 100% it's not 100% it's not 100% it's not 100% what you think either Joe because you know like there's a funny there's a funny
