Let's just get this over over with Adam because we're recording this like within I don't know let a half hour before the end of the game still is fresh I'm getting text messages after the game yet getting text message. We're getting social media tweets about it the decision of Nick Sireani on fourth and two to go for the touchdown to go up 17 points there Instead of taking the field goal go for three is the absolute correct decision and everything the Rams did validated it Because he was trying to end the game at 17 now if you go up 13 points there because you took the field goal then you just lose by

I asked some guys about it Unfortunately like when you're talking to guys who were right after that They need to watch it on tape themselves. They know that they messed out on an opportunity In fact a lot of them were talking about that was the game right there that fourth and and two play call was absolutely The game Like you said if they go up 17. There's no way the Rams win. They know it. They know they blew it

6:27But it sort of goes back to what we said again I guess it's the Bears game when Dalton came in and you allowed you called a play that yes Andy Dalton should have never ever thrown it. It's 90 80 whatever percentage you want to put on Dalton from Turn not seeing the deep safety But I loved your point like don't even let him have to make that decision coming in called off They can sprint right option with one one guy open or throw it away right and I would have probably had rather seen something a little bit more effective where you don't have guys running into each other Then they miss the the the tish push from a yard and a half. It was not a yard of this yard and a half was a little longer They still missed it. I was like wow. They didn't get it. It was kind of obvious. They're they're starting a They're starting to break down on offense and honestly their offense did Did next to nothing on the first half, but hurts didn't turn it over I just was I've just been a little bit underwhelmed with man. You know, I'm expecting more he doesn't control the injuries

7:31I understand that I know they didn't know until this morning that they were not going to have or potentially have Not have and they want to not having Lane Johnson they don't control that But the players you do have You need to take more better advantage of it. Okay, you I know it's tough for him He's a rookie play caller. He's dealt a very tough hand But you can do more we exactly what we talked about in our pregame show. He did not do Nuffo I like stack releases because the defense is no exactly where you're going I like that bunches Uh the motions very simple Now they had a great motion play for one of the runs which I liked But you saw hurts was part of the run game finally. I mean like we're trying to judge this guy in his fourth game when A one or two injuries is okay. I don't you know, but losing two

8:35Starting lineman one of them right before the game with Lane Johnson and we hope everything's all right with him And then obviously losing Barclay in the middle of the game no smitty like I get he had both hands Tied behind his back, but there are two things that stick out to me here Adam that you are hitting on and that I you know As the eagles get healthier. We're really gonna have to keep on is as they are Hopefully yeah, they can't get it. They can't get anymore unhealthy But as they get healthier like Yes, they are doing the concepts that we talk about with Sean men It's hard to under center and play action, but when they're under center they're running when they're in shotgun They're passing to your point like you're not seeing The you're not seeing anything that's giving the defense that much guesswork Okay, and I get it again. This is a bigger discussion for down the line But it was also not just this game. It was weeks one two and three We've seen the offense struggle. We know they're in an adaptation mode We know that there's growing pains we talked about in nausea, but I was Hoping by this point we would start to see better examples of hey that was a good under center play action pass

9:41Right where you explore the middle of the floor or you went shotgun and you whipped out one of those either hurts runs or Inside zones that surprised them because they thought you were gonna pass. 10:42You mentioned barkley obviously that was a major thing and then his backup gets hurt The end of the game with one running back now they they do a three running backs on the practice squad Geodon blue from the formerly the cabalys is explosive, but they were done with him for just lack of discipline and Carson steel I was an interesting player who catch the football if you remember what he did in the preseason And and and Damian pierces once a starting running back for the Texan so they have some guys They're obviously gonna have to add one if not two next week But can you imagine if the Eagles have to fly to London with Carson steel and jade on blue as their healthiest Or pierce I mean pierce has been here, you know for a while you've been here the longest of that room either way Yeah, he's got the most most looks in in practice and training camp. So Yeah, it's a tough deal. There's no question banyan is dealt with a tough deal As a coach you want to control the things that you know how to control you can't control Lime and you're you're top true running backs being out It limits what you can do, but there's something you could do with any amount of players that you have and that that's my

11:46One pet peeve, but when they had a full deck he wasn't really doing it very much. So you want to see that um The tight end thing is like they're See the thing is when you when you make trades whether it's receiver or tight end We're doing something When you make trades you're not doing it for three weeks. Is they're going to get these guys back Because you're not going to make up trades and the guys don't play anymore like they don't work that way If you're going to make a trade it's a guy's going to have a role here like the guy's going to play a lot That's the push pull with Smitty might not play next week Because he's had the same injuries had for nearly three months now You're now into the third month early august all sub all august almost all September now we're dropped over okay? Yeah um It's just it in the running game It's tough you can't get anything going it it's it's people want to blame hurts that's fine It's hard. It's it's you're limited. You just limit to what you can do Which you want to take advantage of what you have? Yeah, I think you you hit a point on the head I mean you can't watch this game and say hey jay on hurts played great

12:48Yeah, obviously didn't play great. He couldn't play great. I mean it was you know the The overloads on the right side of the line made it very difficult for them so many to even get a pass off The the one touchdown of the two that he threw was a terrible pass that Darius Cooper saved them with an unbelievable finger. That's got you. It took it out of leaks finger tips. That was amazing right Right um, but to your point the reason why They're going for it on fourth and two with a real chance to win that game if they go up 17 is because hurts did not turn the ball over and On a day like today with no personnel around you and the hits you is taking I thought that was very admirable That's the only thing I could say about the offense that was admirable, but that was Very admirable and we say that quite a bit about hurts his ability to Face a lot of adversity and limit turnovers even though the last few weeks he's had some this this game was about Ball protection being the utmost security because you can't give that other team extra possession We need to talk about we need to talk about I had mentioned the pregame I had no idea what the rain was going to be like you were at the game

13:50But Brady kept talking about the slick ball like you it's funny the fox cameras were covered in rain But it didn't rain hard right right was a misty Slip like it just you know, I was looking at the hourbrowers like point one point one rain point one rain I'm like, oh not the damn missed right and then Brady was talking about how tough it is Even it doesn't rain hard, but if it gets slick and You just darius Cooper fell Slipping a little bit the ball wasn't coming out of staffer's hands quick a well enough and also he he played like crap You know the Eagles defense was really good for two and a half quarters now the run defense Um, which is really good for a while in the game then they started It started diving missing tackles Caron Williams got shut down for a while then He got the game. He got done. He was really great in the end Yeah, and I mean I give finally Finally showing me pay beat the seriani But it wasn't easy the Eagles kind of gave it to him, but we understand why because they didn't they didn't control a lot of it

14:53injuries I think Adam when I look at this game knowing what they were up against One loss week four. I get it. It's two straight losses for them and they're two and two and it's still so early in the season They were two and two the Super Bowl year, but I have so I have less concern about this actual loss and some of the elements of it that we're talking about and more about Holy cow how are the next few weeks going to be looking like? I mean we have no idea what's going to be the status of Lane Johnson again. We hope everything is okay with them That obviously hurt them to not have him at the last minute like that and now you've got guys Dropping like flies both on offense and defense who knows what it's gonna look like And then this team has kind of been hit with the pop-up injuries throughout the week for the last few weeks too So you're you're trying to get as many wins you're trying to as a team come together You're trying to learn your new offense improve on defense and yet it's always like a couple of steps backward with all these injuries So I have major concern there and I do you and I'm sure you're gonna agree with me because we already talked about this

15:53The Eagles are skating on thin ice with their bottom roster management and their elevations They did not elevate an offensive tackle knowing Fred Johnson was gonna be out They didn't know about Lane Johnson, but they knew Fred Johnson was already out So that means you only have one backup tackle who's the rookie Mark Helbell right who was really just the right tackle What do you if imagine if Jordan Milada or if Bell Had gotten hurt in this game where everybody was getting hurt and the rain Well, they would have had they would have had to move Tyler Steen the only guy who's probably played tackle before yeah And then really lamping at the other guy. I mean it would have been even more of a disaster than it was They've got to figure something out. They cannot continue to skate by this way without a really backfiring on them Yeah, so On your point about that Let's just kind of reveal where they're at on both sides of the football With the injury situation and what has to happen remember they're playing in London next week our time 9 30 a.m. Eastern Oh boy, this is it's a tough deal. 16:54Smitty with a hamstring. I'd be surprised if you played This is the same injury again as we outlined freeze had for over eight weeks Yes, and get better by playing on it. Okay. Yeah, nothing like sitting on a 12 hour flight eight to 12 hour flight with a bum hamstring That's not easy tough deal tough deal. Hollywood Brown Who got hurt last in less weeks practice With the ankle injury so we don't know if it's high ankle or not, but they could have used him He kind of he probably because they don't have anyone could run really downfield. That's 10 yards Wix is sort of like an intermediate area run-in for the catch guy, but they need they need a verticality and he's really not that guy Right He's they look good, but it's getting harder and harder because these have been more for more of a role Uh, and then you mentioned Lane Johnson is personal issue Well, you know, we'll we'll see about next week Fred Johnson who got hurt Last week's practice with the knee injury. We don't know exactly what it is That's concerning Let me see defensively granard with ankle did not return it for getting hurt

17:55He did start for the first time by the way. He did start the game A couple quality rushes. Is that wrong with the concussion? He needs to get cleared. Quinney. I So when put it out there that they had they were playing they had place with a fullback and trying to get that that's not true They would have their they would have the F tight end offset and it looked like yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm tight in that's not a time no no You're just you're just taking them putting them in a different like yeah, yeah, that's that's called the F position In fact, earths did a lot with Goddard when they played together Um alright, so defensively now by the way real quick. In season trading for safety doesn't work right you should you have to be careful They have to understand the west coast terminology if you're gonna do that. It's like Why would you trade for this guy? I mean he I I wouldn't want him but yeah Good luck. That's the problem is that some of the areas where the Eagles really use a Like an offensive like a guard to play left guard right no, it's trading a good left guard in the middle of the year You're not gonna you know that's not gonna happen Um, and there are certain spots like cornerback. It's hard to find a really good corner. We get that good sauce So our skardner is is a once in a lifetime thing because it's even get how he's not given up to first round fix for it Net net but what I would say was depending on the severity of these injuries that changes everything If these are serious Okay, if these guys can be at long term then then then you have to throw a little bit of caution to win go Hey listen, we're gonna need a pretty good player here. Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say is depends on The type of player looking for the position
