Peace to the planet is Monday! Good morning, how y'all feel out there? I feel blessed black and holly fave but happy to be here. Another day to serve our beautiful listeners. Good morning, man. Good morning. Good morning. How you feel we want to be here? Because we do. I feel good. Yes. I want to be here. Oh my god. I want the Lord to strike me down. Guess what I just found out. Oh my gosh. Jesus' father name was John. Didn't I know that. And I did not grow up. For real. Nobody talks about us earthly father like that. I didn't know I was really going back and forth with my husband. And Chris, I didn't know Chris knew. I'm like, why were you talking about John? And he's like John the Baptist. That was Jesus' father. Like, you know what? That was his earthly father. And I'm like, no. God put the baby in a Mary. You know? He wasn't conceived regularly. Like we can see babies. You know what I'm saying? So I didn't know he had no other father. All I know was just, you know, God Jesus Christ. No, with three chipmunks too. With Alvin. You know what? Shut up.
No. You know what? I'm just saying Santa Claus got a stomach too. First of all. He looks down and can't see his penis every morning. It is. No, I didn't know that. So sorry, Lord. Oh, congratulations. Well, salute to everybody. I've seen it tomorrow. I am yesterday. A best friend of mine. You know what I'm showing. I mean, Danny. Danny. I mean, I met Danny probably about 2002. And he was right. He's been right on when he since. So he got married over the weekend. A beautiful ceremony. I love weddings. It's just positivity. It's just, you know, alcohol. It's just dancing. Of course. That's all I remember about Danny. Of course. Did Danny still drink heavily? Uh, he does it. But last night during the ceremony as they were walking down the aisle before they did. They had a shot, shot, shot part. And during the ceremony, they gave everybody like the little shots of a tequila before he got in. That's all I think about. All I'm, I'm imagining Danny with a big bottle of petroleum in his head. Because when we used to go up back to the date, that's what he used to do. He's just just drank petroleum to the face.
Yo, there was a shot before they said their vows before he was down the aisle for real. Yes, though. Yes. Yes. He eats his own. Congratulations. Did he go off script? Did it feel like he went off script? No, no. It was playing. And then he read their own vows. And it was just beautiful. It was the weather was perfect. It wasn't too hot. It wasn't too breezy. It was just an amazing, amazing day. So salute to Danny and Emily. Congratulations on your marriage. That's beautiful. I went to go see Hopper this weekend, man. See what that is. My wife wanted to take the girls to go see Hoppers. Hoppers is a new movie from Disney Pixar. And it is amazing. Nice. Okay. It is amazing. It makes you want to recycle. It's about a young woman named Mabel and Mabel just loves nature. And I mean, I'm not giving no more of the movie away, but she loves nature. Like really, really, really, really loves nature in a real way. And it's a dope movie because it's just a reminder that, you know, we as humans in this earth, we're all just one entity. And we don't act like that. And the way you treat the earth is really, you know, how you treat yourself
and how you treat other people. Because the earth is a living organism as well. Right. Absolutely. So if you don't respect the earth, you really don't respect yourself or other people. And Mabel really respects the earth. Because when you were a kid, I don't know if you guys did, but I kind of feel like the earth was our garbage. I was garbage. I suppose you just owe things out the car. I know it would be so distant. No, I know that. I was just starting to love me. I think I love the car. I learned not to read that very young. I learned not to read it very, very young. I never felt like that. Never. That might, that's probably a queen thing, but we never did that. I even felt like what else did. When I used to pee outside, you know, I'm saying growing up in the country, most corner saw a client, I was giving back to the earth. We are one. That's why I don't understand all the people that I like to tear down these forests to build all these franchises. Okay? Because you need, you know, trees. There's this thing called photosynthesis. Okay. Oxygen. We all need each other here on this planet. You think we all weren't. On the A.S. Pean outside was great. That was something you give back to the earth. Listen, show Google that. Then show come in the radio and say it too. We say to gas what I learned, y'all. What? Okay, tell me right now.
Pean. It's fertilizer. Oh, so you, everybody, you just go pee outside to give back to the earth and fertilize it. If you do it's fertilizer, yes. I'm sorry, yeah. You did it, alright? Let's get this show back. J.G. and Terry Lewis, the icons and legends will be joining us. Oh, my God. Produces right as you know I'm from everybody from Michael Jackson to Jenny Jackson to us. She's just the name of you We're gonna be kicking it with them in a little bit and then we got front page news, but today It's Bauwau's birthday. What do you want to play? Yes, I know you so excited about this Oh here we go is let me hold you down by Bauwau in Omarion who are on tour right now and get the album to drop much Spirit it's a breakfast club. Come on. It's just going to hell. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no No, no, so it's father name is not John. It's father name is Joseph. I'm sorry. When you come in with these facts You don't it's not even a thing. This was a I didn't know moment this morning envy I didn't know nobody like I said nobody really be talking about his earthly father because you still didn't know I'm like that. No, I didn't know I thought it was John and his Joseph the wrong J so Jojo Joseph and Mary were his parents
Well, salute to Mimi Brown for correcting you. Thank you me. Oh, yeah, thank you Mimi for page news. Here we go. Let's get in some front page news. What's up, Mimi? Good morning. Good morning. How y'all doing this morning? I'm good. Thank you, Mimi. Good morning, Mimi You you are welcome. Good morning. So we start with the war in Iran this morning I'm hold on sorry having technical difficulties. Okay, so we start this morning and with the war in Iran as it continues this morning So what we are learning is that the president and And oh my goodness y'all sorry. Okay. Sorry. We started this morning with the word I ran on multiple fronts the Middle East is under siege so the war between the United States Israel It is now in its 10th day. Iran is officially named a new supreme leader. That's the most powerful position in the country So the new leader is the is 56 year old 56 years old. He is the previous supreme leader. He is his son. He's widely seen as a hardliner He's expected to take a tough stance toward the United States and Israel. So meanwhile president Trump he says the US should have a say so and who leads Iran
But Iran of course they are pushing back on that saying that is not going to be the case But over the weekend US and Israeli forces they launched new strikes inside Iran targeting oil depots fuel storage sites and other energy infrastructures in the city of Iran So the video coming in it shows massive explosions Firelighting up the skyline officials say four depots and other major petroleum sites They were hit But at the same time Iran they are striking back a drone. It struck the uh Got a government building on fire in Kuwait the US military is now confirming that a seventh US member US troop is dead Bringing the bringing the total number to seven NBC News they asked Iran's foreign minister his thoughts on a ceasefire and this is what he had to say US military you know installations facilities bases who are attacking us. We are under attack Why don't you you know recognize this this fact we are under under the attack
But US forces in the region so we have every right to defend ourselves and how to defend ourselves We attacked you know the the the US bases. This is obvious. This is a very simple fact and I hope that and I'm sure that people Would understand that we are not the one who attacked Americans. We are only defending ourselves So we will go ahead now. I just gonna say so America knows that it's probably never going to be a ceasefire and it's never going to be no peace If the leader that they installed is the son of the man that you killed Yes What are we doing for sure? But meanwhile President Trump says there will be no deal to in the war He's actually calling it. He wants an unconditional Surrender that's what he said and he was acts aboard Air Force one what that means and he was also asked about Russia And if they could be sharing intelligence with Iran and what that could mean for military sites Let's listen to both of those responses
It's where they cry out or where they can't fight any longer this nobody around to cry out We engage in the Russians not to say targeting information and other assistance to the Iranians if they are It's not helping but you take a look at what's happened to Iran in the last week If they're getting information It's not helping. What would it mean to you if they were? I mean, even if it's not helping the Iranians particularly much Still involving themselves into conflict. They're not I guess they'd say we do it against them, wouldn't they? Yeah, and that responds getting a lot of pushback this morning Some some critics say it's not strong enough And meanwhile while the fighting continues. There's growing questions about US troops and if they could be sent on the ground in Iran Officials say the president he is quietly discussed deploying ground troops in the area But that possibility is raising even more questions specifically about a US draft and could that happen if the war expand
So the White House they address that question on Fox News this weekend. Let's listen to press secretary Caroline love it Mothers out there are worried that we're going to have a draft that they're going to see their sons get in and and daughters get involved in this What do you want to say about the president's plans for troops on the ground as we know It's been largely an air campaign up until now It has been and it will continue to be and president trump wisely does not remove options off of the table I know a lot of politicians like to do that quickly But the president as commander in chief wants to continue to access The success of this military operation the president again wisely keeps his options on the table So White House is not ruling out a potential military draft But I ran for its part says that it is ready for troops on the ground The country says that they have been preparing for years for the possibility of US troops entering the country Warning that it would quote be a disaster for American forces if that were to happen
I mean everything is just about to give so much worse man like I was reading that story about How to trump white house block the joint intelligence bulletin from the FBI Other warned local law enforcement about increased terror threats linked to the Iran conflict And then yesterday you saw the Kansas City Airport get evacuated You know, I heard about was it was it was a plane that had a somebody said there was a bomb on it Was that a I think I was going to Nashville or somewhere I think that was Friday. Yeah, I think that was Friday Yeah, with the video everybody had to put their hands up and head down Yeah, it's just too is this too much going on. Yeah, there's a lot. Yeah Yeah, definitely a lot um, and you know, there's a report also showing to your point I came out that said taxpayer to spending one billion dollars a day Your money on this right? So there's that we talked about gas last week going up 30% and then there's another report saying that Jet fuel is on the rise meaning if you're going to travel for spring break for summer just anywhere tickets are about to skyrocket So a lot happening I mean here at home Donald trump met all expectations
I mean for everybody who said how terrible he was going to be like I've never seen a person since LeBron James meet all expectations Of somebody's prediction of them This was this is this is It would be impressive if it wasn't so sad Hmm, I will come out of it seven if you thought um speaking of airplanes if you thought your line seats were already questionable a little dirty Wait to you hear what sparking the latest debate we're gonna talk about it All right, and everybody else get it off your chest eight hundred five eight five one oh five one If you need to vent phone lines or wide open call us up Let us know how you weekend was it's the breakfast club. Oh, I was already corrected Behind the scenes Mimi Brown from front page news. She definitely told me she was like no John is Jesus cousin girl Joseph is as far as I was like old boy back Bolton for our community college. No, that's not where I learned church dumbass Sorry Yeah, my bad brother He cared for him and everything so I'm like, yeah, thanks John about this He baptized Jesus for him to start his minister Right, okay, if he bad time or he baptized him. All right cool. So yeah Yeah, John the back John the Baptist baptized Jesus to start his men He paved a way for him to start who he is as a messiah. Oh, so then he was like a spiritual father then So I'm trying to fix it. I mean, it was still only just can come here in front of me to piss off Christians early

Man look at those when they got an oil change my normal oil guy He said slip of my hundred dollars every time he gave me together. He had to charge me four types of honey 35 dollars is just going up on yeah
Hey, the president Donald Trump said that he was going to make the economy right on day one And he wasn't going to bring us into no new wars and he actually absolutely bought us in the new wars that caused the the prices in the economy to shoot up and they were I've never seen anything Over the weekend I've never seen anything like this man. I've never seen a person meet all expectations last time I saw this was Lebron James Lebron James Was as good as people said he was going to be and Donald Trump is as bad as people said he was going to be So I would say that but it's too much for the radio
You too now hello, who's this? Emani PC money from hey, I'm calling from Long Island, New York Okay, get it off your chest mama So I heard just talking about her not really understanding or just a misunderstanding about the bible so I wanted to shy out a movie or Netflix It's called a book of parents It's someone out there, you know, you're trying to understand the bible a little bit more just a little bit more about Jesus in a different way It kind of just puts it in a more like urban perspective My child have gotten into it It's just it's just to help people you know that are struggling or downing anything with faith or just don't know I'm gonna be honest with you and she she do not need to watch the book of clairs like she need the she need to like the my book of Bible studies That the whole witness is gave out with the pictures like something basic the book of clairs She used her the book of clairs book of shoes are man. No, it's not that I didn't understand or anything or that I just
Didn't know that Joseph was his earthly father. That's all you know I said John at first, but it was the wrong name But no, I know a lot about the bible. I just didn't know that Joseph was my man's father That's all I ain't even know that but you ain't go act like you didn't say John the bad I said John It's like and they get mad at people for bringing it up. I'm not I don't need I don't misunderstand anything. I just didn't know. That's all he mind No, I didn't No edible Get it off your chest eight hundred five eight five one on five when we come back We got the latest with Lauren. What's up Lauren? Good morning. Yes, we do. We're gonna get into Rihanna There was shots fired at her home and I have the latest on everything that went down You dressed like they were too close today You know save a two from the x-men. She dressed just like this. Yes. I mean I'll be 70 degrees today. Why are you wearing that heavy? Because I didn't want to go. I didn't it isn't and I didn't want to go fully warm outside because I just got finished
So I gave it that jacket and she had to wear it on show What's the brand? It's like pretty little thing or something. Oh, okay. I don't believe it. No, right Yeah, I believe in black She dressed just like saber-tooth You're talking about cool bitch. Yeah, I'm not dummy myself down being myself I'm the home-guided host a little bit about everything And a little brown girl's looking to and go I'm gonna be like The latest Good morning y'all So really scary scene that happened yesterday at Rihanna's home So when the news first broke there were like small reports. I saw it just on x first and it was like shots fired Rihanna's home and I'm like there's nobody this can be real So I reached out to LAPD and Beverly Hills Police and at first when they first
Sent out any information all they said was they confirmed that there were Shots that were fired they got the call at 115 p.m. And responded by 121 They said that they got on scene that there were no injuries And that the suspect was found and taken into custody But they said nothing else and then all of a sudden all these details started Releasing from the LA Times because the LA Times her police dispatch audio So they updated with not only were shots fired there were 10 shots that were fired at Rihanna's home yesterday The shots were fired from across the street from her home out of a car Now at least one of the rounds penetrated a wall of Rihanna's home and there were other rounds that were found in a Like a RV that she had parked outside of her house And I'm assuming that's the RV that her and Rocky used remember when they did that drive up the coast Remember that but and then another place on her home Now they do mention that when they arrested the suspect who they are Describing as a 30-year-old female That the gun was found now There are some outlets reporting and again, police have not confirmed any of this
This is all based off of the LA Times and the audio that they're saying that they heard And their law enforcement sources, but police won't confirm this to me But they're saying that when they pulled over this woman It was about 30 minutes after their original 911 call came in She was parked outside of Rihanna's house and allegedly that shooting happened from her car. It was a white Tesla A helicopter observed the test the Tesla pull off And they followed this Tesla to a shopping center and Sherman Oaks Which is like not too far away from Beverly Hills It's probably about like maybe 20 minutes if that And that's where they arrested her now they Described the car it was a cream or they described what she was wearing She was wearing a cream colored blouse Her car was dirty at the bottom. They say and the suspect's hair was in breath It's how they described it. It was probably dirty too That's horrible man. First of all, I'm glad that nobody in Rihanna's house was hurt Okay, because you know that could have been a very bad situation Her house was targeted right you shoot as somebody's out 10 times you're targeting that person in that house now Here's the thing. I mean, so I used to live in LA and there's always these videos that go viral of like
Tour buses pulling up to Rihanna's home and she'll come out and she'll say hey, you know Rihanna It's like I mean, I've never met her before but I know you guys know her and everyone has always said that she's like very interactive And a lot of her neighbors even after this shooting took place. I were interviewed by local outlets We have one from Fox LA Talk about the fact that like up how scary it was but the fact that people know she lives there And like she does like she's open to Speaking to people when they pull up so it's like targeted But also the fact that everybody knows she lives there So it's like trying to figure out the motive which police haven't talked about it's going to be a thing as well To ballastica listen to a Fox LA clip I have one of her neighbors reacting to when he heard the bullets Bam bam and it's like it's a pretty unmistakable sound Bam bam bam bam bam bam like probably 10 shots Wow, and it's just one of those things. It's like that's not a car back firing. That's not fireworks That's a my shooting gun as it turns out it was I came running out. I we both said did you hear that? I said hit the floor because you never know like how close it is, you know You could always get hit by a stray. No, I'm not gonna lie. He lied
What he said he came running out then he said he told somebody hit the floor Which one wasn't my bike? Which one wasn't my guy? Maybe you did both like the same time I by the way if somebody if I hit gunshots, I'm not running out You know Why did he say he ran out and then he told somebody hit the floor? I don't know But there was there were more comments in the post And there was another person that said that they came running out their home as well So I think it's because in that neighborhood they're not really used to hearing that So they knew it was something and they were trying to figure out what I don't know But there was another person that said they ran out their house, too But I'm not running out my house if I hear but yes, glass. She's okay. I always wanted to know I always wanted to know how does those companies get away with it for like the tea TMZ company Driving to celebrities houses like I've never understood how you get away with that Well TMZ TMZ doesn't go to celebrity's homes That is the number on rule on their tour bus You're not allowed to go to celebrity's homes and probably for reasons like this so that when things happen You're not in the conversation of like why people know that the celebrity lives there You still work on them buses, right? That's how I started yeah I started giving tours on the bus ace at Rocky. What up everybody is Dean Jay and me from the breakfast club Now you know me and my wife married 24 years and together over 30 and yes
We still speak on the phone every day. I mean the early days. I didn't have a cell phone I couldn't afford a cell phone and the cell phones were like the size of a A man's purse, but anyway, I love speaking to my wife over the phone people say we talk too much But that's my best friend. Why shouldn't we be able to talk all the time all day long 24-7 But did you know that 2026 will mark the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the first ever phone call It took place March 10th 1876 and that call sparked it all for the first long distant phone lines The first lines across America the first line across the Atlantic the first round the world called the first commercial cell service The first 911 system AT&T has been connecting people for 150 years in so many different ways Thank God we have cell phones. Um, you just tell stories throughout highly with some of the biggest restaurants where they seen certain things And where then you talk about the Michael Jackson call that happened when Michael Jackson passed away and never nobody's You know we thought that those were like a celebrity sighting toys and y'all were like on a safari You kind of are on a safari and you cite people like I've when I was doing it I Mariah that's actually how I got into the newsroom because I would run into celebrities and interact with them So well, but I ran into Mariah Carey on Like the the street next row day old drive is not real. We now like we weren't allowed to go down I ran into it's at Rocky. I ran into so many people on that tour But we don't go to homes, but in LA That's what I'm seeing the way that Rihanna is people will be so astonished to see her and grocery stores or whatever That's normal in LA you can run into celebrities anymore wish she live at that's very dangerous. Yeah I want to see where she's one of you know, like she's one of the top celebrities that we know, you know It's just dangerous to know exactly where she lives very dangerous and I'll be in contact with the police over there trying to figure out what they
Determined motive wise and just any other updates. So there will be more here unfortunately, but that's so scary So miserable You got to be just to pull up the somebody's house and want to let off 10 shots for for no reason I was gonna say it could be that but also what I was thinking about to it So I remember some years ago. I think it was like 2018. There was a guy that broke into Rihanna's house And he got like of course he was locked up and all that but he spent like 12 hours in her house And that happens with celebrities a lot Somebody that did that to me be here. That's talking. She can't break it in his house But now I mean it's not okay if it's just Rihanna or just Rihanna It's that but they have babies now. They got three babies in there. So like you know, I just can't imagine Being there. We don't know who was home with her. We just know everybody Even if it is it was a mental illness is like all right, you You targeted her house. It's her house. You why wouldn't you just go to any of house? You went to her house Yeah, it's not like it's not like celebrities haven't been
You know tragically taken by fans before Selena you think about John Lennon like you know, you know, sadly. Yeah, that is scary So I'll keep you guys updated on the latest with everything that's happening over there And just I mean, I'm sitting on prayer still cuz I I'm don't she's so scared Absolutely, all right. Well, thank you so much now when we come back we got front page news And don't go anywhere and don't forget Jimmy Jim and Terry Lewis will be joining us in a little bit It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Morning. Everybody is DJ and V just hilarious. She'll remain the guy We ought to breakfast club. Let's get back in some front page news with something maybe Good morning, and V just she'll remain. How y'all doing this morning? Me Good morning, so we start this hour in New York City where please say a live homemade explosive device It was set off outside the mayor's residence during a protest over the weekend Now investigators say the device confirmed by the NYPD bomb squad was a real explosive device that could Seriously cost some injury or even killed someone now the chaos it unfolded Saturday outside Gracie Manchin as an anti-Muslim protest
And a much larger group a counter protest. They had a clash Protesters say that you know, they were disagreeing with the It's what's going on in Israel and but police say that situation unfolded so quickly and that arrests were made Here's NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish with more on the investigation The devices which were a bit smaller than a football Appeared to be a jar wrapped in black tape Importantly with nuts bolts and screws along with a hobby fuse that could be lit a counter-protester Identified as a mere balatt and 18-year-old man Lit and through an ignited device toward the protest area Witnesses reported seeing flames and smoke as it traveled through the air Mr. Balatt then ran southbound and gets a second device from a man tentatively I did as ibrahim Nick 19 years old mr. Balatt lights the device and starts running with it
He then drops the device on the west side of east end avenue officers immediately secured the area And they took both men into custody Do we know why i was outside the mayor's house maybe i was just because that's what the protest was That was just where the protest was to my understanding A total of six people were arrested during the confrontation including one person who's accused of using pepper spray And three others who were accused of disorderly conduct now There was some back and forth whether the mayor and his wife were home They were inside the residence at the time both are safe and now the FBI joint terrorism task force They are now involved in part because Investigators say one of the suspects they reference ISIS during their questioning and the protesters were against the war, right? Yes, so the person who threw the bomb was for the war. I'm confused. I got on So so to my understanding The it was there was there was a clash between those who were against the war and those who were for the war now Yeah, the person who threw the bomb. I think that's with the investigation is going on
I think they're still trying to figure all of that out Right because it all happened so fastly fast now is this the first thing that happened there because I thought they said last week It was something else that happened there another time when he wasn't there so oh this one That's a great question envy. I'm not sure. I know this is the first one where there was a live bomb that was used You know that was actually something that could be detonated that could actually cross some harm Which is why this one is making you know national headlines this morning very scary. Yeah very very scary Um, and now it's a Cleveland a heartbreaking case is unfolding. They are police say it's 28-year-old mother She is now facing two counts of aggravated aggravated murder Um, after the bodies of two young girls were discovered buried in a suitcase girl Yeah, the mother or the discovery was made last week by a dog walker who spotted the suitcases in a field near a local high school and called the police investigators say the girls have been placing two separate suitcases And buried in shallow graves now authorities they have I identified the victims as a ten-year-old
Amar Wilson and eight-year-old Mela Chapman they say that they were Sisters now officials have not released the cause of death and detectives say the investigation is still unfolding Meanwhile the father of one of the girls is speaking out this morning. Let's listen to some of his emotional testimony I just feel useless. I couldn't say my daughter when it was something so simple just give me her We feel a stress giving here. I've been trying to get her for six years You've been decking me you told me I was too bad. I'm the orientate. That's why you ain't giving my daughter Been trying been trying to be taught to see. He has numerous occasions. I don't know how long she been gone I don't know how long she been dead. I don't know how long she been missing But it could have been forbidden. Yeah, I just don't know how you come to that conclusion as a parent I mean all of us got kids in this room I just don't even know how your mind works like that You know that I need to say that my children would be better off dead than in the custody of somebody else No, since no, absolutely not and so that mom now is behind bars
The investigation is continuing. Please are not asking anyone who may have had security camera footage or information from that area to come forward as Investigators work to piece what happened Yeah, and switching gears a little bit I know we were talking about this the last hour Have you seen that viral video of passengers on the southwest air line raising their hands while please walk through the cabin So look it up just it was going viral. It's literally probably as soon as you open your timeline It'll probably pop up so that looked very very scary But here's the context behind that so the the Southwest flight it was diverted it was heading to Fort Lauderdale Being diverted from Atlanta after passengers became concerned about a man's behavior on board But officials say it turned out to be a misunderstanding So the passenger had simply set a timer on his phone. So he would know when it was time to pray for Ramadan Police said They met the plane when it landed in southwest of the crew It diverted the flight out of abundance of caution And they apologized to the passengers for the delay, but that's that's literally all it was
They heard a police who's who's seen them set the time and say he had a bomb on Well, I don't know that came from passengers, but but who called the police were the flight flight attendants the flight attendants Definitely called the police on that. So It turned out to be just someone setting their timer so they knew when to pray Hey, I mean listen Tension anxiety is high right now, man people are scared to death and you know you got an administration as you know Telling the FBI and DHS not to inform local law enforcement of threats and you know you hear things about what happened at Gracie Manning you see what happened to cancer the airport Yeah, you know, it's not right because that's that's profiling But still I but like you said anxiety and anxiety is high. I'm gonna say something. That's what you telling me to do I'm saying some people don't want to take any chances these days better be safe and sorry So I'm and also staying on southwest so if you flown recently maybe if you flown southwest recently you know that um You know sometimes when you get it on the seats you get on the flight
It's not exactly the cleanest, but now southwest airlines. They are facing backlash after reports have come out That they may start prioritizing cleaning the more expensive seats while doing less the clean the seats on the back of the plane Why don't we know this we should even know this No, we should not but it gets better So according to information that leaked from inside the airline Southwest has been experimenting with a new cleaning approach that is designed to speed up how planes can quickly turn around and get back You know back into the air so under the approach the deeper cleaning would focus mainly on the extra leg Room seats for the front of the plane and the seats that cost more those are the seats that cost more while the rest of the cabin may only get You know like a just a quick once over so that means flight attendants would still pick up the trash straight in the cabin But there are concerns and things like tray tables arm rest seats in the economy might not get the same level of cleaning in between flights So a union leader representing southwest airlines. They said that that is not true with spreading online But some are comparing it to the Titanic where the wealthy passengers enjoy luxury while everyone else is left
In worse condition so Yeah capitalism is ruined us and I don't I don't believe that story And the reason I don't believe that story because I just don't think that's How your mind would work if you work on a Southwest flat. I'm just going to clean the front But after back like people aren't going to complain like no, nobody's doing that. Yeah, that's Yeah, well, that's what they are that's what they're saying I've seen it a couple of times But and there's a lot of things going on with Southwest right now like extra But you know, they since they did the free seating now people are complaining about there's no bin storage people are complaining that You know, if you put your child in row two, you're all the way back in row 40. So they're having some some trouble lately in the press Yeah, that'll figure it out what happens Well god bless Southwest and god bless spirit. Okay. I I know what the spirit got into it. I'm just you know god bless. Yeah, man god bless those greyhound buses in the sky Yeah Okay
Maybe from Alaska by the way And so I got to rip Alaska Airlines. They always hold me down. You know, it's crazy I never even thought about flying Alaska Airlines because in my mind the only go to Alaska. No And that's the catch that flight to LA. It's a flight like they got like two main flights to LA every day I used to catch it. Not Alaska's all right. Yeah, it's good. I heard it's cold on the place of that trip. It's not That's from Yes, thank you. All right. That's your front page news Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV All right, everybody else when we come back Jimmy Jim and Terry Lewis will be joining us So don't move Mr. Breakfast Club. Good morning The guy we are the breakfast club Law and the Rosa is here as well. We got some special guests in the building who we got who we got Some legends they back this their second time on the show Ladies and gentlemen Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Welcome. Hi guys. Thank you for having us. Well, how y'all feeling first and foremost? Oh, feel great, man. You know
Busy. I like that. But if I'm not busy, I got to get busy. Yeah being busy. Yeah, so that's just what it is I always say the others reach out to you guys like they should I mean because you put up so many hits on the board so many so many points on the scoreboard I wonder if the younger artists really say you know what I got to tap in with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Sometimes sometimes I mean what happens now is because so many of the artists are tapping into the 80s and the 90s They're either sampling our stuff or they'll just call and say hey, we could get down with me and do some stuff You know, so yeah, so that definitely is happening which I think is very cool And if you don't know if you're just joining us Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Icons. Let's dig work with artists from Janet Jackson Michael Jackson Prince Usher Miragey Blossom Mariah Carey Everybody man new addition shotgun Contoni Braxton wow her S. O. S. Bay and Yolanda Adams just to name a few I don't even like to say that y'all worked with those artists those artists worked with y'all Well, yeah, because y'all did y'all shape culture There was a there was a period where y'all sound is what absolutely
Pivotibli shape culture. It's a team sport. You know, it's a team sport I mean we work with really talented people. I always say we work with talented people. They make us look good You know, so that's what it is and it's a team sport even you know us being here with y'all today because we could make all the music We would want to and if there wasn't a delivery system where people could actually hear it without y'all talking us up For playing our songs and that That's it's like to treat the falls of the force and nobody knows about it. So Terry as a theory on that he says We don't make hits. We just make music Y'all make it hit everybody everybody makes it the whole ecosystem. Yeah, yeah, do you think producers today still shape Culture the way that y'all did or has like the algorithm replaced The producer ear so to speak. I don't think algorithms will ever replace anything That's just people who don't know having a way to know something Uh still it comes from the gut man what makes people feel something what makes the hero on your arm stand up
You know make you get goose bumps. That's that's what moves the needle all the rest of it man Is this people talking about things that they don't know nothing about? Yeah, it went that way this way Trending is trending that way, but it didn't always trend the way that you wanted to go or what you think is gonna do and if Someone knew that equation. Oh, man. Everybody have a hit Everything they do would be you know, we just recently had Teddy Riley appear right we were talking about the new jack swing ever And we talked about Teddy and keep and I was I was thinking of myself Shouldn't Jimmy Jim and Terry Lewis's name be added to creating that new jack swing sound And do you have a feel way when sometimes you guys have not mentioned in that in that creation of that I feel like Teddy is a king of new jack swing Meaning that he took that style patented it and gave us something to all be a part of it or follow along with it I feel like the first new jack swing song although there was no title for it There was no moniker for it. It's probably Janet Jackson nasty. Yeah, which was caught which was control album
Which is 40 years ago this year so we saw make everybody feel old 40 years ago that album came out But that's I think that and I remember the first time we heard I won her By Keith and I remember we were with baby face in L.A. We were just hanging out in a club and we that song came on And we all thought it was nasty at first because like the little tiny little synthesizer parts And then baby face said I know L.A. said. Oh, no, that's key sweat. That's key sweat. And I said oh yeah, key sweat That's that's dope. I like that. And then baby face goes. Yeah, he's cool But the dude behind him Teddy Riley. He's the one so face was the one they really turned us on to Teddy Riley and Love what Teddy does. So I think we're part of it But I think there's no question that he's a king of new jack swing and I'll tell you I'll tell you a quick Teddy Riley story So I always said my theory was the foundation of hip hop was always James Brown right it was always based on funky drummer Or the Lynn Collins think you know the tampering and that thing was across so many hip hop records But I always said the foundation of new jack swing was Casey in the sunshine band. Oh, yes
Right and everybody everybody said no, no, what are you talking about? So when I interviewed I had a show on series section back in the day and I actually interviewed Teddy and I told him that theory And he laughed and he said oh my god He said can I tell you something? He said you know the bass line of I won her and he goes doom doom Doom boom boom boom boom right he said that's the way I like it Casey in the sunshine band Listen to that song. It's the same baseline. The other foundation of that is I get lifted that That's Casey in the sunshine band George McRae saying the song but Casey in the sunshine band played it and produced it. Oh wow So he said yeah, you're absolutely right. So I was like okay cool So now I can go to people that I think I'm nuts and go no, I got it from I got it from the guy But Teddy's amazing absolutely amazing the more conversations that that I'm a part of here where I learned so much about like music history I'm like is there ever going to really be a way to Really archive all of the hip hop R&B soul like real music history because every time I talk to somebody
I learned something new. We're a different angle way to think about it like you guys think we'll ever really be able to document all of it And they were doing it right now. Yeah, I think you can I it's just that For music, I don't think anyone can take credit because everything is based on something else You know the shoulders that we stand on dictate kind of where we Can see the our purview on something yeah, and so everybody has something in their air that affects them in another way And we just keep taking in another place, but it all is based on the same stuff So you know nobody can claim credit for anything because like Casey that was my favorite stuff You know, that was yeah, that was That was it. So well congratulations on y'all as big as residency coming in April Thank you. How does it feel to have that that that's that's big. That's nice. You know about probably we might have talked a little bit about it when we did our album when we did our jammer
One album, but we had said back at that time there there were three things we wanted to do We wanted to work with babyface which we ended up doing which was great We said we wanted to do our own album which we did jammer lose volume one is volume two is on the way But then we also said we want to go play our own music live Because if you think about it, we started off before we were songwriters and producers We were musicians, you know playing in bands and playing everybody else's hit songs And that was part of our learning process part of our education how we learned to even songwriting produce And so now Going back full circle for us we get a chance to play some hit songs, but they just happen to be ours And um and go back to our musician roots So we're really really excited about it and Vegas is a perfect place to do it And we got a nice little intimate room called Voltaire at the Venetian Resort And it's going to be nothing but hits as we call it and but we're also going to be telling the stories behind the songs Like the way those songs were made and all that And we think it's going to be a great little format um a little time travel a little virtual time travel
All 42 billboard number ones we go here. We're going to we're going to get as many as we possibly can Yeah, we definitely are I tell people it's going to be more of a more of a tasting menu Like we're not going to do like whole seven minute remakes of Seven days long. Yeah, yeah, no, we're not going to do that But but we'll hit you we'll hit you with that intro. We'll get you there You know verse course, you know, might hit a bridge or something kind of hit bridges because we love bridges We got to hit the bridges and whatever and then we boom we run onto the next So it's more like a mixtape or more like if a DJ is doing a mashup It's more that kind of thing. You guys work with with so many people I'm sure all these artists will be there. Well, there'll be some of those things where somebody's in town and be like So what so is on the stage. Yeah, Jada Jackson's here, ladies and gentlemen It's a 40 year anniversary of control. It is. It absolutely is. Well, the thing that happened for us was um we kind of tested this Concept while we went to Japan We did like I think 16 shows in Japan or something like that in the past couple of years Just to kind of test the concept of what it is and what happens is if you have friends in the audience
Most of the time they don't want to come on stage. So we did a show in Atlanta um during labor day last year And for instance, uh, and I will say Rubin stuttered is our kind of our male singer because he can handle anything from you know Alexandra on Neil to usher to whatever and When we started doing bad girl He just walked where usher was sitting and usher was there watching just enjoying the show And he kind of looked at usher and like and usher got on stage hit You know hit bad girl hit you remind me and it was like oh, okay So we always say you never know who's gonna show and that's that's way we look and you know listen We talked to dr dr. Dre yesterday. He said he's gonna come. He's gonna come play cowbell is where he said I said we put a cowbell up in the front Is it a good on the catwalk? Yeah in the catwalk How about on the catwalk cowbell on the catwalk? We got a cat a catwalk that goes out in the audience Which is cool. So everybody gets a good seat and stuff It's gonna be a lot of fun man And yeah, there's gonna be a lot of friends dropping through And you never know each night's gonna be different. We're going to do it six nights. It's a limited residency But each night will be a little bit different
Is this the first time that you guys are ever approached approached about a residency? We were we did one other one. Well then for us. Yes, we're Jimmy and Terry. Yes We did do a residency with the time with our group the time Right after we did the Grammys back in 2000 Maybe a kitchen. I don't remember what year it was It was I can't remember yesterday No, I always say I remember 40 years ago better than 40 minutes ago, but you know, that's that's how it goes But um in we were approached because we performed on the Grammys at yours a 50th anniversary of the Grammys And we performed with Rihanna actually and I remember when we came off everybody say hey, what are y'all gonna do? And we said what this is just a one-off and they said no When you know and then a guy that actually ran the flamingo hotel Tony Braxton was appearing there, but Tony was having some health problems And he said I got three weeks that I can put y'all in if you all want to do a residency So as the time we did a residency and it was during the summer and it was great It was probably the best summer vacation we ever had it's the greatest. Yeah, that our families were just do what you love man and be done By, you know, we go on at seven. We're done by nine and we haven't dinner with our family. Yes. It was great
Terry says at least we ever worked in our life It's great always wonder about that That that time with the time no pun intended, but how did Prince contribute to y'all rof as just Produces musicians artists everything about and I'll start off by saying the reason we're here is because of Prince I mean Prince was the one that I mean, I met Prince in junior high school We went to junior high school together to piano classes together and stuff We both knew how to play, but it just got out out outside of class a little bit, you know, but He was the one that really and I will say more today because Morris actually wrote. There's a song called We know parents want to feel confident as their teens navigate social media with Instagram teen accounts Teens get automatic protections by default Teens between the ages of 13 to 17 are automatically put into a protective experience That means they get built in content settings for what they see Contact limits on who can contact them and time management tools like daily time limit reminders as well as sleep mode Which mute notification from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Plus teens under 16 need a parents permission to change any of these settings to be less strict

First you need to get movers and new furniture and what about party favors without being a theme of course It's a theme because you're always doing the most oh yeah the food to cook or the order out don't forget to put it in the group chat So everyone can already see who all gonna be there all the planet can be stressful But sure your home shouldn't be and that's where state farm comes in because state farm agents can help you choose to cover You need just call going live or check out the app any agent is ready to help so you can focus on showing off your new home If you know you know like a good neighbor state farmers there pressure has the way of revealing what remains steady And the latest Nissan campaign the Nissan Rogue was tested to the extreme to demonstrate that it's built to last through durability and reliability challenges Inspired by real tests conducted by Nissan engineers brutal potholes a study force of water even a jet powered sand storm Each challenge inviting a deeper look at how quality durability and reliability hold their ground in real world conditions
Every test was a hundred percent real no CG no AI to see how the Rogue held up visit Nissan dash durability dot com On eBay every fine has a story like if you're looking for a vintage band T not just a T the band T from the last show your favorite band ever played You wore it everywhere then your girlfriend started wearing it which was cool until she dumped you and took it with her Which was not so cool Anyway, now you're on eBay and there it is same T from the same tour Still living in your memory rent free forever see the things you love have a way of finding their way back to you But eBay isn't just forgetting what your ex stole back It's also for that rare championship foul boy you caught then heroically gave it to the kid next to you And where else are you going to find your first car the one you wish you never sold But now finally get the chance to take back home for good this time You know, I'm a collector of cars and sometimes I'm looking for the right Rim that I have when I was a kid yeah might have been 20 years ago
But I want that same feeling and the only way I could find it is on eBay shop eBay for millions of fines each with a story eBay Things people love Party up on the dirty mind album and Morris actually wrote that song or the track to that song because Warner's wanted you know prince to do something a little more funky because he had gone into his you know more of his rock thing and Morris gave that song to prince and prince said what do you want? He said I'll give you you know I'll give you 30 grand or I'll give you whatever amount of money He said oh, I'll get you a record deal and more said I'll take the record deal and more said okay And then prince said put a band together, you know, we'll get you going and Morris came to our band and we were like actually like a competing band Of Morris back in the day But he came to us and said okay y'all gonna be the band and we're like okay cool And that's what got us going that was back in 81 So that was the thing that got us going and put us on the map So all thanks to prince all thanks to Morris today they're the ones that started us and of course we got you know Is we the famous story we got fired by prince But Terry likes to say he didn't fire us. He freed us and literally the same night that prince
freed us Yes, we were at sunset sound He freed us we went over to a studio called Larity right across, you know the way And ended up mixing what became our very first hit and that was just be good to be by the SOS band So literally the same night we got freed we had our first hit and you know the rest of this history after that Very much a Hollywood story. Well god knows yeah god definitely knows I'm sure y'all still maintain the relationship with prince after that I think when people have these conversations about like who's who's the greatest artist of all time I don't think they really understand what people like Prince did or even like a Stevie Wonder the fact that they could write yeah thing Produce play instruments like they're not just Saying the song somebody wrote dance. Yeah, you know I think the impact. I mean you feel it's a ripple effect And that's the thing that you when you talk about prince and think about this He played every instrument his debut album to me is like the best debut album of all time Because he played every instrument he played saying every note
Wrote every song. I mean he did everything on that record and so that was his thing, but if you think about it The way we dressed the way we um and he's think about the ripple effect now We know when you hear like you know a Bruno Mars There's no Bruno Mars without Prince and he acknowledges that matter fact Bruno Mars thanks us He's like when he had 24 carat and all that stuff out. He was like thank you Jimmy J. Amitere Lewis, you know So to me that's the ripple effect and that's all because of prince and the fact that we're still here We get a chance to be blessed to talk to you guys today That's because of prince as that's that ripple effect So when you talk about the greatest some of it is what they did in the moment But also that ripple effect that they have you know in princes. There's nobody Better to me and y'all have worked with so many different people over the years have y'all have a turn down the artist Writing for an artist or producing because y'all interesting with y'all music or just didn't align with y'all Yeah, we've turned down things for sure, but not for that reason. We didn't feel like we were the best people for the job Yeah
We are fans of the people that we work with we're fans of music And we love music retro and forward whatever and we want to protect it So we protect ourselves by not doing something that we're not inspired by I'd like to say we we don't really If we say no, it's always with a butt. It's like no But you know who would be really good for this is this person So we redirect a lot of times we will redirect and get get the right people involved or a lot of times we will advocate Um, we're talking about it the other day so pink is up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year and Pink came to Minneapolis to do work on some stuff with us And we said will you play us what you got so far and she started playing all this stuff And it was a stuff to Linda Perry did with her and Dallas Austin did with her And we were like what do you need us for you said you got a you got a record right and she said well LA thinks that you know because my it's so different from what I did before because her first album was a very R&B album
And I said okay, so we called LA and and I said LA I said take your record company head off for a minute and just put your musician head on I just want to give you two examples and I said the first one was a girl in Canada She was popular in Canada had a few hits and stuff She came to America she made a record called jagged little pill and he said a land of smore said And I said yeah, and I said then there was a guy. I said he had a you know double platinum album big record I said the next album he came out Changed his whole style had bikinis and leg warmers and a trench coat He said prince and I said yeah, and he said so you're telling me you think pink is prince and the land of smore said and I said yes I said now put your record company back your hat back on you have your first single He said what's that I said get the party started Because that song will not lose her audience that she already has but it's gonna start gaining her that audience where she's trying to go And I remember when the album came out like three months later everybody started calling us This is before internet or anything you couldn't just text people they were called us and they go What do y'all do on pink's album? We said we didn't do nothing on the album
Well, she thinks you went in the line. I know she says thank you Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and I said oh we made a phone call So that's it so we've done a lot of that so that wasn't a no But it was you know you got what you need right here. You don't really need anything Why does pop music after you looked at as a white genre when it was black a black producer like a quenzy Jones and a black artist like a Michael Jackson and black producers like You two and a black artist like Janet Jackson who changed its trajectory of pop music Well pop I think at the intention of pop was only to refer to it as popular um and I don't think it was Race or gender specific at that point I think people have a need to own everything And you yes, okay Need to claim everything and I can't I think that messed the game up like I actually prefer how they do it in in Europe Like there's one chart and if you want it you want it and if you're not you're not where so
If the competition is fair at that point Let the games begin and let the music speak for itself. So I don't know It's it's a way to separate. What's the difference between gospel and Christian As I have no idea one is white and one is black Yeah, so so everybody needs Has that they feel the need to put things in boxes right? But we're talking about God and we're talking about God. Yeah same God, right? I think How do y'all feel about the rock and roll Hall of Fame conversation and And see gone trouble again because he was saying that black Basically artists that are hip-hop or R&B should not be the title is rock and roll hall of fame in the rock and roll hall of fame That's kind of pixie, but you know what I'm that's how he feels and that he's trying to protect himself in that Because black folks created rock and roll. Yeah, so how can he be bad at the the other people that are getting in
Because they created the genre that you specifically want to claim right? So you can't be mad at other people For getting in because you you can be what it just doesn't work just done. Yeah It doesn't work on any level. Yeah Well, I mean if you think about the rock and roll hall of fame the first people that were inducted in the rock and roll of fame right at the very beginning You know you had you know Chuck Berry and fast domino and you know It was the black pioneers the people low-richard like the people that really invented what is known as rock and roll and rock and roll Was not at the origin was not a white dude with long hair and a guitar That was not what it was yeah it morphed into that But I think we see now It's changing to be more inclusive and also rock and roll is more of an attitude than a genre of music Anyway, you know, and I think hip hop if anybody embodies You know aggressiveness different, you know, this coming through adversity to make music
That's the hip hop community. So to me that's as rock and roll as it gets And he credits them as well when he talks about it But it's just like the irony of like that credit and then the separation and then it sparks a whole conversation again about that barrier in that guideline Yeah, well, maybe they should just call it the hall of fame If you want to be, you know, specific in a way that is general You know, it's about the music isn't it about the contributions isn't it? Well, I think I think the importance of it is that um, I think the music the conversations around music are always great So if somebody has to say something that's you know slightly off, you know, just off, I guess Ignite Okay Then I think it's great that we have the conversation about it because it keeps music important and keeps it relevant And I'm glad we have the conversations and I think you know once again for younger people we're coming at it from I mean we're coming from old guys, you know But I think that everybody needs to know that conversation and how those kinds of things happen
Because otherwise you think that it's just a status quo, you know, the things were always like that I mean a whole different thing, but I know my kids for instance When my kids were growing up Obama was the president They thought oh, that's normal. That's what it is and it's like no, no, no, no You know, it's not normal and now they see what the new normal is and they're like whoa wait a minute now You know because they historically don't don't have that so I think you have to have the context and um I think that uh, but I love that the rock roll hall of fame and and the other thing about that is the people did vote on that That room is changing a lot. I mean because it goes to the fan vote also, but that room in that room is changing And so I think that there's a need to um, you know It's we people like Luther Vandross on the ballot this year Which I think you know think about Luther Vandross. He was a major contributor to David Boat Yeah, you know So I just think that the connections and those types of things are are really good But I think the conversations are really healthy to have, you know, the debates are healthy I need brothers gotta go. I know they got a guy. I was the one last question when it's all said and done
Do you want Jimmy Jamontary Lewis to be remembered for The hits offer the blueprint y'all created for producers The control their own death. Oh, it's a good question Well, I always say story I always say about that Is it Michael Jackson asks he said how do you want to be remembered and I just said I want to be remembered as a nice guy And he said no, no, no, no, no Is it because of all here hit records or all your that you sold so many I said no, no, no, that's all statistical stuff So like a chart position. That's statistical. I said I want to be remembered as a nice guy and about a year later I'd sampled some of Michael Jackson stuff and they said oh, you'll never clear that you'll never clear that and I called Michael He called back and he said I know you want to ask me a question, but can I just tell you Whenever they ask me what's like working with you guys. I just go Jimmy Jam is the nicest guy That's a thanks Michael and he goes yeah, yeah I'll clear have John Brink a call and I'll clear the sample and whatever we ended up not even using the sample But my point was is that was the impression and I said to Michael I said the good news Michael
I said when people asked me what it was like to work with you. I still them the exact same thing He's a nice guy. So I always want I would always go for that over the talent But what the way you articulated as sort of a blueprint or sort of a you know an inspiration or all of that That's what we would like to be I think you know that I mean this the hits are great in the moment But once again as I talked about earlier with Prince in a prince had some big hits But his effect on people and the fact that we're even sitting here right now We want to be that for people we want to be the reason that they're sitting here and being able to do what it is that they do and for to have them say I mean, I'll tell you we're talking about you know, you know white people Charlie poof Charlie poof came on the thing we did the other day And he was like y'all the reason I even make chords the way I make my chords and that kind of stuff, you know So that's the kind of impact. Yeah, Charlie's good dude, right? But you want that's the kind of impact you want to have and I think that means a lot to us to to have that And I would just add a little bit of sauce on that Sandwich is really nice to me John
He I think from the age that we came into this, you know, there were people before certainly gamble and huff Who was our blueprint, you know, Quincy Jones who was like a mentor um, I love the way our career arc And business acumen Help to shape the business side of it for producers that came after us now although that That's all changed now because nobody gets paid now. Yeah, because of streaming But we actually made the producers have some power at a certain point Because before they were just tools and we became personalities and tools And that helped us just like you guys are the y'all are personalities so That gives us a voice even a louder bull horn So we were able to advocate for all the people that we love, you know, I love musicians. I love artists I love producers Anybody who's creating music and Kenny Gamble said it best because as my mentor
We would always talk to him about things. He said, you know, our music is supposed to be pure Wholesome is supposed to feed nourishes. So we have to be careful with what we do In terms of what we create for our communities And I still believe that but there's room for all of it. Yeah, you know, but for every, you know, piece of fried chicken You eat you better eat a salad Thank you And you know any time you guys are in town pull up on us, please Thank you. And let's take this can be purchased for their residency at a Voltaire Voltaelv.com Voltaelv.com April 17th through the 26th. Thank you brothers again. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Have us. It's the breakfast club. Good morning Let's get right to the latest Yeah, I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself I'm the hunger that knows a little bit about everything and everything Little brown girls looking to and go. I want to be like you
So our last week before the weekend last Friday we talked about Nicki Minaj's uh Nicki Minaj I'm sorry Cardi B's concert in Houston and When we mentioned that concert we had a conversation about Stefan Diggs and his mom our Stefan Diggs mom attending the concert Um, and I did not mention on purpose the fact that Nicki Minaj's half sister Ming attended the concert I just felt like there was no reason to because we know that Nicki Minaj's sister and Nicki Minaj from what we've seen They're not like super close and I think people I knew people were going to make it like such a thing So are you mentioning it now because Cardi B had responded to her con her sister attending the concert and I loved Cardi B's response So the concert with Donna Houston Ming was there. She was in the crowd. She was enjoying herself She didn't do anything petty or anything like that that I saw Um, and then she was also out after the concert and there were videos of her in the section that Cardi B was in Now Cardi B had responded to this because of course it went crazy because we know that there's a few with Nicki Minaj Cardi, let's take a listen to Cardi's response to Nicki's half sister attending I feel like that young lady. I feel like she needs guidance
I feel like she just like if somebody comes see me and they don't and there's no issue I don't want to play nobody and they face and try to be funny if they're not on that type of timing It just doesn't get you nowhere. I feel like life right now is so beautiful And I feel like being kind has taken me I've been so kind and I just been thinking before I react and stuff like that And I feel like that's paying off sometimes I'd be wanting to blow up because I've been getting so mad at other Like you know what whatever Cardi before you curse somebody out just walk away plus I'm not gonna be beefing and doing the most with somebody that I don't know they're 19 years old 18 years old to grow up for that and I'm too too blessed for that. I don't think that girl's on drama time I just feel like she just she's a young kid Correct me if I'm wrong, but uh, Mickey. Ming Lee is 20, right? Nicki's 40 plus years old and they both have said they've never been close About a year ago. Yeah, this shouldn't be a story. She went to go see Cardi B. She said look. I'm a Cardi B fan
I think the reason why it's just because and when you just read it on face value It's Nicki Minaj's sister But if you don't know the background then it makes no sense But I think it got to the point where Cardi responded because you don't know Cardi watches everything But there were so many people that were picking it up even mean herself was like yo, I went to a concert like let it let it go But yeah, so I thought Cardi's response was like really great to kind of dead The noise that was trying to happen around it and she's a little I'm not little but she's so much younger than her and then Just not so much about Ming, but what Cardi said her being kind to people like she's too blessed for the drama and everything like that It's refreshing and great to hear her talk like that because she is extremely blessed and we know she'll go off in a minute Not even talking about this situation just periods, so I love that you know her growth as well. Yes Over the weekend. I also saw two that both at yellow By Cardi B and hit one billion streams on Spotify, which is her fifth song to achieve this in her, you know History of invasion of privacy. So amazing, you know the the blessing keep on coming
Yes, they'll be bumping at first album. Love it. Yes. Um now in other, you know big news. So Byron Allen Now listen, I thought that this was so fire and so fly and I think a lot of people if you don't know who Byron Allen is But over the weekend it was announced that his Media group Allen media group who owns the weather channel is a production company He has local TV stations and streaming platforms is buying a significant stake in stars So he has acquired 10.7% of a stake in stars through his investment firm and family office Allen family capital now according to the filings He is paying 25 million dollars for the stake. He's acquiring it from the from like a former investment fund But this is fire because Hell yeah, like I don't Yes, and I saw this being reported And I remember the conversation I watched at John Hope Bryant's conference that went to Atlanta with Byron Allen and Charlotte And I was just sitting there thinking like he does all this stuff so quietly And we talk about how we don't have a hand in like television and media
And we have this man doing all of this and people just aren't talking about it People don't know, but that's why I'm glad you are reporting it. It's important. Yeah I thought that was so far and I think with this stake you'll be able to help determine like what goes on to the network And just have conversations behind the scenes, which is what we need Yeah, Byron is one of the quietest moguls ever in the history of the game And he grew his business from entertainment because he is a comedian. Yes, you know saying he started off as a stand-up comedian So smooth the Byron Allen. That's my guy. I was talking to him this weekend, man. Like that is That is major, you know, it is that's all he does. He just acts as portfolio quietly and be chilling Like he's on the weather channel for years like yes, and just be chilling I thought that that was so fly, but as we end the hour. I want to mention So we I did a conversation with Gina Lisa about Britney Spears and all the DUI things that are happening yesterday I reached out to the California highway patrol to just check in on any updates on Britney Spears And there's nothing there yet But because her case hasn't even made it over to the DA's office, but I got a lot of pushback for me and Gina Lisa's conversation
People feeling like Because Gina Lisa said that Britney Spears should still be in a conservatorship And people don't like to hear those words at all, but I thought that that was kind of crazy I'm like, are you guys not watching what's happening right in front of you? Well, I think people you know following like what happened with Wendy and everything like that And knowing that sometimes a conservatorship can be a group of people that don't have your best interests at hunt So some people have like they they've like associated that part of it like the stigma the bad stigma around Yeah, I'm conservatorship I get it with this that's exactly what it is when they think about it They think of Wendy Williams not being able to go out and see her dad not being able to go out and shop And that's what they think about it but sometimes it's well-needed But that's why we did the D-dye It was spending recklessly and all that That's why I wanted when I did the conversation on the podcast I didn't just report it I'm like let me bring in somebody who can explain how this can be done right So please go listen to the full conversation on the latest with Learn the Rose of the podcast And over the weekend there were reports Or speculation that Britney Spears that like took the cops on a high-speed chase because she's had incidents previously with cars And police officers had to come out and say no that is not true
So all these crazy headlines are happening and coming out and we're following it And people are like why would she need a some guardianship But I don't know so I'll keep you guys updated there I'm told this week there should be more updates And I also checked in on the her numbers What she tested and what she did not test and I'm told that this that should come this week So that's it in the latest and make sure you go guys going listen to the podcast Oh all right. Thank you Lauren. ebay things people love Johnson guilty on five charges Including molesting a child under the age of 12 and a minor under 16 In 2024 Johnson pleaded guilty to entering the U.S. Capitol through a broken window Police say he used just status as a pardon rider to course the victim Johnson now faces up to life in prison. He used this status as a pardoned rider to cause the victim wow Wow, wow president Trump does not make good decisions Okay, at some point even the members of the maggot cult have to be honest about this not only Was this guy pardoned for January 6 and he shouldn't have been He also sounds like he would have had a grand old time on Epstein Island Okay, maga. I think y'all got a tight now if you're keeping school President Trump pardoned about 1500 people connected to the insurrection and at least 33 of those individuals have been Rearrested charged our sentence for other crimes since the capital attack and at least five of those people have committed new crimes After receiving their pardons. Okay, a various assortment of charges burglary weapons offenses domestic violence
DUI possession of illegal materials and now Andrew Paul Johnson send us to life in prison for sexually abusing two-middle school age children What did Maya Angelus say when someone shows you who they are the first time believed him? Okay, well, I don't know if Andrew Paul Johnson showed us he was a child but left They'll be definitely showed us he was a terrible person. All right, can somebody please As president Trump about all the people he's pardoned who have ended up going back to prison Can you ask him specifically about Andrew Paul Johnson? Okay, there are still some honest press corps members out there Katelyn Collins the CNN I know you have more present issues to be asking the president because there's a lot going on But I just want to see how he would spin this one. Okay, a man you gave a presidential pardon to Postorm in the capital in January six has been sentenced to life in prison But sexually abusing children and he used his pardon status The get victims. Oh, let me be clear Uh, he received a pardon from Trump and
The pardon had nothing to do legally with the crimes he committed sexually abusing children But life has a funny way of revealing who people really are. Okay, because sometimes when you shine a light on somebody's actions You realize you know January six might not have been the worst thing about them. Okay, see people argue about pardons Like there's some kind of magic eraser like you could you you could just control all delete and suddenly Somebody become the good person again. No, you was who you was before you got here. Okay. He was a pedophile Before the insurrection. He was a pedophile before the pardon You're gonna be a pedophile after all that too. Yes indeed, man And you know what I was thinking man am I the only person who feels off this weekend Like on Saturday. I was sitting in an off Broadway play. I went to go see a heathers Okay, with my daughter and I just felt the I just felt the shift like something felt off and I's I mentioned it to a couple of people And they said it's because time moved forward. I've never felt like this over no hour moving for it But I didn't felt that on Saturday because it happened in Sunday, but I've been Sunday, but I'm saying I'm saying No, but I'm saying I felt the shift. Oh, you felt Saturday evening. And then what's the name? Man shut up And then when I said something I said something about it, you know later the next day people were saying oh it's because time moved forward I'm like I've never felt like that because time moved forward and then Lauren Lurlsie came in here to dance that man That hour moving forward got me feeling off. Nobody said my butto The 90s I know you came up in 90s New York, airman. It was a different time. You don't have to live traumatized for the rest of your life, bro
I put that on the dead homies. Nobody's been in this Okay, post-traumatic side of me syndrome is real Oh, if you're just joining us, all of me said over the weekend, he felt the shift Yeah, man, something was off something. Why didn't for him? I asked him who it was. What's the guy's name? He said it wasn't that He said it was something else. So what is it? Shalom me and shut up man. I just said Saturday evening I was sitting around. I would add a play actually. I want to go see Heather's and I just felt like a shift I'm sitting in the play and it literally was like yo, I literally was like yo, what just happened like the world Around me change like the energy and everything changed. I'm not gonna lie. I did have me at me kind of depressed like really for the next 36 hours Wow Even a little bit this morning, but then I came in this morning and you know La Rosa says she felt the same thing envy you said you felt the same thing You know just said Jesus was I'm good. I said I'm good. So I was just like you know Clearly Jess is normal
That's the only normal person in the room this morning I felt tired. I felt like it was because of the timeshifting and I just assumed that was the reason I feel a little tired in the little off, but maybe like you said it's mercury's in retrograde me Maybe that's part of it. And if you don't know what mercury in retrograde means can you break that back down what it means for you I don't know what mercury in retrograde means. I just hear people always say it like I'm not a mercury and gatorade type of person I just you know hear people will say that to me, but I've never really understood what it means But it said it's I'm looking it up now. It says the period is associated with communication breakdowns travel delays and technical glitches It is considered a time to pause reflect and avoid Assigning major contracts are starting new projects. So mercury retrograde started on February 26th and last until March 20th. So I don't know why I would just be feeling sad today. So I can't say that that's a Mercury retrograde. I felt yeah, let's open up the phone line. Hello. Who's this? Good morning. Good morning, Tammy. Good morning, Tammy
I'm blessed black and highly favorite. How are you? I just want to comment on the topic. I don't feel like there was like if anything to do at the time change But it definitely feels like there's a shift in the matrix of something It just felt off yesterday, but I don't think it has to do with the time change Okay, what do you think you have to do it? I really don't know like I really feel like we're living in an episode of the tumultial or the matrix real because I was driving For a long period of time yesterday and I swear there was a period where I felt like I blacked out But I didn't actually black out. I just felt like like how did I get here like like I was I'm driving and I know I'm driving But I kind of had to catch myself like wait a minute Am I really driving driving right now? It just felt off Good like 20 minutes where it was like off and on like where I had to catch myself and be like okay Well, I'm driving like Tell me you're driving you're driving remember you're driving so it just it just felt off yesterday
That's how I felt Saturday that's how I felt like that last night even when I was trying to sleep like I It's not like I was I wasn't tired But then I was kind of restless, but then I felt like I was sleeping But then I had a bunch of stuff on my mind, but then I woke up this morning and I wasn't tired Yeah, that don't seem like Yeah, I just don't say the Thompson salute to DJ precise. He just texted me says no live listening this morning He said I felt the same energy energy off He said I understand exactly which all remains failing. It just feels off. I can't describe it I don't know if it's something change like the world around us change like something happened. Yeah Hello, who's this? This camp from the 843 peace camp 843 we're part 843 you call the front North Charleston off of the making naughty bye What's happening? Nothing. I agree with you, Charlotte. It's it's Saturday. Everything just felt weird But it was just a whole different change in atmosphere. I don't know if it's because of what's going on in the world or
Just everything that's going on in the in the It itself, but everything's just weird and it's not the time change It's not the time checkers. I felt it before the time I felt it around seven eight o'clock like it was literally like Somebody turned the channel. Yo, like I can't even describe it. It just felt like the world changed And I'm like, yo, what the hell just happened? Yeah, like it like I was driving all my way to Myrtle Beach and like that It just felt like uh, like something's just having just went down and I was just like I don't like this. I don't like it either Thank you for calling. Damn. Is there more or what's the moral to the story? I don't know what the moral is. I just you know, I that's the beauty of uh, you know being on the radio and being able to talk to millions of people every day Because you can come in and you know express things and then realize you're not alone because Telling you man on Saturday. I was just literally sitting in that play and I just felt something shift and it didn't feel good It didn't feel bad. You could just feel that it was a real difference and like it kind of had me in a
A real state of depression the last, you know, 36 Hours even even a little bit today, but I feel better now knowing that other people feel like that All right, all right, well when we come back we got the latest with Laura. So don't go anywhere. It's the breakfast club. Good morning She be having the latest Lauren LaRosa On the breakfast club Um, so uh real quick at the top of this latest. I wanted to mention um a filing that went down that I'm seeing people starting to have a conversation about uh, so Brian still you guys know Brian still He's a famed attorney. He represented young thug in that trial that that RISO Rico trial He also was a part of ditty's defense team has now submitted documents asking to replace one of a little durks
Attorneys on his legal team now the reason why I think that people are like clinging to this is number one because Brian still has had some success For ditty and also for young thug, but um people feel like right now a little durks case. It's basically Um almost and like he won't beat it like I there's a lot of people who don't have faith in the case even though the murder for higher trial Has not even made it like it. It's happening in august But because there are now able to use like certain lyrics and uh, you know all of him and his co-definite will be tried together I think people are losing hope for durk and Brian still is representing like okay, there's still a chance But I think that the way that people are having a conversation about little durks case is a bit unfair Only because the only time I see the media covering it and it doesn't get much coverage by the way His team is all gag ordered though, so like they can't talk to me and I think that's why you don't see it pick up a lot Where's he uh Located that he's in a california. I believe that's where the murder for higher trial went down But let me look up exactly where he's locked up at, but could I be wondering why nobody able to call his california? Yeah, that's where nobody ever comes is his court case
So I can't answer that um because I I have seen videos of like it only being like india and a couple people from his family But I do know that his attorneys are gag ordered because I've reshotted them several times trying to get clarity and comments on things and they can't do it So a lot of times when when that happens for media It's like you want to talk about it and talk about things that face value But there's so many questions that you don't get from documents unless you're in the courtroom and we're all over here I bet you people that Chicago it would be different though because even when you think about uh, you know Diddy his case was in New York. Yeah, yeah About young thug his case was in Atlanta. I bet you if uh dark was in Chicago. It'd be completely different Well, I think what people also should know too is uh that there have been things that his legal team has been able to do for him Like I know that there are some lyrics that will be able to you be used from the song aha But uh, there's other moments uh that were used in lyrics and songs that his team fought heavily against being allowed in court And some of those things were were told hey, you can't use these so there has been a little movement there But you know, hopefully with Brian still on the team will we'll see
Uh more people having conversations about what's happening because it'll be the things that I think people will jump to it's It's so weird how the court cases pick up and some of them don't Go ahead envy. Well, is it true that uh some of the songs that they recorded they said they actually recorded before the actual killing so That there's no way that those songs could be used in court That was some of the arguments uh that yeah that that took place back before I I mean I I'm not in the studio. So I don't know what was recorded when but that was some of the arguments um as well, but For me, I just know that even the lyrics that they are gonna allow to be used if you look at a lyric Depending on what you think actually happens of your other prosecution or defense You can make anybody believe anything. So he just needs a strong team point blank period And I think Brian still is going to come in and beat us. I ain't no Brian still um What's his lawyer? Well, he's not yet. He's asking to be and the people are like oh wow Okay, so this is about to get real because Brian still does get busy in a courtroom. So I wanted to mention uh that there Um now moving on um over the weekend actually uh the saturday uh
Uh, there was some drama with uh Dwight Howard and his wife Amy uh I've loving hip-hop. So we've been kind of back and forth with them. They were together then you know They called it off and now they're back together um and Amy over the weekend posted a video she was sitting in the car breaking down crying could barely talk and she's alleging That cps was called to their home and that one of their children was removed from the home um amongst other things. Let's take a listen My marriage has landed me in a very Dangerous position. My stepdaughter was just taking my cps because of her father cps and the police had been here three times And less than three months and I stood in it with my husband even though I was scared from my old self Thinking this is my husband. I had everybody around me saying you can't leave your husband is sold You said the sickness will help But it's not even about me. It's about the kids. So of course I'll be his alibi But this is going way too far. I keep telling people he needs some help y'all. I live with him
I caught this man Forced in our 12-year-old son To cover for him. He was coaching our son to lie on me and I had to record it and this is this I try to tell everybody he needs some help. This is what I'm losing my Marriage to this Yeah, so uh, it was a pretty lengthy video in the video. She pulls out what she alleges is a bag Big-ass bigger cocaine. Yeah, um, but uh, and then there was something else too like she unscrewed I think it was like a little tube and there was things in the tube as well But here's a thing there was another video. She posted where she's talking to the son and she's basically Talking to the son about like you know, it's bad when you lie on people and think that in nature But there's no like I'm still confused and I A video of her talking to her stepson Yes, it's the lie that she's a legend. She was trying to basically show that she had recorded that right? But you don't hear the conversation about the lie. So yes, I just want to raise my hand Ask the question to the class y'all do no cocaine as illegal, right? Yeah, you find that much cocaine
You put the call of God damn police riding around showing people on Instagram Like a half a kilo of cocaine Yeah, you know what I was more worried about in the video when she pulled out the little tube and whatever was in this Two that she let's just cocaine it she sprinkled it on her hand to show it right and then she's wiping her nose as she's crying All of the same time Oh, that is not going to be an excuse. This is my baby daddy This is my husband put your hand behind your back. Okay. Yeah, crazy. I'm calling the police It's a man. It's a lot more over there. It's a mess, but um, yeah, there's been no update I don't even understand why she would put that on social media, right? Because like Charlotte may say it is illegal It is against the law is somebody's gonna go to jail like the investigation. It's really okay. It's Okay, you can't tell the police. This is my baby daddy cocaine Oh, not baby daddy That's where it's really baby daddy, but didn't Royce jump in and say something. Yeah, so Roy's got online So if you guys aren't familiar Royce Reed was with Dwight Howard They have children together and Royce Reed has been claiming for a while
That Dwight Howard allegedly is the issue and when she saw this she responded to Amy. Let's take a listen It's everybody else's fault So you just don't think any of us fell for the antics either right none of us fell for the narcissism Are you crazy Amy? You called me crazy. You said I was jealous You said I wanted him when it's always been about the damn kids and now you want to see her cry And say her and be like it's because of what everybody else did to him. No It's because of what he does to people. I was just first. I was collateral damage Let's call Royce crazy if people are believe it because I'm baby Jesus go shut up Hey me while Dwight Howard did lost angels like his name on his business. Yeah, chilling like Yes, and then even yesterday I went to his page and see because I reached out to his team and they didn't respond to me So I went to see if maybe he posted something whatever
He posted a video about like a car giveaway They gave to like families with no cars like he just moved on from all of this like he just also would like to say This is just my personal observation. I don't know any of this. I'm just Dwight don't give coke to me Would you know there's nothing about Dwight Howard that says I'm on cocaine. That's just my personal opinion I don't know I don't I don't know him. I'm not around him 24-7 We're just in the times. I've interacted with him. Been it. I don't get coke I better question. It's who gives coke to you. There's a lot of people. Oh, yeah But we need to like be it but I don't mess. Yeah People who give coke you give coke Oh my god Have it all together right now So from what we can see is damn see Idris and Lori Harvey. There was a video of them Kissing and a parents fashion week that people went crazy over and I'm breaking down the relationship
But also a lot of the success that Demson Idris is seeing right now in the box office After formula f1 broke and some things that he has coming up on the podcast the latest with Lauren the Rosa So go take a listen over there. It's not messy. It's actually a great conversation about love and success. Hit a line La Rosa shut up You welcome this was brought to you by top dog law. I need to call them on you any accident bigger small people called top dog law He's crazy and we come back.
