Music Helping to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, this is the Constitution study on the America Out Loud Network with your host Paul Engel. People left right and center complain about political polarization. Do we take the time to examine our contributions to it? Hello there, everyday Americans, politely here with the Constitution study where we read instead of the Constitution, teacher action generation be free. Glad you could join me today. Polarization, I mean it's something that's been, well, it's been part of our lives, so mostly, most of my life, although it seems to be a lot sharper lately, especially since, well, Donald Trump and COVID, it seems like those two things may be going back to Barack Obama, but it seems like there's been this inflection point and this, it's kind of been ratchet up to 11.
So I want to take some time and take a look at some of the contributing factors, some of the ways that we the people contribute, both directly and through our representatives to this political polarization. Now, as I said, a Biden had a lot to do with this. It, you know, as I said, it went up a bit under, I mean, she's a Clinton and Bush and, again, Obama and Trump and Biden and Trump, it just seems like it keeps getting ratchet higher and higher. Of course, if we're going to talk about Biden, we got in the Biden administration, we got to talk about Jack Smith, because he's been in the news lately, because of his testimony before different Kangaroo courts in Congress. Yes, these are Kangaroo courts. Congress does not have an oversight authority. There's nothing in the Constitution that delegates to Congress, he had the authority to oversee the rest of the government. Now, they can decide whether or not to fund the rest of the government, but this, you know, all we're going to do these investigations and then pass along to the private justice is, again, it's more of a political showmanship than anything else.
And the Jack Smith hearings really has been pretty much the same, but there has been some very interesting things that have come out of them. For example, are you one of the almost 4,800 Americans who had their checks examined because they donated to Trump or Republican entities between 2019 and 2023? Do you really think that's the role of a special counsel is to check into your donations? Shouldn't that be private information? Now, of course, this is hell of a well, you know, we were doing an investigation in the Trump and we had to investigate. Did any of those investigations have to do with illegal contributions? And it really, in some cases, people gave us a little as a dollar to the president or some of his groups. They had their checks, they got the Smith team got copies of the checks.
Even for making small dollar donations, most of us more dollar donations, all to focus on what happened on January 6th. I'm sorry, did donating to a presidential candidate suddenly make you a suspect in the January 6th? The criminal activities, because not all January 6th, the criminal activities in January 6th. Or was this more political polarization of, we'll just, you know, the, the, the enemy of my enemy is, is somebody I need to invest, or the friend of my enemy, is something I need to investigate. Is that really, is that really how things are supposed to work in this country? Then again, is the, are the investigations that are now going into, into Mr Smith? Are they, the congressional investigations? Are they the way things are supposed to remember? The Congress writes the law, the executive branch execute the law. So if there's an allegation, or even a, a possibility that Mr Smith broke the law, it's not up to Congress to discover it.
It's up to the executive branch. But then again, executive branch becomes so polarized, we have to make a, at the wonder, would anything actually be found out? Or simply be just more political finger pointing. I mean, the Democrats did it when they were in power. Remember the prime time show trial of the allegedly investigating January 6th. Now we have the, well, not prime time, but certainly show trials of both the Senate and House looking into Jack Smith's activities. And again, I think the house, when they look at it, they referred Mr Smith to the Department of Justice. They didn't do anything except, well, play partisan politics. And that's kind of how things, things go. I, I find it, why did Mr Smith not investigate anybody who donated to the, the, the Biden campaign or, or other groups? No, it's partisan. Kind of the same way that Jack Smith went after only reporters with a, well, I'm assuming a certain political,
a certain political preference. I mean, investigators claim to have found communication that nearly 50 journalists of 50, we're collected by the Jack Smith and his team. From more than a dozen media outlets. Isn't that interesting? Now, the one thing I will say is this does seem to be a more bipartisan list of news outlets that were investigated. I mean, you have everybody from 60 minutes in Bloomberg to Fox News and Mark Levin. So at least he seems to be a bit more of an equal opportunity investigator into people for apparently the crime of reporting the news. Or is it just because they reported the news that Mr. Smith's, Mr Smith's master was not real thrilled with that could be. I mean, how, again, they're, he's looking at the communication from members of the media.
Based on what, how did he get these the warrants to actually do this? Now, of course, it's immediately described as a massive first amendment breach by, by this federal prosecutor, but again, that depends. I mean, if he got a warrant to get like this data, then and if that warrant was valid, meaning he had probable cause supported by author affirmation and particularly describe the data to be collected and seized. Well, then it's more of a fourth amendment violation than a first amendment violation, but then again, we're dealing with the politicians most of them went to law school. My guess is they probably didn't study the actual language of the Constitution. But again, was this a partisan hit job now being investigated by another partisan organization. We had Mr. Smith, Jack Smith collecting data on donors, everyday Americans on the news media. Oh, by the way, yeah, lawmakers and big surprise. It was basically Republican lawmakers.
Now, Mr. Mr Smith just by this thing, well, it was centrally relevant into his investigation into charges, let it charge against Donald Trump. That were dropped in his alleged attempt to overturn the results of 2020 presidential elections. He said, well, listen, all we gathered were records of calls that were made and how long they were and we did find out that that he contacted a couple of the, the couple of member lawmakers that actually may have tried to, the attempted delay, the certification of the election. See, so that means he did it. Really, you need the records of members of Congress to do this? Again, not the records of Donald Trump. The cell phone records of members of Congress. What was the probable cause that these members of Congress are?
Hmm. Now, Senator Kennedy during his questioning, well, yes, some interesting questions. You saw just the records of the Republicans and you knew that violated the speech and debate cause, didn't you? That is incorrect. We saw it to comply with it. Did you take Conwell? I'm sorry, Senator. Were you in the quad playing frisbee? Deeron, Conwell at Harvard Law School? I did take constitutional laws. But then you had to know it violated the speech and debate cause. Now, again, I don't know. I'm assuming Kennedy took Conwell. I'm kind of guessing that he didn't actually study the constitution because seeking phone records does not violate the speech and debate clause. The speech and debate clause says this is Article 1, Section 6, clause 1.
This is Senator's representative shall among other things for any speech or debate in either House. They shall not be questioned in any other place. That doesn't say anything about other communications. It has to be a speech or debate made on the floor of the House or the Senate. Your private conversations are not quite covered under the speech, but then again, Mr. Kennedy doesn't seem to be too concerned about that. In his own, in a little fashion, he has his own opinion about Mr. Smith. You make me want to throw up in my mouth. That, again, was in response to his statement about the speech and debate cause. Which again, Mr. Kennedy has wrong. And again, being questioned about something you say on the floor is one thing. Investigating the what phone calls you make does not violate the speech and debate clause. It's one of the things where Mr. Smith got, but again, this shows a political polarization.
Kennedy is a Republican Smith representative, a Democratic president, and apparently was going after Republican members of Congress, which pisses off Mr. Kennedy. Not saying I'm surprised or even a shot or a butt again, this is, this is kind of what I've become to expect. It's more political polarization than actually, than as much an investigation into wrongdoing because again, Congress can do nothing. There's nothing Congress can do to Mr. Smith. I suppose they could technically impeach him, which means he could never serve in the federal government again, but that's really about it. But I wonder how many Americans look at these kangaroo courts, these show trials done by both political parties, and they're just, you know, they're just salivating over the red meat. That's nothing more, but more than political showmenry, the Democratist did it.
I called out the Republicans are doing it. I'm calling it out. This is not the first time, but it shows the polarization. It shows the frightful despotism that George Washington warned us about in his farewell address when he said that the alternate domination of one faction over another sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural party session, which in different ages, and countries have perpetuated the most hardy normities, is itself a frightful despotism. This is what we're living through folks. And do you know why these political partisans are salivating over the attacks on their political opponents? Because we've taught them that that's how you win elections. The American people have taught their representatives that it's more important to protect the party than it is to actually do your job. Therefore, that's where they go after the refugees. Why the Democrats did it? It's why the Republicans do it.
There's not a single Republican there that I guess is concerned about losing their job because they're not fulfilling their oath of office. Because they are exercising powers not delegated to Congress by the Constitution. So they're more worried about, again, who the political party that will control the House and Senate in a few months. Not so much about their actual oath of office. And that's because that's how we the people have taught them how they get elected. We're more worried about Donkeys and elephants than we are about the actual character of the men and women. We hire to represent us. So you want to know why polarization is so great in this country because that's what we the people feed on. That's what we've trained them. We've taught the politicians. We've taught the pundits. We've taught the media. This is how you get attention. This is how you get donations. This is how you get eyeballs so you can charge advertising.
It's by red meat. It's by political partisanship. And then we're shocked. Shock to find that political partisans that we've taught this time you elected are actual political partisans. You know, it's to me, it's interesting. We act as if we have nothing to do with this. We the people have trained them. This is how you there's two ways you get elected. Political partisanship and bribery. And then we're shocked to find out that well, our representatives are political partisans that love handing out bribes to us. Now, it's interesting because part of the way of dealing with partisans with this polarization is recognizing that not everybody's going to agree with us. And they may be just maybe have a point. I have a guest coming up a barber black man. She and her husband wrote a book that we're going to talk about that I will admit. I don't probably don't agree with Ms. Blackman on a lot of things, but I do agree on one thing.
And that is the only way that polarization comes down. The level is is if we listen to the other side, we give them the opportunity to speak their mind. And we give we were the fair hearing, you know, maybe they're right. They're just maybe they're right. So before I get to this interview, I have to take a break. And I want to remind you that your nutrition is in your own hands. Now, for some reason, my wife wants to be hang around. She wants me to eat right. She wants to lose some weight. She wants me to be healthy so I can hang around for a while. Not sure why. And one of the ways I'm doing that is with organic energy juice. Welcome back every day in Marganjuri joined the Constitution study. I have a guest with me. I have Barbara Blackman on with me. She and her husband have written what I think is an interesting book. And I got I got notified of it. I thought be great to have her on the program. Ms. Blackman, thank you so much for your time and welcome to the Constitution study. Thank you so very much for having me Paul and thank you to your listening audience. I think they're going to enjoy this because we have a lot of polarization. We talk I talk about here on the program, you know, whether it's left, right, Republican, Democrat, you know, as I like to call them, donkeys and elephants. And you know, it's become such a part of our society now that it's almost people think there's nothing you can do, but you and your husband have written a book that has a suggestion.
Tell us a little bit about you, your background of you and your husband and what led to this book. Well, I'm a graduate of Jackson State University. I'm a graduate of a University of Alabama. I received an MBA there. I received my law degree from the University of Mississippi Law School. I received an LLM in taxation from New York University. I'm a member of the Mississippi State Bar as well as the New York State Bar. My husband is also an attorney. He attended to the Luke College and the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is a member of the Mississippi State Bar as well as the DC Bar. My husband spent 41 years in the House of Representatives in Mississippi and I spent 20 years in the State Senate.
So we both have unique perspectives from both sides as to politics. I also became in 2003 the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor. This was the first time since reconstruction a black person and let's known a black woman was able to become the nominee of a major party. That's excellent. You know it. There's so much I could go there, but you're an attorney and there's a question I ask every attorney I meet. When you were in law school, did you study the actual language of the Constitution or did you study constitutional law? What do the classes you were taught in law school? I studied Constitutional law, but studying Constitutional law, you went by those sections.
So yes, we studied Constitutional law and the most important one to me was the obviously the 13th and 14th Amendment. Yes, I asked because again, Constitutional law is the opinion of judges and I'm amazed as a layperson, I never went to law school, that you can get in a advanced degree in American law without studying the actual Supreme law of the land. So that's why I ask I've got this kind of running poll and I've had one person so far in the last 10, 12 years, tell me they actually studied the Constitutional law school. But you know, I also find it interesting you're involved in state government and one of the things I always point to here is we spend way too much time focusing on Washington DC. The people have much more power and influence over state and local governments. You get you can find time with your representative state center, you can talk with them, you get so much more engaged and they're just as able to infring on our rights as Washington.
So you and your husband obviously have been engaged in what we talk about here at the Constitution study. Now you and your husband have written this book two minds, one rhythm. What's the basis of book? What's this about? Well, the book is about our shared experiences, our individual experiences, our growing up, especially my husband doing Jim Crow and him having going to jail at 16, put on a back of a chicken truck. Taken to jail because he was protesting and in Mississippi if two black people were together, then you were guilty of a protest. You could if you could not be together unless you had a permit. But what this book is about, it's not for black people, it's not for brown people, it's for all people.
It's us sharing lessons about what is happening in the United States today. And we be leaving that all of those things that are occurring in the United States, they were first begun in Mississippi. Building rights, does being a challenge right now. We know that Mississippi, we had to pay poll taxes. We had to rely upon the civil rights laws in order for us to vote. We know that what ice is doing right now to immigrants, they did that under color of law in Mississippi, shares deputies, police, Mississippi highway patrolman, they were enforcing laws against us.
Just as what is occurring across the country right now, I know that you remember just a couple of days ago, whether you as Supreme Court has allowed Donald Trump to be able to look at people's social security information to be able to see, quote, unquote, whether they are illegal citizens for voting. We've experienced that all of our lives where we would go to vote. And they are looking to see if your name is on the voting list. And somehow your name doesn't appear. What that Supreme Court did was an abomination to this country because voting is the most precious right that we have. And when you place obstacles to voting, then you're placing obstacles to people's lives.
You're saying that their lives are deep valued. You're saying that what are four fathers fought for that that was insignificant. We broke away from England because of taxation without representation. And now everything that we broke away from Donald J. Trump is instituting in the United States of America. And we as Americans have got to come together to ensure that our democracy continues to exist. Because that's what we fought for when we broke away was for democracy. That's why that US Constitution was established so that we would have more rights than what we had under the British.
Well, you know, I find it interesting because every state constitution I've checked requires a person to be a citizen of the United States in order to vote. Now that isn't a requirement established by the federal constitution, but of every state I've ever checked, which is about a half of them at this point, they'll require a person be a citizen. Now, I agree. I have issues with the enhanced was not the say back that's in Congress, but this voter thing because again, so security numbers were never meant to be ID numbers. Right, that that the law that created them, but as I understand the the original legislation before the executive order, it was a place for government agencies, state, local, federal to validate the citizenship of somebody for something that required citizenship like registering to vote. Is it the problem with that or is your the problem with accessing social security numbers?
Well, that constitution says that if you are born in the United States, you are a citizen of the United States. Except, man, it doesn't say that. It says if you're born under the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, there are that is correct. It's said. And the gentleman who proposed that language in the Senate to add that to the joint resolution that became the 14th amendment said it would he understood that to be the natural law that it would not include foreigners, aliens or children of foreign dignitaries. So the under the recognition of citizenship is not simply were you born here, you had to be born here and subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. You go back to the case one came, the Supreme Court literally said, well, he was born to parents that were subject to the emperor of China, but ignoring the language of the Constitution, ignoring the language of federal law.
They said, but he's a citizen anyway. The Supreme law, the way is not the Supreme Court subject to the laws of the United States. Now, if it does not say subject to the laws of the United States, it says subject to the United States. Okay, but if you really want to know the purpose for the creation of the birthright citizenship, if you were recall, it was because slaves, former slaves were not entitled to vote and that was created so that slaves, former slaves would have the right to vote. Yes, and that's and that that wasn't injustice done. But again, the gentleman who said that who added the language and subject to the jurisdiction thereof said that would not include foreigners or aliens.
It would not allow someone to simply show up on our shores and become a citizen. Now, I agree that everybody who is a citizen of the United States should have should have be their election should be free, fair and transparent. It needs to be open. It needs to be public. And I agree that I've seen what ICE has done has violated the Constitution. I've seen again, I don't believe the the nowhere does a president say, hey, we're going to change the rules for state registrations, state voter registrations. So I do see those issues. I've got a few minutes left, but I want to make sure tell us a little bit more about what's in the book and let us know where people can find out more. Thank you, Paul. In the book, you will find out that both I told you I shared with your audience about Edward and mine education. We focus on education because people pray on ignorance.
And we have to make certain that education is a priority again in the United States. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if people would read the Constitution for themselves and educate themselves. But in this era of TikTok and Instagram and Snapchat and 24 hour news cycles, you don't know what is actually real and what is not. The only way you can get that is educating yourself. Our parents stress education was the way out. Education was opportunity. And if Americans would go back to those basics that we learned when we were growing up and focus on education, then we could heal this fractured nation because all of us have individual talents.
But all of us share common interest in that we want to live in a democratic society. We want basic health care for our children. We want economic opportunities for our children. And if we can focus on those things, then we could heal this nation. But if we continue to allow them to divide us, then this democracy would is going to be doomed. Barbara, thank you for your time. Interesting discussion. And maybe we'll have you on again sometime. Thank you so very much Paul. And again, thank you listening audience. And please go to two minds one rhythm.com and you'll read more about the book and you can see where you can order the book.
So again, I'm sure after the discussion, there are a lot of things in this black man and I disagree on this black man and that's OK. I need to hear the we all need to hear the other side. We all need to have our assumptions questioned so that we can examine them. And I'm sure there's a lot we agree with as well. That's why I hope you enjoyed the conversation that we had. And I hope you'll take some of our ideas to heart. Maybe there's there's a truth in there that you hadn't thought of before. Now I want to remind you, Ms. Blackman came on because someone asked they contacted me through the website and they asked if I would be interested in having her on the program. You can ask a question you can ask as I interview somebody you can have a question about the Constitution or or something constitutional something we do here at the Constitution study. Welcome back everybody. Americans have rejoined the Constitution today. We've been talking about polarization. We've talked about the polarization over Jack Smith and what he did and when he did it and all that stuff. We talked about how polarization impacts our lives and what we can do about it. Well, I want to wrap up with a couple of interesting things and I'm going to start with a poll conducted by I believe is the American thinker and the democracy Institute. And they surveyed 1500 likely voters on September 21st to 23rd and they came up with some interesting results. So according to their poll 46% of these likely voters trust Democrats to better control inflation. 42% trust Republican or blame Republicans for high prices and 47% are not sure whether or not to blame a president Trump or president Biden.
Now ask whether or not the Republican Trump and the Republican have done a bet their best job on the economy 51% said no 44% said yes. And if they said if prices on every day I was plummeted 53% say with the more likely vote Republicans and 43% said no. So what am I saying? I'm seeing this political polarization. It starts with the question. Remember surveys polls it's not just the answers. It's how the questions are stated to have a huge impact on the answers and how you interpret the answer. So let's start with this trust. Now first of all most people I talk to don't understand inflation. They believe inflation is the increase of prices not realizing that the increase of prices is the consequence of inflation. But inflation is not the only reason for the increase in prices and a perfect example has shown up recently.
So everyone I know is complaining about the high price of gasoline. I said before I recently drove a truck from upstate New York down to Tennessee where I live I was collecting someone might stuff my father hadn't storage. I thought I would never be glad to see $4.00 a gallon gasoline. It was incredibly expensive and that's something people see every day. However the increase in gasoline prices is not inflation. It was an increase of price due to foreign policy. We attacked Iran. Iran disrupted one of the maiden oil choke points. The straight of our moves were a lot of oil and distil it's travel through this decrease the supply which drove up prices. That was not inflation inflation is when your money is worth less. That when something is more expensive because of some other factor. But again this lack of understanding now there people are blaming Republicans for high prices. Well when it comes to fuel.
Yes the Republicans are blamed for high prices. Why? Because they decided now is a time to attack Iran. Now is a time to say enough is enough. Whether they did it because of the fear of them getting a nuclear weapon or the fact that they declared war on us what 50 years ago. Who knows but they did and that drove up the price of other other prices are not as much as response to the Republicans. Again food's going up a lot of things are going up because of transportation costs. If you look at the history why would you trust Democrats to reduce prices especially recent history under the Biden administration. I don't know but this is people sentiments. When it comes to better on the economy it's interesting we have low unemployment. We had low inflation until until prices went up again which is not truly inflation that the home other thing.
The prices were better. Unemployment is down under employment is still pretty high but still be worked on. But I find it interesting why people say well the Democrats will do it better when you look at their history. Not everybody in the streets and again I don't care this Republicans versus Democrats. It's the policies they've put in place. Both sides like to regulate things both sides like to spend money that would make a drunken sailor blush. Both sides do this I agree which is why I don't support parties. But I find it interesting not only the poll but the analysis of the poll is all about this political polarization. This party polarization between donkeys and elephants as if that is the only factor that has led to higher prices and other things that are driving people crazy today. Again we're still dealing with multi-trade down two as a two trillion dollars expected this year.
Those are deficits. This is a Republican in the White House with Republicans in control of the House and the Senate. Apparently I agreed but the Republicans are in charge and it's still happening. So why is it being so polarized? Another area of polarization is this mental disease known as transgenderism. Now I'm sure someone out there is screaming see Paul you just polarized this by calling it a mental disease. No I may be polarizing but sadly sometimes the truth is polarizing. See truth is either true or not true. There's a simple fact there's certain things that come down to true or not true. They are truly a binary decision. For example no one was assigned a sex at birth. That a single human being was assigned a sex at birth. The closest you could get you could say well Adam was assigned a sex because God created him and created a man. And then he created Eve and said well you got man you got woman.
They were the only ones who had their sex is assigned. Sex is a function not of birth but of conception. High school biology says sex is a question of conception and you're with with extremely rare exceptions. It is defined at birth it is defined genetically and it is blatantly obvious in the physical manifestation of sex which we also call gender. I also find that interesting because when I look gender up in a dictionary languages are gendered humans have sex but again. So we have people that pretend that a boy can become a girl and a girl can become a boy simply because they think so because they want so as if wanting and wishing made things true. Now probably for most of human history there have been people who are confused they have that mental disorder. It was the diagnostic manual called a mental disorder.
For a man to think he's a woman a woman to think he's a man who was born in the wrong body. And for thousands of years there have been a small number of people who had this problem and well they they hit it for the most part. But now we have a group of people that say hey we're going to take this mental disorder and we're going to pretend it's a physical disorder. And we're not only going to start treating adults with this disorder we're going to start treating children. And of course that took the polarization turned it up to 11 because now you have families and families that recognize that this is a mental thing and that something like 95 99% of teens who think they're on the wrong body grow out of it. It's puberty right. Puebodies confusing they think maybe I got this wrong and that's being reinforced by governments being reinforced by schools is being re-enforced by child welfare policies. This is a this polar is growing. But I think part of the reason that it's growing is when parents or others say well we have to do this because this is real.
We treated as if they're true. We forget that sometimes polarization is a good thing. Again true or false jumping off a building is it a good thing or a bad thing. If you jump off of a 20 store building I will see what can say that a bad thing you're going to die unless something strange miraculous happens you're going to die. It's a binary choice. And when we pretend that boys can become girls and we allow other people to be harmed by these this delusion. Well that's a good polarization that's something we should polarize. Now I bring this up because a bill that was introduced by Senator Missouri Senator Eric Schmidt. It claims to prevent child welfare agencies from treating parents who refuse to affirm a child's transgender identity as child abuse.
Now there's a problem with this so you see this is Congress claiming a authority under the law that Congress doesn't have. At best what they could say is well we're defending a parent's liberty to raise their children as they see fit under the 14th amendment that prevents states from doing this. But again there are limits to what Congress doesn't control child productive services that's not a power delegated to the United States. So they're really kind of pushing the envelope here. And really the only punishment I see is again the federal bride will they will the state receive federal funds if their child family services defines opposition transgenderism as a as child abuse. Again it's the federal bride I agree that it is that that telling the truth to a child who's confused about their sexuality is not child abuse.
And I agree that the states go too far when they and fringe on that right they're like the 14th amendment. I'm just looking at where Congress gets the authority to redefine this and I find it only in the fact that they can they they're using their ill gotten gains to drive the American people and the states into complying with their wishes. So I'm kind of I like the idea I just don't I just like the implementation. Here's another thing polarization artificial intelligence which by the way you know Donald Trump says no no no from now on it should be called super intelligence which takes an oxymoron and makes it super stupid right because it's not really artificial intelligence. It's imitation intelligence. These these a eyes they don't think they're imitating intelligence in fact the the premier AI test the Turing test is whether not a machine can imitate a human being one off for another human being that's be able to tell the difference it's imitation.
I agree there are concerns with artificial intelligence mainly because humans think it's in real intelligence true humans act as if what it says is true and cannot be wrong. Now I want you to consider this with the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy who touted AI for doctors. He was at a Mahas summit in Washington and the he taught he taught by meeting open AI CEO Sam Altman and he said today I think it was Altman said today you do not practice for a doctor to make a diagnosis or prescription without at least checking AI. Really suddenly now a doctor can't think for himself a doctor can't reason for himself was the logic of this well. Kennedy said you may have a medical record that's a thousand pages long you have six minutes with a doctor today he's going he's not going to be able to review it but the AI can.
Okay let's stop for that for a second so the problem he sees is that do you have a a thousand page long medical record maybe do maybe don't. To me I see the problem as witnessing a wide you only have six minutes with your doctor. Why do you have a doctor that has to review your medical records completely within that six minutes before they meet you. Well having a good old family doctor that knew you that knew your background that new most of us going to the only had to review the latest changes to it. And you're going we're going to let AI review well how do you know that AI's got the analysis when they distill those records how do you know the AI got it right. Are you going to put that decision you know you come in and say okay I am AI perfect example AI I want you to do this analysis and save my wife's records. And the AI does you analysis and says okay based on that here's the summary of it and oh by the way AI leads at the fact that she has a serious allergy.
She's allergic certain medications. If the doctor just says okay well let me let me give you a medication that is a type of medication she's likely allergic to you can trust AI for that again I have no problem with AI. Doing things I have no problem with AI doing an analysis. But if a doctor is going to trust an AI then a doctor is no longer thinking a doctor now becomes an automaton behind an artificial intelligence and that ladies and gentlemen is a problem. And I think that leads to a lot of the polarization when it comes to artificial intelligence. Now you know what isn't artificial intelligence we know what you can do to control your life where you do business.
