0:00This is the other side of midnight. They run in a strange program, y'all, with Walter Sterling. Come out of your stupid get set to go with Walter Sterling and his wacky show. Whether it's wrong or right, it's the other side of midnight. He has all the news and other people's weather, dead air and jingles weaving together. Weird phone calls come in every night, but Walter doesn't stop till it's daylight. Walter has stories that are strange to hear. Sometimes they're even funny. He'll stop for the occasional advertisement. That's how he earns his money.

1:00He's got Florida stories and strippers on the loots. You know in China they call a penguin a business goose. That's probably not quite right, but it's the other side of midnight. So get under the covers, it's time to go. Shut out the lights turn on the radio. It's gonna get crazy from this point out. We hope you know this is the Walter Sterling show. The other side of midnight. Oh, look at this. Well, I have emails. I get lots of emails. And one of them here says defines you. They say the reason people listen to your show is not for the nightly parade of delusional parinoids and doctors of metaphysics and truck drivers. He says it's because of fewer commercials.

4:01I don't need any more problems. I think last month I actually talked to a sales manager. I'm exhausted from that. Last night we had on this guy who was kind of crazed and obsessed with AI. He said that AI is super smart. AI has actually been able to hack the nuclear codes and to get into some of the nuclear launch sites. I said, no. Who would have told them to do that? What country? What enemy would have told them to do that? Don't you understand there were orbs around the nuclear sites, orbs, colored, anti-gravity orbs.

5:10They told them. One of you called it and said, well, was this in any mainstream media? He said, well, yeah, it was in the New York Times. It's possible that AI is quickly evolving into more than a fancy Google site. And by the way, really disappointing Google search. Now, I see it doesn't say weezer. It says you have too many old geezers. It's completely a typo. Too many old geezers. Thank God we want to have to play weezer again. You and I can talk. 800, 8489222, 80 news. And there were different colors stunning from outer space. Didn't know what the source was. And then they managed to get through the nuclear launch codes. They managed to identify the nuclear launch codes and insert the nuclear launch codes. What's the word I'm looking for? Anyway, that happened. I said that's what he happened. AI, super AI, super intelligent AI has done that. And then one of you called in and said, which mainstream media covered? Well, it turns out it was in the New York Times. 7:11We have to find out more about that. If he was hard for me to understand, you probably didn't hear it because it was 3.20 in the morning. You probably work. 8:12I have no rules. Nothing could be better. I just get to share some stories. You and I get to talk about our lives. And we get to talk about things that matter. Our kids, the school systems. Not, you know, government schools. Government schools. No, no, no. Ideas for making the schools better. Different, interesting. How about that? The noise in the car. I'm going to go to AutoZone tomorrow and feel like a man. There are certain things that I can do to feel like a man. Which is difficult when you have three daughters and three female cats and a wife. I'm in hormone land. I'm in estrogen land. My life is surrounded by estrogen. I wake up and I get a list of demands from women. And then when I go downstairs, I get a list of demands from female cats. At no time do I get to be a man.

9:13Except when I go to AutoZone or if I'm really lucky, I get to buy a new tire. Whoa, I get to talk to like the tire guys. You think this one really needs to be changed? Should I get a new one? Are you sure about this? And then once a month, I take it to the next level. My hormones go to the next level. I go to the barber shop. And I go to a real barber shop. For me, the challenge in getting my hair done was I didn't want to get my hair done. I wanted to get my hair cut. And too often the hair cutting industry has devolved into a bisexual industry. That means that it's mostly for women. And you get to sit in the chair if you're a guy. But the chairs are the worst chairs. Bisexual chairs in salons. I always feel as though I'm going to break it. They always look too thin. Their arms are too thin. The seats are too thin.

10:15They look like they're going to collapse under the weight of a normal guy. Not a fat guy, I'm not fat. Normal guy. But they're made for women. Never comfortable in those chairs. I'd sit in them and go, this is going to collapse. And then everything, all the accoutrements are for a woman's salon. And that's fine for women. And I long for a real barber shop. Real barber shops have huge chairs, really heavy chairs. They look like the captain pike wheel chair. They're those big giant chairs. And like women look very small in them. But I love those chairs. And then the barber shops, the real barber shops are mess. The magazines are 10 years old. They're magazines that don't even exist anymore. Like 20 issues of argacy. And lots of popular mechanics. Which yes, I know still exists. Lord knows, I know it still exists.

11:15Those magazines. And then conspiratorially, if the barber likes you in the real barber shop, he goes, hey Joe, why don't you let Walter have some of what we were having? And I'm thinking, whoa, okay. And outcome the box of donuts. And outcome the coffee cake. And the good coffee. And we're men. We're in. And then they start telling stupid jokes. Not sexist, misogynist jokes. Just stupid jokes. Because what guy, got the thing that, the thing that you would be surprised at. If there are a lot of guys talking, they don't talk about, you know, I did it with my wife last night. Never. I have never heard a man talk about having sex with his wife. I've never heard a man talk about having sex with anybody. But of course, that could just be the men that I know. But I never hear that. I never hear that talk. What I hear is them just telling stupid jokes. But not about women.

12:15Not being misogynistic toward women. Groups of men. This is the other thing that may come as a shock. Groups of men like women. And we like women in a totally positive, respectful way. You know, she has a great job. Oh, yeah, she got a, she got a new outfit. She looks spectacular. That's about as far as that goes. You understand when men, when men talk about women, they know graphically. They say things like, yeah, you know, she looks really good in red. Hey, you know, she really liked that dinner. I made her that dessert again. That's about as far as it goes. And they talk about what makes them happy with women. But it's never, you know, we did that. No, it's not that. It's different. It's different. Now, I've had women friends say, well, you know who talks about, a talks about each other in graphic terms, women. Women talk about men in graphic terms.

13:17I believe that. Women have told me that. But men, men do not. When guys are together, they talk about sports and that idiot neighbor. A lot of problems with the idiot neighbors. My father spent a lifetime dealing with idiot neighbors. In physical sense, he had a physicality in his relationship with the neighbors. One side of the house, the side with the driveway, was lined with the, with the tallest hedges you've ever seen. They weren't there when we moved in. They were there after my father went to work and planted the fastest growing tallest hedges you've ever seen. And then on the others. He actually learned how to build a brick fence. My father actually bought bricks, mortar, cement, got a wheelbarrow, and he built a brick fence, which is still there, 4,000 years later. It's still there. And that's how he dealt with the neighbors.

14:17One set of neighbors we actually liked. The ones with the hedges, we hated. Absolutely hated. I don't even remember why it doesn't matter. But that was, that's how I was taught to get along with the world. But put up a wall. So you don't need to talk to the neighbors. Don't tell the neighbors anything. Neighbors don't need to know our business. That's how he lived his life. And therefore, no matter where I've moved, I've demonized my neighbors upon sight. 39:10no we're not sure when he's coming back so we can't make an appointment but he's still listed with the practice and he's still listed on their website as a doctor i could see but they they wouldn't do it well that was weird then by some fluke i was talking to my pharmacy and that's a challenge these days isn't it to have a chat with your pharmacy good luck with that and i said what what's the deal with my my physician do you have it and they knew it said he's no longer with the practice oh he's no longer with the practice according to the pharmacy and then i was bored and i went on AI and i said where's my primary care physician and AI said he's retired okay make sense older man time for him to retire but why couldn't his practice tell me that he had retired why wasn't that information available from the practice itself i asked another doctor that question you know everybody has

1:18:21I was 28 I didn't have a mortgage I didn't have a wife and I didn't have kids and therefore I could say whatever I wanted they were all talking about strategizing how to fire this guy and I looked at the the suits and I go you can't fire him the reason the company is so successful is him he is adored by the press and many people who are here are because of what he did you can't fire silence silence and my boss was in the meeting and his boss was in the meeting next day I get a call from his boss the president I get a call from the president to tell me that they weren't gonna fire the guy and then in my doorway appears my boss and my boss looks at me and says you know that meeting we just had about bomb yesterday okay well we're not gonna fire him but you understand that nobody in the company liked him nobody in our division liked him in fact

1:19:27they hated him that's why there was that meeting and I didn't know I did wasn't in his part of the company and he looked my boss looked at me he said and here's what we're gonna do Walter he's gonna report to you that's how they solve the problem he's gonna report to you and then he reported to me he said he's gonna be a big company corporate shenanigans but today he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did nor would he have been able to build what he built because he didn't really actually know how to be pleasant I saw him close enough he really didn't know how to be pleasant and today it counts for too much he's a really nice guy he's a really nice she's a really nice woman counts for too much the threat of being sent to HR never good the the threat is constant and bigger and growing but my my brother give an example my brother my brother was my brother was an
