Saturday morning in our regular time slot. The big question I think coming into this one is just the Niners look really, really good. The Broncos have two wins but haven't looked particularly sharp on offense or defense. Is this another example of the 49ers rolling to an easy victory? Or do you see troubled waters ahead? What do you think? How do you see Niners Broncos? We're definitely going to face the 60-minute ball club this week. But I do like the fact that we've kind of gotten a ramp up of the season. You know, now that we've seen the season contextualize a little bit more, we've been able to see

that the Rams are not necessarily as advertised moving forward. Miami was a good litmus test to show that we know how to travel across the world and still keep focused. But to be honest with you, Larry, after watching the four games, the three games that we played this season, Arizona's the toughest team that we've seen. They're the team that's had the most, they paid attention to most of the run game. They've had the 60-minute ball club mentality that we're going to face definitely with Denver. And really, this is just another precursor for what we're going to have to look like as the season moves forward. That's how I see Denver. They're a little bit tougher. They're more put together. But we're just going to have to be focused playing these guys. They will come back and beat you. That's their calling card. We already know that. But there's holes there. And I think we're going to get to it today. Is Arizona the best team that Niners have played or was the team that played Arizona the worst Niner team of the first three weeks because they've lost players? I would say that Arizona is the best team that we've seen this far. You think they're better

than the Rams? I mean, I'm not saying I don't think you're going to have a better record than the Rams, but you actually think they're a better team. Yeah, head to head. Head to head. The Rams are always going to look good on paper, right? I don't want to I don't want to get over my skis, but sure. It's far as the games that we've played on Sunday. There is on a cardinals had a far better, it was a far better tougher game to beat the Cardinals than it was the Rams. But I think that has a lot to do with Colleid. You know, I mean, no offense to Obo, Garonco or Khalid Karim, but they're not Nick Bosa. I think it has something to do with that. But you know what? It's a good point. The question of in this week is like, are the Niners going to keep rolling? Part of me, it says, yeah, you know, I'm kind of torn on this one. Part of me says, yeah, the Niners are going to keep rolling. Denver's 30th and yards per carry allowed 30th and rushing yards per game. Niners are running it for five, one, a carry on first down runs. They're going to continue running it well. They're going to get into third and manageable. Perdi's playing at a crazy high level.

And then defensively, Bonix can be blitzed and he's completing 44% against the blitz. And I see some advantageous situations where the Niners might be able to even win this game going away. But there is an argument that Perdi's going to struggle. And here would be the reasons. The wide receiver rooms getting more and more banged up. We don't even know about the status of Mike Evans. He's probably going to go. Shanahan is termed it a game time decision. This is going to be the 49ers most significant, you know, challenge as far as past blocking. The Niners, if you look at the first couple parts of the season, each of the first three teams, the Niners faced are currently in the bottom seven in the league in Sacks. The dolphins are the only team that has none, by the way. And now the Broncos, on the other hand, have already gotten to gotten to opposing quarterbacks for eight Sacks. That's seventh in the league tied with a bunch of teams. Zach Allen's got three by himself. Five other Broncos have a sack. So this is the best

rush. Perdi will face. And then the Broncos do have a Fonga who does have some great knowledge of Perdi. Could he somehow, you know, rotate late based on film study and wind up in a passing lane and come away with a pick. I mean, he had two last week. So he's playing good ball. Then there's Williams is not necessarily healthy. He was, you know, came out last week with a stinger. Did practice late in the week, but he's not 100%. He's going up against Benito. And then there's Sir Tan, you know, can take away, you know, he's a great corner. He's one of the dumbest dominant corners. You know, the last time the two teams met back in 2022, IU, who was the extra seaver caught three passes for 39 yards and was totally shut down by Patrick Sir Tan. So, I mean, they have a number one corner. They have a number one Russia. They have a big time nose guard. They've got a pretty good defensive scheme. 49ers do have injured wide receivers. This will be a

big test for the O line. There is the Fonga factor. What do you think, coach? Is this a week that part of me says, you know what? This is going to be a slugfest defensive battle where I don't think the Niners defense is great, but I think Denver's offense is really struggling. And then I do think Denver's defense is very good, even though the numbers say otherwise. And I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to come away with, you know, create a little bit more adversity for the Niners and Brock Purty on the offensive side. So I could see kind of a low scoring slugfest. The Broncos win all these close games, by the way. That's another factor. But how do you see it? Do you see a low scoring defensive, you know, fight it out kind of a deal? Or do you think this is going to be more of a high scoring matchup? Do you see a close game? Or do you see a blowout? I mean, this is very, it's a lot of things that could happen in this game. Coach, your audio, sorry about that. One thing that we've seen is that Brock Purty's not going to

come into this game alone. We've seen time and time again that Brock Purty is faced against defenses that necessarily a gear to stop him, right? We're going to get a really good plan. We're going to get a really good game plan from Kyle. And, you know, I hate to kind of kill kill the suspense here, but that's exactly what's going to happen. We are not going to let them repent their ears back, play downhill, and absolutely terrorists up in the run game, especially when they're pitting their ears back to go get Brock Purty. Now look, this is a defense that flies around the ball. All right, you got Malcolm Roach, you got Alex Singleton, Justin Strinod. We already talked about what we get in out of Raleigh Moss. We already have Patrick Tartan Jr. These guys fly around, but what they can't do is they can't cohesively play together as a unit. They're all over the place. And a lot of different things come up in later parts of the game for these dudes defensively until their offense finally comes on. So let's talk about the tip of the spirit, what they have that flies around. We already know about Tyler, know who funger. But let's get to these linebackers. Alex Singleton and Justin Strinod. So Alex Singleton is awesome. He's tied

with Fred Warner for I think most tackles in the NFL at 33 or 34 tackles, but all those tackles are not built the same. You start looking at the distance of where where Alexander is for the yards where where he is from the line of scrimmage juxtaposed to where let's say Fred Warner is from the line of scrimmage and it's it's damning. Fred Warner is about four yards away from line of scrimmage when he's making an average of his 33 plus tackles for the season. Alexander is almost a first down away at eight yards. He's chasing this defensive line cannot stop guys coming off the edges. Now interior wise that's where we're going to have some problems if we're going to run inside zone against these dudes. But really I think that running off tackle running our outside zone which is literally what we do. It's the name of the freaking offense. I think that's going to get these guys moving back and forth rocking and then we're going to hit them deep in pass coverage. Listen to these numbers Larry. As far as pass coverage is concerned, Alex Singleton is targeting 11 times. He's and there's been eight catches for 72.7% or 92 yards. That's 8.4 yards

of target. That's George Kiddell, Debo, Samuel, and CMC all day. The same thing with Justin Stonerty was targeted seven times four caught passes 57.1% in 72 yards with 10.3 yards per target. All right. So look the thing about these guys is that they're tackle merchants. They're hard, they're hard workers. They're going to run. They're going to run to the echo of the whistle. We get that. But as far as just intelligently knowing where to be on the field and being caught sleeping, I think the Niners can we can pretty much do whatever we want to these guys on offense. Now we're not going to we're not going to have a good day on these guys if we don't make them respect the gravity of what we do, which means that a we got to run the ball to the left. We need to be able to run. We can't be one sided. We need to be able to run the ball wherever we need to because this team cannot stop the run. But you got to find it. That's the that's the thing about Denver. They're not just going to give it to you where it's like, hey man, just run up the middle and we can't do anything about it. With them, you have to be a little bit more intelligent on how

you get to the run. But they'll give it up though. They will give it up. So for me, I think it's all going to start on the run. It's all going to start on the ground game. This team gives up over I think about over 160 yards on the ground. Over the three games this season, they gave up over 200 yards in Russian to the Kansas City Chiefs in week one. So they already know that and then also too, if you look at them offensively, they can't control the clock because they can't run the ball. The offense is not a good runner. Okay. And they've already made I think they're back. They're they're back up rookie guy. He's all but an afterthought. It's like maybe a third down back. So Denver can't control the clock on the ground on offense. They can't stay on the field on offense. I'm not even going to get into the numbers on that. I know you'll get there about what Denver's offense looks like throughout the season. But defensively, we just got to take these do's in deep water and drown them. All right. And just be methodical. Right. And I think that we can get these guys pretty handedly. Honestly, you know, it's one of those things where you know, I used to do the quality control job. And so I've done all the breakdown of the numbers throughout the

season. And the one thing of the numbers is that the numbers don't really tell a story in the first month because it's too small of a sample size. And so it's like people are clamoring to these numbers. And I wouldn't I wouldn't clamor to the numbers because I think the film shows that Denver is a good run defense. You know, Kubiak, I asked Kubiak about that this week. I mean, the numbers show that they're not good against the run. But they were second in the league with the same personnel pretty much against the run a year ago. And he's like, Hey, you know what? They're a good run. D. You know, and it's I know what the numbers say they're 29. They're 30th and this and that. I'll tell you the one number that I do kind of look at that I think's kind of interesting is the 49ers number the highest percentage of offensive drives with a touchdown scored. To me, this kind of paints a picture of what's happening with the 49ers just period. Jacksonville's fifth 35.7. Okay, I've percent. And that's highest percentage of offensive drives with a

touchdown score. Jacksonville's fifth 35.7. Okay, Troy's fourth 37.6 or 37.5. Dallas is third 38.5. Buffalo is second 40.6. And the 49ers are first at 48.1%. I mean, that is a gigantic jump 35.7 37.6 38.6 46. 48.1. 48.1. The 49ers offense has far and away been the best offense in the league. And to score 48% of your offensive drives. Perth is coming off of NFC offensive player of the month. I mean, they're doing a lot of things right on offense. There's no question about that. Now this defense is going to challenge them. And I was talking to Colton McIvitz at his locker. Niners average last week, by the way, 8.7 yards per offensive play. Okay, so they really,

you know, were good. But Denver does, but it's 45% of the time. I went through all three games with a fine tooth comb. I counted 27 times that they went zero blitz, 27 zero blitzes, where they're just coming after you. And they're just basically saying, we're forcing the ball out of your hands. So this may be one of those games where Brock's got to get rid of it. You know, he's got to, he's got to check it down. He's got to, you know, he's got to hit the top of his drop. The ball's got to come out. You know, I mean, he can't hold the ball against the team that had 68 sacks last year. I mean, to put that in perspective, the Niners said 20. And they've got eight, Denver's got eight more of this year. So they will, you know, their defense coordinator, Vance Joseph is, you know, he'll throw the kitchen sink at you. But, um, and he can do it all. And he's very sound, but they will go zero blitz on you. And, and I expect that, you know, those are plays where whatever you've called, you've got to kind of

speed it up and get it out because they're going to come after you. And then it's the other thing that's really obvious coach is that man with a Fonga and this kid Jones Brandon Jones, what 13 tackles last week, they're playing like they're, their fronts and their coverages are married together at a really high level. So when they do blitz and speed you up, their DBs are keenly aware. And they're rallying up and they're showing up at the ball, you know, you know, sometimes ahead of time, sometimes as the ball's arriving. So it's really timed up well and coordinated between their rush and their coverage. Um, so that to me is a big concern. There's going to be a handful of plays in this game where they just zero blitz come all, you know, jailbreak on party, send one more than you can block and just force the ball out of his hands. And hopefully the Niners are efficient enough on first and second down that that's not in a third and long situation. Because you get into a third and long against them, they're going to bring, you know, the house and kind of,

you know, force either in completion or turnover. It's going to, you know, it's going to be super interesting. It's like the whole game in the NFL right now is give one look and then at the snap, rotate into something different and make the quarterback process as he's in the midst of his drop and Brock Perty's doing that. He can process like that. Um, so, you know, will they, will they blitz him and give him defined reads and, you know, I mean, or will they try to muddy the picture and and will they will will will will funga freelance, you know, one of the things that when watching film the last couple of weeks, you feel like you're watching a certain coverage. And then I'll send you like, wait a second. Is that the right? Is that that coverage? And then you look at it and you're like, well, wait a second. No, that was boot a baker freelancing. It was this coverage. It was just boot a freelancing and it made it look like something else. So a lot of times for Perty, it's not about going to be about reading the full field coverage or even a half field coverage. It's just,

hey, he's got, he knows he's got a two man game going over here. And I think he's going to have to kind of simplify and eliminate, you know, he may not be able to sit there coach and go from one to two to three to four. He may have to work sides and play that two man game and try to get the ball out fast. It's a or b a or b, you know what I mean? So I think that's something interesting to watch for is Denver's going to blitz, but they're also going to bring the zero, the cover zero. And how do you do? How do you deal with that? How do you deal with all that pressure? And Brock, I think it's ideally suited to deal with it. We'll see how what it looks like on Sunday. Yeah, I'm excited to see what the game plan, what they put together as far as a game plan. And we already know that that's what they're going to do defensive. They are defensively lead team. So blitzing and trying to get off tempo, especially when you're going to get to an offense that thrives off of tempo like we do. One thing I noticed about this offense this year is that we are a quicker offense, right? More efficient. I wouldn't say hurry up, but we move now. I've definitely

been calling the games and noticed the tempo. Niners have pretty much wanted the highest score in offences is something that few as plays played in the season. So that just goes to show you how explosive that we've been. But I don't think this is going to be one of those explosive games. I really believe that we have to outclass these guys were processed. Kyle Shanay is going to come in. And obviously I think it's going to be a big keylin black day. You want to preserve a CMC to see what you can do against these guys. I know you've pushed back on the run on the run defense because they are just think that there may be a little bit better than the. I don't know that they're going to be. I don't know the Niners can be able to run it up and down the field like the numbers say they should. Right. And I've watched what running on them looks like. And it's not what you think. It's not just guys getting moved off the line of scrimmage. You know, these guys are getting dominated and they're not tough. When you hear of the unit that isn't good is stopping the run. You automatically think of guys who just can't do the job. And let's talk about the elephant in the room. You almost look at our defensive line to be honest with you. So you think of teams where they can't get stout.

That's not what Denver is. They have a lot of guys around that defensive line that are going to help them. My issue with them is that they play with their ears pinned back. Okay. So there's a lot of situations in run defense. I mean, when they're playing run, when these guys are getting washed out of gaps, these guys are over playing runs. They are not disciplined because they are a very, very opportunistic defense or both sides of the run and the pass. That's where I'm coming from. And I'm glad that you highlighted that, Larry, because I think that that needs to be really talked about as far as they're not bad on defense. The 140 plus yards that they're giving up weekly isn't necessarily about them not being good. But it's that they don't play well together. And also too part of their defense gets leaky when the human element takes over. They get left on the field a long time. This defense, this offense, this is them. No does them. No favors. As far as being able to at least let them like feel their way into game. I think the last game that they play,

they were on a feel for over 87 snaps on defense, which is insane. So right now, yeah, you got a defense that can play well when they're utilized correctly. But I'm not waiting. I'm not, you know how last week, one of the best things that you said, in my opinion, was that the runner, the, the Niners best run defender at the time with their offense, right? And I just think that the Denver Broncos worst defensive player right now is their offense. It's just not going to help them. So really, I'm looking to see, um, often defensively what the Niners can do to really close the door on Denver, because if they get Denver any type of traction offensively, the flip side of that, if we're talking about complimentary football is now we got a defense that's rested, ready to play, and the game pin, the game plan changes, um, as far as the Niners are concerned. Yeah, yeah, all really good points. I would say the, you know, if we hammer down on what's, you know,

the brass tax on this thing, what are going to be the key elements? By the way, I'm watching a little bit of Bama and Mississippi State and Mississippi State. Well, I miss, I think Mississippi I love this quarterback for Mississippi State. Mississippi State's got a real Taylor, Camario, yeah, Camario Taylor. Yeah. Um, he's big. He's got a gun. He's a dog. I love the way he throws it. I mean, he's pretty raw. He's pretty raw. But I, no, not to leave, but Mississippi State. Everybody saying that he might leave. Go to another big school. Oh, he's young. Yeah, I love him. I mean, I love the way he throws the ball, but Alabama, no score in the early going. Alabama's ranked seven. We always start slow. Yeah. I'm ready. I stayed away from this one this week, but I do, I did watch Mississippi State last week, and I really love that kid Taylor. Um, but I think the key factor in this game is, it's going to be Bonex and how does,

does Rahim Morris defend Bonex? Bonex doesn't play well for four quarters. He's your typical strong arm, great foot speed college quarterback. You know, I'm saying how much I like Taylor. A lot of ways, Taylor's like Bonex. I mean, he's super fast and athletic and he's got a gun. You know what I mean? And you see this all over college football, the five star quarterbacks, Lenore sellers is this way. You can move around and he's got a gun. You know, power arm, power runner. That's what that's what defines great quarterback in college. But you know, great coasts up pointed out that those are not the traits that define great NFL quarterback. And a great NFL quarterback has to be able to play from the pocket and read coverages. And I just think that I'm not sure if it was you that said it to me in a phone call that we had earlier this week or if it was somebody else, but make Bonex play quarterback play quarterback. That was me. Yeah, make Bonex play quarterback. Keep him in the pocket. Make him, make him read it. Right now Brock Purdy Tim Ryan said it on the radio this week. He's totally right.

He's like Brock Purdy right now is reading it and ripping it. And that's what he's doing. He's reading the coverage and he's ripping it. He's got an extra Velo on it. Bonex is is is not reading it or ripping it. If you walk, there's not a lot of clean past plays. He doesn't have great numbers with Waddle. He doesn't have great numbers with Sutton. He's not, he doesn't have that feel. You can confuse him. If you blitz him, he completes 44%. But one thing that that we saw last week was Jacobi Perset and Arizona kind of burned the Niners a little bit with the quarterback keeper game. And I mentioned it to Rahim and he said it was a key. And then when I mentioned it to Kyle yesterday, I said, Kyle, how important is it to, you know, defend that keeper game and keep him hemmed in the pocket and not let him extend and make plays outside the pocket. He said crucial. And you could tell he was like, he was like, I absolutely agree. This is like one of the biggest things. If you and you said it, if you make

Bonex play from the pocket, the 49ers going to win this game and they're going to win this game big. If Bonex has to play four quarters from the pocket, if Bonex, if they can run it, though, because the Niners are 30 second against the run in some categories. If they can run it and Bonex gets out of, you know, breaks contain all day and is running all over the place. We could, we could literally finish the game with people calling up the post game saying, I think Bonex is one of the best quarterbacks in football. He just ran for 77 yards and threw for 320 and, and, you know, I think he's awesome. He's going to be the next great quarterback. That's what people are going to say in the post game. If they let him break contain and run around and do what he wants to do, but if they keep him in the pocket. It's not just electric. Hey, it's Kelly Rowland. You may not know this, but I have Exama, so I get how it can still your time. But why let Exama take over when you can talk to your doctor about Epglis? Epglis, Lebrichizmab, LBKZ, a 250-mg per 2-mg leader injection is a prescription medicine used to treat adults and children 12 years of age and older, who weigh at least 88 pounds or 40 kg, with moderate to severe Exama. I think it's 49ers, like, you know, 38-17, something like that. Yeah, I also think that there's a lot of opportunities for Kyle to kind of dust off the playbook and show a little bit of his expertise. One thing that Sean McVeigh was doing offensively versus Denver is that Denver plays a lot of base, okay? They don't do a lot of moving around. They're a stubborn defense. And from that standpoint, you can really play around with these guys' paws when it comes to packages and getting guys in really bad situations. One thing that I saw that Sean McVeigh did last game against him is 13 personnel, but he kept mixing it up. So, look, if you go ahead and look at what they did in like a 2x1 look, all right, and it looked like 2x1, but really what it was,

honestly, was 13 personnel. They had it in a 2x1 look and what they did is they took Stronon and they locked him on the number 2 on the other side. What that did is that locked him on to Devonte that right there can be Debo Samuel. That right there can be Christian McAfry. They're going to do that. The Niners are going to come out in 21, 12 and they're going to make it look really, they're going to make it look really basic and they're going to load them versus sleep by getting them into base, making them feel comfortable where they can pin their ears back, Vance Joseph, Vance Joseph, old Hobbits, dark heart. So, he's definitely going to blitz, especially if the game gets, game starts kind of getting at an impasse where the Moas up for grabs. I really believe that the Niners are going to be able to take these guys a deep water and drown them. You got to get this defense in a bad position to let them know that, you know, hey, individually, these guys fly around. Now, I would look at these guys healthy-wise just right now. They're a better unit than our defense. This is a really good defense for Denver. However, these guys aren't intelligently built and

there's a lot of ways that you can get at them from skiing, from turning up, from basically getting to the run game early. I think a lot of teams that are kind of scared of them. Kansas City gave the blueprint right away. Run on these guys. Run. Another big element too. Brock Perty is going to have to run too. It's going to have to break the pocket. He can't let these guys feel as though that when it's a pass play, there's no threat of those rush lanes getting taken advantage of. So, it's going to have to be kind of like a laborer love. It's got a group effect. Brock has got to run. The team's got to all get in there. I love to see all three backs get touches in this game. It's that type of game with Denver. You can't play around with these dudes. You know, that's interesting. They have three backs, but Jonah Coleman is, he's on the IR and JK Dobbins is basically the only guy. RJ Harvey's only carried five times in three games. So even though they have three backs, Bama just went up seven. Nothing. I'm just going to be able to score it. Yeah. I may live bet that

one. I was I want to take a look at the way that I do. Come on. Make some money. Larry. I may have to live bet that bad boy. I'm, I'm, I don't say anything. I may, you know, here we go. But I'm okay with that. Y'all got to be high. I'm not the third. It's bad. Yeah, you can go bam a minus 11 and a half on the live bet. They're up seven. Nothing. Okay. So just a thought on that. I do expect Denver to go up tempo at some point. They do have a great offensive line. I was talking to some of their people this week. They said, Hey, when they absolutely got to have a yard, they run behind Quinn miners and and McLean she on the right side. So I think that will be something to look for. But what have you really thought about their run game though? Like, all right, we understand the. What do I really think about it? I mean, I, I mean, I've got different thoughts about it. I mean, for personnel was I love all three of their guys. I think Coleman's, you know, got great contact balance, but now he's hurt. I think Harvey could is a really great talented back who could

be a star in his own right, but they're not, he's not the number one guy. And Dobbins is always about injuries. You know, he's he's good until he's not good. But like when I watch them on the, when I watched it actually on the film, what I see is just a young offensive coordinator in Davis Web. Okay. Who doesn't it looks like he's using the regular season as kind of like a testing ground to see what I mean, like the Niners have been doing this forever. Shanahan's been doing this forever. He knows exactly what he wants to do. He knew exactly what he wanted to do probably against Denver a month ago. He probably, you know, and they've got a real, real good idea of how they want their run game to look. Denver does not Denver's running outside zone. Denver's running duo. Denver's running power. Denver's running inside zone. Denver's dabbling with about six different schemes. And there's no continuity to what they're doing. They, they have success. I mean, one time I saw them run predominantly outside zone. They had some success. The next, the next series, they're running

power and they didn't go back to outside zone for like three more series. So they're really dabbling in a lot of stuff. They, they do their RPOs. They're running that they're having the quarterback break contain. They're, you know, they're looking for him to scramble. They're, they're just like, they're dabbling right now. And I don't know if they're really, it's because Dobbins hasn't been there that long and hard. I don't know or, or, or it's because of Davis Webb or I don't know what, why they're using so many different schemes. But there's really no. In the early part of the year, there's been very little continuity to what the Broncos are doing offensively. I mean, to give you an idea of this 45% of Denver's offensive drives thus far in three games, have ended in a punt. 45% I do think there's a chance this is a low scoring game from the standpoint of the Niners are running it well on first down. So they're, they're not getting into third and long a lot. So I don't know that Denver's going to get huge negative plays. And what's happening is the 49ers

lead the NFL. They're getting to third and two, third and three all day. They're staying out of third and long. Well, if you give a play caller and a quarterback like Brock Purty, third and two, you know, they're going to convert all day. And the Niners lead the NFL with a 63% third down conversion rate. I mean, that, that is an awesome conversion rate. 43% would be damn good. 63% is unheard of. So I mean, there's, there's things like that that I just, I, you know, you're always kind of wondering who's going to win the day? Who's going to get the game on their terms? Nick Wagner had that stat. We already mentioned it. The Niners have scored a touchdown of 48% of their offensive drives this season through three games far and away the best in the league. It's not just the highest in the NFL this year, coach. It's the highest percentage by any team in its first three games in the NFL in the last wait for it. 45 seasons. 45 seasons since a team

in through three games has scored on this high a percentage. So you know what? You know, it's not that the Niners are playing well. They're playing really well. And it's not that Brock Purty's playing pretty good. He's playing amazingly good. So I definitely think the Niners are the team playing better football coming in. But you know, the NFL, it's always, you know, you're always a turnover away from some root awakening or you know what I mean? It's not it doesn't. Yeah. It's always one play, one bad game, one scenario, one narrative and everything flips. Yeah. Exactly. So, so that's, you know, that's that's that as far as we don't it's hard to know. I definitely let you say this. Every we're at that point in the year where the Niners have the Rams and they beat the Rams. But did they get credit? No. People like the Australian Rams, you know, even even George Kiddell said it yesterday. You know, this girl tried to ask this question, like, have you not

played anybody? You know, pick. Here we go. Look at this. Pick six. Bama. Yeah, pick six. Bama. 14. 16. 14. That session of damn live bet that live betted dude. Go. You know, it's not over. Go. Hold on a second. Of course, they're taking it off the board now. Now they don't want you. No games, man. Now they don't want you to bet it. Yeah, there's a big line through it now. Yeah, bro, that's what you get for doubt in the tide. That's what you get. I know. Well, we'll see, and I don't see Mississippi state as a big comeback team. Now I lost my thought. I lost my train of thought. What was I talking about? You were talking about, oh, there this is not a, this is not a one. It's not a just a good nine or offense this year. This is an all time offense. I mean, Brock Purdy has better numbers right now than then then then Josh Allen. I mean, that's the fact. Listen, look at this Brock Brock Purdy 73 72.3% completion percentage. Josh Allen 65.

Brock Purdy 789 Pass yards. Josh Allen 786 less. Brock Purdy nine touchdowns. One pick. Josh Allen five touchdowns two picks. Brock Purdy yards per temp 9.5. Josh Allen 9.1 quarterback rating Brock 133.1. Josh Allen 104.1. I know what you're doing. I'm just saying Brock Purdy right now. No, I'm not saying he's the MVP. I'm saying he's playing at a crazy level. Highest level. Highest level. There's not a level better. Let's say that. Brock is playing on an amazing level, but it's the quarter pole. We just hit the quarter pole at a season. Let's get through it. Let's get, let's let the young man see a defense that's halfway actually really good. So let's get to the Denver game. Let's get to the Seattle game. I'm not holding back praise or admiration for Brock, but what I am saying is just be where our feet are. I want the kid to have a great season, but you know, I just, it's just close talking

about Josh Allen and what he's doing and what Brock is doing. I think that right now, if the if the conversation is Brock Purdy is playing some of the best football in the NFL, if not the best football in the NFL, I quarterback. I'm right behind you, but I just want to be able to see more of it in the consistency because that's what makes you great being able to keep the consistency. Now, the question that I have to ask you is, is this good Brock or is this new Brock? Okay, so we've had chasms, we've had we had peaks and falls in his career. Right now, we pretty much say that this is this is kind of one of one of one of the best times that he's played in his career. So is this a new level of Brock? Are you expecting, is this the new standard? Or is this something that you just always seen? And it's like, well, you know, Brock's just want to hit her right now. What do you feel about what you've seen for Brock Purdy with three games? Well, I honestly feel is that in the past, we've said, man, Brock has got this going and that going

and a lot of positives, but then I would always point out, but he doesn't have this. He doesn't have the get on my back and I will carry you. Right. Now he does. Now he's, he, you are the same shit that I would. Now we know what I got. What's that? That's called grown ass man. He's ready to carry. He's ready to carry. He's ready to drive the thing and carry it. And, you know, I I could see it this summer. We talked about it a lot. You know, it's hard to kind of quantify. Right. It's like, my Brock looks a whole lot better. He like, well, he's always looking. No, no, no, no. He looks, he looks amazing this summer. He has taken another step. And you say, well, what is it? I think it's both. He's reading it better than he's ever read it before as far as coverage. And he's ripping it better than he's ever ripped it before. And when I say ripping it, he said this week that he's actually throwing the ball harder that he's trying. He doesn't like

and Mick, the Mick Lambert. He doesn't like Rahim thinks it's funny and Kyle later. Funny. They, they don't dig the layer King. It's a pejorative. It's game manager meets 2026. It's, it's Cam Newton's saying it. You know what I mean? It's like, it's, you can hear Cam about to say it, you know, it's a pejorative. It's a rip. And Brock pretty knows it and Mick knows it. And so he's instead of layering it in there, he's lasering it in there. That Camarrient Taylor just laser to ball the sidelines by the way, that kid's got an absolute hose. But Brock Brock is throwing it harder. Now that's not, you know, hard throwing the ball, having more speed on the ball is not necessarily the bottom line to winning. But I mean, this guy's playing at a really high level. He's reading the coverage and he is letting it rip. And right now, I guess my big question would be like, what do you think he's got it receiver in this game? Brandon Cooks was promoted to the 53 man,

roster. George Kiddah was asked about Brandon Cooks yesterday. And he's like, he's really fast, which is an odd thing to hear anybody say about a 32 year old receiver. But I would expect Cooks to have a significant role in this game. I'm hoping Watkins has a continuing role in this game. Dante Pettis had two practices. By the way, how, how right was I to rip that? I'm like, Dante Pettis is not, that's not a good answer. He played two practices out with a calf strain. I mean, it's just like, what are we doing? It was funny. Like, hey, did you think about, like, because you know, you know what we do? Where is content? Did you have a second thought about when you were writing, when you were doing the video for Dante? Like, I'm not even wasting the battery power on this update. Like, why am I even doing this? He won't be here by the time this shit uploads. I just, it just feels like they're coming up with

creative ways to not get the ball to Jordan Watkins. And it's like, even Shanahan, I felt like Shanahan when he was asked about Watkins. He was positive, but he, but he wasn't really positive. It was like kind of like, yeah, he made two catches. It's like, you threw him two balls. How about this? How about this? Maybe play him the same number of snaps as you played? I don't know. Cedarol Hodge. And we'll see what he's got. I mean, he played 15, I think I played 15 snaps. They threw him two balls. He caught two balls for 60 yards. And you're going to sit there and be like, well, he caught two balls. You threw him two balls. You know, that's it. I mean, it's like, get this guy on the field and throw him the damn ball. I will take my chances with the rest of it. I don't care what people say. All this. There's so many people that have no idea what they're talking about. It's like, oh, you know, this guy, the reason he's not out there is he's a horrible blocker. It's like, what? A horrible blocker? Receiving blocking is truly about just effort.

Effort? Just about effort. I've seen, you know, then, then tell him to block harder, but a no, he know, but you're not going to be able to tell Cedarol Hodge that run 437. So I mean, you know, it's like, what this kid's got? They don't teach. So I mean, it's just, it's amazing, man. It's like, you have this dangerous weapon. You drafted him. And it's like the jokes on you. If the guy can't play the next question is, why the hell did you draft him? If you didn't like him, his blocking so much that you're not going to play him. Why didn't you see him blocking college? What does it mean? I mean, you either misevaluated this guy or you're mismanaging him. But either way, get him on the damn field. You have no receivers after, after, if Evans is going down, you've got every good receiver. You just signed Dante Pettis. All right. So you're obviously desperate. You know, I mean, that's, that's almost Ohio trailer park desperate. I mean, that's desperate.

You're just crazy. You're going off the third. Pattern buckle. But I mean, come on, man. Put this guy on the field and throw him the rock. He got to get on the field, man. Jordan Watkins has got to play. It's time. The doghouse stuff has got to get thrown out of the fucking window, dude. It's time for this kid to step up. And obviously, the vacancies are there. I can see you can play this whole, you know, contestant of who wants to win the Rose Bullshit if you want to on who gets on the field. But right now we're dropping like flies and really getting them in isn't the question is, is he ready? You guys should be already coaching his guy to be able to step up to the spot. Now I will say this. There had to be something going on inside the building because no player walks up. I love the story. But I, you know, what triggered it? No player goes up to a coach and says, what do I have to do to get on the field unless he feels like he missed the plot. So there is an element of this where Jordan Watkins could have been on the outside looking in. He probably could have been depended on

for a couple of roles. And let's be honest, Larry, he's been here for what's his second year or his third year? This is third year. Third year. Yeah. He's been here three years. The fact that we've had all of these receivers come in here. Part of that reason is because he has not been given them any type of assurances that they don't need to go refill the room. So trying to make yourself a trying to make yourself an actual asset while new guys have already come in on your watch can be a bit rich when you're trying to figure out your way through making a football team as a young player. So right now Jordan Watkins has two things on his side. He's got youth in ability. Right? He just needs to check that second year. Check it. He was a 25 year. Yeah. 25. Yeah. 25. But he needs to get on the field immediately. And well, you know, all these people talk about blocking. Does Devonte Smith of the Eagles a sea and awesome blocker? I would say he's not. I would say he's not. You know, I mean,

every receiver, you think of some of these slight receivers in the past where they all great blockers, Taylor Gabriel got on the field for Shanahan in 2016 with the Falcons. He was 5'8, 168 pounds. Was he a great blocker? Well, he scored a lot of touchdowns. He sure made a lot of big plays. You know, it's like, can we ask? It's like, you know what? I got a real problem. My Maserati doesn't do off-roading. What? What? Yeah. I can't go mudding in my Lambo. I got a real problem. It's a freaking Lambo. You're not supposed to be doing mudding in your Lambo. It's like, you got a guy running 437 who can absolutely, you know, take the top off and you got nine or fans trying to sound smart. Like he doesn't block. You can't be out there. You know what that is, no Larry? What? What that is is everybody gets genius osmosis through being a college shanty hand coach. Oh, it's just ridiculous

because my playboy playmate wife does not a great cook. Oh, the forser. Tell Miss, tell Miss Mayer to hit the bricks because she can't make grilled cheese. Dude, because Kyle is a quote unquote genius. You have everybody pulling out their latest fucking billbellicic schemes of, oh, man, well, you know, he doesn't block. Well, well, well, you know, the scheme doesn't look right. It's, you know, it's what Kyle calls out. It's like, motherfucker, you don't know half way, half the shit that you're talking about, bro. It's really just like, do you remember the NFL film? It feels like a genius. Yeah, do you remember the NFL? Do you remember the NFL films video of Jerry Rises 10 greatest blocks? I don't. That's right. I don't. What do you remember seeing the film of Randy Moss's 10 greatest blocks? I don't. I mean, ridiculous. It's, it's a synonym. It's like saying, like saying my off. I don't like, I don't like my offensive guard. He runs a, he doesn't run a good 40.

What? You've been, you've been, you've been really, you've been hard up on, uh, Georgia Watkins lately. Why, what, what makes him, why, why are you such a believer? What have you seen in practice? And then Tre Harris went down in the middle in the first game of the year and they just threw him in there. He scored nine touchdowns and he led the SEC. I've seen him beat man. I've seen him beat zone. He's got a jet pack attached to him. He's got incredible speed and explosiveness.

He can take the top off the defense and he's not one of the most of the guys that can take the top off the defense are kind of pussies and they weigh like 158 pounds and they say they're 175 but they really don't weigh anything and they can't take a hit. This guy was raised 207 pounds or whatever. He's like 210 and he runs in the 437 range. So and it's legit. This guy can take a hit. So I saw him make some plays last summer before he went out with the ankle injury that were the best plays of camp. Deep post, Purdy's hitting him in stride. And I'm telling you the separation that this I mean it's a ridiculous conversation. If the separation that this kid gets and as accurate as Brock Purdy is throwing the deep ball put him out there and throw him the ball and that's all that's all it's going to take. It's all it's going to take. Brock will find him. He'll make big plays. Everybody will be touting this guy. I mean think about this way. What if they threw him seven balls

last week? What have been playing 15 snaps? What have he played 30 snaps? What if they threw seven balls and he caught five for one 55 and a touchdown? Would people be saying different things? Yes. Yes. So I mean it's not like this guy's failed or it was not strong enough. You got to be one of two things in the NFL to succeed a receiver. There is no receiver that doesn't fit one of these two criteria. You either have to be able to run or you got to be tough and preferably the best guys can run and are tough. And when you look at some receivers, the thing that's so frustrating about Pettis is he doesn't run and he doesn't get off the line of scrimmage. You know he gets man handled at the line of scrimmage and then he also can't separate down the field. So what would you say you do here? I think Pettis is here simply as insurance against Evans being hurt, cowing having to play tons from scrimmage and maybe them wanting another guy who they're comfortable catching

punts because Watkins has not been as consistent. I'll grant you that. He's more consistent than Debo catching punts. Debo is a circus catching punts. I mean I've watched it practice. I'm just sold on Debo being a kick returner. Yeah. Debo is not a partner. Well, Debo probably could catch punts. He just has no interest in it and he doesn't try that hard at it in practice. Like you should watch him catching punts in practice. You can read the language. He's catching punts like a guy who's like saying out loud. I don't want to catch punts. I'm not I'm not I don't want to be here. I'm not joking. I'm totally 100% serious. He fields punts in practice like he's yelling at the top of his lungs. I don't want to be doing this. Seriously, he'll catch one. He'll catch one. He'll drop one. He'll juggle one. He'll catch one. He'll drop one. He'll juggle one. I mean, he and he's got he's got better hands than that. He does not want to do it. He'll do the kick return thing because he's

really great at it. But it's different. But anyway, so I think that's part of the issue. Now, here's the other question. How are they going to they're going to use Matthew Judon to rush the pastor? I talked to him yesterday. What a great guy. He is, by the way. You know, I was asking him, I'm like, what are you into after outside of football? He's like, man, I got a I got a little boy who's playing playing, you know, pop Warner and I'm coaching him and I got some girls in the house as well that I'm trying to raise and spending time with my kids. And he's just like, and he's just like, you could just tell me this, you know, this guy's not a kid. Yeah, he's not a kid, man. He's a he's a full on dad mode, but great guy, terrific interview. I really enjoyed talking to him. I'll talk to him a bunch this year. But I'm hoping Judon gives him something, man. I really do. I'm hoping he gives them some juice off the edge. They need as much last week. They got it done with Obo Ocaroqo and Khalid Kareem as their primary defensive end tandem. Yeah, that was surprising,

but they they made it work right now. Don't pay attention to the names. Pay attention to the production because that's what it's going to be for a while, especially without Nick Vosa. My biggest issue right now is just waiting to see how we're going to be able to handle all of these guys once they come back because I do believe that there's going to be kind of a mass ex like a mass influx of guys coming into the defensive line. There's so many guys hurt. There's no way else to go but up. But right now, my kill Williams being tested out with open practice window, which is huge for this defensive line. What I can't wait to see is Keon White and my kill Williams playing together because I think they have the same skill set. One's a little younger. We understand that my kill Williams is supposed to kind of he's the he's the phantom Keon White is the Christ of 300. We get it. But where Keon White is in his pat and his rush plan with being able to get to the quarterback, I would say that he's a little bit farther along than my kill Williams being able to keep my kill on the on the field while still having Keon White

on the field is something that's going to help us out in huge ways. I'm for the defense. So they got guys coming. You know, it's not done. And I just think that this is the normal with the defense. There's always going to be guys coming in and out. I just hate to say that, but I just kind of looks like that's the way the season is going to roll. Let's put coach and I in the corner and we'll do our prize picks lineup right here. And we've already I've already put it together because we were kind of fixed or kind of hurting for time. So I'll share that screen and we'll move this over here with our graphics. And thank you to prize picks use code HMA play five dollars. If you win it, they're giving you $150 in bonus lineups. So thank you to prize picks for being a proud sponsor of the crew show. All right, here's our four pick power play. Five dollars pays us $48.75. This is where I'm going with this week coach. I'm going with Brock Purtey with an longer longest rush of longer than 10 and a half yards. We've got to have an 11 yard run. I just

think Denver is going to provide more pressure. They're going to do more things. They play a lot of, you know, they, as I mentioned, they're going to have some cover zero. They're going to play some man. They're going to turn their head on Purtey. And I think he's going to have a good 15, 20 yard run at some point. So I like that one. Then I got Fred Warner last week. He had 17 tackles. I was talking to KJ right this week. I said, man, Warner and Greenlaw had that film look and he's like, watch out this week. He's like, they're, they're going to be even better this week. So I said, really? So you get nine and a half tackles and assists for Fred Warner. As I said, he had 17 tackles last week. So that looks like it. That looks good. And I do think Denver's going to try to run it on the Niners. So Warner, you know, Dobbins left for three Warner on the tackle. I mean, get ready for that. I mean, you're going to hear that all day. Then I'm going Kayla on black because I think the Niners are going to try to run it at this Denver defense. And I think black is ready for his bus doubt performance. I don't think it's really going to take a bus doubt. 24, 24 yards is takes you

over the 23 and a half. I think that's, that's going to happen. And then Jalen Wattles had one good game. He said two bad games. He gets matched up probably against Marquis Segal at times in this one. And I think Denver's going to go to him. You know, four and a half receptions. All he needs is five receptions on the day. I got to, you know, I got to think that he's going to have five receptions. I really do. I'd be even though I think four Niners are going to do a good job at, you know, muddying the pocket for for bone X. I still think Wattle. I think they're they're coming into this game. If they're looking at their first three games are going to look, we got Wattle off in one of these games. We, you know, we got to get him off. He's their big acquisition in the off season. So he's got to have five receptions. If all these things happen, four, four, five dollars pays $48.75. Thank you to prize picks for being a proud sponsor of the crew show. We appreciate them greatly. All right. Give me a player or a matchup that you're looking for in this one. I

have a couple that I'm really focusing on. Give me one that you, or I can go first or you can go first, but either way, give me a matchup you like. All right, man. If we're going to go with a matchup, I like is definitely got to start with the trenches, man. I'm going with Dominic Pune versus the interior rusher for the for the Denver Broncos. What's that? Zach Allen. Zach Allen. Dominic. Glad to be NFL and quarterback hits. Lenscher. Yeah. Dominic Pune. We already been talking about him. I love this because for me, this is the heavyweight belt of the fight. Now I get it. Nick Benito and Trent Williams. All right. That's going to be a good one. But if you want to talk about a real heavy weight body blow fight, it's going to be Pune versus this guy from Denver, man. I'm telling you, Pune has been playing at an all pro level. And right now, you know, with offensive line, you can't really fake offensive line when you're playing in the trenches. Either you're playing good or you're

not. But I want the offensive line collectively. And I want to stay on Pune, but just collectively, I want them to keep the same energy. This is a really good defensive line across the board, especially on the interior. If the offensive line comes in and handles business against these guys, especially with Dominic Pune on the inside versus what's my guy's name again? Alan Zach Allen. Zach Allen. That's the matchup for me. Zach Allen and Dominic Pune. It's going to be a heavyweight. It's going to be a really big fight. I can't wait to see it. Well, and they got DJ Jones who's so strong in there as well. That'll be a challenge for Brendel Malcolm Roach. Yeah, they've got some talent for sure. Zach Allen, they'll lead the NFL in quarterback hits last year among defensive tackles. And whether he gets Colby or whether he gets Pune, he's going to be a handful. For sure. I was talking to McKibbet set his locker this week about Zach Allen. I said, you know, Colton, the thing that I noticed about Zach Allen is that he can generate a ton of speed in a short area. So like, all of a sudden, you feel like you've got him blocked or he's not moving towards

the quarterback. And then he just takes three steps and he develops a lot of speed and he hits the quarterback hard. So he is a, he's a dangerous guy. He's an absolute dangerous guy. I think the matchup that favors the Niners is whether it's Brandon Cooks or Jordan Watkins going up against Riley Moss. I mean, Riley Moss has, you know, had a lot of penalties last year, a lot of penalties. And he'll wrap up a Watkins if Watkins runs by him. And I think that, you know, that's the thing with big time speed. When you have big time speed on the field that puts pressure. When you feel pressure, you wrap guys up at 21 seven, Bama. Now they just went for another touchdown quarterback but Riley Moss is, is gets picked on a ton because he's got Sir Tan on the other side. But I just think either Cooks as the veteran or Watkins as the burner youngster. I like that matchup against Riley Moss. I think both those guys have the ability to win. I think Perdi's going to, going to exploit that. The other one that I think's a huge matchup is you got to force Talonoa

Hafonga in this game to play past coverage. You think about Hafonga. There's two distinct, you know, thoughts in my brain when I think about what he looks like on film. When he's coiled and leaning forward, he's, he's as good as any safety and football. He's an all pro. He's an all pro. He's smart. He's in his playbook. He knows his tendencies. He's in the quarterbacks head. To me, the the head game between Perdi and Hafonga is going to be huge. But the matchup is kittled on a Fonga. And I think when you, when you make Hafonga play past coverage, when I see him either when he's forward, he wins. When he's, when he's turned sideways or turned backward, he loses. He cannot cover. You have to make him play past coverage. Their defense is designed to not have them play past coverage and to be on the line of scrimmage operator that's reading the quarterback and attacking the mesh point and just he just is so

good with his instincts. But get him off the line of scrimmage force him to play past coverage down the field. And if you can force him off the field, I mean, I would attack a Fonga in the past game, make him play past coverage. And my goal, if I would work out shenanin, you got to be ruthless sometimes. You know, you love a Fonga, you know, he's a great player and there's nothing but respect for him. Torch him, make him the conflict defender force him off the field. You know, because he's not a great, he's an awesome run player and he's a really good past player. If you, if it's timed up, like if you blitz and then he's rallying underneath, he'll jump that route. He'll pick off that pass. He picked off two last week. He's a difference maker. But if you can make him turn and cover flip his hips and have to cover down the field, he's just a guy. He's a jag as they say, just a guy, make him play past coverage and torch him. Do not allow him to

dominate at the line of scrimmage all afternoon. Somehow they got to figure out a way to make him play coverage. Yeah, they have to. The leading blitzer on their secondary is Toledo, Ohofunga, with nine rushes this season. So right now they use him exclusively as kind of like a dime linebacker to help out and activate and get him going. One thing that I will say, man, Larry, we have to get the run game going because the play action, the wheel routes, all of the screens, it's all there for this defense. They oversuit, they're very aggressive. We just talked about Riley Moss. I mean, listen, I got this from Kyle Posey on our last show this week about Riley Moss and what he did at Iowa. And dude, he's a very aggressive player. Yeah, you know, that's his calling card and we can use that against him. So, you know, look, I'll tell you this, we're playing the aggressive team who is going to be forced to take advantage of one of our weaknesses

that is not one of theirs. They're not a strong running team, but they have to do it. We're they're for what we our defense says you have to run on us. So it's going to be interesting to see how they both try to win this game. 49ers defense ranks 30 second in rushing success rate allowed. 30 second. Tommy Huxley says Morris got cooked by Bonix for touchdowns in 2024. Appreciate that one. We have this one from Ryan O'Ois. He says pick one, beat Denver, but more injuries to starters or lose to Denver, but no one gets injured. I'll take the win. I'll take the win. Yeah, I'll always take the win. Hank or Frank Tom Ocean says coach, you're the man. Love the coach and LK shows. Love you, man. Yeah, no coaches the best. We love streaming with coach. We got this one from

Camman Camman, Camman Island, Camman Island podcast, Camman Island podcast. He says, um, he says to us. Fort O minus our front office is making a big move at the D at the deadline. You think you know what Activator's getting a move at D line? The deadline is not until after week nine. It's about five and a half weeks away. I do think Khalil Mac, I do a TJ Watt. I mean, if you get a difference maker like that, I would love Brian Thomas Jr. as a receiver. I really would love to see him them get him. He's, he's an incredible talent in my opinion. Um, and we have this one as well. Thank you to too much sauce. He says coach, have you ever met or talked to Alex Boone? I would love to talk to Boone. I'd love to talk to Alex, man. I have a good offensive line, bro, without conversation. We got to do it. I love the bump into him.

Yeah, he's a great dude. He's a great dude. He, he, he and cone and ice stream twice a week now. On the, um, on the 49er collective Tuesdays and either Thursdays or Fridays. So he's, I gotta get Boone going to coach this, huh, little man? I love Boone. Dude, he's loved that attitude. He was one of my go to guys in the heart while years. Anyway, that's gonna do it for us.
