Stolen Car Chase Ends in Jail | Leicester News

A reckless 27-year-old, Joshua Dolphin, led police on a heart-pounding high-speed chase through Leicester in a stolen Alfa Romeo with fake plates, swerving dangerously, running red lights, and hitting speeds over 70 mph—until he crashed into another car, causing a serious arm injury and totaling both vehicles. Disqualified from driving and found with cannabis, Dolphin admitted to multiple charges including aggravated vehicle taking and driving without insurance. With a history of ten prior convictions—including drink-driving—he claimed he was trying to pay off a drug debt and panicked when cops appeared. Sentenced to 30 months in jail, the judge condemned his repeated disregard for public safety, calling his actions lucky not to have ended in a fatal crash.
