The search for Noah’s Ark continues in eastern Turkey, where the boat-shaped Durupınar formation near Mount Ararat remains a focus of investigation and debate. In 2026, a project led by Professor Cenker Atila of Sivas Cumhuriyet University, working with Noah’s Ark Scans, began a new phase of geological and archaeological research. Ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistivity surveys, aerial mapping, and drilling are being used to investigate what lies beneath the surface. Researchers hope to determine whether the formation contains evidence of construction or owes its appearance entirely to natural processes. No verified discovery of Noah’s Ark has been established.

Among the figures associated with this location was David Fasold, a former Merchant Marine officer and marine salvage expert. His 1988 book, The Ark of Noah, chronicled his expeditions and presented his argument that Durupınar preserved the remains of the biblical vessel. Drawing on maritime experience, biblical measurements, field observations, and objects interpreted as anchor stones, Fasold offered readers an adventurous investigation that challenged conventional views of the flood story. His conclusions, however, changed as the investigation progressed. In 1996, Fasold coauthored a scientific paper with geologist Lorence Collins identifying the formation as a natural geological structure rather than a ship. Features previously interpreted as building materials received geological explanations.Today’s search returns to the questions that animated Fasold’s book: Can an ancient flood tradition be connected to physical evidence? What would constitute convincing proof? His work remains part of the search’s history, illustrating both the excitement of exploration and the necessity of testing extraordinary claims carefully.

We're back at 740 this morning on in depth today at a search for Noah's Ark.

Yeah, one of the bible's most compelling stories, of course. Well, now some American researchers claim they have found what they believe is evidence of the Ark buried in a remote part of Turkey. Well, it looks arch-shaped, doesn't it? NBC's Kier Sima's is made his way there for us with the shovel. Take care. Good morning. Hey, Zavada. Good morning to you. It's a story we're told from childhood, isn't it? And take another look at that shape on the mountain there. A group of American Christians believe they have new evidence that that is the wreckage of Noah's Ark here in these mountains. And then look at this majestic live shot. That in the distance there is Mount Ararat. What that tells us is we're in the right place. You imagine these mountains millennia ago submerged by floods. And in this beautiful biblical landscape named in the Old Testament, the shape of a ship. The book of Genesis says Noah landed here in the mountains of Ararat.

So could this really be Noah's Ark? You research, shared with today hints at that extraordinary conclusion. Believers have been drawn to this site in Turkey close to the Iranian border since it mysteriously emerged after an earthquake in the 1940s. And you're here. Christian researcher Andrew Jones from California says the dimensions match. In chapter 6 of Genesis, it talks about a 300-cubit long boat. And that, if you use the Egyptian cube, is 515 feet long or about 157 meters. And that's exactly the length of this boat shape object. That's a news broadcast of information regarding the supposed discovery of Noah's Ark in Turkey. Just below Mount Ararat. And the new research team that has been involved in scanning, using scanning technology into the portion of this hill that they believe is a ship.

And this is something that has been encountered in British news, UK, daily, as well as American news by fundamentalist Christian programs. And some news programs that are waiting to hear more evidence. Hey, this is Cliff, your host of Earth Agents. And this week we have a special edition to review this supposed information on what they believe is Noah's Ark. And I'm reporting on it because I have been interested in this topic for a number of years, including almost 30 years ago when I invited one of the early explorers, early researchers to a conference in San Francisco known as the Whole Life Expo. And the individual we're speaking of is David Fassel, who was an ocean salvage specialist.

And in 1989 he wrote a book called The Ark of Noah, where he was a part of a team, including archaeologists Ron Wyatt, who is credited with discovering this form, land form that he thought was a boat. Now this is a curious fine because the original discoverer was a guy named Duru Pinar. Duru Pinar found this boat shape land form as he was flying over it in his plane. And it led to a lot of speculation, a lot of articles and books. Obviously in 1950-90, they didn't have a lot of sophisticated scanning technology. But what we're going to hear about today is the team, including David Fassel and others who began researching in person the body of what they

thought was a ship and investigating just what was laid to rest on the foothills of Mount Ararat. And this isn't Turkey. So that's our program today. I'm going to be playing excerpts from a number of people who have discussed this phenomenon, including Irving Finkel, who we've had on the program a number of times. He's a surreologist who is an expert on cuter form. He's clay tablets that are really an expression of ancient civilization thousands of years ago. And his book was called the Ark Before Noah. And we'll hear exactly what he has to say. And it's fascinating because he gets a completely different description and other information that makes you question

what's going on right now. So today's program is the path to Noah's Ark and we have a whole group of presentations on the podcast today. I mentioned earlier that there's a great deal of coverage right now. I don't know what people believe is the ruins of Noah's Ark in the hills, mountains of Turkey. And I've had an interest in this for a long, long time, including back in 1993 when I invited David Fassel to speak at the

whole I've exposed to Arisisco. And what makes David Fassel interesting is he is really the only researcher attached to the early exploration of the Smet Ararat area and an association with a Philharcologist, a guy named Ron Wyatt, who is credited with the discovery of the outline of a boat in the foothills of Mount Ararat. Now Fassel was a merchant marine officer, a salvage expert who wrote a book called the Ark of Noah. And he presented in this book his investigations of the Dura Pinar site. And he had a background in research, in actual recovery of different kinds of boats, and was considered an expert, expert in marine maritime salvage. Now when he was presented

with the image of, look like a formation of a ship, or out of rim of a ship, he believed it looked like a boat, but the only way you could tell was to go and actually see firsthand time and do some research, some studies, some excavations. And this is where the archaeologist Ron Wyatt comes in. And what Wyatt had found was an image taken by a pilot in 1959 of a land form that had the shape of a boat, oval, a front and rear portion, what looked like sightings. And it's formidable, if it was a ship, it was formidable, it was huge. Now the formation came to international attention after a Turkish officer, Ehan Dura Pinar identified a aerial survey

photograph in 1959 as it looked like a boat. That's all did not discover the vessel, or what is thought to have been a vessel. And what makes this unique is that the biblical accounts of the Ark coming to rest in the mountains of Erat is what triggered the research. And this is what's going on right now. There are a number of groups, most notably Noah's Ark scans, who have made new headway into discovering what this could be. Now I mentioned David Fasswell because he really is the one who everyone is keen on. And you can see a picture of David on my Facebook page, Cliff Dunning, or you can go to Earth Hints' group or public's page and see not only him staying next to

what he believes as an anchor, but also a very early drawing that he made when he first approached and was studying this land form. Now why are the fundamentalists and the Christian organizations so fascinated by this? Well obviously if you read the Bible and the chapters in Genesis, it talks about Noah and his survival of the flood by taking a pair of different types of animals and other species, birds and reptiles, etc. to save them because he was told that the world would be flooded. A little bit later we're going to hear from a seriologist Irving Finkl who we've had on the show a number of times talk about some decipherments that he made years ago that actually describe someone

that you could interpret as a Noah and a massive flood and would you believe in R? So that's something to consider, but I want you to hear from David Fassel who will introduce real quickly and what his motivation was to leave the United States, travel to Turkey with Ron Wyatt and study this land form. So let's have a quick listen to an excerpt with David Fassel. For two more decades the great structure lay wounded and ignored by mankind. Then in 1977 Ron Wyatt, an amateur archaeologist from Madison, Tennessee, inspected the site with a metal detector and obtained evidence of metallic deposits within the walls. In 1984 he submitted soil samples to a laboratory for analysis and was told they contained traces of man-made alloys. During a visit to the neighboring village of Kazan he was

shown ancient anchor stones similar to those used on sea-going vessels thousands of years ago. But these were almost 6,000 feet above sea level and 2,000 miles from the nearest ocean. While Ron Wyatt was making these discoveries in Turkey David Fassel was independently pursuing his own research among ancient manuscripts. One of the things that I was always puzzled with was this document written by Borosus, the interpreter of Dallas. He was the high priest of Babylon. He wrote this document around 2.1 BC. It was in a letter actually to Antique as the first one of Alexander the Great's generals. In which he said what I believe to be the geographical location for Noah's Ark. Borosus wrote that the Ark was still in existence in his day and was visited by religious pilgrims. He also gave its measurement as being five Stadia long and two Stadia wide.

A stadium in ancient Greece was the measure of a track used for foot races and was 607 feet long. If the size of Noah's Ark was being described in terms of racetracks it would have been over 3,000 feet long and 1,200 feet wide and unlikely to mention which has caused many historians to dismiss Borosus as a myth maker. David Fassel was not so sure and began to suspect that the word Stadia might have been a mistranslation from the original manuscript. He discovered that the Greek symbol for Stadia is similar to the Egyptian symbol for Tumara which means the land of the Mure or Egypt itself. But Mure also meant a right triangle which was used in land surveying and geography. The length of its perpendicular sides was always in the ratio of 5 to 2, precisely the same as the figures given by Borosus. Fassel theorized that if the word Tumara is substituted for

the word stadium then Borosus was not giving dimensions of the Ark. He was giving coordinates for its location. And so with that in mind I concentrated on what would how you would give a geographical location on the earth during Persian times and came to a location on the chart in Turkey. The 5 to Mure would be 90 degrees and 2 to Mure would be 36 degrees so by necessity the other angle will have to be 74. We have two crossing lines about 17 miles south of Mount Erad. Now remember again the reason that Ron Wayet found Fassel and decided he would be the perfect candidate to help identify this boat shape formation is his years of experience of diving

and actually finding different types of boats. All shapes and sizes really. And that expertise would come in handy as he begins to survey what Wayet believed was an actual ship. Now there are a number of interesting points of reference in this discovery and one of them is what is known as these stone acres and they are rocks consisting of they're from regional geology they're granite and other igneous stone but they have crosses that have been carved into them and there are large holes that are cut near the top that would be used to run rope through. These are what they believe to be very old anchors. Now these are huge anchors some

of them weighing over a ton and I have a picture of Fassel standing next to one on the Facebook piece so make sure you take a look at that but listen to what Fassel has to say about these anchors and what a giveaway for a ship what are they doing hundreds of miles from the ocean on the hills of Mount Erad. A group of large stones is located adjacent to the nearby village of Kazan. At first it was assumed these were merely old tombstones but closer examination revealed many of them were actually anchor stones similar to the ones found around ancient shipwrecks along the Mediterranean coast but these were much larger than any found before one of them estimated to weigh as much as 20,000 pounds. It was difficult to imagine a ship large enough to use not just one but many stones of this size but most puzzling of all they were 2,000 miles from the nearest ocean and over

5,000 feet above sea level. Notical stones are quite different from tombstones they have a hole at one end for a rope and they have a special shape for minimizing turbulence when dragged through the water. The shape of most of them 10 of the 11 that we looked at are wide on one end and thin about 8 inches thick and maybe maybe 5 feet wide then at the other end they're only 2 feet wide and about to varying from 18 inches to 2 feet thick. Sam Windsor is a marine engineer who specializes in determining the cause of maritime accidents. He has nationally recognized as an expert in ship structures and fluid dynamics. Then there's a hole drilled to see a curve, a curved hole. I don't know how we would do it. I don't know how to drill curved holes. We only see curved holes drilled in rock one other place in the world and that's in the Mayan temples down south America or central America.

But these holes are drilled in curves through the thick end and the holes vary in diameter. It's interesting that the hole diameters correspond to the size of the stone. If the stone is a 4-ton stone I measure to 3-inch diameter hole on a 9-inch radius of curvature. When the hole diameter was 4-1,5 inches the stone I was looking at was about 10 tons and the radius of curvature of the hole was 12 inches. You can't curve a big rope as tight as you can curve a smaller rope. You must curve them to keep them from fraying on the edges. The weight of the anchor's not but performs the job. They'd be better to call them a drogestone. Of course some turkishly called M. Gemitashi, ship stone. And Heronotus describes how the Egyptians used them going down the Nile River. What it does is it keeps your stern and ires in nautical terminology. In other words,

if your vessel is being moved across the surface of the water by the wind and the action of the waves, a wave to hit the stern and turn the boat sideways. And then the next wave could hit your boat broadside and you could start to roll the boat. So you throw out these stern anchors. And as the boat being pushed forward, the surface area of the stone being trailed through the water restricts the movement of the boat so that the line is always taught. And the other thing is that the measurement given in Genesis for this vessel is 300 cubits long by 50 cubits wide and a height of 30 cubits. The modern comparison depends on which length is assigned to a cubit, but it's 21 inches per cubit. So 300 cubits would be 525 feet and so forth and so on. So it's a fairly

large vessel if it is a vessel. But there was a problem with the width of the arc. Genesis says it was 50 cubits wide, which would be about 86 feet. The actual dimension was 138 feet at the widest point measured. If the arc had been constructed as a large rectangular box, a measurement of the width would pose no problem because it would be the same all the way along. But here was a boat shaped object. Was the measurement to be taken at the widest point or was 50 cubits an average width? Was it at the water line or the upper deck? David Fassold has drawn upon his full background and proposed an intriguing solution to this puzzle. He theorized that the measurements of the arc were not dimensions of a rectangular box, but a description of its volume. The size of a house is commonly described in square feet, but that doesn't mean the house is square. Storage tanks are rated by cubic feet, but they're cylinders, not cubes. Likewise, the storage

capacity of a ship is stated in terms of the volume of water it displaces, which can be expressed as a cube or a three-dimensional rectangle. But that has nothing to do with its true shape. In the epic of Gilgamesh, the deck of the arc was described not as a rectangle, but as an area equal to the square of 120 cubits. That area was called an iku, and it is the origin of our present day word, acre. I'm going to take a short commercial break to allow our sponsors to identify themselves, and we will return shortly with my cast of characters and path-defining Noah's Ark. We'll be right back with you.

My guests today are with us to describe and discuss the possibilities of the arc of NOVA being found in the mountains of Erat, Turkey. And we're hearing from a number of experts who are describing just what the discovery is. Now I want to play a little bit of an interview by Ron Wyatt. And he is the archaeologist that is credited with finding this image and following it up and then of course hiring David Fassel for the research. He actually did a great deal of

photography and actually followed Fassel to Turkey to identify the details. So this is an interesting and interesting piece of information. I would like to talk about the story of the boat. I like to be real thorough in all this, especially since many people claim they had seen the boat on Mount Erat. And a lot of these people are honest folks I met and I'm not calling my liar. There's lots of rock formations up there that look very much like boat. So I took a head to a friend take a slide of me taking a sample of the boat. And this is where we first got our scientific evidence. It was from the samples that we took out there. Their analysis showed this to be decayed wood and then surprisingly enough that it showed a high metal content. So from that point we went into metal detectors. And on these other slides is

we progress along here. All right now this is the boat formation as photographed in 1984. I took Jim Owen, Marv Steffan's new and I think he formed a astronaut by the following 15 moon lander pilot. Very nice gentleman very. Well yeah, Christian man. Here's a man that went to the moon and he went to find the arch. That's correct. That's correct. He hasn't been as convinced as I have that this is the actual remains. If the audience will look along the side here you can see the rib timbers reflected in the outside. A metal detection equipment and our subsurface interface weight our equipment has verified that that indeed is timbers. So all of the technical electrical equipment that you took there confirmed you've met correct. Yes if say for example if we had taken the radar scanner out there and nothing would have shown up on it then you know we wouldn't

have the evidence that we have today. So now we have Ron Wyatt. We have David Fassel traveling to Turkey driving by truck. In those days there were there was no roads that were available to this area so they had to hike in to this location of the foothills of Mount Ararat and they find this formation and they are looking at it and Fassel is making his notes and by the way there's a small gallery I mentioned it before but there is an actual illustration from Fassel's book The Arc of Noah that you can see on earth ancients, group or publics page or cliff-dunning my Facebook page. If you look at the details he was convinced that it was a boat and he estimated the depth

the height the width and he made some very very stewed observations on the details and the what he believed could have been a ship. There are different accounts of how many humans and what kind of animals were aboard the arc. The book of Genesis identifies eight people including Noah, his wife and his sons and their wives. Some have said that because only eight were mentioned there couldn't possibly have been anyone else but that may be a premature conclusion considering the size of the vessel and the work required to tend animals and handle anchor stones. The Quran says that Noah took aboard all believers although few in number. In the epic of Gilgamesh, Utna Pistim loaded all his relatives, his craftsman and their children on board and even identified his boatman by name as Puzur Amuru.

It is not difficult to imagine his vessel's staff with a large and hardworking crew. We are told in Genesis that Noah was to bring on board two of every kind of animal. It didn't say whether this was every kind in the entire world or every kind that was natural to the local area or every kind that served a purpose for Noah and since it didn't specify the common assumption has been that it meant the entire world. And that has become the basis of the typical Sunday school image of the arc as a kind of floating zoo. This interpretation has led many people to reject the entire story. It's difficult to believe that creatures which existed on the other side of the planet would be able to reach the arc, walking and swimming literally halfway around the earth. Now if we come full circle into what's going on today, the investigation team under a Phil Arkeal, a Phil investigator named Andrew Jones has been publishing a great deal

of data and his take is new because he's using modern equipment including ground penetrating radar. And he is a speaking on programs like Christian Broadcasting Network and telling people that it is what he believes the arc itself. And I want to play a little bit of an interview that he gave that highlights what they discovered and what's been going around the news agency recently. So this is a quick listen to Andrew Jones and what his belief is on this discovery. Well Andrew Jones, you are with Noah's arc scans and you came on last year with me to talk about evidence for Noah's arc and you have been in the headlines though this past week quite a bit the New York Post, a number of other allot you were on Fox News I believe as well.

Talking about this issue. Now you believe that you have evidence that could back Noah's arc which obviously as Christians we believe this story is true and for a long time people have been looking for evidence of the arc and they have been you know there have been expedition after expedition. Can you talk generally from a 30,000 foot view about the evidence that you believe does back the existence of the arc and by the way you are on site right now right in front of the place where you believe some of this evidence is. Thank you for having me back on. Yes I am here in the mountains of Errat where just beside the Iranian border here in eastern Turkey and in this area many expeditions have been have gone here in the past from looking on the Big Mountain which is right over here actually the Big Mount Errat and then of course the Drupinar boat formation here that to Ron Wyatt and others investigated in the 1980s and so we're back in the news because of the evidence that the soil analysis the GPR scans being rean analyzed by professionals and

again it just brings more and more data to this site that's why we're excited to share it. So to give you the big picture well the site was first discovered for those who don't know in 1959 by a Turkish army captain he saw this boat formation he was a photographer in the army here in Turkey and they just joined NATO that year so this area was bordering the then Soviet Union and they were mapping out their territory and he discovered this boat formation about one month later it was in the news around the world the photograph was released by the Turkish military then one year later in June of 1960 an American Turkish expedition came out here they had an archaeologist they had reporters they had a business person but they also had the Turkish military and captain Drupinar came out they came back with one of the guys who was a photogrammetry expert from Ohio State University he was actually Swiss and he had worked in Turkey in the past on some of these types of surveys he really believed that after a two day quick expedition to this site that they could not

determine what it was he said you know even have enough time others thought it was just a natural formation so it died down no nothing was done here scientifically they just came and looked at it took pictures about 17 years later it was 1977 that's when Ron Wyatt and explorer from Tennessee got involved and throughout the 80s and early 90s he was in the news a lot because he was trying to do work out here and he did he did soil testing initially then he did the first radar they were using in Turkey was at the site the analog radar that printed it out on paper the results and then they did metal detector scans and they got enough interest that the Turkish government in 1987 built a visitor center which I'm standing in front of right here so that tourists could come see it and that's and then it died out again I came out here in 1997 I was in college I came out here as a tourist just to see it myself I got interested really wanting to pursue more than just taking pictures I met up with Dr. Salih Byra Kuton who's retired now a professor of geology from

Atatric University at that time and he had been studying this site even up to today because he's still around he's been studying this region and site for many decades and he really believed that this is the best possible candidate for Noah's Ark and so I asked him some of the questions about the geology and why people say it's a rock or it's a sandcline or a mud that's going around a rock and things like that and he gave me the the details about you know what's going on at the site why he thinks it's more than that and so then in 2019 with the history actually the science channel was here and with permission from the Turkish government we were out here scanning for a science channel documentary film and that's when we did the GPR at that time and we did two different types of scanning that would go at different depths that material initially the the report that was coming from that expedition showed ride angles and some parallel lines and it

was American archaeologist who was not part of our team who analyzed that and he said look if you were to do an excavation I would say do it right here because I'm seeing a series of ride angles about seven meters down or 21 feet so that was interesting but it wasn't until I reconnected with a doctor by our two-ton during the pandemic I think it was 2021 or 22 I met with him again after my initial meeting 20 some years ago and I told him hey we have this data but I'd like a third party to look at it so we gave this raw data to an American geophysicist she had 30 years experience and our own company doing these types of scans and so we just she had nothing to do with Noah's Ark we asked her and she said she would do it for free so okay so we sent her the gigabytes and gigabytes of data and within six months she had analyzed it and this is what's in the news right now because she had come back and she told us to look I am finding she asked if we had dug a tunnel down the site so no it's on the mountain side there's no utility line or but she said look about four meters down there is a tunnel a series of voids that connects

that goes from the pointed top in all the way to a little past with the there's a big boulder in the middle and she said this following the center line of the boat formation and then she saw a broken up one on the inside edge of this boat parameter and so she said these are you know voids this is something that hasn't filled in yet and so she thought that was very interesting and then at the center of this boat formation she found a almost square shape I call it central atrium but this center void that goes down almost 40 feet 13 meters below the surface and that's actually where our data bottoms out and so we have this tunnel leading to a central cavity and then we're having right below that this is something we haven't even released yet right below where this the central hallway or corridor is this tunnel you're seeing these very faint uh series of parallel lines or right angles as if they're support beams for the floor you can say if this was a natural object I mean a manmade object you know you something that's not this random

you're seeing this whole thing and it's going down and depth so it's not a shallow feature and so we've had um uh you know we have plans with uh hopefully with the Turkish University we're waiting um on them uh that they could go out here and do some of the things we'd like them to do for the future we're gonna take a short commercial break to allow our sponsors to identify themselves and we'll return shortly with my cast of characters and finding Noah's Ark we'll be right back with you

bioma dot health slash glp one code cr show for 15% off we're reviewing some of the reported studies of research in turkey and the amount error area of what is thought to be through a maze of Noah's Ark and we're getting clarity on that from a number of different experts on the program today now i mentioned David Faswell who i had personal contact with and the the the long and the short of it is that he was hesitant to make any claims at all until more research could be done like course samples and things like that they didn't have course samples back then in fact he did run into what he believed was petrified wood which would really give away the fact that that could be

an actual ship of some kind but this leads to one of my favorite people which is Irving Finkle who we've had on the show many many times who is a a a seriologist who studies cuneiformis and we do now have evidence that we'll hear about shortly on a person known as Noah and a huge global wide flood that the Assyrians actually recorded on cuneiformis clay tablets now Finkle's quite descriptive in his account but what is fascinating and we actually had him on the program about four years three or four years ago describing the ships that were built during this time period and what kind of gives away the evidence of this arc is that

what we see in turkey has a bow and a stern that are pointed that are that are also rounded and in the descriptions that Finkle describes he has specific dimensions of a square ship but also a round ship that was used so both of his descriptions kind of uh cast out that this errat vessel is an actual Noah's arc and I want to play a little bit of Finkle's description of this craft that is reported on one of these cuneiformis which is just amazing and by the way the cuneiformis is about 4,000 years old and they are in such great

quantities that they are used to describe daily activities and Babylon and in sumer and in other parts of the Middle East and this really shows as a sophisticated society that which is chronicling their daily activities I mean it's just fascinating so let's listen to Irving Finkle talk a little bit about his interpretation and decipherment of a cuneiform that really gives up the great deal of detail so one of the things that happens if you are a curator in the British Museum is because the public have the mistaken idea that we are experts is to identify things which people bring in and they always make a lot of fuss about how interested they are when you tell them this middle bronze age or late iron age or something and this sort of technical side because what they really want to know is how much they're worth

and we are forbidden by the trustees from ever referring to this matter so we are experienced in dealing with all sorts of drama and it happened to me once when I was on duty that a person called Douglas Simmons came in in about 1985 with a bag full of antiquities small antiquities which he poured onto the desk and I was the duty officer and it contains some coins at a couple of lamps a bit of Chinese stuff a couple of shabties and a cuneiform tablet well it might not surprise you should know that I picked up the cuneiform tablet first and and I picked it up and as at first sight I assumed it was going to be an old Babylonian letter I'm sure you would have the same conclusion in terms of the size, shape, dimension, grammatical forms, semantic parallels and so forth but I lifted it up and started to read it and this is what came out not going to read the whole of this book out I should tell you if you want to read it yourself

this is usually arranged it's very initially arranged afterwards wall wall read wall read wall atra hussees pay heed to my advice that you may live forever destroy your house build a boat, spurn property and save life well not many letters begin that way and in point of fact I was able to read it at sight because I had a very demanding teacher who used to hit people and and trashed them with barbed wire until they learned their signs and so recognizing the beginning of the flood story in the Babylonian epic was a doddle for someone who graduated from that classroom so I realized I had in my hands a piece of the old Babylonian version of the flood story which is a piece of gold in the world because everyone is interested in the flood story and nobody ever gets their hands on an unpublished piece which had never been seen by any other a series of other pieces so I was rather excited about it

and what happened was he took it away picked up the lamp and said and what about this and when I'd gone through the rest of the material trembling with excitement and thinking can I borrow this for a while and read it he went and I didn't see him for the best part of the decade so I knew that this thing was in circulation and this was before the trustees of the British Museum had produced this handbook about how to knock people to the floor and take over their property for the trustees so I just let him escape but I knew that sooner or later it would come back to the British Museum because all important things do some of them for example are temporarily in the Louvre but sooner or later they will hunt at us so the thing is when I finally got this thing into my control I had let the luxury to say of reading it properly in privacy with a good light and and so forth to get the guts of it out and it became apparent that the thing was of 60 lines in length and although the

beginning was exactly the same as it tested in the other sporadic examples the rest of it was very startling now knowledge of the flood itself as on Cuneiform tablets has been in the public domain since 1872 when George Smith the character on the left for the first time was a modern human being who read a piece of this dog biscuit kind of material from his barbaric background and discovered that he was reading holy writ virtually in this peculiar format and the story goes in our department records I'm sure it's true that he dropped the tablet on the table in his anxiety and started to run around the room holding his head and making funny squeaking noises and eventually attempting to remove his clothing and this has gone down in history as a laughable matter but it's almost certain that what actually happened was he had an epileptic fit because the impact of discovering for the first

time that the text loggenesis which everybody in 19th century London knew by heart existed in this peculiar arrival form so George Smith in 1872 discovered this for the first time there was a huge furore about it all sorts of discussion by all sorts of people I'd just like to draw your attention to the image of Smith on your left he has the broad intelligent forehead leadership kind of profile fine beard lucid intelligent eyes and so forth there's always been this range of characteristics that the trustees have looked for in their a serological in boys so the thing is that when Smith published this he wrote very loosely about it in its implications for the biblical story because it contained not only the approximate parallel but a much more specific one for example the fact that when the flood was debated and things were quiet a series

of three birds was released and the only the third one came back I mean didn't come back so he knew that something had appeared above dry land which is of course what Noah did in the more popular version of the story as theory rated in Hollywood and the really good one which you have to read in the original in Babylonian so and one of the interesting things about the version which he discovered that 1872 tablet it came from the library of ashrabani pal in the seventh century BC it was one of the king's own personal copies of his standard literature and although they didn't know that securely at the time and when Smith made his very quick and very accurate translation it included a description of what the arc that this but napish in the equivalent of Noah in his version of the story had built and the description comes out as a cube that's to say an object which is the same height width and length in all dimensions so the clergyman who were extremely worried about

the way that the Bible had been undermined and what this might mean for the end of civilization and came back in four saying well this is rubbish this isn't nothing like the arc in the Bible I mean it's a cube I mean who had a boat that was a cube it was mad anyway and they would have to say notice the best and so they were impelled and felt encouraged to dismiss evidence which was unwelcome to me now if you read thinkles book on the the Noah's art actually it's called the arc before Noah he translates a number of uniforms and he does have these circular and square ships and so this is what upset the Christian representatives because in the Bible it's actually ship shape it's you know pointed at the front pointed at the back and so that was the problem and that's what thinkles talking about is that he ran into problems with the church

given that information given what we know the formation in turkey is not Noah's arc it's not a ship and fasthold research actually shows that it is a boat shaped rock formation and you won't hear this from the Christian broadcast network for another few weeks because they want to keep it going and it always kind of keep the faith you know wonderful to hear about the potential of this being Noah's arc and you know if you're someone of faith it's kind of nice to hear as a consideration but the science proves it's not Noah's ship is not a ship at all it's a it's a rock formation in the shape of a ship which is funny because if you look at fastholds drawing and I should recommend looking at

his drawing he goes above and beyond the potential the potentiality of this formation to be a actual boat and speculates in his book the arc of Noah that the time period is elapsed to the point where wooden beams would have petrified turn the stone and the ribs and the planks and the various top deck surface features would have been it would have turned to rock and so they didn't had the technology back then to determine that they do now and you won't you won't hear the hosts admitting this quite yet because people are donating money to this project

I don't know how to categorize that I'm not a person of religious faith so I tend not to buy into that but there you go that's the that's the final evaluation is that this formation is not the actual ship of Noah but it's fun to hear Irving Finkel describe the kind of boats that were in use during those time and that there was a person called Noah and by the way you can see a photograph that was created by Irving Finkel that actually shows the ship that's described in his uniform tablet and it's square and it's long and it's huge so be sure to check that out when you get a chance all right it's been a pleasure as always I wanted you guys to have a heads up on this special edition and as you read the UK journal if you watch tv if you hear

anything more about the sightings and the proposition that this could be Noah's Ark now you know hey it's Ryan C. I've been talking now for over a year about an amazing bourbon whiskey called Chattanooga whiskey made in Chattanooga Tennessee and it is so smooth and so flavorful and I recently discovered they were awarded the craft producer of the year for the last four years by whiskey magazine and this is a phenomenon because there are so many whiskeys if you go to the liquor store if you go to places like Bevmall or Total Wine on More where which are where sharp places that I go to that's really an accomplishment because there's so many whiskeys to select from my favorite is the Chattanooga 91 and it is flavorful it has kind of a roasted honey malt flavor and it is made from Tennessee grown corn custom aged in charred oak barrels and one of the aging is done

do we all need to be detoxing ourselves? before I go asking how can I detox I have to look inward okay what am I doing? can I identify at least three ways that my body detoxes and ways to support that? I promise if my message was more dramatic like that I would have millions of dollars and and make millions of dollars but I cannot sleep at night trying to sell someone something that their body already does naturally. we're living in a crazy world now I think it's a lot of people fear a lack of control and as a result of this this is the way of them trying to make sense of the world and try to take control over their own bodies so by actively doing something I'm going to detoxify things therefore I'm going to feel better I think is absolutely one of the reasons that detoxifying has become so popular. listen to the full episode of health versus hype with the American Medical Association on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
