On YouTube, Rory and I gave all our thoughts on the whistle on Tuesday night, but we now know our opponents in the next round. And they are Fleetwood Town of League 2. So, I'm draw Shay. I'm probably the toughest fixture we could have got. But we've got a strong side. And I think we'll be OK. I would hope so. I would hope it would be OK.

Did you both immediately start worrying about League 2 cloggers? Is someone doing an ACL? Is that right? I did. But then again, there's pictures down there and League 2 are actually very good as well. Well, I was worried about going there in Middleton and thinking about, yeah, maybe I'll pick a pick and I'll be injury, but I think we'll be all right. I think we'll be all right. It's a home from homes. Yeah, it's high. Exactly. Yeah, we're presumably not played there since we moved to the Emirates stadium. So that's something, isn't it? Ever. Yeah, there you go. That's great stuff. So my girlfriend always worries about stuff happening and when that draw came through, she's like, oh, God, I just think of that. Mackelsfield game against Crystal Palace. It's like this is the best draw. This is really the best draw we could possibly have got. So, yeah, we go back to Highbury. Now, we mentioned Mickey and Marino wearing the arm band on Tuesday night. He was absolutely over the moon about that. He said, I know it's just a caribou cup game. Love that he's doing the competition down like that. But to me, it is happiness. And he also explained the celebration he did where he basically learned the sign language

for I love Arsenal. And he did that over the badge. It's a missed opportunity from the people that taught in the sign language to mug him off. But he's really wholesome as well. That was really nice, man. I think Marino's got the best celebration catalog in football. He's got quite a few. And to add that, that's like the cherry on top of the K-coffling. Yeah, the one where he goes around the corner flag. Cause his dad used to do that. So, the next thing is that's great stuff. Yeah, it's a good thing, man. I mean, yeah, in terms of Marino, I really love him. We were talking just before the show, weren't we, Jim, about just him as a character. Everything he does is so considered. Even the way he plays football, you might sometimes take too many touches, but he's always thinking and he's always carefully wanting to pick the right thing to do. And even like this, this, the celebrations and everything else, he's just a really nice guy. I got to say it. And even after Arta did say, he said, look, he's one of the most intelligent players I've ever worked with. And he cares. He cares massively. And that does really come across, I think, with Marino. Massively.

I'm really impressed with his versatility and how like, I remember in the summer, everyone was sort of looking through the midfield options when we saw Bruno Gameraysh. And now we're sort of looking at Marsler Viscalean in as a midfielder. And sometimes people were leaving him off the graphics and people together because it was an awkward number of them. They couldn't fit him in. It's just one the world cup. It's so humble that like, you sort of, I don't know, he gets forgotten about a little bit. But I think maybe that's to our advantage, because he is really versatile. I think for him to be underestimated is probably a good thing for us. I really enjoyed him and Bruno together, actually, because they're both players, I think, you can slot in really all three of those midfield positions. Perhaps you wouldn't necessarily always have Marino as the kind of, the kind of deepest lying kind of midfield hub. But we've seen him play it before. We've seen him play well. Like, that's a really good midfield. And it's nowhere near the first choice. He's not a midfield option to me. I mean, if we have to play Marino there, we will. But I'd really like him as a striker. Yeah, man. I really, really like him. His finishing is top. Like every time he gets a chance, his conversion is quite high.

He really puts his foot free to ball as well. I like him out there, man. Yeah. It's like he's such a sensible man. He sees it as just like tidying up. Ball goes in there. Come on. Come on kids. That finish. Just let go of the floor. Just boring that now. Yeah, I wait 100%. You mentioned it. We've roaring on the match reaction. That finish was delectable. It really was. And it was, and it's that finishing, it all comes down to, I suppose I was IQ and I'll tell you what I was also talking about, his late arrival in the box and just knowing where to be and picking the right pass, picking the right finish. Very, very important quag to have in this massive championship winning squad. Massively. So I'm glad he's getting his flowers early. Max Dermann obviously is going to get some flowers. But we'll come onto him in the second half. Let's look straight ahead to Brighton, the Arsenal Saturday at 3pm. 3pm kickoff. We've got a post-max to do. How are we going to do that? My plan is I will go to France and watch it legally.

Oh. Because there's no other option. Probably it's a Bulgaria to watch it legally as well. Exactly. Back for free for 5pm. We do not approve of legally streaming things here. I'll listen to your radio. I think I'll do that. Nice. So Brighton beat Manchester United 3 to an old traffic on Wednesday night. Oh, yeah. That started early, hasn't it? Little reminder that they're doing all on nothing this season. Why? That's going to be box office watching, isn't it? Jim, I think Jeff Bezos is going to build a space ship to go to Pluto off the back of the process. He's talking to me. It is already a month in the moments already losing hold to hold 2.0 first game in the season. Look, I'll be honest. That is going to be box office, that box. So yeah, last night is incredible. But it's high, it highlights how good, because that was Brighton's further 11. Really, it was further 11, second 11. They are a good team. Yes. They are a really good team. I think they're going to be real threat, aren't they?

So this is the last game before the international break as well. It's the sort of result that can have a really long lasting impact on the mentality of a squad and how you're viewed by others as well. So it'd be really good to get a win here before we go after the three week international break and get at least 10 injuries. That seems to happen every single time. But the thing I've been really impressed by with Brighton is just how clinical they've been. Now they beat Coventry 5-0 and okay, it's Coventry who was struggling a bit. They went down to 10 men, they gave away a silly penalty, Brighton would tune or what, when they went down to 10 men. But they buried those chances and they did the same against Villa as well. And I think that I wonder if we might see the grind set come back in this game. We've been a bit more expansive this season so far. But I don't know about you two, but I think Brighton away might have been one of the worst experiences of a game we've won. I've ever watched last season. That was tough. That was really tough. I watched that back and at the end of the game, the news felt was through.

That city had job points. And I just got goose bumps all over again. But I remember that game ageing me for like two, three years. It was too much. It was, it was, yeah, like you say, the relief. That was one of those moments on the run in where you were like, oh, thank God, honestly. But it drew, it drew me. I remember sitting in my living room and I remember to walk back up the back end of the season, my hands and palms and my feet were even getting sweaty watching Arsenal. I was so nervous. And that was something up that game to be feared. That was definitely the most nerve wrecking. Fabian Hertzlet said after the game, there was only one team trying to play and that Arsenal were doing their own rules. Now he actually apologized for that later, didn't he? And I quite like that because he's so young that he just loses his head a little bit sometimes. I think it's very human. We would all do that. I don't expect it. I think if you're going to say something, you back it. Even if you know you're wrong, Dan Donnelly. Maybe he's too young to be this sensible. But yeah, I think that was my experience of it as well, isn't it? It was really, really horrible.

And I mean, what do you expect from us in this game? Do you think it would be similar? Will we respect them a lot? Or will we a bit more? Do we trust ourselves as the protagonist a bit more now? If I'm honest, this everything that we, the way they set up is everything we've struggled with the mid-block. They're not going to be so far in their games. They've actually pressed quite high, but they're not going to probably do that against us. And like you were saying in terms of them taking their chances, they, they've won games through bits and bursts of just like being really clinical in those moments. So they're always a danger. So it is always worrying about that counter. They'll sit and wait and wait and wait. They're not going to be as, you know, as aggressive against us. And we've got to be careful in terms of they do attack well down the flanks and they take their chances. So at any point, we could go behind. Well, I feel like we've decked and rested and he's not playing in the week. And him having that can't be in that someone who can, who can't, or very well, I feel like we will be able to contain them. And I feel like there'll be less anxiety.

Like there was a lot of anxiety in that game when we played them at the Mx last year. There isn't as much of that this season. We're a little bit more relaxed to going into these games and we're a little bit more expected. And it's only five games in, right? So that's just to complete the change. It's a mindset, doesn't it? Yeah, I think Pascal Gross is someone to be wary of as always, brilliant player, really, really good. So I think it's really interesting to kind of look at the season as it's shaping up. And I think this is a sort of fixture that really demonstrates how tough the Premier League is when you look at how good Brighton have been and how seriously you have to take them as a threat. Like this, I mean, this might be a season where you need 90 plus points. We just don't know yet. But actually with Man City getting that bit of luck going their way with the VR situation the other week, I thought like, this reminded me of Arthetta like turning the heat up in the dressing room and sort of doing all these silly things to keep the team on their toes, not silly things, very artetterary things to keep the team on their toes. This is exactly the type of setback he's talking about, right? Isn't it? Because it's tempting to look at that and go, oh, that's really annoying.

They've got two points that they probably shouldn't have had. But these things happen sometimes. And I think this is the sort of game where you look at the, look at the potential season and go, yeah, I mean, you've got to get as many points on the board as possible. Just go and attack this, go and be dominant and kind of send a message to the rest of the league before the international break. Yeah, we can play, we can play all kinds of football. I don't think we ever have to change the way we play depending on who we are playing. I think we've just got every way of playing. So if we want to get really physical like Sunderland did, we've got some very big men on the pitch that can be equally as physical, if not more physical. We played a mid-ish block against Villa. That was a tough game away at Villa Park. We came through that in flying colours almost. I think we did really well. We just got to be a bit more clinical because Brighton have been very clinical. And we have, I think, been a little bit wasteful. We were creating a lot of chances, which helps, but we need to just be a bit more clinical.

I think if we want to have an easier Saturday, then I think it's going to be a tough Saturday. If we want an easy Saturday, let's be super capable. Are you worried about that at all? Because I feel like pretty much most games we've had this season, there's been a chance that's fallen onto someone where it's like, that should have been a goal. Like, more often than not, that should be a goal. I wonder if there's some sort of extra focus that can be put on finishing in training, I'm sure. It's like, it does show like every single year. And they're always banging it in, right? Vixi Yoko res looks like Erling Harlan in those videos. It's incredible. But yeah, I do think, I hope this is something we're looking at, because these games are where that's really, really going to make a difference. Yeah, I mean, I've been saying for a long while, I don't mind the mischances because we are creating them. And we had a problem of chance creation, a lot of last season, but the fact that we have so many chances at the moment, it will come. And I feel as though we've anxiety, we've less anxiety in the game, the players know that. It's our kind of miss one, we're going to get it. And as the season goes on and progress is,

the players will naturally get a lot more sharp. And I was also thinking, you know, it's actually quite a good time. And even though they're in form, they're missing their two, they're missing their two wingers, Minte and Mitoma. They're doing, they've had to move the Creper forward further forward. They could be, they're going to get a lot better, Brian. So playing Avinist Away game now, and also I think there's something, there's something tied to the fact that is a, hurtsel is a hair transplant, not even bedded in yet. So that I think that's going to get, they'll get better when he's in here. When his air comes in, they're going to give you even more confident. Yeah. But I feel like there's, there's definitely a, the case of we were getting them still a good time because we've been time-rementing back in this team and away gross is playing. They're going to be a real force. I think the season, the surprise falls. Yeah, absolutely. And I mean, you tip them to challenge for the Champions League spots on, on Monday this season. On my ridiculous day. But yeah, but you're right. But those two, they've started so well and they're still missing two massively important players, and they've scored 16 goals across five domestic games this season. So they are a real challenge. The thing that makes me very excited about this game, though, as a viewer,

is that we're surely going to see Declan Rice, Bruno Gimmer, Richard Martin, Oedogard all starting to be filled for the first time, right? Just makes you want to make noises, isn't it? Yeah, you're making noises. Oh, man, that is going to be beautiful. Yeah, so watch. And it's a challenge for them as well, right? Yeah. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a big, difficult away game, but I just, that is an exceptional midfield. I'm salivating, even thinking about it. Mm, best in the world, baby. They've got a real opportunity to show that they see. Yeah, I think so. I'd like to not pierce the off that part. She would be nice. We've got to prove it. We've got to go and, we've got to see him a lot together. We didn't get to see a lot of our best players on the same field last season. So just please, please, they fit. And but when you look at all that midfield, all the tools that expose with that midfield is... Yeah. It's frightening. Is the only word for it, I think, and I, and it'll be great. And hopefully, I think we will see that in Saturday. I can't see why we wouldn't. Yeah. I mean, who do you think starts the base of midfield there? Would be Rice or Gimmer Rice?

Because I like the fact that that's really hard to call. Because they're both so good. My preference is Rice, you know? Yeah, same. Yeah. I like Bruno G's ability to pass. Mm-hmm. I like his passing a bit better than Rice. If Rice can pass, but I like Bruno G's. Yeah, and he's, yeah. And he's, he started a lot of this season, literally. As a centre-back split, he comes and gets the ball from Raya and starts his de-attack. Because I've read something about him preferring to get the ball not with his back to play, and with the whole pitch in front of him and the RTA has realised that. And then he can pass it into the Lats of Bruno G, who maybe are a little bit more incisive in possession. So I can see that being the sort of the pattern of how the midfield plays out on Saturday. I love how quickly he passes the ball. Yeah. Just slaps that ball around like he's bullying it. Yeah. Yeah. I think this experience isn't over for you yet. It's amazing stuff. I'm really excited. So the good thing about Tuesday is that Michael Aoteca made nine changes. We were particularly worried about Julian Timber. He didn't even travel with the squad, but Michael Aoteca confirmed that he was resting. And we also suggested that in Bruno, he might have finally found someone

who we trust to replace Declan Rice. And I think that's another exciting option here as well. Because we have to rest of them at some point, right? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm not suggesting that happens this weekend, but Bruno just feels with so much joy at the moment of thinking, oh, great. I'm excited about one of our best players not playing. That's our versatile Bruno is in my mind. I think it feeds back into this thing about us being less anxious and not being everything being all or nothing, pardon the man United documentary pun. But I do feel like now we can take those. He's taking a chance. When you do come back, he's one of our best players. And he does so much in terms of fight in the transition. But now we can say, all right, well, there's options there and we're not scared to. I think last season, if we dropped Declan Rice, I think the team would be like, oh, we're going to be able to get through this. There's less of that now. I think there's a lot more confidence in just our innate ability to get through games with the tools that are disposable and whatever day it is. The technical level is just so encouraging, isn't it? Just so so encouraging. Oh, he's the dream of days like this.

So if we win this game, it will match our longest winning start to a season, which was set back in the 1903-04 season when we were in the second division. That run included eight Neil Winds against Burton United and Lester Fosser, whoever they are. And a four-neil win against Manchester United. So it always good. I'm still filled with sort of glow about that. Did you say 1903-04? 1903-04. Oh, I'm happened 2003. Exactly. These are all good omens if you really want to squint. I've been saying it really quietly. I won't say what I've been thinking out loud, but I've been saying things. I've been thinking. We all know what you're thinking. You imagine how much everyone else would hate it if we did that again. I think it's the perfect season. There's chaos in front of us. There's chaos behind us. Left and right. Chaos all around us. And we just go. You said it, Shane. Why don't dream? Why don't dream? That's what it's all about. Fans might take the piss out of us for thinking it, but they're doing it anyway.

They're taking the piss out of everything. They're taking the make anyways, man. That's a joy, I think. Secretly are certain. I might be thinking it, but I remember before that just not to spend too much time on it, but I remember Venga's, you know, in 0203, before the season started, he said before we could go on being. Yeah, he did. And then it happened this season later. So, people, do you remember people were calling him comical venga? Yeah. Because that chemical alley bloke who said, I forget what the details of it were, but he's, it was something like, there was no US presence in Iraq or something like that while there were literally tanks in the background. And he was known as chemical alley. He became called comical alley. And then they were calling him comical venga. And he's like, that's a good nickname. That's a good nickname. And it's just been blasted. Lost it. It's been a bit of a way for one of a better term. So, Kai Havards was caught putting catch up on a plate of spaghetti on Ricardo Califurri's Instagram story this week. Can we fit about that? It's like a barbecue base on a pizza. Yeah, I'm glad you said that. I don't mind the barbecue base. What?

I'm more right with it. Really? Yes. Half an hour. Half okay. Yeah. Cause it gets a bit. Half an hour. How about pizza? How about pizza? That's not okay. You got to be very hungover. But a whole Texas barbecue, honestly, could give you diabetes. Yes. But, but yeah, half and half, I can get where you're coming from. I've been, I'm honest. I am very hungover in the situation. I've had a lot of exclusive time for that. It is self. It would have offended Califurri and most Italians, I'm sure. He's still there, right? If that's what's getting the format of Havverts and who am I to knock it? And by the way, Havverts actually has been admitted. He's been picked for Germany, but he's only going to play two games. He's only playing the two. Yes. So, club in Arte Arte, thank you very, very much. We picked for the four Germany and playing four games as our all the international teams in Havverts. He's actually only going to have to play two. So, you can spend some time with his donkeys? Potentially. In the loads of animals back in Germany, hasn't he? So, maybe it's not the end. I never even knew that. Yeah, he's got like a donkey sanctuary. Oh wow. There's a mad interview with him where an interviewer asked him what his favourite animal

is of his pets. Yeah. And he says, completely straight face that he doesn't want to say in case it gets back to them. And like, he's got a really dry sense of humour or he's really weird. He said, I can't tell. There was a phase where he was referred to as a dog. Yeah, yeah. Actually, you're not doing that now, aren't you? Not anymore though. Yeah, they're not doing it now. Yes. So, I just want to take it back to the catch-up thing. Where do you stand on it? For me, there's no need. There's already a tomato presence in the dish, right? This, yeah. It's really childish. If I'm with money, so I think it's a bit childish. Yeah. I'm not going to knock your, whatever your taste is, cry about. Not for me. It's a bit, if I'm with you, it's a bit ghetto. No, no, no. A lot of my friends. A lot of my friends. I've got a lot of friends that put catch-up on everything. And yeah, I do frown upon it. Yeah, maybe, maybe grow up, cry. What about a big dollop of barbecue sauce? Oh, no. Yes. Yes. With that. I'm lactose intolerance. I'd rather have catch-up than cheese, or mine.

Right. Let's be getting bollinase. Really? Yeah. I guess that. Do you know what? I'm just in Spag Bowl, a little dollop of catch-up in the Ragu, in the Bollinase, actually can work. It is, it can. Just tiny bit, right? Right. But spraying it all across a plate of pastries is outrageous behaviour, I think. I just love that Ricardo Calafuri hasn't been able to resist. Filming. Like, there are probably italians just in the area going, something is I don't know. Like, just so on it. And fair enough. So coming up after this, we will talk about Victor Yocarez, Max Downman, and there's been yet another refereeing panel. Guessing is for game shows. Not your business. Again, I think it's unlikely that we're going to see him start against Brighton in this game. We discussed this performance against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.

There have been comments on a discord since including this from Kizola. Yokerez was a desperation buy and I think our tetanose. Grateful for everything he contributed last season though. No way we'll win the league without him. The only solution I can think of is he needs to get married and have a kid. It's the Ar tetter way. Is this this Santa, Kizola? Yeah, let's assume so. Let's assume so. He's an Ar tetanose. Yeah. Brilliant. What did you make of Yokerez the other night, Shane? I just feel like there is some truth to Santa, Kizola's statement there. I think Ar tetter is grateful for his contribution last season. But I think he knows that we play better without him. And I agree. I think we play a lot better with how that's up top. And I wasn't proven otherwise by his performance on Tuesday against Ipswich. There was a pass that he did. Did the one that went out for a goal kick? Yeah. Yeah. It feels a bit like, you know what a tennis player gets to their own head. He looks like he's battling himself with him at the moment.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm always at the moment I have probably in my private life, you know, back at Yokerez because in terms of amongst my friends and saying, look, I don't know what we've done here. But there's two things I think. Firstly, I think he looked a bit disillusioned. I think there is some rumors about him maybe being used as a make weight in the summer. And he was maybe, maybe made aware that we are to want it to move him on as part of the algorithm. I think that's got to him. And I think that was probably why I didn't get any minutes in the first two games whilst the transfer window was open. But also he doesn't help himself. And I don't know whether this is to do with him being a little bit perturbed by everything or just not having the ability to do it. Creating separation. I noticed and I watched that game once again on player coming because I'm thinking we're going to need you. So I want the best out of him. When the ball goes out wide, he spends so much time wrestling and not creating separation and finding space. And it's the intelligence movement. We watched, you know, Marino and Damon. And it's not just their, their ability on the ball.

It's the positions they take up. And I find you look at Yokerez sometimes and he is struggling to find space or just to make himself useful or be a useful cog in our team. And there's something he's got to work with. I don't know whether that is because he's lacking confidence or whether this is just a flaw in his game. But that is a problem for me. Is that he just not finding the space. He's not getting shots. He's not great. We were talking about charge creation. Well, I don't think it's a bad thing if you're missing chances because you're in a space or position. Your movement's, you know, generated that chance. He's not generating any chances in a team that is so dominant. He's a fantastic finisher as well. You know this. That's what the headache is. Absolutely. It really does feel like, doesn't it, that if he can just get into those positions a bit more, then it will, it will pay off. It's a really interesting one to me because it feels like exactly the same conversations we were having at the start of last season. They've gone away a little bit towards the end of the season because I think his hold up game had got better

and his all-round player got better. It does seem to have reverted a bit. And I do wonder if it is exactly what you were talking about there, Johnny, that feeling that he maybe feels like his day's a number because Arteta doesn't kind of fancy him in an ideal world. Now, I would disagree slightly with the Santa Yikazewala confirmed that Discord user, that he was a desperation by, I think, if we think back to the window, the noises coming out of Arsenal seem to suggest that Arteta really wanted Benjamin Chesco, Andrea Bertha identified Victor Yokores as the win now option, which is how it turned out. But also, that doesn't really tell the full story, does it? Because that did prove to be correct, but also in a way that's not really convincing in the long term. And I don't know if you remember from the summer, there were a couple of rumors if you really had your ear to the... Which we didn't reach. It's great, fine. Yeah, that we were interested in Julian Alvarez, you know, and the fellow players of Arteta Gammadrid. So... I would imagine that, as you say, that's kind of ruffled him a bit. Yeah, I mean, it's a problem that needs fixing, isn't it? Because, as you say, Johnny, we need him.

We're quite light in that position, unless you consider Micka Romerino as a striker, which you obviously should, because you can turn that six upside down and become a nine. I love that, you know. Yeah, he... Yeah, I feel for him. I don't like seeing any of our players in a team this good, kind of looking a little bit downbeat, you know? Yeah, it's hard as well, because Gabriel J. Zeus scored a brilliant goal for Barcelona last night, running in behind, looking at our nine, you're thinking, oh my God, we're sold him for the price of a mill deal. And he's doing really great. Yeah, it's... Look, he's here. And he's going to be here, and I cannot imagine we're going to get rid of him in January. So we need to get... Start getting the best out of him, because, you know, even if it's just care about Cup games and your game against Lesnar, and really lowly opposition in the Premier League, you need to start firing and scoring goals. Because at any number nine, especially him, in the way he plays, he lives by goals. So we just need... You need a goal. I do wonder if Bruno Gimmarish might be key to that. I mean, I know they started together the other night, and it wasn't necessarily a great example of the theory of those two, kind of having a connection,

but Bruno is really good at exactly the type of ball that you think he can get on the end of. So, as ever with Victi Okarez, I'm not... You know, I'm slightly baffled by him, but not ready to sort of give up on the idea that he's not far away from a goal, because he's come back from this before. So we've got another panel on the go. Last week, we had the key match incidents panel telling us that we should have had a penalty. This week, they've said that the referee and VAR were correct not to give Gabriel a red card for his kick on MEMR. That's the panel unanimously. What we said? It's what we said. You could have been on the panel, because we had unanimous about that. There are actual words where multiple players were on the ground competing and challenging for the loose ball, and the action of Gabriel was not deemed to be an act of violent conduct or mysterious. Well, you were on the panel. Are you on the full of players on the panel? Because he's what we said. It's the word for word, that's the exact name. Barbatum. Absolutely. And you will see people online as well, so just consider this Arsenal fans. You will see people online saying that that just proves that pro-referring our pocket,

some people will just say, corruption. But you've just got to remember that when anybody talks about these sort of things, and it's not just about us, it's about any other clubs, it is a bad faith argument. They're starting from the position that I hate Arsenal, or I hate Liverpool, and then they're just filling in the rest of it to come to the conclusion that the club they hate are bad, and everything's terrible. So it doesn't matter. These people are just wasting their own time making a lot of noise. But at the same time, obviously, sorry, is it so bad to kick in my Martinez in the face? I actually love corruption allegations. We've prayed for times like this. Yes. We went a season where we get new rules every week. We got yellow card for Rice Against Brighton. We got Martin Ellie, two yellow cards in one phase of play. We run a trossade against Man City. Remember David Louise giving away our penalty for getting caught up. Yeah. There's a drink on the top.

Yeah. Well, we have suffered. I'll take all the corruption allegations. Absolutely. He's literally just being corruption. It's his main philosophy last so much. It doesn't work when it's a panel of five, and it was five zero in terms of in favour of us in that situation. If it was even four one or three two, you might have a point, but literally all five panel members said no. Nothing to see here. So further proof that we have got them right. Where we want to scare the last. So the other thing going on with the various panels is that there's nothing yet on the edge of the concert Dan Ballard situation, but Arsenal have said that we want to talk to pro ref about this. And I like this because people sort of pontificate about how they need to be better. And the process isn't good enough on all these different things. And I think the people who are actually affected by that need to be driving the kind of push to make their standards better. So I think every club should do that really.

If they are kind of up against a decision like that that harms them in some way, the more pressure they've got to be better. You said you put a thing in the group earlier about Dan Ballard. It's clearly a tricky try and so it's a scheme running a fraud ring. And there's a penalty scam going on. And I was just thinking, yeah, so Dan Ballard, he's always in the box, almost like a striker. And the shorthand for striker is ST. If you replace the two Ls in his name of ST, that's exactly what he is. Nothing gets passed to you man. He's a hailing boy isn't he? We've learned the dark arts from the young age clearly. I respect it because it's very rare that a football look and have a special move. He's just running with it. Secret Juno role. So yes, to just to clarify who the key match incident panel is, they are comprised of one Premier League representative, presumably Michel Arthetta, one from Pro Reff,

which is the new name for PGMO L. If anyone doesn't realize that and three former players and coaches, again, presumably all Arsenal related as well. It's once again, it's mountain groans because, yeah, what have we got? What have we got? And how far does this star sort of, you know, surge? It's looking back at that goal. I said as well at the time, I was like, he did this all in his most, he was a week of foot.

But there was one point where Max goes round the defender, the extra center back with his good foot. And then opens up all the space when SA was actually screaming for it on the left and puts it in the bottom corner. And that is something that you can't teach. You can't teach that at level of balance, the ability on both feet to dribble and go outside. You can't defend against it. And if you can just even nurture that part of his game, you are nurturing a player that we don't produce in England. I think we've said it before in his putt that this is very different. Not many players are scoring braces in any sort of competition in men's football at 16. And he's doing it a lot of times when he plays as well. He's doing something special. He's creating a bit of magic. I was cracking up because as he's always he's shouting for the ball. It reminded me of, can I cry it back? Yeah, it was. He's so special. I can't have brought a tear to my eye because I want to refer to him as starboy, which he is.

He is the starboy. And he's got the privilege of coming through as the starboy when we are at the height of our pounds. So he will be nurtured. His minutes will be considered. He won't be burnt out. He won't be running to the ground, which I feel like a little bit has happened with the original starboy, Saka, who came in when we needed him. And his light came when he was super dark. I feel like we have used him and maybe abused him a little bit, but I know he also wants to play as much as he has. But it's nice to have a player of that quality and not need him. That's a good brilliant point. I think I was saying to Jim before that the key thing now is keeping someone of that talent. He's head screwed on because he's going to need to stay short. So he's going to need to play under 21 games. And he's got to approach playing for the resies in under 21s with the same intensity. He approaches playing for the senior team to keep developing at that level. But we're going to be dropping him back there and bringing him back in at times.

But we can do that. We got a luxury and it's a very good point about burn out because I know your miles playing every single minute under the sun. And even playing when he was injured, he probably injured at the World Cup. But we saw with Owen. Owen broke in to the team at 1617. And he was kind of burnt out. He was serious injuries by 22, 23. But the time he came back from Madrid in his mid 20s, he was the shadow of the player. We can actually really protect his guy. And with the way he plays, you know, I'm thinking way ahead here. But you're looking at the likes of Messi and everyone else in tearing up the World Cup. But for you know, I'm 40. He's got the ability to pace won't matter as much. So he can have a really long career if he's looked after because he's got so much ability on the ball. And he's such an intelligent player. Very important with the car after him. And Mikhail has been very, very, he's comments after the game were like, no, he's got to earn his minutes, but he will get his minutes. And I think he's trying to just keep his feet on the ground as well because he's got all of your massive aura. For the long term as well, it's important not to play these players too much because they're still growing right. The effects that can have on your body in the long term as you've alluded to there with Michael Owen are like very real and very documented.

But I was really struck by the difference in the performance the other night compared to when he first broke through in the preseason friendlies last season. And the game at Amfield where he came on and it felt almost felt a bit gimmicky of after to bring him on in that moment. I know it was a sign of faith, but it still felt like, alright, this really the best option. A sort of little Hollywood moment. And then he almost, he looked a little bit too eager to take his man on in a way that he would telegraph. And we weren't quite sure of exactly what he was going to bring to the table. But I mean, if you compare though, I know it's a full game compared to a cameo, but if you compare the way he played to the little flashes we saw at the start of last season, there's clear progress. It's amazing how much he's developed in that short amount of time. He put in a really, really solid performance in every aspect of his game. It was really impressed with his pressing, really impressed with his sort of diligence in terms of his defensive work as well. It is, it suggests that he's one of those kind of football sponge guys who takes instructions on and learns stuff quickly and understands what he's supposed to do in the team.

It's about the seniority to sort of shrug off both Ezra and Yoko Rez in taking that ball forward as well is so, so impressive. Now, we're all excited about what Max Tamer is going to be in the future. But I mean, what do you see from this season realistically? More minutes, I think is the natural answer. He played a part, a really important part last season. Coming in against Everton is the standout for me. I think he changed that game and I think we see Max maybe starting one or two Premier League games. That's what I see his progression for him this season. Yeah, I think it was interesting. He played centrally, obviously on a Tuesday where he's been spent a lot of his minutes have come out wide, right? But he's showing that, you know, he's got that other string to his bow. So I think when injuries happen and they're inevitable and I'm actually we don't want him to happen. I think he will now be a serious option and I'll tell what we want to be waiting for those moments for now.

He'll be the car about carpe and he might get minutes, garbage minutes to the end of Premier League games and then Champions League. Or if we qualify and it's early in the Champions League like Eiffelman, we did a couple of seasons ago. He might get some starts there, but I think when injuries come into play, I think if there's a saccharon money or even an Ode to God, there might be a role to play there. But gently, we're going to ease him in gently still. I was really excited to see him in the middle. I mean, he really delivered on it and it's kind of completely sort of changed my idea of where we might see him. I imagine he will get some minutes off the bench as you so sort of lay on in games. And I imagine, especially with Ode to God, probably as are in front of him in the Premier League, it will largely be off the right. But he does feel like a guy who's going to contribute. It's like, it's mad how it's like, it feels like if we need a goal, it's not crazy to look to him. I think what I'll tell you all to see and actually I saw it in this game is a little bit more of his discipline off the ball.

So him making those recovery runs and actually in about the 85 minute on Tuesday, you saw him running back to try and chase down a ball and him like, you know, hands on his knees, absolutely knackered, but that will come. The more games he plays, the more he will understand the importance of, yeah, I'm great guy that way, but I also have to do my work because everyone in this team, there's no superstars when it comes to shape defensive shape and structure and he'll get that by, you know, he's 16. You know, even now playing five or so, I've been playing five, five, five, five years, I still won't run back. It's so boring. That's horrible. That's horrible. That's just running. Just don't know who you're sat next to. You don't track that. You go all over your human being. You hate play with me. I'd say, yeah, Danny Graff will tell you that. Played him in midfield with me as a nightmare because I play for myself. I play for myself every time. You go all over. It's been said that Jack Wilshire was trying to take him on loan a couple of times for Luta.

It was like, come on, Jack. I'm a head home blaming. I don't blame him. I think that could be a useful outlet for us, but not Max Dam. No. I mean, he gave actually Wilshire gave him his debut in the, you know, at 13 in the under 18. So there is a story back there, but yeah, Luta and then league one. I don't think that would be the right sort of breeding ground and in place to the environment for him right now. But love it. It is. There is such a lovely story or connection there with Jack Wilshire being that, you know, precocious young talent. We had sort of 15 years ago and him having them moments in the league cup back then and now Dam and coming through and doing a similar thing. But at the time, we probably didn't manage Jack's career as well as we should have. And we've got to take some lessons from that in terms of looking after our new, our latest starboard. I think there's a, he's one of those players where I don't think a low move makes sense for him at all because he's, you know, without meaning to be too presumptuous, we can see that this kid is incredibly talented. His development is going to be different from most players.

And I think keeping that in house makes way, way more sense. There's a lot going on in the academy. We signed another player, Vincent Joseph, the 16 year old player left Liverpool and has agreed to join Arsenal. So I'm sort of really impressed by how serious we are about revamping the use set up. It's obviously going to be a source of income in the future as well, which is important as kind of cynical and sad as that is a sort of modern kind of reality of youth football. But it seems we're very serious about making this a proper sort of pathway into the first team as well with some good talent from across the league. And I know this is quite a sort of common thing now. The super clubs have kind of mad, kind of constant churn at youth level, but I'm excited by this. I think that was one of our biggest criticisms is that he didn't trust the youth. I think it was a fair criticism, but for so many young players to look at Arsenal now and say, that's where I want to develop as a player and that's where I may get an opportunity to play in a Premier League. It just shows how quickly our tetas have been able to shrug off that stigma and turn around that narrative.

Yeah, I... There's also this sort of developing situation with JJ Gabriel, a man in line with being a linguist. And his dad was a hayland boy. Oh, really? Could this be like the longest con ever? That was a whole set up to mug them off. And a little bit of revenge for them poaching Chido over you, Mark. Oh, no, this is for Van Persie. Oh, wow. This is going to be serious. Yeah, no, you're right. Yeah, this is big revenge points if we're in big categories. That's their gem, right? Yeah, no, no. It's an exceptional talent. It's mad that a 15-year-old is getting this much sort of focus. And that he's almost commands this sort of focus, but he's really, really good. But at the moment, it's the water club to be. So we're looking at other sort of players as well. We're nicking... Because at the moment, we've Brexit. You can't... Not by his true. The rules are being in place now where players can't move from country to country. So we're sort of looking where we used to get the fabricacies and framerators from abroad. We now have to look internally in his country.

And it looks like, word, and number one destination. Yeah, there's talk with him. He's likely to go to Real Madrid. He has an Irish passport. Oh, that's right. And he's that side, I think, so he can bypass all that. I think the whole thing is sort of mad, really. I understand hype around players who have actually played. That's unavoidable, because they've been in a massive spotlight. And I think for Britshire Romano is quite bad for this as well. He's always kind of posting stuff about really young players who haven't necessarily even kicked a ball for sort of, in a competitive sense for their teams. They're suddenly on this massive, massive platform. I just think there's a, it's a lot of hype and pressure for people whose brains are still growing to. Yeah, I think Chelsea were massive exponents of this years ago. There were lots of the salankies and all these other players. And there was so much hype around these players. They were put on massive contracts when they were too young to, and it almost, it creates this whole sort of system and ecosystem, which I don't think is helpful for the development in these players.

And it puts a lot of pressure on, oh, you've got to come in and deliver straight away, because there's been so much hype around you. We don't know, not good. I mean, we know Max is, we expect Max to be really good, but we don't know until you play the senior game, and you get those minutes under your belt, we don't know how good you actually are. And it can stunt, I think stunt development. I can't believe there's a 15-year-old out there that's saying, I'd rather do homework and go to school than play for Manu and I. You're a team, you literally do anything to get a house. Yeah. It was a queen. Oh, fly and go. And it's time has only just started, hasn't it? Yeah. It's September, but we're September, it's cool just so. I'm going to extend my summer break, actually. That's ridiculous. These are weird ones. The athletic reported earlier this week that Rio and Gamama is on Arsenal's radar. Just think about that. We're just collecting all the bright cars in England. Yeah, that's fun. I'll be honest, I would love that, because I think he is,

at the moment, he's being forced to play out wide right, because Liverpool need him there, because they haven't, for some reason, recruited well on that side, but he is naturally a left-winger, he's a very, very talented, not very talented, and he's earmarked to do wonderful things, you know, in the England-U, Franks as well, and Liverpool. And this is an opportunity, because he's so far down the pick in order of on the left-hand side at Liverpool, which is where he wants to play, keeping eye on it. He's still so young as well, down as well. But yeah, we could do with some more support on our left-hand side, so it'd be a good natural fit, I think. Yeah, I'd be amazed if they entertained that Liverpool. I think that would be a really sort of acrimonious thing, if we were to be serious about that, and try to make it happen. But he was born in Havering, which is where I'm from, so I'd like to see him come back down south. He was in Chelsea's Academy from the age of eight, and only joined Liverpool in 2024. So maybe we're thinking about using the pull of home to get him away from there. 100%. And as I said, if he's not developing well, we've getting the minutes he's getting over there, then I feel like these teams around these young players,

they will find another home, or they will start looking at least. And remind our getting involved. He is getting minutes, though, isn't he? Yeah, that's what makes this seem probably a non-star for me. To be playing for a team is the biggest Liverpool at his age. I think it would be a bit mad to be looking at a move now. Although I suppose if you're in the recruitment team, you're probably going, you're going to have a really good career. Why don't you have a home? We have mates. Come on. Makes sense. And JJ Gabriel as well, we lost the Gabriel. We did. We did. We still got three, because we've got Gabriel Renze. Yes. And Big Gabby's wife is also called Gabriel. So that counts. Do you know, I think one of Saliba's names is Gabriel as well. Is that right? Yeah. I think he's there. I'm sure he's Gabriel. Yeah, is there a Mar... Is Pierro and Capierre Martin in there somewhere as well? We lost a Martin in the Martinelli, but we got two Martins in the midfield. Maybe a third Martin going on. I don't... I think I'm autistic. I'll be there for the other.

How do you feel... How do you think Heinz I felt about... ...felt about the catch-up? Proud. I think I did it just proud every time we see any sort.
