About this episode

Pre-season is finally here!
Nikola Jokic used Media Day to tell everybody that he will sign his extension next summer and that he wants to have a legacy in Denver and become legendary. Music to our ears. DeMar DeRozan told everybody he is here to take some of the load off of Joker and Jamal, and David Adelman brushed away questions about a horrible playoff series versus the Wolves by emphasizing the 54-win season. OK, Jennifer. He got backed up by Ben Tenzer and Jon Wallace, so the most important thing is - everybody's job is safe. Josh Kroenke didn't think he was needed at Media Day after saying everybody except Joker is on the table, and then brought everybody back. Well, except for Peyton, Tim, and Jonas. Minimum and two-way guys are here to take them over the hump; it seems what the plan is.
Miroslav is joined by last week's Trivia co-champions Tyler Barr and Jeremy Poley, and Nuggets Wave podcast host Rayvone Hackshaw.
The squad discusses Media Day and Training Camp takeaways, and also Ryan Nembhard's two-way signing.

And the preseason has started the Nuggets are in Boulder and I'm not gonna say that is entirely my doing but I've been screaming for the past two seasons about them holding their training camp at altitude instead of sea level in California. Before the camp started we got media day where Nikolayokitsa said he'll sign his extension next summer if the Nuggets still want him. He also went a bit off the script when he mentioned how much more competitive FIBA and Euro League basketball are and that he wishes every NBA player would get to experience it for at least six months. The Marcus cousins heard the part of the quote and of course ran with it because that is what former NBA players who most probably spent most of their wealth already do in podcasts nowadays. David Aderman said the Nuggets had a great season last year and that 10-bate bad days can't erase that.
Okay David and he got backed up by Ben Tenser and John Wallace so the most important thing is everybody's job is safe. Josh Kronki didn't think he was needed that media day after saying everybody except Joker was on the table and then brought everybody back. Well everybody except Peyton Tim and Jonas. Minimum and two way guys are here to take them over the hump I guess. The Marthe Rosen seemed enthusiastic about helping Joker and Jamal by taking some burden off their chests. Then Christian Brown told us his ankle is healthy and that he has no restrictions with it. Yeah that's gonna do for the intro for today. My guess for today feature a little controversy. Last week I made the biggest mistake in DNVR Nuggets End One game show history when I announced that after the real winner Nick Herzog was ineligible to return for the third week in a row,
the V default winner was decided with an extra game at the very end of the show since Nick won the tiebreaker game too. Tyler won that game fair and square but the controversy was Jeremy actually won the tiebreaker game which means the extra game wasn't needed after all. Anyway to solve this issue I have both Tyler and Jeremy back. Welcome back to the show fellas. Thank you. Jeremy to be good at camera is off. Out of disgrace from what happened last week. I don't know whether this is a good or bad thing me being back because I was the person who blurt out like 90% of the answer that's correct like an idiot and can't put it together and then the other person gets it. So I don't know if that makes me the underdog to root for or that really annoying guy that you can't wait to see gone but we'll find out. I'm also giving you a chance to tell me what you think of me as the game show
whole terrible terrible. I haven't waited for this question for years since before you even did a game I thought you were the worst game show host that I'd ever seen before. Tyler are you in a better mood today than Jeremy? Apparently. Yeah I'm having a great day. Yeah. Okay last but not least an old friend from Arvada Colorado well originally from Maryland but he was so cool to move to Colorado because of his favorite NBA team. It's my bowling coach Ray Vaughan Ray Haksha. Welcome back Ray. Hey Mirariou. Very good how about you? Well, well guys are we excited about today being the actual first day of preseason the the actual first preseason game comes to us or are you just you know waiting for the real thing to start meaning playoff in April? You know for me it's kind of
like a basketball groundhog day you know am I going to love every single minute of this preseason game probably not but it's kind of a sign of basketball times to come. Yeah I mean preseason you know it's it's it's good to watch the guys who aren't going to play as much you know see what they got especially since we have so many new players yeah it'll be fun to watch him any favorites you have well I want to see I mean all the buzz is about Whibor right now you know and and you know we got this guy with all this potential talent and see if you can do anything yeah I want to see if Duran ever gets to play I'd love to see Duran you know after he went down with the injury it's always just been kind of like a what if so Jeremy just to fill you in the nuggets are playing against Utah in Boulder today and this is information I've learned two
hours ago I wasn't locked in at all I was like oh my god the game is going to be like three hours after the show that's not good for the show rating but you know what it is what it is like it's what happens when you're not paying attention I was so locked in into Broncos start the time which is like in 90 minutes from now and I was just trying to avoid that one and by lucky chance we are avoiding that the the live nuggets game as well Jeremy who are you most looking forward to watch today I just want to say I think that was really good planning I'm just imagining all the people between the Broncos games and the nuggets game just pretty gaming right now just slamming beers anytime that you know Raven says something absolutely stupid I think that was the game that we used to play it's been a long time since it's been on the show with you buddy but yeah you know to that point of like cam even maybe nemhard to a certain degree but all these kind of like potentials you know
they wind up on a few teams and they can't prove it it it it feels to me like well what would be different about showing up in a precincts in game and really proving something it to me it's almost more of one of these like are you able to get into a lineup with Yokech who happens to have that key that does unlock something that everybody saw in you in college or you know earlier on which would be really cool but again we're not looking for players really to play next to Yokech those guys are all locked into their spots but that's not to say that something you know it doesn't happen throughout the season injuries have been plaguing the nuggets for a long time I'm just not sure if we see that in the preseason or not you know how many minutes are we gonna see cam playing next to Yokech in the preseason right I have a feeling you have a list of things you want to see today I'm a Brazil guy I mean I'll start there I definitely kind of be like I called it but I do
I'm happy he's here and I'm very interested to see how far along he is in that Aaron Gordon understudy development because I feel like one of those guys Brazil Zeke homes I feel like they're gonna be nice where Aaron doesn't play or maybe Spencer has a hamstring injury where you want to be able to trust them on the regular season so that's something I'm looking for Tyler do you have do you have a like a lineup you would like to see today would you like to see Joker you know matched with some bench guys today or do you just want to see the real starting five you know reviving their flames from previous seasons I mean I've seen that enough where you know I honestly I don't want to see them play too much I want to you know I don't think they need to you know to play in the preseason to really be successful in the regular season I want to see the
bench this new bench with the Rosen and see if Adelman's really gonna go to a 10 man lineup like he said you know what is a all bench lineup with the Rosen look like I'm more curious about that because there's a lot of change there Jeremy as you as you mentioned the nuggets have signed Ryan NEMHARD and that he was part of the training camp as well he addresses the fact that Jamal and Tios Jones were the only primary ball handlers on the team but people in dollars hate NEMHARD though it's almost exclusively related to his size people are just high-tests nowadays what are your thoughts and how influenced are they by the 28 and 10 game Ryan had against us are awesome defense last season I mean that's a really good point it's it's hard to really like build any sort of real profile on these guys in just these small moments like I mean you can go back to some playoffs
that the nuggets have had where like somebody on the timber walls will show up out of nowhere and absolutely destroy us some no name guy off the bench and then you know they have no career after that if you looked at just that small little microcosm you might think they're great and that goes for both both nuggets fans or you know in this case math math or expands or something like that but then you wind up with like you know who's the guy who went from the timber wolves to the hawks and either he was like the the yeah yeah either the most improved or the runner up to most improved last season like you know you have guys who do take advantage of that small window that they get and then they absolutely are able to run with it when the opportunity a bigger opportunity comes up so you know I think it's one of those things where has he earned the right to prove himself absolutely has he earned anything more than that has he earned a spot no so let's let's see what he does with this short little you know at least that we give him and see where he goes from there
Ray do you have a a nemhardt dig you know if you asked me this a month ago I would be very pessimistic I would I am a high-dust I will admit it I'm not very high on like six six so I get that man I'm not and that's the thing is I'm not that tall like you might have you've met me and I've met NBA players and I'm not that tall and so but I will say I've done some soul searching much like I J.A.G. and I want to come up with some reasons for positivity and I will say that it's nice to have options you know if you're rolling the dice and even if it's a low likelihood that Ty is or nemhardt workout at least you've got a couple more bites at the apple with with someone who's going to be you know playable maybe they can be a little different from each other in some
ways so that that's all I can really ask for right now so Tyler guys like nemhard and and can with more are more more famously wide than our rookies Brazil and and and and and I don't know the other rookies the other rookies are other rookies for this season uh price yeah yeah so is it possible we're gonna get more hyped about our two way guys this season compared to the rookies what do you mean more hyped I mean just by the pure fact that we've heard of those guys and possibly seen them play a couple of times before like during the season we're gonna be more excited to see them get some time yeah yeah yeah no I I think there's definitely
some truth to that like I mean we've gone back a couple of years and and you know I mean this goes all the way back to I remember being on the stiffs years back and like the the amount of no name guys that that people who do what we do can wind up knowing and like rooting for and it's just really weird and nobody knows what we're talking about is like a really strange thing and now at this point they're not known in guys they're guys with some some clout and some reputation so I think absolutely at this point you know if there was ever a year for our lowest guy on the bench to pull off his trainers and get on the court and the cheer the crowd a cheer for him it's this year and so yeah why not have a little fun with that I mean the nuggets number one problem is health right I feel like we could probably agree on that like the number one hurdle between them and another championship maybe now I'm starting to speak too far but I feel like the number one hurdle between them and another championship is health and so we need to you know reach into
these bottom of the bench guys and and root for them and try and see something that they're able to handle because we'll we'll need them I'm for sure at some point Tyler I mentioned in my intro that the nuggets are going to be counting on as many minimum contract guys and two way guys as they have ever in their history but at the same time do you feel there's like plenty of of well-known faces there and you know possibly the NBA or their owners squeezing out guys to to to you know cotton salaries might work in in nuggets favor this season considering how many well-known guys are there on the bench yeah it could it definitely could I mean I think where we were at with the contracts when the new CBA came around at first you know it caused a lot of problems for us but it's going to start catching up to other teams and it appears Denver is kind of a destination for
some of these people you know for deros and it come here on the contract you came here on and to get with more and now nemhard who's you know just cut it's it's interesting that we're getting some some players you would not expect to be like you know to see a first round pick on a two way you know I think the fact that he came here speaks to the fact that Denver has something to offer players who who are interested in really competing and playing with one of the you know greatest players last week I mentioned that there are going to be some quotes from the media day we are going to run away with on this show and we're gonna right after this break don't go anywhere okay so guys I wanted to hear your favorite quotes from media day and what is your main takeaway from our first glimpse at the new nuggets roster led by season 12 Niko Liocai so I'm going to give
you some options to work with just in case you forgot because it happened almost a week ago so joker mentioned that he wants a legacy and to become legendary in Denver they are the Rosen wants to help joker and jomal with the load on offense and David otherman loves what they have done last season and tensor and Wallace concur you know 54 wins yeah that's why we play for Aaron Gordon guessing up jomal Murray the respect was so palpable those guys really really respect each other Christian Brown sounds and according to our guys in Boulder looks completely healthy so so Ray where would you like to start with when it comes to media day for me in Stamard or Rosen because I not only do I like what he said I also like that the team seems to have really bonded with him and have a lot of synergy at least in how they socially interact and as much as
I think this offseason has been challenging and maybe not what we expected and maybe even to some point that maybe somewhere down the line there's a pivot but in the meantime I kind of like that the mars here I like that he might present Denver with a level of optionality and how they approach the game that I think as much as jimmy I know you mentioned helping a thing they need to win a title else I think they need some counter play like to their through their best punches and I think de mar can be a real step forward in that department Jeremy two seasons ago we had a similar situation with Russell Westbrook when he came on the nuggets and Russ was great for them in the regular season he saved several games from from you know being lost and then in playoffs he was kind of hit and miss he had some really good games he had some really bad games like most of the nuggets really two seasons ago so are your expectations from de mar higher or lower compared to what Westbrook
gave us oh that's such a good question because they're very two different I think I've already said that twice in this show oh my gosh what's happening I mean so the good thing about Russ was that he's a guy who can show up not need to know a single thing about any of his teammates not need to have any chemistry with them and can absolutely explode and make something effective happen I think de mar is is less of that he's a great you know spot up shooter on his own he can create his own shot like really well but I think as as rivon was talking about he is talking about trying to help with the load and interact with the teammates and get some chemistry going with them you know he can be dangerous not just from um you know necessarily taking over the playmaking but always being that that question mark of when the ball is passed to him is he gonna take his own shot and make something with it or is he
going to like somebody else up like he doesn't have to be the greatest playmaker in the world because he is able to make his own shot and he is able to be dangerous and demand that attention that alone gives him some room to to help with playmaking where he's able to see it happen so um so I am seeing the potential for some like stronger chemistry uh and that's where my expectations are at with him at the same time I really hope he's able to lead our bench so I'm not necessarily you know looking for you know chemistry with yokech is being his number one you know uh list of requirements to fulfill um so if he can show up with you know depending on what the bench looks like I know coach said he wants to roll with ten strong so as he clarified that he wants to go like all five off the bench at once kind of a thing or has he clarified no he wants you know one of yokech and jimal in at all times he said he wants a ten man rotation if it's possible ten and a half even would be his preference if it would be possible so we don't know if that's like hockey
substitutes right or just you know uh mixing and matching but at the same time one thing that became pretty clear to me so far in the in the preseason is but we'll have to check on that today after we see the Utah game is that there's not a plan for the mar to be the de facto backup one as we talk last week it it it seems like uh uh like ties jones is firmly a backup one right now and and we'll see where it goes from there so so tyler are you comfortable with tyus getting the reins of a backup one to start the season as much as I am honestly because I actually feel uh tyus can be a really useful regular season player and you know even in even a playoff player in a pinch if needed yeah I mean we didn't see much of him last year you know so I don't have a lot to go off of you know as far as how he's going to look on this team but I mean
compared to you know who else was our backup one last year you know like so I think having somebody with experience who can really handle the ball um who's now got a you know a lot more time under their belt in on the nuggets I think it could go a long ways I mean yeah by the way what is your main takeaway from the media day like what is your favorite moment from media day uh I mean hearing cb is looking you know back to himself I mean that's going to be huge so just to have a starter who was so bad before and you know who relies on that athleticism and was really missing that so you know I want to see how cb can perform this year you know assuming he's really as healthy when it comes to cb like one one of the big things about him is him being a more comfortable ball handler of somebody who can bring the ball up and you know take some pressure off
Jamal uh in that way Ray are you optimistic about this factor for for Christian Brown and how do you feel about John Wallace's comment that the nuggets are going to need a lot of internal improvement this season is it comforting to hear that the guy who is there to bring you know a good roster in tells yeah well maybe if we having internal improvement it's it's going to be fine I do think that's the best path forward for him if that makes sense I don't want to I'm still looking for him to get back to where he was before the injury but once he does that I do think handling more maybe not creating for himself necessarily but if he can relieve Jamal of that pressure and get into the offense and do that sort of thing and be a respectable floor spacer that's great I think that that gets him pretty close to uh what would be expected from a guy
making 25 million dollars a year and I think that in the short term so work on that but also I am a little interested to see what Demar like might look like in that spot because I do think he has a little more familiarity with being a playmaker especially after his time in San Antonio and I think about that dynamic with ties as well if you want to play it's a very like old man YMCA lineup but if you want to mix him in with guys like Yoke and A.G and Cam and Demar and you kind of sit and use him as that sort of I'm going to find the guy with the right matchup whenever it is wherever it is I think the guy who can do that the best between the three of them is going to be a really valuable piece we are all I feel we are all very worried about the Nuggets defense when it comes to combination of Joker and and frontline defense in front of him when you have guys like
Jamal like Demar like Tyus you are kind of scared if you have two of those three guys next to Joker playing together and that makes it a bit complicated to figure out Demar's rotation because I'm not sure you can play him next to Jamal but you also cannot play him next to next to Tyus Jones so it's like what is the combination then is it like Tyus plays plays with Joker and then Demar plays with Marin Bagley and then whereas Jamal comes back into play it's a bit weird and I'm looking forward to see how David Arman tries to solve that puzzle. Can I get any worse? That is a very fair point. Can you get 38 and 15 from Ryan Nemhart against you? I don't know maybe
I'll see. Jeremy do you have any worries when it comes to I mean on that note you know the top of the West has become such a match-up deterministic situation you can be okay see the quote-unquote best team in the West and still lose because you matched up against San Antonio you can be the Nuggets and be a recent champion on their way to another championship and lose because you were matched up against the Timberwolves and so finding out during the regular season as you pointed out these different line-ups well maybe Demar you know with Jamal off the floor but with this guy in maybe it's somehow Diallo and Demar in with Yoke Echinere and Gordon or something like that and that somehow balances itself out if you can figure out where well in this scenario if a team has this type of a point guard
then then we know that we can roll out this combination and it only works against like this kind of opposing point guard but if you're able to figure that out then you've got a card going in the playoffs that you're able to play when you need it so maybe there's something in there I just want to you were you were talking about quotes so from media day so I want to go to Adelman talking about how great of a team how how how much success he had last season and I'm just like bro what are what are you talking who are you talking to right now like like you pointed out like is that what we're going for you're talking to a nation of fans who watch the championship team and want a championship and you're talking about 54 wins last season you're talking about last season being a success success like who are you talking to it sounds like somebody trying to like point out some sort of like good stat that happened regardless he could have been a ghost all season he could have
not shown up and the nuggets would have got 54 wins like honestly and so he's he's point at the one thing like he's in an interview for his next job that's what I'm seeing is he's just interviewing for his job after the nuggets right now by saying like yeah that 54 wins like I really kicked buttlasties and that was me like who are you talking to man you just summoned my my rant about I have something on my heart I need to share with you guys and it's it's not against the cronkeys per se because people think I'm against cronkeys hard and I'm really not it's more like I'm kind of sick of the the way the NBA owners have turned the league I mean it's something that happened decades ago but now it's so obvious with this new CBA they've agreed all together that we won't go for it all at the same time because that's way too expensive if we all go for it every year it's not gonna be
sustainable of money wise so let's do your turn my turn his turn their turn it's it's what James Dolan just did with New York he just won the championship and said no way I'm spending any more money like I don't care I'm not giving my team the best possible chance of winning so this 54 win threshold is something that goes in line with both Josh Cronkeys said his plan was for the rest of jokers career and that is to win as many games as possible not championships but games because you know why if you win games your seats are getting filled out and you can have high ticket prices and stuff like that not necessarily championships but just being competitive every year and you know with joker you you have that already and you know and by the way we now come to my favorite quote of the media day it's just the joker who is saying yeah I'm staying here
regardless of what happens because I want to be a legendary in this city I feel this is the way it's supposed to be and this is really important to me and and you know the kse can just say whoopie like we don't need to spend too much money we are already already spending the most money out of all teams but not because we are some crazy spenders it's because all the owners simultaneously agreed we are not spending you know Steve Balmer money anymore like we've just put Steve Balmer in the dog house we took five first round picks away from him so he should behave going forward and we are just gonna slide under the aprons all together and have a have a fun cost saving season Tyler am I getting too winded up about this I think it's a fair point I mean you know everybody talks about all the strings that come with being in the second apron aside from the money but it's a ton of money and I think that's probably the
primary driver you know they are investing a little bit outside of the salaries so I think that's you know if you wanted to find a counterpoint you know they announced some some changes they're making to the arena and everything that are gonna cost them some money so but you know now they have a baseball team too so it's tough to do yeah it's really make them some money by the way yeah yeah right that's true I mean you know it's a business Ray do you think Josh Groenky would be happy if his team would just continue winning 54 games in the next three seasons regardless of their playoff success I think it depends on how they lose I think if they continue this down one the downward trend of getting further and further and further and further away I don't know how you can get further than getting out of the first round but if you embarrass if they embarrass themselves they're embarrassing the nuggets they're embarrassing the city they're embarrassing me and I'm sure
Josh Groenky as the owner of the team kind of feels that way but to that point I mean so circling back to the original statement who is he talking to I think he's talking to the players when he when he's I know it seems it's coming off defensive in a way that seems insecure but it's possible the more I mean I'm thinking about it that the team itself is need some reassurance that that they can they need some support maybe that's how David Adelman films I just got to say to the point of like how they lose I don't know if you can lose much worse than this last season and what did Kronky say afterwards Josh everything is on the table aside from Yokech everything is on the table and if that's true if you like just picture a table and like all these cards are on it like Josh is willing to change anything and everything and what change nothing so so if the decision
there feels like I don't know if there's a way that the nuggets could lose that actually would create a major change he looked at the situation and he said not to back up Miros Love here but he basically said you know what we're we're successful if we just continue going forward and if I do actually change something that's on the table here I risk that success and it's more important to me to hold on to 54 wins a season than it is for me to go after an actual championship I don't want to risk it just to be clear on my stance I'm not saying they're wrong like I'm not loving it but it is possible that you know with a great help of basketball gods when it comes to their help they might be better this summer even with you know losing patron with losing team hardy with losing Jonas Valentino's you know who knows maybe Demar the Rosen has the best season of his last 10 or whatever like it's possible it's not impossible he's finally playing you know winning an
organization after many many many years like since San Antonio really and even that San Antonio team was a first round exit just like these nuggets but I don't want to digress too hard it's it's possible put your head in the ring and hope for other team to have worse injury luck than yours because we're living in this age where where it is so hard to play defense it is so hard to stay healthy while covering the whole Affing Court all the time from the guys who are just shooting you know trees from 35 feet away so it's it's really difficult and yeah the hope for luck and yeah maybe maybe it's this year you never know but maybe the big moral of the story is even if they have an awesome season this year for whatever reason don't expect next one to be awesome as well like we expected that in 2023 and now we know it wasn't real but now I feel like we have this
this new maturity as a as a fan base to you know as one famous comedian said why the hell would anything good ever happen like don't expect great things and you might get surprised with pleasantly with with some stuff no I you never you well it could happen yeah yeah we're keep your heart open to positive changes and kind of to that point I think the nuggets are actually going to in the long term keep their eyes open to some roster changes even though they didn't make them this year it's kind of tough when you have a terrible year and all your players look that and it's kind of embarrassing but maybe after a good year some guys are a little more popular more flexible more tradable more valued I could see that as well and at least we're not the warriors who had like the the biggest swing factor was uh Christophe Persing is playing at least
60 games and then he had this mysterious illness from the jump and he's not in the training camp at all and it's like yeah that's way worse than what we have so yeah they had just need to wipe their tears off with their four championships and you never know who the nuggets could trade for that's all I'm saying Christops different warrior okay okay oh Jimmy Butler okay let's take and I'll take another rick and after that let's play some games gentlemen don't go anywhere so we are back and Tyler left the camera because he's smart doesn't want to to to to join the the trivia games again it I know it was an awful experience I need a scratch man I have to have the right for the notes and for the yeah the puzzle solving and everything yeah that is smart that is smart yeah that the the the note pad is allowed usage of internet while we are on internet is not
it's it's the rules are very simple okay so guys per usual we are gonna start with a type raker game I typed a couple of letters into basketball references search box and waited to see which NBA players former and current auto populated in the lists below this time around I type the letters J-A-M in honor of our all NBA guard Jamal Murray so these letters can be the first letters of either the first name or the family name Jeremy of said players and they are sorted in order of most win shares Jeremy so don't think only greatness but longevity as well there are 12 names on the list and I will give you all four shots each so that we can do a snake draft there will be misses and forfading guesses because this game is very hard and the first pick goes to Jeremy because his first name is the first in alphabetical order Ray will have the second pick and Tyler will get
the third pick and I am bringing in my trusty presentation here so the letters are J-A-M and Jeremy who is the first guy that pops into your mind when it comes to win shares throughout their career we're allowed to say Jamal Murray right we are okay Jamal Murray Jamal Murray is on the list he's already played for nine full seasons I guess you can count 10 but he missed one because of the injury Jamal Murray is on the list he is let me see how many guys I have we have 10 guys on the list and Jamal Murray is 10th so one point for you Jeremy here at Jamal Murray Ray your first pick the hero of millennial men everywhere LeBron James LeBron Ramon James is unsurprisingly number one
on the list he is entering his 23rd I thought this was nuggets this isn't nuggets no it's oh my gosh okay I feel so much better about this game we went to this last week Jeremy I don't know what's going on at any point the same thing every it's the same game every week by the way yeah Jeremy never watches the shows I get that I immediately closed my memory off anytime I'm talking or listening to Miroslav it's true it's it's it's healthier that way so LeBron is still in the league because he is trying to maintain his records because most of them are based only on longevity well not only longevity greatest as well but he is trying to push all of his records up but I'm sorry Bron you're never gonna catch John Stockton in totalis or totals steals you are so far away from those two figures but who knows if you play for 10 more seasons maybe you have a chance okay Tyler you have two two shots now
oh good because I've got so many in my mind right now excellent need all two I got I'm terrible this game how about a jimichael green see anywhere on there is probably not so that's what I got the Michael green nickel eye ock which is favorite we made ever who Nikola wanted to play forever for the nuggets unfortunately not on the list but we have a second chance yeah well if I was reaching for him with my first guess you probably know already I don't have another guess yet so I'm gonna keep let me keep thinking okay great we are back with you I'm feeling good today Jamal Crawford Jamal Crawford on the list number four he played for 19 seasons actually 20 seasons Jamal Crawford did his number four on the list so that's seven more points for U-Ray and now Jeremy
has two picks two amazing picks I could only think of one more Jamal and I'm glad that you said Jamal Crawford because that I'm gonna say this not yet but it's gonna be a bad one anyway I'm gonna keep wrong with James you know Bronny James isn't that on the list for win-share somewhere no James worthy has got to be a shine all star of win-share James worthy is a very worthy candidate for this list because he played for 11 seasons for the showtime lakers unlike the snowtime lakers we have today yeah he is on the list he is number five that's six points for you and you get another pick here and then by the way one of my first favorite players ever yeah he was fun he was back in like the for me he's really good as a TV analyst as well I enjoy listening to him on like one of the
lakers television stations when I'm listening to their despair after losing to him on random he takes the L with Grace yeah he does he does he's a really good guy yeah no I that takes me back to trading card days anyway the other James is the guy still going to day James Harden James Jimmy Harden already 17 seasons in the books number two on the list nine points for you great great shot Jeremy you stole this game last week and you might still it this time around again Ray your next pick doing some hard thinking I'm gonna go with wizards what he's not and on Jameson oh the best the best available answer number three on the list he played for 16 years most of them for the wizards I'm not even sure if he played he probably played for some other franchise as
well yeah number three on the list eight points for you now you are in the lead with 25 points Tyler do you have a fresh take on JAM I did think I did think of Harden but it was too late so that's just okay give me a mirror yeah oh see do you want to take on that both yeah okay okay thank you thank you for being time savory yeah Ray okay James Johnson James Johnson I like that pick that's a guy who likes to use his fits fists on the court not on the on the not on the list but don't worry you already won the game because Jeremy has 16 points and he cannot get nine more to tie you but Jeremy I'm still gonna let you use your last pick I definitely guy oh I have one last pick not that's right
yeah the last pick is well well then yeah so the only other Jamal I could think of was Jamal Mashburn is yet maybe the bottom of the you didn't think of Jamal McGlor I got to get who that is or or Jamir Nelson yeah yeah no the Jamal you mentioned Jamal measure sorry number eight on the list I'm okay all right three more points for you this is the the entire list the guys with missed James Edwards who played in 70s and through the 90s Jamal Wilkes also from the 70s and then Jamir Nelson yeah the nuggets legend also on the list interestingly enough Jamir Nelson still I had a Jamal Murray on this list which is which was a bit surprising to me but but it is what is Ray congrats on winning the tiebreaker game which means nothing you only have a tiebreaker in case
there's a tie at the end of the show we are going now straight to the game number one Ray gets the first pick because he won Tyler will be a second and Jeremy will be the third and of game number one is called name a nuggets player with the most games started last season regular season and playoffs combined so who had the most starts last season for the nuggets Jamal Murray it was an injury-ridled season this is why this game is kind of interesting so Ray started with Jamal Murray and he is number one on the list 12 points for you Jamal started in 81 games last season including playoff's Tyler what would be your first pick I think Cam Cam is number three on the list 60 games so that will give you 10 points Jeremy
okay yeah I was thinking either Cam or this guy give me Yokech Yokech number two on the list 71 games he missed a full month but somehow still got to 71 games 11 points for Jeremy who has another pick immediately I have a sneaky one I almost kind want to use but I'm pretty sure I can think of somebody better for being this spot yeah he's got to let's go let's go I don't know let's go Gordon Aaron Gordon 36 games number seven on the list that will be six more points for you Jeremy Tyler how about CB CB best available answer 50 games number four on the list which will give you nine points for Christian brown Ray two picks for you now Cam Johnson has been picked
Cam Johnson yeah actually yeah he was picked yes sorry okay then I will go with Spencer Jones Spencer Jones the best available answer tied for number five actually that will be eight points for you 40 games there was another guy with 40 games can you guess who it was Peyton Watson Peyton Watson the best available answer again eight more points for you 40 games for Peyton Watson so we decided not to keep him Tyler I'll just take balance Jonas Jonas Valentinas is on the list he is number 12 though actually tied for number 10 there are three guys tied for number 10 three points for you six starter starts for Jonas Valentinas he would have had more if he didn't hurt yourself oh yeah in January yeah this year Jeremy two picks for you
is such a mess it is a mess yeah Julian Strother Julian Strother number nine on the list four points for you he had 14 starts and you have another pick there's a shocking guy on this list I have to say like I want to say I don't know if it's giving giving things away like I want to say Monté just because he's Monté but like we had a healthy Jamal and so how much was he actually starting so I'm gonna go with the the maybe shocking one which Zik Zik Nadie not on the list oh really try yes Zik Nadie didn't start in many games I mean good but yeah he didn't start in you know six or more games because six is the least games player started that is on this list Tyler your last pick Jeremy ends the game with 21 points Tyler has 22 sorry Jeremy and Ray has 28 Tyler
uh about pick it Jalen picket is the one who is shocking 18 starts for Jalen picket last season wow that's the best available answer five points for you Tyler you're ending the game with 27 points which means Ray is the winner and has the last pick of the game uh Tim Hardaway Jr. Tim Hardaway Jr. Shockingly only six starts they just didn't want to start him at all even when he was like without seven guys he wanted to have his punch off off the bench and Tenzer and Wallace didn't have to have that punch back for this season so yeah what are we Julian Strutter that's gonna be whatever four more points I don't know Ray Ray won game number one and we are gonna take another break before I make an even bigger error when it comes to who wins the games in this show so don't go anywhere
okay we are back for game two Ray is still the in pole position because he won game number one Jeremy will get the second pick and Tyler will get the third pick and this time this is the whole list by the way the only guy we haven't mentioned is Jeremy's favorite player the Ron Holmes who also started in six games last season and Ray your question in game number two is nuggets players with the most games with ten or more retro attempts in a game regular season and playoff combined the Yockich era so since 2015 2016 season which nuggets had the most games with at least ten free throws attempted it sounds like not a very high bar to to cross but you're gonna be sure the nuggets yeah it kind of is for the nuggets not a lot of foul drawing going on
um but I'm gonna keep it simple we'll start with Nicole Yockich uh Nicole Yockich is a pretty good pick I'm going to give it to you uh because he is number one on this list he had 113 such games that foul beta Ray you are getting 12 12 points for your first pick and now we go to Jeremy and his first guess the guy who does everything he can to avoid free throws but has played the most jimal Murray jimal Murray is a good guess he is number three on the list so that's really ten points would you guess let's make it one season half the most so Nicole Yockich had 113 how many do you guess jimal had 80 50 Tyler what would you say this is just a close
for the 50 yeah 65 yeah 24 oh 24 wow yeah he does try to to to you know escape contact a very critical score he is a hooper that can score in the most impossible situations but those situations do not involve falling okay Tyler now you have two two picks you know including possibly getting number two guy on the list uh how about Monte Morris Monte Morris interesting guess he played four seasons I believe for the nuggets but I don't think he he got that much contact not on the list not on the list on the list at all okay the the rent short a g Aaron Gordon very good guess fourth fourth on the list so that will give you to to to to to to to to to to to nine points and shockingly low number games only 13 such games in his nuggets career which is already like
what six seasons long five seasons long five and a half I believe so yeah uh Aaron Gordon 13 such games Jeremy your pick I'm just going off of volume at this point MPJ Michael Porter Jr Michael Porter Jr Michael Porter Jr not on the list yeah yeah Ray two picks for you all right taking a shot here uh will Barton will will Barton yeah he had a lot of games for the nuggets uh I believe he played for almost seven seasons of the Yockich era which is like the third most how the world the players not on the list though really oh not on the list for Will Barton yeah can I ask how is it a secret how long the list is it's 12 guys on the list and
and there are four guys in the end of the list with three games each so basically I don't get to not getting Falcons the Neville Golanari Danilo Galinari the best available answer number two on the list only two seasons but only nine such games elite uh free throw painter wow yeah five more than Jamal in ten seasons wow and two he was really good at two seasons yeah he was really good at the line that's we need that man yeah we need it that we need it yes yes we need the Danilo again Jeremy uh oh gosh I don't know Gary Harris Gary Harris not on the list yeah he just never made the line that much yeah yeah he actually didn't he's also like
fourth most tenured guy in Yockich era yes like six seven seasons not sure exactly Tyler two picks for you your last two picks by the way rain is in lead with 23 Jeremy has ten and Tyler has nine points yeah I mean the good guess you can come back into the game Westbrook might actually be on the list I don't know Russell Westbrook is on the list yeah he is on the list he's one of those last three that's tied right he only had he only had three such games okay we're actually getting four points because there are four guys and you have another guest now you have 13 points which is eight fewer than Ray hmm is that right uh no ten less I don't know Bruce Brown Bruce Brown
not on the list Jeremy your last pick still going with old schoolers can you guess the number five guy who had a whooping eight such games in his like it's career Wilson Chandler I know was a volume shooter not on the list right last pick bones highland no bones yeah he was shooting those thirty five feet trees he's very valuable yeah it's true slapable is the word you're trying to find yeah bones highland played for one and a half seasons not on the list not on the list but you are running away with this show you got another big point here Ray you you are actually the winner of of this show completely but we're gonna play game number three because I like to force my guys to play game number three I'm curious the entire list so it's a very small read yeah Paul Milsa
put it Mudi a six one and a half see 100 Jordan the 100 Jordan yeah may some probably five Jeremy yeah yeah Peter bottom three as well all the bigs actually yeah most of them are bigs actually because nuggets guards they don't care about getting any free throws I guess historically okay so that's that's basically the moral of this story uh let's jump right back into game number one there's no pole position in game number three there's no pole position now because I've changed the rules of the game called can I have your full names or slash one of this is a well-known game for the veterans of the dnvr nuggets and one trivia game show but in case you are not one let me explain quickly what it is about I've created a long name consisting of the first name of one person the last name of that same person that meshes up nicely with the first name of the second person sometimes awkwardly honestly and finally the last name of the second person that sounds
very confusing so I will give you a real live example of this game I will if you give you uh the following clues the first person is the original mr. nugget and the second person is the most handsome dnvr nugget outside of this show your answer will be carry her recent wind so I'm gonna give you three pair of clues at the most at any game I have to say I'm sorry in advance because these are gonna be really difficult I feel like Jeff Morton is the only person alive who could guess all three combinations ahead of you but let's see let's see maybe we'll get lucky this time around so whoever thinks he has the combination he just needs to scream his own name so I can give him the first uh try after every pair of clues okay the first person was born in 1980 in colambia missouri the second person was born in 1989 in newark new jersey
hmm newark new jersey that that place came up maybe even last week whoever gets it needs to shout his own name if not we can move on to the second pair of clues I'm glad I secured the bag because this game always always gets me yeah you're not gonna feel better after this round of the game okay second pair of clues be ready to shout out your own name the first person played basketball at the university of missouri the second person played in the NBA for eight seasons and was a member of the 2014 Fiba World Cup team USA averaging 12 points and eight rebounds per game on that World Cup that team by the way won a gold medal
I got half of it uh so we are looking for a guy born in 1980 in missouri and played for missouri late NCAA level basketball the second person born in 1989 and won the gold medal in 2014 with team USA as one of the main guys averaging 12 points and eight rebounds per game saying it in a sexy voice isn't helping me at all near slang I'll still take the compliment though okay third pair of clues remember to shout your name the first person is an heir to the Walmart family inheritance and to cronkey sports and entertainment the second person spent seven seasons on the nuggets and is the NCAA all-time
rebounding leader raven yes Walter Peneth for read that is not correct uh anybody else I've exposed my intramation yeah I I was wrong the camp free too but I'm trying to so the first person is an heir to the Walmart family inheritance and to cronkey sports and entertainment the second person spent seven seasons on the nuggets and won the gold medal in 2014 with team USA is that not Josh Cronkey but I don't know how to do is Jeremy Josh Cronkey for read yeah that's correct Josh Cronkey and at for read oh I'm sorry I that is correct Jeremy I cannot believe you actually won one
that is amazing Jeremy well well then yes Josh Cronkey and at for read is correct and we are moving right away to to the combination number two the first person was born in Los Angeles California in an undisclosed year the second person is not the person it is a 1999 American satirical black comedy film oh 1999 a oh and the first person was born in Los Angeles but we don't know when okay at least I don't know I'm ready to go to the second clue yeah yeah okay by the way this combination is for Jeff Morton only second pair of clothes the first person received the
bachelor's degree in history from dartswood college in 1999 and a masters in business administration from the tux school of business at dartswood and in 2006 the second person is not the person it is a 1999 American satirical black comedy film written and directed by Mike Judge and Jeff Morton already has this I bet he does shout out to Jeff wherever you are my judge did some weird things 99 oh would have been a start of that like true nobody this might be his first feature movie but I'm not sure about that don't don't was he was he be listening by head he wants and now so now I'm just trying to figure out whether or not the the movie
was before 99 and I realize I'm giving clues away but I don't think it's good yeah anyway I like I don't think it is but we're only the same theme here I feel like I was probably like 97 but I don't know okay I'm ready for the third pair of clothes yes okay guys and no at the same time we ready to shout your name because now it's gonna get really easy not the first person is the president of team and media operations for cronkeys ports and entertainment and the team president for the Los Angeles Rams the second person is not a person it is a 1999 American satirical black comedy films Steven Root and Gary Cole I'm not gonna get this I'm sorry Lord the first person is the president of team and media operations for cronkeys ports and
entertainment second part about the Los Angeles Rams I don't care about really the second person is actually an American comedy film starring Ron Willing Livingston Jennifer Aniston Steven Root and Gary Cole directed by Mike Judge I don't even know that was my judge movie that's crazy and that's like his best maybe oh my god could be his best yeah could be I'm a big fan of Mike Judge so I don't know I don't watch movies and that's my problem that's such a weird whoever this is for the president of the team is that also Josh Cronkey are you are you allowed to do I don't love to do whatever I want Jeremy this is my show it isn't show um what is that movie called I keep thinking office office retards
what very 90s you are closer than you think we're all friends here office is one of the two words in the movie title office rejects office losers office hippies office are you just listing your names at the office but your managers go you I don't know I don't want to talk to you anymore guys we'll also get this one slide the the answer is Kevin Demoff is space office space is the movie and Kevin Demoff is the president of I'm there even so far away I was so far away never heard of Kevin Demoff okay yeah well well Jeff Morton is is shaking his head right now okay last combination for today
and I'm gonna let you watch Broncos after that if you want I don't I'm not making you by the way what about that drulok guy he's cool I don't know wrong wrong wrong season okay the first person is not the person it is a landlocked country located at the crossroads of central and south Asia the second person was born in 1947 in Colombia Missouri a lot of Colombia today Jeremy is yes is it Georgia Carl no okay it doesn't work like that but yeah I appreciate the effort
anybody else are we ready to move to the second pair of clues yeah okay I think so the first person is not the person it is a country boarded by Pakistan Iran Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Tajikistan and China Serbia the second person's first job listen to this Jeremy the second person's first job was sweeping the floors at his father's lumber yard so the first person is a country at the crossroads of central and south Asia bordered by Pakistan Iran Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Tajikistan Tyler yeah Kazakhstan crunchy there is not correct that's a great name though yo Mirslav you guys steal that for the next show we'll see we'll see okay
okay anybody else are we already collaborating you can you can I think it's Mongolia I was I was the first on my list but I couldn't come up with the person so since since there's no real you know uh fire of of of competition here I'm just gonna tell you it's not Mongolia yeah so you don't go in that direction Tyler was very very very close he didn't get it but he was very close but the third pair of clues should help you the first person is not a person it is a country whose capital is Kabul and it was invaded on separate occasions by the Soviet Union and the United States of America the second person Tyler Afghanistan crunchy actually yeah Afghanistan got the wrong thing yeah and by the way I'm not
blaming you for the wrong yes at the first because there are many stands there is a Turkmenistan and and Tajikistan and Afghanistan and Afghanistan and yeah and yeah Uzbekistan so so yeah Afghanistan crunchy is correct and yeah on that note we are gonna end this game because I don't want to put Stan crunchy and Afghanistan together on internet for for too long because this show might get cancel I don't know guys might get stands cold gray is our champion gray congrats is this your first win at the I don't I may have one not a finals but I remember getting two a playoff for some oh yeah that's that's that's that's absolutely good enough that's absolutely good enough I don't remember Jeremy ever winning except last week when he actually won and I said he didn't yeah
it's the only time I've ever played and it was by the way it was still a default win because Nick was the actual winner but you know it is what it is right I'm gonna let you plug whatever you want before we go hey I do a podcast and I talk about the nuggets on the internet you could find me and Peter at nuggets wave we should have an episode coming out like tomorrow nice good timing check that out check it out nuggets wave very fun very fun podcast it's kind of intermittent it's not out all the time and I'm always screaming at my guys do your shows more regularly because I really enjoy them but I get it it's not it's not easy to it's taken a long time to come to terms I wouldn't been really upset oh my god it's true it's true you see now now you feel better and you feel better Jeremy yeah Jeremy yeah I'm gonna plug apparently Metallica had a really awesome show at the
sphere in Las Vegas I think that's really cool and the only thing cooler would be tool there so I'm just gonna recommend everybody go to the tool show at the sphere when that happens what is your favorite Metallica album the black album like that was the first one for me I knew you would say that yeah you you okay you casual okay I'm kidding it's it's a great album I'm kidding I get because I love because Metallica is like my top five bands ever so so this is why oh I've been engaging with you let me change that the SNN album was actually one of the greatest moments in music history what sure yeah yeah it's not like it's never been done before but yeah I I agree it was a pretty cool album I I agree with SNM take Tyler anything to plug before we go no happy to be on again Merrill thanks for having me thank you guys for for for making this
Sunday more fun or less fun for some people I don't know we'll get the reviews later on and on that note that is all I've prepared for you my dear listener and we cherry on top please take the word prepared very loosely you've seen how these games look like we will be safe be kind to everybody even the weirdos on twitter who are insulting you on a personal or large group level call your mom and until next week don't forget that my plan is to be nuggets forever just like our Joker
