Wednesdays are a double feature, one poem here on one poem only, and one more on Instagram. Two poems, one poet, listen, watch, and share the real. Today you'll hear from Iris Onyamun. Moss Layden by Iris Onyamun. If you are curious about your bones, the tempering granted by fractures, how memories never line up the same way again. Meet me in the field where it began. Find me and step into the sunlight, the warmth that finds its way over a deliberate horizon and promised mountains. So at first, then all at once. Daylight. What begins already knows its ending, this fate between regret and anticipation, the redistribution of desire and using, and insistence of exhaling and softening. Sit, I will tell you about the sigh. When a wild and precious moment marries the land and

tumbles into knowing how breaking is born by believing. How a soft animal body can love and love and love until attention becomes devotion to the dozens of summers we have left to rest in places that become homes. Remember this too. Moss needs water, a luminous carrier of measured thirst, an ancient, ruthless plant that survives, tethered, midwifing ecosystems from ashes. Here, anchor into the uncertainty of spores. Here, pauses can be prayers or spells for days when everything is broken. And silence offers an altar for dreaming. You can find them on Instagram and Substack at Iverseignya Moon. They have published numerous books including the Pagan Portal series. Their poetry book is titled Rect, The Insistence

of Grief. Thank you for listening, poetry lover. Find one poem only on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. And stay a while. If you join my Substack or Patreon, you'll get a copy of my book and access to episodes from my audiobook.
