KAT Extension Talks: Should the Knicks Pay Up?

Should the Knicks give Karl-Anthony Towns a four-year, $276 million extension?

Yahoo Sports senior NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor joins CP The Fanchise to break down KAT’s contract situation and why the lack of a new deal shouldn't necessarily concern Knicks fans.

After helping New York win a championship, Towns has a strong case for another major payday. But with KAT entering his 30s and the NBA’s second apron making it increasingly difficult to keep expensive championship cores together, should the Knicks commit that much money?

CP and KOC discuss what KAT proved during the championship run, how Mike Brown unlocked him offensively during the playoffs, what a fair extension could look like and why New York may have reason to let negotiations play out.

Plus, how much sacrifice will be required to keep the Knicks’ championship window open?
