Welcome to Politics by Faith. Thanks to Peano. We recorded a TV special the other day on the October 7th Attacks. We'll start with just three years just three years ago So start with our opening monologue about what this means for Israel and America and Christians and Jews and then we'll talk with Mike Baker is the host to one of the top podcasts in the whole country the president's daily brief more from a geopolitical angle Then we'll get more to the Bible America is the greatest country in the world. Welcome to our special politics by faith the October 7th Attacks we are revisiting what happened three years ago now. Let me say up front if There's a lot of people perhaps who are sick and tired of hearing about Israel all the time We're gonna take some angles that you've never heard before from the Bible which you know The the media certainly not gonna take that angle the news isn't gonna take that angle, but we will it's worth a reminder of
What happened on that day? 6,000 Hamas and other terrorists from Gaza invaded southern Israel they killed at least 1,200 people mostly civilians and I'm doctored 251 Hostages brought them back into Gaza. This is the single deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust these terrorists killed babies and children and tortured and raped women and paraded them through the streets of Gaza Israel then responded because of course Like like we wouldn't Like they did that from Mexico into Texas or something like we wouldn't respond and then when Israel responded They were immediately accused of committing genocide Has bulletin terrorist and Lebanon do we get more detail on them later there to Israel's north they started firing missiles in Israel is real then responded again
Inguined and the world accused Israel of killing innocent people 166 Or all I say all the hostages one of these like this 166 were rescued 85 were killed in captivity And there was a massive effort just to get even their bodies back and we did One of the most moving stories for me was during the During this effort to try to rescue these hostages There were three who were trying to escape But they ended up being killed by IDF forces by Israeli defense forces a friendly fire I don't exactly know what they thought they were terrorists or they were Aiming at the terrorists and they hit these exactly how it went down but IDF forces killed these three Israeli hostages Now the IDF soldiers were destroyed of course All point of this operation is to rescue these people. We ended up killing them ourselves. They were destroyed until
the mom of one of the Israeli men wrote them a note And she wrote in this note I am Yotam's mother I wanted to tell you that I love you very much And I hug you here from afar real quick just time out. This is such a beautiful story I'm mom could have had hatred towards them could have written them a note saying how could you have done such a thing? You killed my son. You're awfully what's wrong with you She said I love you I know that everything that happened is absolutely not your fault And nobody's fault except that of Hamas I want you to look after yourselves and to think all the time that you were doing the best thing in the world The best thing that could happen that could help us Because all the people of Israel and all of us need you healthy You have to look after yourselves because only that way can you look after us Mom said nobody's gonna judge you or be angry not me not my husband not my daughter and not even Yotam
May his memory be blessed and not his brother We love you very much And the battalion wrote back to mom and said we received your message and since then we have been able to function again Before this we had shut down I just think that that story of forgiveness Grace Understanding in the midst of the the complexities and fog of war and the difficulty in the midst of a horror To show that level of forgiveness and grace and love. It's such a beautiful thing Now there have been forces in America and throughout the world Of course, we've been very effective in their PR campaign against Israel in this war and their response to October 7th from three years ago I agree with Douglas Murray when he said that Israel is the only country in the world who's never allowed to win a war Douglas Murray also says that no one's saying Free no one who said that people are saying free Palestine right they're not saying that because they love Muslims
That's how they're not saying oh, we love Muslims so much free Palestine. They're saying that because they hate Israel Here's the proof here's Douglas Murray I'm so fed up of the double standards on all of this Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Muslims have been killed by Bashar al-Assad and other Muslims in the civil war in Syria There's no one on the streets who have sit me or Melbourne There's no one on the streets of London. We have seen hundreds of thousands of people killed in Yemen Muslims being killed There's no one on the streets of Melbourne nobody's marching for the dead Muslims in Yemen. Muslims do not love other Muslims They have no love for they have no love for the Palestinian people's None if they had any the Jordanians would have taken in the West Bank Palestinians Egyptians would have taken in the the the territory they used to run the Gaza and own And they would have taken in the Palestinians from the Gaza why have the Egyptians made sure that not one
Palestinian is allowed to leave Gaza why but why do they make sure that their border wall is tough as anything What do they mind one thing Jews living Jews living and Jews winning it hits some deep in their soul in their psyche The wall between Egypt and Palestine is more Intimidating and insane than any wall you've ever seen your life. It's crazy high barbed wire top to bottom It's insane How much of what we've all seen these last three years is out of love for the Muslim or Palestinian people versus how much of this fueled by hatred of the Jewish people In my estimation is I see it there is no comparison To what the Muslim tires wanted to do to Israel and what the Israelis want to do with Muslims Hamas and the rest they want to kill as many Jewish civilians as possible They thought October 7th was a great success It was only a failure in the sense that they wish they killed more they wanted to have killed more
1,600 wasn't enough. They wanted to kill 16,000 a hundred so they wanted to kill all of them And the more they killed the greater success their mission would have been The Israelis in response they want to kill as few Palestinians as possible They could kill them all right see the the the Hamas terrorists They don't have the ability to kill all the Jews the Jews have the ability to kill all the Palestinians But they didn't they don't do that instead Israel went through this 10 plus year long operation to create a network of shell companies To create walkie talkies with a little bit of explosive inside them that they could detonate on command Then they had a two year long operation in the making to start all these shell companies everything with the beepers So that they could only they could detonate them only injure Members of Hamas that's it. They only wanted to injure maybe kill members of Hamas Injure because we could identify who they then were when they had They're set their crotch blow it up or whatever because of the beeper now Israel could launch a bomb right now and Gaza
They're done They don't do that though Instead they come up with these long intricate detailed expensive time-consuming plans to just explode little beepers Now Hamas can't wipe Israel off the map yet, but if they could they would do it in a heartbeat That's why we went into Iran because we know Iran would do exactly that And we see the hatred that Muslims have against Jews that didn't go away Right if if the Muslims Would leave Israel alone Israel would not detonate another beeper anywhere But if Israel leaves their guard down The more Israelis would be killed we saw it with the fly Dubai plane just the other day then hijacking The goal was to hijack the plane and fly it into the ground somewhere in Tel Aviv kill a lot of people take out a holy site Whatever the plan exactly was, but they were very very close to hijacking that plane one the the pilot who got Acts in the back of the head multiple times. It was as a last ounce of energy he had He said this I'm going to die right now if I don't
Musters much strength as I can to open up that door and he was able to pull it off Now all this being said I also grew a Douglas Murray. He says Israel is winning this war Iran encircled Israel with Hamas and Gaza Hezbollah Lebanon Other terrorists in Syria and Iraq and Yemen like totally surrounded Israel and the nuclear program was just going to be Iran's ultimate trump card if they got it because if they did get it no one would be able to touch them But now three years after October 7 that it's so hard to tell in the moment things take time But three years have passed Hamas's leadership has gone Hezbollah their leaderships killed Israel took out Iran's air defenses We went further we finished the job Iran's currencies now totally worth this is literally zero US dollars no Iranian oil is anywhere Around the world it is not on any ship anywhere other around the world going anywhere They are absolutely on their less legs and his victor david's handson said if I ran falls It'll be as grand of a victory as the fall of the Berlin Wall
I ran we don't even like no one's seen their supreme leader. I don't even notice if it is alive or anything The only way that Israel hasn't won is the PR war Now that's what that's what Douglas Murray says now. I don't even know if that's true I think most rational people in America get it some loud people may not and they don't want to and that's fine Or maybe Israel will never win a PR war. I've read Many analyses on anti-semitism and where it comes from and maybe they all hit on some truth here there Right, they're part of a Thomas soul has a very interesting secular analysis as to why anti-semitism exists, but I think I think it's easier than everyone's making it. I think it's pretty simple The Jews are known as gods people Do you know what I mean 7-6 the Lord your God is chosen you to be a people for his treasured Possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth I think the hatred that Jews is very easy to understand first people hate God Second Jews are gods chosen people
Therefore people hate the Jews Right people hate God Jews are gods chosen people Therefore People hate the Jews If you hate God you're gonna hate God's people make sense, right? Let's take a break come back with some wonderful experts and scholars a biblical scholars as well Tell us understand what happened three years ago the response that has been and can continue to be those are geopolitical questions Also biblical questions of who are the Jews who are the Israelites? Is there a calling in a command for Christians for To support Israel and the Jews and what does that look like? We'll make sense of all that coming up right here on the first TV and politics by faith spread the word Welcome back to our special politics by faith the October 7th attacks Let's go to the great Mike Baker host of one of the top podcasts and the entire nation the president's daily
Brief Mr. Baker how are you sir? I do a well. Thanks man. Great to see you again. Thank you glad you're here. Thank you Let's just go back three years Remind us of some aspects of this attack the the actual physical attack how it happened And and what did Hamas do that maybe they've never done before? How did it catch Israel so off guard things like that take us back three years? Yeah Well, I think what they did that was most important from their perspective right from Hamas's perspective And yeah, yeah, Sim was a big part of this um Was that they they spent a lot of time prior to seven-hour to Creating this narrative that Hamas didn't really want to continue to this hostilities they didn't want this war They just wanted a better life and could you know, could we just all hold hands? It wasn't quite that simple But the message they were sending For really for a couple of years at least was this idea
that Eh, I think it's a new day and that lulled the Israeli government security services I would argue into kind of this sense that the threat isn't what it used to be And we saw that in a way because we started to see you know a lot of infighting political infighting in Israel and typically They're so worried about existential threats outside threats That they don't spend a great deal of time you know publicly Fighting politically right they try to keep that tamp down to the degree possible right they obviously have it But anyway, so you started to see more of this infighting which meant they had more time to think about themselves Rather than worrying about Hamas and that I would say is the number one thing that Hamas did that Enabled seven October Very interesting never before We you would think because the social media and everything That and we can see more of war than than a normal person maybe a scene before That we'd be more horrified by war
But it's interesting. I must feel like people become more of more numb to the evils of war How how brutal was what happened three years ago? No, it was It was gang is con It was it was Vikings landing on the beach. It was It was horrific right and And this video of it But yet today because we've all got ADHD right because also apparently it's okay to be somewhat anti-Semitic You know that's that's kind of spent set aside And they don't remember what happened right and yes It's terrible when it's dying civilians die and have a lot of Palestinians died since then yes You know how many would have probably not very many if Hamas hadn't decided to do this That was their plan They wanted to turn this upside down right because they they understood what would happen They understood how Israel would respond they knew this was going to happen They didn't care that their own citizens would be killed that's why they put their command centers underneath hospitals
And weapons depots underneath schools they don't they don't care And we've forgotten that because the passage of time, you know, it's like them 25 year anniversary of October 11th we just you know a lot of people were like, oh is it September 11th? How about that Yeah, yeah, and so I want to ask it so sinwar who was the leader of Hamas Who who planned this whole thing do you think he miscalculated like I guess if he were to look back on this would he be like Oh, thank goodness. We did this or oh man Really blew it. That was a bad idea No, he was you know he he was what he was he knew look there was no misunderstanding they They've been at this game with Israel for decades. They understood what they were getting into and The brutality with which they conducted the seven october attacks Was designed it wasn't as they just said well. Let's see what happens And some of our soldiers across the border and see, you know how it goes
um It was planned it was designed there was architecture around it. So I don't think yeah, I would would be you know and and you know I would Yeah, hey wish anybody dead. I don't really hate to wish anybody dead. There are people that deserve it He was one of them tremendous amount of blood on tans as a terrorist and a leader of Hamas. So Um, I don't think he would be surprised at where this went I think if you had pulled all the gossens citizens Uh If there had been a way there's not of course, but it there been a way to pull them survey them um without Hamas being aware of how they cast their vote. They would have said you crazy That's what you're thinking about doing you're gonna go do that and you're going to then create this conflict That's going to destroy Gaza Absolutely not, but that's not how it works Hamas is in control that I would argue that in the parts where Israel has an occupy They still are in control. They refused to disarm Um, and there is no international peacekeeping force. That's a bit of a farce
So yeah, I know I sound cynical, but the whole thing is a mess look not that you know not the conflict in the Middle East doesn't always Incredibly complex and layered and messy and horrific Um, and again, it doesn't discount the fact that it is awful that civilians have been killed right in this conflict Of course not that is a problem um, and yes, there should be transparency around The Israeli defense force and how they conduct their operations Um, but this whole thing kicked off because Hamas wanted it to kick off So on that point what do you say to the people who Criticize all this because it's genocide Israel's creating genocide. They've been committing genocide all this time when he said that Yeah, we throw genocide around like we throw the term Nazi Right, I mean we just got it. It doesn't have any meaning anymore. They're not committing genocide there. They've killed a Large number of people. They've destroyed a large part of Gaza in their pursuit of destroying Hamas Is that genocide? No genocide is the intent to destroy an entire civilization, right? That's not what's happening here
um, so they actually do Make the effort to plan surgical strikes to they actually do make the effort to more of our civilians before there's an operation They actually do they do you don't do those things if you're intent on genocide So maybe all those people who are horrified by the killing and that's not wrong of course they can be Come up with a different term because you're misusing the definition of that word Yeah, sorry Three years later now with military responses Lebanon and and Gaza and some other places too. Of course I ran militarily speaking Where would how would you assess Israel's success in in response and in the moment Yeah Well, it's kind of a hot mess isn't it That's that's why you have me on Mike because I give analysis like that Yeah Look that the Gaza situation has almost in a sense right? It's been because of the Iran conflict
It's been pushed to the periphery and it shouldn't be it needs to be resolved Can it be I don't know it's been they've been working on this for some time just like they've been working on issues related to Khazbullah and the khutis and others and so um I think it was real Has stepped back. I think they've taken a breath. I think what they're doing right now they're waiting for the upcoming elections um, and they've also been Kind of pressured by the US not to you get involved to You know, I how we want to refer refrain from you know a major conflict at this point so Israel I think Look they significantly degraded Khazbullah they significantly degraded Hamas they significantly, you know have degraded the Iranian regime leadership But has that solved any of those problems now and they're still there and in the Scope of things it's all dog ears in the Middle East I mean, it's like we think in short bites
Out there things progress very slowly but persistently and so we'll be revisiting a lot of these issues Not that we're not already need deep in them, but they'll be further conflict Right khazbullah that situation The Lebanese government has no control over khazbullah, you know So the US can set talk all the wants about negotiating with the Lebanese and coming up with a new plan But they're negotiating with the Lebanese government and the government has no control over khazbullah So those negotiations, you know, it's nice to have communication. It's nice to have diplomacy, but I'm not putting a lot stock at it and the Iran conflict that's a whole separate mess Mike Baker he's the host of the president's daily brief one of the top podcast and they attack on tree Mike Appreciate that was that was cherry wasn't it Mike that was cherry Listen down we go drink now It's it is what it is. It's the truth. It's the reality and that's what we call for more than anything
Mike be the man next time we chat it'll be more about sports and fun stuff Come numb next we'll we'll go to the Bible. We'll talk with A rabbi and then a Christian pastor coming up next right here on the first TV spread the word
