Thanks. I'm Corey Cove. This is the Power Trip Morning Show. There's Meat Sauce, Paul Lambert, Zach Halverson, and Max Fuller. Hi, hi. Good morning, fellas. Hey, Coralus. Hello. Top of the morning to you. Great. He's on his way in. Brilliant. Brilliant. You know that for a fact? I don't know. I mean, we say was yesterday. No, no, no, no. I mean, the top part. I guess we've literally really early to verify. Yeah. Uh, you're referring to Tommy Olson, who is on his way in. He should be here shortly. Fargo Flash Later, Ben Lieber Later, Tom Pillacero Later, William Swallich Later, maybe Ceyamons and later. We're just packed on a Thursday. Power Trip Morning Show. I think Wank is at his best. So much time. So little to do. Yeah, man. Strike that. Reverse it. Yeah, man. Lots to get to. Yeah. I don't know what. But something between now and nine o'clock. It'll be fun, man. How do you know? Because it, uh, I just know it will.
It'll be fun. What are you looking for? It's in the most, uh, Tom Pillacero. So you'll say that to Tommy Flash, Lieber, William and size face. Why men like that? That you were looking forward most to Tom. For sure. Yeah. Because you love football. Yeah. I love football. And there's a lot of trades happening. And, uh, I want to ask him more about that. But I'm excited to see every. What are the other trades? I saw the Porter one. What else did I miss? I'm asking about the. Oh, just that one. McCarthy bit. I like trades. Zach, how do you feel about number 18 for the New York Giants? Nine times two. You're talking about, uh, William. Um, hmm. I, uh, I've not seen it. I've done everything I can to, um, not stumble upon those photos. I don't want them. Those, little soon. Or, little soon. I mean, he's the same man. Just wearing different clothes. Right. You're cheering for the laundry. It's a sign felt that said that. Who said that? You're cheering for the laundry. I think Carmen reference that too.
Yeah. Who's telling the road from here? He'll be down the road at some point again. I don't know. I mean, he'll be playing in the Canadian football league. That's right down the road. I mean, I'll go watch a blue bomber game. I don't care. You've Googled that. Oh, oh, blue bombers. Would you buy a blue bomber McCarthy jersey? I might. I'm very happy I didn't buy the McCarthy Vikings jersey. Yeah, we bought one for my kiddo. I almost did. Yeah. And by the way, if they're, I mean, they got to be pretty cheap now, right? Oh, yeah. I would guess. Yeah. Clearance rack. Well, let's look. Clearance rack. Probably. Why would it not be? Go to like shields or whatever. It's probably 20 bucks. Take it. Please. Take my wife, please. Let's see here. That's gotta be still on, still beyond sale on the website, right? Vikings.com. I bet they, they actually, how does that work?
Do they just scrap it? No, I think they sell it at a discount would be my guess. Clearance rack. Yeah. 32 29. Only if she's 5, 3. Where are the preschool jersey? You know, it's weird. On at any store I've been to, like I was at a rallyhouse, which rallyhouse is badass. They don't sell a Kyler Murray jersey. You think somebody wouldn't want that, right? I mean, maybe not after Sunday, but after this Sunday when he lights the place up, people are going to want that. It'll be a hot commodity. Want to hear my cool sat for the day that I saw on Pro Football Talk.com. Yeah. You probably saw it as well. Yeah. The Minnesota Vikings who sneakily have won eight straight games because the ones last year didn't feel like they mattered because they didn't, right? They won five straight meaningless games, but they've won eight consecutive football games. It's kind of sneaky. Yeah. But the stat, that wasn't the stat. That was a stat, but that wasn't these stat.
Pro Football Talk.com and Mike Florial pointed out that if the Vikings went on Sunday and do it without gaining 250 yards, they would be the first team in the Super Bowl era. So essentially the first team ever to win four straight games without gaining 250 yards. Wow. It's never happened. Wow. Yeah. Um, the more I think about a Sunday's game, it's a, it's kind of a no win situation, right? I mean, if they get to 4, no, that would be great. But if they light this team up, everybody go, well, yeah, the dolphins is max when I would say are buns. And they, but if they struggle in the, especially the offense, if the offense struggles against Miami on Sunday, that's, that's not going to be good. So can I play devil's advocate?
Yeah. Of course. You just named one of the ways it would be a win. You blow them out. How is that not a win? Well, but I think some people would say, well, of course you blew them out. If you blow them out in the offense, looks good and you moved to 4, no, that's a win. Yeah. The non win is if, if we do this minus 250 crap again, if we're under 250, if we put up like 220 yards and win 13, 10 against a terrible team, then that's one of your scenarios where it's like, well, we won. But it's like, are we a garbage team? Yeah. But we're 4, no, is that possible to be really bad and be 4, no? It's kind of like that 2022 team, but this, right, the defense is legit. I think we all feel good about the defense. Let's, let's, let's put 400 yards or more up on Sunday. Yeah, go like 30 points. It's Max. Oh, said yesterday. Let's put some belts to ask. Come on now. Yeah, belts to ask. And as I said, the dolphins are cheeks and buns. Oh, they're ass. They're ass. And what? Slabs. Yeah.
What else? Yeah. Tiny. Yeah, tiny. I don't care for that word. But it's no. Booty is Maximus. That's too official. Yeah, well said. Booty. Yeah, booty. You love booty. Pyrus booty again. Getting old. Pyrus booty. 10 out of 10. Elite. So good. Yeah, Elite. I miss when Costco would sell the giant bags. Now they do like the kid to, you know, take the lunch sized bags of the kids can buy. Well, I don't need to open 40 bags. Yeah. I mean, adults, give me pirates booty in an adult size bag. Yeah, give Corey one giant bag. One big old booty. Yeah. And that is maybe the most addictive snack on the planet. I can't stop once one of those back in the day. At least one of those giant bags opened up. So just give me the whole bag. Have you tried their cheese balls? No. Those are fantastic. Is it still the white cheddar? No, it's actually orange.
And it's the flavor different. We don't have to bring racing. But it does a taste different. Uh, yeah, but they're outstanding. You should get what do you get those? Costco. Costco has pirates. No, like the Annie's cheese balls. Oh, I'm talking about pirates booty. That's specifically you just meant Costco. I'm in Costco. I thought you meant pirates booty made their own cheese balls. I'm like, that's news to me. Okay. Hmm. I've never heard of this every time I heard of what? Pirates booty. Oh, delicious. Max, yes or no? Pirates booty. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God, yes. Max, yeah, it's elite. Hmm. Looks pretty sweet. Yeah, thousand out of ten. Yeah, it's very good. They're great. Yeah, very good. I don't have them very often, but I'm only what I do. Handful at times, but it's elite. It is elite. I don't always have cheese puffs. When I do, when I do, it's pirate's booty. Yeah, it's very good. Is it pirate's booty in season? That's year on.
Yeah. I think they do have Halloween packs. Yeah, they do. Yeah. There's a whole bunch of options for like, you know, kids with peanut allergies and things who are supposed to hand out stuff like that. I don't know if that specifically is in that group, but there's a whole bunch of alternative options. Can I ask you a question? Sure. All of you. All of you can answer this, but specifically, Max O'Connor, because you have kiddos. Yeah. What would you do? Exactly. This is a true story. I'm not going to ask Mike, but he doesn't right now. Well, we don't know that. Well, yeah, good point. What would you do if you were invited to a birthday party, a kid's birthday party, and they asked you to donate to the kids 529. What would you say to that? What's the 520? It's like a hand. I ain't hand. My hands up. Yeah. Just Ryan Donaldson's. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, this kid already has a job.
No. No, it is not. You may not bring it up if it were right. So in lieu of a gift, like, are they saying, please don't give? You can either bring a gift or you can, and they send a list of gifts you, they want you to get and sizes. There's a friend of a friend, and I'm not making it up. I'll tell you off the ear, who it is. It's nobody, any of us know, but so many of my world got invited to this party. I would say, I would say donating to 529s is things for like grandparents and aunts and uncles. Like, if it's other kids, obviously, like, you're not having neighborhood kids come over with Ninja Turtles and a donation. Yeah, if so, that's a hundred percent out. Yeah, if so. That's for elderly family members to donate to 529s. Yes, correct. Yeah, that's not very fun. I mean, selfishly, for me, the gift giver, it's not very fun to just show up and give money to this mysterious 529, which I don't even know is going to go to the kid or what
the hell they're going to do with it. Yeah. So I'd rather just get a gift. I feel like that's kind of absurd to us. I hold the kid that I don't know. But it's like a 27. Yeah, 38. I mean, if I get in, you thought getting socks was bad and as a gift, like, imagine the kid opening up a car, be like, hey, happy birthday. We donated to your 529. Yeah, that's why it's got to be both. Right. It's got to be a present and a donation. Yeah. It's like George Kastanza writing a check in your name to the human fund. You guys don't watch sign, Phil. No, no human fund. Um, I mean, that's a nice thing to do. But again, that's a grant parents thing. Yeah, grant parents are supposed to give to 529s. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Everybody else is supposed to have fun. Yeah, just especially the younger they are. Yeah. Grandparents donate. What did they even like nowadays, not like kids with the digital, the digital stuff?
I was just saying. You just need digital gift cards. Yeah. There's like a million things and nothing at the same time. Like I said, an infinite amount of things that kids could desire, but then they also all just ended up wanting the same things that they see on TikTok or Instagram or whatever. Yeah. All just absolutely valueless. Yeah. The stuff that they want. 100%. They want 36 different squishies. Oh my God. I'm so sick of the bleep and squishies. I just can't believe it. And it's still going like I'm still going. I thought it would need those. The needles die out. Nope. It's come back. We could send some butter one. Oh, no. Yeah. Yeah. We have that one. I think I told my daughter the other day, I'm like, you have an entire pantry of fake foods when it comes to squishies. Yeah. She loves them. Man. And I'm an idiot and say that every time. Why didn't we think of that? Right. Oh my God. They cost nothing to make and you can sell them for a bajillion dollars. Yeah. The coffee shop we went to in Cross Lake, Cross Lake Coffee.
They had a whole section of that stuff. Squishy. Yep. Pat gets it. I was so high. We know Pat. Get out of the kids' toys. Yeah. Garzy. Garzy was there. Do you already have a $5.29 for Lou Dog? Oh, yeah. Do the grandparents donate to it? Yes, they do. Sure. Sure. That's fine. Yeah. So they're supposed to do. Yep. For the kid's future. Yeah. It'll be great. It doesn't matter. What happens if a kid gets to be 18 and then they don't use that money for education? I don't know. Can the kid just take it straight to the casino and say forget it? Is it just taxed differently if it doesn't go to education? If he withdraw and it doesn't go to, how does that work? It's a... I don't know. That's a good question. I don't know the answer. Like, what if the kid gets to a college aid and he goes, I'm not going to a secondary education. I want to go to a Linux city. They're all on blasts. Sionara suckers. My dad had put together a $5.29 for me.
There would have been no use for it. Like, what do we do with that money? Does he still have that money? What happened to that money? He would have been thrilled if you could count to $5.29. You are correct. That would have been considerably higher than he would have guessed. Like, what's Paul's record? So far, $5.29. What's Paul's weight? He struggled to get the next number. We said it started with a third and he couldn't figure it out. He quit, moved on. So he stopped at $5.29 and he took a nap. Correct. He had some pirates booty and took a nap. Correct. Hawks, Google pirates booty. Sure. He also has Google gutter helmet. gutter helmet, gutter helmet, mn.com. Never clean your gutters again. Beliefs are coming down. Don't worry about your gutters getting clogged if you go to gutter helmet, mn.com. All right, like I said, a billion people on the show between now and nine o'clock. Tommy Olson, bargo flash, Ben Lieber, dot com, Tom, Tom, Pelicero, William,
Pistol Wallach, maybe Simon's and lots to get to between now and nine power dream morning, Joe Fan. Let's see. I know his pro rewards, members. when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no. I played with players that didn't. I don't think that they really, truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it, and love it, and embrace it. He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment, you're proud of what you accomplish together. Listen to whatever it takes with Carly Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is there an epidemic against literature? More specifically, Black literature. Our books are being banned, scanned by AI, and destroyed. I'm Jack Weiss-Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit Podcast, we're outside asking
some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern day writers, why? They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Malcolm Axes, and Martin Luther King's on the round. They want to build children who have no empathy. That's really the ultimate goal. We want books that don't make white kids feel bad. So is the war on literacy and affirmation or our ability to connect? Well, people with a know-how sexy reading is then how fun they could be and not always associated with education. It could be in a state, it could be entertainment. And that is the beauty of reading. It can be all of those things. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, what are you reading next? Listen to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network on our iHeart Radio at Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's Quest Love. And on the Quest Love Show, I've been sitting down with some really interesting people. And I've got two recent episodes you should check out.
I caught up with my good friend, JoJo, and talk about her music, her career, and what she's been up to. Don't invite me to karaoke. I'm gonna make it weird. Someone's gonna try to sing, leave get out, or too little too late, or baby too. Oh, no. And I'm gonna be like, okay, cool. I also caught up with Wally 267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more. I don't even call it cheat day. That's a life day. I'm not doing that. Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday. Go Wednesday. This is what you do. Sleep later. Make a reservation for the rest of our lady. Just chill. Listen to the music you wanna listen to. Just enjoy it. It's gonna be all right. Nothing's gonna happen. You wanna wake up Wednesday? I'm like, oh, you're gonna feel better. And those are just two of the many recent episodes of The Quest Love Show. Listen to The Quest Love Show or the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, wherever you get your podcast. Peace. Whether you're stepping up to the starting line of a marathon
or just trying to take the first step toward a big, scary goal, the conversation in your head is usually the same. Do I have what it takes? I'm Emily Abadi, and on Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we dive into the grit, vulnerability, and mindset that fuels our greatest comebacks. I talk to elite athletes, Olympic champions, industry change makers, and everyday runners about how they face self-doubt, redefine success, and keep moving forward when life gets heavy. I just love to say I never know who's watching. So you wanna make sure you, you, through and through, and you just stay true to who you are. Yeah, your path might change because different things come on your path to disrupt it, but it's just putting you on a new path and the skills you have to have faith at the skills that you've learned and developed over time are going to continue to bring you success. When the world is burning and crashing around you, will you still say fight for your dream? Will you still say it's possible? Will you still believe you're a good person? Can you still see the brighter side of tomorrow? It's motivation, real talk, and practical wisdom for life on and off the run. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi
on the IHurt Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Good morning. VO Jordan comes at a cost. Oh, fast. What was the answer? No. He said yes. Oh, he said yes. I've met him. That's right. Yeah. You guys play poker together? Sure did. He was terrible. He hates folding because he thinks folding is losing.
You know what I mean? Yeah. He hated to fold. It agonized him. And this was a charity poker tournament. And he did not want to lose. That's why he's the goat. That's so great. Yeah. Just, yeah. Just fold, Mike. Yeah, just fold. You have six high. What are you doing? Right. You'd stare you down. And of course, I'm like, this is not real. Michael Jordan is staring me down. What is happening? Did you kind of geek out a little bit? Well, it's like a possible matter. Yeah. It's not even close. Will Smith was in the studio. That was like kind of surreal. It's like, wow, this is, that's actually what I've never, it's not even close. I've never been even remotely a star struck as I was when I was four feet away from Michael Jordan. It just did not seem real. Didn't seem real. He's a real person. What's going on here? Did you ask him about his playing days? Nope. What?
You'd be like, hey, Michael, I was playing basketball back. You played basketball, right? Nope. You okay. Didn't do that. Are you practicing for when you meet him? No, it was at a charity poker tournament. It was Trent Tucker's charity poker tournament. The thing I'll never forget was two things I'll never forget. The first thing was our table had the middle seat open when the tournament started. Jordan hadn't shown up yet. So all I was thinking is, that's not going to be him, is it? Is that his seat? He's just running a little way. One of the chances. Yeah. And he walked in and sort of walking right towards our table. I'm like, he's going to sit in there. And there it was. I'm like, you got to be kidding me. That's the first, you know, reverse bad beat of the tournament. Here we go. Yeah. Playing with MJ. There was security. And that's what that was part two of the tournament is. So the tournament was roped off. There was a lady who was on the other side of the rope. And she was on her phone as loudly as possible, possible talking to her son allegedly going,
no, I know. Yep. No, he's right in front of me. I can see him. No, for sure. Yeah, I can see if you would talk to you for a second, for sure. You want me to ask him? For sure. Hey, Michael, it's my son's birthday. Would you take, hang on a second. I'm asking Michael. Hang on a second. Michael, will you say, and he's like, I can't right now. And I'm like, for God's sakes, lady. He was the lamest thing I'd ever seen. Paul, your hands up. A billion percent she's at a casino. Yeah. But it was the most over the top loud phone conversation just to get his attention. And the second it started, I'm like, lady, everybody hates you. What are you doing? Everybody's not going to stop this charity poker tournament to talk to your son. No. And it's super unfair for you to think that he should do that. Right. Right. But she didn't. He pretty politely was like, yeah, I can't right now. I just, I just got here. She gave me a look like, wow, Michael Jordan's kind of a dick. It's like, nope, see the other way around actually. Nope. Yeah. You want to like just poke him in the shoulder and go, yeah, wow.
It's a real person. This is not believable as well. It's kind of, it's like when I'm for the first only time I met Mickey Manell. That's, that was surreal. Yeah. He was at a book signing at the Macy's downtown and it was, I don't know when he passed away in the mid 90s, I think, but it was around then probably 92, 93. And he would literally just sign books and never look up. And I think it was his daughter next to him and he was just to you, whatever. He's just there to make the money. And he, I had a big, huge black eye because I got hit in the face with a baseball. Couldn't catch you. No. And he looked up at me and was like, you look like Yogi Barron. And then went back to signing his books. That was so cool. That's surreal. So here's, I'm going to nitpick. Here's the only difference between Manell and Jordan for you and me is Manell was like, you know, your dad's legend, right? Jordan was our superhero, right? Like he was, that was our entire childhood.
Was Michael Jordan was the greatest athlete we'd ever seen before we even understand what great athletes are. We already like, you know, the Jordan commercials and watching him win everything. Well, not even I guess not everything until the early 90s, but see on them say I'm just, it was, that was our entire childhood was Michael Jordan. We grew up hearing about Mickey Mantle, but we saw zero games for Mickey Mantle. It would be surreal. Just even see him now. Sure. Michael. Sure. Did you look at what shoes he was wearing? Yeah. Was he wearing KJs? Are like Adidas. KJs. Yeah, you love that guy. I feel like that lady on the phone, if I remember my own story, right? I think she was asking for some kind of an autograph. I think she was angling for an autograph because it was his kid, the, her kid's birthday. I doubt it was his birthday. Something like, oh, but no, I'm sure he'll sign them. If I remember right, I think I, I don't think I'm making that up in my own head. She's, no, he's not going to sign anything. He's not going to sign something. Is that why Michael Jordan stood up and yelled all of that stuff?
No, that was a different poker player. No. Jordan did not end up shoeless in a ditch walking up and down 35 in the middle of a snowstorm. After a gigantic mental break out, what a story. And again, the father never saw that guy again. Not Michael Jordan and the guy you're talking about, never saw him again. And he was a regular, right? Never saw him again. Disappeared. Disappeared. I don't say he's still out wandering. I thought I was realizing it started anyway. I know you said this. It was winter. Winter. Yeah, winter. I've never seen a true mental breakdown firsthand, except for that one. You know who love that story? Star love it. He made me tell it all the time. Yeah. And he made me use all the words. Yeah. Yeah. Right. He'd say, please do it, genuine me. I'm like, well, okay. I want to feel like I'm there. Oh, man. What a story. What a story. Yeah. One of the craziest moments of my life. I would say I feel bad for the guy because I think he truly snapped.
I think his brain shut down. He called you it too. Technically the entire room. Okay. You're all, he didn't point at me and say it, but he's the whole room, he called. How did it feel? Where you at the table, you're saying, man, for one day, weren't you at the table where it started? Yeah. I don't know if you can answer that. Back. Let's just say hasn't happened to me. Are you waiting for it? Not in my town. Not in my town. Yeah. Yeah. So many inside jokes in this segment. Where the hell's Tommy? I don't know. I don't know. He was very excited. He was not yet, but he was very excited a couple days ago that is like I changed and he could be here today. Yeah. You know, like in the last handful of days, I feel like, all right, a new group of power trip guests arrive. We say, hey, what do you think about JJ? What do you think about PJ Fleck?
Rubin the blood on. No, I know it's Thursday, but between flash and Tommy, I can't wait to hear what they think of PJ Rubin blood all over his face, which is overwhelming the Washington wind. Like very few people are talking about the actual wind because we're all focused on PJ Rubin blood all over his face. Yeah. Which the wind should be more celebrated. That's a tough place to win. But it is a tough place to win. I'm not convinced they were great. Like you said in Grim suggested they might not even be a good team, but man, it's not very easy. The last handful of years to win in Washington and they did, but they got it back it up. They got a win and there he is. I don't know. Tell the whole group if you have a Michael Jordan story. You get a story, Thomas. Hey, man. Yeah. Okay. I've met him two times. The first time I met him was a trend, trend Tucker golf event. It's very similar. And I was like five and he was seven. Oh, damn. His peak, like glory days, glory days. And he's smoking a cigar. And of course, his hand went up to like, I remember, yeah, monster hands, yeah.
Second time. Valentine's Day 2020, right before COVID, you guys dated. No. You do one of those candlelight, white castle things and Sassin MJ were both there. What did you have to do to meet him? This is Sassin. Sassin's first time and not every time we ever went on a trip and we went to Chicago. It was the NBA All-Star weekend. We had no idea. And she got me buzzed up in the morning. We started day drinking. Go down Michigan, have shop and drunk the whole bit, right? And it's about six at night now. And we've been drinking since about 8 a.m. And I am real buzzed, real handsy. And this is early on in the relationship. So when you're early on, you're a lot of PDA. Right. But at this point, Sess is back at the hotel room. Yeah. You're looking for someone. No, this is actually when I was into women. Oh, it's got it. You said the quiet part of the house.
No, so. So you guys are walking along, walking along. Walking along and we just leave the bar and I go, where's the nice hotel? It's trying to be just a douche, right? So we go to this hotel and we're sitting in the lobby and we're on the couch and no joke from media away about seven feet away. There's just people sitting there, right? There's like a this huge group and we have like the lobby couch and no, like no joke. It was we were getting handsy handsy, like making out like to the point where if we, if a manager walked by, they said, what are you doing here? Get the hell out of here. Sure. Over the line. You were getting aggressive. Tongues out making out. We get it. Not the four seasons. Yeah. No, seriously. And we look up you guys and from Cory died away, I make eye contact with Michael Jordan. He's on the couch. He's on the couch. That's why the group is formed and they're and obviously I'm point to but I'm pretty sure they're like absurdly looking at us like what the hell are you guys doing?
And then he, Michael stands up and goes to the bathroom like three kids run after him. But then like the bouncers stop him or whoever like his bodyguard. And then I start coming to and I look around. Then you boy. Bad choice. I look up. I'm gonna make out. Michael Jordan that much aura. You guys the entire NBA all star were having their lunch and I don't know how we got in there. I looked around like I saw. I've never for like root like Rudy's head. You can see how tall he was. And all the football guy and everybody was there. Everybody I don't know how we got in what we did. But I was staring at all the NBA all stars at this little luncheon event. And I was so horny like crazy. You're so horny tonight. Can we get it? It's been established. But yeah, that's another time I met Michael Jordan. So pretty much it came on here and told you that I saw him on a couch and he went to
the bathroom. It was so cool. It's like seeing a ghost. It really is. It's it's it's. Look, one of the coolest things about this job in the last almost 25 years is we've had some big names walk through these doors either at the show in the hallway at the building and look like big names a list people. None of them have floored me like Michael Jordan. Yeah, so cool. And I was speechless in front of Jessica Simpson right gotta do it. Yeah, was she the best looking? Or no, you say Kristen Wiggins. Well, Kristen Wiggins ridiculously pretty. Um, Andy Moore is an absolute smoke show. She was here. I mean, yeah, Heidi Klum was unbelievable. My God, you guys have a lot of people in here. Yeah. Let's just go down the list. Who else? Like, and then she said, Wendy Williams. You like had a huge crush on Wendy Williams back in the day. Quarer. Don't recall saying that. Paul, your hands up. Wendy Williams. Yeah, she's on TV. What about good looking like any.
Just any guys stun you. How good looking they were. I mean, we'll smell. You know what I mean? Like God, that guy's made a sound outstanding. And he, I mean, he's yeah, he was. Yeah. Oh, you know who's unbelievably good looking? Um, Adam Weber. That's just for you. I knew you would like to. I always the best voice. So cool. Yeah, he's the coolest. Yeah, pictures don't do him. Just no, they don't do it. See, it's like Kristen Wigg. Yeah, right. Way, way, way more attractive than you would think. Kristen Wigg strikingly beautiful. Was she personable to like how you'd expect to be honest? We didn't get to meet her more than a couple of seconds. She was right out here in the hallway. Oh, yeah, yes, right. She was at K 102 and we didn't know she was in the building. That's what was crazy. We just walked out after the show and Wendy McClendon, Covey and Kristen Wigg, both from the Gal from Reno 9-1, but she's also in Bryant's face. So the two of them were there because they were at K 102. And I was like, what the hell? Because I'm a giant Reno 9-1 fan too. And that's an L fan.
I'm like, what is going on here? That's cool. And all of us were like, wow, it's Kristen Wigg pretty. Really? Super pretty. That's awesome. And she also happens to be one of the go's. I mean, she's also a Uber talent. Oh, yeah. But she's striking in person. Yeah, that's cool. We had Dylan O'Brien, you familiar? No, I'm doing well. Same guy. Yeah, he did traffic for a long time. That guy is here. Wow. He was, look, look, look. Reloading. The reboot of the wall. Did you watch that better worse than Eric Sederhom? Well, your book, nobody is better than someone else. What did you rank Sederhom? Careful. Tum might fight you. Yeah, seven or? I think you said a twin city seven. One city seven. Yeah, that's something. That's like morally absurd. He's a twin city's tent. He's a twin city's 11. Yeah, he's an L8 tent. He's an L8 tent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a man head and 12. I'm a L8. All right. Tommy, Tommy. Let's go round them up. Can I daydream for you?
Imagine, imagine this is February 14th, 2020. You're in a hotel lobby in Chicago and MJ sitting at a couch staring at you. And you and Sederhom are just making out right in front of the girls. Yes. Run past sports is next. Tommy Olson is here. This is the Power Trip. Morning, Sean the fan. From the 1-800-Ask Gary Traffic Center. This report is sponsored by Verizon Business. Good morning. And we'll discuss the game that brought us together because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no. I played with players that didn't. I don't think that they really, truly loved the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. I'm going to make it weird. Someone's going to try to sing, leave get out or too little too late or baby too. Oh, no. And I'm going to be like, okay, cool. I also caught up with Wiley's 267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more. I only would call it cheat day because of life day. I'm not doing that. Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday. No wins, Dave. This is what you do. Sleep later. Make a reservation for the rest of our later. Just chill. Listen to the music you want to listen to. So you want to make sure you, you through and through, and you just stay true to who you are.
Is motivation real talk and practical wisdom for life on and off the run? Listen to Hurdle with Emily Abadi on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is there an epidemic against literature? More specifically, Black literature. Our books are being banned, scanned by AI, and destroyed. I'm Jack Westpeace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit Podcast, we're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern-day writers why. They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, smile waxes, and Martin Luther King's run around. They want to build children who have no empathy. That's really the ultimate goal. We want books that don't make white kids feel bad. So is the war on literacy and information or our ability to connect? Well, people with a know-how sexy reading is that how fun they could be and not always associated with education. It could be in a state, it could be entertainment, and that is the beauty of reading.
It can be all of those things. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, what are you reading next? Listen to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network on our I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Trip is turning 25, and we are celebrating in Las Vegas, joining Corey Hawks, Sauce, and the cast of thousands on November 18th of the 23rd at Circle Resort and Casino. We got live shows, a Friday night bash, purple football at Stadium Swim, book with promo code Power Trip for a special room rate. All the details at kfn.com slash Vegas. All right, T.O. are you ready? Yes. Time now for Front Page Sports, presented by Holiday Station Stores. Now you got it.
We were talking about executions, oh, wow. Very deep. Yeah, the botched one in Tennessee is a fascinating story. Yeah, I read that, man. Just insane. Unbelievable. Yeah, that's, people will get to that later. But we also have a lot of football between now and nine o'clock, because almost every guest we have is football related except for Williams. So while I was able to talk about that later, let's see here. Don't care about that. Don't care about that. We need to discuss this yet. So PJ Fleck rubbed blood on his face on Saturday night slash Sunday morning. Huge win. I know that's getting overshadowed. Let's start with the win and then get to the blood. But let's start with the win. Best we've looked since 2019. I was unbelievable. The Drake finally, finally did what we thought he was going to do. And he has, and if you listen to Jed Fish, their coach came out and said that he had ability to come out and make any play call whenever he wanted because that's how like smart he is now. And he has the ability to audible to any play he wants. And when you have that type of command, like that's like, I'm not, I'm not comparing him
to Brady, but that's what made Brady so good that he could, he had the command to make whatever play call whenever he wanted based on the defense he saw. And when you see Drake do that, you're like, okay, this is the guy. And then he throws darts. And that's the best part about him. This guy has the best arm to ever come through Minnesota. Simple. That like that good. And he could put it together. He'll be a first rounder. But we saw a glimpse of it. That was the most fun. And then up front Greg Johnson went off. Best game I've ever seen as a center, like truthfully dominated. So so exciting. Now I mean, Washington may not be as good as we thought. And Mississippi state's going to be way better than we thought. So those are like different types of wins and losses. But we're four and one or three and one. Maybe that was foreshadowing. We're playing it. We're playing it with house money because I told you guys, I wanted to be three and two after five. I know, but we can't just be okay with now that I agree. I agree. Everybody got to be. Everybody got to say you got to stack it. If you want to make this feel real, you got to stack it because this is not, this is still Michigan, right?
And everybody that that defends Michigan says even a bad Michigan team is so loaded with like NFL talent, maybe haven't figured it out yet. Yep. I understand there's going to be talent across the board at Michigan, but this is a down Michigan team. Yes. So these are the years you have to snipe them 100% if we are truly an up, go for a year. Yep. Right. If this is an above average go for year and this is a below average Michigan year, then you got to snipe them. We got to snipe them and like they are, they're talented. Sure. But I mean, I will beat them. I along with them the whole time. And we're going to just copy exactly how they did it to time of possession, be good at punting. Like the same thing we get against Washington, dominate special teams. You just got to win up front and they're banged up four of their old line and got put in the like now you have to like announce your injuries. So NFL does four of them are on that report. So if we're playing back up alignment and our D line does what they did, who knows? I'm just so excited. I think that like the big thing that we haven't really touched on much is how good our pun
team is. I know this sounds crazy. But you guys remember I will like four or five years ago, they had all American punter. I don't know if you remember that or not. Oh, yeah. That was their best weapon. Yeah, people were like, is the punter for Heisman? Remember that little thing? That's how good our punter is right now. What's his name? I don't even know. No, I don't know. Zach, you know right? It's Brian Erlovsky. Happy birthday. But like you guys, they do this thing. Tom Weston. Is that what it is? From Australia? Yeah. Is that right or not? I think he's an Aussie. I don't know. Like Mark Crawford, Tom Weston, who are these people? Who are these people? I'm just like, I'm trusting AI. You know what I'm saying, hang on a second here. We're looking for the Gover football punter. Yeah, the starting punter. Yeah, that's gotta be Tom Weston. Yeah, Tom Weston number 42 from Perth, Australia. That's about as far away you can get from him. He's a chill dude. That's awesome. Solid mustache based on his photo. So the cool thing that we do, you guys, like for some reason we can get by with him holding
the ball for like an extra second, which gets our gunners all the way down by the goal line. And then it's literally they just punted to him like a pass. It's pretty cool. Like, and then they down it with inside the 10 five times against Washington. And that's like game changing. That's a huge weapon. It's massive. Yeah. You know, and then like to have them drive the length of the field compared to just driving from like their own 25 is huge. So journey by? Oh, yeah, I got an idea for that by the way. For what side note, 25th or 25th anniversary? Hmm. Hmm. Can I just say it on there? Yeah. If it's if it's if it's good, let's keep it off here because then it's we're looking for surprises. Okay. Yeah. Don't done done. I got a good idea for that. Um, well, yeah. So I you're spot on court. Like if not to bring up a glory days, but happily will. 20 2014 Michigan's down here. Go something up. We go there. Just hand the ball to Cobb about 45 times. And you know, you get the jug at the big house. Pretty sick. And they were down that year.
But 10 years ago, you look back at Michigan team. You don't think they're down. So it's like, you know, if you beat Michigan, that's as cool. That's like as cool as it gets. So I the way we do it is the boring way I would did it, you know, dominate time possession when the turnover battle and then have Drake just throw dots. And then we should be all right. The current streak Michigan again, this is according to AI Michigan has five straight wins against the go first. I think it's we haven't beat him since 2014. So we don't play him every year. So maybe that is right. Maybe it is. Yeah, that is right. Again, this is AI. I trust you a lot more than AI. Sometimes when it comes to sports stats, but it does seem to be getting better by the way. It yes. Yes. Do you guys feel that that AI like two years ago had no concept of sports stats? I feel like it's getting better. Yep. So it claims the all time record is Michigan leads 78, 25 and three. Wow. Yep. That sounds about right. The longest winning streak in the series history was 87 through 2004 Michigan won 16
straight times. The longest win streak for Minnesota was nine straight wins from 34 to 42. Glory to us. We were a family. We were. That's my favorite. That's my favorite. Tommy take because it's not wrong. Right. We won three straight. Right. 80 plus years ago, whatever was three straight three in a row. And do you know in the last one we had was in 1960 and we split that with Washington. Coenaddy's. Wow. And that crazy. I love those. But yeah, so I mean, you guys there's there's like a there's a good chance we get this done. Did you guys remember the Halloween game when we got stuff done the goal line in 20s? Oh yeah. 16. Yeah. Two years ago, they should have beat him with that on side kick thing. And it was a false call. And then you look at the one second thing. You're like, there's some homers out at Michigan. Oh, homers. Oh, hey, tell me, but I didn't know this either. But you know, I just said the series all time is 78 25 and three, right? Yeah. That's more than a hundred.
But apparently this is the 100th battle for the jug specifically. Oh, really? That's what that's what the old you know how the matchup says. How the jug started. So on like Minnesota had like water jugs way back in the day. And they accidentally took Michigan's and they go, Hey, you took one of our water jugs and they go, if you want to, you got to win it back. And that's how it started. Oh, yeah. Did not know that. See, this show wasn't a waste of time. We learned something. Yeah. Yeah. So be great. You guys, but I think we got to realize how cool it is that big noons come in here. And I we should be talking about it more. Well, sir, no, hey, on yesterday on common show, one of the guys said it was college game day. Oh, no, no, they're an eye over it. No, anyway, you were saying big noon kickoff is going to be here. Yeah. And line heart and probably possibly the best looking human being that's living today. Brady Quinn. Holy hell. Yeah.
You mentioned this morning, he'll be here. Yeah. And Reggie Bush. You guys. Biggest studs of all time. Like, and they're setting up like, this is what we've always wanted. This is the dream. And we're playing Michigan. We got a lot. We got a lock in. We got a lock in. Yeah, fun. This is going to be all right. What a, all right. What a tease when we come back, we're going to do what really matters. Yes. But the first question I'm going to ask you after the break is what you thought of about PJ Fleck, Revin blood all over his face. Okay. We got that girl. If you want to see a grown man scream the word dog, dog, stick around because Tommy Olson is next. Power trip. Morning, Joe on the fan. Go get Laysick at Ovo, Hellia. Laysick and Lens. Now, before the break, IT's right when we come back. We were going to ask Tommy Olsen about PJ flag rubbing blood all over his face. In the time since that question was teased, Fargo Flash has also joined the Power of Tramorning show.
Great to be here. Flash, Tommy, Tommy, Flash. Massive way. Okay, so now the two of you in Unison, ready? Yes. What did you guys think about PJ flag rubbing blood all over his face? Love. Perfect. Love them. What else you want in a coach? Like seriously, do you want him to not love you like this? I don't love him. He was just a bit. He was just a minor. He was just a minor. He was genuine. He wasn't preconceived, right? It was just in the moment. Correct. Yes. I, I mean, I never seen anyone do that before. No. Brave heartish. Okay, here's my thing. If the, if the new Florida coach that everyone loves right now, right? John Somerow. Yeah, if he did that to one of his players, you'd be like, dog. Great guy. We'd love to play for him. But we're, I just feel like we're too close to PJ that like people wanted to just find something bad with it. He's also want to talk to these fellas about your thoughts. Yeah, what do you think? Paulie, I've saw about 65 tweets about it. I was close this time. I almost bit on some of your trains. Now he, he said yesterday in one of his, in his radio is TV, weekly TV show that he
didn't think the cameras were on him. That's preposterous statement tournament winner right here. I think, I think it takes away from a really good win. And I think when you win a game on the road in a place where who's only one there, flash or how state or an organ 28 and two last five years, you should celebrate that. That should be what everybody's talking about. And hold on. You didn't beat Texas. What's Paulie? Paulie, I got to stop you. You did never. I love you more than life itself. I mean, never wanted to slap you across the face. I'm Paulie. Paulie, think about it. It's a massive win. It's a massive win. All of us should be talking about it. I think even PJ would say though, it has taken from the win. Yeah, yes. That's my only thing.
But it's like an extra. It's like an explanation point on the win. No, I think it is. Everybody, that, that win should be celebrated. No one, they were 13 point underdogs. I talked on the road at 10 at night. That should be so how many road games they win last year? And a row. That should be celebrated. I know, I know. You got a rule, you got at least beat Michigan on half. That's exactly when you got a stack. This is what happens. You got to beat Michigan. No, I would take Minnesota in the five and a half. I think they can at least hang with them or win the game, but you got to beat Michigan. I told you, I told Matt, I told Matt, I talked to Maverick on Monday. He was a name big 10 player the week because he had, he just had the best game of his career just like Greg Johnson. Yes, yes, yes. And I said, Maverick, in 20 years when you're working some gig out in Florida going back home, you were going to, someone's going to go get your name and that's what's going to come up. Yeah, which is this? Yeah. Because it's just gone viral. It's crazy. Everybody's picked it up. Absolutely not. Well, so to the other side of it, he picked what if it's,
you guys, he was on the brand and Walker show like he went, he went viral because of it. He, he what I'm saying, people talked about why did you do it? Because they want and then that puts the gov's on the map. There's no such thing as bad pub. We all should know that better than anything else. I loved it. I think it was great. And I truly, how can he know that the cameras around him? I have his back. I truly do. He was running around. It could be, he was running around crazy because it's, it was the biggest win. Yeah, he went. PJ Flex. He went. He rolled coaching. Did you see the 14 years, see the biggest one? He's wearing at the crowd. Oh yeah. That was so cool. He was effing the crowd. He got caught up in the moment, which is great. Which he should. Yeah. It's so great. And then they're all smoking six. You see that? That's their thing. You guys know that? No, not all the linebackers. So all of them did. Yeah, but like it all started because they wanted to smoke res when they beat Wisconsin, right? Because you're going to smoke res when you beat Wisconsin. Really? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So now after every, now after every dev instead of cigars like Bama, they just do six.
Oh, I'm a double fat. Yeah. We were the cigarettes. Yeah. Yeah. But I think I'm as a, as, as a fan as a fan base, I know it's against the rules. Sorry, Mike, where's Bicki to bring six into the game? Might be worth it. Just bringing in a darn light went up after the game. What in your year? Just all caught up. What's better than having it in the air? Nothing. God. I'm not going to be a fan because you just need to use that as a problem. God, I know six. But what really matters is this, this is for you guys, some college football facts. College football began, excuse me, on November 6th, 1869, when who beat who six four in the first ever game? Reckers beat Yale? Close. The first team's right. Reckers beat Princeton. Princeton. Princeton. It's six four in the first ever game. Good game. Rosie was there. Who was the line up? He bought everybody tickets. Who's two and a half Vegas was off to a hot start.
Oh, I got the tickets to the game on Sunday. Thanks. I bought them. Those are, those are go for glory days. Yeah, just wait. There's more of go for glory days in here. Back then, we were like the Rutgers and the Princeton of college football. All set. It's here's Lee. Downed. 34, 35, 36. Who's the last time? Who's the last team to have a 3P? Go for it. Say less. Dov. Flash. The Michigan Wolverines are at the gopher Saturday 11 o'clock right here on the fan Michigan on draft Kings. Five and a half point favorites. The over under is 43 and a half. Both teams are three and one. The little brown jug. Yes. Never never sat. Never touched it. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. So it's all started with the water bottle. Night. 1904. A fielding Yoast, the head coach of Michigan, travels to I believe was called Northrop field and didn't trust Minnesota to provide clean water. Wow. So he brings his own water bottle for this team, the jug.
It's a little ironic that Michigan is complaining about us not having water. Exactly right. So so Michigan's up mostly game six to zero. Minnesota has a late drive. They tied up six six. There's no extra points back at this point in college football. The crowd storms the field with two minutes to go and they couldn't ever get the crowd to kind of go back to their seats. So they call the game Michigan jumps on the train and they were in and then when the when the dust settles, the jug sitting there. So Minnesota calls their athletic director calls the athletic director for Michigan and says, if you want your jug back, we're going to have to play for it. Well, Michigan was so pissed about the way the fans storm the field and their lost jug that they said, we're not going to play for a couple years. So they played they played two years later and Michigan won the jug back. And then in I think it was 1909 and 1918, Michigan was kicked out of the big 10. Good. Right. So so when you go back and you're like, how could there be, how could this just be the
hundredth time? This is this is the hundredth battle for the little brown jug is because there's a number of years the game wasn't played, but this is it. I can't wait. Great time to win the jug. Stripe out. This is what else you want. And this is a Michigan team that's very beautiful. Elite dude soon. What did it cost to have a phone to make that phone call at that point? I love your story, but where are their phones back then? Sure. I don't know. Well, maybe a bro to telegram. Yes. I want to express. Yeah. Oh, no. But like, you guys, if we win Saturday, go for it, we're going to be ranked, right? If we win, we have to be. We're getting votes, dude. Oh, yeah. So the other thing I read about this is they Michigan had to withdraw from the big 10 because of the brutality of the way they played the game. Like that's how they were so dominant or so physical and playing outside the rules. They had they got kicked out of the big 10. Wow. Hey, good thing we got in the house games like greasy.
Very greasy. Alexander Graham Bell received the first US patent for the telephone, the landline telephone March 7th, 1876. Oh, yeah. How are you? Phone call. Phone call. I must have been an expensive phone. Hey, you feel the nails, you there? Long distance. Longer jug back. God. By the way, and also not just, you know, let's talk the history in the timeline of a phone, but how about our terrible security? Get the fans off the field. What? Dude, I mean, this isn't a rage against the machine concert. This is early 1900s. Let's get orderly students sitting back into the bleachers. What are we doing there? 20,000 people stormed the field. 20,000. So a lot of people. How do you? Why? Twins would kill for 20. Does it tie the game up? Michigan was, Michigan was, was coming to Northrop field on a 28 game win streak. Number one team in the country. Damn. Oh, well, that's why you storm on the field. So before Memorial Stadium, still their jug. Well, is the brick house built, you know? Like our 30s.
Before the run. Yeah. That's damn sweet. Yeah. We all grew in Northrop field. Yeah, we did. Because we're Bama. Yeah. What? So the big house. Never mind. Are you taking Bernie Behrman? Are you taking Nick Sabin? Sabin. Ah, I don't know. Okay. The wild regular season opener is tonight. I guess that counts. Yeah, sure. What really matters is I thought we were going history the telephone, but sure. What really matters is this? The Associated Press started its weekly rankings in 1936 with Minnesota finishing as the first ever number one team. Yeah. Hell yeah. Thanks, Paulie. He was really good today. He was right. That's great. Think of that. Number one in the nation. What year? 30. 36. That was probably it. That was the last of the three. That was the last of the three. God. God, we were good. Who was the coach? Bernie. Bernie Behrman. Yeah. Good. Good.
Sweet. Who was like, that was, he was on those teams. Was that Broncos days? I think that was Bronco, but Bernie would coach with this because they're outside of course. It's long, like bear fur. Yeah. It's hot. Like head to toe jacket. God. I should be Bernie for Halloween. Yes, you should. Bernie Lomax or Bernie Mac. Yeah. The wild regular season opener is tonight, seven o'clock at Nashville right here on the fan year home from Minnesota, wild hockey. No Brock favor, skull fracture, when he was not signed, Dylan Larkin, someone Detroit. Hmm. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? Hmm. I probably shouldn't have used that joke as Brock as a skull fracture. Yeah. That's okay. Sheepers. Yeah, jeepers, Katie. It'll be fine. Well, that's fun. Zach, we're going to be good this year. Yeah. Of course we will. That's skull fracture, very carefully. I guess. Yeah. But he had surgery.
It would be fine. What do you use? Like glue duct tape, some gorilla glue. What they do? Seth. Um, well, I'm not a doctorences. Thank God. Can I turn to your turn. It's your turn what really matters is this, the Rose Bowl. Duke hosted the 1942 Rose Bowl in Durham, North Carolina, making it the only time the game was played outside Pasadena and this was due to World War II safety concerns. Wow. That's a good, that's a good question. That's really good. Paul, I really like these. What about it? It wasn't about a question, it was the same. Now I feel bad for saying I'd slap you in the face so I feel bad. What did I do? Why are they laughing? No, because I, I was in a rush trying to Google about the skull fracture procedure and the Google search just says, how do surgery work on broken skull, Julian?
Spell check, sauce. Sauce, yeah. Pasadena is in what state? Pasadena, California. The University of Duke is found in what state? North Carolina. Why was North Carolina more safe than California during World War II? Because of the, I would guess the Pearl Harbor attack. Who was involved in World War II? The United States. Good start. And everybody, that's why it's called World War. Boom, Rose. Oh, world. Yeah, thanks, Zacho. You're roasted, you're awesome. Yeah, thanks, Maxo. You put you on a platter. When you're right, you're right. Yeah. Yeah. Pittsburgh at Cleveland tonight for Thursday night, football, the Steelers are two and one, the Cleveland Browns are two and one. Yeah. Sean Watson five touchdowns, one interception, Aaron Rogers four touchdowns, two interceptions. Both teams two and one. Like I mentioned, Pittsburgh is two and a half point favorite.
Thirds at night, football tonight. Yeah, be watching the world. Maybe. Yeah. What really matters though is this, Fordham and Wayne's Burg played in the first ever televised college football game in 1939. God, who would have watched that game? Rosie. Yeah. What else was on? Would you say Wayne State? What was it? Wayne's Burg. Wayne's Burg. Sounds like a made a place that you're just, correct. Yeah, that's why I read it. Yeah, we're just Garlar live in Wayne's Burg. We're just bought live in Wayne's Burg. He's Wayne now. Yeah. Flash. Yeah. Alabama at number 16 Mississippi State, 11 o'clock on Saturday. You got number five Ohio State at number 14 Iowa. You have number eight Florida, number 25 Missouri. We have multiple top 25 matchups this weekend. Yeah. When Ben gets in, we'll talk about the game that we have decided to pick.
It's a Ohio State Iowa. I won't tell you who's taking who. But they're all it's interesting. You have three top 25 matchups. You have three home team underdogs. I think the darling right now of college football is kind of Florida as well as Mississippi State. Obviously, we saw Mississippi State. But the Kielan Russell, the quarterback for Alabama, who is in his first year as a starter, was awful when he first got, you know, first cut in as it was the second game of the year. But man has that kid improved. So good. He's so good. So just, you know, so, Bama feels like to me that they've rebounded. So I'm, you know, Mississippi State is a great story. And I watched, I've watched the kid every game since, you know, they crushed the golfs. And in particular, last week, you know, versus Missouri, they, you know, they gave up a lead, relatively late in that game. But then he brings the team back. He's just so calm in the, in the pocket. So it should be a great game. I'm taking Bama minus five and a half.
And then I don't think anyone in the country is playing better than Florida. No, it's unbelievable. I love them. They have that Jordan, Bob or Jaden, Bob running back. There's kind of in the conversations for the Heisman. They have the, the, the Filo, the quarterback, the transfer. Filo! Or to tag. Corp, brilliant. So I like to, so I, I think, I think Florida covers. Florida's back. They're so cool. I love them. I love the points of game, dude. I love that coach more than anything. So I did do it. And then Ben and I will talk about a, oh, how's the table a little bit? Iowa, but college game day for the third time ever back in Iowa City. Yeah. I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no. I played with players that didn't.
I don't think that they really, truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps. And I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. I'm Jack Weiss-Peace Thomas and on this season of the Black Lit podcast, we're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern day writers why.
They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, smock them access and martin with the Kings on their own. They want to build children who have no empathy. That's really the ultimate goal. We want books that don't make white kids feel bad. So is the war on literacy and affirmation or our ability to connect? Well, people with a know-how sexy reading is that how fun they could be and not always associated with education. It could be in a state, it could be entertainment. And that is the beauty of reading. It can be all of those things. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, what are you reading next? Whether you're stepping up to the starting line of a marathon or just trying to take the first step toward a big, scary goal, the conversation in your head is usually the same. All right, welcome back, Power Trip Morning Show, Fargo Flash is here, Justin Genzimia, Tommy Yolson is here because big boy job, your flight got switched a little bit and boom, you're here. I can't wait. I'm right to the airport after this. You're off to work after this. Right after this. Going where again, where's this one? Tulsa. Tulsa. I'm saying extra, extra pretty good. Southern bells. Last time we went there, we actually went to, um, yeah, I, you can't make it up. We went to a gay bar actually when we were there last time and I'm not even joking. All right, sauce, you owe me $2,500. I want that, that. Nope. No, Tulsa is great. Dude, so when I was first here at Clear Channel, now it's I Heart. I fell asleep at a meeting once and then accidentally agreed to move to Tulsa and start my career at Tulsa just because I fell asleep. If they needed somebody to take over like the Tulsa branch and I like, oh my God.
And then I had to tell my wife that I was moving to Tulsa, total freaking nightmare. And I picked up smoking again. Keep going. No, I don't. Paul, your hands up. Rosie's not here to April. Hey, hey, speaking of April, are you going to come to April? I'm coming to my master's party this year in April. Yeah, yeah. No, so hang on. Just so I'm clear on this. On Thursday, October 1st of 2026, you're asking the Power Trip Morning Show if we're going to show up to your master's party. Well, we got to get on the counter because you guys don't come if I asked you a three months before. You got a Halloween coming up. I guess that's my point though. That's my point though. That's my point. Is if you ask me like, let's say you weren't going to Tulsa, which again, I used to work at. I don't know what that's from. It's from one of three things. Friends, friends, friends, friends. So. I don't think they mentioned Tulsa a lot in jaws. I think Jaws was the bar that Tommy went to with friends.
With friends. What was I talking about? I know if we both had our afternoons open and you're like, hey, you want to hang out today? I'd be like, buddy, I got a nap, man. Yeah. You can't get us to commit to things today. Let alone half a year away. You love major golf. I do love major golf. Golf betting is the best bettion. It's not even close. This year we're having the Masters party the weekend before to kick off the Masters party because we found out we don't watch the Masters one. It's, you know, you're just there at party. It's the kick off the kick off the week. That's what we're doing. So then everybody can just go home and watch the Masters on their own terms. So that makes a lot more sense. Yeah. Best ever. The best. Well, let's not look too far ahead because this is birthday month. That's correct. How do we have to over by the way? Best month of the year's not close. May second. But like if you do, I know you guys, I put everyone I literally said on the invites it's saying all the power trips got me. This is for the birthday game game. The game tailgate.
Yeah, so I'll be there just a friendly reminder. We have an Airbnb that's going to be off coma right by mannings and then we're going to go the go for house, right? The go for house. Yeah. So we haven't go for house for going there. We're having a house party. We just haven't done a seven talk. We haven't. I said the formal invites because we don't know the actual kickoff yet. Right. But once we do, I'm going to send you guys all the timing and it's a maroon out so you have to wear maroon. Presence earn highly encouraged. I do as far as I'm not. Tommy still needs a 529. You're right. What really matters though is this the largest blowout in college football, Georgia Tech defeated the Cumberland College 222 to nothing in 1916. Pull the starters late. You know, Georgia Tech had a run like go for a day. I did not know that. No 20. Yeah, 2222. Yeah, whatever it takes.
Yeah. Probably running time in the fourth. I'd have to think. Yeah. Wow. They must have scored on every play. I hope we have running time this week when we blow out Michigan. Oh. The Pittsburgh Steelers are trading Joey Porter, junior to Dallas for a 2027 sixth round pick and a 2028 second round pick. He's had a contract problem with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They couldn't come to an agreement. So JPJ on his way to Dallas. Because Dallas is trying to make a run, right? They think they're playoff fish. Yeah. I mean, Jerry's always trying to make a run. So he doesn't have a lot of patience. Go ahead and Jerry's house next Thursday night. What are you? Who's playing? Buck and ears at Cowboys. Oh, wow. That's cool. That Buck and ears are going to be lifeless. Yeah, they'll be. Yeah, because they play the pack this week and they're starting. The bucks are starting a undrafted rookie. Can't pick out from Kansas. Yep. Yeah. Hitty is. But what really matters? Go ahead.
No, I'm just going to say Jerry's world's massive. We don't know. Sure. So Buck and ears Cowboys Thursday. Red River shootout Saturday. Oh, you're going to take a fair. Yeah, a fair. That's super cool. Yeah, that's Texas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma. Oklahoma looks awful. Yeah. Yeah. Have you guys talked about the Texas player celebrations last week at all? The guy that you were in Asian bit early and the other one loved it. What was the other one? The guy that rubbed his crotch. Yeah. Smelled it and passed out. Didn't see that. Which actually that is how it's described on ESPN this morning as well. Because their AD came out and said he was said he was upset with the celebrations. Congratulations. So. So a guy pretended to put his like, and then pretended to pass out based on his own smell. So quick, the rest didn't see it, but it was played back by every TV replay. Our class in your thoughts, Fargo. Goat.
I think he's just, I think if you remove the name, I don't know if we would talk about arch many in the way we do. There's a lot of great quarterbacks right now in college football. Well, we were just saying, hey, yeah, don't say because I want Tommy to guess him. Let me get the match game music going Zachary. Hell yeah. I just, um, you guys were gone. I was talking to. So check this out, Tommy. Yeah. So Flash, you said yesterday, and ESPN, right? Yep. Was it, is this ESPN insider's voting or was it one person ranking? Who was doing this ranking before? I think a collective group of ESPN. So Tommy, let's say ESPN, collective group of college football, quote, experts or journalists. Yeah. Largely using statistics. Sure. But still we're ranking college football quarterbacks across the board, one through infinity, right? Yeah. Where do you think they had go for a quarterback, Drake Lindsey? If not, I have not on this year. So far this season, based on four games. I mean, collective group. Where did ESPN dot com did it?
This is probably, I mean, it's a loaded class. We know that power, power for only quarterbacks, which make up 65, 23rd. It is incorrect. I mean, try again. You're not in the ballpark. I'm not. Nope. Seventh. You're going the wrong way. Fifty-one. Now in the into and in the justification. ESPN's dead to me. And it is. So remove the action. No, but the just. What they're saying, which I can't argue with them on this on this point is the lack of explosive place. But I but I'm. But he fished. Get the job. I think wasn't he 18 to 20 at one point? He wasn't. Jesus. Jesus. Do you think that we're going to need a Saturday?
We need the same because of the pressure that you get from the front seven to Michigan, especially that front four. I think there's number seven in the country in terms of pressures on the quarterback and sex. The front sevens real deal. So it is a, if you study of the tape, I would do it. 250 yards. It's a short, quick passing game. Get in your drop. Yes, you're in a shotgun. You got to get the ball out of your hands to the receivers quickly. So the whole idea of chewing the clock, not really through the ground game. It's through a short passing game. But you're right. You pound the football through the air ironically. No, you do. You shoot the clock. You get enough first downs. You make field goals when you don't get to the red zone. And then offense, offensively for Michigan, you got a hammer playing playing quarterback. It's a monster. Just like last week, you just like the Viking Sunday split, split, split, split, split and contain. Yep. And then on the outside, you got Aiden West and Nestor. The Nestor. Top two corners in the country.
Nestor, the number one corner in the country. Number one. Press man coverage. Yeah, God. Just you see it clear. 2017 Goaths. Yes. TJ Thomas is going to spill with some runs. He's explosive. Yes. His legs are fresh. Can't find him running back. TJ Thomas. Five. I mean, you follow Greg's butt and then literally put your one foot in the ground north and south. You're averaging 12 years. You take a deep breath. No, ESPN needs to get off. They've archbanging ranked 29th. Yeah. Now that's right. Yeah. Who's first? The two from Miami are shameless. Miami. Miami guys. Miami guys. Freak. Then CJ Carr to do more. Drop because of last week. Uh, shameless is four. Camario Taylor is five. Dante Moore is hanging on one of us. He's not dead. Can I ask a college football really question? 21. 21. Wow. If Notre Dame goes undefeated and LSU loses three times, what do you think Notre Dame's better team?
Notre Dame plays nobody. Yeah. That's what I mean. Except for. USC late. Right. I mean, that doesn't really matter. Well, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. People out come Berlin, yeah. So did Tommy. Uh, more of the Power Drop Morning Show Ben Lieber will be here in a second. Fargo flashes here. Tommy Oson is here. Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists every Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. The miles change how you move, but more importantly, they change how you show up for your life. I'm Emily Abadi. On the hurdle with Emily Abadi Podcast, I sit down with the lead athletes, record holders, coaches, and everyday runners to unpack the mindset behind pushing through when things get tough. Because the discipline, grace, and grit you build out there on the pavement, that's what helps you show up as your best self everywhere else. I just love to say I never know who's watching, so you want to make sure you, you, through and through, and you just stay true to who you are. Listen to hurdle with Emily Abadi on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And I'm former US ones national soccer team player, Carly Lloyd. And on our new podcast, whatever it takes, nothing is off limits.
I played with players that didn't truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps and love it and embrace it. Listen to whatever it takes with Carly Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
