The Go Birds podcast is sponsored by Ashley America's number one furniture and mattress store. Vony on a Marion one for one. This is in my opinion the number one California song. I mean it's probably number one. I'm I like my song better. Yeah, I think this is my favorite. I like California love personally more. But I think this is the goat. Cal. Good song. Yeah, great great job, Vony. Awesome awesome song. And we'll see. I don't think she'll get my. Vony now that I know what Elliott says. If you get his song, it will be the single most surprising thing maybe that is ever happening at WIP. Elliott's is a deep specific. If you know Elliott, you could be like, oh, I get it. But like he could have given me a thousand guesses. So here's what do if she doesn't get it for the next one, I'll give her a clue. Okay, I like that. I like that. The very end worst case we can just pull it up in the exact moment and play every minute. But we'll get his song in if anyone's guesses on that, you know, feel free. So do one five five nine two nine four nine four. Tell you James go birds right here from the beautiful huge Ashley furniture store in
Cherry Hill. We are hanging out. It's their summer slam dunk. Save not summer. Ain't summer anymore. No, I feel outside. It feels like it. Yeah, but outside it's like getting a little chilly. It's rain. Thankfully. Anyway, slam dunk savings event. 20% off all furniture. They've got a cash cube. They've got all kinds of drawings for prizes. We were before here. It's like, oh 200 bucks here. Dude, I saw someone with 750. Yeah, some like Ashley money or this. I know there's all kinds of stuff going on here. So coming out and of course the big news, Tyrese Maxi is on root on the way. And it's not long drive really. No, it should be here. Yeah, the not distant future. Someone I just talked to in the break was at the scrimmaging. Yes. And honestly, like, you know, we're used to seeing a lot of Eagles here at the events we do when we do events. Yeah, a lot of six or stuff. It's it's a little free view of what this fall is going to be awesome. I mean, I'm looking at a guy in a LeBron James Jersey. That's freaking awesome. I need. It's very cool. All right, 2-5-5-9-2-94. So all that on the table. Coming back to the phones in a minute and again coming out. We're with you till three buzz coming up after that.
Talking birds, I'm sure it fillies on. But Elliott backs the phones in a sec. But I tease him for the break. I'm a kind lemon thing. And Joe and Jersey, I believe, was a car who pointed out that lemon. You know, they need a big game from lemon. I think it was Joe. And I had the same thought coming in. Obviously it's not, you know, it's a prize. But you know, there are three receivers who played the most this year in Devonte Wix and Dantavia and Wix and and lemon and then Cooper a little bit after. The one news, the number one guy who's out is Devonte. Like everyone has to step up. Everyone's going to matter more. Get more opportunities. Lemon, two catch last game. Look, you know, it's best game so far just in terms of some production. And to your point, you know, open a fair amount of time when rewatching. What were your thoughts on lemon after obviously an ugly training camp? Preseason, first couple of games like maybe some signs for optimum some last week. Yeah, so I think with with Mackay, because you just said it there, like there's been three receivers that have played a ton. And Mackay obviously has by far the worst production of the three. The reality is the third receiver in this offense is never going to put up huge numbers.
They don't throw it in on the dog's own. Exactly. Yeah, so for me, the the concern with Mackay has never been the production. It's just been like the eye test, right? But last week rewatching the game, obviously watching it live too, but better chance to really key in on Mackay on the rewatch. I thought it was the first time I've seen in an Eagles uniform. Mackay looked the part of like, okay, I can kind of see what they're like, why they drafted and what they're doing here. I thought he had a really nice catch early on. There were two plays where I think if Jalen throws it to him, he could have honestly had almost a hundred yards. Jalen throws it to him on those two plays. So one of those plays he threw it to Devante for a completion. So I get it. But going into the game tomorrow, like the Rams are banged up too. They're missing Jalen Watson. They're starting outside corner. They're going to move some guys around. A manual Forbes is probably going to be on the outside. Who these people know well. They people know well. And again, no Donald and Miles Garrett. If you're nowhere in Donald and Miles Garrett, we knew Garrett was out. But if you had an or Donald, it was like this morning was announced out for you. Yeah, almost, I mean, obviously I'm not following the Rams injuries closely.
Seemingly I didn't know where. Yeah, everyone's like, you played great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think with Mackay tomorrow, like Devante is not playing, right? So you're going to be the number two receiver in the pecking order. I'm curious to see how he does. Like, where does he line up? Does he line up on the outside? Do they put a third receiver on the outside? Do they feel confident in him on the outside? Is the only lineup in the slide? Is it like Cooper Brown outside? Yeah, or Elijah Moore. How many? Well, he's out. Oh, he's out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it won't be him. Yeah, man. But I think there is Cooper, Elijah Moore could obviously see more playing. They're going to have to. But I'm just excited to see what Mackay can do tomorrow. The Rams defense is good, but their secondary is banged up. So again, with Mackay tomorrow, you don't have to see 85 yards. You don't have to get a touchdown. But I think tomorrow could be the first time where you could go, all right. Let's see two or three plays where you're like, this is why this guy was a first round pick. So Devley going into the game tomorrow. Very excited to see what he's going to look. Me too. It's one of my things I'm most looking forward to, especially because to your point, look. I get it. The training camp, people around, not all this stuff. And the bubble screens have been just bad.
Like, exceptionally, you know, philosophically, all of it. But in the last two games, he had that nice catch for the on the long third down in Tennessee. And he had those two first down catches against Chicago. Like, if nothing else, we talked so much about Jalen being a quarterback who really needs to trust guys to develop trust. And as a guy, Lamine who missed a lot of the preseason, never played with Jalen stuff. I think like making those catches and getting big first downs on third downs and all that stuff, like can only help in a spot like this where Jalen is going to have to find a way to trust. And I understand why it's perceived this way. But I feel like when people talk about, well, Jalen doesn't trust Mackay. Like, that's a shot at Mackay or he doesn't think Mackay is good or he doesn't. He's like, I think personally in this case, like I do think there's instances where saying the quarterback doesn't trust someone is a commentary on the receiver's talent. But I think with Mackay, he just hasn't played with Mackay a lot. Like he surprised. He's targeted him. He's like, he has. He didn't play with them really in the off season much. I know they got work on their own, but I'm talking about practices.
And then in training camp, Mackay missed almost half the training camp. So I do think that part of it is like, yeah, he's going to throw it to Devonte. When the choice is Devonte or Mackay Lemon, he's going to throw it to Devonte. I understand that choice. But with Devonte out tomorrow, I think there's a chance for Mackay to maybe get this going a little bit. All right, 25, 59, 29, 29, 24, 94 to chime in on all this. We're with you till three. Want to get to his many calls this segment as we can. So let's start it out. Now or two where we do everything we get this time. Let's go to Vancouver and talk about it. Ready Tom. Yo Tom. Hello, gentlemen. Hello, gentlemen. A little bit of a taking off speaker there. It sounds like that was like tray turner. That's the speech. The figure issue that we were just going to find out that that's why part of the reason is that we are going to be like a finger issue, be a sign of a hundred million dollars to play a position where the two get the body or go up quickly and throwing it as I just forgot. I got it now. Fat fingers.
Fat finger issues. Yes. So, gentlemen, I've got to say that Vancouver does not have a major league baseball team at all. So we don't have a basketball. Well, you're like at all. Not even like close to one. Yes. Some would see that on else. I guess the closest team to you. Right? Seattle, the Mariners, closest team, I guess. Yeah, that's right. So, you know, I mean, look, I was really disappointing the Phillies too, but, you know, at least you got a team. That's. Give me the news. What? At least that is great. There is a team. Well done. What you got? Yeah, I mean, you used to have the basketball team once about a time. Shout out to the gris. Yeah. Good throwbackers. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Well, you guys have a map. You know what you're doing here. Yeah. Yeah. He's going to be here soon. So, I never thought you'd mind Tommy. What you got on the birds? So, okay, leading green nation, there was a film breakdown that I thought was interesting. Like, one of the few concepts that they were saying seemed to work was the pistol.
So, you know, for everybody, Jalen Schocken and then the backs behind him. So, given the lack of tight end depth, and I'm wondering if Manion should be thinking more about using, to running back sets using, and also using the pistol more, which might help with the issue of Schocken versus under center. Yeah. So, usually don't have that again. Next is no question. No, no, no, look, so I think it's an interesting week to bring it up, right? Because last year, you saw the Rams get banged up at receiver and what did they do? They started running multiple tight end sets. He got creative and how he was using the tight ends. It was super successful and it's now become a trend across the league. So, the reason I bring that up is when you're down people, it requires the coaches to get creative, right? Like, in training camp, I can't tell you, I could probably count on one hand and not use many fingers. How many times I saw them run a pistol in training camp or have two running backs on the field. But you know what? Like, when you're down Devante, when you're down Goddard, it does require some creativity. I think the tough thing is, this is already a team that struggles to even kind of run like the basic stuff they've practiced with pre-snap penalties and all that stuff.
So, I think a benefit to Ramsad last year, the Rams were one of the least penalized teams in the league. So, that allowed them to try different things because they could get creative because they were a good team overall. I think with the Eagles, I like the idea of what you're saying. I think tomorrow could be the time for like a trick play or doing something creative. But they are right now struggling to even run the basic stuff clean. So, if you try to get creative, that's how turnovers happen, that's how getting behind the sticks happen. So, I like the idea. I just, I think there's some potential pitfalls in it. Okay, so on the other side of the ball, I've got another related question and then I'll go. Jeff McClain, he had an interesting point about the Rams being able to use three tight ends and such and use an unconventional way to spread them out in the field. And I'm thinking with bomb out, then we got Trot Jumour, Jr., which we're all excited to see. But he's going to take on more of a communication role. We still have a safety position that's unsettled and all the rest of it.
What the heck is Vicks supposed to do? The extra bodies in the box, Stafford's going to attack the coverage. But if he stays lighter, then Carter and David has to control the run. And we're putting a lot on them and they have not performed today. Hey, Tyler, great call. Yeah, great call. What do you make of that? I mean, I think it's a problem. They're going to use tight ends. Just to that specific point, one of the great things McVeigh does is finding weaknesses and defensive points on it. Now, the tough thing is they're also getting puked back. So they have good receivers. I would say, I'm not the defensive mind, Vickas. But Cooper can do some of the things that you ask a linebacker to do in coverage. He's also very good against the run. I do believe one of the Rams tight ends is questionable. So maybe they'll be down one. And their third receiver turns Ferguson is out. Yeah, they have two to out. But like to his point, yeah, I mean, the players need to play well. And I think Vick, like the offense is going into this game, short-handed. But yeah, like you want to, you know, you want to be one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. Do something creative against this offense. We're doing the post game pod and going, that's why Vick's a great team.
Well, especially coming off, you know, like we talked about one of the all-time Vick Fangio just getting one of the worst. Yeah, by and they're different in the way they call the games, but like a similar scheme-ish type of game. Between Johnson and McVeigh. It's going to be a big spot for Vick. You're right. Let's go back to the phones. Let's go to Pittsburgh and talk to everybody Alex Alex. Hey, what's up guys? What up, how you doing, man? Yeah, it has been a while. Good to hear from you. Yeah, I haven't called you guys since before this season. I know that sounds crazy. Oh, well. Yeah, the first month flew by flew. Yeah, flew by a little bit. And also, to be honest with you, like I don't. It felt a little hollow the first two weeks. And I think that that, you know, we three day. Oh, I don't know. The Eagles could look back and go. They would kill for those two weeks. Depending on how tomorrow and next week. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you know, I'll win the win. Like that, that for sure is always going to be what matters. But I have it. Like I go to maybe one game a year.
I said the last game I was at was that Black Friday game. Somehow they looked worse this year. And I don't even know why and why. Like I feel that way and how to explain it. But like it was that first drive, I think when I think it was birdie. Like caught it like pushed them in the charge toward the end zone just push like Yeah, like three. You defend it. Like that just set the tone to the defense day. Well, it's also it's such like it would be like, you know, to use the sixers. Since Tyrese is about to be here. It'd be like, if all week we said you have to prioritize stopping the three pointer. And on the first play the sixers gave up a three pointer. All week we said you have to be the more physical team. You can't get out physical like you did the week before. It's a major key. The players talked about it. And then the first drive of the game they literally get out physical and pushed into the end zone. From by the way, not even a short distance. Like you don't see many times a player is pushed in from six yards out. So I think it's a great point. What I think I texted my dad and brother was they got, you know, coming off that Black Friday game.
They got bullied, tricked and just like out executed all all in that first drive. And it just felt like 100% yeah anyway. The only other thing I wanted to say is Tyrese Maxi. I'm sure he's very tall, but like isn't BLG like five inches taller than him. Anyway, how are you? Yeah, you're the best. It is going to be fun to see Maxi in there. I said this on the pie, but like he always looks so small compared to the people who are on the court with. But like compared to you and me is probably like a giant. So yeah, well, the only thing I would say about last week in terms of why it maybe felt worse than the Black Black Friday game. Now I understand it was also just a worst game. Like the fact it was case Keenum. Yeah, you can't overlook that. Keenum played awesome, but going into that game, there was so much confidence they would win because it was a quarter back. And he torched them. Yeah, he was light out. He was like one of the great and he actually did play a quarter back performances against a Nick Seriani Eagles team. You're like regardless of star. That's my boy. Yes, I'm saying right any quarter back.
They face. I'm up in that press box. I'm watching the throw and I'm like, where's this going? We talked about the one where he did the little like fake thing and then whipped his arm around. Yeah, he was running to it like it that he was awesome. It also shows though, like we could you can go into a game being like they're definitely going to lose it. Totally. It's a great point. Jalen can be special tomorrow and all of a sudden it doesn't matter. Can you get a couple turnovers or something in it swings? And look, one thing we have mentioned the Rams yet again every year have a disastrous special team's group. Yeah, so you know, win on the margins. 215, 5, 9, 2, 9, 4, 9, 4. Let's keep it going. Let's go to the Northeast and talk to McKenna. Hey, McKenna. Hey, what's up? What's up, McKenna? You hear me? I'm off speaker for now. Yeah, that was such a smooth transfer. That was very well. I'm like Tray Turner and Tom and Ben Cooper. I try, I try. So I'm actually right now I live out of state, but I'm back home because my sister's about to give birth. And the argument that I always come up without a state is Jalen Hertz, right? So my argument with Jalen Hertz is why is he one of the best is because he's the only thing that's been consistent in his career is his head coach Nick Sireani.
But he's had five different offensive coordinator. I mean, for people that play football, you understand how hard it is to learn a playbook. The people that don't play football and fans, it's impossible. Yeah. It's hard to just play that position period like more than any other sport in the sport. First of all, like bearing the lead, congrats to your sister. Yes, right? Just kind of move around. Sorry, that was a lot of ones. No, yeah, it was. But I mean, you're right. Like Jalen has had to deal with a lot of different offensive coordinators. Now, it's not been a drastically different offense every year. But in terms of having a new voice in your ear every season, not getting chemistry with somebody, those things certainly matter. You just need to, you know, I always have said for years with the Brady and Breeze or whoever where it's like, I can't play some, they've seen everything. It's like, yeah, they've seen everything. Right. Like, you need, like, I know most quarterbacks don't get all the time and you need to produce to get time. But like, the more you see, the more you have reps with this split, that split, this defense, that's even like, you just, you instinctually know what you're seeing more and become better than that. Yeah, and it's early, but I think the concerning thing with Jalen through three games would be all off season it was,
well, can you run this new offense, which is like under center play action throwing over the middle, and they've been bad at all three of them. Now, I don't care because I'm not obsessed with this new offense way everyone else is, but I do think going into this year, those with three questions about him and he's not done a good job with them. Yeah, and I guess what you're going to that argument is now you're, you're still so early enough in the season, right? And the only consistency you have throughout this is Nick Serionis. The Nick Serionis, you've been through it, you've seen the good, and you've seen the best. So what you need to do is a head coach is step in, and if you can't, like, what you've been doing, I feel like the offensive corner is going called the beginning of the games, right? And it starts to work and I do feel like something changes in the second half. And I don't know if that's Nick Serionis, I don't, we don't know, right? But my thing is, as a head coach now Nick, if you see what's working and what's not, you've been in the league, you know your player, through what works for him and have, have each other's back. Yeah, and I think what's interesting about the adjustment thing, because in the first half, they have one of the best offenses in the league, in the second half, they have one of the worst offenses in the league. And part of that is adjustments, right? Last year, everybody blamed Kevin Pettulo. This year, they're just as bad at it. And Sean Manion is a young, I mean, couldn't almost be younger offense coordinator.
But Nick has been a super winning head coach, he's been to two super bullies, he's been a coach for, this is his six year, I guess, like, they, he should be able to step in and help there. So I agree that the way they fall off from the first to second half is, is absolutely on Nick and I know. Those are the two people, yeah. And I think like everyone wants to say is like, yeah, we see the back and like, whatever the plays aren't working, but any of the day is you have the ability. Maybe we have some guys out this weekend, but any of the day you still have one of the best wide receivers to tell you the end of running back to the league. You've never out think a part of football is adjusting to other teams, and you figure out what works, and you figure out what pushes that horse, and you keep going. Hey, McKenna, again, congrats to your sister, but don't just call us more often. You can call from wherever, great call, okay? Yeah, thank you guys so much, and guys, guess what, I'm at the game tomorrow. Go birds! Go birds! Love that, great call from McKenna. Say it, be fun for her. Great stuff, yeah, right? You know, good thing. All right, 2-5, 5-9-2, 94-94. We got about 40 more minutes.
We want to get to as many calls we can talking, Eagles ramps, so many fascinating angles to the game. So we're going to continue to take calls next. Plus Tyrese Maxxies, Arrival, where the Cherry Hill, where the Ashley in Cherry Hill is Arrival is imminent. He's on route, should be here soon. Coming out, we'll tell you more about their slam dunk savings event coming up next segment, but so many prizes to win cash. People all kinds of awesome stuff, so come pop a shot. It's awesome, all right, and again, we'll continue to take your calls as well. It's Ellie, it's James, it's Givertrey. So this is not Ellie at so long? It's not my choice, but I kind of like it. What is it? I don't know it, yeah, what is this song? And Miley Cyrus, maybe? Miley Cyrus, Malibu. Oh, look at that pull. I like Miley Cyrus, but you're not the song. Great, she got some hangers, yeah. I think she was trying to guess yours. She was, yes. It will look, I like the pack. What was that? Ellie will give you a hint before the break. We'll make sure we get to that. Two on five, five, nine, two, nine, four, nine, where Tyrese Maxxies should be here very soon, it seems. We are at the Ashley in Cherry Hill, amazing deals on furniture. The best furniture, Magistor in America.
We got a lot to tell you about their summer. Slam dunk saving, it keeps things summer, because I mean, it's summer. Slam dunk here, Tyrese Maxxies, slam dunk savings event coming up in a little bit, but coming out. Someone in the awesome spot, yeah. Someone in the break made a great point. We were just chatting with a bunch of people. Yeah, it made a great point though. There's no better place to wait in line than a first one. Yeah, it was like, I, it's the best. Everyone's just chilling on the couch. Yeah, there's prizes. He's like, there's games away. They got pop a shot. Yeah, awesome, awesome times are coming out. All right, two on five, five, nine, two, nine, four, and nine, four, again, we'll tell you more about that coming up. Maxxies is going to be here soon, but that's enough of us. We've talked enough. Let's get to as many calls as we can over the last 30 minutes to show buzz coming up next. And let's talk to one of my favorites, our guy Brian in middle time. Brian, are you been, buddy? Hey, wonderful guys. Thank you so much for taking my phone call. Always the pleasure to talk with you when I get a chance. Oh, good. Thanks for waiting, man. No problem. I'll quickly be quiet. Before I deal with the Eagles, I would let you know I was actually in Atlanta. I was at that game one. My son lives in Atlanta. So I was visiting.
I was a great baseball game, bummer of a loss, but it was a great game. When Jake, you really mute your hip that extra bass hit, I just thought it was a game. Yeah, I think the crazy things you're on, Durand, actually got five of the six outs. I know. I know, man. It's funny for him being one of the best players. Certainly his postseason performance. I said that he did. Yeah, it was bad, managing at times and all that. I thought that was the right decision, but like he, last year and this year, like, I think Durand's great, but in two big spots, he's failed. It's also funny. That's probably Tom Browski's best move. And he's direct. Los Art Luzartich. Yeah, true. Yeah, I'm actually good deadline, but you're right. Like I think he has, you know, caused some of the time the past two pros seasons. Yeah. Yep. Thank you, Joe. Yep. So we'll see about that. And that's enough about the Phillies. What do you got to do, you know, Brian? Let's talk about the birds. Look, there's no bigger jail in Hertz fan than me. I love jailing. I love his leadership. But is there anything wrong with me wanting a more prolific passing attack? Like that's the really frustrating thing about this. And, you know, I know the combination Nick Sireon and General Hertz, they've been very successful.
But, you know, in a matter of fact, I was looking back, I was thinking back like, when Brian Johnson was office of coordinate, I thought General Hertz had more, more prolific passing games, you know, I'm thinking about the ball, the game against the Buffalo Bills, I think it's a washing command. Is there a washing prolific? I'm talking about, can we get a 300 yard passing game with like maybe three or four touchdowns? Like, we never get that. It's funny looking back at the Brian Johnson offense, the offense here. It actually, the offense itself wasn't as bad as I think we remember it. They just turned the ball over a lot. I think Jalen might have had 15 interceptions that year or something like that. Like, they had turnover problems. In terms of being a prolific passing offense, I just, I don't know if they'll ever be a prolific passing offense with Jalen at quarterback because of how he plays the position and how Nick coaches. Like, they prioritize taking care of the ball. I don't think it's coincidence. The last year you bring up where they were prolific offense is when they turned it over a lot. They didn't win a playoff game that year. And then the next year they were not a prolific passing offense, but they won the Super Bowl. So looking at how they want to do it, I just think Jalen likes throwing to the sidelines.
He's a great deep ball thrower. There's less danger on the sidelines. He just doesn't throw it over the middle. And when you take away a whole portion of the field in the passing game, it's hard to be a prolific passing offense. Well, I'm just hoping because it's a passing league. I'm just hoping that as he evolves. I mean, he's still only 28 years old. I agree on the evolving. You're right, bud. They pointed this out during the broadcast. I think Troy Hickman went out. There are a couple of plays where Jalen completed a pass to a receiver who was underneath. But there's actually a receiver who is open a little bit deeper. And that's why I wanted to be able to do sort of make those make those completions. Because that's the difference between throwing for, you know, one or two touchdowns a game versus three or four touchdowns a game. And I agree with you, V about the whole idea of not turning the ball over. Right. I know you had that discussion during the week at one point about would you rather have, I think, with spike? Would you rather have less interceptions? It, but still the amount of the same amount of touchdowns or more touchdowns, more. Yeah, I got to understand what you're saying, though, because you've seen this played out.
And I miss going to, I'm still holding out regarding Sean Mangan. You know, I'm not going to press the camera right away, but I'll say this. He's 33 years old. And I don't know. And he really, he's really a new, he really hasn't been at this in terms of calling games. Hey, right. You're right and great call, but like that's why it's, I think it's way too early to, you know, to make it. The only thing I'll say, I, well, I definitely don't think you can make a judgment on Manian yet. No question about it. It's just like when the problems are the same as last year, I have a hard time thinking. What, you're, you're, yeah. Well, I just think it's not. And I just think it's too early. It takes time and so on offense. You don't just like run it. When you come out like, yeah, like when you get down, like you have to do different things and they have been down in games. You're going to run Chuck on anyway. There's all kinds of stuff. All right. Let's keep it rolling. Again, we want to talk to as many people as you can before we get out of here. Let's talk to Marley in Charleston. Hey, Marley. Marley. Marley. Put Marley back on. Who's like that? Muppets on like Charlie and Marley. Ooh, I don't know from the Muppet movie, the Christmas Carol.
Well, yeah, that Marley. Yeah, yeah. I don't remember this song though, but I remember the character. Anyway, two on five, five, nine, two, ninety four, ninety four. No Marley. So let's go to wannabe. Hey, wannabe. Uh oh. Oh, no. There we go. There we go. I was like a spice girl song. Yeah, I was about to say that. I'm going to be with the Nevin Spokane. Oh, I have been, buddy. That's a good. Thank you. I wanted to bring up one of the most under discussed major issues on the defensive side of the ball. Thus far this season that has us performing before below our talent level. And it's not many people are talking about it. Against the Bears. Yeah, against the Bears, Rick Willin did not know who to match way too high a percentage of the time. He had more likely coverage cuts, a fifth that was possible. And he had two very costly penalties, probably double digit points. He was responsible for in that game. Now, week is a precious commodity in that in man press coverage, there are a few on the planet that can do it like him.
The problem is the majority of vixengeos coverages are not man and they're not zoned. They're match. So if there's a little bit of motion and a priest that motion in the offense and you don't know who to match post snap. That is a huge problem and that's ripple effects across the defense. Yeah, nature teammates book worse too. Well, and to the point want to be like you look at what he was this off season right now is at those practices. And he is somebody that when you're going up against an offense not scheming against the defense, not doing what you that offense thinks to equal and specifically struggles with. He's able to be like a workout warrior like he's still an unbelievable athlete to your point one of the best man cover corners on the planet. He can make interceptions other other corners can't but there is a reason as a free agent. He did not get like what you think somebody who is unbelievable at man with his elite skill set could get and I think through the first three games. He's not been terrible overall. He was definitely not good against Chicago, but he also has not been like special right. Yeah, you haven't seen those special plays and one thing we talked about this off season with him is there will be weeks where we go.
Man, this guy looks like he could be the next hundred million dollar corner whatever and there'll be weeks where we go. How much longer is Vic going to stick with him if he keeps making these mental mistakes. Don't think we're there yet, but you are right last week again Chicago. I'm sure Vic was very frustrated watching some of the team. Yeah, and that game and that's the game specifically he was virtually unplayable. I do have a potential solution last year. Vic protected the Dory Jackson by moving him to the field and quinion to the boundary and he was allowed to get his cover eight coverage more often and put roll of safety over top. A Dory to protect them because the Dory wasn't good in man. Since week has the opposite problem and since the boundary corner ends up in man coverage more often. I think he should experiment with rotating them field and boundary but instead have week as the boundary corner and that's something you consider in future matches. Hey, want to be calls more often creep. Yeah, I mean he's stuck with them on side so far right like he last year's Aquina move around this year.
They're keeping with them on sides, but yeah, I mean I think that if Tereq will and keeps having these mistakes, he's he's gonna have to do something. Let's go to New Jersey and talk to Joe. Hey Joe. Hey, what's going on guys? What up Joe? How you doing man? Pretty good first time long time. I uh, thank you. I had a quick quick fillies point for you. I don't want to derail the people. Oh good no worse. No worse. So the athletics are moving to Vegas right and we don't know exactly when that's going to be complete. I mean there's probably a date out there but it's in the near future. Bryce Harper's from Vegas if they keep losing the way they do every year. Why don't we just ship them over to Vegas? So I've made this man a ton of times. So here's the thing. I think there's certainly a possibility of it but my guess is if Bryce is moved on from and remember he has an retreat clause. So like he can control where he goes. I don't I get the idea of going home being part of the biggest thing. I think Bryce Harper cares desperately about winning a championship.
Well he could still play so my guess is if Bryce forces a trader if they decide they want to treat him and work with him and Scott Boris to trade him, they will trade him to a team that has a real chance to win. So I think I think that's true for the next two or three years. Yeah I agree after that. But now I think they just getting traded will be to a con just. Vegas is still a few years away. I can see him ending his career. Yes without a doubt. I think there's a good chance when Vegas has its first season in the majors. Bryce is on the table. Well it's been so quick it happens but the point is I don't I wouldn't be like if I had to bet where does Bryce play his last season. Vegas would be pretty high up. Yes. Yeah yeah I think it's fair point. It depends on the timing. Anyway tomorrow tomorrow's a jailing game. We need the offense to keep the ball for a majority of the game and use the rain to our advantage to keep the Rams off the field. Yeah. Appreciate you guys. Great show as always. Have a good one. Amen. Hey it's a great call. It's a good point about the weather. Now I was going to ask you about that. It actually does look like it's going to rain a ton the last time I looked but I think in a game and there's not often the case with the Eagles. It helps some of the Eagles.
Yeah. One of those games where you kind of hope it gets a lot of time. We always say it helps the underdog or the team that get it. I also saw the Eagles. I think our five and O is underdogs. Yeah and this year. Any other things to do. All right. We got one more segment to go again. We are at the Ashley and Cherry Hill. All kinds of awesome savings. We're about to talk about Tyrese Max. You should be here any minute. So so keep it here. Get your calls and we're going to take calls last segment buzz after that but quickly before we go to break. I will be shocked if you do. So I do this clue. I have a hint that he will give you for again. Best song about California has been the theme that Vani has been playing. I said, I'll tell California what she nailed. Obviously, I think it's the chalk answer. Elliott is not a chalk answer. It is not. It is it is unique. Give her the hint. All right. So I think here's no Google right you have to do this on your own. I think there's a good hint. It's from a TV show. Yep. That's a fair hint. It is the most giveaway one. It is not a giveaway though because yeah, because Vani is also 20 or 20 years.
Oh. No more clues. No more clues. Okay. Yeah. No more clues. Okay. That's fine. No more clues. Okay. It's not a show that's this second. No, you're right. All right. Two and five. Five. Yeah. Two and five. Five. Nine, two, nine, four, nine, four. We have one more segment to get online. Take as many calls buzz after that. It's Go Birds Radio. Ah, so Evani Hanamiri. This is not the song Elliott, Joe Parks was thinking of. But it's so much better. It's not bad. I don't know what this is. Do you know? No, but I can hear it. This is the Beverly Hills 90210 theme baby. No, no. Yes, better say yours because it's not as good for this.
Yours is fine. Hold on, hold on. I would say this to this answer. California is not in the title. Am I cropping? Beverly Hills. No, I know. But I'm saying I know I don't think California to be in the title. I thought that's what we were doing. Like I thought there was the whole thing. It's just best song that represents California. Well, you're at California. I think Beverly Hills counts. I would say. No, it's it. But so say yours. Shealks you forturty over there. American garden with kids. And every other thing, we can hear how possible it was the guest. I am the preacher. I hope everybody's watch it. California, here we come. The OC. supporting that. The notebook. person show. Oh, I'm the I like you see with that. Yeah, I look like Ryan. I like gossip girl better of those two shows. Yeah, Adam Brody. Adam Brody on O.C. out of the great. You heard of it. Ben McHughard of it.
Okay, you heard of it. All right, Lewis and me. Shepar you would have even heard Rachel Pilsen. I can go all day, buddy. I can go all day. Vani, you should play the song at one point so you can hear it. Yeah, I think we're talking to the good of beach. I'm an idiot. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yes. The O.C. It's a good answer. Okay. I like it. Beverly Hills not to know like a generation before the O.C. Right. The O.C. All right, 255929 for nine for nine. Actually in Cherry Hill, Tyrese, Maxie, Beyer, any second, prizes, games, play, money, all kinds of awesome stuff for you. Just have to be here to do it. Coming out. All right, last time for us, we need to as many calls as we can. I look down and I see one of our phase, one of everyone's phase. We saw someone here before. I would say yeah, shout out to the guy who came by a long time, Lister of the show, the station, also fully decked out in Tennessee volunteers gear. And of course, we said, are you a fan of this man? He said, of course, let's go to Tennessee and talk to our buddy, the Feller Justin. What up, Justin? What up, Feller? What have you Feller? How are we done today? So you know how there's like celebrity look alike? So that'll walk around and pretend to be a celebrity. We should have had this guy stand next to the table
and been like, yo, it's Justin from Tennessee. He has on like a Tennessee shirt, a Tennessee hat. He was talking to Eagles. He would have had to do an accent like you, but still was a chance there. All right, that's awesome. Man, that's awesome. I've been cold to see. Yeah, that really would have. And you don't see many Tennessee fans up out of way just like you don't see a whole lot of Eagle fans. Well, they're more now because of you. You're like an influencer. Yeah, exactly. Real quick, man. For this team, the defense has really started. They got to get your head out of the tail, man. All these blown coverage is an assignments. And I know people's been beating the drum to death this week about it. But I really think the defense is missing Reed Blankenship and the Kobe Dane right now. When you look and hear it like the guys talk about the the communication in the back end of it. And then obviously the Kobe band, you know, the he was the heart and soul of that defense. I believe now now that you see what they're doing, you know, he's he's like a bag on tree stump, man. And you just can't move tree
stumps out people that that have ever tried to get a tree stump out. It takes a lot to get a tree stump out. Sometimes I could never get a tree stump out. Yeah, have did you guys see that quote from the Kobe earlier this week? He was talking about going to the football and he was like, you they're going to lose the ball or your soul. Kind of love him. Here's a question for you guys. So let's say, you know, the Texans are what? Oh, in three now. Oh, in three. Yes. So shout out to the Zangaro, great Eagles beat writer. He came up with this earlier in the week. But I think it's a great one. The Texans call you. Hey, you interested in Reed? What would your offer be? So Reed Blankenship back to the Eagles. Now, I don't have his contract in front of me. I got fifth or something. Yeah, like, yeah, like, yeah, I don't know if I would go fourth, but I think I would go fifth. I agree. I think Reed, they miss him for sure. Yeah, I mean, communication is key to a secondary, guys. I mean, when they're when we've had so much bond assignments and miscarriages and it's it's all I don't know if Cooper's nicked up, but Cooper's not played as well this year as it seems he has in the past. I don't know what's I don't know
what's going on there, but something is missing and it scares me today. I think in that it's Nicoli and Reed both. So hopefully tomorrow when truck junior I think I was at nephew gets in there. We can see something that that, you know, that'll help solidify that run defense and stop those guys, but I know Aaron Donald's not playing, but breaking five is still a really good defensive title. Very Kobe. Very, very, very good. Yeah, they're good. They're all coach. Yeah, by reunion. Yeah, by reunion former University of Tennessee, defensive event that I wanted us to draft, but we didn't. I mean, he is a stud as an edge russure guy. So the offensive line is going to have its hands full and no, no Dallas, no Devonte. It's going to be tough, but I think we pull it out. It's going to be another nail byter, but I think seriana keeps this dominant. So we'll make ready 24, 21 game winning field go Jake the mate from about 45. You'll get out for your lichens go. Love you boys. I mean, have a good man. Love you to great call. Let's squeeze one more call before we get out of here.
Marty and Philly. Hey, Marty. Hey, how are you guys? Listen, I want to start this by saying, hi, how are you? Listen, I want to start this by saying, I really like Nick seriana and this is not a total attack on him. I think he's done a great job with five times in the playoffs for his first five years, but if you watch the Eagles for the last year and these games, it's a super bowl. Okay. The offense has continuously come out in the second half ineffectively. And this is a business. This is a big organization. I don't care about deflecting. It's the it's the offense of coordinator. It's his cousin. It's his first cousin once removed. That's not right. It goes the responsibility that everybody that it goes to Nick seriana and that's
who's responsible for remanying this. He knows it happened last year and he's letting it happen again. And I don't see any clients. So he should go to a hurry up. Offense, whatever. Hey, Marty, great call. We're up against it. Really good call. Yeah, I would just say to Marty's point. I would quote Nick here where next day coach, everything that happens on that field falls on him. And I think when the mistakes in the problems are exactly the same year over a year penalties, sloppy football at times, right? Like second half adjustments. That falls on Nick and Jalen. And I include Jalen in there because Jalen audible is like all those things. Nick and Jalen are attached at the hip when they're awesome. It's because of them and when they struggle, it's almost always because of them. So I agree with Marty on that. Yeah, no, I I got to the top. I think again, two like big spot like it's a big early season spot. We know it's week four. You can't over react too much. Yeah, they can lose tomorrow. They just have to win that. Yeah, but it feels like a day where Nick could it like we come out of tomorrow being
like, that's what Nick does. Exactly. You know, and I went out. All right. Or yeah, or we'll say, all right, either way, Elliott and I will be back to react to the game as soon as it ends. On the WIP. And nicely done, Vonning. Great job. On the WIP YouTube channel as soon as the game ends, Elliott and I will be there. So tune in for that. And obviously pods throughout the week and all that. And obviously the pre-game shirt tomorrow. Elliott will be on it. Merrill, Mike with the call. You don't have to leave this station at any point. Buzz coming up next. Amazing job back in the city of Van Ahon and Merrill and just absolutely crushing it. And Lewis Coco just said you used your car. He did. He's like, uh, a multi-talented. Well, let's see what it's like. Here's what we've been outside. We're going to go outside and your car is gone. It's right. Yes. But seriously, thank you. And thank you to Ashley. So everyone here is so nice, so wonderful. So many awesome people we met in six years here and hanging out. Uh, so really, thank you to everyone. And again, get down here. Tires Max is about to be here. Amazing sales 20% off all furniture. There's a cascube. There's prizes to everyone. And again, as a great color
pointed out before we was hanging out, you're like the best place to wait to win prizes. Is it a place where there's couches and this and that. Everywhere it's awesome. Awesome. Awesome. So coming out. We're so happy to open here. Uh, and again, we'll oh see on the way out. I love it. Um, so thank you to everyone. We'll be back next week. Keep it here. Buzz has got you next. I'm sure we talking birds, fills all that stuff. So until then, he's on
