It's a big, giant positive news boost for your brain at KKHI as we discuss "The Greatest Story Never Told." Finance guy Larry Kudlow has coined the phrase, Scott Bessent has doubled down and the whole Trump world administration is trying to figure out why nobody is talking about record GDP, record real income and record low poverty. This is quite a ledger for you today.
There's also been a crazy dramatic drop in young people, especially teenage girls, that say they are gay. It's happened in just a couple years and if you believe you're born gay... we have quite a freakish genetic story taking place in America.
Chiefs tackle Josh Simmons seems AWOL to me again this year and I'm just not buying the injury narrative. He ditched the team last year and it's looking like he's not interested in playing this year.
The Royals move their hitting coach out but join a very rare club of clubs that have stunk and kept their manager and general manager. The Padres are in the playoffs and one eligible bachelor has really a really nice seat for the right woman. KU is likely getting another player back from last year's team
And our Final Final is a BBQ joint in Florida that has servers wearing the greatest T-shirts ever.

Sports, politics, life, buck roofing presents, Kevin Ketzman has issues. We've got a little chiefs crazy and a little sports crazy on the podcast here the past couple of days so we're going to start with something else completely different and this is a feel good podcast right from the jump at KKH. I want to be your dose your jab of positivity today. That's what we're going for. We're shooting for it right here at Kevin Ketzman as you will get to some sports later on but we have been very heavy. Very excited about the football season and the way the chiefs are playing and from the reaction from the listeners a lot of you are as well but I don't mean to skip over the big stories and a lot of the things that are going on that we're all talking about. We know that Trump and all the tech guys signed an AI constitution if you will on Tuesday. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on that because I really don't know a lot about super intelligence as they're now renaming it and calling it but it's pretty cool that they're
getting everybody together in America saying we're really smart and we're really good at this. We're going to do great on this. We're all agreeing by signing this. We're not going to screw people over. We're not going to wreck humanity. We're going to put we're going to put some safety into this thing to make sure whatever it is that they're terrified of doesn't happen. You got to appreciate the effort because there's no stopping it either way. These people these tech people are going to do it no matter what there's no stopping it unless you just shut down the whole country and say it's illegal to do it which isn't going to happen that would not be good for the United States of America. So that happened and I'll just leave it at that. I want to talk about something that the great Larry Cudlow and economist who's been on box business and other business channels before that worked in the Trump administration. You know him. I love his reports when he's talking about the economy, finances, money, whatever because he simplifies it so an idiot like me can understand and I like that. He is calling this the greatest story never told.
Scott Bessent, the secretary of the treasury is calling this quote the acceleration phase unquote. They've all got names for it. They all see what's going on and they all know that the media will ignore this and they will darn sure ignore it 35 days out from midterm elections. They're not going to get this. This story's this stuff is going to be nowhere unless Trump just stops talking about anything else and talks about this. It does fall under the heading which is a little bit difficult of telling people that think they're not doing well that they're doing well. Nobody likes to hear that. But in this case, it's true. Now it's not gas prices. That's the easy thing. They drive down the street. They fill their tank. They see how much it is and it drives them crazy. But there are many, many items. Beef isn't one of them. That gets a lot of headlines. Think of the things that get the headlines. It's the negative things. Just the opposite of when Biden was president, you never heard any of this stuff when Biden was president. They didn't do story on gas prices. They didn't do story on beef prices.
Eggs went through the roof. They didn't say anything. Trump puts his hand on the Bible gets sworn in and later that day the press is all over him asking him what he's going to do about egg prices. They're a fraction of what they were. Egg prices have cratered. Eggs are cheap again. The greatest story never told is Trump's economy. And again, Scott Besen says this is now in the acceleration phase. And I think that's exactly right. We have a whiny society that believes everything sucks. They hate Trump. You have to understand half the people in this country just hate Trump and they're going to believe everything's bad under Trump. They would never say something good is happening. How many times during Biden that I say boy, this is a bad presidency, but the stock market is doing pretty good. American companies seem to be doing okay. You know, they came back out of COVID, whatever the stock market recovered, all those things. There were there were things that were good in America because even the worst of presidents, the worst of administrations and the worst of socialists cannot crush the spirit of
America. They cannot crush the ingenuity and intelligence and desire dedication and drive of the greatest Americans to build to create to aspire to greatness. And it's happening. And we have Donald Trump to thank for it. 18, you may remember this, spending a year and a half, $18 trillion worth of development has been signed up for and started under construction in the United States of America. These are car plants, battery plants, AI technology. Any but yesterday in Iowa, they announced the largest steel plant in the world ever built. Well, how much is this thing? 15 billion dollars or more than that. It's the largest steel plant ever and it's going to be in Iowa. It's a Minnesota company. It's just one thing after another. Our GDP is leaving Europe and China in the dust.
We're just pulling away from everybody. How bad is it going in Iran? Well, about six weeks ago, I reported here on the podcast that they're their unit, their dollar, just call it their dollar. They're the mere or whatever it's called, whatever they're, I don't know what they call their stupid money. It was two million of theirs to one dollar of ours. It is now 2.5 million of theirs to one dollar of ours. In a matter of a very short period of time, they've gotten 25% worse. They're getting crushed financially by this. And all these one world globalists that hate Trump and you saw it at the UN and you hear the the Democrat Socialist and everything in America, what they don't like is Trump doesn't care about those other countries. He's like, I'll be your friend. If you want to do a treaty, we'll be best friends. We'll do business together. You guys all have, you'll thrive. Just, just say you want to be in with us. If you want to fight us and you don't want to be with us, I'm a crush. And right now he's crushing them. The greatest story never told is Trump's economy.
It's produced an all time record household income. And we now have the all time record low poverty rate in the United States of America. The Atlanta Federal Reserve predicts 5% GDP growth. You'd think somebody would notice this or report this. One of the latest from the Census Bureau, the poverty rate just hit the lowest level in United States history. Listen to me again, 5% GDP all time record low poverty rate. What else is there? Hey, that's not all America just hit its highest level in real median household income ever ever in history. Real median household income ever. The Atlanta Fed estimates the economy is growing in an incredible 5% annual rate. That's after years of Democrats promising us that 1.6% was the new normal and please don't expect to. Atlanta Fed says it's five right now.
That's three, that's more than three times. That's it's three and a half times what the Democrats said is achievable. It's only a year and a half after Trump back in office. I'm not done. We're going to just jab you in the arm and fill you up with all kinds of good stuff today. The child poverty rate in the United States of America. This is hungry kids. This is kids living in poverty. 13.4% the lowest official rate ever recorded in ladies and gentlemen. I'm going to guess that's the lowest official rate recorded anywhere. Hispanic poverty fell to the lowest on record. 13% real weekly earnings for blue collar manufacturing works are up 4.1 since January. Construction workers earnings are up over 5% in the same kind of in the same period of time. Folks this is like miracle stuff. It's the greatest story never told.
It's the acceleration phase. We're in it. You may not feel it. I may not feel it. I don't know what's happening, but we will. If you have a nickel in the markets or you've invested over the last year and you see it. Maybe we thought it was crazy. Trump is talking Dow Jones 50,000. Well, it's done better than that. It's been a little bit down here. It's bouncing around. It's in a bounce around phase. We're an election. This happens toward the end of the year. I think next year is just going to be the jab I'm giving you right now. I will give you steroids next year. We're going to go nuts on this thing. It's going to be crazy because the election won't be in the way. There'll be nothing in the way. And I really don't I do care about the House and the Senate. I do care. They can't stop what he's already done. There's no undoing this. 129 regulations by the federal government have been eliminated for every new one implemented. Let me repeat that. This is for businesses. This is for America. This is for all of us.
129 government mandated things that you got to do have gone away for every one new thing they've put in place. It's insane what's going on. I'm reading through these numbers. I'm not an economist. This was not my major in college. It's not my area of expertise, but this stuff's absolutely nuts. I mean, it's just we have the lowest murder rate in the history of the country. Drug deaths have cratered. They're almost whether a fraction, they're down what 60% 60 some percent young people dying fentanyl in the drugs across 99% 99.9% of illegal border crossings have disappeared. It isn't happening. It's just not there. And we've got 5% GDP growth. The Muslim immigration number. This is legal immigration. This is. Oh, this is a good one, folks. This is not they, you know, we know a lot of people crossed the border and got here.
If you're fake, if you're a Muslim, legal immigration by Muslims since Trump was elected down 96%. He is backing it up. This is going to be a Christian country. And I got nothing against a peaceful Muslim. I'm not going to judge you. I know you're here. If you want to assimilate and become American and get rid of Sharia law and treat women as equals and all these other nice things that we do in this country, we welcome you. If you're bringing your batshit crazy stuff from where you're from and you're not dumping it at the door, I'm out. I'm out from the river to the sea does not work for me. I'm out. No, this is it, man. We use the term, you know, golden age of America. Trump kept saying golden age, golden age. You can't deny these numbers. This is crazy stuff, but this is stuff that even if Trump said it every day, if festons out there doing it, if everybody in the administration's out there doing it, Americans don't want
to hear it right now because they're looking at the damn gas prices. Oh, it's frustrating part. Yeah, the Iran conflict, short term mistake. It's going to cost them in terms in all likelihood. I actually don't think there's a question about it unless they, they're not going to wrap it up. It's not going to be sealed off enough and done enough for people to say, okay, that's over. We're going to switch our vote. But Republican, that's not where it is. Where it is is momentum from people that are registered Republicans. How about this gem of a stat in 20 congressional districts, 20 that are swing that are tight. If in those 20 Republicans on the ground can work in work and work and get a thousand votes, each one of those districts, they can go find another thousand votes.
They win the district. That's how close they are. They're going to be close within like a thousand votes in some of these districts. That's crazy. That is typically typical district. That would be four Republicans right now that are not planning on voting or staying home or they're disenfranchised or they decided they don't like Trump or whatever it may be. That's for her precinct. If you personally could find four people and get them to a polling place in one of those places, look, I live in one that's, it's done that like Sheree's David's isn't even doing the debate. She's going to win. She's going to win by double digits. I'm not talking about Kansas third. Really not talking about any in Kansas and Missouri, or Missouri, we know how they're going to all end. They're pretty much decided. Sheree's David's going to win manual cleaver's going to win because they went back to the old maps. It's going to be just what it's been. Nothing's going to change here. But there are places that this stuff is really close and it really swings the whole balance
of the house. And if any Republican in one of those districts can find four friends and drive their butts to the poll on election day, and that happened in each of the precincts within a congressional district, you've got your thousand votes. And you flip the whole thing. I don't think Democrats are quite as anxious to go vote as we all think. Basically what happens in these things is the people in the middle that swing in a presidential race, they will often swing in big races to the right. They don't like left. They don't like socialists. They don't like communists. Generally, those are the people that are more likely to stay home. We know them as rhinos or softer publicans or whatever. We got to get those people to vote. But the Democrats need those people to vote too. And they're sitting here watching this wackadoodle stuff from the communists and the DSA. I'm not so sure they're all going to turn out the ones in the middle.
You're no kings. People are going to be there for sure. Yes, your racebaders are going to be there. Your communists are going to be there. They're all going to vote. But man, there's millions and millions and millions of people registered as Democrats that are just like, oh, I'm exhausted. These two sides. Now, this is definitely a turnout of people that are registered in your party getting to the polls. It's not the independence. It's not the swings. It's not. It's who's going to get people to the polls. That's just unbelievable stat. A thousand extra Republicans in 20 different congressional districts could win the whole thing and keep house a thousand votes. Got to find them. I'm going to try to find the list of these 20. I read the story. It didn't it didn't rattle them off. You know, you probably don't like him. And he's really showing his stripes in Texas. Carl Rowe is not really supporting the Republican there for Senate because he doesn't personally like the man. Okay. But Carl Rowe would be the guy that would know right away what 20 districts these are.
They'll pop up. We'll probably, oh, yeah, we remember that one. We remember that one. But let's vote. Let's take this momentum. My point of the open here today is tell your friends, your Republican friends that are like, yeah, I just vote for president. I got a, I got a half a dozen friends like that. They're like, yeah, midterms. Yeah, tell them this information. Let them know. We're looking at a 5% GDP growth in this country. We have never been richer and we've never had fewer percentage of poor people in this country. Ever. That's not what you hear on the news. It's not what you hear. It's never been better. Americans have that I say this all the time and people look at me funny. I feel bad when I say it because I say it around people at work and I say it in friend groups and I feel like they're looking at me like, well, okay, Kev, you're doing all right. And I'm like, well, yeah, I've been working for 40 some years. I ought to be doing all right. I saved my money and I invested it and left it in long term event. Yes, I'm not going to apologize for doing well.
I'm not. But don't look at me like I'm some kind of unicorn. I'm not brilliant with that stuff. Mine was slow and steady. I'm the tortoise man. There was no sprint for me. I know a good thing when I see one and it's been pretty good since Trump came down the escalator. The hiccup was 18 months of COVID. It was an absolute train wreck. But the rest of it, even Biden's time for like how are Americans actually doing? We got embarrassed on the world. We were not as strong militarily. All these things under Biden that happened. We did all kinds of weird things. They did lesbian Easter egg hunts or whatever it was with topless trannies. The borders were open. Crime went up. That crap we did really wrong. But if you didn't have that crime happen to you or something directly affect you like that, it's been okay. What Trump's doing in the second term with this 18 trillion in investment and a 5% GDP growth.
The wave is behind it. Okay, this is the tremor. This is the earthquake at the floor of the sea. Okay, that wave isn't going to hit the beach. It's just now starting. Besson's basically saying this is it. This is the acceleration phase. That wave is coming and it's going to hit everybody. It's just going to hit everybody. All boats rise. That is good news, folks. I am happy. I'm so happy as one of your favorite podcasters to bring you happy news. Good news. Things that matter. Absolutely. All right. We're brought to you today by window world. Same thing with my guy Jared. He's my foundation guy. Had lunch with Jared with. He wants me to remind everybody out there. He's on the road driving a lot. He'll drive a couple hours to somebody's house or business and check out what they've got. He puts a lot of miles on his car. He drives a lot to go meet people and talk to them about their foundation issues. He wants me to remind everybody to observe all speed limits and traffic regulations. He says it's getting nutty out there. He wants people to keep you just be safe driver. Just be a good safe driver. Stay off your phone. Pay attention and be sure to observe all those laws while you're out there. Right Jared? Yeah. He is my guy. Just calling on a cell phone. 816 506 1090. Folks, many of you have reached out to his company and this is really weird. I don't know how this happens. I asked him about it. If you reach out to his company, it could go to a call center or another person that does what he does. That does up the bid and is the expert on the foundations.
He'll just take your call and take it from Jared, although you were calling for him. If you call the office and ask for him, it doesn't mean you're going to get him. So let me just say this. If you want your foundation, this is the number again for a foundation estimate. If you don't get Jared, no matter who you call or what you do, if you don't get Jared, you don't get Jared. Make sure they connect you with him. 816 506 1090. That's 816 506 1090. We had an awesome one. It's just a great guy. Great guy. And Aspen Wealth Management is Aspen the place for you. Trevor and Tavis Holsinger have a wonderful firm that will, well, you're going to feel really important working with them. You're not going to get lost in some giant. All due respect, we got some whales here in Kansas City, some investment giants that have hundreds of millions of not billions of dollars of money from people that are not in Kansas City. So, you know, they're the whales. Those are the people that they bring Obama in to speak to and things like that.
And you're going to feel like maybe you're lost in the shuffle with a company like that. Not Aspen Wealth. Personal service is everything in your financial planning. So make the call. Give Tavis a call. We had a great meeting last week. 913 491 0500. If personal connection and customer service matters, Aspen Wealth, that's it. And you're going right to the top. They own and operate their own firm. They've got employees. They're not, they love the podcast. You're getting the owners at Aspen Wealth. Okay. To work directly with you, AspenWealth.com. Great dudes. Just super dudes. Oh, well, now we got more good news. Oh, we're not stopping with the good news today, folks. No chance. This is the biggest scientific and data abnormality that I can ever remember seeing. We've got something shocking going on. They've told us that people are born gay or lesbian or non-binary or gender dysphoric,
whatever the proper term is there. And that's unbelievable. So I don't know what we've done scientifically, but the numbers of people born this way are really dropping. They like to study young people in these surveys, particularly ninth graders. That seems to be the sweet spot. What is that age? 14? They started asking about sexual preference at that age. Ninth grade girls in the United States of America in 2021. I remember talking about this on the podcast because I couldn't believe this number. Twenty six percent of the girls responded that they believed they were lesbians. Twenty six percent more than one in four. Donald Trump takes over as president. Twenty twenty five. The number is 12 percent. It's less than half and shrinking. And it's shrinking with boys. It's shrinking in all ages. Young people.
Young people for some reason, 15 years ago weren't born gay as much as they are today. Apparently or they worked or born gay 25 years ago. How is this happening? When we talk about what art and music and movies and media and social media and iPhones and all these things, the effect that they have on children and our society and you try to blow it off and say it doesn't matter what they're consuming, what they see that we're not violent because video games are violent. No, no young man ever went out and tried to emulate what he did on his video game at home. We've seen that time and time again. The most dangerous people in America are transgenders. They're mentally ill. They're not born that way. They're mentally ill. Anybody can see that. And now all of the sudden these numbers are shrinking. I wonder where that would be. Trump takes over. People feeling good about America again. They're like, all right, we're strong. We're powerful. We kind of like winning. Okay.
Good enough. We have gone in four years from 26% of ninth grade girls saying that they're lesbians to 12%. That's a scientific and data abnormality if there ever was an absolute miracle. CNN polar, Harry Enten, is that his name? Harry Enten did a bit Monday night from their polling about the upcoming midterms, Magga voters, certain to vote, 71%. Democrats, certain to vote, 71%. Now that looks like great news on the surface. And I'm bringing you good news today. We can interpret this as good. Okay. I can also interpret it as bad. Here's how I'd interpret as bad. If Trump has a 98% approval rating with Magga Republicans, that's 71% number should be 98. 98% of Magga people, whatever percentage that is, I don't know, there's Republicans that are not Magga. This is what bothers me.
The Democrat number is all Dems. 71% of all Democrats say they're certain to vote and 71% of all Magga say they're certain to vote. That sounds like a dead heat. I don't think that's what that is at all. Now, I don't know what's cooking into books over at CNN. They're doing something weird. Trying really hard to put on things that look like some sort of a positive spin for Republicans to latch onto that they'll share on social media. So it will get millions of hits. That's all this is. This is clickbait. If you dig underneath the numbers, it doesn't make any sense. 71% of Magga does not equal 71% of the Democrats. I'm sorry. That's the only way I can look at it. And I know it got shared and everybody's talking about it and CNN got a lot of attention from this, but they're playing you. They're playing you. There are a couple types of Republicans right now. Those that are like, we got to do something. I'm frustrated. We got to win these elections, but I'm terrified because it doesn't look good or they're
ones that say, everything's good in the world. My life's good. I love Magga. Trump's awesome. I'm happiest I could ever be and everything's going to be just fine and we're going to sweep these things. And this is for the people that think you're going to sweep everything. It's almost like some kind of a setup. I'm not real sure. My favorite AOC was at Cornell University. Boy, you talk about a sweet spot for a communist like, well, no, she's not a communist. And she says she's not DSA because she thinks she's going to run for president someday. Please, God, please let her run for president. I want to see the debates. I want to see the blank look in her eye when she can't answer a question. I just want this so badly, so badly. She went to Cornell as the featured speaker at an event called, quote, more perfect university. That's a campus group of socialists at Cornell. The more perfect university group at Cornell. And before she came out to start their meeting with a couple of hundred people there as
Big crowd, they started chanting from the river to the sea. What? She just came right out and did her thing. Good for AOC. Ah, it's unbelievable, man. They're just right in plain view. Just right in plain view doing it for us. Everything. Hmm, bonkers. All right, onto the sports of the day brought to you by plain view beef. It's all in plain view. See that? That's a professional podcaster segue. It's all out there in plain view for you to see and so's the statistics on the health of plain view beef. That's all on their website plainviewbeef.com. Don't forget they have gift cards. Get somebody with a birthday coming up, either send them a gift box or just give gift cards. They can order whatever they want at plain view beef. They're going to love it. Excellent Christmas idea, excellent idea for your clients this year, folks. You got clients you buy gifts for. You start thinking right now about plainviewbeef.com. Fantastic. I had the Sarloyne last night.
Oh, it was so good. I've not had a lot of experience grilling the Sarloyne. I think a lot of people will maybe sear them and then oven roast them slowly to make it a little more tender or whatever. I put mine on the grill and I don't know if I did great or not. It's obviously not as tender as a filet, but the flavor was fantastic. Sometimes I'll get a steak or a pork chop or something and even if I screw up and I'm like, okay, I made this one. It's a little too done or too chewy or something like that. On me, if it tastes, if it has great flavor, I can live with that. If it does and I'm like, okay, it's, it's cobblers now. And I've done that before with other steaks, not this one, boy. This was a tastiest Sarloyne ever had and I would take advice on how to make them just as tender as you can. It's just awesome. Yeah, I got the bundle pack. So I'm trying all of them. I'm trying to learn how to prepare a lot of other steaks that I haven't done in the past. And so last night it was the Sarloyne from plainviewbeef.com grass feds, brout, finished

Speaking of the chiefs, Josh Simmons is the left tackle that the chiefs were revisiting a story that we had last year and I think it's part two. I don't think his back is hurt.
I think he's healthy. I think this is a player with a problem. I don't think it's the typical kind of problem that we're all like, oh, you know, he's out committing crimes or a terrible person or some scourge to humanity. I don't think that's it at all. I think I'm just sharing opinions with you. Okay. I'm not going to tell you I got an inside information or anything like that. But it was pretty apparent when he left the team last year and went to be with his family in San Diego, sort of a communal Polynesian family, right? Where they just grew up around each other so close, so tight, so whatever that it wasn't working for him not being with his family. I think it's happening again. This guy got in shape this off season. He never looked better. He came in. Josh Simmons is a talented enough player to certainly be top five left tackle in the NFL, but maybe even the very best. That's why the chiefs drafted him at the end of the first round. He would have gone at the top of the first round except all 32 teams knew there was something
wrong and it wasn't some little injury added Ohio State. That wasn't it. It was never the physical part. It wasn't really recover. Remember, they said, oh, a lot of teams backed off because they thought this injury would keep him from playing the first four games of the year. You know what? Nobody in the NFL ever did. Nobody in the NFL avoided drafting a tackle that might be the best left tackle in the game because they're going to miss the first four games of their career. No team was ever scared off by that. Ev, and the chiefs weren't with Josh Simmons, but they took a chance and everybody around the league knew they took a chance and where the hell is this guy? They say he's here, but we don't know. Over last year on game day, he didn't show up and they're like, where is he? They didn't know where he was. Honestly, didn't know where he was. He'd gotten on an airplane and flew to San Diego to be with his family. He's left team. He's dealing with something. I can't tell you if it's something as simple as football's hard. I don't want to do it. Or there's some sort of a unique dynamic around their family that the big, giant extended
family in San Diego all has to be together. I don't know if it's a medications issue, a mental health problem. I don't know what it is. Nobody seems to think this man is any danger to anyone else or anything like that. It just doesn't seem like he wants to play football like it's not in the cards. Now I made this comparison last year and I'll do it again today. It reminds me of Zach Grinky. Zach Grinky with the Royals and they were pretty open about this left the team got some help. They found some medications. They got him the help that in giant diagnosis and help that he needed and Zach Grinky went on to have an amazing major league career. When you're young and you're dealing with this stuff, you got to figure it out. And I think the chiefs are going to stick with this guy. I think they're looking at this going. This guy can be a 10 year left tackle stud here. We just got to get him right. They must think there's an answer for whatever it is that's keeping him from playing.
I think football, but I ain't buying any of this stuff that chiefs are saying about his back is store. We'll see. Can't practice. No, no, I'm sorry. No, you've lost the benefit of the doubt on Josh Simmons on these things. And then Andy would discote what was it last week? Well, we knew from the start it might be two, three, four, even five weeks. No, you'd be listing it that way. If you knew it was going to be five weeks, you could have put him on the inactive. You could have, you know, I held him. Is a million. If you knew it was going to be five weeks, you wouldn't have kept him on the active roster. You're sitting here waiting for him to come back and play because he's ready to play. In Benson's, in an okay job, first couple games were better than Miami game. It wasn't great than Miami game at left tackle, but he's done all right. I'm happy with him, but the chiefs want Josh Simmons there. And I'm not sure that's going to happen. I think they're going through the, I think they're going through the exact same thing. Okay, on to baseball. How about this? In August, Jack Cagley, one of the royals was the American League Player of the Month.
In September, Carter Jensen, the Kansas City Royals was the American League Player of the Month. He was also the American League rookie of the month. Of course, the royals were no good this year. They lost everything because their ninth inning earned run average was nearly seven with their relievers. So yeah, not good. Royals did all kinds of not good things, but they've got some guys in place that can play. So I'm optimistic about that. They got to fix the pitching. Well, more on how they're going to fix the pitching in just a moment. The hitting coach, Alex Zumwalt was reassigned today. He's going out of the dugout and out of uniform back to what he used to be as the senior director of hitting basically. He's apparently going to stay with the organization, but not being uniform. So they announced that, but they didn't change anything, a general manager or manager, which brings us to this little nugget. He used to lose 93 games or more twice in a four year period and not fire the GM or the manager since 2000, 2006, 2007, raise 2021, 22 pirates, 2023, 20, 26 royals.
They're one of three teams to lose 93 games twice in a four year period and not fire the general manager or the manager. Wow, it's good to work for the royals. That's the list. If they both stay, I haven't heard anything, right? They both, if JJ and Q are here, there'll be only third team this century to do that. The royals set and records all over the place way to go. Oh, we got more baseball news. This is fun stuff. This is really good. A player for the A's named Zach Gelloff got hurt earlier this year, playing in Detroit. It's a left fielder. He went running across the foul line and like players do, they get to the warning track area. He was trying to catch a foul pop and he slid on the dirt and to catch the foul pop and put his feet up to brace against the wall that he was going to hit. And there's no wall or padding there. It's a chain link fence. It's about three feet tall. The people sit right behind it right there. They can reach over and you know, you've seen those fences before.
And it like catches a cleat and then his knee buck, knee buckles and slams into the fence, which he says is razor sharp. I'm, we get Brian Roddinghouse on talk about this. You know, you know what kind of fence I'm talking about, right? Like the regular chain link, thanks, but this is the good security fence that know what, you know, not that flimsy stuff. And he bangs into it and it slices his knee open. He cuts it on this metal fence, which is disgusting. He didn't hit the patellar tendon or any of that stuff. He was lucky. He didn't have any serious injury like that, but he bled all over the place. They took him out of the game. He is suing the Detroit Tigers. I can't wait to see how this plays out in sufficient padding in adequate space between the playing area and the fence sharp metal protruding, a risk of players colliding with the structure failure to repair redesign or relocate fencing and a failure to warn players about the supposed hazard is his lawsuit. A major league baseball player is suing a team.
Oh, KKH, I will stay on that story for you. I promise. I wonder how that works out. I'm not, I'm not saying he's wrong. Why would you have that kind of fencing? Why wouldn't there just be the soft padding right there? I don't know that one. The playoffs have started. The Braves won their first game of their series over the Phillies. Came for behind and drafted dramatic fashion to win it, but the big news was made around this when the CEO of the Atlanta Braves had a news conference and they started asking him questions about baseball expanding to Nashville. Major league baseball make no mistake about this. It's the commissioner is going to retire after 2029 and he wants baseball to be expanded to the 32 teams by then. They want one East, one West. They want to rebalance the whole thing and have less travel for the players. They want to keep you in your time zones more. Now I don't know if that sends the royals West or East.
Probably matters West is going to be more travel for the royals, but it's a good strategy and 32 is an excellent number. It changes a lot. We can go back to doing division winners. Let's just go have four division winners in each league. Now that's not enough teams probably for them. They're going to want wild cards and everything else, but what you could do it that way. You could have eight teams, eight groups of four and have eight division winners in the NFL and just call it that they won't they'll add wild cards. But my point is there's a lot of things you can do with 32 that are really weird with 30. Everybody I talk to believes Nashville is a shoe in. So the brave CEO is asked right around the playoffs Derek Schiller is the CEO. Would you support with the team the club support expansion in Nashville and he said no. No Tennessee is part of our territory. He said really Atlanta Georgia's territory is Nashville Tennessee.
What these people you have close together all the teams are in the Northeast. The royals are closer to St. Louis than Atlanta is to Nashville. It's close like 270 miles, but it's farther than Kansas City in St. Louis. What kind of arrogance do the Atlanta Braves have that they say you know they've had the whole southeast like when you think SEC they're all Braves fans all. They're a they're the regional team in America and have been forever. I'm rooting for Nashville to get a team now. Screw the Braves. What kind of arrogance is that you think you get like. 10 states in the southeast. Sorry Nashville is a perfect place for baseball. I would love to go there in the summer when the royals play in Nashville. Check it all out play a little golf maybe hang out at the pool maybe go down to a honky talk after the royals game. Yeah, that sounds fantastic.
The Braves Wow. Oh, this is a good one. The podrazer in the playoffs. They're taken on the Cubs and they're starting at home. And a man takes to social media and his date apparently had a girlfriend or something in and they broke up and he was going to take her to the first playoff game against the Cubs and he's like, well, I'm not calling a buddy. I like women. He's going through divorce. I'll have more on that in a moment. It's almost finalized and he's open about that. But he's been dating and he wants to take a date to the game. And so he goes to social media and I think this is brilliant. Ladies in the audience may hate this. I think this is brilliant. It's a harmless date. I mean, what, you know, they have that thing, what it's just lunch or whatever. You know, you set people up on blind dates or what better place to have like a blind date than sitting at a baseball game with 50,000 people around you. All right. And you can get matched up with some super creeper and you're okay. You're at a ball game. Anybody can just walk away from a ball game and get an Uber and go home. So you're safe. Here's what he posts with a picture himself.
Do you want to go to the Padres Cubs playoff game on Wednesday night with me? This is me and he shows the picture. I sit right here, dug out club section four. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I no longer have a date for the game and I want to fix that. Are you one female, two, single, three age 30 to 55? It's a weird range. Four, a Padres fanatic. If so, you qualify. You qualify to be considered. Then he posts. I'm 53. I'm six feet, 180. I'm almost divorced four and a half years and counting final hearing in November. I have two grown kids. I'm a business owner and these are my season tickets. Yes, sir. I'm sorry. I know a lot of people will be offended by that, but whatever. These people, you go on Tinder or swipe left swipe right and you get fake pictures of people. I mean, he said DM me, send me direct messages, you know, like with a photo, the whole
thing, tell me a little bit about yourself. And he's going to pick somebody. And maybe he shows up or gets her and she doesn't look like what that looked like or she lied about what she does or whatever. I don't know, but the dude's telling you everything about him. You got to respect that. I'm almost divorced. It's been four and a half years and counting because he owns a business. That's why it's taken so long. I can tell you that. That's easy. The kids are grown. That's not a problem. He's 53 and the maximum age for him is 55, but he'll go as young as 30. All righty. Padres do what screams more than Southern California than that guy right there. That's pretty wild. Trey White is back playing basketball at the University of Kansas. We talked about this last week, along with 60 or 70 other players. They got an injunction until a trial is over and says he can't play basketball. He can play basketball and so he will. That's where the thing is.
Now Melvin Council. It appears it's coming back to Kansas, although I've done not announced that. He's now eligible. Another ruling this one for Melvin Council, Jr. They're getting the boys back from last year. They left two roster spots open all off season, hoping that Trey White and Melvin Council would be back. Trey White is back. Bill self gave a statement and said, I'll update you in the future about Melvin Council's decision or progress or whatever. He's not saying, hey, this is done. Melvin's coming here. Sounds like they're negotiating a price for Melvin Council, Jr. But you better believe he's going to wind up in a J-hawk uniform. Kansas wins the off season litigation recruiting. What do we call litigation recruitment? They win the off season litigation tournament. The Kansas J-hawks. I'm not surprised. It matters, man. You know, say about SEC football. It just means more. There is no place to college basketball matters more than Kansas. I don't know. I am terrified. One of these days he's not going to be the coach and Kansas is going to be pretty just average. And I don't know what that school's going to do.
I don't. I just don't know what's going to. I don't. I just don't know what happened. Well, I mean, that's their identity. It's everything. And they're good at adjusting. Look what they did. They just brought back two real players to go with what maybe, again, we've heard this before. Maybe the number one pick in the NBA draft coming in as a freshman. Football self is on it. Our final final is the greatest, I think it's the greatest t-shirt I've ever seen, servers
wear at a restaurant. We've seen some doosies. We've seen the raunchy ones. You go on vacation somewhere or wind up in Mexico or California or whatever. It dicks last resort or something and they've got these raunchy or hooters t-shirts, whatever. So we've seen those. That's not what this is. This is way smarter and more clever than that. That's why I love these. The servers walk around in their t-shirts. It's Johnson Barbecue in Plant City, Florida. On the front, it says Johnson's Barbecue Plant City, Florida. On the back, it's a screenshot of a Yelp review for the restaurant. Now, I know what you're thinking. Oh, it must be a five-star review. Somebody wrote something really great about them. No. They picked a one-star review off Yelp, screenshot it, put it giant on the back of every server shirt, one star out of five. And the caption from the reviewer says, quote, no vegan food here.
Unquote. Well played, Johnson's Barbecue. We got a crappy review and a thumbs down because somebody came into Johnson's Barbecue in Plant City and we didn't have a vegan option for them. At Johnson's Barbecue. Oh, man. That's fantastic. I kind of want to get one just to see if people notice. You know, we're around someday and just see if people notice on the back and get it. I got to think there's a lot of people would see that t-shirt and not get it. But if you get it, that's really funny stuff. Johnson's Barbecue Plant City, Florida, our final final today.
