In this political Colosseum, we slay the rising beast with the faithful sword of truth that transcends hypocrisy and censorship. It's time to unleash yourself from the tyrants of media propaganda on the America Out Loud Talk radio network. This is Unleashed the Political News Hour. Welcome. You are listening to Unleashed the Political News Hour here on the America Out Loud News Network. I'm your host, Mayor Deb. No farms, no food. For most farmers, what they do for a living is not just a job, it is a way of life. And for many, it is a way of life that is carried across several generations.
Throughout the world, though, today we're seeing a increase in the fuel fertilizer and even the freight costs that continue to place a lot of pressure on the agricultural industry. Joining me today to talk about the pressures that the farmers are facing in Australia that stem from not only the rising costs of farming, but more importantly from the government overreach that is taking place there. I'm going to be speaking with Ben Doxan, founder of Farmers Fight Back. And my co-host for two flags, one voice, the Australian attorney, Tony Nicolick. This is a conversation that is so important to be had and heard and shared. I hope you will stay tuned and listen to what Ben and Tony have to say about the state of affairs in the Australian farming industry.

All never before has our American cultural, economic, spiritual and political fabric been more threat-bare.
But the America most of us have grown up with and loved, under a relentless and pernicious siege from those carrying the vanners of socialism, communism and Marxism. America out loud.News is the antidote to these poisons and his own. America out loud.News is that place to awaken your heart, soul and mind to the out loud truth. I've said it before and I think it warrants staying again. No farms, no food. And it's a very simple four words. And right now happening in Australia is perhaps one of the most important battles in that country's history joining me now is attorney Tony Nicolick. He is been instrumental in this battle and lending a voice to the farmers. And of course on the main stage is the founder of the organization farmers fight back Mr. Ben Duxen is also here.
Ben and Tony, I want to thank you both for joining me. Tony, let's just start off how Ben is here today. What got you involved with farmers fight back. And then I'm going to bring Ben into tell us where the story starts from his end. Well, it's great to be here again, Deb. And thank you very much farmers fight back. It's a group of people formed approximately four years ago. I believe Ben will get into that a little bit more. But most importantly, they represent a segment of Australia that are standing up for their rights. We have generational farmers five, six, seven generations who have been working the land. And as you would know, just like in the States, they work their hands to the bone day and night. And you know, it's really they got their butts to the grindstone as they say. And here they are, they're developing food or and their growing crops, their growing produce, their growing animals livestock for the country.
And then we have a government that wants to interfere with these groups of people. And I think when I went down the meat, Ben and the crew down there at farmers fight back. How do we say down here? We say salt to the earth people. These people are just genuine or authentic. They just want to carry on their lives. And they do genuinely feed this country. And I met up with Ben in that group. And I thought how fitting would it be to get Ben on. And he can share his story because I also know in the US, when I ran into some farmers, when I traveled over there about this time last year through Texas and Arizona and those places. A similar feel, but I just think that the story of Australia needs to be told and no better person. Do we have and it's great to have him on because he's a stalwart. He's all great, lovely people. Ben, welcome to the show as Deb said and make how about you tell us a little bit about what's going on.
Thanks Tony. Thanks Deb for actually showing an interest in what's what is happening with the farmers down here as well. So as Tony said four years in we're we're on a transmission line. That's an interconnector between Victoria and New South Wales. It's actually called Victoria, New South Wales interconnector. So to do the renewables that Australia wants to do out here, they need transmission lines to be able to carry it. But what they actually have to do is over build everything by five times. This is this is rural Victoria. This is really productive agricultural country that they want to put up transmission lines. But on top of that, they want to put up wind solar batteries, synchronized condenses the whole lot. They have to over build this by five times to actually get a grid that actually is going to make the power that is needed. This isn't a long way from the cities where you know a long way out of where they actually use most of the power here.
So I think they sort of thought early on that they we were a bit of an easy kill with flat country out here not too many of us out here. But in in the pursuing four years that we've been involved with actually got really organized we've understand what's going on. And this isn't a project that's good for Australia for the next hundred to hundred years. This is actually about snouts in the trough over here in Victoria and Australia actually taking taxpayer money. Politicians are actually rolling out the diamond encrusted red carpet for it to be facilitated and this can't happen here in Australia. This is a environmentally wrong. This is socially wrong. And it's financially a disaster and we're seeing that out playing out now in Australia. So we've said a big hard no and we'll continue to say a hard no. We're standing at our gateway. We're rejecting their their compulsory actors access and we're going to reject their compulsory acquisition. We've got Tony on board. We're going to reject the fines that these fantastic people like these are these are people in their 80s and 70s and 80s.
But never done a thing wrong. They're not criminals and our government wants to hang them out to dry to say that they're holding up a project that's not going to be good for Australia. This is this is. This has got to stop and farmers need to stand up and we and I think here in Australia what we're finding is everyone's getting sanitized to the rules and regulations out there. We're starting to be complied of what the governments are trying to do to us and it's time we started standing up and saying no, this isn't right. This isn't great for Australia. This is no good for your food producing a food balls out there and that's what we are. We're producers of food and fiber and agricultural products for Australia and the rest of the world. We feel feed over 60 million people plus and that sort of stuff like us on our own farm feed millions of people as well. So we've got to really start understanding of where Australia is heading. We're not energy can energy producing farms. We're actually for food and fiber and we will stand with our backs up and say no, you're not coming on our land.
That's where it's got to now. Four years of dirty tricks from them and they've tried every trick under the under the book and we're saying no, we're aware to it and thank God Tony's come on board and we're pushing back. We're pushing back back with the best way we can. That's people power because the people power out here in the farmers fight back with we've got over 155,000 people on board and these are grassroots people that are actually saying no. You don't treat our farmers like this and this is property rights that actually if they get away with trying to do it to us, they can get away with anyone in the city. They can actually come into their homes and say no, we need your home. We'll take it for whatever reason and we're not putting up with it and we're certainly going to fight back and it's a real pleasure and honor to be able to do this on our watch and we've driven a stake in the ground and we will continue to fight back on this government that is completely out of control on this issue. Yeah, so it from what I'm reading the what these projects that are coming in are really decorating the land and it sounds as though and I love your terminology snouts in the trough because I think that we have, you know, these government officials who are obviously benefiting through some back door way from what is happening with these multi billion dollar projects.
But it's all to the detriment as you said of people who are actually putting food on the table and supporting life within Australia and the surrounding area. 100% and that's what we're doing we're going to you know every crisis they say we're we are hurtling towards the government induced energy crisis. We're in a government-duced housing crisis, we're in government-duced productivity crisis, we're in government-duced inflation crisis, we're in government-duced immigration crisis. We've got bureaucracy running out of control here in Australia and it's time we started standing up as I said we're becoming very sanitised to this. We actually actually have to say no enough is enough and we will stand and actually fight back on these sort of issues because the snouts are in the trough. This isn't about Australia, this is about a select few, this is about a few billionaires, this is about a few institutionalised bureaucracy and all that sort of stuff.
This is about overseas investors as well. So multinational companies as well. So it is no good for Australia what they're trying to do is push through a system that does not work. Ideology of actually trying to produce a stable reliable cheap grid of wind and solar. It actually doesn't work as never worked in any other country in the world and certainly can't work here in Australia. Yeah Tony, have you been involved with this group, Farmer's Fightback since they began their fight and I believe you began it in Walla-Lew, is that correct Ben? Yeah we did. Walla and Gregory district alliance was what we were called so we had executive about 12 or 14 people. Until February this year in 2026 we were just doing it by ourselves volunteers and we're all volunteers.
We've got a campaign manager on it in the moment who is clipping up everything and making sure that the awareness is out there that's getting the supporters, that's getting us to see a database. We're all volunteers, it actually, it's a best group of, we've worked in as people play their role. People know what their role is, people have got different strengths and weaknesses and they'll play to that. We've got some fantastic people that really unpack what's going on, the technical side of it is quite technical all this sort of stuff. We get to learn it but I'm just the shouty mouthpiece at the front saying what I need to say but happy to let everyone know what's actually happening out here in the regions. Well we need people like you and Tony who are the the shouting mouthpieces in the front because as you said we all have our strengths and talents Tony so you've been involved since the beginning you just got involved. Yeah I just got involved I think towards the beginning of this year I would have thought and I'll slowly become more and more immersed in it and well as I said what struck me is when you go to these small towns and it really does remind me of when I was traveling around the US.
There's a lot of land behind that small town and in this particular town Marnu which is there was a really big meeting of well over a thousand people I think Ben and it was great. We had some political party there I think one nation was there and we had a lot of other people who were out there speaking and the thing that struck me about Marnu doesn't even have a set of traffic lights. That's how small it is. It's a small town that my goalie it had a big heart it had a huge spirit and people were coming from all around Victoria and what struck me when I got involved with with these people is not just their courage and look I've been doing this all through COVID and standing up for people all through COVID and that's what attracted me to this group is their courage their authenticity and they're standing up for their rights which is something that I think is a great thing. Ben alluded to that a moment ago we've just become so compliant and complacent to what's happening around us and some of the authorised officers obviously I'll be testing that legally but they say that they're hindering from entering into land and in some circumstances when you actually read the facts that are coming out they're either across the road or in their car well how do you hint to someone as well?
I'm not even trying to get in it's absolutely irreconcilable in that sense but as I said when you have a look at the character of put in it Ben was saying a moment ago there's a couple there Colin and Mary Fenton and they're in their 80s and they've worked this land for how long and here they're being told that we're going to come on your land and we're just going to build these huge monstrous metal towers that are going to admit well with these big cables and they're going to admit this electromagnetic force that anything under those cables will be affected and not only that you think about the toxicity in the soil and things like that so getting together with Ben and the crew and giving them at least some legal voice and we'll take it all the way with these guys I don't think it's something we should be sitting down for and I really just appreciate their authenticity and their will to fight.
Yeah I do want to get into the effect that this is having on the farmers and on your website which I will say I believe is very well done the farmers fight back.com and everyone can go ahead and take a look at that. There is a story of the Baldwin family can you share that story with us Ben I was just reading the bullet points about what had happened to this family and how what what the government is doing is they're using these mob scare tactics I call them where they're maybe you're maybe or maybe not breaking the law but the biggest goal of them is to try to scare you into standing down so take us through this Baldwin family story. Yeah I think that's how these multinationals and how these corporations work is it's all about time to them they need to break us down they need to break us into small numbers and not have us unified so we're definitely unified along the whole line as well so not only us it's other areas in New South Wales as well we know that we're not going to be able to do that.
The the Walker people as well are very unified and we've always has been so we've actually you know over the years that there's been a lot happen and they've tried every trick in the book is that you know they come and drill on the side of the roads and all that sort of stuff and they try and gain access and you know there's a whole gamut of dirty tricks that they've tried to do we've always pushed back on this we've got some really good WhatsApp groups and you know we're all within 15 20 25 minutes away from me. Other and if something happens we're all on the WhatsApp and saying we'll get there so the ball in case and and this was a complete setup it's been a complete setup of bill ball and the whole way through his father was dragged into it as well but you know that there's there where they've gone to the police and actually tried to identify that was bill one incident and it wasn't even build there you know we've had town hall meetings where they've thrown him to the ground as well. The security guards and and that and leading up to to the incident that was where Bill and his father Greg got charged was the police route and it was only just up the road from Bill and Greg's place and they come on the request of the liaison officers because we got there and they said they said to us is that next time this happens you make you make sure you call us we didn't call them the liaison officer.
So they rock up to Greg's place and there's a liat land liaison officer actually trying to trespass on his place he's trying to look for where the house is the house was you know 200 meters south and all that sort of stuff and Greg's called the police the police have got there and in the end about 15 people have got there and supporting the ball ones and after all that the police of charge Greg and Billy of a false imprisonment and intimidating police. So they're trying to get a reaction from them to try and get some aggressive behavior happening and that so yeah so it's really dirty tactics and it's they'll pull out anything to try and get their project over the line and we're well aware of that.
We knew it was a setup it's been a setup for years every you know every one of us is profile by these companies and we're just kicking back and saying no no it's not right to what you're doing and that so we'll continue to do that and I'll I'll play you the scenario out is that compulsory acquisition if they want to come and try and do that at farmers fight back we've got over 155,000 people we've got an active social media account and that sort of stuff if they want to try and do that we'll get as many people out there and we're going to do that. Men women and char children and all the farmers that are out there and they'll come there and they'll have to look lock up hundreds and hundreds of people if they want to try and do and this you know our our project the V and I West is is supposedly going to be built by Spanish multinational company so a Spanish multinational company is going to have to be seen to be kicking Australian farmers off their own land the labor governments here are going to have to be seen to kicking their own farmers off their land because we will not move we'll be taking care of it.
I think if they want to try and arrest us or do whatever will we will be taken drag kicking and streaming is screaming. Yeah well you know as you mentioned or whoever put together this story online about the Baldwin family they talk about a working farm without firearms is a working farm exposed and I think if you if you work a farm you know that to be a very true statement. The fact that the Baldwin's fire arm license was suspended for four months on absolutely no charges other than some you know pie crust charge that some officer decided to put forth is absolutely absurd and I do applaud you and everyone in that fight for standing up. That was suspended six weeks before they even knew about it they didn't even know that the six weeks prior they they'd been suspended. Tony what do you think of that from a law perspective the fact that they came in and Ben just said you know they didn't even know their firearms license was suspended.
Yeah well from from a legal perspective one you can't revoke well how does someone even know their license has been revoked number one and typically what we see there and if they do own a firearm then they try and get them for you know possessing a prohibited firearm so that's that's the next step and what we see here is a level of violence. There's a level of how do we say institutional capture to put it diplomatically that is where we get these big corporations in line with local authorities and those local authorities become the stronger arm of those big corporations that is a significance concern I have from a legal perspective and secondly when they revoked did they haven't delegated authority to do so and that hasn't been tested yet and I'm sure we'll get down to the bottom of that because I'm not sure if I can get it. The bottom of that because at the end of the day if you've got a revoke a license the person needs to know that license has been revoked and to come in six weeks later and tell them yeah by the way we revoked it well it wasn't really a valid in my view a valid revocation at all and when you actually have a look at how these people it looks like those movies that you see on Netflix almost you know where those small town people are being setup and we can unwind that and come back to the US.
and come back to where it is. And I'm sure we'll be working our way towards something like that because they've had their shot. Now it's ours. No pun intended. Ben, we're going to be getting into a break here momentarily. I just, you know, I just want to say that everybody listening during the break, I'd love for you to go and take a look at the website, farmersfightback.com. It has all the updates, new stories. It has several petitions. And let me just stop there. How are you finding the success of these petitions? And maybe more importantly, what is the impact of folks going over there and signing those? As I said earlier before, Deb, we've volunteered. We've been crunching shape today. I've got a landmark shape tomorrow and all that sort of stuff. And this is growing out of control of what we thought,
which is fantastic. It's fantastic the supports out there as well. So people are really behind it. And it just shows your grassroots movement like this and what we're standing up for. And, you know, I've always been very conscious that our people, our issues aren't with the city people. Our city people are the friends. They love farmers. We provide for them and all that sort of stuff. Our issue is against the governments that are overbearing and trying to push this through. And this is no good for anyone in Australia. This is part of what they're doing is really getting rid of the aspirational drive out of people here in Australia. And that's really sad to see it. It's a really bad place to be in Australia. And as I said, everyone's becoming sanitised to actually standing up. Well, we've said no enough enough and we're going to stand up. We've got people that are backing us as well. So it's growing bigger than I ever thought. And for me, the little old farmer and being the spokesperson of it, it's growing bigger than we can really handle.
But we'll keep on going as hard as we can. And people like yourself, Deb, that actually show an interest in our issues out here. A fantastic for us raising awareness of what's going on out here in Australia. And we get on the farmer's fight back, look up what's going on. And it's a fantastic website. And it actually just shows you intergenerational farmers. And this is a thing. These are intergenerational farmers. And as Tony said before, Colin and Mary Fenton in their 80s, they're not criminals. They don't need to be putting it back into their working life. And they've only ever done good for Australia. They've only ever done the right thing by people here in Australia. They've only ever done the right thing by the government and all that sort of stuff. They've paid their taxes. They do everything right. They're straight down the line. And our government wants to try and find them. And our government wants to pursue this as far as they can go. This is completely overreaching of the government.
And they're completely out of control of how they actually think they can bully and rail road us out here in the regions. We're standing up for people like Colin and Mary and Greg and Robin Roberts as well there in their 70s. And to be honest, I don't think these people are probably sworn in their life. They're that straight down the line and such nice people like they've just done everything right in their lives. And they don't want these people coming on to their farms. And it's really stressful for them. They get knots in their guts when they know they're coming. We've had some fantastic people at the gateways with them. But they're not people that are confrontational. They're not people that want to go against the law. They're not people that don't want to find their pay their fines. And Tony knows this. They'll pay it on time if they had to. But they've driven a stake in the ground saying, no, we don't have to. We're all united. Everyone that's been fired is united. And we will fight this. We'll be fighting this for the generations to come.
And actually for a bit of sanity here in Australia. We can't keep doing these overreaching governments that think they actually can come on and do what they're doing at the moment. Australia is horrible like that. And we need to stand up and make sure that we've got the country that we all know and love that we've had in the past. It's a shadow of itself. But we've got to make a stance. And there is hope out there of people like us. If we can do what we're doing, if we can get a campaign going like we have met a lot of other people. And we're having some wins as well. So democracy is working. We're actually doing a lot of work in the background of with the political parties. But the political parties have actually got to come at the moment kicking and screaming. And our political landscape as Tony would explain is changing very quickly where people are starting to stand up and say, the uni party, which is the labourer and the Liberals all in together and that sort of stuff need their heads kicking in. And we need to make sure that they actually do what the constituents actually want.
And yeah, we're certainly going to play an active role in that. Moving forward, a Victoria's got an election coming up in the next 40 days or something. So it would have been interesting to see it at the end of November of where people stand with their votes. All right. Well, we're going to stop at that point because I do want to get into the elections, which I know are going to play a big role in perhaps where and what direction the saw ends up. So stay tuned, everyone. More to come with attorney Tony Nicolick and the lead man in farmers fight back Ben Ducksen when we return. You know, this time of year, the windows closed. The conversation continues as I'm joined today with the lead mate of a farmer's fights back, Ben Duxen and AFL solicitors attorney, Tony Nicolick. Before we get into the conversation during the break, I thought of that famous quote by Margaret Mead, never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. I think that that is really so telling about what your group of volunteers, farmers, fight back is all about Ben. And I just needed to share that with the listeners because that's where we're at today.
If you have anything in life that you feel passionate about, I think getting people together to join forces is the way to succeed. And on that note, I want to jump into the parties, the political parties that are vying for a November election win. It sounds as though the labor party is on board with the desecration of the Australian farmland. And it sounds as though recently the Victorian liberals and nationals have said if they were elected, that they would abandon this harmful project. So take us through what this looks like and what it means for the farmers. Yeah, no, it's at an interesting stage. So obviously, federally, the liberals and nationals are coming out hard against net zero now.
So they're saying we need to cancel that. And that's what we're saying all along as well that we need to cancel net zero like Australia is it between one and 1.4 and going down of world emissions. And we're still signed up to try and do the heavy lifting that's needed out there when 70% of the world emitters aren't even signed up to this. So, you know, Australia really needs to take a stand of where we want to go with our energy system and energy underwrites everything here in Australia. It's energies, you know, the cracks of what's going on transport all that sort of stuff food and fiber of the whole lot relies on energy and we only have to see just recently here in Australia one of our major smelters at Port Augustus has actually been shut down after being propped up by government in sent subsidies and Tom ago another smelter in New South Wales has also been propped up.
So, you know, what's happening is our energy prices are spiraling out of control and they can't actually do what they're trying to do with wind and solar and batteries and condenses and all that sort of stuff and then increasing the transmission lines as well. So, Australia really needs to actually take a stance and say, right, what do we do, what do we need to do to get an energy system that's going to be cheap and reliable for Australia to actually run on for the next 100 to 100 years. We've always argued that is that they actually have to produce a system that's actually going to do us for the next 100 to 100 years and not not just in the short term about what's happening. So, obviously politically, Labor's been in for a number of years here in Australia and they're the ones running with all this sort of stuff here in Victoria, they've been in a little bit longer as well. So, the Liberals are nationals and I honestly think there's a uni party out there with half the Liberals and Nationals actually on side with what Labor is trying to do as well. So, but we're seeing an uprising of Paul Enhancens, one nation out there in the political sphere as well, which is here in Victoria, they're probably polling at 30% and so's the Liberals and Nationals and so's Labor at the moment.
So, it's a really interesting time of where it's actually going to head to in roughly 45 days of what sort of landscape we're going to be looking at. The conservative side of politics is, you know, they're probably not getting along as we would like. We'd like to see them all boots and all and trying to get rid of the Labor and the Greens out of current government. But there certainly is the Paul Enhancens and one nation is leading the charge on reforming energy, which is our side that we're sort of looking at at the moment. So, getting rid of net zero, getting rid of the renewable energy zones, getting rid of the transmission lines and actually going back to cheap reliable power electricity here in Australia, which we're abundant of. We've got plenty of coal, we've got plenty of uranium, we're actually really rich in those sort of things, so those sort of energy supplies. So, we need to get back to actually looking after Australia because we're in a productivity crisis as well.
We're not productive enough at the moment all our whole economy is just being held up by immigration at the moment. So, things need to change and we need to make sure that we avoid a voice on that to be able to tell people this is what's happening. And again, people have become too compliant over the years and that's what's happened ever since COVID and that sort of stuff is that we need to make sure that people have an interest in what's going on. And the only thing I'd agree with me here is that never before if we've seen here in Australia, the people with the interest in politics at the moment, this is coming from the young people all the way through my generation and the old generations, politics are actually really playing a big part in their lives and people are understanding that they've got to get their votes right coming up to the end of November here in Victoria. What are your thoughts on everything Van just spoke about? Oh, look, I think here in Australia, whether our US brethren and sisters over there understand Australia has passed $1 trillion in debt.
That is a significant amount we have never been there before. We have government spending that is out of control. They literally pull money into different sectors. And as you can imagine when they pull money into different groups, they're looking for the vote. So they're throwing candy as they say to try and attract that vote and Labor is being instrumental at doing this. And at the same time, the cost of living mortgages interest rates, young people are finding it extremely difficult to get into their first home that Australian dream is continually a reach rental company. And so as I say, our farmers are integral to what is happening here in Australia. And as I say, when I do podcasts, I just ask people, just reflect for one moment that when you sit at your dinner table and you're looking across at your husband and your children and you're serving fresh vegetables, you're serving meat and these sorts of foods.
Well, where's it coming from? No, it's not coming from the store, although the store was a distributor of that. It came from someone working the land. And we have forgotten that and we've got to pay grace to that because at some point that all came down the line to what you are now feeding your children. And at the same time, those costs are instrumental in going up because fuel prices. I think we're at like $2.72.80 a litre. That's like $12.13 or almost a gallon. That's an outrageous amount of money. And so when we look at the political structure here, well, it does matter because quite frankly, the Labor Party and the Greens, they're perhaps akin to the Democrat. So if I could put a slot sort of comparison on that, obviously very different countries and the conservatives of what the GOP or the Republicans, but when you have a look at some of the other parties coming through, they're the ones who are saying, well, hang on a second, we really need to get some practicality, some pragmatic solutions to what's happening here because let us face it.
Hashtags and butterflies aren't going to do it and they're not going to feed Australia. And that is that is something that we really need to come down to because when you have a look at coal fire and potentially nuclear, we've gone down this line of renewables, renewable, renewable, renewable. Well, it's not cutting it. And at the end of the day, some of those plans that Ben was mentioning, they were generating so much electricity and the electricity was cheap and a run and it's almost at a net balance in terms of its emissions. So I just think that marketing has replaced pragmatism and reality and we need to get out of that hashtags and butterflies world that they live in because at the end of the day, it's the people who are paying the ultimate price. Yeah, and renewable though, I would ask everyone to consider it what cost I mean, renewable energy at the cost of destroying the very land and animals that live off of that land to put food on all of our tables.
And I think that I want to, you know, you've probably heard about it in Australia, this whole movement for lab-grown meat, even lab-grown produce. I mean, is that truly where we are heading as a world? Are we pushing farmers into a corner that they're not going to be able to get out of? And then I also see deterring young people from wanting to get into farming. Ben, you had mentioned a lot of elderly couples who have farmed the land their entire lives. And when young people show an interest in that and they see how farmers are struggling to survive and put food even on their own table, are they even going to want to look in or show an interest in taking on the next generation of farming. So let's go there. I mean, what do you see from young people who may or may not be inclined to get into farming? No, I think they do, Deb. Farming's very dynamic at the moment. The technology advances that are out there are really inspirational of what you can do with a lot less of what's happening out there.
So generational farms are, yes, certainly the kids are actually keen to come back, but understanding the whole finances of it is really hard because at the moment we're just hit from every angle. And I'll give you an example down here in Victoria's emergency services tax that we're faced with at the moment. So at our way, we're all volunteer firefighters. So country fire authority down here and we volunteer to go out and fight fires on behalf of the fire wherever the fire starts. And everyone does it as the right thing to do by community. Well, our our emergency services tax has gone from our farm here, which is a medium sort of farm out our way has gone from about a six or eight thousand dollar tax that we get paid up to a 24 28 thousand dollar tax that we have to pay. And that's for having us to pay to actually fight fires. We have to still go out there and fight the fires, but we've still got to contribute. We've got 30 35 year old tankers out there with no air conditioners and horrendous conditions out here and we have to put up with that.
This isn't about none of that tax is about actually going back into the community and back into the country fire authority. That's because the Victorian government here, the Labor government's over 200 million dollars in debt. It's going into consolidated revenue. They're just trying to make money off farmers on that on that one tax thing. And that's that's not the only one I think I heard 12 months ago. Victoria's had over 52 new taxes. There's land taxes. There's CGT and all that sort of stuff. That are coming in now. This has been the most tax country in the world because they've got a spending problem. These governments, the government don't know how to stop spending and actually do productivity gains. They don't know how to they don't understand that let free enterprise run its race and they'll actually create the money that actually out there. So we're really taxed to the hill to out here. And that's the issue for for generational kids coming back onto the farm is actually how do you get ahead of that taxing that's going on our input costs and everything we do in farming is so so high at the moment like we could get to maybe $4 a liter Tony here at harvest time and our busiest period our most high consumption time, which is which is harvest time and haymaking and high quality.
And harvest time could be over $4 back in our seating time it got to $3 $350 as well like and then it's calmed down in between but it seems to be that when the the we needed the most is actually to produce the food for the rest of Australia and the rest of the world they start putting the the price of the fuel up and that just takes a margin off it to get so skinny and what we're doing like commodity commodity prices always fluctuate seasons always flux. fluctuate but these sort of input costs that are really overbearing and then all the taxes on top make it really hard to actually make it living in the farming game and as I said it's really exciting what actually technology changes are happening there this and most brilliant actual technology happening in the industry but really being inhibited by what the what the governments want to taxes. Everything you just said everything the Tony's been saying is happening here in the United States as well and I think that was such a fitting title for our show Tony two flags one voice because no matter where you are this seems to be the problem we have this government over each that's taking place I think it really got a foothold during COVID and people sort of coward in fear of their government when in fact the government is there to sort of.
So we're going to serve us you know and that is why we have these elected officials and I'm going to throw out this question do you think that all of these parties in Australia whether they're it's the labor the liberals the nationals are we really seeing two wings of the same bird. So you had a maybe alluded to that then where you said there was some maybe infiltration of the liberal nationals by the labor party and maybe vice versa what do you think on that. I completely think there is a uni party never never thought my life that I'd actually say that but yeah there is a uni party out there that are working together 100% yeah. I take a little bit of a structuralist view on that as well because we'll go to the Rome Statutes and and this is all there to be read it's not mine it's not yours to it's not Ben's writing this is agenda 2021 and you got the Rome Statute where all these countries got together and they said oh well we need to bring up this sustainability goals and those guidelines just you really just got to take one look at what those
guidelines and in short form and Brazinton or the honorable and Brazinton as South Australian politician she raised this in I think is 2013 and obviously people were writing are off as a conspiracy theorist but as we have seen over the last five six years there's there's only six months between a conspiracy theory and the truth but gender 2021 ex-I mean itself it called for the integrated land use planning regulatory mechanism and implementation of these national and state local governments and regulatory bodies and they were out there and they were looking at how they control food whose land they can go on what kind of laws they needed to pass and if you have a look at from a legal point if you have a look not just here but also in the US because I wrote about US false claims back in 2014 so I've got an interest I'm not a US lawyer nor do I give advice in that area but when you have a look at the statutory shape of how legislation has been passed whether it be through the Australian parliament congress and even the European parliament you're starting to see these sustainable development guidelines coming through and they seem to all being this lock step and so when you say I
you know for instance dev you're saying it's happening in the USA we're saying it's happening here I talked to people in Europe and it's like well it's happening here too well is the Rome statute giving effect to national policy then when you have a look at the international health regulations have a look at what's happening there and you're starting to see those policies and they're talking about the control of the media and censorship and that's why getting this information out there and what Ben and the farmers fight back are so incredibly good at that if they're mobilizing at that grassroots as Ben was saying earlier and that's that grassroots that's really starting to get that mobilization of the community behind them and we're going to do everything we can and I think one of the really good things if possible is to get our US brethren and sisters involved here and they're going through very similar issues and getting that information out there then we start to do this like a global fight back and that is where as you were saying Deb a moment ago the power is in the people.
Yeah the power is in the people unfortunately I feel and I hate to be the Debbie downer here but I do feel that people have gotten really negligent of protecting their power and they've just kind of handed it over to the government so I do think it's uphill battle to get that power back but I think you're right on Tony you know if we can just combine forces US farmers farmers and Australia farmers in every country and stand together I think we stand a chance at fighting what we call here we look at agenda 2030 by the United Nations which is very similar to the one you're referring to 2021. You know Ben where next steps here you know you've got this website you've you've amassed quite a bit of volunteers you're getting new volunteers I'm sure every day who are expressing an interest what what else can people be doing to support your cause.
No very good we're actually rallying in daddy Melbourne on the ninth of October so transport industry along with the emergency service and the farmers will be down there just raising awareness to the city people of actually what's happening out there and that's that's all we've asked is to get awareness of people out there so it's not until you really got skin and that you start to understand of what's what's happening like I've got this transmission line. It's potentially to the northeast of my house 700 meters so if you understand bushfires here in Australia 700 meters all of them start to the north and the west I my farm is indefensible out here at the moment if if this line goes through and it starts a fire because there's no air crew can get here there's no ground crew can get underneath the line and all that sort of stuff so it's about awareness to the city as I said on the ninth of October we're heading back there.
We're down there with trucks and tractors and and fire trucks and all that sort of stuff to raise awareness to the city people and that's all we can really do we take every opportunity we can and thank you so much for having us on your podcast and actually raising the awareness over there in America and also here in Australia so we just need to make people aware we'll keep fighting there will be other stuff that they want to come out of swim because these labor governments here in Australia actually just hate farmers they hate what we've got out here and that's all we can do. They just want what we've got so our works going to be cut out in fighting them but if we can organize the people out there and we know that we've got the support we'll keep leading the charge and making sure we fight back as hard as we can and which we have to it's there only it's your only real weapon is to stand at our gateways or take it to Melbourne and we've seen what's happened over in Europe and England and Ireland with the farmers over there and that sort of thing so yeah we just can't be complacent and actually put up with it we've got to start standing up for us and we're going to be able to do that.
And you know resonate to the city people and that of what why we're doing this and what's at stake here their whole food security and affordability is at stake here. Yeah well said Tony is there anything you want to add to that? Yeah, just I think from a political standpoint just adding on to what Ben was saying there. I think The Australian layer of government whether it be in the states or at the federal level They're like a a socialist a slash almost communist type thing It's that one where they want everything except you job and they want all that So I think at the end of the day we really need to characterize this as a case where we do have a free market economy Our farmers work in a free market economy. We can't have them just giving away their land. We can't have these Certain agendas coming through their their literally global agendas that come through and start working their way and infiltrating private property We're on earth
Do you get private property and and all of a sudden the government in Coordination with large private conglomerates start saying well, you know what that that that farm looks really good I want to put some transmission lines through there. I'm going to absolutely destroy Intergenerational farmers the crops and the very things that keep this country afloat Just so we can make a little bit of a profit here Well, I think we do need to stand up and unless we do then we're going to start seeing the downfall of free nations Well said And on that note I once again want to encourage everyone who is listening and watching this to take a look at Farmers fight back.com You can find all the information about what is happening Articles videos, etc And I want to thank the founding mate Ben Ducksson once again for joining Tony Nicolick and I today On America out loud news for our show two flags one voice and I will just say I think we have so much more in common
Whether we live in Australia or the United States or any other country than we do in differences And I think it's high time that we quit letting these political parties divide us as such God gave us freedom and gave us an earth to farm and field and I just really admire what you're doing Ben in leading this I think you were put on this earth at this time in this place to do just this Tony, thank you for helping to lend legal voice to the farmers in this battle against the government and Until next time everyone I encourage you to be good to each other and God bless
