Eps 574 - Could AI Lead to a Real Risk of Creating the Terminator?

I love the movies series The Terminator. At the time of its release it was wildly implausible but with technology today, it seems much likely to become reality. Predicting the future is very difficult and fraught with many twists and turns that make it virtually impossible. Much has made about AI and what it holds for our future. I think I can say with great confidence, that AI will be a huge driver of our productivity and standard of living in the future, but there are potential risks that AI develops in a way that it carries out its own goals irrespective of what the human race desire. This is potentially a very dangerous blind spot that we have and will need address sooner rather than later.
