And I think that you know if are now in future forever quarterback Malik Willis because everybody has moved off that archmaning train after yet another underwhelming performance this past week. If our guy Malik Willis had hit one of those two beat passes that he missed horrendously. Maybe we're having a conversation here because Kyler Murray.

3:05It's not looked fantastic and with the weapons and the level of past protection that you're getting we're going to go into that in a minute the past protection from the Minnesota Vikings has been phenomenal so far this season. You got Kevin O'Connor calling the plays you got that level of past protection and you still are not really lighting it up. I had a lot of confidence coming into the season in Kyler Murray. I was telling people other shows I work on. Connor nerds can be a top 10 fantasy football quarterback. You're going to look out for that. You know the Cardinals are a dog shit organization and so they blew things up and kind of left him behind and blah blah blah blah. It ain't been great so far. So I could still play out that way and I think the gap is closing with our man Malik Willis who had a decent stat line last week again. Man you would have really loved to see him hit one or both of those deep shots especially with how clutch the situation was but that's not what happened. It was actually quite far away from happening. So still working progress on Malik Willis you like what you see though progression wise

4:08it's a very good defense he went against last week and again the receivers he's working with probably arguably people would say that the bottom level of the league they're getting better though when we're going to talk about that in a minute as well. But for now the gap has closed certainly but I'm still going to have to go with Kyler Murray at this juncture what he got from me Robert Burns quarterbacks. I you know what I don't know if I was I was as high on Kyler Murray going into the season because he got shipped off by Arizona for Jacobi Berset and the rookie out of Miami with that organization. I mean Minnesota not a not a whole lot better right now as far as the talent on the field. I think that if there was a place that he was going to be able to kind of resurrect you you have a little more faith in in that coach and in Oconnell and being able to kind of do things with quarterbacks and get them resurrected a little bit talking about Sam Darnel you know being able to then transfer that over to Seattle.

5:11I don't know I don't know if Kyler Murray is that guy now I would have been excited to have Kyler Murray as a dolphin if we weren't going to get Malik Willis right like that was something that was talked about in the off season you know Kyler Murray is available they're going to pay the majority of the salary going to get him from the cheap and the dolphins what Malik Willis understandably so. I think he he is playing better to what he can do like there's only a limit to what Malik Willis can do behind an offensive line that's still growing behind like you mentioned no wide receivers really to mention and putting up any big numbers I think that you know they're going to have a hell of a time especially him going against a Brian going up against a Brian Flores defense which leads the league in sex because they pressure the hell out of you so I think he's going to have a hell of a time I think that from a pure talent standpoint you know I think there's the physicality the size the structure the arm straight like all that's there to have him be able to have the edge over Kyler Murray but I don't

6:16know man I feel like one there's playmakers for Kyler right he's got guys and and we've seen him as little as he is get those little mighty mouth legs moving as fast as he can run around and make some extra plays and and I think you're right like does a certain number one potential draft pick out of Ohio State change things for Malik Willis maybe maybe hits one or two extra passes does that give them the win over Kansas City probably not right like yeah it was closer than last week probably should have been but I still covered picking Kansas City with points so it doesn't really matter how close you were expecting it to be so I think I'm going to go with Kyler Murray I'm this because Malik Willis has number one weapon is out for the season and that transitions us into the next position group which makes it really tough to watch as a dolphins fan but also I mean in the back

7:20your head aren't you kind of like you know what good for you Devon H. Anne like you don't have to suffer through the season you can go rehab as bad as it is to tear you know your ACL you don't have to suffer through this we know you'll be back next year you're under contract just call it a Mulligan right so we asked last week when is it time to either put him on ice or you're right him and apparently the time was last week because nobody's trading for a guy on that contract coming off a tornado CL that's over that's not happening so that's not saying that he's like done and he won't be useful for the dolphins again I hope full recovery and he's back and things are looking good and that's possible with modern technology and modern medicine but as far as like any chance of a trade of trans of any flex or you got him through next year yeah that's over and unfortunately you know I feel cheated because I was like oh here we go finally we're going to be able to pick

8:22a position over the other team and now we can't you know what 90 to you right here and Jones so right at this moment I don't think we can but post game we could say hey you know what it was a little cool you know what I might even go with a tie because Aaron Jones is clearly past his best days average in the three yards of carry right now Minnesota kind of uses the run game is just a different thing to do than the past not really as like an offensive weapon is back up Jordan Mason love that guy a lot as a player but kind of another platter not nothing that I'm super you know we in here in dolphins land we've been talking about all the Gordon and Jalen right for a long time how talented these guys are how good of a system fit they are they're they're stuffed into this backfield behind the all star that is a Chan here we go like we're going to find out they're going to get their chance all

9:22the Gordon had a pretty poor yards per carry last week but he had some really good looking runs especially that touchdown run that touchdown run at the beginning of the game had me off the couch obviously both because of what is effort but the effort of our rookie Kaden Proctor stacking bodies baby and then picking up all he going to toss them into the end zone on top of it but we'll get to the office of light in a minute whoo I was I was hyped I was jacked on that one so you know what I'll go with the tie and then we'll we will let Gordon and Jalen right go ahead and prove us that they do their either do you are going to cash in on that potential that we've all been waiting on or they're not and then we can't pick them against about over anybody ever again but I'll go with a tie for this week just because I feel so cheated that we were going to finally get to pick a group over the other team and now we're not going to well we're not going to pick another group at this one but I'm going to count I'm going to go with you and push but but but for different reasons

10:23right because you're getting Jalen right coming back remember he sat out last week so a little bit of a foot stinger wonder how he's going to come back on that one yeah I'll he Gordon's short and come back in again runs hard but it has always run hard past three years he's been one of those guys runs real hard it's going to run you over and Jalen right going to run around you and so you're going to bank on a guy coming off of you know a little bit of a stinger a little bit of arrest and and be able to go out and and do anything but they're going up against the top five run defense and this is why I think it's going to be tough so the dolphins are going up against top five run defense Aaron Jones who like you mentioned I'm probably the downward end of a career at this point you know still a good stopback you know running back which is fine but also going up against the dolphins who surprise surprise number two in the league gets stuffing the run right and getting that first hit when you're coming in saw that stat earlier this week and I was actually surprised to see that but also encouraged knowing the linebackers that we have so I don't think either team is going to be able to go and say hey we ran for 200 yards this week but

11:28I think both of them are going to be able to say we're able to spell our quarterback a little bit so we don't have to run the ball so much this might be one of those games where I take the under you know not knowing necessarily that a lot of confusion is going to be there for the defense so I think that you know with Aaron Jones at a time he was this a period back but going up against two guys and going up against some tough runs I'll go with you just because I want to be an optimist I could easily also say sure go with the Vikings on this one but guys if you've been listening to the show for three weeks now it's going to be rough sledding I'm picking a lot of dolphins edges on this kind of thing wide receivers I guess this is when we get to get into a little bit of conversation about maybe some future stuff good Chris Bell beginning to do Chris Bell things loved what I saw out on last week they're getting dull such worked in more as well good times loved

12:28what I saw about a development of Chris Bell we're talking about moving into next year Chris Bell Caleb Douglas another year of development both of these guys name he gonna say his name so I'm no I'm no Douglas and next year well okay so that's what we're going right that is starting to be the swell I think it's enough people who are plugged into the draft word dolphins fans I was seeing a lot I was very proud by the way of all the dolphins fans I saw who are now looking at this with a sober and clear vision of what they are not seeing from archmaning people talking about Jeremiah Smith out of Ohio State possibly be in the guy that we should go with top one top at worst number three overall I think is what we can go ahead and go with at this point yeah personally I'm in the take Collins Simmons and bring in a free agent why receiver camp myself because I'm not saying Smith isn't an all world prospect love him as a prospect but one you could argue that our past rush

13:33is actually worse than our why receiver group right now which is you know a crazy thing to say but you could definitely say Collins Simmons came into the season ranked as a top five prospect and he has exceeded over achieved what was expected of him he's a singular destructive force on that Texas defense incredible incredible stuff that we've seen out of him needs to get a little bit mature had a very bad penalty last weekend on sportsman like can't have that but on the other side of it the free agency group next year includes could include George Pickens Pouca Nacua Devonti Adams Stefan Diggs Chawan Jennings those are all guys who obviously there might be some issues with pickings we'll see how things are going I don't love any of those honestly but they're stopgaps go ahead keep going but that's what I'm saying do you go another rookie why receiver out there with guys who are still developing is that the which one is the

14:35better developmental environment to guys who are in the second year in a rookie with a quarterback who's still developing or get yourself a rely I'm not saying go out there and try to get Justin Jefferson ironic or Jamar Chase I'm saying get a reliable second why receiver two why receiver three who can be a captain of the room who can draw the defense who's another guy you have to account for is that a better developmental environment for our two young receivers in a more fair and complete ability to evaluate Malik Willis in then bring in another rookie receiver as highly touted and I acknowledge incredible prospect I think what's more realistic in my mind and and I've kind of talks around this and you guys know and you know I go with get the quarterback until you know you got the man

15:39right you know if there in Mensa continues to keep the non-conversation you take there in Mensa right um do you do you get a wide receiver who can completely change the game and change your your your offense sure I I keep going back to we brought in when I say we the Miami Dolphins brought in the general manager and head coach from the green Bay Packers what position group did the green Bay Packers never pick in the first round the wide receiver right they got one quarter back in the first round and then they were good they got lucky and they were fine with it so the one thing that I and I don't know if that's the mindset that they're going to bring but that's what I anticipate them bring they could change it right they could completely you know throw a curveball but what's that position that that the green Bay Packers still don't really drop from the first round maybe even the second round in most cases and it's wide receiver so if that is their mindset

16:44we got no shot at Jeremiah Smith and they know they're gonna that they would be the team that has the first pick in the draft they know that whoever's behind them already has a quarterback wants the wide receiver they'll trade back for two or three other picks um so I I don't have as much confidence in that as you do I'd be okay with it right I'd be okay with having a having a playmaker having a year removed from surgery Chris Bell having a healthy Caleb Douglas and and see in where that goes uh with another year for the offensive line they'll probably have to fill a right tackle spot at that point come next year but that that's for free agency to kind of deal with um the other question is you're gonna bring in a wide receiver at first pick in the draft that's not a cheap wide receiver that's probably the most expensive group and the most expensive second most expensive first pick in the draft that you could get um because as it stands right now Miami looks like they're gonna get the first pick in the draft that will have confidence at Tampa's gonna keep tankin um throughout the year but maybe so before we get too far down here I think we both agree Minnesota wins the wide receiver

20:00bolder bull the amount of fumbles that this backfield is going to have or the amount of touchdowns that the dolphins are going to score on Sunday because all three of these guys Malik Willis Ali Gordon and Jalen Wright boy they love themselves some fumbles so we know we're talking are we going to score two touchdowns you know because I'm pretty confident there's going to be at least two fumbles so what do you think more fumbles out of this backfield combined my amy dolphin touchdowns I'm going to go with man I'm going to go with touchdowns right like it I'm going to pick I'm going to pick up the mism touchdowns faith in the progress baby yeah I think I think that you know if if Willis is able to kind of get a hot read on on some of these blitzes then someone's going to be open there there might be a chance to you know they give it they get plays they just can't finish

21:03them yeah right the dolphins are getting plays they can't finish them and we talked about how bad the packers are they still scored 22 buckeneers are just you know the hot hot turds right now and and they stayed within a score last week of Minnesota so Minnesota could be one and two at this point if if a couple things go the wrong way so I think you're getting lucky going into a week where I mean they could be 0 and 3 because they kind of lucked out in the Bears game too that was the one yeah that was they could be on three so that was one I kind of gave them a loss on the packers they they they they kind of handled in the first they were down a lot actually closer to the end of the game yeah they handled their business and the other game Packers couldn't close out so you're you're getting a team where you know is is Justin Jefferson hobbled is Tyler Murray not in his best if he's not do they put in Carson Wentz who like he's not going to repeat what happened in week one it's Carson Wentz so you're getting on now that he said he's gonna he's gonna come in the second quarter and throw for 400 years now so I think you're getting kind of lucky going up against

22:06office that may not be able to do a whole lot depending on on you know how how things work out so I think that often's I mean man it's tough for them to leave it's tough for me to confidently say they're gonna score two touchdowns but just for the fun of this game I'm gonna say they're gonna score two touchdowns I got to the touchdowns and they will do so behind an offensive line that is that played pretty darn well last week against a pretty formidable defensive line and pass rush on the side of the chiefs was looking through some scores and some grading earlier on today on some advanced metric Patrick Paul having a pretty damn solid season ranked pretty darn high among tackles Kaden Proctor I had my concerns at draft season but he has been very very good especially for a rookie he's an excellent he actually has pretty much the same grade as Brewer does right now who is under achieving this season but an under achieving all pro level

23:06player is a good level for a rookie in his third game to be at for certain certainly better than the rookie offensive lineman we were watching last year so Proctor and and there's work to be done in the past game but he is a bad dude in the run game all ready barian people at the point of attack at one point like I said that touchdown we scored in the first half picked up not only pancake the guy throw them into the ground but then picked up and and carried Olly Gordon like a like a babe and swaddling clothes across this this goal line Kaden Proctor is doing it all and he's dominant at the point of attack in the run game I love every damn moment of it I was jacked last week all that is a really fun thing to talk about right before I pick the Minnesota Vikings offensive line in this map because they are right now across the board especially in their past blocking grading they're pretty unequivocally the best pass pro offensive line in the league

27:19not playing like one but they're gonna be spotted four games to start the season and I think that the offensive line goes and plays a big role into that despite Jones only averaging three yards of carry and Murray and and Wences you know um only throwing for 400 yards total uh between them through through three games it's it's not a huge deal but it is a huge deal because it could be so much worse yeah for a team that that has that so I think you're right I think you know there's there's a little bit of uh you know some some some dog in Caden Proctor and I love to see it and I had no and I don't think any of us worth worth thinking Patrick Paul is gonna have a down year we only expected him to keep going up and and Brewer's not playing top five center like he was last year but still top 15 I'm kidding you're still about right yeah um yeah the right side of the line I think we both agreed still needs to work and and and that's there are Achilles heel on this offensive line is the right side of the line yeah and I think that those two things go together you know uh Paul

28:22having such a good season like a lot of people don't take this into account but a lot of offensive tackle success and vice versa is like how good is your guard um how good how much help can you get count on from your guard how much do you do a do a do a down blocks with you in the guard team you up uh like a lot of that plays together so I'm not surprised that that Paul from what we saw from him last year with Savineya and his struggles uh next to him is now stepped up to another level where he's you know so far grades wise is in the top 10 in the league uh having Proctor next to him that brings questions about like next year you know you say I mean I think everybody's pretty much ready to move on from the from the Austin Jackson's at their right tackle Proctor is naturally a right tackle possibly in the future in his career left tackle uh so I think that's a debate to have during the off season do we do we because you already have success right now right like doing great at the heart Paul is doing great and is undoubtedly assisted by Proctor doing great

29:29do we mess with that formula do we move Proctor out the right tackle uh I think you could go a lot of different ways and we'll have that conversation at some point because it might be less and less to talk about as the season goes on we hit half time here we head on over to the defensive side of the ball Robert you had something that you wanted to plug real quick talk to the people about it yeah we we kind of talked about this on on on X uh because that's really where we we do a lot of our conversation but myself and my wife gets we're down here in South Florida we are day one club members of the dolphins cancer challenge and that's a 5k I mean you can do 99 mile cycling but we're going to walk to 5k with our daughter and so we're fundraising for that to try and raise money for what I understand is is the largest fundraiser in the National Football League and it's it's a great fundraiser for cancer challenge a very dear friend of ours just lost their one of their parents to cancer and so it has special meaning for us this year and so we're asking any

32:38opportunities unfortunately just week four I don't know if Willis is ready to cash in on those opportunities just yet I am absolutely well well are we going to start breaking the linebackers in the defense of line apart yet because we're there on this linebackers here's the first side brother if you want to run in Brooks if you want our front seven to have any chance at winning these matchups you better keep them combined okay there you go just so unfortunately that we're going to have to go front seven over to the Vikings jaylen bred been having a crazy season so far well-known around these parts all Andrew van ginkel well-known you know coordinator over there Brian Flores the young the young pass rusher Dallas Turner former first front pick having an excellent season as well so if we're going to keep the front seven together we're going to have to go ahead and go Vikings pass rusher's defense of line everybody over there is just

33:44getting wrecking games so far they're the primary reason that they've won the games that they've won is this defense coordinated by well-known entity Brian Flores and these pass rusher's so definitely gonna have to go front seven to the Vikings I agree and Brian Flores clearly is a and maybe he had a rough rough go on and I think he's also admitted that clearly a better defensive coordinator than head coach we talked a little bit about that last week Josh McDaniel's clearly better offensive coordinator than head coach I think he's found his niche similar to vick vangio where you can make a legendary career sticking to one side of the ball and he's doing that in Minnesota these guys you talk Dallas Turner he's got four of the 14 sacks that the defense has in Minnesota they're averaging 13.7 points per game so I'm optimistic at saying the dolphins are gonna score two touchdowns I'm hoping against hope here that they give us something because it's been tough watching this offense and to your point if you can get into that second

34:45level you have a chance at big chunk place and so if if Willis is able to read that and make those really quick decisions hell even run it himself and get past one or two guys break a tackle get a good block you got 15 yards right there I think that there's a chance there but Jacob Rodriguez again yes sir the stash bet is still on par the man's got his first interception tip drill got his first interception last week and everyone seemed to love it and I think that you know when you listen to other guys on the field talk about him they're already talking like he's got he's got everything he's the guy exact Thomas he's by the jersey now guys that's the jersey to get is the Rodriguez jersey he's the guy by everybody on the field and now also getting national attention you're just starting to see some of the national publications and and people who post on X and people who talk football talking about Jacob Rodriguez it's been been between proctor Douglas Bell and Jacob

35:47Rodriguez and we'll see how tough that's bases uh this was an excellent draft so far so far this looks like a tremendous draft uh so can't be mad about that also wanted to show out Jordan Phillips Jordan Phillips having a very good season so far um they're in the front seven he's only guy on the defense of life you need him yeah you need one yeah secondary uh things are still going rough Jason Marshall actually has a pretty damn strong grade uh so shout to him for what he's been able to do zane anderson graded out pretty darn well as well um but still definitely a work in progress and on the other side uh isaea rogers is a top three ranked cornerback right now by the grades have enough fantastic season uh josh and will tell us not so much but that's one guy um that secondary over there is and you know what you also got to take any secondary uh this plan from in the brine floor system a little bit of grain assault they're they're grade because they

36:48are left but naked a lot of times no help whatsoever uh because of the blitzing nature of the defense you know it both helps them in that they don't usually have to cover for very long but obviously when you're blitzing in your blitzing all the time you are leaving vulnerabilities and things are going to happen sometimes uh but asaea rogers having a fantastic season um a lot of good stuff going on over that side still going to have to go Vikings over dolphin secondary that is getting better by the way he is getting better i don't think he has much for an argument um yeah getting better uh to your point you know a lot of the secondary when when you blitz as much you could come from linebackers could come from the secondary as well so some of those guys are you when you're talking but naked they're out there on their own in a lot of cases similar to what our guys are doing but not because we're blitzing so it's a little bit similar but you're on your own because we suck you're on your own just because you're what we got guys that's about it enjoy it enjoy your time out there so um i think here's the thing i feel more confident in minnesota secondary making
