Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobby and have ourselves a drink. All right. And with that, we are back in the lobby bar for the week of September the 14th, 2020, 26, Brian and Michaela with you. And we are back. Football is upon us. So that's good. So that means fall is officially gotten here, I think, although it is still hot, Michaela, how are you doing today? Have you been watching anything good? I think we should we should talk about it. We've been catching up on anything. What do you been watching this week? So I caught up on as much silo as I possibly could. Okay. That was real good. That was real good. And I finally was able to catch up on Ted Lazo, because that came out and you know, they do that thing where they actually make you wait a week for every episode. I hate that. I hate it when they do that. So now that I'm doing their TV shows like TV shows love it. Yeah, right. Like like they did in the old
and days. And so I finally feel like I'm caught up there. And then there was something else. Oh, like season three of love is blind UK came out. And I was able to knock that out and like half a day. That was great. There you go. They all got married, by the way, spoiler warning. Everybody is very good. It's a binge. They all got married. Okay, good. Well, we'll check back up on that. We're going to get married. Yeah. And a year we'll see is that the same as the love island? I am not familiar with my with my love tales. No love island. And just like you're on an island and you want to hook up with people, I think. Okay. I'm not super film familiar. But love is blind is where they take a certain number of heterosexual men and a certain number of heterosexual women. And they have like these dates behind like a screen. So they can't see what they are like. They can't see at all. And so over a course of like three weeks, you're supposed to find the love of your life. And propose to them. And if you do that, then they will let you like meet them for the first time.
Okay. And then you guy you go on a vacation like together and you get married like a month later if if you can stand it. And I got to tell you it's real funny sometimes to watch how that crashes and burns. But it also is really nice to see how it can love really can't be blind where they just they love each other and all that. Right. Yeah. That doesn't sound but problem with dangers at all. That sounds good. That sounds good. Silo, all caught up on loving it. It's turned pretty dark if you're keeping up with silo. We all knew that it eventually was going to and it has boiler warning for Makayla out there. But hopefully you're enjoying it. I hope you're enjoying it. I know your kiddo is wanting you to get into watching that. So that's good. Ted Lasso all caught up with that. My in-laws were here this week. They also watched Ted Lasso. So we watched the newest one together. So that was fun. That was a that was a pretty good time. And yeah, just trying to get caught up because we got a bunch of new movies coming out. We're going to have to go check out here as well. So that's good. And speaking of new movies that are coming out, you know, we're a little bit earlier. I don't really like to get into my Halloween spirit
until like October 1st. That is the official Halloween time for me. Although I've seen a lot of Halloween stuff out at the stores. And we also have a new number one movie. Finally, practical magic too takes the weekends. There goes boiler warning for that. But I thought what we could do, you know, mage to practical magic too was do a really simple kind of witchy cocktail here for the lobby bar because I found this one belish. It is dead simple and it's really cool. Maybe you're getting together with with the pals to watch the first practical magic or maybe you know, you're getting into the mood. Maybe you're ready to go. Like let's let's get Halloween going. So what we're going to be making today, the witch's brew lemonade. And this comes from a delish. This is pretty simple. My game was listen to this. I like to use like a tall like Collins glass for these kinds of things. You know, it's kind of like narrow cylindrical, you know, kind of thing. It's going to help the color change and all that stuff happen pretty good. So go ahead and fill that up with ice. And then we're going to put three ounces. So quite a bit here of the gym, but three ounces of either the Empress Indigo gin or you can use if you have a different butterfly, P blossom gin. Go ahead and use that. But Empress is kind of the most popular ones. You'll be able
to find that. And also I think that that one has like the most like color to it, at least as far as I've seen. So three ounces of that. They're going to go with three ounces of sparkling lemonade. So whatever you want, you could use, you know, spread or seven up or you could get like an actual like fancy like Italian like sparkling lemonade, something like that. Three ounces of that. And it's going to turn, you know, that nice purple color. And then we're going to float a half ounce of blue curacao on top. So just three ingredients. Gin sparkling lemonade and blue curacao. That dark blue of the blue curacao is going to kind of straight down and eventually settle on the bottom. Makes a really cool color change effect there. Nice and simple. What do you think? I love it. I think that this is every bit of delicious and beautiful, but it is quite boozy. So everybody be careful. Because three ounces of gin is is a lot. That's it's basically a martini. It's as much as a martini in there. So just be careful. But yeah, this is beautiful. Only two. It is absolutely. Yeah. Same rule. Only two. Only two. There you go. No one for each of the
sisters. Yep. Yeah. There you go. No power three here. Because you'll end up like me drunkenly telling everyone you love them. I mean, let's be honest. I do that after like the first sip. Anyway, but this is a really good one. I, I've seen a couple of other butterfly pea-bop blossom jins out there. But I have to say I agree with you. I think the color for the, for the emperous indigo is just so special. It really is one of my favorites and it tastes great. So go ahead and give it a try everybody. And if you don't have that, you could also do this with the, the rose-infused one that's kind of a pink color to it, pink peppercorns. That would also be really pretty. But it won't, it won't taste quite the same. This one is, is going to have that hervality and then that floralness that's just chef's kiss. Yeah, for sure. And if you're looking to do like an NA kind of thing, you could also just get some butterfly pea blossoms from, you know, wherever your fancy grocery store, Amazon something like that. And go ahead and infuse the, the lemonade.
Just kind of make like an NA one there. That would be fun too. So like I said, practical magic to you. Takes a weekend here. $30 million. Finally, knocking Spider-Man, brand new day off of its perch there. Number one, the Odyssey runner and coyote versus acne round out the rest of the top five. But we do have some stuff coming out. Okay, let's some stuff that were interested in. One, one that I like and I'll probably catch it at some point because I think that these movies are fun. But let's go ahead and start there. Sean the sheep, the beast of mossy bottom. The Sean the sheep films are always a good time. Always fun. I always got that dry sense of humor. I love Sean the sheep. They're always pretty good beast of mossy bottom. Have you heard anything about this? Are you interested in checking it out? What do you think about Sean the sheep? He's Sean the sheep, the sheep from Winsley Dale. The same. I believe so. Yeah, it's like the art. Is that Armin? Is that the the company there that makes those so? Yeah, that's fun. Okay. Yes, I do like Sean the sheep. I haven't seen it in a long time. I must admit because I have children that are, you know,
that are over the age of like five. But the series, yeah, it's created by Nick Park. Yeah, yeah. Same. It's a spin-off of the Wallace and Grommet franchise. Look, I love Wallace and Grommet. So this is going to be every bit as fun as that and there's probably going to be cheese in it and I'm going to love that about it. So I'm excited. There you go. Absolutely. It looks like they're cutting up a lot of pumpkins in the trailer. So that'll be good. There. We have a re-release of an animated classic here Ghost in the Shell. Not a re-release of that Scarlett Johansson Ghost in the Shell movie. That was based on the the original anime there, but I think it released in 96 here in the US, Ghost in the Shell. So a happy 30th birthday there. You can go check that out. We've not gotten super into anime. You or I, I don't think too much. Maybe that's something we're going to have to dig into and cover one of these eventually at some point here on the podcast. And then we have another one. It's going to be really fun because I'm covering this video game for my next month of drink the video games, but we have Resident Evil. There's been a couple of Resident Evil films out now, but we're coming back with a new one. This one's directed by Zach Kregger, who directed Barbarian and Weapons. That film that kind of blew up a couple years ago. So I think if anyone's
going to make a good Resident Evil film, Zach Kregger should be able to do that. You should be able to do that. I'm actually really excited about this Resident Evil. I think they're like 37 ones that I probably have to watch to catch up, but maybe not. I don't know. I have to do some research to see this as like a new one. I think this is its own thing. Yeah, I don't think it ties into those. Was that Milla Jobovitch? So it was in the original ones there. Yeah, yeah. I'm excited, though. I'm excited because I kind of like this take on this, I don't know, post-apocalyptic, like we're all going to die scenario. That's true. I mean, when you think about it, this happened way before. A lot of those other films happened, right? Like, or a lot of those other ideas happen. So it's kind of neat to go back to an original kind of idea of what that would look like. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, all the way back to 1996. That first game came out as I said, I'm doing some research on it right now. So yeah, I'm definitely excited to see this. Hopefully we're able to make it out and see that. I don't know if we'll see it this weekend, but next weekend,
we're planning to cover it on the podcast. Also, planning on covering practical magic part two on the podcast. So we've got a couple of things here. We need to make sure we get out and see this week. Last week on the podcast, we talked about Mulan Rouge. That was really good conversation about a movie. It's like an all-time or a lot of people's favorite movie up there. We had a good chat about that. And this week, we're going to be talking about one of the classic of classic movies, Western or otherwise, because it's like the 60th anniversary. Long time. It's a long anniversary, but the good, the bad, and the ugly this week, we will try to keep our conversation under the three hour runtime of that movie. Over on Patreon, we've got the end of Oak Street. So I think we're planning on talking about the original practical magic over there. We do Hangouts, all sorts of stuff. That is patreon.com slash your drink of movies. We appreciate our patrons so much. Michaela, it sounds like you did a good job on getting caught up on some TV shows. You've got some travel on coming up. Hopefully you get some good plane movies if you're into a plane movie. Mix up a Witch's Brew lemonade. We'll worry it out. Not well. I'm absolutely going and I'm going to put it in a special cup. No one will know. It'll be
practical magic for me, but only two. That's Michaela's practical magic right there. She gets she gets her Witch's Book. It's just a cocktail recipe manual. So there you go. So I think you were dropping into the lobby bar and we'll talk to you soon.
