OP went on a couples group trip. The other couples parties and slept off their hangovers in the living room, but OP decided to wake up early and do the dishes. But he was accused of being noisy.

He also went on an early morning hike and solo breakfast date, but the other couples got mad because they didn't get an invite.

Is OP the asshat for "ruining" this trip with his "selfish" behavior?

Am I wrong? No, you're not wrong. Am I wrong? You're not wrong, Walter. You're just an A. E-I-E-E-E-M-O-R-O. Am I the asshat? Welcome back, Monday and Wednesdays. We do M-I-The-Asshat and Colleen has todays. Yes, oh darn it. This one is so long. I'm so sorry. But I am going to go with it. We're going to do it. We're doing it. Who cares? Who cares? Am I the asshat for killing the vibe during a cabin trip? Written by Jason Madison. I mean a real talk. Oh boy, I got, okay. I'm going to try to make this shorter as I go. All right. My friends and I, four couples in our 30s, got a cabin for a long weekend. We had a nice cabin where every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. We had plans to go hiking, play games, make meals, grill out, etc. It wasn't our first trip together. We've been friends since high school. The night was fine. We made dinner, had drinks. I don't really drink, but I still had a good time.

I had one beer, but everyone else managed to go through a case and a half of beers. I'm a morning person, so at midnight I went to bed, woke up at 7 a.m. and saw three people sleeping on the couches. Dishes from dinner. We're still in the sink, beer cans all about, so I did some cleanup and then I made breakfast for myself. My wife is a late sleeper, so I'm used to being quiet in the mornings. I had coffee right in a book in silence. Around 11, one couple was up at keeping themselves. Eventually they told me I was being really rude by only making breakfast by myself and being noisy while people were trying to sleep on the couch. I just said, I'm being quiet, but they have rooms they could have slept in and I went to shower. And noona so everyone else was up. We talked about the plan for a hike, etc. etc. Okay, by 2 o'clock p.m. everyone was having a beer. We didn't hike. It's whatever. It's their weekend too. Made dinner, dishes got left out again, games and drinks again.

I wasn't an unwilling participant in this or upset about it, but the next day I was up at 7 a.m. Again. Yes, giving yesterday, I decided I'd just go for an early solo hike and hit up a diner on the way home. One was still asleep when I got back around 11 a.m. I started cleaning up again. One of the girls told me, can you stop that? You're being really rude to everyone and killing the vibe. I asked what she meant and her husband told me it wasn't cool to me to go on a hike without them that I should have invited everyone else to the diner and that I was making everyone feel like slabs for cleaning up. No one else spoke up, but everyone just stared as me as if waiting for an apology or something. Anyway, same thing happened the next day and he said, now the chat has been silent. Did he kill the vibe? Is he the ass hat? 6-5-1, 6-4-1, 1071.

Let's do this. Let's take a break. Let's go to the phone lines. Chris. Chris too. Annie. Emily. 1071. Holly, who do we have first? I'm going to start with Chris. Chris. Welcome to the show. Are they the ass hat? Is that me, Chris or another Chris? You, Chris. That's you. Yay, me. I'm number one. Okay. So, he is not the ass hat. I just came back from a girl's weekend. People go to sleep when they want to. If they stay up as late as they want to, they clean up. They don't clean up. I mean, he's the gym of favorites. So I'm not really sure. It sounds to me like they're probably pretty inconsiderate as well for staying up late and hurting and not putting up extra themselves. So they're the ass hat. Not yet. Thank you, Chris. Number one. Let's go to Chris number two. I, Chris too. You're on the air. Is the person the ass hat? Oh my god. Are you kidding me? It's like a male housekeeper that's taking care of himself and everybody else.

Right. That's sexy. Yeah. But get over it. You all chose to just be zombies and drink and party and he's cleaning up after you. And then being quiet and going for a hike or whatever. No one ever in to complain. Yeah. Thank you, Chris too. Thank you, Chris too. Thanks, Chris too. Holly, who do we have next? We can go to Annie. Annie. Welcome to the show. Is the person the ass hat? No, they are. The reason why they're mad is because he's a giant mirror. Oh, I like that. Explain what you mean by that, Annie. Meaning like, you know, vacations don't happen very often and it's supposed to be indulgent and they were just getting wasted. So he was just taking care of himself. And they're mad because they wanted to be the version of him, but they're just childish. Oh, oh. We just, oh, we made an appointment in Annie's psychiatrist room.

I love it. Thank you, Annie. That was fantastic. I know. Holly, who's getting the final say here? Emily is. Hello, buddies. Hello, buddies. Hello, buddies. Hello, buddies. I actually think the person who wrote in is kind of an ass hat for taking to the media to complain about their friends instead of just going about their business. Why? Who needs that amount of attention? Calm down. I love you, Emily. Emily, you buddy. Hi, buddy. Thank you. Hi, buddy. Hi, buddy. What do you think, Colleen? Um, I don't, I mean, oh, I see I always over complicate this. I can't just do a yes, no question. I want to solve it for them, but I'm going to do my assignment, which is say, no, I don't think he's an ass hat. I also don't think they're ass hats. I actually think this is a completely ass hat free storyline.

This is just a y'all don't probably travel well together and maybe need to set some ground rules. Yeah. Your rhythms, your travel rhythms are not the same. Yeah, they're just not compatible. Yeah, I'll just say on that note, that happens. Colleen and I travel a lot. We travel a lot with friends. I'm not speaking of anyone in particular. I have great rhythms with like I Lisa, my friend Lisa LaCorsia and I, we sleep well together. Like we, we can share a room. We are our rhythms as far as when we get tired are the same. And that was in this case right here. One person wanted to go to bed early. Like the same things we, but I have traveled with other people where are like executive producer Jeff and I have a very similar rhythm. I have traveled with other people who do not do not like a cocktail and have made me

feel guilty or you know what I mean? So I'm with you Colleen and there's no neither of them are an ass hat for feeling the way they feel. I will say however, so my verdict is the guy isn't the ass hat. I will say however, the friends being not even passive aggressive kind of bitchy in their retort to the, to the person like doing the dishes. Okay, just zip it. You know, you don't need to do that. That was where I think the friends are more ass-hatty. Holly Roberts. Same. That's where the friends really crossed a line where, oh, well, you should have invited us. Well, you guys were sleeping off and you're hanging over the previous day. So which way is going to be polite? Is it that, oh, you were too noisy and you disrupted us with being up early or is it, well, why didn't you invite us? You got up early so you can't very, they can't make up their mind. No, that's a good point. Yeah, it just none of you are really wrong, but the friends handled the back end of it

poorly. Yeah, you guys can get different travel buddies. Yeah. That's okay. That is okay to not have the same travel rhythms. Yeah. Just pick different friends. I will say if you're a grown adult and you can't make it to the bedroom, like I just have, I do have a judgment about that. Like, and they said in this that they each had their own separate bedroom and bathroom. Yeah, he made a point of saying that, a bedroom and a bathroom and they were sleeping on the couch. Like, that is teenager behavior. Absolutely. Yeah. Without a doubt. Yeah. So like, if you're not going to act like an adult, I'm just saying like, maybe that's the last time you're traveling with them, sir. I don't know. Yeah. We have a verdict. The results are in. You are not the ass. My name is Wednesdays, right here on the show. Okay.
