Welcome to 7 Good Minutes. Extra. Today we are making a backup queue for one small habit. This is a way to keep an action available when a day changes. Not a rule that says you must do it every day. Pick one action you already want in your life. Say it as a verb. Walk, read, stretch, tidy, practice. Now name the moment when you normally do it. Maybe you walk after work. Maybe you read when the house settles down. Next, name one interruption that actually happens to you. A late call. A changed pickup. A dinner that needs more attention. Choose a common barrier. Not the worst day you can imagine.

Now choose a backup queue. A visible event that still happens on many of those days. Putting your keys down. Closing the laptop. Placing your dinner plate in the sink. Parit with a version of the action small enough to fit that moment and still matter to you. Put it into one sentence. If my usual walk after work disappears, then after I put my keys in the bowl, I will walk to the corner and back. Or use your own action and your own queue. Say the sentence once, slowly, so you know exactly what to notice. When that kind of day comes, try the plan if there is room. If the queue does not appear or someone needs you or rest is the wiser choice, let the day go. If you keep missing the queue, revise it. The point is to make the action easier to find. Not to add another way to judge yourself. One habit. One ordinary barrier. One backup queue. One small action. That is enough for today. Until next time, let's be civil to one another out there.
