It's Friday, September 25th. Here are your five things. Number one, the Norreaster. More than 40 million people are going to face some level of impact from a massive storm this weekend. A storm system that's expected to bring a month's worth of rain to some spots and winds over 50 miles per hour. The worst of this rare early fall, Norreaster is likely to hit late today and early tomorrow

1:00from New York to Providence to Boston. In the out of banks of North Carolina, that system already is made for a mess, even cracking a coastal highway. Virginia is seeing some significant flooding as well. One added factor that people are watching for this weekend is there's a full moon on Saturday which will push tides even higher. Andrews is fishing industry says they're already losing money ahead of this. This is our last week of fluke season so we lost this and our first week of sea best season we're going to lose as well so it's a double whammy. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. There's also a dangerous storm system headed toward Hawaii. Hurricane Nolo is now a category one and forecast to strengthen to a category two or three by the time it passes near the Big Island this weekend. Flooding in mudslides or what is most feared right now, this much is 35 inches of rain in some places expected. Number two, the state visit. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are hosting

2:01a T today for Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife. Then they'll head to the National Archives to see America's founding documents. This is part of the day two ceremonial moments for these two leaders after the lavish state dinner last night. One that raised even more questions about the latest White House fight against the press whose job is to cover and be at such events. Cover him and such events. The White House bar two seat journalists from covering Xi's arrival. That's after a chaotic day of a judge oring the White House to lift its press ban and reissue those press passes. MSNOW was also blocked as the Trump administration tried to pick and choose which journalists they wanted to cover the events. Photo journalists and audio technicians allowed reporters who asked the questions not allowed. Earlier in the day, President Trump even joked that China had the friendliest press corps because they asked Xi for permission to speak. That is of course because China is an authoritarian country, guys. A government that maintains repressive restrictions on

3:02the three press and free speech. So, friendly, not for us work for it. Number three, the AI debate. One key focus of Trump and Xi's visit in Washington is obviously artificial intelligence. The Chinese leaders said yesterday that both countries have the responsibility to manage AI for good. The people who could help do that or the opposite, they were some of the bold named guests at the Big White House state dinner last night among them the heads of open AI and anthropic, which are leading the US and the world in advancing the technology. Also there, the CEO of Nvidia, which provides many of the chips that power this technology and also just agreed by hugging face the open source artificial intelligence platform that was at the center of the wild AI hacking incident that really kicked off this latest wave of fear around just how fast the technology is advancing. Nvidia's science and Wang spoke to Einstein Cooper ahead of the big dinner. He thinks current predictions that AI could soon destroy humanity are overblown.

5:07to accusations of anger management issues accusations at Mary Peltola of administrative staff detailed in the New York Times that the former congresswoman former congresswoman had angry outbursts, cursed at staff and more. One alleged incident in 2024. Here's what the New York Times says. Frustrated that she couldn't find a memo for a meeting. Ms. Peltola shoved a male employee in the chest with one hand causing him to stumble backward. And also that the aide departed Ms. Peltola's team soon after. Peltola denies some of the claims, but acknowledged issues. A spokesperson saying this. Like any person who has gone through multiple personal tragedies in the span of a few months, Mary sometimes struggled to deal with her grief. Well, her mother and husband died within a few months of each other back in 2023. Her opponent, Republican Senator Dan Sullivan, called the allegations, quote, very disturbing. But in a twist, the other Senator from Alaska, Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski, is defending Peltola, calling some of the reporting inflammatory here, though Murkowski is still supporting

6:07Sullivan in the race. Democrats have been eyeing the seat as a key pick-up opportunity in their quest to retake the Senate. One last thing my friends talk about a trip down memory lane. One Minnesota man is putting nearly 400 vintage cars up for auction. Look at this. Everything from muscle cars to farm trucks, some dating back to the 1920s. Tim Wirtish spent years clearly rescuing all of these from a junkyard, turning a childhood love of Tonka trucks into a teenage hobby and then very clearly a lifelong passion that became a massive collection. Now his own kids are getting older and he thinks it's time for a new chapter. And after all of those years of collecting, Tim says the hardest part really isn't watching the trucks leave. It may be watching a piece of family history go with them. Somebody's son and I would drive out here. I'm the guy every morning before school. So

7:10you know he's sad about it's fine. Oh my god I love this guy. Bittersweet absolutely, but Tim says that he hopes his collection now is the source of new memories for a new generation of families.
