Let's go ahead and pray and I will get underway. Father, we thank you for giving us this new Tuesday.

It's not like any other Tuesday in the past. It's not like any other Tuesday in the future if you spare our lives. Father, help us to maximize this moment and learn what Isaiah learned and experience the gospel and share with as many people as possible in Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Amen. And Amen again. All right. So we begin now with what I consider to be the most important thing in today's lesson, which is Isaiah meets. He has a conf- is it a confrontation? Is that the right way? Is it a moment of reckoning? But he has a moment where he experiences the holiness of God in a way that just in an earthly experience, it's very hard to replicate. I promise you. I suppose that is what Moses experienced at the burning bush. But I don't know. This seems like a higher level. I don't know. But you- you- you'll be the judge of that.

But in that moment of vision where he is seeing and experiencing worship in heavenly places, he's cleansed. And then he answers the call of who is going to go for us. God is speaking like who is going to go with this message that I have for the people. And then how he's almost jumping up and down, having been cleansed, having been experienced the holiness of God and what real worship is like. He's like, I am the one. Here I am, send me. And more than half a millennium before the cross, think about the timing. He wrote Isaiah 53 at that time revealing that the Lord laid the iniquity of us all on his suffering servant who has led like a sheep, who was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And so- and so Isaiah was preaching the gospel far before Jesus Christ,

became God with us and lived on planet earth and gave his life for us. And so we're going to look at this encounter that he had though. Isaiah had from Isaiah chapter 6. Isaiah chapter 6 and I'm going to paraphrase the passage and I'll read verses 5 and 6 in paraphrase, okay? Then said, I woe is me. This is when he had this encounter with God and knowing that he is like completely unholy and woefully under, under prepared to do anything God wanted him to do. He said, well, is me for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips. And then the Bible continues then flew one of the seraphims that God's command to me, having a life coal in his hand. And the Bible says that with that life coal, the angel said, be hold now your or the angel did his job. And then and now the announcement is is given. Now you are you are clean.

You're clean now. You're clean. This has touched your lips and now you are cleansed. That means to be purified and made pure. And so Isaiah saw God's holiness and then he saw his own holiness in the same moment. You see when the Bible says, how be it when he the spirit of truth is calm that he will guide you into all truth. The Bible is saying that the all truth is about God and the all truth about you. The all truth about God is that he is 100% holy. He is 100% just. He is 100% good and clean. The all truth about you is that you're poor as a human being like me. Poor, miserable and naked and blind and don't even know it. So I'm thankful. I'm thankful that God has given us the privilege of being of being in his presence so we can see

so we can see his holiness and then see where we need him in our lives. And of course we don't just see it. Now God makes provision. He makes provision. Okay. And so and so the one who exposes our need is the same one who purifies and sends us. He doesn't leave us the way he found us. He purifies us and then he empowers us to do his will. So this is what we need to do with this. Come into his presence honestly today. Come before God honestly and say, God, I don't know what to do with this. I know that I am unworthy on my own. I know that I am woefully under prepared to do what you have called me to do and receive the cleansing he offers before he sends you out. Receive that by faith and say, God, I know that you can cleanse me. I know that you can equip me. And then I know since that's the case that I can go out and be the kind of great that you have called me to be.

It's not for my glory, but for yours. Is there something that you're working on right now in that regard? Like is there somewhere that you are seeing that God wants to transform your life and you are starting to notice, wait a minute, I'm having this encounter. God has made himself available. Get along with God and then and then move forward by faith, move forward by faith. So the beauty of this is when you see Isaiah, he is coming off of a disappointment. It's an incredible disappointment because because in this story, because Isaiah or Azaria and Isaiah, that's the same person he has died. And this was an incredible time in the people of God's history while he was living for most of the time because there was prosperity like there was peace. There was really a good time. But then the king decided that he was good on his own. And the Bible says like when he

saw himself in that wisdom, like his own wisdom, that's when his life went right down the tubes. And when he died now under the judgment of God, the people were like, whoa, what just happened? Now he's dead. And God is giving Isaiah an encounter. Among many things, God is saying that even though I set up kings, I also bring them down. Even though I have allowed you all to be led by other human beings, I'm the true leader. So if a person or not here, you need to be guided by my Holy Spirit to be listening for my voice and to be moving forward in faith based on what I have called you to do and not dependent upon any other human being. This is why God removed all other things from Isaiah's view except an encounter with God and an encounter with or reckoning with his own need. So ask God today on top of everything we've already said, God, is there anything in the way right now that's causing me to miss those

moments with you where you were speaking to me where I am truly worshiping or I have no regard for the things of this life for this moment because now I'm in your presence. And if there's anything distracting me, God, will you show it to me and then remove it or help me to remove it as the case may be. Whatever that reality is for you, I want you to begin praising God for that now and as soon as we're done, go ahead and have that reckoning with God. Y'all make it a great day. Peace. Thanks for joining us, listening friends. Always remember, we cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This has been your daily portion with Ella David Harris. Make it a great day.
