Director Martin Zanvliot just landed back in Copenhagen after his first TV series, Harvest, hit the screen at Caniseries. Two episodes of the seven-part Danish drama screened in competition, even though later ones aren't fully edited yet. He's the writer, creator, and director, calling it a fresh step from his films like Land of Mine. Star's Katrina Greiss Rosenthul as the youngest daughter, Astrid, Elliot Cross at Hove as her brother, Eric, and Lars Brigman. It follows a farming family ripping apart when Patriarch Gorm hands his Feldomgarde farm to Astrid instead of Eric during Gorm's 65th birthday. Bash. Folks are dubbing its succession with tractors, though Zanvliot isn't sold on that tag. Zanvliot said, premiering at Khan felt amazing for him and the team, seeing it play out with a live crowd. They shot mostly outdoors during magic hour, making it super cinematic without blockbuster budgets. DR Drama backed his vision fully as the Danish pubcaster and producer, with new eight-year-op shipping and funds. Harvest wraps its first season soon on DR, but Zanvliot's eyeing more TV ideas depending on how this lands. As a feature guy stepping into series, he dug the process and wants to keep that momentum rolling.
