About this episode
“We are back for another week of off the rails. I'm Asia probably with Eric Jenkins today is Sunday September 27th Eric How are ya? We had a big we were supposed to have a huge noriester.”From the transcript
A nor'easter that didn't deliver brought Eric Jenkins to the microphone slightly dehydrated, slightly tired from a night with the boys, running a maximum of four miles this week, and with a 3:30 marathon goal that may have shifted to four hours or something in that vicinity. The episode goes extremely Off the Rails from the start. Buckle up.
Discussed in this episode:
– Eric's marathon update: He is running. Four miles is the current long run. The 3:30 goal may have shifted.
– Chicago live show is sold out! Waitlist available for those who missed out. Check it out here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/off-the-rails-live-in-chicago-presented-by-under-armour-tickets-2002158580210?aff=oddtdtcreator
– The Avengers and Disney Channel original movies rankings
– The Strait of Hormuz is still closed and Iran was offered a seven-day plan. Trump said it was unacceptable.
– CNN headline: "Kash Patel Defends Removing Bestiality as Automatic Disqualifier for FBI Applicants." Both hosts process this live.
– An update on the Lindsay Clancy case: Mistrial declared, one holdout juror. The holdout is being attacked online.
– Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, and the shaved head: Macklemore spoke out in support of Palestine at a show. Robert Kraft's venues made clear they wouldn't host the tour with Macklemore opening. Ed dropped Macklemore. Macklemore donated over a million dollars in tour earnings to Palestinian organizations. Ed apologized emotionally at a concert and shaved his head.
– Berlin Marathon results: Tigst Assefa wins in 2:11:04 — third-fastest women's marathon ever. Won by almost six minutes. Was on world record pace deep into the race but faded slightly in the final kilometers.
– Chicago Marathon preview:
Men's highlights: Jacob Kiplimo (2:00), Amos Kipruto (2:01), Bashir Abdi (2:03), Charles Hicks (2:04), Clayton Young going for the American record, Vinny Mauri (self-coached, ASICS just signed him, soloed 2:05 on a bike path), Galen Rupp + more. The American record is genuinely in play with this field on a favorable day.
Women's highlights: Twelve women sub-2:20 in the field. Bridget Kosgei returns to where she broke the marathon world record. Sharon Lokedi with her PR of 2:17:22, going for a flat course time — genuinely going after something new after dominating on Boston and New York's hilly profiles.. Emma Grace Hurley is coming off a massive Copenhagen half just three weeks ago.
– Josh Kerr time trial dropped:
– Voicemails: A caller from Hawaii asks about the handicap format, world record potential, and other distances that might work in a handicap race like the Merrie Mile; Gabby in Burlington asks whether either host ever wished they'd had a rehearsal for a moment in their running career; Christina in Oakland wore her This Gig Is Hell cap to a playground meetup with fellow parents; A caller says she is running a spite marathon from a recent divorce and was invited to the NYRR gala the Thursday before the New York City Marathon and wonders if she can go without a plus one.
– Coming up: Chicago Marathon and the live show. Eric's training this week. Cycling World Championships results.

We are back for another week of off the rails. I'm Asia probably with Eric Jenkins today is Sunday September 27th Eric How are ya? I am doing good a little tired. We had a big we were supposed to have a huge noriester. I don't know if you heard this. Yeah, what's the deal? Yeah. East Coast was and you know New England was supposed to be getting slammed by a storm at a century type shit. I think I'm a little bit underwhelmed but I've seen some videos some some cities some coastal places they're devastated right so they're not they're not underwhelmed they're been overwhelmed but I was expecting more.
Yeah, it's a real you know prepare for the worst hope for the best kind of thing and I just it didn't live up to the hype. Yeah, I thought it was going to be like yeah, I thought you were going to tell me that you haven't left your house in days. Oh, no, I haven't I haven't left my house in days. I haven't left my house in days because Camille Heron started an only fan and I've just been jacking. Like all day non stop. What do you think she's doing on there? Oh, I'll tell you what she's doing on there. No, I don't know. What an interesting move. I haven't seen I haven't seen any of the content yet. I don't know if you've got the leaks. Send them over. But she's going to be mad you're not paying.
Yeah, it's um she and she really I was this was brought to my attention a few weeks ago like she'd been kind of she really did it right as far as marketing and PR like she really hyped it up. Yeah. And uh, yeah she and then she came through and now she's doing only fans I guess. What do you have to say? What do you have to say about it? Make make your money girl. Do what you got to do. I just I'm curious what the content is like because I hear only fans and I only think one thing. I mean, yes, I think that's probably what everybody thinks. Yeah, I know I know some people do like they put just like you know content that that you know just behind it's like it's a way to put content up behind the Seas. Yeah, behind the scene stuff. It's not always um sexual stuff. I do think I think in Camille's case it is I think it's a mix of a little bit of everything.
Oh, you do. I think I really I guess I just have if that's the case, I am not I was not familiar with her game like I didn't know she I didn't know she could go go that way. You didn't you didn't think she had it in her you didn't think she had it only fate only fans phase in her. I look well don't that this is here to I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum you know we you never know you just never know. That's why you don't judge a book by the that by its cover. Because you never know you never know when they're going to start up and only fans. Any moment any moment. Hold on. Once again, I'm very dehydrated. I'm about to pop a salt. Oh wow. Faulted watermelon. Oh man. Have a little bit of sip of water get some electrolytes going get some electrolite. Electrolites be vitamins solve.
It enhances every sip of water really good stuff. Go to try salt dot com right OTR 10th 10% off everything get your stuff it's really good. Can I hear is this are we rehydrating from a late night are we rehydrating from a long run a big workout what what is a little bit of a little bit of a long night. Okay, little bit of bopping around with the boys with the boys a little bit of fun night before you know quote unquote the storm hit. Okay, now I am I will say this I am running. Okay, okay, okay, I'm going to be cool about it. I am running as of now knock on wood hold on. So the marathon is back it is back baby.
We're so back we're back it's I've I've got just over a month. So the time it's it's tight we're kind of we're going to be very close. And but now we're hydrated but now we're at the very least we're healthy and we're hydrated. Okay, and my goals may have shifted. We don't know if it's going to be we're trying to 3 30 just might be out off the table right now. We'll see how the next month goes. That's okay. It's okay. I'm trying and I'm coming in terms with that. Maybe it's four maybe it's four hours for me. Maybe it's four plus I don't know. Okay. But we'll see how the next month goes. We'll see how some of the long runs go and we're going to play it by your but I am up I am running. I've got my salt and I'm getting hydrated. And that's about all you can ask for. Truthfully.
I mean, let me know if you need me to order you some more like I've got my 10% off. I work for good to go. It seems like you're you're really heavily using it. So OTR 10 for 10% off your entire order at salt try salt calm. Thank you for supporting the show and supporting Eric. Thank you. Supporting Eric's sprint build up to the New York City marathon. Yes, I need myself because I'm absolutely dehydrated from jacking off to Camille Harris. Only fans for the entire weekend stay. I need to replenish. He went out. He in fact did not go out with the boys. He has not been running. He's just doing one source of training and one source of training only. You can just see you can just see like my form is throbbing. It's just pulsing. Thank God. Totally.
Yeah. So yeah, between Camille Harris, only fans and running and biking I am getting in a lot of training. Great. How far have you run this week? What's your for this run? Four miles. Okay. We're back. I'm not going to judge you because I know that we've been through some stuff and now we're trying to come out there to the other side. Yeah. I'd love to get, you know, we're going to be in Chicago coming up with all of our friends. That'll be a good opportunity to get a longer run in there. Yes. You know, it's always the running is always much more fun with friends. Maybe that's what you need. So Wilverin 15 on Saturday and he wants to do I think 18 on Saturday in Chicago and like, it just could be a thing where you are just feeling great and you go 13. Like you, you just don't know.
I think, you know, you're doing a lot by yourself. Sometimes that's just hard. It's just hard to keep going. It's hard. I always feel like when you're coming off of an injury, it's so much better to run with people because you're not doing like a body scan every 10 seconds. Totally. So I think this is going to be great for you. Speaking of Chicago, where our show is sold out. Sold out to everyone who got tickets. We finalized the t-shirt design this week. It's looking great. We have our friend Sam Murphy designed a great looking shirt for you guys. We're going to be working with Under Armour for the live show. I assume there's a wait list. So if you didn't get tickets early enough, add your name to the wait list. Certainly some people might not be able to come. So get on the wait list. We're so excited.
Tons of swag for the show. Lot of swag. Yeah. I'm going to be super fun. We'll have Sharon Luccetti and her Pacer. Yeah. It's. It's. Yeah, I saw it's Sharon back. Jacob Thompson. I didn't know he. So he. He's. You know, incredible athlete in his own in his own right. But he's pacing Sharon for Chicago. Oh, great. Yeah. Yeah. Which I think will be such an interesting dynamic to be able to talk to them about what this will be like. Oh, yeah. Well, what does she has you like said what kind of pace she's going for? I haven't heard. But she's conquered all of the hard, really challenging courses in the world with the majors.
And then. And she did really well in Paris. Fourth at. The Olympic Games. It's always the worst position to be in. But. Has proven herself on these really challenging courses and now is going for a fast time in Chicago. territory for her. So we're really excited to to be able to hang with her a few days before the race. Is she, um, is she one Chicago? She hasn't even run Chicago before. But she never run. Yeah. This will be she's because how many of the majors she's won Boston. New York and Boston. She's won New York. She won Boston twice. She's won New York. She's like never off a podium at a major, but she's been running Boston and New York like every year essentially. Yeah. I mean, it's tough. It's like you go you show up to Boston and New York and you win them. It's like they will you have to do those races now. Like sorry. Yeah. It makes a lot of sense. But now she's like, yeah.
She's like Thanos gathering all of the infinity stones in terms of the world major marathons. So she needs she needs this Chicago infinity stone to add to the glove. Exactly. Oh, yeah. I don't completely get that reference, but yeah. Yeah. Is that a vengiers? That's a vengiers. Good job. Yeah. Okay. So you've never seen a vengiers. Okay. One slightly odd thing about me is like really big, loud action movies put me to sleep. Um, so I don't. I didn't. Yeah. I'm not sure I've watched an entire vengiers movie. Like I'll watch a bit in the beginning. I'll fall asleep for most of it and then like maybe wake up right at the end. So I don't really know the plot line of the Avengers. I'm sorry. So Avengers is like a nice melatonin to you. It really is. Like I don't know why I like these are the the movies that I should
be putting on for international flights. Like just lowly straight to sleep. I don't know what it is. It's just it could be in the movie theater too. I just get a little sleepy. And it's specifically with big loud action movies. It just it just doesn't do it for you. Not at all. Not at all. Yeah. I just get really sleepy. Yeah. Okay. So um, so you and so you're a problem at it. And in this movie, you fell asleep before you got to the Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Okay. Gotcha. Yeah. Like it sounds relatively familiar. But I'm not. I know. Yeah. I have no idea what was going on. It's somewhere floating around in your subconscious. But it's just not the it's not the forefront. Yeah. I heard it at like, I don't know, 30 decibels, but then really sink in. No, you're you're in like rap. You're in rem at that point. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Um, no, so back to um, sharing winning the Chicago Marathon, I'll be, um, I'll be a huge one. No pressure. No, we're just excited to see. Yeah. We're just excited to see what she's got. I mean, it's fun to see athletes try. We talked about this all the time, but like different tactics, different ways to try to win going out of their comfort comfort zones, like running different distances. And then in this case of Sharon, like running a different style of marathon, um, she takes down women with insanely fast pd's all the time, but doesn't have, you know, the low to 11 to 13 to whatever that a lot of the competitors coming in and trying to challenge her at New York and Chicago or sorry, New York and Boston have like she's that's it what she needs is the stone for her infinity bracelet. I close enough. Love.
Love. Yeah. Love. Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah. What have you seen the start list yet? I'm sure their Chicago always gets a pretty stacked fields. I'm very it's going to be it's going to be very good. I'm excited for a lot. I'm I think Clayton Clayton young had called out said he's going to shoot for the American record. Yes. We'll be very that'll be very fun to see if he can get it, but there's another guy in their Vinnie Mori. Right. I know if you're from the most of the more he's work. I just saw he signed with A6. Yeah. Just fresh off just inked the deal. Two of I don't think he's run a marathon since he ran to like he like soloed two of five. Um, on a bike path on a bike path in St. Louis. I think that's where it was. But meant I think I mean, I'd be insane if if he could get it, but you never you never really know. His straw,
he's also somebody who puts out some insane workouts on Strala absolutely crushing it. Are you bringing up the fields? Yeah. I'm bringing up the fields. I'm trying. Bank of America, Chicago Marathon press releases. Now I'm looking for like Oh yeah, here September 22. That's we want the most updated information because we've We've lost a few and gained a few I believe. You know where I should go. City as mag Instagram. Nice call. Very nice call. Yeah. I just had McDonald's and let me say, um, it's hitting me like it's no lunch. Um, I really got yeah, it's hitting me like kind of like a freight train and but kind of in a nice way. I'm liking the feeling it's it's like really mellowing me out.
It's like maybe a little a little bit sleepy. Um, I did a double quarter pounder. That's my that's my number. That's my my go to right double quarter pounder. Um, and then a McChicken and um, and some nuggets. Wow. Okay. So you've got a lot of protein. Of course, and through your bands. Oh yeah. I'm I'm I'm ready to go. Ready to rip. Now will you have any GI distress from this? No, I've got. Um, I've I've got the the really intense got microbiome. Right? That I've that I've worked very hard at at culminating. It's like a star. You know, like you you you got into into baking during the pandemic. I'm assuming me last sourdose. I made some sourdough. Yeah, for sure.
And you had like the really nice starter. Did I lose you? Oh, I can see you. I saw I think I lost you for a second. Um, but anyway, that's sourdough starter. That's when it's bubbling away. That's why I imagine is my stomach. And I'm just dropping in quarter pounders, spicy McChickens. And it's just dissolving right away. And it's just it's just eating it all up. And we're good to go. What a sight. What a sight that I'm conjuring in my mind. You can picture, right? Yeah, I can. Um, did you ever watch the movie Asmosis Jones growing up? I think I did. That was like something that I think they show us that in like school. Right? I love dust. As Jones. Why don't you hit me with the plot again because I it's not it's not coming to me right now. Yeah, so I say I say I yeah, um, and it's like a car
it's a cartoon. Um, and so this movie was released in 2001. Um, Chris Rock is the voice of Asmosis Jones. Um, the, I mean, the voice acting cast is incredible. Bill Murray's in it as well. I know. Yeah. And basically it's, uh, yeah, this body gets infected with something. And it's like an action cartoon, which I can stay awake for, uh, where they're trying to shut this, this virus down in this body. And that is how I view my body. Like when I'm thinking anything is happening, I view my body and cartoon form in Asmosis Jones cartoon form. Like white blood cells mobilize attack the virus. Like that is how completely how I view what's happening within me. It's all in and it's all animated. It's kind of friendly and fun. Friendly and fun. Yeah. Yeah. Like you, you take a Tylenol and then all systems go to like
transport the Tylenol where the Tylenol needs to work. Like that is how I picture myself. And when I would be injured, I would be imagining like these little cartoon people, like mending and like sewing up my tendons. That's just how I pictured it. That's it. So needless to say, Asmosis Jones really had an effect on you. Here I am at 36, believing that my body is made of cartoon cells. Yeah. I mean, there's probably no other movie that's impacted you in the same way that Asmosis Jones has. Yeah. I mean, I feel like we like not to go on a whole diet right here, but I just feel like we had superior kids programming. Like Asmosis Jones, yeah. I agree. The Magic School Bus, Bill Nye, The Science Guy, like these are, these are my people. Like we really had it good. And like the Disney channel growing up, like Disney channel original movies.
Oh yeah. Johnny Simaani. Johnny Simaani. The like, let's watch a Disney channel movie. Disney channel movie. Yeah. Yeah. And they're flicking the glow. They're flicking the glow sticks around, making the ears. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Those are good. Those are really, really good. Really good. Okay. What's your favorite? Have we talked about this before? What's your favorite Disney channel movie? What's the one? I like smart house, but I also liked what's the one where they were on roller skates. And it was like, brink. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brink was sick. Team pup, team pup and suds. Puppet and suds. Yeah. Yeah. And then what about you? I think brink is great. I think my number one has got to be Johnny tsunami. Johnny tsunami. Yeah. That was just a banger. Right. Yeah. But then they're all, but they're all like something fun about them. Smart house. Yeah. There's one where,
let's see what there's luck of the Irish. There's one where the guy became a mermaid. Do you remember this? Evacally, vaguely. I got a phone call instead of going through puberty like a normal kid in high school. He like, because through puberty and becomes a mermaid. He was called to the ocean. Yeah. He was on a swim team. Yeah. I think it's called like, um, on the name, at the name, I can, it's like year 13 or something. Um, but anyway, it's like, that that stuck with me. They're all great stuff. Love them. All great stuff. Yeah. I mean, what a like, we would also talk about them at school. Like it was, yeah, it was really good stuff to even Steven's movie. Yeah. Yeah. Even Steven's is a classic classic. Yeah. Wow. Jet Jackson. I mean, oh, mom's got to date with a vampire. That
was a big one. I'm not familiar with mom's. I date with a vampire. Johnny tsunami smart house. Oh yeah. We were really in it. Um, when was Zena and girl of the 20? Yeah. Zena and girl of the 21st century. Big. She was big for me. That was a good one. Yeah. That was good. Oh, yeah. The 13th year. That's exactly what it was. 13th year. Okay. Yeah. Oh, Halloween town. We've, yeah. Hit after head. I need to hit after head. I need to get Disney plus for a little bit and just run these back. You think they've got them on there? I would, I would very much hope so. One thing about having a little bit of an age gap in my marriage is that I don't think he's seen any of these. That can't. He hasn't seen any of the Disney channel. Or he's nice. I'm sure he hasn't. So you get to show him the 13th year. And it'll be, he's gonna make this show stupid. I'll do the world. Yeah. I mean, or he's gonna be like, this is sick. Well, he's not gonna say that.
We'll solve all the classic Disney's, right? Like the Lion King. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But like he wouldn't have, he wouldn't have, he wouldn't care about these when they were coming out. There was also a little bit of a moto cross movie. A moto cross movie. Yeah. Yeah. But with the brother got injured and his twin sister was like, I'll take over. I'll take it from here, buddy. And just shaved your head, dyed her hair. And the parents were furious. They said, they said, girls don't, don't dirt bike, right? Get in the kitchen. And she goes, no, I'm getting, I want to do this. This is my dream. And I'm just as good a rider as any of the other guys. And you know what? She got dimless. Okay. And, and it was a beautiful story. And the parents of events, of course, they came around. They said, we're wrong. We love you so much. We're so proud of you.
Motocrossed. Motocrossed. And the brother was like, well, you kind of just stole my life. You stole my entire life. So I'm, I'm conflicted with how I'm feeling right now. You stole my, you really have stuff. Took my social, my social security number. And you've committed fraud. And lawyer up. I'm going for everything. Yeah. So yeah, I get to show will that be very. I get to show them. I get to show them. Yeah. We started hacks this weekend. I know we're like several years behind. Good show. Have you seen it? I've seen the first, I think I saw the first see, I did definitely saw the first season. Maybe saw the first two. I like it. It's good stuff. It's good. It's really good stuff. Yeah, I'm into it. I really am. What else? We can go to the, we can go back to the Chicago fields in a little bit. But I think like because we
we now are derailed, we can talk about some things that we saw in the news this week. Okay, let's do that. I would like to prefer to do that to be told. Yeah. Well, so first and foremost, the straight-of-former is still closed. Okay, it's still closed. Got it. It's still closed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Iran offered another sort of, let's, I think it's called a memorandum of understanding or something. Here's a plan that we can open this bad boy in seven days and Trump said unacceptable. So the straight-of-former is you heard it here first is still closed. Did Trump say why it was unacceptable? Who knows? Not him. Yeah. Probably not him. I looked at it a little, like looked at the statements a little bit and it was like, okay, but this is really similar to what we all said a little bit ago, the summer, but I don't know, Trump says unacceptable. So we
continue. I saw also, didn't he say at, was it at like a UN hearing that he was with Iran there that he was going to wipe him off the face of the earth recently? Yeah. Yeah, it's going really well. It's going really well. It's a classic thing to say. Yeah. We're going to wipe you off the face of the earth. Okay, well, they're like, look, that kind of talk isn't going to get that this straight opened. K-Pell. Yeah. Let's clean this up. This is not in the spirit of collaboration and diplomacy. Let's be, you know, let's try to figure this out, but. Yeah. So that kind of, to that kind of language will keep this straight closed for a bit. For a bit. For a bit. Still closed. We'll keep us abreast with how that goes. I'll keep you abreast. Yeah. Yeah. Once it's open, you will be the, you're going to be my first text. Yeah. Once it's open, we'll be going right over there. We'll swim on through. We're like canoeing straight up for moves. It's, I'll be going to
tourist destination. We'll get the oil ourselves. Yeah. Cut out the middle. Yeah. Okay. Did you see the cashmaterl thing this week? No, cashmaterl. What did, what did, what did cash, good god, what did cash do this time? I believe that it's something I sent you a link. Okay, honey. And I would like for you to open the link and, and share with the class. Share with the class. Okay. What's this on Instagram? In our shared note. Okay. Got it. Yeah. Let's see. Second. It's a bit of a jump scare. I, I will admit. Okay. Here we go. Whoa. Here we go. See, this is,
hot off the press, CNN, cashmaterl defense, removing B. Sheality as automatic disqualifier for FBI applicants. That is, that is a headline right there. Wait, so, I read it out a lot, but it didn't quite take into information. So he removed, so B. Sheality was an automatic disqualifier for FBI applicants. That makes sense. That, that seems to make sense to me. And then seems fair. That seems just, that seems a little bit fair. Okay. So cashmaterl removed that actually isn't an automatic disqualifier. He says he, he, he, he should be able to do it. Yeah. Saying that it's okay. Oh my good. It's okay to have sex with the animals. He said the animals are there to be had sex with. So there is this, this back and forth with Senator John Kennedy of like,
basically saying like, what? Yeah. This, there are some really, there are some, some great quotes from Senator John Kennedy. Like, why would you even get into, get into it? And cash says we're not into it. But then Kennedy like cuts them off and is like, but okay, I know you're not, but you changed the qualifications and mentioned this as like, like explain yourself. So it like the, the back and forth, there's a video of it. It's probably gold. What, what, what about the B. Sheality? Same thing because the regs wrote it up in a fashion before I arrived that address prostitution B. Sheality and trafficking. They were there before I got there. They, tell me what it said before.
It automatically disqualified any individual who participated on either side of it. Obviously, we are never going to hire the criminal. The B. Sheality. Yes. So you disqualified the animal? Well, I don't think we, we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualize. I understand. I'm trying to understand why you did this. Have you, this is not directed at you, Mr. Director. And I understand the game. People try to make you look bad. We do the same thing when, when the other parties in office and all this stuff is really hurt the FBI. It's really hurt the FBI. So I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. Why would you, why would you, in light of the, of the context, and what we're going through and we're having a tough time attracting agents, good quality agents,
we all can trust because so many people, fairly or unfairly, think that, in order to be an FBA, FBA agent now, your political point of view matters. Why would you even get into B. Sheality? We, we are not in to B. Sheality, but a lot of these individuals, I know you're not, but you change, you change, but I'm trying to explain it. Hang on. You change the qualifications and mention B. Sheality. It's a, if, if Joe, if Joe participated in B. Sheality, not as the animal, but as the human. Don't you like he ought to be qualified, disqualified? If he voluntarily did it, sure, but if he was trafficked into it, how do you involuntarily do it? And a lot of these cases, when human traffickers who are some of the worst individuals on planet Earth, they don't just traffic you for prostitution, they traffic you for degrading acts of all kind, and they force you into that type of conduct. And some of these individuals would go on to be law enforcement officers,
who qualified to be law enforcement officers and later applied to the FBI. I mean, it's absolute gold. I highly recommend watching it. But so cash basically, like his, his explanation, it's like, well, I'm not into it. Definitely, I'm definitely not. Definitely not. But, but I can see how someone is some, some victims of trafficking could be victims of this. And so we don't want to exclude, we don't want to exclude. Okay, so he's saying that like people like people who have been trafficked, like maybe forced to have sex with animals and that would disqualify. I just feel like the Venn diagram of folks that have had that experience and that are applying to the FBI might be pretty small. I'm sure it is a very, a very small population of the people who have been trafficked that have also had sex with animals
that are also applying for the FBI. Yeah, I bet that is kind of like a number on the lower side, for sure. I also think there's, I think there is, um, ideas also easy to explain. Right. Like when it goes, hey, how do you have you had sex with an animal on the FBI application? Also against my will. Yes, there's that. But for so, who's answering yes on, that seems like just an obvious, is this like a lie detector test? Like who's I have never applied to be an FBI. So I don't know what it's like, but I assume it's pretty hard. I guess I'm I'm picturing a multiple choice test and they go have you had sex with have you had sex with an animal and your your number two Taikander Oga is hovering and you just
know what to circle in. You're like, oh, I know, I know the correct answer is no, but I I want to be honest and say what I, you know, my sexual my sexual history. It's because I'm thinking like, okay, so you lie on it. Like who's coming to testify against you, you know, the dog, the family dog or like the goat. It seems like it's something like why why is this the cross that cashmotelle has taken up to bear? Like this is the only work he's done. This is the only thing that's got the right. Like like instead instead of going after the Epstein list and and getting to the bottom of that, he's like saying that having sex with animals actually isn't that bad.
It's actually not as bad. It's not as crazy as you think, right? Hear me out. He's like, he's like, here, yeah, guys. I got a little sex with animals is okay. Okay, a lot, a lot is wrong for sure, but I do think there should be some wiggle room in this. You can't say that word. They can't say wiggle room. There should be wiggle room. They're like, I don't think there is wiggle room in this catch. He's like, well, good thing I got final say. And I can do it with the fuck I want. It's like, we don't want we want sexually experienced people in the FBI. Right? It's like the next question cash ass is like on the FBI application, it's like, what's your body count? And he goes, are we the person goes, are we including animals? And, gosh, oh, certainly.
Certainly. Maybe you should get checked out. That's who's running the FBI. That's that's a great. Okay, so it looks like, um, somewhat it's like, I was going to say, I was like, he didn't, if you get arrested, that you're out of the running for FBI, right? I always, I always heard there was some rumor. Maybe it's like just a rumor, but it's like, oh, if you've done drugs, you smoked, we bought a lot like you're, you're not eligible for the FBI. So it's like, you're arrested. You're out of the running. Yeah, I think you're, I think like the FBI screenings are really, really, tough. So an arrest, okay, an arrest doesn't automatically ban you from working in the FBI, but if felony conviction or certain misdemeanors do ban you from the, from being in the FBI,
felony convictions, domestic violence, convictions, certain drug policy violations, those will automatically disqualify you. I'm pretty sure, like I saw something on my, you know, my algorithm that popped up was, you know, woman had, you know, beat the, I think she had found, you know, rank footage of her husband having sex with a family dog, the golden, the golden retriever. Stop. No. Yeah, that's, um, where are you seeing that? I think they work through this. I really thought that my algorithm is just not presenting these things. Like I, I saw the CNN headline, but I just am not familiar with the depth of this epidemic. It seems epidemic. Yeah, good. That's, that could be the right word for it when it comes to, um, people having sex with their family, with their pets.
Yeah, no, as we know, our algorithms are text different, right? Little different. Little different. It's constantly changing, evolving, flowing like a river. And right now, a lot of the river is just some crazy stuff. But what's the deal with the murder lady? The Lindsey Clancy, Lindsey Clancy mistraw, it's, she got granted a mistrial. What's happening now? I, um, I'm not entirely sure. I saw that. Okay. So one guy, like one juror was the Holt was holding out, right? Yeah, yeah. And it's crazy that are people like attacking him online. I'm pretty sure it's like kind of, yeah. Absolute chaos around, around, um, has there ever been a case where or a situation where like the jury is getting attacked? There's got to be, but it doesn't feel there has to be. Yeah, it has to be, but it doesn't seem like it.
It seems new. It seems fresh. Yeah, people are really mad at the juror. But isn't that like, it's like, it's like, if, you know, that's, that's your job as a juror, right? It's like, like, this is what I believe. Yeah. Yeah, it's your right as a juror. Yeah. I'm holding now. Yeah. It's kind of, you would think it would be a other way around where it's, well, I mean, I guess I don't, I don't really know, but it's just a create the whole case is so insane. And then there's another woman in because Lindsey Clancy, you know, stones throw away from me and Massachusetts. And I'm pretty sure another Massachusetts woman who was like obsessed with Lindsey Clancy in that, that whole case just killed her kids. Really? I believe so. Yeah. Now, I don't know if it was like a copycat kind of thing, but yeah, I'm pretty sure two more, two more kids from this woman were killed.
Trash. Are you looking at super tragic? Yeah. You're looking at it up. I'm doing tabs. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, yep. A absolutely crazy. This was in to his charge April 26th. Where she from? Massachusetts. Do you know where in mass? Something in the Massachusetts water. It's getting it's feel it's a little Salem witch trial. Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, mostly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Not good. In the water over there. Not good. Right in time for all the spooky season. We're just going to need to watch Hocus Pocus and clear our minds from what happened in this discussion. It really took a turn. I'm sorry, you guys. Yeah. You brought up. You've been, you've been feeding me crazy headlines with the animal sex,
beach reality. Now this I cannot wait to hear what's next. That's all I had for for current events this week. I'm sure there's more, but that's what I had pulled. Yeah. I'm trying to think what else what else happened in the in the current event stuff. Not a whole lot. You know, have you got Ed Sheeran and Macklemore? Right. Right. Reeling over over over the tour stuff. Ed Sheeran who kind of was beloved by everybody. It seemed like Ed Sheeran was somebody who was just people love them. Not he's not doing great now. He's cooked right now. He's kind of cooked. So what what happened? So Macklemore said like free Palestine or something at a show and then Ed said like we don't want to have political stuff and then said and then he like and then Macklemore left the tour or or had kicked him out. I think well that's a good no. This might be a good tab to have open because I'm just going to start talking
about it in my ass, but I I'm yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, similar like Macklemore spoke out and then I'm pretty sure venues where these where this tour was going to be said if you have Macklemore open for you, we're not going to you know, we're not going to have you at all. And so I think Ed Sheeran felt like his hand was forced and said look if you know, I got to got to replace you or otherwise the door is getting canceled. Yep, you're right. He's actually Robert Kraft. I know. Yeah. And I'm a patriot dad. I don't like I don't like hearing that. He don't like to hear it. Yeah, so he was dropped and then Ed broke his silence expressing sorrow over the Israel-Palestine conflict defended his choice to remain generally a political on his platform,
but grew emotional and apologized at a concert for the surrounding distraction. Macklemore donated over a million dollars in tour earnings to Palestinian organizations and people are just like like they're off Ed right now. People are off Ed for sure. What can you do? Pretty it's what can you do? I didn't see I didn't see the emotional you know, breakdown at the time. I appreciate it. Yeah, he did it at a concert. Oh, sorry. I didn't see that. Did he also have to evaluate it? Did he also shave his head? It seemed like it's Ed Sheeran's head. It seemed like it wasn't. That's another tab. Yeah. He's kind of going through. He's got my fingers working today, boy. I think he's going through a bit of a Britney Spears shaved the head era. Yeah, he did. He did shave his head. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love the idea of
shaving your head. It's like it's such a you know a symbol of fresh start. You know what I mean? It's like a girl getting bangs. Oh yeah, that's like girl like girl getting bangs. I need to totally switch it up. I want to yeah, because it's like in a way like the shaving your head move to me is kind of like I need to I want to burn it all down and start fresh, right? It's like you're like the feet. You're like a phoenix rising from the ashes. I'm going to I'm shaving my head and it's a clean slate. And now I've turned over the new leaf, my head shaved and it's only up from here. Yeah, it could also be a cry for help. Absolutely. Absolutely. Don't get me wrong. God, I wish I could pull off a shaved head. I think we've maybe discussed about it. I don't know if it was on our pot or not. Actually, do you have a lumpy head or something? Yeah, it's all it's all fucked up. But you know,
this actually kind of crazy because this is I'm pretty sure we said if we were going to do another live show that I would like shave my head on in the live show. Do you want to? No, no, I get no, I don't. There's a part of me that does. But no, I don't want to do it. I think we should do it. We'll talk. I'll just maybe you can just I really I really wrote my kind of back myself into a corner here. Yeah, you just you just totally. Yeah, we can we can kind of figure it out. If let's say if the show is not going well and we need we're like we need some entertainment and we're for bombing for bombing and we were running out of stuff to talk about. Maybe yeah, I'll bring the Clippers just in case you can just shave my head if we're bombing. Yeah, perfect. To try and get everybody back. That'll be great. Okay. Yeah, yeah, okay. But anyway, yeah, I'd see her and she
abd his head and he is it's only up from here. But then he did the crying something broke down. Yeah, I think he's still he's still getting a lot still getting a lot in the media. Oh yeah, he is certainly is he's like dang it. The shaved head didn't work. It wasn't enough. How's he look like a shaved head? It looks all right. I yeah, it looks all right actually. I think it suits him. If I if I had to say yeah, that looks pretty good. Okay, I'll check. I do one of my favorite looks of like the fuckboy runners is the shaved head and then they bleach it. Oh yeah, yeah, like it's just like didn't cabinet shippie do that too? Yeah, I believe so. Yeah, so like like real, real short buzz cut bleach blonde. You like that you're into that look. Yeah,
I think it's cool. Okay, like if I was if I was a boy runner, I'd probably do it. Did you say if did you say fuck boys a runner fuckboy? Yeah, you think that's kind of a fuckboy move. Yeah, what about like have you like mullets are really in right now? Is that a fuckboy? I always love a mullet. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, you love you love the mull, but like it is still a bit it's still a touch. It's still a fuckboy move. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, I think I'd like I think I'd like I'm maybe I maybe that's you would look a little rough I think with a mullet like I'd look like like David Spade and Joe dirt. Yeah, I would unfortunately. Okay, we're off. Okay, I guess the mullets gone. We're back on shaved head bleach blonde. Yeah, but yeah, but shaved shaved head
bleach blonde. Yeah, is that it? What else has has been a boy awake? Yeah, it's kind of been a boring week. Yeah, yeah. Well, let's talk about we had Berlin this morning. We did, yes. And then we have Chicago marathon coming. It is marathon major season baby. It's so interesting to me that just I get why because you'd run Chicago or New York if you're an American, but it's crazy to me how few Americans run Berlin. Yeah, nobody does it. Yeah, I mean, it's just it's a bit of it's just a travel. You know, it's easier Chicago in New York or just easier travel days. But Berlin is fast. Yeah, I mean, Berlin is was known for I get and I think it's still it is like
you go there like that was the the world record course, but Chicago is kind of it seems like I guess where did where did it always that was that was saw in Yomi when they went up to was that where were they it was like it wasn't it wasn't Rotterdam you know, oh, sorry, it was London. Yeah, it was London. Yeah, which is funny because like we don't typically think of London as being one of these world record courses. We think yeah, you think of Valencia, you think of Rotterdam is like really fast. You think of Berlin. And then and then like Chicago obviously is like another one. But forever it was like yeah, you go to Berlin to run fast or you go to Valencia to run fast. Like you do one of these like quote unquote fast ones. But what's tricky like yeah, Berlin is Berlin is fast. I feel like the weather in Berlin is more predictable.
I know I think it was hot there last year, but I don't know Chicago. I feel like can just be it's either like hot or cold like every once in a while it's perfect. But I don't know that the like early October midwest weather, you just don't know what you're going to get. Yeah, I think I think last little more predictable last year, it was pretty perfect. Great conditions. I think I think man's got the American record there last year. That sounds right to me. So if you can get some more conditions like that, it's going to well, what did the winners run in Berlin? I saw that. So it's I saw the woman guy, a doula yeah, ran to a 250 very fast. And Tegas to Sepha 1, 2, 11, 04, which is number three all time. And she was on world record pace. Yeah, was it 30 set? Was it through like 30 40 K? It was deep. It was deep. I mean, she won by almost
six minutes. Like she ran to 11, 04 and number two, Badatio Herba from Ethiopia was to 1653. Dara Dita to 1655. So like she like crushed everyone. But she's really good. Very good. Like she's yeah. But she looked like she that last, you know, home stretch. Look like she that looks rough. Low-end some injuries in there. Oh, yeah, she looked hurt. Look to I mean, yeah, she looked like she was limping. Yeah. So hopefully, you know, but God that to even beyond world record pace. Now it's it's it's tough because now you if you break that record and you're clean, it's like good luck, you know, proving your innocence, which is which is the shitty thing about the whole situation is because now it's just like, well,
you you get that world record, you break the world record and there's no way you're clean. Yeah, yeah, that's tough. It is tough because like technically Ruth Chappengettish didn't get the record stripped, which I still maintain she should get the record stripped. I don't think anybody who's who served the jumping band should get to hold the world record. I think that's bullshit. But yeah, like now, now what? Like because it's going to be broken. I mean, think about how close people are are running. I mean, look at Sebastian Salle and Yomi if like on the men's side, people are running incredibly fast, like dropping huge chunks of time. I you know, whether I'm whether I'm biased or not, I think Tika's sefaz times are a little bit more believable. Like she ran 211 53 in 2023 and she's run,
I mean, her last two years haven't been as spectacular running like 215 216 and then back down to 211, but like I do think, yeah, it's just tough. Like I want to look at Ruth Chappengettish's compression world athletics profile. Yeah, because that was so, um, was that out of nowhere? If I remember correctly, it was like a huge, huge personal best. So this is what's this is the fun stuff about, um, about going deep into the world athletics website as you get to, you can like very easily go look at what's up with these athletes. Um, season's best. Okay, so, uh, yeah. I mean, in 2023, Ruth Chappengettish won, ran 215 37 and then in 2024, she ran 209 56.
Yeah. Like that's, yeah. That's right. And she went to big chunks of it's like when, um, do you remember when Muhammad Kater? Yeah, he went from like, he was like a 1330 guy and then the next year ran 1240. Right. It's like, okay. Yeah. That those, yeah, you don't do that. Yeah. And she basically went like 222, 214, 209. Like that just, yeah, it those sorts of jumps are kind of wild. Like we, you typically would see people sort of hover around and run a cluster of times that are similar, run a little bit faster, hover around run a cluster of times that are similar and then run a little bit faster. The cluster of times, like that's a little bit more typical of like a linear or I mean, even some people regressed a bit before they go forward. Yeah. But yeah, uh, the mocha tier thing, that was, that was an all time time for the internet. A lot of really great, a lot of really great stuff
happened then. Yeah. And he was pretty, he was good. He would, he'd be in comments sections, you know, kind of fighting and, um, talking about like banging someone's mom, things like that. So yeah, we, we, I think that's like one of, um, Eric Jenkins PR firms, like firm rules, says like get out of the comment section. Like we don't, we don't go to the comment section. You can't, it's like you shouldn't be in the comment section. It doesn't, never works out. Yeah. Um, top Americans at Berlin, uh, Charlie Sweeney, Boulder Guy, uh, ran 20933. Let's go. What's crazy is that that's 23rd. Like that's how fast Berlin is. Yeah. 209, like, like, his name's Charlie, Charlie Sweeney. Yeah. I'm not familiar with, with his game, but like 209. She, she very legit. It's a, it's the amount of, um, marathoners that the US has that are
kind of right around that level that are, you're very, very good, but not, um, make, like, you know, making the team good. So there's so many, like so many guys. So many guys. He is, um, he has partners with Elise Karinny. Um, okay. They've been together for a while. Uh, so I do know, I, I do actually, I have heard of Charlie, um, and he in 2020, we did like a COVID safe mile and we had guys on the team at the time and they tried to break the Colorado State record and he paced. So I do know Charlie Sweeney. We got, we got history. Me and Charlie. Did they get the Colorado State record? No, they just missed it. Morgan, Morgan McDonnell just missed it. What is it? Oh, God, Eric. I don't know. Is it sub four? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because I'm not, but back then, back then, I think it's been broken since then. Colorado State mile record. You're really
I'm putting in a word to help my fingers today. And I have like my, my, um, copy cup thing, you know, that I have. Yeah, yeah. My microphone. I, I placed it at the edge. Yeah, my trustee, my stand, I placed it on the edge of my laptop. So I've to like do this like weird, like, reach around your thing around it. A classic reach around. A classic reach around. Okay, actually, it's not sub four. That can't be true. I feel like I've seen a sub four mile happen at in Colorado. Is that true? This is an AI summary. So who knows? Um, Colorado mile record. Yeah. Um, Ollie Hore and Joe Clecker were the first two to go sub four on Colorado soil. Okay. They ran 356 and 358. I don't know if that's the current record, but that's, that's as good as I'm going to get right now. Yeah. That's it. That's it. That's it. Always check the AI summary. Is there wrong? Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, um, Colorado's crazy because you're just not going to get low. Like, I'd like to say, yeah. Yeah. All what is the lowest elevation in Colorado? Like what's, what city? Here we go again. I'm sorry. You don't even need to look that up. Let's, um, and you just kind of like think about it and just like guess. No, but I'm not going to know. But I'm yeah, what is the lowest elevation city in Colorado? Sorry. Um, the town of Holly, uh, 3392 feet. Geez. Y'all really are up there. We're up here. We're up here, baby. The lowest elevation is 3000. That's crazy. Yeah. So yeah, I would assume that mile, that mile, um, that collector and all he did that was, it was that in Boulder. I, I close that task. I had to work out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, I would guess that it would be, if I had to guess, it was probably going to be in the dome at CEO that there's like a super fast track that like people can't really use. Um, but the indoor track at CEO is really fast. Yeah, it seems really fast. I know. Yeah. Um, oh, and then the last thing about Berlin is I wanted to say, um, Rebecca Schmidt was the top American running 227 38 for 17th. Top American there. Mm hmm. We got, um, great, great day for her. We got a lot of all the, it seems like all the big, you know, Americans are going to be lining up in the next, you know, next few weeks, next month. Yeah. Let's look at, so I'm looking at the Chicago Marathon on Pro Fields updated, uh, very recently. Okay. Um, this, the men's side is
bananas. I'm just going to call it a couple of names. We've got Jacob Kiplimo to flat 28. Yeah. A must Kipurito to a 139. Um, but she or optee the Belgian to a three, like there's several guys, but I just know, but she's, is, is a real good gamer. We got Charlie Hicks to a three hour guy. We got to grow Osaka. We have Clayton Young. We have Vinnie Murray, Galen's running racing. Is Galen still racing like professionally? I never know. It's going on with that guy. Yeah. And he's actually running better than, um, he ran pretty well in Boston. I don't know if Boston was his last race. But I want to say, ran like 207 to 8 in Boston. Um, I think if Clayton's really shooting, it's amazing. He's still out there doing it. Um, I think he's probably, I think he's probably 40. Maybe a year, a year or two younger. 40. Yeah. Wow. But, um, I think the, you know, Vinnie Murray and um, Charles Hicks, he,
he looks, I mean, just incredibly fit right now. And I could see that American record could be, could, could be up, up for grabs with that, with that, with that kind of town, that kind of field, if the pace is right, if the conditions are okay. Um, but yeah, I, I would, I would say, I think, um, you know, Clayton, as far as the top Americans, it's, it's, what, when Zuhair, tell me running next. He's racing, um, New York. He's racing New York. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. It's like a battle of him versus, first man's in New York. Um, yeah. But he's someone who could get the American record too. But yeah, that's, uh, that's gonna be a very, very fun race. Obviously, like, you would say, Kiplimo, um, I mean, he was on sub two pace here last year. And he, he, he's still one, right? No, no, he dropped out, right? Yeah. Yeah. Didn't he have the back injury?
Yeah. That sounds right. But that's, yeah. So you'd say he's the favorite and then, yeah, that, that race in the American side is gonna be very fun to watch. You see how it unfolds and who ends up taking that? Uh, Jacob Kiplimo won last year. We're thinking of, we are thinking of, he did drop out of some race and had a back injury. But I don't know when that was. But he ran, he won last year in two or two, 23. Amos Kipruda was second. Alex Macy was third. Okay. Yeah. It's, um, there was somebody I'm pretty sure who was, who was the, the guy that won Boston? Um, I think someone in, was with him at sub two pace and dropped out, um, in 2025, in 2025 or this year in 2025. I could be wrong though. But, um, I don't, you, you, your tabs are at max capacity. I don't,
you don't need a, yeah, my computer is running hot. I can feel it. It's, it's their smoke coming out of it. Yeah. Um, other American men, CJ Albertson, um, we've got, uh, half to night. I don't really know him, but to a seven guy, um, we've got, uh, Bias and Bossa. He's always, he's always good and aggressive. Um, read Fisher. We have Alex Meyer. Um, lots of, lots of folks. Yeah, really talented group. Yeah. This is exactly what we were saying. It's like, you just, so many, you run, you go to Chicago, you don't go to, um, you know, go to Berlin, a couple of, uh, Adrian Wildtute from South Africa, a debut. That'll be interesting. Yeah, that'll be very fun to watch. Yeah. And Cole Sprout, uh, American debut. Okay. Um, on the women's side, we have
Bridget Koski, 214, uh, Howie Fesa 214, 57. Um, and then, I mean, it's really, let me see, let me count this one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve women that are sub 220. Um, Sharon Locetti with her, her PR of 212, 222 from Boston, she'll be looking, looking to bring that down a few minutes. I'm really excited to see how that goes down. Um, on the American side, we have Sarah Hall, uh, Susan Sullivan, Des Lyndon, Sarah Vaughan, Natasha Roger, is Molly Bourne, Dakota Popeain, Gabby Rooker, uh, Elin Hayde, it's stacked. Um, Laura Galvin debut, which will be interesting in Emma Grace Hurley debut. Oh, yeah, Emma Grace Hurley is coming off a huge huge run at the world, at World Champs, kind of a quick
turnaround. Yep. So that will, we'll see how. Yeah, but oh, half marathon. Well, I guess that's always a good tune up. For sure. But what was it? Was that two weeks ago? There's last week. Yeah, I think two weeks last week. It was last week. Okay. So it's like, yeah, what? It's going to be like three weeks in between. That's not, I guess that's, that's not kick off. Yeah, stop it. You know, start your taper a little bit. Yeah. Yeah, stop. Yeah. So she's very fit. That'll be fine. Yeah, she could be for sure. And it's like when you're racing a fast marathon, the ability to race a fast half is advantageous. Like sometimes if you're going into a Boston or even in New York, like sometimes a fast half is an exactly the system you need to be training. We talked about this with, um, Andreas Almgren, who I will never, ever bet against, but yeah, we talked about that. Like he had just run a super fast half as well. Um, but when you're,
you know, Chicago's pretty much flat. So you want to be able to for your, your muscles and your neurological system to be able to handle those type of pieces. So that's, that's a good sign for her. And it's also, you used to, with track, you get so many more opportunities to race and kind of gain confidence from the, you know, from having good races that in the marathon, you get like, you know, maybe one, one, maybe two races in a build up. So there's, it's just like you have to just be you know, gain that confidence from training and from how you're feeling and all that kind of things. But for, for I'm like, you just come off of a huge performance. Your confidence is at an all time high. I get's right there. And it's like, there's no better way to like races are the ultimate test of where you are in your fitness. Right? Like it sometimes can be tough to tell where your training is at just based off training. Or it's like, oh, yeah, workouts are going well. But
if you haven't raced, it can be kind of, you don't really know, you know, it's can be tough to, tough to know until you get out there and race. So having that race under you and it going phenomenally well, there's no better way of for confidence for a fitness marker. Totally. Like in some people are really good at training. And that's a skill, right? But like, you don't know a thousand percent that it's going to translate to race day until you're actually I was something I never understood. Like when I got to college and you'd see people absolutely smashing it and training and you'd think, oh, this guy's going to race so well. And it never panned out. And you're like, how are you able to, how do you bring it like that in training so well? And it just never, it never made any sense to me. But you're right. There are some people guys are listening. Yeah. These guys are listening to the potter now at thingy like
Eric FU man. But they're also listening to like I should, I should abate you. But they're also saying, yeah, look, I guess I did I did smash it in training, man. I mean, speaking of smashing in training, you see like Josh Kerr's time trial. He ran it. He ran which one? He ran a K just dropped this this YouTube video. He ran a K before before Budapest. It's like a week or so before I've been to this to ran like two 12. Oh my god. You know, it's like a and the focus was like going through and like 147 or eight and then trying to shift gears the last 200 just absurd. Tear Lord. Yeah. So I'm not saying any of my guys my chance of doing this shit like that. But like some people really can bring it in training. But bringing it being able to do that and in a workout is ridiculous. You know what I mean? Like there's not there's like to really get it up. You need and run those types of times.
You almost like need the time trials just don't have the same race environment and like bring the same so for Josh to be able to do that type of shit in a workout is just ridiculous. He's he's he's on a different level like he's just in so many ways like it just isn't yeah like people can't do that. It's not. No, it's ridiculous. What do you think? Should we do we have anywhere we're running? We have talked about BCL. We've talked about all the other stuff. Do we inspire off of some voice smells? That's it's a voice smells. Yeah. Okay, here we go. And I think that I actually have this right this week. This is Grayson coming at you from the island of Oahu, Hawaii where we have come out of the December the very vile but in Osmo love the form. What do you guys think about format? The handy cap? Who do you think should run the very mile? Who do you think will win? Do you think
Bill Everbeer World Record said at the very mile? Love you here at talk there and are either you're going to be there. Question based on that. What other distance race would you like to see in a handy cap format like very mile? What would be exciting with like peach tree 10k, peach hiding with like he's an half marathon or awesome marathon or something like that where they're actually hand-blown races. Even this year we saw multiple times the male and the females literally crossed the line hand and hand like together because they're both winners is kind of a cool thing. Anyway interesting. Last comment from the last episode you guys talking about 7-11 snacks. As a runner here at Hawaii, 7-11 cultures, real, there's a lot of Japanese nation
ones here. So the 7-11 is here at choir, amazing. That's cool. It might go to after any, you know, long run, the weekend and the heat. You go to 7-11, you get a big soda, you get the bear where it's good. Oh that sounds so good. I would go for the show you to a hand rule which is like rice and to have. You go for ice cream, you go for a cherry-check and hot and pool. There's all sorts. There's film playing. There's so much good stuff there. So yeah, 7-11 is different when you hit it right and then Hawaii we have good 7-11 including the ice house. Anyways, what do you think about the Mary Mile? Where some other races like tea and just confirming that 7-11 cultures a lot and well, it's been then as hard as America here in Hawaii. Okay, love you. Bye. Love you. Bye. Okay, the Mary Mile I just looked it up. December, December 12th, the Honolulu Marathon is December 13th. My
birthday is December 14th. Maybe we should go. Maybe this is our plea to the Elvr Lords that maybe we should. Maybe we need to do the broadcast or something. Yeah, maybe this is you very nicely asking as a birthday present to look, it's a birthday. Bring us to the Mary Mile. First of all, why? I think it's not a big deal. You're talking about why would be a very long trip. But it's worth it. Yeah, it would be a long trip. We'll cross that bridge when we get when you know, if the day comes. But yes, it'd be a fine trip. I think first of all, there's a lot, guy asks a lot of questions, right? First of all, shout out to the 7-11. It sounds like they're doing it right over there. He understands it. He gets it. He messes with it. I like to hear that. As far as world records and things like that, I'm pretty sure the Mary Mile has basically like a hard
start like 180 degree turn. If you want any records, that's going to have to go, right? Many a straight shot. You're going to need a straight shot or you're going to need something some loops or something that doesn't require the full stop turn. The hockey stop. The hockey stop. Now, what do you think about the, now when he says the handicap format, he's meaning that the women get a couple of second head start on the men and then the men try and run the women down and whoever wins gets is the overall winner. How do you feel about that format? I think it's fun when it's early season like the Mary Mile. I think that's a fun format. Later in the season, it's less fun. It's like, okay, I just wanted to focus on my race and not
whatever else is happening behind me. I do think it's fun early on. Have you ever raced a race like that before? No, I never have. Not a lot. I mean, not a lot. I'm trying to think. The Mary Mile is the only one that comes. I mean, actually, there are some, I know Australia does some cool miles where it will be on a good track. Yeah, like grass track and somebody. But it's different. It's just like everybody gets different levels of head starts. But I've never been a player. It's based on your PR. The fastest person goes last. The only other distance, I think that if you would go longer in distance, it would get boring. I would say maybe a 5K would be the longest distance that it would be fun to watch.
A race like that. Yeah, I think for sure. I think it's 3K'd be good. I think the Mary Mile is always, I mean, people love that event. It's like the perfect time of the year. Now people also love it because it's in Hawaii. It's just like a fantastic destination. But it's at that perfect time of the year where it's early December, you're getting back into running, into training. But you're not, so you're taking it seriously, but you're not, it's taking it so seriously that you can't also really enjoy Hawaii. So it's like the perfect, it's like the best of both worlds. But it's perfect. It's perfect.
So you get another one? Maybe we'll be there. Maybe we won't. Maybe we'll be there. We'll see. We'll see. It's the Overlord's Grant, you a birthday present. I heard you're gonna use your... Yeah. Okay, here we go. Hi, I heard you're gonna use your... This is Gabby from Burlington, Massachusetts. OG listener, person caller. And also think that I'm the only person to have made you merge. Yes, that was me that gave you T-Harm. Oh, yes. That we are live. It's our girl. Thank you guys. You mean it? So I don't know if you guys have heard about this film that's coming out by Nathan Fielder with Elizabeth Holmes, the district CEO of the company Thernos. I'm just kind of assuming here that in the Venn diagram of people who are rail riders and people who love Nathan Fielder, that it's just one big freaking circle. And if you're familiar with Nathan Fielder's work, which I hope you are, and you've seen the rehearsal or Nathan for you, so that my question makes more sense. Anyways, my question is, when you guys think about your professional running careers,
was there ever a situation or a moment where you wish to have had a rehearsal for? Maybe when you were signing with your first sponsor, or maybe when you met a very famous runner. Loki, I had a rehearsal on my own, sending this voicemail in my head like 500 times. But yeah, that's my question. And okay, love you guys. Bye. Love you guys. Love you guys. Well, excellent voicemail. Perfect. No, have you seen first of all? Most of what you needed to rehearsal. First of all, the Nathan Fielder Thernos, Elizabeth Holmes thing, I cannot wait for it. Looks absolutely wild. Oh my god, I'm so excited. You've seen it too. Yeah. Yeah. Love, love Nathan Fielder. I didn't really, I wasn't crazy about the rehearsal. Now, the rehearsal was, obviously, love Nathan for you. Was there a rehearsal where he was taking people and doing like really elaborate preparations
for a particular moment that they're nervous for? I'm trying to remember that. I think so. I wasn't, I don't think I really watched it thoroughly all the way through. Yeah, I watched Nathan for you, but I haven't seen the rehearsal. So yeah, the whole premise is it's, he's helping ordinary people rehearse upcoming difficult conversations or life events. Oh, okay. Yeah. This is kind of, no, I like, I'm trying to think about moments. I don't necessarily know. Because this would be something that I would do before races, right? Where it's like, the more you can visualize and see the race and prepare for the race, prepare for what's what it's going to be like, what's going to the feelings, what's going to make you nervous, what's going to like, what settles you down. The more you kind of do that, the better the race date tends to go.
So there was kind of a lot of rehearsal happening before a lot of stuff. But actually, I guess it was just really about racing. I wasn't necessarily rehearsing. She said like meeting people or I never did anything like that. No. I would love a rehearsal. I like, I think back to like my most awkward like roommate situations on the circuit and I would would love a rehearsal for that. And now that I'm like a woman in corporate America, there are a lot of things that are really crazy that happen, that seem super normal to you because you're really unbothered and you're just concerned about your race. But like so many moments where you're like, now as an adult lady, I'm like, the fuck was happening? Like, when I had, I think fully had gotten to the hotel first.
At a meeting in France and there were two beds. There was like a large bed and then a pullout couch. And I got there first. So I took the bed. And then another athlete, we didn't speak power move. Oh yeah, power move. I like, if some athlete that would have come, I don't know, like if Alison Felix would have walked in the room, I'm getting on the pullout couch. But you have to. Yeah, yeah. But she didn't come. And so I stayed my ground on the actual bed. And another athlete came in who did, we didn't speak the same language. We just nodded at each other. She was a very serious woman from an Eastern European country. And she, the second that she would come into the room, would derob.
I might have even told you the story before, but would derob down to a thong and very little on top and just be around and be doing stretching, be doing whatever she needed to do. And I could have used a rehearsal for that because I that was really jarring for me. Like it was very early on in my, in my career. And I just wasn't prepared for the situation at all. Like hit me with that at year 10 of my career. It wouldn't have even blinked twice. Just whatever, whatever. I would have continued reading my book or watching my show or doing whatever I was going to do. It wouldn't have phased me. But at the time, I was like, I'm not prepared for the situation. It, so that what was it, is it the nudity that kind of threw you? First off, that before you, before you even answer that, it's like, it's quite a move to just
to take the bet. Do you, do you ever feel like there should have been maybe a conversation? Did you allow for you to wait for them to come in and be like, so, you know, what do you want to do? What do you want to do? You know, there's one bed. There's a pull out. Should there have been a conversation around that? Well, think about it. We're in a tiny hotel room in France. So there's no other place to sit. There's no other, it's not like there's like a chair. And I had arrived many hours before she had arrived. And sometimes in these situations, you don't even know if you're getting a roommate. Like, you're in a small town in France. People, there are people that, like, you know, I don't speak French. So I'm not a great communicator. Not a lot of people speak English. So they, you know, I'm on the back foot here. I don't know what's going on. So you just don't know. And maybe in hindsight, like, yeah, I could have sat on a dresser and waited for hours
for someone to come in, but also, no, well, I wasn't going to do that. Yeah, no, no. I kind of made it cozy. I wasn't saying, like, don't touch the bed at all. But I was thinking, like, oh, when she comes in, is there going to be, you know, like, hey, look, there's only one bed. I'm going to get it maybe maybe I get it first night. You can get second night. That kind of thing. It's like getting to, it's like when you get to an Airbnb, when you get to an Airbnb, I don't, you know, you don't want to be the guy that just goes in and takes the nicest room. It's like, maybe you, maybe you, maybe you, the person who booked it takes the nicest room. For sure. Yes. And then it's like, kind of goes down the line with how much you did in the, in the, in the situation of the Airbnb, dictates the level of the room you get. Right? But there is like a conversation around. There's kind of like, actually, sometimes, like, if you're in a, in a great group of friends, there's an even really need to be, like, you just kind of know, right?
But sometimes there needs to be a conversation. There you go. I'm getting this room or, you know, I'm going to get in this room and this is why I, I could see, I think, and if I'm in that situation, I, I say, you know, there's one bad. Now, feel free. You can help in if you want. Maybe, but I think I'd like a first night. You know, if you really want it, you can go second night. Or I could, I could see being in different scenarios where I'm like, like, I'll just take the pull out. It's fine. If it's comfortable, if it's a really uncomfortable, I'll be upset about it. But I like how you use power move. You go, this is my bad. I'm not, there's no conversation around it. Feel free to, you know, distract, you know, naked, do your thing. But it sounds like you need to. Now, in hindsight, do you think, do you think that she was doing it as a power move in return? I was like, is she flared?
Like, is it, is she making a move on you? Well, I didn't even consider that as a possibility. She's like, look, if you see anything you like, don't be afraid to invite me to that big bed of yours. I can lose the thong too if you want and climb up in there with you. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, shit. So it's like, I guess I would like to, you know, need to read the room. But yeah, I can't think of any moments like that as far as me. I guess I was like, maybe the, I'm, I'm maybe her in the scenario in my room made scenarios. You know, not very nice. Our answering this question, like, yeah, I, I was roommates with this guy once and he just, I never met him and he just snaked the whole time.
It's really weird. I, I wish I had a practice on how to handle it. It was real. And then the other person like, well, was he coming on to you? Like, I don't know. It's a great question. I didn't even consider it. Okay, let's do one more. Yeah. Hey, Eric and I use the, this is Christina calling from Oakland. And my question is about where it may or may not be appropriate to wear my viscigas homework. For example, I was tempted to wear my baseball cap as a viscigas haul on the flight to and from my latest work trips. But I was framed because I knew I would be purporting from the airport with colleagues. However, I did wear it to a playground meetup with a bunch of other sponsor moms this afternoon. And I think that was cool, but I don't know. Maybe I was totally out of this. So I'd love to hear from you and your listeners. Where we're wearing the merch. Where it's maybe too spicy and
when I say love you, bye. Love you, bye. Love you, bye. First of all, thank you for buying the merch. Yes, thank you for the great question. Great question. We love seeing you guys out wearing the merch. Keep setting the picks. It's very fun. Love seeing merch out in the wild. Love it. Love it. I like the playground move. I think that's pretty funny. I think that's a great one. I also think it's like, well, first of all, you probably shouldn't be wearing it at work. I would say honestly work is like the only place you, it's you can't wear it. Yeah. Unless you want to explain, you're like, look, it's just kind of a running joke on a podcast I listen to. And if you think if you can do a good job conveying that, and that's fine, I think like you can wear it really anywhere. Really it's like, yeah, maybe not till you're like middle school. It's all by your attitude, but maybe not like your middle school kids,
choir concert, which like that, like that gig is a little hell. But like they can read, you know, maybe like an area situation with children until they can read. Okay. Is a great use of that. Maybe like if you're having a grocery shop on the weekends, and it's really busy and terrifying, which is sometimes where a situation I find myself in, that's a great, great time for the hat. Yeah. Yeah, anytime you're doing a really annoying job that you don't want to do, like not your actual job, but like, I mean, a chore or a poem. A chore, a chore, a task, something you don't want to do. Something that's something that kind of sucks doing. You put the hat on, there's a little bit of whimsy to it, brightens the mood, just the touch. Yes. And you end it. It's a nice gentle reminder to not take things so seriously.
Right. Yeah. And it's like, it's, it's, you're just, it's, which we all need, especially me sometimes, right? You got to, it's this gig is hell, and it's just kind of like joke. We got to, we'll have some new merch ideas. We got some stuff coming up. It's hoodie season. It's spooky season. The temperature's dropping. The layers need to be adding up. So we're going to have some new stuff coming out. We'll of course let you know when we do. But thank you. Great responses so far. Right. Were there any good, were there any other juicy voice bells or was that kind of for this week? Those were the ones that I listened to. But this one looks potentially interesting. Okay. So let's hear what they have to say. Yeah, we can, let's do one more. Hi, this is Chelsea from Dallas. I'm time listener for a time caller.
I decided to hear you all are going to New York. I'm also running New York this year because I recently got divorced. In my ex-customs poll, I was a bit surrounded on the F-Sat briefly. All of a question now. I got invited to the yellow thing. The first thing I'm seeing is the marathon, but in my RR, is that something a girl can show us without A plus one, two, is there enough fun in people watching? Or do I need to support them and find a date? Okay, I love you guys, bye. Love you, bye. Yeah, at that guy, you're running the marathon like suck it. And I think I've never been to the gala. I'm not that cool, but several people have. I think Chris went by himself last year. Like I think you can go back. I think there's like really fun and interesting people that are there that you can talk to. And maybe you meet someone new, I don't know. I think it sounds like you got this.
Like it sounds like you're a strong independent woman who's running the New York City marathon. And you don't need a plus one if you don't need a plus one. She's doing a spite marathon. Right, she's just, I love it. He's running a marathon out of spite. I love it. Yeah, and shout it to the listener. If you see me out there on the course, help me out. Right, if I look like I'm doing bad, wrap me around your shoulder, fireman carry me as long as you can. And then when you can't go any farther, just chuck my lifeless body into the sewers of New York City. But yeah, I know running a spite marathon for your ex-Hazard, that's a move. It's such a move. I love it. I love it. Shout out to you. Go solo to the New York Roadrunners Matt Gell. I'm not familiar with that. The New York Roadrunners Matt Gell.
Yeah. Yeah, they do, they do like a gala every year, that it's like famous marathoners of across the years. And important people. And we're neither. We fall into neither category. So we have not yet attended. But maybe after this, maybe after this marathon, you just become a star, I don't know. Only time will tell Aisha. Yeah. But only time will tell. Yeah, to listen to go rock up to the, and New York Roadrunners Matt Gell and just have a blast. Couple of drinks, see you later. Is it the Matt Gell before the, oh, no, so it's right before the marathon. Okay. So it's like, yeah, but you can have a glass of wine. For sure. Just, you know, just take a seat, get off your feet, let the dogs out, let them breathe. You know, that's kind of what I'll be doing. And go have fun.
We'll see out there on the course. We'll see on, uh, yeah, we'll see out there on the streets. It's fantastic. It's fantastic. It's fantastic. Well, does it? That bad does it. Yeah, I have to go upstairs and see who won World Championships in cycling. Um, very, I was on the edge of my seat before we started recording. So got to check that out. Um, and then, yeah, next week, we, we don't have a ton of running happening from now until then, but maybe we'll be able to look into any juicy stories leading into Chicago. Yeah, we'll figure out some of that. We're going to need to hear, hopefully, hopefully Eric's training. This week goes well. So every month and your best wishes for Eric and his calf. And hopefully, um, you know, he's made some significant gains in fitness in a week. A lot. Thank you very much. Um, I appreciate it.
I'll keep, and again, you'll keep me abreast on something. I'll keep you abreast on this. And I will see you at the same time next week. Love you. Bye.
