Entertainment's story is making news on March 18th. Kanye West, now known as YA Way, has filed a motion asking a court to overturn a jury verdict. The decision required him to pay former employee Tony Saxon more than $100,000 in damages from a lawsuit filed last year. Saxon started as a project manager on YA Way's mansion build. He later took on security and care taking duties. In September 2023, he sued over unpaid wages, rough sleeping conditions, and injuries like back-and-neck pain from the job. After a two-week trial, the jury awarded Saxon $50,000 for past economic losses and $50,000 for future ones. He originally sought $1.7 million, but that guy cut down based on his injury claims. YA-wise filing points out, Saxon showed no proof of injuries or medical bills to the jury. His lawyers argued the award breaks California law on evidence and contractor rules. They wanted thrown out or a new trial
just on damages. Saxon's attorney says this is just retrying an old argument the court already rejected before trial. He believes the judge will stand by the jury's call.
