英语新闻丨Xi stresses improving quality of CPC's organizational work

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has underlined the critical role of the Party and people in building a modern socialist country and advancing national rejuvenation, calling for persistent efforts to improve the quality of the Party's organizational work.

In a recent instruction over Party building and the CPC's organizational work, Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, highlighted the need to accelerate steps to develop the nation into a key global talent hub and a leader in innovation.

The instruction was studied at the national conference on organizational work, which was held in Beijing on Wednesday and Thursday.

As the Party is set to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of its founding on Saturday, Xi, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, extended greetings to all Party members, the number of which totaled over 96.7 million at the end of 2021.

In the instruction published on Thursday, Xi underlined new responsibilities, and the need for new contributions from Party building and the CPC's organizational work to fulfill the mission of the Party in the new era and on the new journey.

He noted that upholding and strengthening the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee should be taken as the highest principle, and efforts should be made to build a contingent of competent key officials for governance who are capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.

Xi also underlined the need for loyalty to the Party and protecting and strengthening the Party with full efforts as the fundamental mission, saying that addressing the unique challenges faced by a major party and improving the mechanism for exercising full and strict governance over the Party must be taken as a major task.

Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, spoke at the conference. He called for long-term adherence to and full implementation of Xi's important thought on Party building.
