Welcome back. It is the morning after. 101 ESPN and the TMA STL YouTube channel Timmercannon, Doug Vaughan, Martin Kilcoin, Little Jackie Papers, loved that rascal puff. On the ones and twos and it is our pleasure to welcome to the program presented to you by Daddy Padre's business, Doug. That's Cardinal Vendy. Thank you, Daddy Padre. For the Stanley Cup, thank you, Daddy Padre for the sponsorship of Cardinal Vendy. Because you make this appearance every week by Robert Thomas possible. Joining us now in the Caliarn Thompson phone lines, the Blues Captain, Robert Thomas. Morning, Robert. Morning, guys. How are we doing? We're good, man. How are you doing? How are you doing? How are you feeling on the morning of the home open? I'm really excited. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. It's going to be an exciting night. I'm really looking forward to it. I was also really looking forward to this call because I think we should give Jackson the first question here since he's coming off his two weeks suspension. It makes sense.
Two weeks, I think. Well, if there is, if there is somebody who knows hockey, it's Jackson. So this will be perfect for you, Robert. Jackson, the Blues are a local hockey team at the San Jose College of Sharks. Yeah, playing the sharks. Yeah. What do you got? We have a question here. You get a chance to ask number 18 a question. What kind of Tony would look at Calvin? Yeah, you're the Calvin May of the Robert Thomas segment. All right, I got a question for you. Robert, OK. Just dust this off here. He's buying that. That's a good read, Martin. Who's big boy? So to start the season, do you prefer kind of this season, where you get a couple games on your belt before coming and playing in front of the home crowd? Or would you rather get right out to it first game of the year in front of the home crowd, get the energy with the club to start the season? No, I'm going to use it. Wow. I think we honest. No, no matter what question you were going to ask me, I was going to rip on you for it, but that was actually a good question. How was that? I'm so glad. Look at that. I know. That was paying like 20 to 1. And Western Michigan over here.
I'll say it is an I.C.A. first one at home early. Maybe one game on the road, maybe not three, just because you want to play in front of your home crowd. And kind of that really feels like it kicks off the season. So yeah, it's maybe one max two, but three is a little too much. Sure. I like what your overall take on the first three. Obviously great starting Dallas two losses after that. What do you think the theme is right now? Yeah, I would say I would say we're building like a obviously it's a great win in Dallas. You know, not a great nine Colorado. But you know, I thought we responded well in Chicago. Didn't go our way, but I thought we played a pretty strong game. We did a lot of really good things that, you know, we should we should win the game the majority of times and you know, sometimes it doesn't happen. But you know, just focusing on the process and you know, building building out our team as the season goes on. You know, we're in it for the long haul. And I thought we did some some good things in the first couple games that show that
we're kind of trending in the right direction for the season. So obviously like to win them all. But I think I think we laid a great found work, groundwork that coming into the hole open or we can we can really build on and start to start to keep pushing. Robert Thomas is our guest here. He's going to be with us every week during the regular season brought to you by Cardinal Fendi. I'm curious because you guys live this. We hear about it as fans and media. You know, it's at least you think it's going to be difficult to play the caliber of opposition in back to back nights. And then in addition, then you the factor in that it's at Colorado and the altitude. Do you guys have a sense before games that you're in a good spot or perhaps a tired spot, whatever adjective you would want to use before you hit the ice? So in other words, I'm trying to get a gauge for where you were going into the Dallas game and then where you guys were going into the Colorado game.
Yeah, I think you're obviously really fatigued. You know, I think you're able to kind of reset and find some energy and you have a day off the next day so you can kind of give it everything you got. So that's it. At the end of the game, you're really exhausted. Yeah, I don't think like there's no way to kind of give it an excuse on what happened in that game. I think we used it as a good learning experience for just how quickly it can kind of spill out of control. And I think, you know, it could be the best thing that happened to us all year. It seems like one of the big narratives in the preseason coming in this season was it got to get off to a quick start, got to be better early in the season. Then when you lose two out of the first three, does that maybe tack on a little bit extra pressure that we better not do this again? I wouldn't say so. I think winning Dallas is a good start.
I think, you know, the way we played in Chicago was also, you know, a lot of positives to come out of it. So I think there's like, you know, just like winning and losing games without having any like meaning to the game or building anything. And then there's winning and losing when you do feel like you're gaining stuff and building something over the course of the season. And I think that's what we're focused on is how can we get off to a start that, you know, fits our habits, fits the way we want to play. And, you know, I think we started to show that, especially like first and third period in Chicago. I thought we're really good in that area. And those are stuff that I think, yeah, we lost the game and it sucks. But, you know, there's something that we can build on from an indoor hall opener. What has Jim Montgomery voiced to you, Holloway and Snuggler? And he was talking a lot yesterday, questions about the top line and off to a slow start. What he said something to the media, hey, they're trying to create offense, but you've got
a start elsewhere. You can't just start with offense. Does he talk directly? Obviously, he talks to the whole team, but does he talk to the three of you specifically? Yeah, we've talked about different ways to kind of get it back on track. You know, there's been a couple of posts. There's been some, you know, man rushes. We haven't capitalized on that. We normally do. And it's frustrating. You really want to help the team. And, you know, especially last game, we feel like you could pop water too. Then it's a different game. So, yeah, I think, you know, it's something we need to find a way to score, but we got to focus on other areas and then kind of just let the scoring happen instead of just focusing on scoring. Now a texture did say shoot for. Does that help? Yeah. And across your mind? Tell Robert shoot for. Yeah, definitely, definitely needs to happen. You could tell Monty that you were given some coaching advice from the show.
Shoot. Yeah. You don't like that when you hear the crowd screaming that too, you don't care for that. Now I guess, so I'm pretty, so I'm pretty maybe may not be playing tonight. How do you game plan? I know in football, there are always Koi by who's in, who's out in terms of how they game plan it. Do you go in just assuming you'll be out there? I had no idea, so first time I heard about it. That, that's just got to report. Yeah, miss their last game. Lower body injury. They haven't ruled about it entirely. There's some mystery about when he got hurt, but there's a chance he may not be playing. He heard it here first. How about that? Look at that. No, I think you know, you always plan for him to play. He's that special player, so he can really change the game. I think we're going to prepare for him to play and we'll see what happens. When you hit the ice here line goes on the ice, do you find that the other teams usually
have one specific guy to keep you in check or one line? Are you playing mostly against the same guys with each team? Usually I'd say probably like 80, 90% of the games, even year over year, you're always planning against the same line or same couple players where they're the demand or forward. So you definitely get pretty used to your playing against. Is this whole little bit of field different for you being introduced as the captain? Not really, to be honest, I think maybe a little bit. I've actually got on my family in town, so it's an exciting day and a day. Hopefully you get a big win and solve great with everyone. So thanks a lot of good energy and I don't think it really feels too different to me. Yeah, maybe if you want to drive down to the game and feel a little different, but at this point, much.
People are concerned you might be in the car wash or your windows and I suspect that you're on the Bluetooth. We want you to be safe. That's my theory. Yeah, I'm driving down to practice this morning. He's got the top down Jackson, ready to roll. Fresh off a Jackson Bennett, the question that Jackson asked is really the problem. He's shocked by that. No, you're all good, Robert. No, you're all good. Oh, wow. Is there no lines for Robert Thomas, Jackson, for Catalyze? I like it. I'll do it. Hey, let me ask you about a few of the new faces because that certainly has stood out. Mika Tavish, you're a check. What are your thoughts from what you've seen there in the three games with those boys? Yeah, really exciting. Obviously it always takes a little while for people to get kind of adjusted and really feel like themselves. But they're making big impacts early and that should be really exciting. I mean, it's only going to grow more and more as the season gets on.
They're showing to be a few parts of the team and they're playing well. I think everyone should be really excited. It's only beginning for them and they're only going to continue to get better as we go on. I think we all can see how the team's shaping up and how good our potential is. It is the opportunity for fans to see this team in St. Louis for the first time in the 2026, 2027 season. The pregame here on 101 ESPN 6PM. Putt drop at 7pm. Blues captain Robert Thomas joining us every week here on the morning after 101 ESPN. And the TMA STL YouTube channel brought to you by Cardinal Vending fired up for tonight, Robert. No, you are and knew the boys are as well best of luck this evening and appreciate your time. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks so much. Awesome. Thanks guys. I'll see you next week. I'm going to take it easy. That's Robert Thomas with us here on the Calier and Thompson phone lines.
If I read a group of texts from one person, you get to guess who the person is. Is he inside the engine of an airplane? Roll up the windows. Can't hear anything. Tell the producer to fix this. 618. No. Harrison's brother. Yes. Yes. Harrison's brother master all day. I was with Doug on the 618 until I heard make the producer fix it or whatever. That's usually going down. Harrison's brother master is going to get you. Yeah. But you fired the first puck and he seemed genuinely impressed at you. I thought it was a good question. Thank you. And it's a question that you can ask with any sport. Yep. So that was helpful because I think initially Martin, you got a great read. He was buying time. Oh, okay. You want me to ask a question? Oh, wow. So I can do I sound like Mickey Mouse or? And then you ask a question. I'm like, I'm going to tell you. I'm kind of anxious to hear the answer. And then, cap is you call him. Yeah, capy. Yeah, capy. You gave me a little pat on the backside. You gave me a stick tap. A little stick tap. Yeah.
Well, you know, I'm just trying to be a productive member of the room. God, this guy. He's got blue feet. Got to find ways to contribute. He's got blue feet. He should have a goal by now, but he's just collecting a check. That is wrong. Six one. Hey, yes. Nice. Man, this is fun. I can kind of do guess the texture. I don't like guess the texture. It sounds like he appreciated it when people, when people, you know, shoot. Yeah, I love that. I got that. I got that. Well, I love some shots on goal player props tonight. It's all I'm going to say. There's a lot. There was, I think there was a, let me tell you something. There was an opportunity to make money tonight. It's all I'm going to say, Doug. There's an opportunity to make money tonight. That he know on the blues. Try. I'm not necessarily saying, okay, about on the blues money line, you got to lay 145 out over the hall. I'm in the player prop season. It's player prop season. And to him, I have a new capital partners. Okay. I'm surprised he didn't know celebrate. He may not play. But I guess, I guess you have to assume that he's going to. He missed her last year.
I was reading the whole thing last night. And then somebody on one of the hockey shows in Canada said, well, they've been dealing with this in straining camp. And then the coach was asked, he said, whoa, whoa, no, that's not accurate. So there was a whole big dust up about when was he injured? What happened to him? It sounded like he wouldn't be playing. But what if I tell Thomas that then he goes, oh, good. Celebrities, and then he shoots up. Sure. And has a hat. And it's my fault. I'm kind of surprised. They wouldn't have, I guess you just play your game. Kind of surprised. Buzz Killington 69 1.6. This team is asked. Oh, that was sent with all caps. Then five texts above that one, but both sent it 844 Central. Also sent in all caps, super soft interview. That's from the 618. Doug, we did not meet their approval. We supposed to start yelling at him. Is that what they wanted? Would you like us to yell at him? Then a word, I don't know if you can use this word anymore.
You blanks refuse to hold the cap accountable for why they are one and two exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point, homers, exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point. So he's upset that we didn't yell at him. Earlier he texted in, Libby's peach fuzz is going to feel real good on my face. I feel real good on my undercarriage. Clip that off. It's raining, man. That's a Mary Jane girls. It was a very flasid interview. That's from the 314. Buzz Killington 69 1.6. Slow-pitched softball questions. For FIR, Doug, you have a problem with that. I don't like a capyton cry baby. Leave us alone. Celebrity's going to play. That's from the loan range reciting. How does he know? Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but how would he know?
Blues are going to suck again. I'm not impressed with my gumbery. That's from Sir Whoopi from Dan Gay. Those are kind of questions we should have asked. So Robert, you think the team's going to suck again? You tired of my gumbery? Would you skip Schumacher? What do you like about his team? He said, well, what am I going to say? I don't like my team. Maybe he's being honest. Looking at how they finish. Guys, I hate your audience. Thanks. That's from Adirty. Tim and Martin's questions were great. That's from Stephen Time. It's three games. Let's see what happens if the team unravels. If it's a crappy start after more than three games, then it's a legit topic. And I will say for their sake, you want to win this game. Otherwise, it does start creeping into the narrative. Oh, boy, slow start. Here we go again. Yeah, I would think there's some pressure to avoid that. I am, then that's why I say with the player props thing. I would be, hey, listen, if it's bad tonight, I'll be like, all right.
Now you got a little situation. And I realize you can say, hey, they just lost to the black hocks. I get it. But what was it? The Tony LaRouce would say, Martin, did you watch the game? A lot of times, you're like, ah, well, I mean, some of it, what part? If you did watch that game, they were, they were buzzing the town all over the place in the third period. And I realized they didn't win the game. But there is a difference, of course, between the debacle in Denver on Saturday night and Chicago. I also realized there is a substantial difference between the caliber of opposition in Denver. And Chicago, but with that said, I would be really surprised if you saw a lackluster performance in particular from that top line, which was certainly one of the focal points of the conversation with Jim Montgomery. So with that all said, that's where I am. And if I'm wrong, I will be right here tomorrow, Doug.
It's seven o'clock. And I will accept your vitriol. And I will read as much as I possibly can to stay within the parameters of the federal communications commission. That's all. Reasonable, fair enough, valid. And if Thomas happens to have a hat trick tonight, then tomorrow, does he still suck? I mean, that's, that's the part of the game I don't quite get. If they win the next four, five in a row, do they still suck? But I mean, it speaks to something that we talk about, I talk about anyway with college. Football that every Saturday is a referendum for a coach's ability to either be fired or he's the second coming. And it's just not the way that it works. It's not the way that it works. They've played three games, two of which were on the road against two legitimate playoff contenders back to back. And I mean, I can't, I can't fake anger to appease a wing of the audience that candidly. I don't really care if they like the show or not. No, that's not, that's not, that's not, it's the Pearl Jam song, Doug.
It's not for you. Okay. So it's, it's fine. You don't like it. You want me to scream at a guy. I just, it's us not, that's just not the scene. But everything's magnified at the beginning of a season. You lose two out of three in January and nobody notices. You start losing two out of three. Oh, here we go again. You gotta let play out a little bit. But I know, or I'm confident that they're like, okay, we gotta get things going here. They're our expectations. They've done it before in a larger sample size. I would expect those boys to be buzzing tonight. But if I'm wrong, like I said, seven o'clock tomorrow, I'll be right here. Come on by the water is warm. The program's called the morning after it airs on 101 ESPN. You're listening to about TMA podcast presented by Shaffer Door Company on 101 ESPN. Oh, Doug, Lana Del Rey, huh? What's going on here? And this isn't the remix. You notice that? Yeah, I didn't notice it immediately.
Uh, is Lana Del Rey celebrating a birthday? No, on New York artists. Oh, that's right. I don't know what spurred this, but Doug, it's the first text I see at the top of the air comfort service text inbox. Okay. Uh, it's from the self-made stay-at-home Ladoumah. If you live west of ballast, you are so gross. That's from the self-made stay-at-home Ladoumah. That seems unfair to me. I mean, most of town and country is west of ballast, right? We're just here. All of Chesterfield is. Is a Horton Watkins graduate, though? Do you internally kind of go, yeah, I get it? Certainly be outside the school district.
So I don't even pay them any mind. Despite, I have a lot of family west of ballast. Oh, I love west of ballast. What is it? Do I just take your breath out? You're fairly gross. I didn't think you did. Is that right? Yeah. What would be the marker east, like east of 170? East of 170? Or I'm sorry, west of 170, east of ballast. That's your sweet spot. I mean, for me, gross. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I mean, for me, growing up south side, it's east of Hampton. Or as we call it, the wrong side of Hampton. Oh, right. I think all the respect, of course. Self-made sailant doom might be west of 170, east of ballast, north of Manchester for sure, and then probably south of Olive. That would kind of be your sweet spot, you know? I was trying to get Timmy over on the ramp, but on the other side of the park. His mom can walk across the park when I get him on the other side.
Chesterfield is the Jefferson County of West County. That's what I'm looking for. There's so many things coming in about this that I wasn't aware of. It's like most of West County is. Chesterfield. Chesterfield, I think he's got it going on. I think that's the sweet spot. It's the cat-said jam. They've got everything. They've got an airport. They've got country clubs, golf courses, great schools, a lot of thriving businesses. They've got that entertainment area along top golf and main event and the factory. They've got everything you could possibly want in Chesterfield. Most stand-alone nanteans. Yep. I take everything back. I just said. Thank you for you. Good for you, at least you can admit when you're wrong. Text in 314-399-646. That's your comfort service, text in, bags. You can call in the Calierne Townsend phone lines like Timu Joe Buck did in his name's Vance. Yeah. A veiled profit wanted to hold us accountable, I guess. But he is the TMA listener of the month. Right. The four-manager, TMA listener of the month. So you can call in 314-97401-01.
Then we got that design air heating and cooling email the day. The morning after it inside STL.com, design air online at airservice.com. The winner of the design air heating and cooling email of the month contest here for these two weeks started on Monday, it'll end next Friday. Whoever gets the most emails in the over those 10 shows gets to play in the Steeple Charity Classic Pro Am. Two weeks from yesterday. So send yours in the morning after it inside STL.com, design air online at designairservice.com. Doug Bryan was over at my house yesterday. Was he really? Not to make it jealous. Yep. Yep. Bryan was there, wasn't he? Yeah. And what do you do? You get you fixed up real nicely? Of course he did. I mean, it's design air heating and cooling. And it is wonderful to be able to work with a company that you can count on. Like design air heating and cooling because when that HVAC system is not working, you know it is an urgent matter. And design air will take care of you just like they have. Martin Killcoin, Doug Vaughan, and myself.
Today, glorious conditions. High of 83 in sunny tomorrow. High of 87 in sunny Saturday, 81 degrees now. And it looks like there's going to be some clouds. But no precipitation for those of you looking to go to Columbia. Which reminds me, I haven't checked my Instagram DMs, Doug, for these Texas A&M tickets that I want to buy. Oh, is that right? No. I don't have any. I don't have any. In fact, I just have a bunch of ladies wanting to meet me at Napoli. So is that a go? You give them the thumbs up? You go, mm. Yeah. I just give you some sideline passes. There are hundreds of people. I don't know who all these people are. The sideline of a college football game. I like, I personally, and I don't know where you boys are on this. For a college, I mean, I'm speaking specifically of Furrow field, but I would imagine you could apply it across the board. I want to be up more. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Last week. No, I agree. Are you agree with that? I think we're at row 44 actually now that I, that was great.
Well, the sideline's not great for viewing. Right. But it's amazing to me how many, I guess, so are recruits and their families, but maybe notable alums. Yeah, you got to take the picture for the Instagram. Hang your eyes on the line. There's some hangers on. Yeah, I mean, the teams already got 100 plus kids. Then you look at this. Look at me. I am in potent. I'm trying to security down there. That's amazing. Anyway, team of current in it inside us, to you like my Venmo's ready. I mean, I'm ready to discharge. And I recognize Doug, I know what the market is. So I'm not, look, I'm not going, give me tickets. I do a stupid show. No, no, no. No. Pay, I'm a meat and potatoes guy. Send me parking. I will pay for a parking pass as well. Is it in Lodell? I'd pay $10,000 for a lot of L pass. You would? Is that under market value? I bet it's hard to get out of there though, isn't it? When it's over. Because of all the ass. Well, just don't arrive late. I told you guys that. It might have been all over. I've seen people pulling in late Martin. It is rough. I guess it's bad for me.
It's under an hour to kick off. And the tailgating is in full swing. And here comes somebody. They've got their spot. And they've just got to clear out the masses of people. Those parking attendants, that's a tough gig. Because nobody's listening. And nobody cares. God, it's tough. I really do feel badly. There are a market on that. If you get any of the great parking spots, if you have one under an hour to kick off, you're probably not going to get in. Just a little too chaotic. Yeah, I mean, don't even bother at that point. Well, you think there's people that have paid a lot of money for that parking spot and then can't use it? Well, no, they do, but I'm just saying it's so difficult. It's better. Just get there a tick earlier if you can. Lidoo boys used to go west to Chesterfield looking for hot girls in my days since they had none so sad. And our girls laughed in their faces. That's from your wife's greenkeeper. The hell is even west of Chesterfield, Columbia? Oh, what about St. Charles County?
That would be north of it, though, wouldn't it? Well, you go west on 64, you kind of run into. How's everyone in Chesterfield? That would be north, right? That's way north. Hook a left would be warned. What's beyond the horizon? That's kind of my thoughts. Like St. Louis, Winxville, at the end. Yeah. Yeah, well, like northwest of Chesterfield. And his day with doboys who got there looking for women. Drive 35 minutes. See these country girls. Farmer's daughter types. Public course Jackson has just sent in this text, which includes an image dug. I don't know if you're in the air comfort service. It's texting back to Martin. Martin, you and I are always in there. Public course Jackson said, I went on the sideline last weekend. It was because my friend played for Mizzou, and they were allowed three guests. I am not important, but I did get to tell Sofahler that I love her to which she replied, thank you. And she made me look very tall. And it's a picture of public course Jackson with Sophie Cunningham, also known as Sofahler, on the sidelines.
Good for him. He got on the sidelines because his friend played for Mizzou and brought three guests. That's what I'm talking about. There's a lot of that going on. Who do you think his friend is? Bobby Boots. Probably not getting three passes. Yeah, I may have not even won. O'Fallon, Winghaven, Hawks Point, Sharon and Clayton. He's not happy with those places. He started listing. The hell is Hawks Point. These are places west of Chesterfield. I think I'm going to get 64. Los Angeles is west of Chesterfield. Wow, Jackson. Ten minutes past the river on 40, is Highway 94, which is St. Charles. Get a compass. That's from the 636. Do you say compass or compass? I can say both. Sometimes I diversify. Yeah, it's certainly spelled compass. But I feel like people say that's compass. That's a compass. Is that soft O? Yeah. No, I'm not soft O. The word that bothers me is Colonel, CEO, L.O., N.E.L. Like the gay D.R. There's no turtle.
It's a colonel. Is it a colonel? Yeah, it does. It's a spelling that bothers you. The spelling of Shoshesky bothers me. If you like country clubs with active Instagram accounts, strip malls and big letter hats, Chesterfield is for you. That's from the self-made stay-at-home, Lidu mom, and my god, she is on one this morning. What's a big letter? I have to tell in this specific case, I actually know exactly what she's talking about, and specific to the big letter hat, I share it with you. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something, the big letter hat, husband and wife. What's a big letter that serves on the Web to be? I'm going to tell you something of her, you've got three computers of screents, three unexpectedly times. We were so active back then, what is it like? Like in Instagram accounts, I don't remember something about your saw a lot of that in Columbia last weekend.
And what does that mean? I have no idea. It's the popular thing now. I think it looks really dumb. That's kind of like a three year old thing. It's still popular. It's still popular. It's certainly falling out of style. I think people have kind of been shamed away from it. But I saw a guy walking around. He's a Hindu. He's a Hindu. He says, but the Mizzou was upside down. It was so dumb. The Padres lost because Fernando Tateez's dreadlocks are below his numbers. It's mandatory. Cut his hair this off season. Doug got some Eric in the central West and with a baseball take. I hadn't read that. I guess it's true. If he wrote it, it must be true. Well, Brewers are moving on. Padres, so that bet was going to be Padres. Oh, now he's going to get what $7,500 on that. Oh, we needed the Padres to win the World Series and City SC to win the MLS Cup. That's right. That's dead money. Brewers snap a 12 game road playoff losing streak. Dating back to 2018. And now Milwaukee will host that Sunday,
I believe Milwaukee hosting the NLCS with the Dodgers. Looking forward to that. It's a perfect matchup. That's who should be in there, I think. Couldn't agree with more of that take. I like that. Good for them. They won 103 and 100. It's I am looking forward to that series. Major way looking forward to that series. I don't think as of this moment, I will be all that intrigued by the rays and either the guardians of the white socks, but I will be watching the Dodgers and Brewers and probably not even have a financial reason to do so, but just be intrigued to see how those two go. And will the Brewers make their first World Series appearance? Since 82. Yeah. Gorman Thomas flailed against Brews Souter. Dodgers trying to make it three in a row. Three championships in a row. White tax in prime time tonight, seven o'clock. So a lot of pressure on that organization
after the first pitch guy, well, I guess, fell flat amongst many Doug who texted Twitter. Our guy already forgot his name. Gabriel, no. Maybe they'll redeem themselves. Belmont, yeah. Brewers are the favorites in this, are they the favorite in the game maybe? They're the favorite, they're the favorite in the game. Is it the game? Yeah. I mean, that would be the certainly be the expectation. I'll tell you what, I'm excited for this Brewers series. Okay, I'd finally came true. Yeah. If the Dodgers win the World Series this year, they'll tie the Cardinals for second most World Series titles ever. They'll get the 11. So you get a root for the Brewers to protect your cardinal heritage. I think guys on Twitter are gonna be low on ammunition if the Cardinals don't have the second most championships. Guys on Twitter are gonna be low on ammunition. They're like Cardinals nationalists too. Those are right. No nationalists. Yeah, they're few and far between these days, but there are some. Dodgers are minus 160 to win that series. For the record, Brewers, if you like the Brewers to win, plus 130.
I hope the Brewers win. I'll be rooting hard for the Brewers on this one. Martin, where are you, your Wisconsin? No, it ties. Is this rooting interest or prediction? Rooting interest or any interest? Oh, I'd like to see the Brewers win. I said that maybe it was one of the days you guys were out and we were taking calls from 29 year old guys who sound 60. Yeah. And I said, I wouldn't mind seeing the Brewers win in some Cardinal die hard to say. And you can't say that, division rival. But since Nigel Morgan's gone, it didn't seem quite as hard as you. I'll tell you anyone I would tell you what you can and can't do, Martin. Thanks buddy. Thank you. You're the man. No, you root for the Dodgers to win the World Series to put an end to this salary cap clown show conversation. That's from Steve and time. They'll be rooting for the Dodgers. First of all, I like having evil empires. And then I also like, I don't like the inevitable results oriented. Oh, see, the Brewers win the Series. That proves that the economic stability of the game is in good hands.
And it's a hand job narrative that's got nothing to do with the actual conversation that five teams participate in major free agents that be based on the outcome of a best of five or best of seven series. It's a, it's an absurd premise. But I assure you, if the raise or the Brewers win the World Series, you will be reading columns for people who, in my opinion, have a vested interest in carrying the water. That's what I think is going on. Because I don't know how anybody can have a serious conversation regarding the state of free agency and major league baseball and save it. It's healthy. But that is what you will read at the start of November. Should it happen? You know, what's really amazing is that teams like the raise and the Brewers have found a way to compete, well, against those teams. They're the ones that ought to be held up as doing a fantastic job with the resources they have. Yeah. And really, you're not talking about just a one-off
for these organizations. I mean, this has been going on for a while for both of them. Yeah. Haven't been able to break through. Could this be the year? If you had an ideal World Series matchup, what would it be? Go. Oh, for me, what I want to see this year, I want to see the White Sox and the Brewers. I do, yeah. White Sox and the Graphically. Oh, sure. A short trip. Yeah, I'm sure. I'll be okay with that now. You get Dodgers, White Sox, you get big markets. Being a Foxwater Curator. Be a pretty great uniform World Series. That's a good uniform World Series. Oh, White Sox Dodgers. That'd be best guys I guess. What's so good about the White Sox? Oh, the hats awesome. I really like the logo, like the font they use. Pin stripes look great. I think the White Sox have a, and when they wear the black top with the white pants, that's standing. And the Dodgers speak for themselves. Yeah, the Dodgers have a great uniform. One of the best. Raise not so much. Raise Brewers would be a brutal World Series.
Astetically the most unpleasing World Series. From the ballpark. The uniforms. Yeah, everything about it. You're going to be in a dark place. That's that would say. Chance that happens, papers. Really chance that. For sure. For sure. Popraising uniforms are pretty horrendous. Brown and yellow. Yeah, I like there. I think they're better than the, they're really basic white and navy ones that they had. And like the early, I know it's not a popular opinion, but I do think they are better. But it's, they need to restart with the uniforms. I wonder why they chose Brown. It's because of Padre, where's a Brown road? Yeah, like the tunic that they wear. Fire. Yeah. I think that's exactly why. The Dodgers have nine championships, Doug. That's from Mason, Wins of, and Mitt. Well, when I'm reading, says they have 10. Is it like, yeah, they claim one? They claim one. Yeah, they have nine. Well, when I'm, okay. The website I'm reading on Google says they have 10. What about the, your Kansas, had the illegal player? You think that's the one that they're,
they're counting Doug? It could be. I guess we should be easy enough to nail it down, but I'm reading right here that they have 10. Maybe it's wrong. The Padre's uniforms look like my face after a night with Doug. Some sniffing holes. What does that mean? I think I can deduce Brown and yellow and all. Oh. Shut up, Ravi. Oh, I won't watch a second of the World Series if it's the raisin brewers, news fast. That's from a hunchback of on Castle Doug. He'd be out. Feel bad for the race because you tend to root for the underdog and sports. You know, get the NCAA tournament. You're rooting for that 15 seat, but I don't want to see the race. No, I don't know what it is about. What if we could have them play their home games in the World Series at Petco or Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park or Riggly Field?
They're... What would have happened last year when they were playing in the Yankees spring training place? They would have played home games. They would have played World Series games. Are they sure? Martin, I gotta tell you, that's a nice question. What would they have done? I think they would have played. Like 10,000, 15,000 people. Yeah. Wow. Guys, my wife won't let me go to Columbia this week and Tim, can you pick me up on 70 Bob Slid style? Just keep driving and I'll jump in. That's from color buzzers. He is precluded from going to Columbia. Bob Slid says he's running next to your car. I always have to. Be a fun thing to try. Car would have to be going, how fast could a car go where you could get into a Bob Slid style? No, it'd just be crawling all. Yeah, maybe like five, six miles an hour. But at least you wouldn't have to stop. Email and designer heating and cooling email and they come up and hear a half hour on the morning. If that's on the Polo's Plus dossier, friends have gathered in the four-manager YouTube chat 294 in their talking right now, 7,320 of subscribe, subscribe to it.
Spartan 4.4 says if the Dodgers win the World Series, they will become the third franchise to win three and work in second in World Series. Do you know the other two? No doubt it's gotta be the Yankees. Yankees have to be one. God, who would be the other one? Are we gonna go way back? Oh, C, C. The pre-dates 82, I gotta tap out. My guess is we're pre-dating 82. I could pre-dating like 32. Did the A's do it in the 70's, the A's do it? I'll find out the answer. One, so three consecutive? Yeah. What World Series? Yeah. The A's did, right? 72, 73, 74. Yes. I think that was it. Yup. Oakland A's, New York Yankees. The Yankees have done it several times. 36, 39, 49, they've been through all the 90's. They just throw in the 90's.
Yeah, five feet, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53. Well, the... I think they beat the Dodgers in a few of those two. That was your first year in Rochester? I know I'd been there 10 years already by then. Breaking it down. Before the medium was even invented. Okay. That's the night belong to lovers. Looks direct. I would say. I think Rick kind of owns the night as much as anyone else. It's like after hours. But tonight you're just making an appearance so you can take a picture to send to the group to say you were out watching the blues. Sure. You help on the up. We need to get some kindling and maybe light up on fire and studio. Yes. I hate being the guy to email to ask, but we are, we are in a position now where we might have to, we might have to play a best of movie boy because it's the kid. Doug sent a text behind the scenes. Martin, this is sharing logistics with the people who are watching the movie. We're going to be doing a lot of things. We're going to be doing a lot of things. We're going to be doing things. We're going to be doing things. We're going to be doing things. We're going to be doing things. Sharing logistics with the listeners,
Doug sent a text at around 650. Martin and I were in a different part of the building for the show prep meeting. A different wing. Yeah. And said bring your winter coats. And it somehow has gotten colder in the studio today. We're all dressed in layers, but we're at a point now. So I was the guy that just said, I was, that's what I was doing while we were We were enjoyed me because the night and your fingers froze the keyboard. Oh my god. Yeah, it's a situation The program the Steeple studios are freezing and brought to you by Steeple We don't believe Steeple is responsible for but holy crap Email in the morning after it inside STL.com for the designer heating and cooling email of the day That's coming your way here In 945 and boy Eric in the central west end says Jesus you guys are so soft Hill it's easy to say when you're not frozen to your chair
Lilith Fair Burkette turn this garbage off. That's from mr. 6301. What your nickname is little fair? That was patty Smith. Yeah, it's some patty Smith. What's wrong with that? And she was at Lilith Fair? I don't know what the hell is Lilith Fair again? Sarah McLaughlin would put on this music festival in the late 90s early 2000s Okay, and it was all female artists Okay Cheryl Crow your Pride of University Missouri Tracy Chapman feel an apple Eric Abadoom is the Elliott Queen of T. Phil Lauren Hill. He said this is a bad thing Sounds awesome. That's mr. 6301. Now he has a fast golf cart Well the Shenato Conner all these artists are great So you would enjoy the Lilith Fair sounds fun. Where was it at? I? Don't know I've seen somewhere like Portland I mean it was a travel Okay, so okay, that sounds great I will bring you some blankets and you can cuddle up with this big bear that's from Tom O'Lock Tim and he's a big bear
Dog might take that this point. I think I would too actually we have a serious discussion every morning and ducks Oh, I forgot to bring my space heater Literally the conversation I've got one. I don't scare let me plug it in here. Yeah space here is it dude I hear more bad stories about them than good well if it starts a fire we can run out of the building sure Yeah, if we freeze to death we're just gonna kind of slowly go unconscious and then Stay and run the board. We gotta go Just keep playing drops. That's kind of how it goes sometimes there's been some like tornado warnings that'll happen Well while the shows are going on and some guys will run for the hills and other guys will batten down the hatches in here and it's Tough spot for the board operator because some's got to play. I tell you this is a surprise Sharon and Clayton is coming to our side Who's the irresponsible Dolt who cracks down the air conditioning overnight maybe shoot him the Amaran bill Sharon and Clayton But that rare moment of solidarity was Sharon. Yeah, look at that. I
Don't know if someone does it or if it's just On the automatic thing or what it is nobody seems to know I have a handful of ex-husbands who have turned into bears need them Doug that's from the self-made stay at home. No, I'm good. I'm good for now Keep my hands in my pockets. Maybe I can get through this Hey, but I'm looking at the the pile. I don't want to disrupt the flow here Is our guy Josh paid on the Austin Simmons train or is he on the opposite train? I'm trying to figure out this is I'm somebody kept texting in that Josh paid destroyed his career on Twitter yesterday I don't follow him who I know he's talking about I have no idea what happened Is this like a social thing that's gonna be like take you and you know? No, I think it actually is of note Or was it a college football thing college football thing? Okay. I really don't know what happened so Josh paid Yes, you guys know what happened by the way So Josh pay was tweeting yesterday Someone tweeted him why is like you F wise for to rank above Missouri and his power ranking and Josh paid personal power ranking
And he says cuz on neutral field Even after the game last week. I think Florida would be favored by three and a half to four points And the guy was like how could how could that you possibly say that after the ass whipping was who gave them and so Josh paid Tweet that fandall I believe the partner of what would the line be for Florida and Mizzou on neutral site and Fandall tweeted back Florida would be favored by four and a half on neutral field even after the 45 17 defeat. Okay, so that is that's the story But who city ruined his career? I don't know somebody that was texting in and then that and so Do you think I mean you don't know you don't know anything the man tweeted yesterday? Right? That's that was the big thing That ruins his career well, well, you know a Texas being hyperbolic But that you thought when I see you said you knew what he was talking just see if that was anything that backs his point up I would think but That's the only thing of know that I saw from Josh paylan twitter yesterday I did some grass touching yesterday, so maybe I was out of the world are you compressing now?
I just feel out and about man about town So cryptic I was Rick again, that's something you're touching. Hello Rick. Hello Richard. Yeah, well, you know what I was I was touching concrete I mean I'm not trying to split hair touching pavement split your hairs But Sharon and Clayton says I've sent in quite a few compliments to pittles the past couple of days I'm not the dragon you think I am that's from Sharon dragon I don't think you're gonna take a coach say that at the podium. I'm chairman Kurt Were you about to say something regarding what you think this might be? I was trying to look for anything that it could be and it looks like people had thoughts because he went on the rich Eyes and show and declared that he thinks the winner of Alabama Georgia you can pencil into the playoffs So people were giving him a hard time for kind of stating the obvious That's like saying a son will come out tomorrow. Yeah, I don't know that that's he's what I like to call swing games Yeah, so he's stating some obvious things and then making them sound more profound Yeah, I wouldn't say that the floor. That's a nice the neutral sight thing would be I think that's interesting I don't think it ruins anyone's career. I just know interesting, but that's the difference
But I also I also understand I do understand that I'm trying to think of what another gay like okay Ole Miss LSU, but that was a close game Where was there was there another blowout of a team that's perceived superior Ole Miss Florida Yeah, Ole Miss Florida were to be on a neutral field I Think Ole Miss would be a favorite Yeah, would agree you okay. Yeah, so I don't I don't think it's that outlandish right? I don't think so either I thought it was like I think people like but I realized you're not the one who said it was outlander right right That's particular take isn't crazy No, cuz it sounds a little nutty, but then you workshop Yeah, and if you say like home field advantage is a three and a half point swing there if Ford and zoo play the game Even in Columbia Florida being favor by one and a half would that be crazy? I don't think so Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. You know if they had the worst performance of the season But also I think one of the things that Gets missed when spreads are talked about and also this falls under the umbrella of rankings
Is it's factored in by public perception? You know what I mean? Sure like Duke and college basketball there is a perception of I don't know if invincibility But perhaps better because of brand better because of what they've done in the past sure I think the market factors that in Perhaps with with Alabama still I don't know if that's kind of worn off now that you're in year three with the bore Maybe Georgia. I don't know if there's an invincibility I still think Indiana actually doesn't get the credit that they deserve. I know you feel that you My parents were over last night. We're hanging out having dinner and my dad brought up Indiana Indiana is favor by seven and a half at Nebraska this weekend And thought that was low. It's but it's a Friday night game right Martin. That's a two fox. Yeah No, that's that's Saturday the love. Tell you what the insatiable Craig Rutledge just came in here like a thief in the night And I think you already fixed it. Yeah, I definitely don't feel any air movement going on Oh, grab benefits us. Yeah, simple. Yeah, simple. Tens absolutely on that
He's got me even a brush is undefeated. Yep Played nobody but I didn't feel like these these games pop up Where I guess you could make the case on Iowa last week Where it's like all right here we are we're ready We've got a win that we're making a case for as a big win got some attention i.e Michigan the week before and then Ohio State goes okay Here you go We've got Jeremiah Smith for you. Yeah, but I think Indiana also some to prove too. I mean they played nobody Well, but that's what I'm saying these games pop up usually around this time in college football and And then order is restored so to speak yeah, I agree So I think there are a number of people on Nebraska because the Nebraska would be the Iowa equivalent That's what I'm saying Martin if I'm not communicating it properly. Thank you for Communicating it more effectively that this would this would be the opportunity where Indiana goes okay
You know, you don't believe in us and you think Nebraska's back. You think dr. Tom Osborne's on the sidelines. That's fine here you go you know 4114 and The seven-and-a-half points was the proverbial free money. Yeah, I've been speaking of Indiana Brandon Walker he of bar stool Sometimes crypto sometimes serious But I thought he had a very good take yesterday. They like Indiana like signate is the best coach in football Indiana Dominated and you know kind of been the definition of excellence, but they had a cowardly non-conference scheduling They scheduled north Texas Howard and western Kentucky is there three and I would say I'm smart I don't like it, but what's the point right? Right, I think I think cowardly that's like one of those like you know, it's like the Hillbilly's in the text and tracks, you know, it's like okay But what's the reward right? Yeah, no, I get that I think his point kind of was like this is unlike Signate it seems like given signate these public facing persona that this guy's asked about and he goes
Why would I do it? He's a he is asked about it. It's more pragmatic than anything. It's it's good business Yeah, it's good business as a fan. I don't like it. I would rather Missouri play take your pick of whomever for my entertainment I think the UAPB and Troy games and just like oh, it's like an off-week, you know, but You know, I mean you saw what happened last year we have an absolute Case in point Texas goes to Columbus, Ohio. They lose they have three losses if they don't lose in Ohio state and they play UAPB they're ten and two they're in the college football playoff I know they had a bad loss to Florida well aware of it But they're in the college football playoff and college football has a real situation with that because I don't Know what the solution is because you can schedule a team with the intent of going okay We're going up against a big boy and then that team like love you scheduled Clemson five years ago Like LSU did and then Clemson is a shell of the team that it was when they were winning national championships
You know, I mean how that's who LSU played when they had that 2019 team in the national championship game So it's a tough spot, but at the same time there's no reward for it is a fan. I'd love it But I get it right and that's kind of what Sabin was talking about on college game days like they need to factor in Good losses as much as they factor in good wins in terms of the College of Welfare selection committee But when anytime you have guys in a room together, they're gonna have subconscious biases or I'm sorry inherent biases and brand biases that they might be more outward about and The eye tests which can just is like the ultimate trump cards like well from what I've seen they just look better Okay So yeah, I it is frustrating that that like there really is no point in your three non-conference games to schedule anybody Better than you know this directional school state Brandon Walker and Josh paid are the Nick in the Badger of College football Martin I hate to hear Charlie Marlow producer Joe and Michael Wellington's show take a hit. Yeah, that's unfair to them
Thank you, which one was Nick and which one was the Badger? Or is that just a cat's creation of a show because there'd be a lot of these shows God, I hope there aren't any in the building because then it gets awkward. Oh, thanks Okay, where there's a guy with kind of a generic name like Nick But then he's paired with a guy right he's paired with Just a guy you don't know what he might say such a character So we call him the Badger and don't they usually like stands in a tough guy pose that's correct or there's a guy Standing behind a guy who acts like he's about to pull a pen on a grenade and then there are billboards Mm-hmm or choke him like choke him a little bit and yeah, you got a billboard but you're living in squire Yeah, you don't know what sparky five for us gonna say what was the show that Joe would call into in Seattle mission the morning It's in the morning. Yeah, I'm producing the show Goodilleration nor MacDonald was in studio at 590. I'm really really sad Yeah, you would have been that yeah 100% because he even said
He's like yeah, yeah, yeah, sports guys You got a guy what I'm named after an animal Is that right? Yes, and I'm thinking the cat and like we all kind of nervous. They go. Oh good one He literally said yeah, he's for sure Somebody here after an animal and really god, I can't believe I wouldn't remember more McDonald be in there Yes, I remember Joe Rogan and we're either when Joe Rogan and Charlie Murphy came in yeah, Eddie Murphy's brother the great Charlie Murphy to the Rick James James Chappelle show sketch and I really I have to tell you now Rogan's become whatever the hell he's got going on and by that I mean He's you know definitely nine figures. I don't know if he's billionaire With his podcast empire But at the time we're like oh Joe Rogan You know the guy from fear factor Charlie Murphy being in studio. Yeah, well But I don't remember nor Mc Donald being a Kevin Eels been in a couple times and he always great Always
Right he addresses that the nor we're like two days, but the nor Mc Donald Parents the reason I remembered is he made a joke about every show had a guy named after an animal I think it's gonna awkward with the cat and then at 550 I had no Mc Donald. He was playing At the funny bone and he came in and I it seemed like he might have been up all night Or but he this and it's part of his stick, but I couldn't get any answer to like hey, what do you do when you're on the road? On the road. He just I'm like so where are you we're going tomorrow? I was like tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow. Yeah, I'm like bomb on purpose. Yes, and it was it was a Like the tug of war there. I just couldn't get it. Yeah, that's hard. What do you what kind of material you're gonna have? Material I wish I had a norm. I wish I had a copy of the interview. It sounds like he didn't want to be there Yeah, but it was kind of funny. Yeah, it was it was sick Norm Mc Donald documentary coming in Netflix this weekend. That's a rockford. I didn't know that the saving thing starts
Tonight, right? Yes. Yeah. I saw a clip of that with Wayne Kiffin and I'm interested in seeing like a Like of those kinds of things even though I kind of feel like and I don't know if it was the last dance that was the beginning of the trend where you have people Doing their own documentaries, but making it look like they're not responsible for them You know what I mean like they produced it or that they're in it or both that they're that they have like final cut You know That norm documentary comes out on the 16th. Okay On there's what about the Dennis Miller Monday night. Well, I want to see that too. I didn't know there was a documentary on that About him being on about him being on Monday night football. It's kind of disappeared I haven't seen him I loved his HBO show in the late 1990s. I thought it was brilliant Little tears for fears opening. Yeah, there's a 40 minute one on HBO Max and that's already out. Yeah, it came out on The 29th of September. It's only 40 minutes. Yeah
I guess it is possible these guys make so much money at a young age. They just shut it down 100% God almighty the great you always talk about it the greatest thing in the world is being a college football coach You're just done like I'm sitting there in a watching Shane Beamer and he's talking about and don't get me wrong anytime You involve wives or kids. It's like all right now you're now you're getting into an area But he's answering answering those questions the other day in Columbia about the people posting on his Daughters high school, you know Instagram. Yeah, that's gross and that can you know trigger the reptilian brain. I understand that Whenever he gets whacked if he does who knows maybe they start winning games I get already what he has which is enough to shut it down much less the 22 million dollars You got coming to see the violence and one one's the greatest. Oh my God I mean, I mean You know, I mean hey dunk on me on social media, but I'm done and have fun see on the beach
Yeah, I'll see on the golf course. I never have to deal with you again by You win I got fired whatever. I'm rich shut up. I mean, that's how I look at these things How much to Jimbo Fisher get? Isn't that 70 something million? Yeah, I think 70 on the dad Again, one lump sum. We don't like the job you're doing you're 70 million It's like you wake up one morning and there's 70 million more dollars in your account. We're pretty sweet You saw that clear your egg you just like let it ride right there. Don't move a muscle Dennis Miller HBO doc is short and sweet, but the juice is worth the squeeze. That's from the South County schoolmaster Martin Okay, I guess I got the Sabin one tonight the Dennis Miller ones up and then the norm Donald ones next week and what network sound on Netflix strong Netflix documentaries can leave me wanting though. Yeah, but it depends on which production companies make is that right sure who are the good production companies movie? I liked who untold there. I think all their documentaries are pretty solid the untold ones. I like this the
Palos feel like eating like cake did you see the mouse in the palace? I did I think those are pretty good. I mean I like them It's kind of like 30 for 30 years ago if there was a 30 for 30 even if I was an interest in the topic I was gonna watch it and now it's well. Yeah, it's changed hands Oh, is that right those Bill Simmons and the rally guys who started and now that's when it was then that yeah The right those were amazing now. I don't know what it is. Yeah now we'll sense all those guys left I don't know. I feel like it's somebody with a Subaru with a bunch of bumper stickers making them I don't know what the hell happened. It is it I don't know, but it's off the walls. I'm like, I don't okay I'll pass maybe somebody will tell me it's great and I might watch So the Dennis Miller ones on each be sure to me minutes on short. I know documentary But I think the term documentary is used liberally now because again a lot of these are vanity legacy pieces So I see these things pop up and I'm like, okay Here's one on this particular figure. Oh, it's their their story without interviewing anybody else involved
The Norma Talbot Documentaries being done by Judd Apatow who also did Gary I would have high hopes I would agree with you. I know I'm no and that's on Netflix. It's not on HBO Max. That's surprising to me Netflix with Judd Apatow Right, huh? I think his deal might have just ended with got it and normic he was told repeatedly because Dick ever saw no down all my or one of the heads Yeah, I was all the first was friends with Maybe his Omar was there, but it was friends with OJ and they said enough of the OJ jokes on the weekend update and he kept doubling down Yeah, it's like all he did for like the S.P. Joke. Yeah, right Charles Woodson is here. Hi He's a man can't take that away. Well if you're murder your wife and the waiter and all that's her off at the S piece The McGuire Sosa 30 for 30 was the worst with the cartoon BS that's from Doug's work husband Yeah, that was what was at the car there because there's two different ones the 30 for 30 was like the
The some it was just basically a highlight reel them hitting home runs. There was nothing really that introspective in it That's the only one I saw carries in one of them Because when I was a low-perfect a family guy from Edwardsville or something Yeah, you're right and we met him and my older son had just we just watched that one and I thought it was good actually But I don't think this was cartoon stuff and Wilco did the music or Jeff Tweety did it remember that Kind of had like a bluesy twang and that's when My son goes oh we just watched you on the McGuire Sosa thing and he goes yeah, I was with the cubs you can hit me if you want and then my son's truck chip carry Or he gave him a high five and he gave him a very aggressive high five. Oh really? Yeah Full bad for that, but you know chips a big guy. Yeah, who's this young fellow Guru of goal was the goat LMU and Hank gathers forever ducked at some Ed time guru of go Is that mean Paul Westhead was the guru of go bow Kimball Hank gathers? I think so yeah
They used to score like a hundred thirty-point tonight College basketball no He would tell him shoot just as soon as you can Soon as I got across half court the old theory that the more shots you put up the more likely you are to win isn't the Sabin deal like Multiple episodes I believe so yeah six parts I believe I'm kind of I've already kind of got my fill in saving these days I like it. I know I know I like but Jackson you don't like him on game day Yeah, I just wish you would relax a little like does he always have to act like such a power that all the time Yeah, I almost feel like kind of like we're starting to theorize the six one hate is leaning into the character. Yeah I think Sabin might be leaning into it, but he is he is so Astute on what is more of like a circus show, but it depends on what you want it's he places roll correctly Right, but you think he's like leaning into it. Yeah, and I just that on now it It still gives off the vibe that I'm smarter than everybody else like it's like it's a
But it's a problem of him being there is no 100% but it's it's there Humility is something that you can do like you can have something and not saying that he Like abilities an important thing Like he's bothered by being there like he's like you guys should be thanking me for being here I don't I don't pick up that that's just the vibe I really like smack a fee and is amused by him I agree there and I think he respects Reese Davis and Herb Street and does man Howard's I don't I don't see it but maybe I'm off Yeah, I wouldn't say that it's like between the guys on the show It's just like his general vibe is like well, I'm here and you guys should be grateful not you guys this terms of his fellow castmates But all it like you guys on at home on television and to me that rose me the wrong way. I get it. You're the goat great, but I also tend to believe ghosts don't broadcast Hold on a second goat don't broadcast or shouldn't broadcast So it's a shot at Tom Brady and Sabin yeah and me Right Close you do that like once a quarter different okay Jordan was supposed to be on NBA and I'm see you show that just
He yeah, he showed up like for like five minutes. He's like yeah, it's probably gonna be enough for the season right Like whatever you say like a Mike Trico Yes, and then they just clipped it into like 10 parts. Yeah, he was Frontline it all season. Yes. Yeah, so I was his I never saw that happening. No, never saw that I think goats should not broadcast go to that broadcast This is a thing. I think it only hurts your legacy I don't know any like all-time great player whose legacy was improved by then broadcast it almost makes them seem more human if they're broadcasting right They like you know, yes, yes, that's a great call right there Doug Jack Nicholson just kind of just well now he just the designs courses and and the nickel son Nicholas or Nicholson Jack Nicholson has I think his disappearance is more of a health thing Over the years the miss the legend. Yes, not overexposed to your point. I thought I was furthering your point I'm sorry kind of like disappearing Yeah, like decaprio does very few staying out of the limelight purpose
Eric in the central west end disagrees with you Jackson a Tom Brady is incredible on Fox plus he simply looks so effing hot on TV Okay, I can see we're coming from the second. I don't think he's all that but I don't you know judging broadcasters I remember hearing Robert redford say he would never do TV projects because he thought that Lesson his star power at the time for you wanted to be 10 feet tall on the movie screen rather than 10 inches tall And I shared Jackson's opinion that at the time that probably that was yeah, no one went back They do that thing in the hunter eyes like you got a movie's he never go back to TV But that that of course a different whole different now. I share this take Carlos HD two we did we did we did it we did it and I think we're gonna I think we're gonna be trailblazers for other broadcasters. I want to go on HD two Carlos spicy we were there with a take I agree with Martin I don't know if we were doing the morning grind at this time feel like we were The fantastic lies 30 for 30 about Duke lacrosse should be required viewing for every person that's from Carlos spicy here
Like were we discussed yes, I just I that we have two things Well, I mean that one's certainly way more obscure to the Rams moving but on this ridiculous program and now spanning 20 plus years There are two takes that we were out ahead of when it wasn't popular to be out ahead of the Rams moving this show I know you weren't on it at the time, but this show Doug the cat myself were on it and covering it and it was unpopular to cover because it wasn't popular news It's like the Rams beat the sea ox yesterday, but they're moving we can't we can't like sit here and say hey pay attention to the win over here We've got a major economic situation here and the market isn't talking about it for whatever reason probably because it's not going to be popular and then we get attacked by the listeners for talking about it because it started in 12 really I mean I might have started before then but it was after the Jeff Fisher press conference the last public appearance by Cronkey where he spoke and then the Duke lacrosse thing and I recall being on that from the moment I'm like man
Something right about this and It's a it's a perfect setup where these guys are gonna be the bad guys even if they're innocent and then sure enough So I share Carlos spicy winners Take on that that is if you're watch that one papers. That's a great one. No, I will mark you. It's a great one Duke so you are on the Yeah, yeah, we've been all right.
