So, uh, yeah, man, I'm excited about this game. Excited about traveling down the Tallahassee. If you don't know my story or, you know, I haven't been following
the podcast or myself for many years. My big cousin that I out of line Sean Hamlin went to Florida State. He was a part of that 95 team that lost here in Charlottesville. He also was a part of the national championship team that defeated Nebraska. And he's not having any time to play in Florida State. I'm ready. I'm excited. You know, and you know what you gotta get ready for when it comes to Florida State. If you are a young player and you don't know what you're getting into when you hit a start playing through the speakers, not the speakers, because it's day ban. Just embrace it. Just sit, just soak it in. When I walk you, you know, I'm saying, yes, sir. Who's on the way? And you're going to hit this right here. Oh, oh, oh. You can't let this scare you, dog. This is what you want. This is why you come to college football for traditions like
this. You know, I'm saying, yes, sir. Who's on the way? And you're going to hit this right here. You know, I'm starting to think that's K بد appreciate us all for traditions like this to go up in that place. Where you are one and nine. The odds are stacked up and gets you. They claim they don't like their headCoach. They claim they want them gone. But you better believe this war chance still going to be tearing out there and that Ch加 gonna be going and you that chant some Simpletrucs, I got a nothing going around. All you got to do is make a couple plays and you make a couple plays to serve that? Simpletrucs, I got a nothing going around. Then stop playing that war chant, but if you don't, if you don't, you're gonna keep hearing it. So you can control how many times you hit that war chant
and if the chant really is worth it. So that's my intro. We're gonna see what coach had to say about the same Florida state. Just just just the brand at any time you think of Florida state. Last year when we played them, there was top 10, they had already defeated Alabama. It was coming in here. You know, we had just lost the NC state a couple of games before. Ironically, we got the same identical record facing them as we did last year. But this time we're on the road. This time they aren't ranked. This time we send my favorites. But you got to have the same mindset. This game can springboard you. Just like last year. Because people really want to know if the true squad known as the Wahos will stand up. Because they ain't give you no credit for bouncing back versus Delaware. They still wondering, can this team show up on the road?
versus a true road test? And this is Florida state. So let's hear what here coach Tony Elliott had to say about Florida state. Go back with Florida state to the Bobby Boundon days. There have been several coaches since then. Has there been a common denominator to Florida state teams through the years starting with the Boundon years? Yeah, they got dudes. They've always had best talent in college. So that's been consistent. And I think that'll be consistent going forward. I mean, it's Florida state. Like when you, when you, when you. I mean, it's a blue blood. I mean, it's one of the big big time logos. So that's what's been consistent. There's always been a ton of talent in a, in Tallahassee. Do your players all recognize the attitude? Do you have to kind of remind them of that? Yeah, I think when they cut on the tape. They recognize it, especially.
You know, what you're seeing now in college football with some of these, these marquee matchups early in the season. So prior to playing them last year and this year, they've had a chance to see them go, you know, toe to toe without a battle. And man, that you watch that tape, especially in that game. And that was a, that was a heavyweight fight. All right. That was, that was probably, you know, two of them more talented rosters in the country going against each other. So I think when they cut on the tape, they see it. Now, do they, do they understand who floor to state is? I don't know. But I don't know the kind of the climate we're in in college football if, if the players really know like the history of college football. And, but I told them, you know, point blank in my opinion. And, and maybe I could be getting old and not paying attention to the times, but it's floor state. Like, I mean, ACC football floor state. Like, I mean, and Florida State and Clemson for a long time were the two that you had to go through.
And I was fortunate to be at Clemson. So you had to go through floor state. And man, I took some butt weapons from, uh, from them dudes down there as a player and as a, as a coach. And, I mean, you just, you start throwing out names. If I just started calling out names of players, college and pro. I mean, it's, it's, it's floor to state. So that's the way that, that I approach. They got one of the best atmospheres in college football to, to play in. When, when, when, when, when, don't camel gets rocking, like, you're not going to find a more electric, you know, atmosphere to, to play in. So, um, got a ton of respect just for the program. I got a ton of respect for, uh, for, uh, for Coach Novel. And he's done, uh, he's done a, he's done a really good job, right? Um, and it's hard. Like, it's, it's, it's hard and, and I think that, uh, you know, this, this day and age is different, you know, and being consistent is, is, is a challenge for everybody, especially with the roster turnover, but, uh, they got it.
They got a really good football team down there, uh, throughout the record. Not worried about that. Not worried about what happened in the first four games. Man, it's going to be a, a fast physical, you know, violent game on, uh, on Saturday. And we're going to play well, uh, to, to put ourselves in position in the fourth quarter to have a chance to win. My bad. So that was Heyer Coach Tony Elliott. Just discussing like the, the Florida State Seminole brand, the atmosphere, the history, you know, with him playing that Clemson in the late 90s, early 2000s and then becoming a coach on that coaching staff and understanding that Florida State was the ACC big dog for many, many, many, many, many, many, many years, even though he was at Clemson, he understood you had to beat Florida State. So a lot of times, right, when you have a press conference like that, just a fans interpretation a lot of times.
I know the biggest thing with fans is like bullets and boring material, you know, be humble, be respectful because there's so many things that, uh, opponents can interpret fans can interpret and you try to say, all you want to get them any added motivation or, uh, you want to show that you confident but not over like it's that fine line. I think coach is being very transparent because it's, it's all about, like the air in which you grew up in and the brand, how the brand has been looking since you've been born. You know, when we grew up, we think about the ACC, we thought about Florida State, then the next generation come in and they may think about Clemson. You know, now it's, well, you know, it, like he says, not just, you know, my Emmy went to the National Championship last year. People probably think it, you know, my Emmy, um, but when it comes to Florida State,
one thing they always going to have is talent. Well, you cut the film on, they got a lot of it. Now it's all about playing as a team, playing as a collective, you know, it's one thing to, to have one of the best recruiting class, another and one thing to have a lot of talent, but can that talent mesh, can that talent fit what you're doing schematically and can they play together because football is the ultimate team sport. If it was just about, you know, the talent you have on a roster and then Florida State will be a lot of teams. Like if you didn't have to play the game and you just played, like, like, not even fantasy football because fantasy football, you still got to watch the game, but if you just did a hypothetical, roster, just put your starting lineup versus their starting lineup and where they were rated in high school and their measurements and their testing, Florida State will probably win. My last year, if you just looked at the talent from high school
and they, and they start ratings and things like that, when they came in here to Scott Stadium, you would say, oh, Florida State going to win this game. Gus Malzahn offers a coordinator. We know his legacy and things that nature will often, so, you know, that's what it is. But at the end of the day, at the end of the day, it's the reason you play the game. We've been favored this year, got smacked. Been doubted the year, BTA. It's a reason you play the game and at the end of the day, they got a lineup just like we got a lineup. I don't look. I know we what, one in nine. What's up? Yeah. They are nine and one versus us at Dope Cake, inside of Dope Campbell Stadium. Okay. I think we last time we won there was like 2011. Last time we've been there is 2014.
But we beat them the year after they won the National Championship. I believe when famous James was still there. I could be wrong, but I know James was the quarterback. That's the year we closed down Miami. You know, got rid of that stadium with a BTA. Then came back and be floored state. But it's a reason you play the game. All respect to them. We go over there roster, lot of speed, lot of talent. One of the best receivers not only in the ACC, but in the country in Duce Robinson. They got a nice young running back. They're like, he can play ball, they quarterback. Astan Daniels, mobile, can throw the football. Do anything you want to do. But at the end of the day, can you execute for four quarters? And that's why we hear. Because on this preview, we're going to break down.
The teller to take. You know what I'm saying? And then we're going to watch some film. We may watch a little bit of last year. We'll watch that Alabama game. You know, the central Arkansas. We're going to watch a team. Y'all respect Alabama. We might want some SMU. We're going to watch too much. It's going to be 30, 40 minutes episode. We already do what 13, 14 minutes in. So. All right, man. The who's on the road. And I think the two of you. There's some. Here's some. Here's some. Here's a story lines for Saturday's match. A Virginia and for the state were meet for the second straight season. And the 21st time overall, UVA and FSU have not met and backed their back games since the 2010, 2011 seasons. The Cavaliers visit Tallahassee for the first time since 2014. UVA is one and nine and Road Contest against for the state with its only victory coming in 2011.
The two of us now, who's up in it then number 23. Florida State 14 to 13. Of the 21 meetings between FSU and UVA Saturday, a thick juicy cheeseburger, a cheesy, gooey quesadilla. Both family favorites. So how do you choose at Applebeats. You don't have to. Introducing Applebees new OMG's a dear burger heart. Jews beef burger. Part ear. Is this the ble cheesy quesadilla? Serve with tortilla chips on the sizzling skillet of even more cheese. We dare you to resist the poll. Right now, the OM-Cisa deer burger is on Applebee's 2 for 25 menu. A full-sized appetizer and two entrees, including the OM-Cisa deer burger for just 25 bucks. That's eating good in the neighborhood. The crispy chicken crunch wrap slider that you love is back at Taco Bell. And it's back with attitude, because now you can enjoy the all-white meat chicken nuggets inside a slider-sized crunch wrap with Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch. What do you love most? The crispy chicken nuggets, the crunch wrap slider, or maybe the Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch? But yes, the answer is yes.
The crispy chicken crunch wrap slider, a brand new classic is back, only at Taco Bell. You just got back to your Toyota truck and you can't feel your fingers. You've been out here for 13 days. Now, 16, 15, you've lost track. You're eating something you wouldn't dare look in the eyes while taking directions from a phone that ran out of signal miles ago. Every bone and muscle in your body has filed a formal complaint. And the only gas you've got left is in the tank of your truck. But you know what? You're the happiest you've been in years. Toyota trucks outlast outlive. Hey, Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now, I don't know if you've heard, but Mint's premium wireless is $15 a month. But I'd like to offer one other perk. New customer offer for three months only then full price plan options available. Taxes and fees extra. SeammentMobile.com. Mark's only the third time. 20 2006, 2010. And 2026. That neither team is ranked in associated top 25. Listen to the stat. Virginia. Comes into the contest allowing just 130 yards per game. The lowest in the ACC and the fifth few was in the country. Opposing quarterback sport and 84.2 efficient rating. The lowest in the country. UVA is only allowing 130. I know. I know we play. Norfolk state and Delaware NC state in West Virginia. Y'all don't respect NC state because they be looking like some trash can't use. I get it. Y'all don't respect Norfolk state. Delaware came in with the 11th best passing offense in the country. Y'all don't respect that either.
Y'all looking at the West Virginia game like the Wayne game. We really had a chance to prove rules of jit. Didn't work out. So I know I ate. I understand the context folks. But everybody picking shoes when they like numbers. That's all I'm saying. A lot of y'all love the throw numbers out there. And don't fit your narrative. So all I'm doing is sharing the numbers with y'all. Because that's what we do with share some numbers. Saturday will be UVA's first true road test of the 2026 season. Including the match up against Florida state. UVA will play three of his next five games away from Scott stadium. UVA travels to SMU after they return home versus Syracuse next week. And then they're traveled to Wake Forest after what is it? Do we play? I was right here in my face. I thought we played Duke. And it's right there. I'm looking up in the sky trying to remember. So hey, the who's going to have to demonstrate like they did last year. Because the first game away from Scott stadium last year that we won.
Because we lost the NC State first that we won. Was Louisville after beating Florida State. All right, Virginia is one of five ACC teams without an ACC law through the first four weeks of the season. The Cavaliers opened the season and week zero with the 34 to eight win over NC State and Charlottesville. Virginia says that three and one for the second straight season and the seven and three and a month of September since 2024. UVA has won back to back ACC row openers under head coach Tony Elliott having to feed in Louisville 30 to 27 over time last season and Wake Forest by score a 31 to 30 and 2024. UVA has forced at least one turnover and 13 of his last 15 games. And that same span the Cavaliers have forced a turnover. A total force a total of 25 turnovers 19 in acceptance and six
from recovery. So it's very important for UVA to produce a turnover because the two games in which they did not produce those turnovers they lost. Wake Forest at home. West Virginia and Charlotte this year. UVA has allowed a total of 52 points the fewest through four games since 2004 where they allow 48 when it won his first five games of the season. 18 Cavaliers have caught a pass for Virginia this season. Each of UVA's last three games has featured double digit pass catchers. All right some storylines. Warrisiever the Sean Martin is the only Cavalier on the current UVA roster to play at Dope Campbell Stadium. Daniel. While playing for Kent State last season he caught three passes for 94 yards which included at 75 yard touchdown catch. The longest play from scrimmage against the Seminole's in 2025.
Martin has seven receptions this season for UVA 3 of which have gone for touchdowns. As an assistant coach at Clemson. Elliott is seven and three against Florida State which included a three and two mark in Tyler Hasse the Tigers one seven ACC titles with Elliott on staff and the FESU in the regular season and six of the seven championship season. The two teams did not play during Clemson's 2020 ACC championship season so they go that was some some some fun facts and stats. Let me see if I could get both teams compare next to each other here we go. So statistical comparison all right scoring offense. UVA averages 40.5. Florida State averages 32. Florida State gives up 25.3 points of game UVA is giving up just 13 points of game. Now I understand Florida State has played SMU Alabama respectfully.
So UVA has 28 points off a turnover. Florida State has 10 points off a turnover total first downs. UVA has 96. Florida State has 77. Russian yards again. UVA is averaging 192.8 Russian yards per game. Florida State is averaging 172.3 Russian yards again. We're giving up 116.8 again. They are giving up 139.8. Passing yards. UVA is averaging 254.5. Florida State is averaging 235. In a half they are giving up 290. Passing yards again. While UVA is giving up just 130.3. And I do want to say UVA secondary has the best QB rating in the FBS. I want to say it's like 50. So salute to them. And I know the West Virginia game that gave up some big throws on third down.
Overall in this totality this year and granted. I know CJ Bennett was supposed to come in. Set the world on fire. Shut him down. And the what he did versus Van the built. Looking like Tony from Blue Chips. Don't know by respect that win no more. So they just looking at what Hawkins did. And I know Hawkins threw for two touchdown passes. But he still threw for less than 200 yards. All right. Yeah, he threw for less than 200 yards that game. Or at 200 yards. Thing was less. One one one era we have struggled at this year compared to last year. Third down conversion percentage. Has not been good. Am I paying for the Cavaliers only 38% now the defense is at 32% for the state. They convert at a 41% rate. But their opponents are converging at a 46% rate.
Now one thing we have been good at is going for it on fourth down. We are 11 to 13 for 85%. Opponents have had five opportunities and got the first down once for 20% rate. Florida State has had eight opportunities to go for it on fourth down. They converted five times 63% and then their opponents have the same exact number. Eight attempts. Five. Convergence. So 63% Sacks by we have eight. They have seven. We've given up 10. They're giving up eight. And their field goal kicker has not missed a field goal in his Florida State career. He's 20 or 20 for his career. He's five or five this year. And we know Will has missed his last two, but he's going to get it together. All right. A red zone scores for the state is 17. A perfect 17 to 17 in the red zone. We are 15 of 18. We have 14 red zone touchdowns in those 18 attempts.
They have 13 touchdowns in those 17 attempts. So for what is worth. So here's the thing about Florida State. Well, here's the thing about our last three games. So wait for us. Had that three man front. Started giving us different looks with the bear, the bear front with five down linemen and bringing pressure through the A gaps. Challenging us a total football. Delaware had that three three stack with three safes. Trying to mimic the same thing. They came out for down linemen and had the bear front bringing pressure through the A gaps. They're not to throw the Florida State. Similar principles. Coach talked about in his press conference. He causes a cyclone defense because, you know, they originated from like Iowa State with running the three three five. But instead of having a nickel, you insert a deep safety. So you have three safeties and that middle safety can kind of come down and be that robber and and line up in different spots and roam and just be a playmaker.
So we saw this defense last season. So, you know, in last year, we ran the football well with Jamar Taylor and going back and looking at that film, Chandler Morris utilizes legs like the most that game. Right? At the perfect time, Chandler Morris made the difference by using his legs. So, you know, now we have both. Probuella, we know what he brings to the table. His athleticism. I'm Alabama had a mobile quarterback. That's some you had a mobile quarterback. Florida State will spy. But a lot of times it just feel like they Jimmy and Joe is going super siege your ex and those. They feel like they front four or front three. Whatever they did since six and play Z-Roll. They're sending. I mean, I'm sorry. Since seven. This is seven. Yeah. They got three.
They had three downlamin on Eastside and then they will put that star safety right over the center and bring them. And the quarterback has to identify who the free Russia is and where he's going to go with the football. Anytime Florida State needed to play versus SMU, they brought seven. Versus Bambana, they tried. They quarterback did a good job of eluting them. Then a couple of times they got home. The thing about Florida State, they play some combo zones. They play some man on one side, short zone on the other. And it's all about just finding the holes, the route combinations. I can kind of see the game plan that we have versus Delaware. And utilize the verse for the state with the understanding that Florida State got better Jimmy and Joe. They got grown as men on that deep as a line. They could get after you. They line back as go run with the best of they corners. They got some avatars playing corners.
All of them joke is tall. I know I'm sure but dammit, they all six one six two can run. They may have some miscommunications, but you know they're going to get up in your face and go challenge you at the line of scrimmage. So it's all about ball placement, being intentional, which a release, getting to your proper depth, attacking the football, and making plays after the catch. I can see as utilizing the bubble screen again with with Cam Courtney. I can see as utilizing slip screens with the half backs. Just getting our running backs involved just because they want to pressure. They want to bring guys from different areas. So the best way to to cancel that out, move guys around. Of course the window shopping on Beyond the Split. We're going to shift. We're going to motion. We're going to see if they bump or if they follow. The one thing that jumped out to me just reading Florida State's game, no salute to them for the game, no.
First of all, they scoured report. I already talked about like, Duce Robbs. And Duce Robbs in the last year was first team all ACC. He led the ACC and Yarsbury game had over 100 yards of game. He has five career 120 yard receiving games. Second most among actor players behind only Jermah Smith for more house. They last year he gave us fits. They threw back shoulder so much that that dude. He just, Duce is a grown man. Coach Elliott recruiting him coming out. You know, high school. He thought he was going to end up being the tight end. He stayed at Yarsbury receiver. He's six six and he, and he, he, he played. He's six six two 30. That's a damn tight end. That's a flex tight end. Dude is a ball player. Number zero. He ain't no zero though. He wear number zero, but he not a zero. The dude is, the dude can ball, bro. He had nine catches for 147 yards and one touchdown. Now he did ball with that ball, late in the game to help us, you know, win.
So we appreciate him for that. But last year, man, he was, he was going crazy. He was going crazy. So he can play. So you got to know with zero at, you know, they're going back, so to throw. We got to, you know, kind of do different things with him. Got to be physical. Just can't give him a free release. But in the, in the act of being physical, you got to utilize your feet more than your hands when you're going to get a receiver like Duce. Danzy number eight is going to be the fastest player on the Dan field. He's a 400 meter sprinter. Dude, his fast is hell. They usually do it in and around with him, try to get him in space. Danzy can fly number eight for the state. When I tell you, he could pick him up and put him down. He could pick him up and put him down. Better make sure you, you keep contained on him.
Ain't no, my bads when he get the ball. Hell no. You say my bad. If he outflank you and you saying my bad, you coming to the sideline. Javanne box had a hundred yards last week. I mean, two weeks ago versus Alabama with Duce. He has six. How many yards did he have? Six catches for 122 yards and a touchdown number 15. 61209. Good route running. Good after the catch. But it starts with Ashen Daniels, man. A thick juicy cheeseburger. A cheesy gooey quesadilla. Both family favorites. So how do you choose? At Apple Bees, you don't have to. Introducing Apple Bees new O.M. Chesadilla burger. Heart juicy beef burger. Part ear-resistibly cheesy quesadilla. Serve with tortilla chips on a sizzling skillet of even more cheese. We dare you to resist the pull. Right now, the O.M. Chesadilla burger is on Apple Bees 2 for 25 menu. A full-sized appetizer and two entrees, including the O.M. Chesadilla burger for just 25 bucks.

As a new offensive coordinator, Tim Harris, Jr. is the offensive coordinator, even though coach Noville calls the place. He is the passing game. He was the passing game coordinator last year. Last year, Gus, my zone was the offensive coordinator. We know Gus, my zone loves to run the football last year. Florida State led the ACC and total offense average and 472 yards and also Russian offense. They had all the yards. They had all the stats first of us last year. They just didn't have more points. Tim Harris, Jr. takes over. Gus, my zone,
and Tim were together at use. I'm sorry. Harris, he previously worked on the Gus at UCF and FIU. But Noville actually calls the place. He has a traditional up-tempo spread type of offense. But for not mistaken, Noville might call the place. It could be wrong. So still some of the same principles last year, but they want to get guys up on the edge. Chroma, Chroma's a good bat. He's a good bat. Run behind his pads. He's physical, confident. He had a career high versus last year. So I'm not mistaken. He put up his stats from last year. Yeah, he had his career high, career high numbers last year. Because this year, of course, he's, he averaging almost 100 yards a game.
But versus Virginia last year, set season highs with 12 carries in 63 yards. This year, he been, he been balled in this year. He been balling. Had 116 yards versus SMU, 86 yards versus Alabema, 86 yards last week versus Central Arkansas. But he started off this season with 115 versus New Mexico state, then 116 versus SMU, the jet running bat. Only team that's really slow. Florida states offense down as far as running the football is Bama. But on the flip side, they had their best passing day versus Bama. Because they almost do for 400 yards. They had like 377. And I think they only threw the ball maybe 20 times. They threw the ball versus Bama 29 times, 17 completions
or 29 attempts, 377 yards, two touchdowns, but also three intercepts. Now, I will say this about Florida state. A lot of talent on offense. The main concern for them is the offensive line. They had, they basically have all new starters on the offensive line. So you can run some games up front and get and, and confuse them. But they were tasked with replacing their entire starting offensive line. So you got Xavier Chaplin, Andre Oto, Brandon, joiner, Nate Paps, and Jim Dia, I ain't messing up his last name, but a lot of them actually, um, was a part of the NFL Academy. So like, Euro players, European and African Academy in the UK,
um, Asia Pacific Academy in Australia. So, you know, salute to them for, for scanning the globe for talent. But our guys are front. You got a chance. But you got to stand your wrestling because we all know the elephant in the room, right? What game they gonna look at? West Virginia game. Simple as that. They're gonna look at the West Virginia game. They're gonna feel like they're gonna run the football and they're gonna put a douche in the slot and they say, attack the middle. Because they already do the RPO with the lookie when they put the ball in the belly of the running back, pull it and throw the slant. Matter of fact, that's look at, that's look at some, that's look at some film right now. Because we, we, we've been yapping a little too long. Oh, I do want to shit this little stat before I pull up the film. So in a month of October, since no veil has been the coach for the nose, they are 10 and 12.
If the nose score between 10 and 29 points, they are 7 and 30. When they score more than 30 points, they are 33 and 4. When opponents score at least 20 points, the siminals are 11 and 13. When opponents score under 19 points, the siminals are 24 and 2. When opponents score more than 30 points, the siminals are 5 and 21. So take it for what is worth. When it's going first, they are 28 and 10. When the opponents score first, they are 12 and 26. What we saw that last year, because we jumped out to a 14, oh, lead. And we end up winning. Leading after the first quarter, they are 23 and 8. Trelling after the first quarter, they are 9 and 21.
Leading that halftime, they are 31 and 5. Trelling that halftime, they are 8 and 28. Leading after three quarters, they are 35 and 5. Trelling after the third quarter, they are 3 and 28. With the 100-yard rusher, they are 14 and 7. With the 100-yard receiver, they are 14 and 7. When 14 and 6, 14 and 7, with the 300-yard passer, they are 6 and 1. I mean, they pretty much us, like this year, we've been very good when we've gotten leads and the one game we had to play from behind, we lost. So I'm just giving y'all numbers because everybody loves stats. So I'm giving you some stats, take it for what it is. Not saying, hey, we're going to win or we're going to lose because of the numbers. But let's just look at some of this BAM game and then we're going to get up out of here, man. I just want to show y'all, I might show y'all a little bit of our game if they don't show the three safety high that much in this game.
So let me cut the volume down. So copyright one, buses in the head, two months. But this is the, this is the third down versus the BAM. As you can see, they coming, showing the five man front, they get that three man look, got the nose in the, and the one eye was zero, and then five eye, two outside guys. Seven is the star safety, seven is a good ball player. So they just shoot the gap. Good job of playing with their hands causing the pile. Just getting up blocks. They got athletes, man. And they pursue to the football well. Their main thing is just been like miscommunications and things of that nature. All right, remember, I told you about the inside of the RPO with the slant. Duces at the bottom and the boundary, RPO slant. He 66230 based their tight end plan receiver. Tough cover. I can expect a lot of that versus us.
Short motion. Now, Kroman has vision and he has really good feet. Watch this jump cut. And he's fascinating what he looks. He pulls away from people. And he run behind his past. Now look at this. This jump cut right here. Boom. That's really good feet right there by that young man. That's really good feet. And he just pulls away. He's a really good back man. There comes a blitz down the sand the blitz. And all that spells. If you get if you get in pressure, throw it to zero. Zero go make a play. That's what you do. 66230. I'm getting blitz. I'm finding what zero at and I'm throwing it up. Look at this. I mean, the corner got cushion. I don't know why he flipped that way like that.
And then he kind of just panning. You got it. You can't pan it. He just fell down. But that was a good play by the quarterback. K-YP, know your person now. Throw it up to your star receiver. All right. So I can see us going trips versus for the state. And man, but it looks like the backers just buzzing playing a hook zone area. But look at this. Even with this catch, watch how they swam to the football. Still doesn't get the first down. Look how early he caught the ball. Watch him just close. Show attack. Come here. Yeah. That's a great play by this nickel. Again, RPO slant. RPO lookie. Look at that nickel. Gave a look like he was full and then just retrace his steps.
Ready to eyes of the quarterback. I think he got tipped a little bit. It might have. Played. Take that. That's a good play. Because it's there. It's great play by that nickel. Not giving up. But as you can see, we run some of the coverage. It's there. I mean, he bucking neckets. He he he thought that like he should. That's that's possible. If he throw him up the field, that might be six. But good play by the nickel. Yeah, it was tip. Let's see if I could see if they're in a three-sake. He looked. All right, look at this. And a three-sake. Uh, uh, it's a third and long. Yes, third and long.
quarterback does a good job of standing to play. Back out the backfield. Fourth and three. Bringing some pressure. Playing man to man. The whip route out here. Clean pocket for us on target this year. Kill the running back. That's a man beater. All right. Here we go. For the state taking a shot off a play action. Whoo. I'm a cod dancey the fastest dude on the field. Just under thrown. Amen. We wide open like that. Just get the ball to him. So on that play they didn't show on the replay. I'm Florida state. I think they was in too high and they ran pol so Florida state rampogo.
Post go. And I want to say Bama ran a similar cover to like we do where the corner didn't sink with the release of number two. So we give that same look. So if they run pol go a post with a goal. Mentors just going how to just give ground. And hopefully we could reroute the slot guy without a linebacker and end or a nickel. But they're going to understand that we've been vulnerable in the middle of the field. Tell me he don't look like he running that fast but he runs away from people. Boy run like a young OJ Simpson with the Buffalo bills back in the day. Tell me he don't look like OJ running for my old heads out there. Boy look like Oriental James. And you see the impact of life back to go. Tell me he don't run like OJ.
You're good running back man. Oh, here we go. So this was the big play right here. I was talking about pol go post go. You got receiving an outsider running the go route. See how the safety has to get off the hash. And you see how the corner didn't drop fast enough. So usually if you play and cover to and you just outside guy and teachers may have changed. But for some reason I said a lot of corners come up now and they they basically looking at the quarterback playing short zone playing in between. Not rerolling this guy and just letting them run unwarranted up like no confrontation. No nothing just free release. Now this safety has it for some reason safety turns and wants to get over top of him versus just using death to be able to see both of them.
But this open this open run this crossover run gives him free like he has a free release now. No reroute by this guy. So he's not touched. He's not touched. And he runs the 400 meters. He's a 400 meter champion. If you don't reroll him, he running by everybody. He he dead to rights. He's done. He's not going to catch him. If any of our safes get in this type of situation versus number eight. The war chant going to start playing. And this ball was thrown on the money. This is six easy touchdown. Like post go. He just saw the ball open. I know people like ball like he ran the post to he may have ran the post also that makes this even tougher on him. Now I don't know what the backside safety saw. But they run a short zone on this side. Tampa to.
So I can see them running at versus us. This is them versus the run. Alabama had the best Russian. Russian day versus them Alabama ran for 200 yards as a team. They were committed to running the football versus Florida state as well. They were also successful throwing the football versus Florida state. This young quarterback was making plays with his legs. As you can see improvisation. And I negated a lot of free pass rushes that they had. Russell through for 300 and 20 yards versus Florida state. So my keys. Yeah, we we we being you you you you get the sense they got some playmakers. Offensively defensively. Their coach nor they already said they're going to look at their West Virginia tape. Why wouldn't you we going to look at Bama and SMU tape. That's what you do you look at the games in which teams lost who had the most success versus your opponent.
Let's look at them. Let's see if we have the ability to mimic some of the things they do. What then what then our scheme. Because a lot of people think you could just do with other team did. No, if it's not a part of your principles and what you do schematically, you can't just say we're going to do that. Don't work like that. And theory you think it could happen like that. Don't work like that. Now if you having to have some of the same plays and some of the same concepts, then you good. Just like UVA a feel comfortable going versus that defense because of the last two weeks. They've seen three man line man that turned a four that turned the five man looks three sails on the back end. Hey. These are better athletes than these last two guys. Don't get wrong. What's for you? You have some. Have some good players though. They just won't know. But at the end of the day, man, you got to execute. Both take care of the football. Both is your first true road test. You've been phenomenal at Scott Stadium.
Phenomenon Scott Stadium. And I ain't even saying you I came and say you was bad versus West Virginia. You just that you didn't give us the same juice as far as like being the threat running the football. You know, because maybe we saw that we can run the football. Maybe that was like an eye opening saying you know what bro, we can't get caught up in just trying to ground and pound. Because it takes you're taking your best weapon out of rhythm. So you got to start fast with both. You know what I'm saying? You going down there dope Campbell Stadium. It's Florida State. It's still got a big brand. I know they fans could plan and about, you know, their coach that don't that shouldn't affect us. That shouldn't mean that we should go in super confident. Oh, they fans don't even like them. They they're gonna lay down. No, they're going to fight. They go on fight. Just like we go on fight. And you got to come out victorious. Take care of the football shoulder line of scrimmage.
Execute at a higher clip. Generate turnovers. Pass rush discipline. Keep the quarterback contained. When the 50 50 balls versus do's Robinson and these other Florida State receivers. Get timely turnovers. If you're going win the time of possession, make sure you are scoring points. Just win in the time of possession without scoring points is a wasted stat. So wasted stat. So what you had to borrow the most you didn't score. We got to improve an ability to converge on third down. We shared that stat. The opponents are converging at mid 40s. Mid 40s. Our opponents is like 30 32% low 30s. But we only conversion as offense 36% so we got to improve there.
