UK's Hot Streak: Three Days of Record-Breaking Heat

0:00On April 6, the U.K.'s in for a hot streak this week, with highs pushing 24 degrees Celsius, just one degree off the early April record from, 2011 and 2020. Forecasters say this could smash the warmest day so far, not once, but three times over. Tim start climbing Tuesday to 22 degrees, then peak Wednesday in South East England, all thanks to high pressure rolling in. This warm-up hits right after Storm Dave's fury over Easter, where 70 mile-an-hour winds wrecked havoc across Northern England, Scotland, and Wales. Met office folks blame southerly winds dragging continental heat our way, but it's a quick flip early April weather loves these sharp swings. By Thursday, we're back down to 10 degrees, with the weekend holding a 10 in the north and 14 in the south. Bundle up after that brief summer tease.
