UConn Crushes Xavier, Advances to Big East Semifinals

0:00On March 13th, the Yukon men's basketball team crushed Xavier 93-68 in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. They dominated early and advanced to the semi-finals for the sixth straight year. Next up, they faced the winner of Villanova vs. Georgetown on Friday at APM. Their Big 3 combined for 51 points, with Solo Ball hitting 4-3 pointers for 19 points. Terris Reed Jr. grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 17 for his 10th double-double this season. Alex Caribon added 15 points, 5 boards, and 4 assists. Bench player stepped up Big 2, like Jaden Ross with 9 points, thunderous dunks, and 3 steals in 22 minutes. Others, including Salis de Mary Jr., Braille and Mullens, and Eric Raevi, each scored 9. Yukon bounced back strong from a poor shooting night against Marquette. They led 50-30 at halftime after owning the boards. 21-10 and forcing turnovers with no starter mistakes in the first 20 minutes.

1:01Xavier cut it to 13 early in the second, but Yukon pulled away again with more 3s and free throws. Shooting 57.4% from the field, and 12-32 from Deepsealed, the win. Yukon now eyes another deep tournament run. Tied with Georgetown for the most Big East titles at 8-apiece.
