There are layers to archmaning when you say archmaning and TJ's already in the text line. He's brought down all the numbers just like I kind of did coming into the show. Thanks TJ. There's layers archmaning. If you just say I can barely read the text message, but all I can see is got bored earlier and broke down archmaning. TJ, I can't wait to read your text message. You think of archmaning you hear manning, Peyton, Eli, Archie, Cooper. It's the name on the back of the jersey. The play. And that's for him. I mean, it's his name. It's a ways a lot.

3:01It's not necessarily fair to him. Has he or will he ever live up to that name? Who knows? I don't know. Has he so far in terms of being the number one overall recruit? 5 star 2023 class, you know, quarterback and all that. Has he lived up to everything that was the hype? No, not to this point. But Peer Bat Pillback a layer here. Has archmaning been bad? I would not say archmaning has been bad. I think he's been solid. I think he's getting better. I thought the back half of last season, his first year as a starting quarterback, he played some pretty good football. Now, as we will break down in our show today, and as TJ has already done it here in the text line, 6, 5, 6, 9, 9, 100, there is a distinct difference in archmaning at home and archmaning on the road. Now, to be fair, to be fair, he's only been the starting quarterback for five true road games. And that was last season. Obviously, he's put in work. He's had a whole off season at home. He came back, a race of 20 point, Device, Beto, how state. But the road numbers last year with archmaning as the starting quarterback, weren't fantastic. So, to answer your question, is archmaning a good quarterback?

4:02I think he is a good quarterback. Now, I have never thought archmaning is number one overall hype. Heisman Trophy hype. I think that's the name that is carrying that weight. But is archmaning a good quarterback? Yes he is. And he's going to be better this year with the weapons around him. Hello. Riley Haltum back in the Budweiser studios. What's your grab a seat? Why don't you grab you some nachos? Answer the question. Is archmaning a good quarterback? Yes or no? Arch is a good quarterback. Good. Not great, not elite. Actually, maybe he's great, but he's not elite yet. And that is the conversation he frequently gets thrown around in. There's a lot of people that kind of expected a step up from archmaning over the off season and expected him to kind of come into the season as one of those elite quarterbacks in the league. He has not been that quiet yet. He hasn't shown that quiet yet. Had a gutsy performance against Ohio State and I'll give him that. And that kind of performance is one of those that puts you in that direction of being elite.

5:06But I'm not going to give you that tag. I'm not going to give you that title off of one performance that lives up to that when you've been middling and a lot of these other SEC and road matchups and you've really only played like a quote unquote elite quarterback when you are balling out against you know, you a limb or whoever else. That's where I have my. That's where I have to let's let's press on the brakes a little bit here on archmaning. Let's let him be elite before we start calling him elite. Right. It's archmaning a good quarterback. Yes, he's a good quarterback. Is he a great quarterback? Not yet. Is he a elite quarterback? I got to see him reach that level before I even consider giving him any bonus points or perks that come with checking out that credit card. You know, for every credit card lay somebody the other day just reached out to me and they're like Mr. Evans, you do great with your American Express gold. We'd like to upgrade you to American Express Platinum.

6:07Well, well, hang on, hang on. Before I consider taking on the American Express Platinum card, I need to know with this annual a fee of, whoa, almost a thousand dollars, is the juice worth the squeeze. I think right now in credit card terms, archmaning, he's an American Express gold. I think he can get you through a game as long as you have other variables that are involved. Like for example, I, this is going to sound crazy. What I'm about to say, but I think a lot of people out there, smart people are going to know what I'm saying. Here it came with Stetson Bennett, a good quarterback or with Stetson Bennett surrounded around 10 other guys on one side of the football that made him go, whoo, propped up. I think Stetson Bennett was a good quarterback. I think the cast of characters around him and the offensive line made him seem like an elite quarterback. The Stetson Bennett become a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2022 without hidden hookers injury. Yeah. Without the cast that he had around him and asked the answers, no, that we should have

7:09rephrased it like he should not have even been with, with the cast of characters, with playing on the Georgia Bulldogs, he still should not have been in New York. It's ridiculous. It's my comparisons to Stetson Bennett and archmaning at this moment, just that comparable. I think I think Arches God's, I think the ceiling is exponentially higher. Oh, absolutely. Stetson Bennett. But where he is in his career right now, is it fair for me to say where Stetson Bennett was and where he ended up, that's where archmaning is right now and they're just following a similar map to get to the final destination. I think that's a pretty decent comp. Okay. Decent, I'll take it. I would need to go back and look at the numbers and all that. Stetson been away to this turn, obviously, and he was surrounded by a good team. In fact, Stetson Bennett's numbers might be better. I need to go back and check. Actually, you know what? Stetson Bennett's numbers were better. Okay. Yeah. I mean, it sounds like it'd be better. So, again, I'm not trying to sit here and I don't want the A-Tog with the show and I know that's not what we're doing to be like, Arches bad, Tennessee is going to kill them. No, like, Arches is a good quarterback. This is Texas week. We're looking at Texas as a whole.

8:09But we're looking at the carburetor. We're looking at the engine. We're looking at the car guy Tyler Riven. I'm looking at all this stuff. So guess what? We're right now talking about the driver of Texas' offense. I think it's fair to say right now. Hey, hey, Tyler Riven's rally hall to reminder listeners, who did I have winning the Heismatrophy last year? Archmanning. Yeah, I did. I also had Texas going on to win the national championship. I just still... So, hey, I got to be careful here. Four years later, him as a senior now, I still think it's... Oh, it's Archmanning. Oh, it's a Manning. Oh, you know, the Saints are going to tank for him or the dolphins are going to tank for him. I don't think he's that level of a lead. Is he a good quarterback? Yes, he is. But look at the numbers. We're going to dive into it over the course of the show. And then this is really unfair, but you know, it's our show. We can do it with a lot of... Play us a little bit more. Compare Archmanning's numbers this year. Remember, he played Ohio State and Beto. I was... Compare those numbers to face on brand of this year. The numbers are very similar. Again, different playing fields it feels like, but the numbers are very similar.

14:52He's not up to all the hype. But with his surrounding cast, he's well-passed. Good enough to make up to beat us. You guys are making some great points in the text line of 656-99900. No matter how good Arches, he can be average and be very effective with his receivers, with his offensive line and with his run game. The point for Tennessee is you have to make him uncomfortable. You have to put him in positions where he's going to make the wrong decisions. I'd say what man? UTSA hit him hard last week. He was not, was he UTSA or UTSA? One of the things. Who texted his plate? San Antonio Road Road. So he was not the same after that hit. His numbers were, Riley go hot, you beat me to it. Keep going. I was going to say his numbers were very pedestrian last week against the team. They beat the crap out of. So again, it is what it is. Riley, he was not the same guy after that hit in the, what was it?

15:53The second, early third quarter, when he got the lick and you could look at him and just go, no, no, that was late second because of the entire second half. He was kind of, he went plant and step up the pocket. And his, in his defense, boy, that was a hit. How much thought? Yeah, I mean, that was a football hit. Riley Haltum, he got a little nervous because he finally got a big boy SEC hit and that guy was a little gunshot for the last 30 minutes. Yeah, the statistics specifically, before that hit, 11 of 16, 116 yards, two touchdowns through the air after that hit six of 17 passing for 48 yards, no touchdowns. Yeah, I wonder what the common team is there. Also, again, I watched the condensed version of that game on YouTube. Like, why are they throwing it so much? I mean, they were, they were leaving the entire game. Again, you work on what you want to work on in those games. I understand that, but I still don't understand why they were throwing it all that much. Archman, without looking, where does Archmaning currently rank right now in the Heismans and in Heismanod? I would say probably third or fourth, third. Riley, where does Archmaning rank in Heismanod?

16:55What, currently? Currently. Oh, Arch is, Arch is probably third right now. He's third. CJ Carson, front of him. Nope. Why don't Taylor set things up? Nope. Oh, did Dairy Mensa. Turn it ad-champalist, he's your odds on favorite. Three to one, three and a half to one. Dairy and Mensa, Archman, he's 10 to one. Real quick, real quick. Jeremiah Smith, Jeremiah Smith has worse odds than Archmaning. Kamario Taylor, CJ Carr, Malachi Tony, all with worse odds than what they have right now, than what Archmaning has right now. Again, this is the public. They're the one who swayed this, but at the same time, there's nothing I've seen thus far this year. And this is a guy, me, hello, Tyler Reivans, who had Archmaning it last year, that leads me to believe that he has, that he has at the moment given me the third best performance to be able to win the Heisman.

17:55Again, this is based on public money. I get it. Sometimes the public is at smart. I'm missing something here and I want to go back and see how it kind of like we have a clear two front runners. All right, I get it. Not to make turn it into that wing wing nudge nudge segment, but sometimes because of odds, sometimes because of what the big four letter network shows you, but because of the Twitters and the Instagrams and the videos in the background. Wap, wap, Archmaning. Archmaning must be awesome. No, you just went to TexasHipedVideo.com on IG. We, I know we got to get the Dr. Punch here just a second, but real quick, currently right now. And again, Texas, a race of 20 point deficit, and Bito, Ohio State. That means something. That absolute, I mean, they have, Texas is more tested than Tennessee. There's no disputing that. Archmaning currently in the SEC, three, three weeks, three weeks and three weeks, Duke Cup picks as well. 13th in the SEC, completes a percentage at 61.5. Last year, Archmaning on the road, five true road games. He completed 57% of his passes, seven touchdowns, five picks.

18:57And according to that grading, a 121. He had 63 rushing yards on 51 attempts. He got sack to tone on the road last year. They've improved their offensive line. One rushing touchdown against two ranked opponents on the road. Now again, this was Ohio State last year and Georgia last year. So the best of the best, he completed 60% of his passes, two interceptions, two touchdowns and 400 yards. So I mean, really those numbers are actually kind of better than the overall road picture. I mean, he got beat up at Florida last year. He did not look good at Kentucky. Yeah, Kentucky, that's another one. Okay, wait a second. Last year, Archmaning went on the road five times. I got lost. Lost at Ohio State. Lost at Georgia, lost at Florida. He had to go to overtime to win both of those road games in Lexington. And then it's Starkville, Mississippi, where they fell short against the earth. Excuse me, I should say they barely passed the Bulldogs. Yep, Georgia, Michigan State, Kentucky, Florida, Ohio State played Oklahoma on a neutral side. He was really, really good in that game. And then of course, he was, he was, he was pretty decent in the ballgame against Michigan as well.

19:58So we'll continue to dive in the numbers. It's a, it's a good question because again, you hear Archmaning just like we have dating back to his high school days, you think, oh my gosh, number one overall pick and elite Heisman and the numbers no back that up. Good quarterback, not elite quarterback, but as the texture pointed out, how about Tennessee not make him a lead this week? We have a new points leader and Chase also Joey Ligano is going to emerge from a wild finish after a wild night at Bristol. As we take a peek back at what happened at Bristol Motor Speedway this past weekend. By the way, we continue from here in Alcoa left at the split at the airport. We are here at Collectibles and more. It was Riley, Halton, in my ear, letting me know, hey, Dr. Jerry Punch is ready to go on the Stanley Finson and Gates hotline. Yes, he is, Riley, Halton. Because the doc joins us thanks to our friends over at New Balance Knoxville. What happening in the suburban shopping center in West Knoxville? Doc Tyler and Cainer. All right, let's set the scene. Joey Logano, he steals a victory. He's celebrated on the front stretch. And then don't look now because Team Pinsky's got to be excited about picking up a checkered flag. But then you turn and you look and then all of a sudden Ryan Blaney's throwing hooks with hosts of our in Pit Row. There was a whole lot of Team Pinsky. Some good, some bad.

22:00You try to want to smooth this out for us. Kind of give us a little bit of intel on how you see this playing out and what it means for Team Pinsky, the good and bad. Yeah, absolutely. Hello, everybody. Great to be on with you. Yeah, exactly. Well, you know, it was, as Joey Logano said, Mary Christmas to me because he got a Christmas gift. He was running at the top five and that's about where he was going to be. And then they started mixing it up up front, a little pushing and shoving. And then suddenly he's able to get by on a restart and hold on for the final few laps and he gets to win. So Joey Logano celebrating a Pinsky victory. And then of all people, Ryan Blaney, who's the most mild mannered and easygoing individual and nice, that day Blaney was a wild man. He would get in your face, you know, in a sprint car and a heartbeat and his family. But Ryan has been one of the nicest, most laid back, easygoing, but when the race was over, Carson Hosevar, who had bumped him from behind during the race and then continued on in the throttle and it looked like he pushed him on around and spun him.

23:02Now, bumping from behind is nothing new at Bristol. I mean, the bump and runs been around since Jeff Gordon and Rusty Wallace decided to do that to each other back and forth for years in the 90s. And rattling people's cages, the Elrondhart did that with Terry LeBonney. But in this situation, yeah, did Ryan Blaney block him? Sure, Ryan Blaney, he admitted yesterday on a couple of shows that he did per NASCAR that I didn't move down the block and Hosevar hit him in the back. But then Hosevar could have let off the throttle a little bit, not stop, but let off and not go ahead and just spin Blaney around. Blaney was angry. He comes out, charges Hosevar. Hosevar is about a foot and a half taller than Blaney with a reach about twice the size. A length that he pops Blaney twice with a right hand upside the head and then Blaney charges him back at Hosevar again and he hits him. So Roger Penske is not about that very much. He doesn't like that.

24:02That's not good for him. He does not good for sportsmanship, not good for sponsors. But I think that in the fans were going nuts. But for someone who's done Bristol, it brusted up for 30 years. To me, it was like the typical end of a race because someone's mad at someone else or groups of people are mad at someone else and they're going to get after it and they're going to settle it on pit road. Don't go back and form out somebody else. So back then there wasn't social media. You go back and tell a writer, I wish I had a chance to get to him. Well, he had guess what you do. So go get there. And you guys settle it. And NASCAR, yesterday NASCAR decided they weren't going to do anything. And I think that's a good move on their part because, you know, we had a period of NAS car when we were overpolicing the sport. Now, you can't let guys know after others. You can't let crew members have a brawl and the crews did not get involved. Thankfully, neither crew got involved because those crew guys are massive. They're big weightlifters who can pick up cars that they had to on pit road without

25:05a jack. So you don't want to get those guys involved. And no one took their car and went after somebody on pit road, which is very dangerous. These guys got face to face and had a disagreement, agreed to disagree. So NASCAR says, you know what? We're not going to find anybody. We're not going to suspend anybody because in reality, what happens with these things is in the old days, the driver said, let us let us, meaning the drivers, settle it among us in the garage area, which is what they'll do. And I'm sure there's several of them and have a plan. A number of them that have already gotten a little bit annoyed with cars and horse and horse and horse and horse and horse and horse are great drivers. It's a tremendous talent, a tremendous ability. He's not the first guy to come along and ask for it. I want to push people out of the way or bump and run. But I think there comes a time where maybe he needs to calm down just a scotch. But the drivers, some will talk to him. Some will talk to him with their bumper, some will talk to him with their, in the garage here and pull them aside. We'll see what he listens to.

26:05Eventually, he'll have to, he will listen. And in the meantime, the fans are going nuts. The ratings are going to be real rough. As we saw when Dale Earnhardt's fun Terry the Bonnie years ago at the end of Bristol, the next weekend was Darlington. After that race and Darlington still had a few tickets to sail, they were all gone by like 7am on Monday morning because everybody wanted to see. So if you're an ask car, you're not hating that at all. You realize that the sport and you can comment about it. But the sport, if you looked at that crowd, it looked like NASCAR is back or own its way back. And there's a lot of reasons for that. That's going to say, teams might not like it. NASCAR might not like it. Sponsors might not like it, but your consumer likes it. Might do something for ratings. That's awesome. Who don't want to see two guys to grow and mend duke it out after hard fought race? You brought up the crowd docking. Bristol, night race, electric.

27:06It felt like they were down by at the clock a little bit. Can you speak on the crowd and the atmosphere? I mean, that's got to be a great, just great for NASCAR. Well, I mean, and consider the fact that it's up against a college, huge night on college football on a Saturday night. All the major game Tennessee's playing at home, LSU Ole Miss. There's so many big time games in college football. Yet, like in the old days, I was talking to someone at Bristol. On Wednesday, the campgrounds were filling up. That's how you know in advance. If the campgrounds start filling up with people on Wednesday, you're thinking, whoa, wait a minute, these people are coming back. They wanted to be there and it was a huge crowd, great crowd on how it wasn't sold out. I don't think, but it was close to it. I think there's a lot of reasons for that. One is, NASCAR has worked on the next gen car, the Gen 7 car. It's drivable now. I don't mean just drivable. It's racable. It Bristol, they're able to pass on the top and the bottom, which is sort of like the old days. That is good as the old days, but better than it's been. The tires have some give up so that the cars begin to slip inside.

28:06The NASCAR said yesterday we stay had more give up and no work on that. They changed the horsepower rules. They changed the spolar rules to make the cars make it easier for the cars to pass each other. But two big things. I think number one is the chase. The chase rules change so there's nobody eliminated. You look at someone like Joey Lagana who a month and a half ago couldn't even sniff the playoffs. Right now he's sitting third in the point standing. That's big because your driver hasn't been eliminated. Your driver's still in it. The chase rule change was big, but also I think the biggest thing is what we just talked about a moment ago. Rivalries. Everybody likes a guy that nobody wants to pull for. Everyone thought Dale Earnhardt was either love Dale Earnhardt or you hated him. Rivalries. A guy who's the under, you know, who wears the black hat. And right now Carson Hosevar has run a foul of about six or seven drivers in the garage area, many of which probably are waiting their turn to have break failure when he's in

29:07front of him. Lane Kiffin reaps what he so's in Oxford. Had Takie goes to Texas A&M, don't look now. Florida's favorite against Ole Miss. And Arch Manning has got his uncle cheering against his alma mater. It's just another Saturday in the SEC. Well, I mean, it was hard to take, quite honestly. Hard to watch, hard to take. Without that quarterback, without him who made great plays with his arms and legs, they wouldn't have been in position to win. And he goes in the end zone, fumbles of all. As the final seconds click off, Vanderbilt falls on it and they get the win. As you right went, Vanderbilt, they didn't get the win, but they won.

31:13The NC State gave it away. If you're a Dave Doren, if you're Dave Doren, you would expect that your quarterback who was one of the top 15 in the country would know enough to turn around. And I don't know. I haven't privilege of what was said, but turn around and just we're not the back of the end zone. Right. But the young man's trying. Yeah, it's four seconds on the clock. I said it's terrible for NC State. NC State played their tail off to go beat an SEC school on their home field. And they deserve to win, but they didn't win because they made a mistake on the final play of the game. The kid is a young quarterback is a great talent, but he still has some growing to do. And the coaches, I'm sure, have to accept a lot of responsibility because you would think that someone would say, just run out the back of the end zone. You don't have to be a hero here. Even the club doesn't run out.

Because it's a little bit of everything for a little bit of everyone, depending on who's standing in line at the kitchen table. Am I wrong or am I wrong? No, that's an incredible summary of what we saw. Mississippi State, great quarterback and until that kid proves that he's going to make mistakes and the moments too big for him, I think they're going to be hard to handle.

34:18just going to dominate. They probably are more talented, man to man, but they didn't dominate and Ole Miss wanted it more. That game have been played in Baton Rouge, I got to believe it might have gone the other way, but Ole Miss wanted it, their fans wanted it, and they were waiting and ready. So, hey, you know what, and here's the thing, LSU plays Texas stadium, one of those schools is going to be O&2 in the conference after this weekend, holding cow, I mean get that. And BAMM up, well, they didn't start great, they were behind the Florida State, but then it, in typical BAMM fashion, they, they, they, someone rang the bell and they started playing and then they, they boat raised them later in, in the day. So, you know, it's wild in the SEC, it's crazy, holy, and by the way Michigan, I think Michigan was barely ahead of Texas, you tap or whatever, you know, or that game and everyone's thinking what's going on at Michigan, and now you see how Michigan beat an Oklahoma team that's anemic on offense, you wonder, well, Michigan can't be very good. Well, last, the, the last times game they have been here, Tennessee's 1-3 out of 4, they beat Florida twice, they beat Alabama, and they should have beaten Georgia the last time they were here, being kick a field goal. So, you know, the numbers say the, the emotion, look at what happened in Ole Miss, you know, the fans, the emotion, they want it, Texas is good, and Arches is really good. I think they're going to line up and run the ball. I think Tennessee's going to have to stop the run, he wants to run in quarterback at Tennessee State, be able to run down the field and get first down, you can't let that happen against Texas, or you'll be off at your defense, or never get off the field.
