Stafford County, Virginia, 1990. A property owner clearing brush found a human skull under a fence line beside a country road. No other bones. No cause of death. No name. It took thirty one years, a genealogy lab in Texas, and DNA from a father and a brother before anyone could say who he was. The road he was found beside is called Joshua Road. Shane went looking for cases that landed on Josh's birthday, and that is what he came back with.

Kim and Shane set this one up as a surprise. Cupcakes, a handmade ring from a Florida artisan, a card printed on plantable wildflower seed paper, and nine recorded birthday messages from listeners who have talked with us for years without ever hearing each other's voices. Then Shane runs the bit he ran for Kim in episode 180: two real cases that share the date. An ocean apart, on the same day in 1990, a man in England vanished out of a parked car and a skull turned up in a Virginia field.

Timeline of Events

September 28, 1990: Andrew Bedford, 27, of Huntingdon, is last seen early that evening eating takeaway in a light blue Ford Cortina on Factory Bank in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire. His girlfriend expected him home by six. September 28, 1990: The same day, in Stafford County, Virginia, a property owner working a field finds a human skull under a fence line beside Joshua Road. No other remains are ever recovered. September 30, 1990: Cambridgeshire police arrest three people on suspicion of Andrew's murder. None are charged. 1990: The Smithsonian examines the Virginia skull and reports a white male, fifteen to eighteen, dead one to three years before he was found. Cause and manner of death are left undetermined. 1992: Police drain a pond on Field Road in Ramsey after information that Andrew was shot. April 10, 2015: Cambridgeshire relaunches the case as Operation Ongar and treats it as murder, naming a since demolished garage, Mongrel Cars, as the likely scene. June 2015: Pieces of bone believed to be human are recovered off Stocking Fen Road in a thirteen day search. Andrew has still never been found. 2020: Police say the leads are exhausted. Eight people were arrested over thirty years. Nobody was charged, and the prime suspect is dead. February 18, 2022: Stafford County identifies the skull as Timothy Alan Mangum, last confirmed alive between 1983 and 1984, after a Texas laboratory traced a father and a brother. How he died has never been answered.

What You Will Hear

Nine listener birthday messages, including one from Coventry and two men who hid a happy birthday inside a riddle about tracks, waters and a barn. The gifts: a chakra bracelet, a handmade wrap ring, and a card on seed paper you can plant in the spring. How a man eating takeaway in his own parked car leaves no trace at all. The skull on Joshua Road, the reconstructed face, and the DNA work that gave him his name back. What Josh makes of a road carrying his own name.

Yeah. I don't know that I ever had a Shirley temple. What's a Shirley's favorite dream? I don't know that I have either. Usually sprite, granadine and a cherry. You get it like greener day. I don't know. You should use that off like that. I just say sweet red syrup. I'm not sure if it's made from rice card. So greener day. Might be pomegranate. It's a common thing when you go to like a bar if you don't drink like a water. Shirley temple. Oh, their virgin's huh? Is it has a sweet and tart flavor with a predominant taste of pomegranate? So it's like a, I don't really taste pomegranate in it, but it's just like a sweet. It's really good. You would like it. I don't even know if I ever had a pomegranate. Not worth the work and they make your breath smell real bad. Like they're good, but they come in little, each little seed is like the size of a strawberry

seed and it's wrapped in like a little fruit, but they're full of them. So you eat the little seeds and just each bite is just very seed heavy. I ain't about that texture. I don't care for seeds. Oh, no, no. And yeah, they make your breath smell bad the next day. We had an old a meeting in Fort Wayne and we were at electric works. Yeah, that's the coolest place. It was. It used to be an old like electric factory for GE. Is that that place with the slide? No, you're talking about sweet water. Okay. Yeah, this was an old old, sweet water has a slide. Yeah, in the cafeteria. This was an old factory and they turned it into, there's office like businesses that are based there. That's cool. Yeah. And then there's a co-working space. So that's where our meeting room was. Awesome. Yeah, they have a little cafeteria. Although I thought it was weird because so they have these trash cans and they have, it's

a double one. So like the left side was for recycling and the right side for trash. Yeah. And the left side said recycling, but the weird part was the right side said litter. And I was like, I'm not littering. I've never heard of someone like, I guess I've never seen it say litter. My thought went to kitty litter. I was like, they got a lot of this for their cat litter. God. No, I was like, why would that say litter? I feel like it's been so long since I've heard someone say litter. Yeah. I've seen it say landfill. But litter, like in my mind, litter is if you're doing something you shouldn't be doing. You're doing trash on the ground. Not the window, yeah. But it said litter and it just caught me off guard and I'm like, am I throwing this in the right bin? I feel like someone's watching me and judging me and I'm going to show up on a television. Hannah should just put it on the ground next to you. Right. Well, now I'm not going to litter, but this is trash.

I did see the coffee shop there that they didn't have a lavender. Did you see that? No. I saw it. I thought of Josh and then I see it. Josh, and I almost, like as I read it, I almost said it aloud and I would have actually ordered it. Like, you know how that is? Like, you just like have that in your mind. You say it and I almost did it and I'm like, no, pumpkin not day, please. Peace. Pumpkin. You're ridiculous. But we had a good time. It was good. It was. Although it's huge. It's a big place. There's no maps. We get there and we only know the name of the room. No signage. No signage. Like this is a huge factory, like two buildings. Like, can I get an app? Right. Multiple stories. No signage. Yeah. So I just waited in there and I just sent a text to the person we were meeting and I'm like, we're going to be in this area. Come find us. Come find us. And she did. Help. And it happened to be that we had to go like pass this sign that said, like employees only

or something. So I wouldn't have gone. No, I'm like, okay, well, this is where we live now. Yeah. We live in this center area. I'm by the front door. And there was like this area in the center where it looked like it could have been a little coffee shop. Like, you know, you go up in like a little Starbucks. I thought that's what it was. I'm guessing it's like a help desk. But the guy that was there when we got there, it looked like he was working on the computer and I was like, oh, maybe it's like a co-working area. So I didn't ask him for directions. But the person who met us there, she asked him for directions and he told her how to wait for Kim. Kim went to go to the bathroom and I swear she was gone for 30 minutes. Almost just left her stuff and let her fin for herself. It was not that long. It was 20 every bit of 25 minutes. It was. I said, you attacked. No, I'm like, are you dead in the back? I said, yes. I know. And I wasn't worried. Yes. Come find me. Make me in a good episode. Please, at least get something out of it. Send me an audio or something.

Yeah. What are you eating, Josh? Chicken sliders from Arby's. I do like a good slider. I don't know if I've ever had a chicken. Yeah. The new slider. Well, I didn't know they had chicken wins. I knew they had ham wins and roast beef ones. Yeah. I think I have a jalapeno one that's good too. I like the jalapeno. Chicken is my favorite. There's a new slider place in Muncie that just opened. Ooh, I love slide. It's across from Roadhouse where that flower shop used to be. Next to the gas station. They tore that down, that old flower shop, because those people retired. And tore down and they built this slider place. And it hasn't been opened very long, but there is always a line clear down McAlley. There are always is that any new restaurant waiting for that. And I'm like, I'll wait for a couple months. That'll be out of business.

That's so true. There's so much food there. Yeah. Anytime I hear someone going to Muncie, I'm always like, oh, no, there's a lot to feed there. Whatever you need. You know, Muncie's in trivial pursuit, right? Trifial pursuit? The game. No. Yeah. Muncie is the number one city with the most restaurants. I'm like, per capita. Oh, that's funny. I've never seen anything before. I didn't know what I had till I moved here. And then now when I'm looking for something for dinner, I'm like, oh, again. Yeah, there's not quite as much here as what there is in Muncie. No, that's not true. And it closes so early. I know. Do you remember when Walmart was 24 hours? Yeah. I've not even seen one, like even in a big city. No, they don't stay up anymore. They just re-change their whole world. Yeah. I like it. I feel like they were waiting for something to like give them a reason. Yeah. Well, the wall green that was by the hospital in Muncie, it was always 24 hours.

It's not. It's not. So there's nothing 24 hours, even in Muncie. Mine was. That is true. I remember you could go to my room. I was going to go there at 3 a.m. and I couldn't sleep. I used to go to Walmart. That's when I used to go grocery shopping was in the middle of the night. I was, I couldn't sleep. So I'm like, no, grocery shop. No one there. Perfect. They didn't bother you. Nobody bothered about you. I liked it. I'd go down to most every aisle. I know. There was no one there bother you. Nobody in my way, walking a mile. No. And if there were people, they would have talked about. And the last lot was a friend. It's a whole list of the guy with the big Muppet machine. No, you have to watch out for the robots. Oh, my God. Or the people who are shopping for people. I always get out of their way. I'm like, you're on the clock. Did you see when we were in Vegas, that little robot? That little robot? Yeah, it like drive. No, no, no, it wasn't a delivery one. It drives around the casino and sweeps. It was like a taxi.

Oh, oh. It was sweeping. Yeah. No, that one I didn't see. I seen the one that was like a taxi. I didn't see the taxi. It was like four person. Yeah, we talked about it. Oh, yeah, you're talking about a car. This was in the casino, casino. Because you have all this crowds of people and like you're even in an hour and like almost ran over it. Like tripped over it. It was a big, big machine. I didn't even notice it. But I really wasn't. But I really wasn't in the casino very much. Just to go through it to go to the food court. Right. I didn't, I mean, I didn't gamble. I'm not a gamble. I'm not a sinner. No. I'm not going to do that. I guess the so wasted on us. We don't drink. I don't. I'm not going to a bar. I'm not going to a script. Maybe a show. Yeah, we went to a show. We went to men, a pause, men, a pause, the music. And it does actresses. You saw the wizard of all. Yeah. Yeah. At the spare. The third, although we almost never made it.

This is the walkways on the street. You almost getting hit. It was not fun. We had some bad news last week. I know. I'm sorry to hear about that. Yeah, my brother and I passed away. But I did have a good joke the day that we learned. Is it that the day of? It was the day of. It was the day of. Kim and I were so sad. Oh, I bald all day long. I know that was a good one. Josh and you think you get away with Kim. But we were so sad. And Kim and I have a morbid sense of humor. And we like a good humor. And Rodney, our friend would have loved it. Oh, yeah. He was my brother-in-law. He was your friend, but he was my brother-in-law. Sometimes friends are better than family. But anyway, I say that and I have my friend here and my family. I'm getting the night. I texted him and I was like, you know, Kim, you know how Rodney was a jogger. He loved to go on runs. And I was like, just on him, you outlived him. I would be so mad. Being a health nut and then into getting to know by cancer. I've always been afraid of starting a new diet and being so hungry and eating rice cakes

and the new diet. It was always a little bit of a bitch because only the good die young. Oh, it would be that good. Yeah, it would be that good. He definitely went down so fast. We found out in April that he was stage four of lung cancer and then he passed away last week. It was so quick. But you know the bull cramp that I just can't quit thinking about is like he had gone to the doctor. I think it was the last year because he's having like breathing issues. And it is beyond me of how they didn't find it. Like normally I have a breathing, I get a lung scan. Like they'll scan my lung or they'll do whatever. But what they did, they did surgery. On his sinuses. Yeah, you know how they'll go in and like draw out your sinuses? I don't know. We're in a rea. Yeah, that's what they did. So the last time I saw him, it was like a photos thing and he was having problems breathing and he's like, yeah, they did that thing. You know, and that's what he thought was the cause of it. I just can't for fathom that they would just skip to nasal problems in surgery.

Probably not an insurance thing. Like procedures cheaper. Do that one. Right. It's definitely aggravating because I mean, he might not have been that bad if they'd have found it in an earlier stage. Yeah, done. On the other stage last year because that was, you know, last year that he was started having problems. Yeah. So it just beyond me that they wouldn't at least like, oh, you know, breathing lungs could be. No, let's cut him out and reuter, or sinuses. Right. Get it? He was always there for Emily. He always came, you know, anything that we invited him to. He'd always say, do you want me to bring my camera? And I'm like, a year. Why do you think I'm inviting you? There's a nice camera too. There's no reason for you to even come if you don't bring the camera. You're the help. All right. What's that, Josh? I got a roast beef one too. That was chicken as well. You didn't get the roast beef jalapeno? No, not this late.

I believe that it gets a little spicy. Joshua? What? Did you not go to the mailbox this morning? I did. Afterwork because I got called into work early. We had like 11 trucks come at once, about 10, 15. So not like too early, but they were all in Espenio. And the ladies I work with, I tried to, you know, get them to install an app on their phone. That's exciting. Yeah. So it's just easier if I just just go any day. Just go any day. One more. One more. From the other Vesaki. No. Oh, we got his tent up here. That's it. I left a little yellow card. Uh-oh. Because I was like, if I take it, we'll lose it. Somebody else will have to go get it. Yeah, that's funny. It's up already for them. I thought you were needed for two years. I thought I did too. But it might have been two years. I mean, I don't know. Time for all of that. It's not been two years. Who knows?

I'll have to ask them where they go back. Yeah, check on that because I'm pretty sure the last time we done that, I was two years ago with it. Yeah, they changed the lock. Change in the freaking lock. Yeah, I don't think so. I still have two extra sets of keys for the old locks. Because they, they were like, yeah, we can't take them back. Make a wish. We'll make sure one of you people go in there and get that box before they send it back. You people. You people. What's that supposed to mean? Can you people? You people. Sexist. I know. It's because I'm tall, isn't it? Yeah. That's so rude. Just jealous. Probably. We live in a whole other world. All the way up here. It really is. Like when I'll crouch down to Brittany's height when I'm with her. I'm like, wow, you really don't see a lot. Oh, I know. I always forget how short she is too. Until I'm like, I see her and I'm like, oh, you're just a little person. Well, just the things that block your vision when at that height, I'm like, wow, I see

over a lot of things. Why do I open spaces? If I go to the, if I go to a basketball game or a football game or whatever, I cannot sit in like the first or second row because the bar of. I'll be. Yeah. Yeah. It's right in my view. I always forget that normal sized people cannot see over the aisles at grocery stores. Well, not like Walmart. No, not normally Walmart, but like croaker because all like they'll be people who are in the aisle and they'll be like, where are the, I don't know, pancake mix and I'll be like two aisles over. Oh, yeah, the signs. Oh, that's nice. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, over there. And then I always going to ask to pick stuff off the top shelves. I really, I try so hard not to do that because I know people get tired of people. You're talk. Can you grab that for me? You know, and I try really hard. So the other day, I wanted something and it was real high and I'm sitting here going.

What can I throw? It was a picture. I was this picture. And I'm like a picture or a picture. A picture. I thought I was going to just like, I thought she was being. No, that is a picture. That's not a picture. Okay. A picture because that might sister, one of my sisters calls him a picture and I said, no, that's something that you pour from. Yeah. Something that you take. Anyway, it was a picture and it was like the, it was way too high for me. And I'm looking around going, I don't see nobody. Oh, look, there's a mop. I took that mop and stick it right underneath the handle and, rooop. Yep. No, the big three, if you want to avoid helping people on the, get something from the top shelf, the pet food aisle, the laundry detergent aisle and the water aisle slash soda aisle because there's always going to be a pack of water all the way at the back.

And some of the ladies sitting there and I'm like, and you reach behind her and grab it for yourself and walk away. As long as they're not rude, my lord, I had a really whatever, Tism moment, the other day I was telling Shane, because you text me if I wanted to see practical magic, but you're almost bought ticket for Sunday, the matinee. But I didn't, I was like, no, because it didn't show that there were a lot of people. I was like, I'll just buy them up there. Then I'll, while I was waiting, because I think it was that three maybe. You don't remember. I was going to decorate for fall. All I went to do was clear off the coffee table and wipe it with a chlorox wipe. And there was a stain on it. It was white table. So I got the sander out. And I was like, I'll just, you know, get that out real quick. I made worse. So then I ended up sanding the whole top of the table, which made it even worse and a horrible looking that now I painted it with black chalk paint and distressed it.

So no, it looks great. Yes. Well, it turned into a simple, I'm going to wipe that off with a chlorox wipe for several hours. But not only did my brother and I'll pass away last week, I was so sick all last year. Yeah, you take this horrible. It was still kind of a stomach bug. And I was going down my sister text me and told me that he was close to passing, you know, so I was going to run down and see him on Saturday. I got to Newcastle ended up, man, I just, I didn't feel good. But I was going to try to do it because I knew it would be the last time I got to see him. And should your pants. So no, I got to Newcastle it. And I'm like, well, maybe I just need to eat something and I ate something. I'm like, yeah, no, that's, that's not definitely not going to help. Hardies. So I decided, yeah, I got a hot ham and cheese sandwich. I do too, but not anymore because it didn't stay down. I'm like, I'm going home, I turned around and went home and I no longer got in my house until I was running the bathroom.

Yeah, it took me forever to get over it. It was horrible. You said Emily got it too, didn't you? Yeah, Emily had it too. We think the baby, well, we think the baby, no, we think the baby got it because there's some kind of a virus or a bug that's going around. I know, blame the innocent little child. I can't be here to defend itself. We had gone the day before to take the baby to the new port aquarium down and. So you probably had it there, but just not those kids and sneezed and. Yeah, it would. I was already not feeling great when we went about halfway down there. I'm like, man, I'm starting really starting not to feel too good. Kim, was there something else which remind you of? I don't know. To cough. I see. Yeah. Oh, nice. Oh, that's so nice. That looks very nice. Oh, that is cute. You should have did it before and after photo. I know, but I have two end tables in a behind the couch table that matched the old coffee tables.

So now I got to redo those. So I'll do before and after this. The struggle. Well, I thought that today. Oh, God. What? I just went. I hear you say I thought I panic a little. I never, you never know. I know you grab a pamphlet. I got a book. A book. A book. I got a book. I got a booklet. Well, I thought he should have maybe he should get that out. Kim, not not here. We're going to be on video. Didn't you get it out? Didn't you put things in that closet over there? I didn't. You didn't put anything in there? No. Did you? No. I'm like being real serious. I thought you were supposed to break something with you. What was I supposed to bring? This is why I grew up as the planner in the family.

Look, she's going to ask me that because she knows dang well that I give people gifts that I forgot about. The next show. The months afterwards. Yeah. So don't be coding. That was my Chris. Spend it out. Kim, what did I forget to do? I thought you brought something down and put it in that. In the closet? No, I didn't bring anything down. You got you beat me down here. I told you to bring something down. We're celebrating your birthday today, Josh. I know what the hell she's talking about, but I did not put it in that dang closet. What did you do with it? They're broke here. Oh. For some reason, I thought you put it over there. We're acting like he didn't know we were going to celebrate his birthday because if we didn't celebrate his birthday, we wouldn't hear then. No, I wouldn't know. I celebrate best yours. Like last year. I knew you were going to bring that. Oh, I was 13 and everyone forgot. No, that's not. Well, everyone forgot. We didn't forget. We didn't forget. We were going to do it last week, but then Josh canceled on us because his butt was leaking or something out now.

I worked 12 hours. Yeah, he worked 12 hours in the course and then Rodney also passed away. So he really didn't feel like we didn't feel like he had funny. So the first cupcakes I found. I just bought because I thought you'd like them, Josh. I'd like them. They're a strawberry short cake. They're the best cupcakes. They were the best. And they were in the fridge, Raider section. And I was like, oh my gosh, those look delicious. Yeah, those are my favorite. And then I was afraid that Josh may not like those. So then the other ones that I knew that I'd like. I'm the same way. Is vanilla cupcakes with whipped icing? I think it was like some whipped icing. This podcast is sponsored by Talkspace. Last year, I went through many different life changes. I'm reading a book right now where one of the main characters. But I have a peanut allergy. Grab the fork. Sounds like a thriller, Kim. You want to open this one up, Kim? She is. Thanks a lot. I just can't ever. I can't see a universe and where I would read a book that has anything where a character has a nut allergy. Is it one of them smut books you're reading? Maybe. Oh, yeah. Eat a peanut and your throat gets a tiger. That's what did they start putting this stuff around it? I don't know. I mean, this one doesn't have it around it.

Do you want one or two of these Josh? Two. I love strawberry shortcake. I know I thought you did. I know I thought you did. Those scissors down there, Joshua. Thank you. You want one of those two? Oh, yeah. Got to try. I haven't changed the category of this podcast to a food podcast. I know. That should be our next podcast. We could be food reviewers. Oh my god. You know how good we would be. Oh, we would be so good. We have a unique palette all of us. Some of them are more unique than others. No, no. If it's seafood, I ain't eating it. I'm not putting it in my mouth. I will. I've, you know, certain seafoods all double. Yeah, I've heard that you'd put anything in your mouth once. I'll do a deep fried clam strip, a deep fried catfish, a deep fried cod, deep fried shrimp. Awe, Gator. I only eat shrimp if it's breaded. I can't eat it if I could possibly see the they taped the shell.

They did not want me getting into this. I don't want no peanut, anything near there. It's like at night when you're trying to sneak in the kitchen and get one. Sorry for all the rustling guys. Oh, and while she's doing that, Josh, this will make my shit or go well. I was in Florida. I found you a birthday card and a crystal and a little gift. How do you know it's a crystal? He's a magic. Maybe it's kind of. Oh, what's that? I was like, it's a crystal down the row. And that's how I lost my front tooth. What could it be? Is it weed? Is that legal in Florida? No. I don't think so. I wouldn't think so.

I don't, but you know everyone's doing this right. Who a bracelet. Oh, that's pretty. What a mattress. I like that on the chakra colors. I'm sorry, your birthday. Presenting come in yet. What's his name? Who would have ring? Local artisan. Who do beach artists? I've been looking for a new ring. Oh, and it's handmade. Is it a fork ring? I think so. Yeah, I tell you if I knew. The guy told me all about it. The guy told me all about it. And I don't remember any of it. Oh, and it's a wrap ring. I like the, I hate like a one size ring because my fingers change size depending on, you know, my weight that day. I'm not sure if it's a ring. I'm not sure if it's a ring.

I'm not sure if it's a ring. Everybody's got fit on some days. Everybody's does that. Thank you. I thought that was the prettiest all ring I've ever seen. And I was like, oh my gosh. Oh, now I did get you something. Like I said, it's not in yet. But I'll tell you it is if you want to know. Yeah. And some listeners sent just some stuff to that's probably what in the past. That's what we turn to hope it doesn't go back. We won't hear the end of it. Remember when I asked you about that, I was like, what's your author? Oh, yeah. I found an on Amazon. Oh, awesome. Thank you. Was it Ron Rose, Ron or something like that? Something like that. And then I also got you a cool. What are those things called that you put TN? I have a T-catl. No, not a T-cat. T-catl. No. T-catl. No. The little things that you put the actual TN. I have a strainer. The little TN. I got one that looks like a guitar. Oh, thank you. Oh, cute. I love this card. Read the many more moons. Many more moons. You're going to dig our planable seed paper on Volopsymbedded with a mixture of non-invasive

wildflower seeds. Oh, cool. Awesome. I'll plant those in the spring. Oh, that was so cute. I love shit like that. I know. It's what I thought I'm like, yeah, I'm getting it. Many moons. I love that. Thank you. I love. I love when people say it's been many moons since I've seen you. I love this ring. Oh, all right. Yeah. And we have one other special. Yeah. One other little surprise for you. Let's see if it works. Oh, God. Hey, Josh. This is Savannah. I wanted to say happy birthday. I would sing but I'm not Ellie Burton. Oh, sorry. Was that too early? Anyways. Do you know the cool fact that South Carolina actually grows more pages than Georgia does? And you know that you're a peach. Oh, I'm sorry. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing day. And I hope you have a great week. And I hope that this coming year is the year that you want and the year that you deserve.

I hope you make everything out of it that you want it to be. Being nothing but who you are and what you are, you're an amazing person inside and out. I love you. So many other people love you. I hope you have an amazing birthday and surprise. Have a great one. Please bring Rottenback because I also miss it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I enjoy it quite a bit. But anyway, I'm really now. So happy birthday. Have a good one. Bye. Oh, thank you. Take notes, guys. Hi, Josh. Steve here from Coventry in the UK. Wishing you a very happy, natal day. That's what we call birthdays here. A natal day. You may not know it. You are an interesting person. A natal day. You may not know it. You are an inspiration to all of us.

Best wishes, Steve. I love it. I know. Happy birthday, Josh. I was going to get to you something amazing. But then I remembered you already have the gift of knowing me. You're welcome. Another year older. Another year closer to being seen. Wow. Somehow still making questionable decisions. I hope you have an awesome birthday. Hey, Josh. This is Mary. I wanted to wish you a happy birthday. And I hope the next year is filled with lots of adventures and hot daddies. Me too, girl. Little Botox. Hello to the Queen of the day. This is Tanya, your friendly neighborhood delivery driver. Sorry. Sorry, the other day. Josh. I hope you have a magically delicious day. May all of your dreams and wishes manifest for you soon, especially the bearded ones. Yeah. Have a great day. Queen. You deserve all the beautiful things. I love your guts. Buddy. I just saw her Monday at work. That's what it. Hey, Josh. It's Jennifer here. Your favorite Patreon member. Sending you a really long, uncomfortable hug for your birthday. Because I know you love those.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your birthday wishes from all your fans. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. Hey, Josh. It's Andrew. And Cody, two of your people from your very exclusive alphabet cult. You're probably wondering why this postcard has no subtitles. Well, we had an urgent message to relate to you. We were walking in the woods when we came across foul tracks that ran past some waters. They let us to a barn in which we found a dollar written on it was a very important message. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Thank you, boys. Hey, Josh. It's Doreen. I just wanted to say happy, happy birthday to you.

You deserve all the best. Every time I listen to the podcast, I just love your stories about the old folks home. And your grandma and all your personal stories that you tell you always make my day. And you deserve the best birthday ever. And I hope you get one. Happy birthday, Josh. Well, my stars. Happy birthday, my love. I hope you have a fantastic day because you deserve it. You have such a beautiful kind of lifting soul. And I feel blessed every day to be able to call you my best friend. I love you, lots. Have a great day. Was that right? Yeah. Yeah. I'm not heard of voice like in this format before. Put that on. I'd send her a message on Facebook. I said, hey, I'm doing something special for Josh's birthday. Do you want in on it? And she's like, yes. Oh. Yeah. Just a sound of her voice makes me cry.

You're like, this person, this random person called me best friend. Well, no, I'm like, you know, I a lot of our listeners, I see as our friends. But I'm like, you know, trying to think I'm like, it's more the voice sounds familiar, but I'm like, who is this? Yeah, it's fun though, because all these people we talk back and forth with on Patreon. But you just know them by their name and their picture. Yeah. So like as it's just cool to hear their voice and you're like, oh my gosh, they have a nice voice. Yeah, it was funny because I just sent out like a mass email to everybody to see if they, to all the Patreon supporters. To see who wanted in on it. And when I got Cody and Andrews, I sent them a message back. I said, you guys win for the most unique, the most unique birthday wish. That first voice was deep by her eyes. So I'll just crop up a little bit. Oh, you. First, I was like, oh, how'd they get one of my. Hey, babies me. I thought I was going to be fun.

So I thought it would be fun on Josh's birthday to do something like what I did for Kim. I've telling you two mysteries that I found that happened on your birthday. Yeah. And I thought how funny it was when I was trying to find these because I was like, you know, a lot of people do stuff for their siblings birthdays. But how many of them are like, I'm going to find a missing person in an unidentified remains. Mystery for their birth day. Surprise for their birthday. I was like, oh, only mine. No, you're just so lucky. Josh, you're just so lucky to have me. All right. So it's 6.20 in the evening in Ramsey, England. Andrew Bedford is sitting in a light blue Ford station wagon eating takeout, which is what Kim was doing the time. He had her takeout and her car and kind of she doing it and she allowed me. I don't know. I closet eat all the time. I had someone Kim was in the parking lot. I think Culver's warns and a mutual person we knew drove by them. I don't think that you saw them.

Yes, I did because they send me a text and they're like, oh, that's right. And they're like, you would have died seeing Kim. As I pulled up next to her car, she was wrapping her mouth around this massive burger. And they're like, I think it was the biggest thing I've ever seen in my life. And I'm like, I don't know if she can swallow that. And I was like, you don't know Kim. Like I do. No, I'll make eye contact while I do it in a certain dominance. I'll take the biggest softie spot and look straight at the rise. So Andrew Bedford was sitting in a light blue Ford station wagon in England eating takeout. It's September 28th 1990. That is his last confirmed sighting. Oh, I ate them. And then I was created. His girlfriend reports him missing the next day. Police search with a helicopter and divers were sent out. They put out posters, but Andrew was never found. Years later, detectives say they believe he was killed with a shotgun that same evening at a local garage.

In 2015, they reopened the case as a murder investigation. But by September 2020, police say that they ran out of leads to follow. They have arrested people that they were suspicious of, but they were released and never charged. Andrew's body has never been found. But it's interesting to me that like he's last seen in his vehicle eating, but like there's no other trace of him. Like so it's just very interesting to me to think of like to have diarrhea fell off a cliff and possible aliens. It was aliens. Oh, definitely. I hope if I get abducted, it's not while I'm on the, you know, taking a do's. I know what happened. Weather balloon came down. Yes. Yes. He walked out to go through his trash away in a weather balloon had a loose. Take foot, try to stop it. Try to round out the Loch Ness monster, held him down. Look at us, solving crimes for Josh and Bird. I had a friend on my Facebook that went to see the Loch Ness.

I saw. Oh, yeah, that's right. Your friends with their too. And you could see Nessie in the back. It was fun. Yeah, shoes in Scotland. And I almost commented the way I'd travel with a leaf blower in Scotland every killed I came across. All right. Well, that same day of Josh's birthday across the Atlantic, the Sheriff's office and Stafford County, Virginia gets a report of a human skull. A property owner found it while cutting heavy brush in a field. It was under a fence line beside a road. Researchers find no other human remains nearby. The skull shows no signs of injury, but the medical examiner can't determine what caused the death. September 28th is the date of the discovery that this skull was reported. For years, investigators cannot put a name to the remains. They have a reconstruction of the face made, hoping someone will recognize him.

A search using his DNA also failed to identify him. Then a different kind of DNA work gives them a family connection. Researchers identify a possible father and brother, further testing confirms who he was. In February 2022, officials announced they've identified him, a young man named Timothy. More than 30 years after the discovery, the remains finally had a name. But the announcement leaves another question open. What happened to Timothy? In the announcement, investigators asked for information about his death. So they were able to give him his name back, but they could never explain how he ended up there. The weirdest part about this whole thing, coincidence is I'm telling you, because this when I saw this Josh, it gave me goosebumps. Oh God. The name of the road where the skull was found.

What? Joshua road. Oh, that's strange. Isn't that very bizarre? I like that because I never think of anything other than the day I was born as an improvement upon the planet. The world stopped turning for one moment and all the human race looked to me. You don't think about like, what else was happening? People died. Right? Or got abducted by weather balloons. Josh was zero days old. So I mean, he could have been responsible for it. I mean, if he's going to kind of stole, put it on the road with his name on it. Joshua road. And also, why don't we have a Joshua road here? I feel like that's a good point. We had a point road where he's lit. That's true. Let's see. Let's see. Today are all my birthday in history. William the Conquer invaded England in 1066. Huh. Who knew? Who knew? And I share a birthday with TV host Ed Sullivan and actor Bridget Parto.

Oh, that's cute. How fun. That ring looks so good on your finger, Josh. I like it. I mean, it looks like color cast a spell on us. I know. I'll put a spell on you. And now you're mine. I don't know that part in that moment. I felt threatened me like that. A cult leader kills one of his followers. Oops. That was the 80s. You know how we have talked about that Jim Jones was from Indiana. Yeah. Do you know who else I found out was from Indiana that I did not know? Yeah, there's another cult leader. The one that had the church in Indianapolis. That was Jim Jones. Okay. There's so many. There's another one. Who is the most infamous cult leader that you know besides Jim Jones? I can't keep their names straight. Let me give you a hint. Helter Skelter. Oh, yeah. That is who I was thinking of, but I can't think of his name now.

Charles Manson. Yeah, Charles Manson. Here we go. Yeah. So I did not know this. I was watching a documentary that included his granddaughter. Yeah. And she went to Indiana, where he was in a boy school. And it's believed by historians and researchers that he was completely normal up until he got put into the boy school because that broke him. But I was like, what a fixed me. But I was like, what are the chances that the two most infamous cult leaders, Centro and Indiana? Yeah. I ain't nothing else to do in here on God. But then I was like, I'm surprised I've never heard this. And I'm like, you know Indiana dang wells trying to get that deleted from the text on. Well, those are the only two that's been in Indiana for Balmyster was here. Yeah, but I know, but I'm just talking like these are the two most infamous in history. Like everyone knows their names. And then I say that and just probably someone was saying, you know, what's that though? What did you say? You know, that's how they left the. Oh, yeah, I know. Uh-huh. That is true. A chakcho. They did all their crimes elsewhere.

After they left, maybe after they left, they went crazy. That's probably what it was. They were shit and ruined. I did feel bad for the granddaughter. Like that would be difficult. I did too. I feel like bad for too. No, that is your grandfather and like the world always like, well, identify you as Charles Manson's granddaughter. Like I felt horrible for her. I feel like I wouldn't want to get get it to me. I'd use it in my advantage. Like if a guy tried to mess with me and he knew I was his, you know, like, you know, you look pretty. You know, that'd be a good defense mechanism. That's true. Especially as a girl on its skin. Nice. Well, thanks for joining us to gay. To gay. To gay on my birthday. Oh, my birthday. Yeah. We hope that you enjoyed watching us eat these cupcakes. Which one was your favorite? Well, you didn't eat the other one. I was gonna say that on the cup one. The strawberry. In the next one. Shortcake ones were really good. I kept them in the fridge because I'm like, you know, I like the idea of a nice, cool

treat. And they don't take long to like something. No, and I like the size. They're small. Yeah. Yeah, I like that. I am trying to cut back on my sugar and take. Oh, really? Not for health reasons, strictly for vanity. Strictly sugar is so bad for your skin. Oh, no, I know. And I drink a lot of water. And I feel like my skin would improve a lot more if I just cut out a lot of the sugar. A lot of sugar. Yeah. Well, what I noticed, like normally if someone has had an addiction problem in the past and they get over it, what's common is they'll then become addicted to soda and sugar. I hope. Yeah, sugar, like soda and treats and sweets. Well, they'll start with mints and people don't realize how much sugar mints have. Yeah, I've gotten into that problem after 12 of them. I'm like, oh, I feel funny. Oh, too many. Unless you get the sugar free ones. Yeah, that'll give you the bathroom problem.

Too much sugar free. All right, guys, well, like I said, thank you for joining us. We hope to see you right back here next week. Who knows what you'll find us eating. Oh, I'm betting for next week.
