That one courtesy of Rukin on the discord. Okay, I'll look up that for now to RYUK again.
Yeah. RYUK. I mean it's like you're trying to be both RYUK and Ken from Street Fighter. What a combo. Or should you Ken? Hadoel Ken? Hadoel Ken. RYUK and anyway have you seen the trailer for the new Street Fighter? I saw a clip and I just kind of got bummed out. Really? It was so maximalist. It's so maximalist. I need a minimalist Street Fighter. I think it's just sort of like... I've not seen Eric Andre and they're just like being the face of Street Fighter. I hope they let him like actually get some Eric Andre in there and not just be like... I even screaming. I just saw a fight scene, like a clip of a fight scene with Blanca and I was like holy shit. But I mean look, I threw countless quarters away in a Street Fighter 2 arcade machine at my local 7-11. So yeah, I'll probably end up seeing it. But back to the maxing. Max maxing. TJ Maxing. I'm TJ Maxing. My name is Jack O'Brien. That over there is Mr. Miles Gray.
This is the episode where we tell you some of the things that are trending on this first day of October. Thursday, October first. Happy October, T. All. Yeah. Let's have it in the world of politics. Months out, Miles, it seems like the GOP is doing great. They seem comfortable with where they're at. Yep. Yep. Look, we're at people are making their final cases to the voting public. Obviously, the House of Representatives, they called it quits early and just went back to their districts. And, you know, we've talked about it. Republicans are actually in disarray over the midterms. They are in power and they are just watching the economy go poof because they don't have the spines to reel in the president. But maybe that's a cool magic trick. Maybe making the entire economy go poof is a cool magic trick that we could brag about. I don't know. I'm just spit falling back. Yeah. I mean, I don't mind America not being the world's police as much anymore. So
yeah, that can go poof for sure. I think for those of us that unfortunately have to toil in this country, can go both ways. But some Republicans, you know, they've jumped ship ship in terms of like messaging and they're saying stuff like we are not like Trump on X, Y and Z issue. While others have just like hid from debate stages in town halls. So, you know, what is the speaker of the house? What's his take on all of this? What's the message? The speaker of the house, the majority leader in the house of representative representatives? What is he want to tell the fucking the people of the angelized jack off guy, right? Yes. That is Mike Johnson. Like the guy who was an app on his phone that he uses to he may not still dead hand switch. Where if he looks at porn, it will message his it'll tell his son and let him know and buy the receipts of what he was looking at. I'm vice versa. Yeah. That guy. Okay. Very normal. Just very normal. Also very normal. He has no bank accounts, which makes it incredibly hard
to understand what he's doing with his money. I think a really underrated part about Mike Johnson's lore. He has no bank accounts. Yeah. Like he has very little financial like formal financial records because of this kind of thing. And it's fair. So people are like, what the fuck's up? What kind of thing? Because I don't. He's just like, he's not a real person. Like he doesn't have a credit record. They're just like, yeah, man, we own you. Essentially you are a you are a figment of our imagination. He just doesn't list a no he just had list no bank accounts. All right. Yeah. I mean, I don't list bank accounts either. Yeah. Yeah. When you have to do a discourse or a disclosure for a financial disclosure, he goes, yeah, I don't know. I don't got any. I don't got nothing. And you're like, how is that whatever? So here's Mike Johnson saying, all right. So what are you going to tell the people? Like gas prices are way too high. People are still talking about unaffordable healthcare.
They're talking about ice raids. What's what can the people expect from the Republicans? We were doing the next two years is exactly what we have been doing already. And that is putting the conditions in place for a strong America again. We restored not just American energy dominance and peace through strength, but a vibrant economy. Of course. Sorry. One more time. Can you just say it again? But what we would do in the next two years is exactly what we have been doing already. Exactly what we've been doing already. That's man, that is a fucking lukewarm. Stay the course captain Smith. Yep. Great. Great. Okay. So on this trajectory, so continue to watch people's retirements, strain, cost of living to go up exponentially. That kind of thing. I respect it. I respect it. I think what they're going for is everyone's always like, we need change. They are delivering a rate of change that is beyond what anybody was expecting, except for people
who are paying attention. Yeah. I think it's also a good way of acting like nothing's wrong too. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah. We're just doing the exact same thing. Because you can't, you don't want to, you don't want to do the thing where like, I get it, man. We can be doing more. Don't say that. Don't ever admit that. So just say more of the same. I mean, Trump's latest move was just announced on Wednesday where he's sending out $500 checks, almost a million Americans that were, quote, overcharged for Obamacare by sleepy Joe Byron. Okay. So yeah, that does not mean the only move. Yes. Not by the five people. He promised everyone, but there's a whole like a letter attached to it about how what he's doing and helping you, etc. I don't know if that's going to move the needle. So anyway, make sure your registration is up to date. And if you're in a position, oust one of these fuckers, please do so because it's only going to get worse. And do we, because it does feel like again, then being like we're doing more of the same,
either they are delusional or they have some plan for just tipping over the table and being no fair at this point, like election experts and watchdogs are they're based on what the president is doing. They, they're all looking at the sort of period while votes are being counted. As when he's going to make it the moment that Trump potentially could make a move to try and toss the results or cast as Persians over the results and try and get another January 6 going or something. I just again, the stakes just aren't the same. Every time he thinks he can get people in a frenzy over stuff like he completely underestimates just how much their attention is on other things. Yeah. All right. Well, speaking of attention on other things, I would like to talk about Mike Tomlin. Did you see he's doing like a Roblox thing or something? Minecraft. He just toward like, so he is for people who aren't familiar. I know we're not a sports podcast. He was the coach of
the Steelers for like years and years, like, like, what was 20 years? Almost 20 years. Yeah. Widely believed to be one of the best coaches in the history of the NFL. Widely believed to be the most intense human being who has ever, was ever, well, just like, he's the guy who was always yelling, cut your eyelids off at his players. So like that's that's he's just like that sort of dude, you know, yeah. For how intense he is. He looks. He looks. He looks. He looks. Football coach. He intends in like that way. Yeah. He's like, you know, his skill is great. I gotta say, whenever I see Mike Tomlin, I'm always like, that can't be Mike Tomlin still. Like, I remember when Ben Rothless Berger was the quarter and he was the coach. When he looked that way. Still. Yeah. Ben Rothless Berger has aged millennia by comparison. He looks like a hair left out in the sun for things. So anyways, Mike Tomlin, man's man sports guy, just let the world in on
the fact that he is a generational minecraft architect. He took viewers on a tour of a city that he has been working on for the last 12 years. And it quickly became like it first people like, okay, what is this going to be? But like the way he talked about it. Right. He just like has that he's like and so is very important to me that we actually have a realistic number of bathrooms. Because a lot of other like minecraft cities, he won't have the proper number of bathrooms as compared to the number of rooms. So he like spends a lot of time like talking about. And then there's a bathroom that would actually, you know, function. He's got like big ideas about, you know, urban planning. He's like talking about this indoor outdoor space where that would be like a communal living area for people 12 years. And it looks like it took 12 years. Like it looks. It is an
incredible feat of just time and effort and passion that I don't know. It's just like you for the first time you feel like you have a glimpse into like who he is. Yeah. It's just like, it's wild. I saw this image like on like probably, I don't know social media somewhere. When it was him, it was sort of like rooftops, pet houses and urban living with Mike Tomlin. And I was like, and I was just like, this can't be the same guy. But I love to see that he's, he's so detailed oriented that he's like, great. Another thing that I can just pour my just crazy sense of detail into. Yeah. Perfect. Minecraft. And look at this city. He called it like therapeutic. He builds, he's like very proud of the spa that he built into the ground floor of a building. It's funny because like he's very fixated on bathrooms and having the right number of bathrooms. But there are no kitchens anywhere. Which like if you think about the life of an NFL coach, you know,
that probably just like, yeah, I've never ever eaten takeout. Yeah, right. Or like at restaurants before I was opening a Styrofoam container. Yes. And he's like, look, I'm not, I don't have good stick control. He keeps talking about that. And like as he's like giving you the tour, he keeps like bumping into walls and stuff and like spinning it around. But he, he just loves, you know, it doesn't matter. Doesn't phase him. Yeah. Just in it. And he did it with his 19 year old son who is like the one who's creating the video and who's like the the tour that he gave as 19 minutes long. He's like, this is going to be at least a two hour series because of the amount of detail and features that are in this city. Oh, shoot. And he also talks about how when he dropped one of his sons off at college, she like saw a building on a hill and was like, I'm going to incorporate that. So he's like out in the world, like thinking about inspiration. Oh, that's beautiful. It's like to think about like,
it's what I hear him talking about Minecraft. The man is very mindful. It does have the all the emotion of a like post game post game press conference. Right. And like a older gen X guy playing a video game. Yeah. I created a, you know, a city and they spawned the city and I just want to start around a body of water. Time I had no idea, you know, how basic city might get over whatever. But I kind of wanted densely populated buildings and so forth. And so I started small and of course, over the course of 12 years, man, the neighborhoods and communities and so forth. That's so. Oh my God. It's like you're talking to an actual founder of a city. He had to stride around a body of water, obviously good for you, Mike. Yeah. He gets like excited about this building that is like kind of built around an aquarium, which is fucking sick. Like that is also what I like done. Yeah.
I'm not a child like wonder in it. Yeah. Yeah. That's the right move. You got to build your building across a bunch of aquariums. I wonder if there are more apartment buildings that have like multi-floor aquariums running from one unit to the next, you know. Do you think it started where he was like playing over his kid's shoulder when his kid was like seven. Right. Yeah. Man, look at your stick control all sloppy man. Cut your eyelids off man. Cut your eyelids off. City makes no goddamn sense boy. All right. So would that go there when I get back from this road trip, I better see some fucking progress on the utilities. But he does like complain about about like certain features of Minecraft. He's like this. They wouldn't let me reshape the typography, which made it very tedious and not fun for me. So it's just like only I were God. Yeah. But anyways, there's a good right up of it and defector that we'll link off to. Let's see a quick break. We'll be right back.

Um, and let's check back in with Eric Schmidt. Was it was this morning's episode? We talked about his big, his big moment that he's fine. That we're talking about that he's fine that he meant to do that. That's what I'm supposed to do. I was just asking questions. The guys giving answers. Man, there's nothing to see here. No, I'll take it. It was a normal conversation. Find a new angle. So what was that about in the Asynida? Uh, I know like embarrassing, they wasn't embarrassing moment for you. That wasn't like,
I know. Not completely humiliating. It's a hit's gonna roll for that. Somebody gave you the wrong information. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. What are you talking about? I don't even know what you mean. Like how do you even see that as embarrassing? Yeah, you appear to be weeping. Yeah. From your pants, Mike. Um, so Eric Schmidt really shit the bed with his questioning of Jack Smith this week. Uh, just that dumb, one dumb moment has somehow derailed a lot of his political aspirations. Like this is like 2008 or something. So people who weren't listening to this morning's episode, he was like, uh, he, you could, you've never seen somebody with a more like more confidence going and being like, uh, he, he had been convinced himself that Jack Smith was at a Atlanta Hawks game with Fawning Willows and then it became clear that the text messages that he had were actually referencing a Iowa Hawkeyes game. And they just like didn't bother to follow through.
No questions asked. Yeah, that's Jack Smith, special counsel who was looking into, you know, the overturning of the 2020 election in January 6th. And so for starters, the local papers in Missouri are laughing at him. Uh, this one says, quote, just when you think Eric Schmidt couldn't possibly embarrass himself in his constituents anymore than he already has. He goes in for a rhetoric rhetorical layup gratuitously throws an elbow spectacularly misses the shot and then stomps around the court indignantly when the ref calls a foul. This is, this is the man representing six million Missourians in the world's quote greatest deliberative body. Sheesh. Sheesh. He's still claiming that he knew the difference between the Iowa, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Atlanta Hawks. This time he was defending his stunt to a fucking sports blog. Wait, so it just in the hypothetical world that he is proposing. So what did he think was happening? If that's still so unclear, knows the difference. And yet he was like, you were at the Hawks game. And he was like, I was at
the Hawkeyes game. And he was like, Oh, our entire entire. No other questions for the part. Yeah. The prosecution rests. Yeah, I mean, we still don't know again, because you go forward. Okay. So let's, let's presume all of this was true. He wasn't, he was at Atlanta Hawks game. The day after Fahny Willis announced this relationship with another prosecutor. Then it does, it's not even that damning. He doesn't, they don't have anything other than that. And I think just to be like, I think they just want to be like, you guys are all colluding together and going to a Hawks game to it again, doesn't make sense. It's a kind of thing when like you have such Q and on brain. And you get these little details and you're like, what was it? Is okay. There's a basketball game. And then there's going to be connected to Fahny Willis. Yes, this is it. So this is what he said to a sports blog. Quote, there was no confusion between Hawkeyes and Hawk. It was, Hey, you were at a basketball game on February 2nd. Was that an Atlanta?
Because that was the only NBA game at 730 that night. I asked him a question. If he was in Atlanta, at a Hawks game, it turns out his testimony was he was somewhere else at a Hawkeyes game. So we had text messages of him being at a game, you know, on February 3rd, whatever that or February 2nd, whatever the day was. So I just asked him if he was in Atlanta because that was actually the only NBA game with a tip off at 730 that night. He's just going over it. So I was just saying because like I thought it was. So anyway, man, you do you though, bro. Yeah, you said that's his testimony. Whatever. I mean, again, I actually like Jack Smith. All right. I don't know why everybody's trying to make a thing between us. Yeah. I don't know why they're acting like I'm a hater, dude. I have all his albums, man. Yeah. But you like the sixers this year? What are your thoughts? Do you like this year? He just changing it up. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, I don't like Braun commuting in a helicopter. I like that. I'm like me a little nervous. You know, it's very nervous. You know what I mean? Just just for him and his legacy. But again, like we're saying, do a little research, right? Because in the text, like is he in section 109,
bubble? If you just look, is there such a section at state farm arena where the Atlanta Hawks play? No. No. That doesn't even line up. You're just so into the thing that like, there's a basketball game. Well, it has a 730 tip up. It's in Atlanta. Holy shit, guys. I think we fucking broke the case. This guy was in Atlanta. Yes. It is real internet detective shit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, for sure. This is why internet detectives are also bad. Just as bad as real detectives. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, somewhat better because I feel like we seem more regular people solving problems. Yeah. Before even they go up to detectives and say, Hey, I solved that cold case. Oh, yeah. Oh, pretty cool. What do you do at your podcast? That's great. So even again, before that, Schmidt could have listened to his colleagues that were like, I don't know, man. This stuff isn't fully vetted that we got from the White House. This is from there were some people saying, oh, so this came directly from the White House.
They were getting all kinds of materials that they were gathering. And so this specific set that I think Eric Schmidt was like, this could be it. Quote, as they prepared for the testimony, testimony of former special counsel, Jack Smith, Republican staff on the Senate Judiciary Committee gave Schmidt a warning. The text they had obtained for, oh, sorry, they got it from the Justice Department. But again, this is all there all they'll have the same effort. They got from the Justice Department, which Schmidt suggested was proof. Smith had colluded with the Georgia state prosecutor were quote, unvetted. Schmidt used the texts anyway. His shrapters. Yeah, very confident. Lito and with props. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And let's just pour one out for the poor accessories to this fiasco, the people who held the props because they're also catching straight. Yeah, they had printouts of the text messages with his face and funny wills. Was that where was she on that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, she was on there. I'm surprised they didn't just like Photoshop it to make it look like they were kissing each other.
Yeah, exactly. Or like rubbing their mits together, like in trench coats and like in dark alley or some shit. Yeah, the guy who was holding the poster, his general counsel. He's, he is also, his career also might be wobbling here. Quote, Ethan Harper, the general counsel, the senator Eric Schmidt was expected to leave his role on Friday and begin a new one in the White House staff secretaries office next week. But that transition was in doubt today, following a congressional hearing that's embroiled Schmidt and controversy. I mean, he did also look pretty stupid because he put the text messages up and like made it so obvious that they did not know what the fuck they were talking about because he immediately took it down. He was like, it was, they go there. It is. I didn't see that. I can't read. It's proof positive that you're lying. So I don't think you need to see it. I think I think you've already perjured yourself. You probably didn't know we had this stuff. This incorrect stuff. I think you knew we had these incorrect accusations that we were about to
level at you and make ourselves look like complete assholes. God damn, those. It's so quaint though that someone in 2026 could actually derail their career by acting like a fucking idiot as a Republican. Right. It's doesn't that feel odd? It's like new level of, yeah, just really, I don't yeah, it kind of reminds me of the Ted Cruz where he like does the big run-up to the trampoline to dunk and then like only made it. And then just falls flat on a stomach because it has like such buildup. You know, it's like, this is it. This is like, hey, you might put on the bulls, the Jordan Arab bulls, intro music for me real quick, because I'm about to take this motherfucker down with a slam dunk. Yeah, it wasn't it. Yeah, I mean, how's the hawk scale, my man? It could be that it could be that thing too, where it's because Trump hates like
really obvious humiliation. Like when Pam Bondy absolutely shit the bed, like when people absolutely shit the bed on TV, that's usually that's probably what it is because everything else is like it's just the sort of steady hum of this party is just stupidity through and through, but it's like when it gets to the point where like everyone's laughing, like it makes even people who don't know about politics are laughing at you then. Right. So Trump Trump, no, one thing Trump does know is good TV. And this was the point of TV. It was such good TV. Like I don't think a congressional hearing has ever been such good television as this moment. Yeah, a lot of people were just pointing out they're like, this is like some shit out of VEEP. Like what the fuck is this, but hey, stranger than fiction. Let's talk crypto real quick because that was a big part of Trump's 2024 platform is going to be the most crypto president of all time. Yeah, the industry pumped like
almost a quarter billion dollars into races that year since you know the way that you know, crypto backed Trump big big Lee, well also other Democrats too because they were hoping with Trump in office, they would get their landmark legislation passed the Clarity Act. And that was basically a bill that was going to create a federal regulatory framework for crypto and ushering in a more like legitimized era for crypto currencies. And like for them to be like, oh shit, if this is the case, I'm like, we're going to be fucking making money because we've now have the full embrace in the government. Yeah. And cut to today, crypto is no closer to getting that bill approved. And the only person in crypto that has actually seen any meaningful growth is Donald Trump probably, we found out earlier this year, he made $1.4 billion on cryptocurrencies in 2025. So and then also like remember, he kicked off their administration with a shit coin that people were buying to that thing. The value is completely gradered. So now the crypto fans are regretting
their vote. I love this quote from this. Yeah, this is the hero in crypto, like a couple of years ago. And now it's like the exact opposite. Bruno felt said in an interview. crypto already has a branding of it's just a bunch of scams and scammers. And this didn't help because now even the top guy did the same thing that people, you know, scam, scammed people. Yeah, you got fucking rug pulled, dude. Yeah. You know, and you guys know what you guys know this shit happens. You know, this is a huge part of this culture. Another guy who was in a focus group because they were like trying to just do some focus group with like young people who were crypto friendly, who supported what they basically did was a money grab said David from South Carolina. Why does he need to keep doing it? He's literally a billionaire. Like how much more money does he need? So a wonderful question. Yeah, I don't know, man. I mean, the, you know, the bull work points out
to Trump 143% of 18 to 29 year olds in 20 and 2024. His approval rating with voters under 30 dropped to 19% that seems bad, right? Yeah. So eight, like was a 81% of people 18 to 29 aren't fucking with it. And also found 63% are now saying they would vote for a Democrat. Now just based on all this. I mean, just funny because this is a group. The crypto people are a group of voters with higher than average understanding of investing and not to say that these are geniuses, but they understand what they're getting into on some level. Like they are. scam works. Yeah. What is a scam? And what is in this game? Right. Yeah. And how to avoid one? How do avoid being they all know, don't be, don't be the bag holder. Don't be left holding the bag. Right? So that's probably why they're so vocal about their frustration because they, they absolutely know. They're like, fuck, dude. This guy fucked up. What the fuck is wrong with?
It is like the one thing that Donald Trump, okay, I'm giving him some credit in this episode. One, he knows good TV. Two, he is a purely like financial scam built and like he is good at scamming people out of money. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That is his gift. Yeah. He's a salesperson. You know, created like the perfect opportunity for him to scam people and then been like, yeah, I'm sure this will make him sure this will work. This one's really different. Surely he will have too much shame to actually scam all of us. Yeah. People standing here holding the bag, telling each other not to get left holding the bag. I think he has a good whether or not it's intentional, but the feeling is like the people around him and his own instincts, they can tell when there's a group of people who just need to hear one thing to completely flip their world view and be like, oh, fuck the moments here. That's going to change my life. So for these guys, it was him being like,
I'm going to be very friendly with crypto and they go, this guy's a fucking greedy bastard. He wants to make money. Here we go, dude. This is the fucking moment we've all been waiting for. Now we're all in on this guy or conspiracy theorist racist, whatever. He just knows like it's like that machine that where the coins are getting pushed to the edge and it's getting closer and closer just finding those people. He made his money off of casinos. He knows how to take advantage of people just being like, I'm going to, I'm about to make a lot of money. He knows how to say the thing that is going to make people just the offer is too good to refuse. That's what he's good at. And he's been doing it all his life. And for a long time, people didn't believe him and then he moved himself into, you know, for a long time, he was like, I'm going to make the most luxurious building you've ever seen. Everybody's going to think you're a genius for living in this building and people were like, what? And then he like slightly like moved over three lanes
to a plate and was like, I'm going to make America a proud white supremacist nation. And people just hadn't heard that in so long that they were all like, are you serious? Right. No. What? I mean, yes. Okay. We got to do it then. Yeah. People just have to treat Trump like Billy Madison treated Chris Farley, the bus driver in Billy Madison. No, he goes that Veronica Vaughan is one piece of age. I know from experience. If you know what I mean, no, you know, you don't. Well, not me personally, but a guy I know I'm, no, they didn't. No, no, they didn't, but you could imagine. Just like you could imagine if they did. Yeah, maybe, but you're lying. You're always lying. So shut up. All right.
