On March 17, an Amtrak train heading from Los Angeles to New Orleans collided with an 18-wheeler Tuesday morning near Houston, Texas. The train carried 90-pre passengers and 11 crew members, totaling more than 100 people on board. The incident happened on Union Pacific tracks when the truck entered the path of the oncoming train. Emergency teams quickly put out a small fire at the scene and handled a fuel spill from the train. No one suffered serious injuries, with just two people treated for minor issues right there on site. Crew members, the conductor, and even the truck driver walked away unhurt. The train stayed on the tracks without derailing, and hazardous materials experts contained the spill with no threat to nearby residents. Passengers were safely moved off the train as a precaution, and are now heading east on charter buses to pick up their journey. Made in the eye.
