Toxic Tech: Boxton’s xAI Data Center -A Case of Environmental Racism

Residents in the Boxton, TN  have been raising serious concerns about pollution linked to the nearby xAI data center for months. Activist and experts also have identified it as a clear case of environmental racism. Community members report increased air pollution, in a town which is disproportionately low-income and predominantly minority. Many have argued that the facility would not have been placed in a more affluent area, and they’re demanding greater oversight, transparency, and environmental protections. This is not an anomaly as cases like this are across the US and neighborhoods reflecting Boxton.
