Welcome back to THE WILD!
All around the world, humans are getting up close and personal with wildlife. In Los Angeles, black bears are playing with floaties in swanky backyard swimming pools. Mountain lions are dodging cars trying to get across 10-lane highways. In subarctic Norway, generations of Eider keepers are bonding with vulnerable ducks.
But when is getting too close to wildlife too far?
Join host Chris Morgan for Season 8 of THE WILD, where he'll travel the world to meet the people defending space for wildlife, from deep in the wilderness to their own backyards. How can wildlife, wild places, and humans share our beautiful planet?
New episodes of THE WILD come out starting on October 6, 2026.

All around the world, humans are getting up close and personal with wildlife. There's a bear. There's a bear. Oh my god, I'm right on the side of the road there. In LA, black bears are playing with floaties in swanky backyard swimming pools. I've never seen such a casual bear in my life that is amazing. Mountain lions are zipping around cars on 10 lane highways. Where did this cat come from? In sub-art Tick Norway, generations of Ida keepers are bonding with vulnerable ducks. He's kneeling in front of the houses, he's saying things like, look how lovely you look today, ladies. But when is getting too close to wildlife going too far? What's he doing? Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's like putting a band-aid on a jugular wound. I really don't think this is going to fix the problem. Next thing someone's going to get killed, I'm sorry, that's what's going to happen.
On the next season of the wild with Chris Morden, we venture into some new territory. From ecology to psychology. You learn over time who to include in your sphere of moral concern, right? Some beings are worthy of respect and some beings are not. We'll meet people defending space for wild animals, from deep in the wilderness, to their own backyards. I'm crawling through sagebrush looking for a blade of grass, and like, I think it's pretty fun. Oh, they're so tiny, little little baby. Oh, beautiful. It's working, like it's freaking working, how awesome is that? Come along with me as we figure it out. How can wildlife, wild places, and humans share planet Earth? You are supposed to be listening to the plants and the animals, because they have things to say that you need to hear. The wild season 8 coming Tuesday, October the 6th.
I'm like, oh my god, did he really eat the cutest animal on the planet? Oh crap. Find it on the KUW app or wherever you get your podcast.
