It's a busy week of golf as the calendar turns to October! Andy and Brendan are both ready for some playoff baseball and spend this episode previewing the six (6!) golf events taking place this weekend. First, there's a bit of Presidents Cup cleanup, with Brendan wondering if Jason Day would've put the Internationals over the top if he wasn't injured. Still buzzing from Medinah No. 3's starring role, Andy takes aim at governing bodies scheduling out major venues for the next 20 years and can't believe we won't see Medinah on a major stage again anytime soon. The two preview the Bank of Utah Championship, where the three betting favorites were not PGA Tour members at this time last year. They also bring back the Lotte at Lottie's Challenge, highlighting this week's LPGA event and one of Chicago's finest establishments. After running through the rest of the schedule - including a "Classic" Champions Tour week - they bring on Matthew Galloway to discuss the ongoing USGA Mid-Am. Matthew, a reinstated amateur himself, and Andy discuss the USGA's stance on the issue that has swept the nation... or just a lot of angry people on Golf Twitter. Matthew also gives his take on the recent wave of executive departures from the LPGA.

Now the shotgun's starting golf is full of mathematics. There's a lot of set up work that we have to do in order to make a tournament work. So, I'm going to demonstrate to you just exactly how we do a shotgun start here. And here we go. All right, all right, all right. Determine! Start your engine! Good. It's a welcome to a Wednesday edition of the shotgun start. It is September 30th. Andy, how are we doing? Brendan! We're doing fantastic. I got to say it's a victory Tuesday when we're recording this. I don't know if it's going to be a victory Wednesday of packed Chicago's warrants scene. It's quite the time to be in Chicago after the peak up rolling into the...
How about the bears just smackin' down the eagles? That was great. I mean, I went to bed earlier. I can't say it was great, but it was, you know, I guess you could have seen it coming. Like the experience? The fraudulent. Experience backup QV with like a coach. Like, I mean, my biggest takeaway for you guys is just, look, I know these things come and go, because it turns quickly in FL. But I feel like you kind of have your guy, regardless of circumstances, for ideally, you know, ten years. Maybe more, right? Happy times. Happy, happy, happy times. It's down year, whatever. He's the guy, clearly. Now we got to get the cubbies, cubbies going. See if our bullpen can, you know, not combust. You got your black and yellow on. Black and yellow, black and yellow. He's still wearing the shield. I love it. Commitment. Commitment. Delegate. Invictor into feet. You're in your head high. He's show up for the pods. Oh, this is your black and yellow. This is for C-Bas playing the Utah championship this week.
He's out there. It's got to get in his fall positioning. He's got to get some fall positioning. Well, I got to ask you. I was thinking about this because I just, this is the stuff I think about when I have idle time. What Jason Debian on that team have changed anything for you? Like we talk about Neiman and the other guys Herbert. Jason Debian is not injured. C-Bas is probably not on the team. Would that have changed anything material? Hold what are we talking about? I'm talking about Jason Debian's health team. He does what he does. What would be on the team? I don't think C-Bas would bet. I think we could look at other players and examine whether other players would be on the team. C-Bas is the, it has a 4-2 and 1 record in the press and Scott. I think one of my, one of my big takeaways is that these match play record records are
some of the most fraudulent to see a sort of misplaced statistics going right now. Right? Wendy was 1-4. He was maybe the best player on the American side. I could see you're distracted. You're texting. We're both getting text message right now. I'm no longer recording the line on match play records. Wendy was 1-4. Scotty, who everyone agreed, didn't play well this week. Was 3-1-0. I think you just, you try to see BAS. I mean, come on. Corey Connors played all 5. Was barely, could barely get through that single session. I think, you know, records just are so deceiving at this point. But if you want to lean on it for C-Bas, go ahead. I will always, I will always, you know, he's Mr. Consistent. He took God up to 18, too. It's not like he got indoors. He did not have a bad week. He was far from the worst player.
I was just thinking of Chase. He was 1-1. He was just, he changed this. Anyway, I would ask, is would Jason Dave contributed a 1-1 record? Contributed less. I do, I think that's a fair question to ask. But the international's are close. I feel like they're getting closer. We'll see. Any other cleanup from the peak cup you had the discourse? You know what just continues to sit with me the wrong way. What? You know, this isn't President's Cup. The USGA's venue selection process. I don't think it's ever sat well with me. And it just sits insanely wrong to me. They have two available venues or they have one available venue or date until 2052 for the US Open. What day is it? 2043, which is in checks and checking my years, what, 17 years from now.
I, I don't understand. What gives people the, the lens that they should decide where like four generations of people from now, like golfers from now play their championships at. And why it's necessary. Like at all. And they've told me like, oh, they make investments into this. Like the big, okay, talking point, right? Like we can figure out, you know, investment. Investiture and yeah, yeah, year over year. Now like, don't all aren't all these RNA courses just like doing back flips and jumping over buildings with whatever the RNA asks. And they're planned out for four years. In a way, I think you actually have more leverage.
If you don't have it booked out and what are we doing? I guess, I guess my big question is like, why, why do we ask for this? Right. I, they're going to be like, well, you don't understand it. Open, we now know how to get a hop across the highway and use this space. And that comes back to us five years. Okay, we like are building each year for every five or whatever eight when it's at Oak Mont. I just, that's not enough. That's not enough. And you don't, that doesn't mean the 2043 one needs to be booked. This is like Congress running up a deficit for like our kids or whatever. It's not, you know, but at least there's some like immediate return to doing to like, right? To doing that. We have to do this because we have to fund this program right now and we're going to reckon with it down the line. But this really serves no purpose. It also, it's insane that they have created a situation where there can like they, oh, it
matters where you win your US open. Okay, it does. Oh, I can buy that. But you now created a situation where there's no possible way for there to be any new great venues for US opens because it's all the same thing and nobody, nobody in their right mind ever asked for Pebble Beach and, and Piner's number two, every four to five years. Of course, these places want to host it. It's a fricking week long commercial. Of course. For a $500, $800 T time. Yeah. Um, so you're mad about this because Medina is just. Not just Medina. It's all right. Of course, any new course, any renovated course, any. Maybe, you know, it's amazing. Like entire like Frisco didn't exist. Wasn't even a town. It was a tumbleweeds 20 years ago, 30 years ago.
I remember I went visit a friend in college. He lived in Plano. He was like, oh, there's nothing north of here essentially. It's all just tumbleweeds like cities, court like stuff just, it's crazy. The entire parts of the country may be uninhabitable. We don't know. It this thing is honestly, I, you know, I think, I think Seth Waw described it as malpractice. I think this is on, on, on its face, has big of a disaster as the rollback has been. And not too far behind is the way the USGA has handled reinstated amps. And this comes as someone I've got a USGA bag tag laying around here. I've been a USGA member since 1999. I'm a supporter of what they do. I believe in golf governance. It's just absolutely mind blowing to me how poorly they've handled venue selection,
how poorly they've handled the golf ball and equipment rollback. And then also how awfully they've handled the reinstated amp, you know, situation. What they're picking good venues. It's just the frequency with two of them and then going this far out, right? More or less. And just leaving it too closed up. I'd have to go and read like the idea of the US open in the early days. But I have to venture to guess that like there's some aspect of the history of the event. And like why it rotates venues is to give a to move it around the country. Yeah. And this setup that they've created, it goes to California, New York, Pennsylvania. And that's about it in North Carolina. And yeah, there's every 20 years Brookline gets their major.
But that's it. It's coming back online for two maybe. 2034 and 2040 or 2050. I think it might be 2052 lucky number 2052. Which is. So what's the right, what's the right like seven years, seven, eight years, something like that? I think we could be planned out. Honestly, I think the PGA has a there are 2035. Why do we need it to be more than five years? And my last question would be, okay, like I can't imagine the USGA can look at this honest face and be like, this is a good decision here. But what point can you just go to the clubs and say, you know what, we screwed up. You're a partner in this. And I hope you understand, but we can't, we can't award you the 2038 US Open yet because we don't even know if golf is going to be played then.
In theory, they could just scrap it. So like, wait, never mind, we should have done this everything after 2030. You know what happened? I don't want to hear all the mumbo jumbo about like, you must know at least eight years in the Vans or 10 or 20 or 30. They just canceled the Trump Edmonds to PGA. Yeah. I'm not like credit. They were storming the Capitol as they did it. I'm not saying it maybe, you know, but it happened and they relocated it, reallocated it to Southern Hills. That happened. It's doable. It's possible to change a venue without a ton of notice. So I don't know why, you know, that's like, you can't hold a major unless the place knows it's coming 10 years in advance. Just doesn't, it's not, not reality, the situation. But it sucks that Medina, like you see this and you're like, ah, well, we have nothing. It just, the only thing it has is tour events, which like, you know, I'm sorry, it doesn't
get me as excited. It's not just Medina. It's not just Medina. It's legitimately, you could build conceivably the great, a great championship golf course. And there's just no date to host it. And that sucks. You're actually like what you're doing is your disincentivizing great clubs to from renovating their golf course with the idea of a US open because they're all spoken foreign gone. Are they leveraging this up with like, well, maybe you can have a US, US, US, AM or US junior or US, US, US, AM. For ever, too. I know they're all just like, well, what do we have left here? Why do you take a four ball? Why do you take a senior AM, senior women's AM? So, so US, AM is, I can't believe we're 2037.
You can have your next US, AM 10 years from now or 11 years from now. You can have your next US, AM. And then the next available days 2043. Well, you know the kind of build up they need for the USA, and they need that. They need to know 10 years and events. Gotta get those, you get that infrastructure going. Let's rattle down. We got Matthew Galway college talking about the mid-Ampolito, but let's rattle down the schedule for the week real quick. Oh, you want to have first? Okay. Let's just get that. Let's talk about things. All right. This is going to be a quick one. We all have hard stops here. The bank, you got some infrastructure infrastructure issues at the office that are causing podcast delays. The wires are just bad. Bad wires Chicago. The bank you taught championship five to eight PM, all four days, Thursday through Sunday on the golf channel, Versaversafts golf channel. Black Desert Black Desert. Black Desert. Black Desert. Better be accurate. You have room.
But if you missed that room, you're in the lava rocks. Fall series continues to southern Utah. I do not believe J. Don Blake is in the field this year, sadly, but C. Bez is Tony Fina Lucas Glover, Max Homo, Billy Horseshal, Ben James, Jackson Coiven, and Nick Taylor, Andy. Hey, I just wanted to let you know that the 2021 USAM scheduled for Socken Valley if you wanted to make plans in Pennsylvania. What? Why? Why 51? Why Socken Valley, is that like an anniversary of some kind? Like what? That makes no sense. Why? Who asks for this? It's robbing future generations of any kind of free will agency. Yeah, exactly. It's crazy. Like, you know what? An executive would do if they came into a situation where there was just a bunch of miscellaneous contracts like that they didn't decide 30 years out.
They'd probably be like, can we get out of these? But again, it's serving no present purpose. Like I get it. Like we're going to run up the deficit to fund this right now. It serves no purpose except for a press release win. Like oh, 30 years from now, there's no current purpose or victory. You want a US women's open? Guess what? Next available venue is 38. 39 close. What's it saying? Those notables Andy, I thought this was an interesting point. As we talk about Jada and Blake, JJ Henry exemptions. Do you know this is Sam Harap. I saw him tweet this this morning, which we maybe would have gotten to it on our own. But who are the three petting favorites this week in Utah? Well, let's see, but it's obviously. Number one is Jackson Coivan. Number two is defending champ Michael Brennan. Number three is Ben James.
None of those players were PJ tour members 12 months ago. The three petting favorites, now we know, betting lines are sometimes based on interest and not necessarily the best player in the field or who might win. But three petting favorites were not even PJ tour members 12 months ago. This I would think is what you want. If you're a Brian roll up. If you want to follow that, like, hey, look at these new shiny toys. They're the favorites. They're the top guys. It obviously runs. It's another counter argument for keeping the PJ tour you guys out, right? Or just leaving more past champion exemptions or two year, three or four year, five year exemptions, those kinds of things. Three petting favorites weren't even members 12 months ago. The kids are all right. That's your bank of Utah championship. An interesting nugget. We love the black desert, of course, is a fall event, great event.
PJ said it's the event of the year. Matt McCarty and Michael Brennan, this is the third edition. On the LPGA championship, have you ever picked up your credit card yet that we left there on whatever that was Wednesday night? I guess I went Saturday night. It was jammed. It was so packed. I was bummed. None of the boys were around to have a pop or two. I felt bad. Did you stop it and have one or did you just get the card and go? It was an old man game. It was an old man game. I felt bad. Did you just got your card? Well, I was tired. I was by myself. I drove down there. I checked the traffic. I'm like, oh, I'm going to get down there 20 minutes. I did. I like to know that I could get to Lottie's in 20 minutes. Nice piece of information. But then I had to get out. I had to get out of there because I, it was crowded. Then the bartender, it was so crowded. The bartender spent like 15 minutes looking for my card.
So I gave her 20 bucks in the back. I mean, I felt bad. I was taken away from other tips she would have been earning. Sure. Good, Matt. Lottie's championship is Hawakali Country Club at U of Beach, Hawaii, Persis 3 million. Should we have the Lottie challenge again? We can do it. It's Lynn Grant, Hannah Green, human Wayne, Lydia Koch, Yara Romero, Maya Stark, Geno Tinnikum and Bio Yamashita. This is Primetime Golf and in 11 p.m. Eastern all four days, continuing on with our schedule.
We have the Champions Tour. This is the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic. Why is it a classic? It's an inaugural. How can they call it a classic? It's the first one ever. The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic, isn't that the Noxie Mora? I think it's one of those things where you're naming something and it grows up to me. There's a name for that. Right. That's what we're doing. I don't think you can just annoy yourself a classic if you've never had it before. This is at Lehigh Country Club in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Why we created this? Unclear. Purses 2.3 million. The Notables are on-hell, Stu Sink, Ernie Ells, Miguel On-Hell, Jimenez, Jerry Kelly, Vijay Singh, David Thompson and Mike Weir. I got a text from a friend of the program today that sent me an article. It was headlined. Breaking down the Zach Johnson versus Stuart Sink, PGA Tour Champion Spaddle.
The text said, this headline should be enough to shut down the senior tour. This first back song, PGA? It sounds like somebody that has a pain attention. You know the Utah Championship has a real Zach Johnson in it. The club pros, Zach Johnson. That's been in the PGA. He's played in the Utah Championship. We have Fakes Act in Lehigh. This is also Blocky's seventh start. So this is the magic number. It's for playoff qualification. Oh, come on. Wow. Something to keep an eye on. I'm Blocky. On the GP World Tour, we have the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This is at the Old Course, Kurnusty and Kings Barnes. All in five, Purses 5 million. A Venn of the Week is Bobby McIntyre. Notables, Matt Fitzpatrick, Fleetwood, Hatton, Bruxy is over there. Kepka. Their Rose Cam Smith is fresh off his Ripper season. He'll be playing at the Old Course, Sepstrocha and Bubba Watson. The range goat still plugging away over there in five. This is on 7 a.m. to noon.
So a noon finish all four days. Whether it's just typically always awful for this event, but yes, a Venn of the Week. Last, but not least, we also have the Corn Fairy Tour at the Beach Reate. The Bumble Beast playing too. OK. I should not that as he continues his push for the Ryder Cup at K-Claire, a dare manner. Last, but not least, certainly the Corn Fairy Tour. We have the Compliance Solutions Championship. This is two to five and then three to five Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the top 100 players in the standings. This is third to four events. Top 60 after the week go to the Tour Championship. This is at the Patriot. Patriot. Patriot. And a Waso Oklahoma. Some insight from the ground. At Patriot. Apparently, multiple sub 60 rounds are coming with the KFT event. There are allegedly banked fairways to keep balls in play at Patriot Golf Club.
So I don't know if they're like half pipes or what's going on containment mouths. What's going on? But multiple sub 60 rounds coming. Apparently, a Compliance Solutions Championship. As we get down to the last days there of the KFT, that's a great watch as those cards get online. Two to five Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I think that does it for the full range. We have the Notepad Gay Match Play event that's on right now. College event, Tuesday, Wednesday. Top 100, top 100 call. Top 400, I don't believe is involved. Sadly. Creatine is one of the most researched and effective supplements available. But as the category has exploded, most brands have focused on flavors, formats and marketing instead of actually making the creatine itself better. That's why momentous created signature spec creatine.
Their most advanced creatine ever. Setting a new standard for creatine quality. Intest signature spec creatine is one of the only creatines we manufacture in a pharmaceutical facility using reverse osmosis water purification and verified through an expanded six-stage testing process with four independent agencies. The momentous standard is a relentless pursuit of better and what you can always expect with momentous products. The improved product experience comes with an ultra fine powder that mixes effortlessly with no grit or clumping. I can attest to this personally. I got a big bucket of momentous creatine signature spec sent to me. I like to go smoothie almost every morning now. I've done the gummies in the past. I've been big on creatine here last four or five years. This is exploded. But I like to do the smoothie in the morning with frozen fruit, a couple of yogurt, scooper creatine, momentous. But every now and then, then I get caught on the back foot.
I don't have time to make a smoothie. I will sometimes just throw it in a glass of water, stir it up. In this ultra fine, they know clumping really quick, easy, chug the water. Maybe not the best mixing recipe, but it works. It's great. It's quick and easy. No clumping, ultra fine powder. We're going to talk ReanStated Am. We have a couple other news, LPGA stuff going on and turnover. But let's just get to the ReanStated Am. On going right now is the mid amateur. The US Mid Amateur Championship.
This is up at San Valley in the Lido. We're down as we speak to the round of 16. A handful of friends of the program, notables. ReanStated Am's are still alive. Andrew Bailey, friend of the program, still going. The crunchist, Matt Vote, still there. He's in there. So this, you know, becomes the high water mark for the ReanStated Am debate. PGA tour, a form of PGA tour player, Matt Nate Smith, Stu Haggistad today. That'll be Cannon fodder. Not Captain Nathan Smith. No, no, no, the PGA tour player, Nate Smith. The AmateurGolf.com has been doing some of the running, some of the numbers on this. And what great follow for all Amateur golf, 27 to 64 former pros in the US Mid Am bracket. That's the bracket alone, not the struck play field, the entirety.
27 to 64 were former pros. One of the top 16 seeds in the medalist, Bobby Masa, Masa were former pros. This on the heels of Mike Sposa with the whatever 400 some starts, winning the senior Am. And just all around peak ReanStated Am discourse over the last two to three years. Colt knows joining the fray and the whole thing. We brought in Matthew Gellway himself. We're ReanStated Am Matt Gell. I'm the fraydex resident scummy ReanStated Amateur. So welcome to come take some shots from the. You have Kat, you're an LPGA, Katty from Elshelwee. But you're for the purposes of this discussion, you are a ReanStated Am. I guess scummy if we want to go that far, but you're calling. If you ask anyone on Twitter, I'm pretty scummy. Everyone's scummy on the internet these days. That's the ReanStated Am. By the way, that amateurgolf.com post on the on Instagram Nate Smith is in the comments, pretty heavily arguing with the mid-AM tournament director about the whole thing.
Fight in the comments. Oh, I love. He's telling you research. You've come in. The comments are like, I was just drinking coffee read the comments this morning. It was fantastic. What's he saying? Oh, he's just trying to fight back a little bit. I mean, I'm not trying to argue for his case here, but he did stop playing in 2013 and started a business has kids. Yada, yada, yada. But one on the corn fairy tour, like $437,000 in earnings across two tours. So Matthew, I think we know where Andy stands and I stand. What is your position on the third? Wait, can we just reiterate where I stand? I don't think so. Yeah, we're just saying you stand. I don't know. I don't think turning pro is a death sentence. Yes. Correct. But do you think earning status on the corn fairy, the challenge tour or like the Asian tour, full status on any of those tours should be the death sentence? That is when it's over. So a year, what are your love tours?
A year. Once you've reached that level of play, I think it's over. That means that you've put so much time commitment into it and it also means that like this, you've reached a professional, like you are, this is your profession once you've reached that level. What if that happens when you're like 23? That's fine. That you chose to do it. You chose to chase the dream. You chose like you chose to get the opportunity to be a step away from the PGA tour and like, I don't know if this is the case, but you know, an amateur baseball league. If you played triple A baseball, can you come play in it? How does that work? I don't know. I don't think you can. You got the SEC battle ongoing. Matthew. All right. So do we just need like a straight up, like black and light rule? If you ever played on one of those tours.
I think half the problem currently is there's no like, no one knows what the policy is. It's very like this back room, USGA, like Cloak and Dagger, Blueblazer committee, that you have no idea what goes on. It changed slightly in 2022. I think some guys can get amateur status back in like six months if they applied to certain stipulations. I think the USGA used to base it off of like time played. My idea is you kind of got to create a very clear rubric, like incorporate time played, money made, and then like whatever level tour you made and like create some kind of point system. And then once you pass a certain threshold, like you're out, like you're not coming back, you could have played, you know, 20 years of mini tour golf. That might put you over the threshold of points. And if you made, you know, a couple hundred thousand dollars, I don't know. I'm not a math wiser. I don't know how this all works. But I think if you have like, if you hit the corn fairy tour, you hit the European tour, like Andy said, touch them all you're gone. See you later. I, there's a little bit of a PR problem, I think here too for Reheans State Ames.
I'm not trying to defend everybody, but I think everyone's coming after like 10 guys. There's a lot of Reheans State guys that play that numbers in total. I think the idea of like half the field being, but also some of them are very specific. Like agree. Right. Yeah. The Nate Smiths of the world, I get started to say like you put him out. What do you do now? They already made these rules. You go back in time. I'm telling you guys, what do you do with John Peterson now that he's back? Bob, you didn't see the, yeah, exactly. Lane Barber had already applied and I guess he got the same letter that everybody else applied told. He was told 20, 29 he could come back. I mean, Blaine Barber. I want to get a player forget about it. Forget about it. The player's championship. Yeah. There's no reason to play. No offense. I'm going to be a love the guy. I think I've wrote an article about how Blaine Barber's T18 could have been a T4, you know, and that's just the nuance of golf. Like where like one thing goes wrong, it leads it blades into another hole. And that's how you turn a T19 to T4 at the players.
You should never be watching somebody at the players and then as a mid-A. I'm hitting balls on the range at the mid-A. I'm next to them. Okay. I'll ask you this question. What about, I don't mean to call them out directly by name, but what about, what do you do about Drew Kiddelsen? Who is actively playing on the grass league and has made $51,000 on the grass league and is labeled as an amateur on the website. I mean, they do this through that back end and I'll thing. So have you seen this BP? No. Go to the grass. I know it's a grass league. It's on the FJJP. Go to their website and go to the body list. And then you'll see a ton of amateur golfers with that are making $40, $50,000, $30,000 playing golf. By all means, we can't even tuck your shirt in. That's another debate. I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm not tuck, one no tuck. You know, like another aspect I've wondered about is like, eventually, like, I mean, where
do you draw the line with YouTube golfers? Yeah. Like, you're, you know, are you a YouTube golfer Andy? I know that's, I've wondered this. I don't think I, I don't think I have enough volume to be a YouTube golfer. But you make your living in golf. Yeah. I necessarily playing golf, but a little bit. Get it back on the rails. It's like, it's such a loud argument right now and everyone, like, the loudest folks of the guys like on Twitter that don't even have like a real name behind their account. And they're all the ones that like file accounts, even if they got all, got rid of all reinstate in it. I'm not going to be mean. They're probably not qualifying anyway. Sorry. I'm probably going to get attacked for that. But I'm just going to get sick. No, it's okay. I agree with this. Take because the loudest guys are the guys that aren't making it. They're like, zero handicaps that won't make it. Yeah, there are, yeah, a bunch of guys who have no chance whether there's reinstatement or not is what you're suggesting. And they're the ones that are shouting at the loudest. It's well, I think it's, I think it's bullshit. I think like, I think there are people within the circuit that think this is garbage.
They won't say it publicly though because like of sheerly the competitor angle of it is like, I don't want to acknowledge this as an issue because it might hold me back from winning a match. You're sitting. Yeah, you're speeding some psychological ground. And I get that as someone who has played in a mid-am and has never turned pro, I think it's pretty shitty. The ethos of the championship is not, I play my 10 years or 12 years of professional golf and then I go and I play mid-am golf. Yeah, it was funny. I played at Qualifier recently and there was a guy who played like in Canada like three years ago. It's like, wait a second. This feels like he's exceptionally better at golf than I am. Although I'm like maybe 10 years removed from even trying to play. It was a very failed professional golfer and that's why I turned it into a caddy by the way. But it fell to those like, man, he still feels pretty good at golf.
I feel like there needs to be a longer, obviously he seems like the USJ is wanting to address it. There was some subtle butt of the USAM that it was going to get addressed. I don't know if all those conversations went well between the group of guys. Didn't sound like it did. But I think they're finally starting to acknowledge if we've got to do something about this. I think they're going to try to find a way to address it. I don't know what happens. They fixed the golf ball before they fixed Green State and Am's. I don't know. But well, the good news is we know where the US Open is in 2015. He's been very fired up about this today. If I could just, like the internet has made the world a smaller place. I'm just like the fervor with which this debate has carried on. And the names that otherwise, like good people, like I think some of these really say, Am's are good people are not bad guys. They're all genuinely all really good people are called. It's not not ideal. This like on pal, it's not the most important issue in the world, not the biggest subject
in the world. But it is white hot as the internet has made everything the world smaller. And damn algorithms. What? It just feels like they have to act something must like you have guys being called like, like absolute dirt bags and criminals and like throw them in like really bad stuff. All by all means, Colton, I'm glad he did all this. I'm glad he basically just lit the whole thing on fire because I would never would have been a very talked about subject. I'm kind of glad he did it. I'm glad he poked in the Horde and said, maybe Fervor's own like his own self-cloud chasing or whatever. I don't want to call it that. But like, hey, I'm happy he did it. So I think it was going to finally get addressed at some point. And I don't know. I don't know if the USGA wants to take their time to have to sit down and create some in-depth process and use their precious resources to like have a team of a reinstate of committee that evaluates every application and creates a longer wait time. But maybe what you can increase, you know, if there were about revenue, increased the
application fee that reinstate it, then maybe just have a straight up five year, 10 year band. They don't need to be out in the field, Scott and future venues. We know that. They got time that time's been taken off their table because they, but seems like something has to be done. Something's currently ongoing. What is the best outcome? I don't know. I wonder, I wonder that unfortunate outcome is like the Masters ends up taking away the made end exemption. They say, hold up. We're tired of this. And they pull the rug on the whole thing. Not that that changes the whole outlook of the US, made end by any means. But I could see that happening if the USGA doesn't step up potentially. But that's a stick. That's hard power right there. I mean, it's always like an alleged invitation, right? Like it's supposed to be done. But what do they say? Like, hey, we don't, we don't like this anymore. And we're going to take it away. Yeah. I mean, there is going to come. There is an element of this that the USGA makes us, that like an insignificant amount of revenue from reinstating people because there's a reinstatement application fee.
Oh, come on. 200 bucks. Come on. I mean, there's like six, six, eight hundred a year, eight hundred a year. It's not nothing. I mean, they also take their seven, seven thousand entries for the US mid-Amp to it. Two hundred of hop, right? So I mean, that's like what million and a half bucks. I hate to even bring that up, but it's a part of the whole conversation. I mean, put that, yeah. Sorry, go ahead, Brent. Do you accept his rubric? What's your rubric? Put that out there again. Certain about what's the combination of actors? You time, money made, and like level of tour made. So like you're, like you made like a challenge tour that adds a multiplier to all your points. And if you crash a total points list, like you're out of here. So if like you played on a mini tour, but you played, you know, let's go, your Eric Cole down there in the minor league tour and you crushed and made a hundred fifty thousand dollars over like 20 years on the minor league tour. Like you're out too. Like you crossed, you crossed it on a time basis versus I just made the play to the PJ tour for one year when I was 23.
But I think the PJ tours an automatic out. Yeah. I think having a conversation with Cole, which I thoroughly enjoyed and I like get his point of like the camaraderie thing. Hit sucks. Like you're like out. And then you can't do to go play state opens with a bunch of, you know, crazy people. I get that. I get that point. What consequences also you got you got camaraderie that we all didn't get. We didn't get to go play on tour. And I have to go state a days in and like, um, you know, you know what, South Carolina? Like I don't think that was great camaraderie. I'm going to have a dollar to my name, Andy. But I wait is my thing is it the question that I think like is like the determinant is at what level do you gain something so tangible that it's such an advantage over anybody you play that didn't get there? And to me, it's like if I play full status on a tour on like a, a O W G R accredited tour above the Americas, I think the Americas is not real really, you know, if I get, if
I get above that tour, then I'm like real, I'm a touring professional. And once I'm a touring professional, I'm out. What have you missed every cut? Like what have you just stuck? Well, you got there. They just don't hand them out. Yeah, I know. I know. You missed the cut that you got competitive reps for a good, if you have a good time break from playing those days, I don't think I'm quite the golfer that I was maybe 10, 15 years ago. But um, that does leave you at some point. I get nervous as heck playing, you know, competitive events now. It's kind of like it's still there. I mean, I, I've loved a 50 yard pitch shot in a big FFGA championship recently and lost in a playoffs. So here I am. As Fred Perpall would always say, governance is not hard. Nobody wants, or governance is not easy. Governance is hard. Nobody wants to like, like wake up and do governance all the time. But isn't that their job? Yeah. Do you, G A just finds itself often in these really gray areas where, where they should,
they could apply a little bit more black and white. Um, I think it got to a point where they didn't, they let it go for so long. And it's like, oh, it's so bad now. Like, oh crap, what do we do? It's like, we're at the set. We're at the set. And here, yeah, the NIL situation kind of like, it muddied the whole thing. It's, it's blurry and all ends now. Uh, do we, do we have us, do we have a correction here in the next, how long? I think it may be here. I would have, I sounded like something might have come this week. I was waiting for some kind of like announcement, but it sounds like they're, they still don't have their ducks in row and that, you know, that amateur, you know, committee or whatever they call it. Okay. Well, Matthew, anything else? I reinstated him. Thank you. I'm not that scummy. I'm still a nice guy. So I mean, I didn't make it to the PJ tours. I guess I'm safe. Who's your pick to click the rest of the way? I mean, I hope, you know, trying to get this scoring here. If Christian could turn around as Matt, Christian Cavalary, I'm looking at this, it's cool story. This Matt Hudgeons kid. He's two up through 15 and around to 16. He's a great sand valley there. That's a cool story.
Obviously you got the Clint East, your friend and your Bailey. There's a lot of, there's some good players left. I don't think it's some, the Clint East Matt vote who say, yeah, sorry. Who's a dental coach? So he's called the Clint East here. Yeah, sorry. I don't put some in judge jokes, but yeah, like that, like the local store with the caddy, obviously being a, you know, a caddy kind of root for that kid. There's another caddy. He's down to Nate Smith. You know, Drew Kiddlesons up two up through six, you know, middle to round to 16. Now it's kind of, you got a, a good high group of guys. Andrew Bailey's pretty good, very good. I mean, Christian Cavalary pulls us mat around. He's going to be the guy to be. Yeah, BC grad Christian Cavalary. So he's so good. I have to pull these guys around the way to the, the Bridges cup. I noticed that. They're like, the fake, the fake, the fake cup. Yeah, they're so tired. They forget them. They're like, the next president, the next president writer cup, they're touting it. Matthew, thank you for joining us. Really, really appreciate it. What do you make of all the LPGA turnover in one minute or less?
I think the three alarm fire might have hit the fourth alarm Monday morning there and did tone of beach. Just sounded like after the sole high ratings, I don't bet the end's been on it. Like they have to start looking deeper at this. There's a tournament director's are out there somewhere. There's some, I think I think Craig starting to get mad and starting to show some people to the door. It seems like a maybe best off sole high. There was like that just yeah, trying to figure it all out though. Stuff, stuff so I feel like so often the LPGA news is like drama or like not great news in terms of it's always. Yeah, that's a tough part too. So the way that could be grumbles we shall see. It's a great product to sell some of those are boys. We're going to go grumbling off the grumbling off the air right now. Infrastructure issues cause this short episode. All right, Matthew, thank you for joining us. We can read you and use letter on Friday dot com. Andy, enjoy your Wednesday. We'll be back with you guys on Friday.
