So Taylor Swift released some new music today. Once you released four more songs for The Life of a Showgirl, which is now The Life of a Showgirl, The Encore, which is the Deluxe album, which is like the fifth or sixth different variant of this album. And unfortunately, I think it's come to a time where I can say this. That this is the end of an era in pop music, where Taylor Swift is no longer our best. Taylor Swift has over the last five years, really since releasing folklore, not made a good album. Not one of these is a good album. Midnight's was good-ish. Tortured poets department got worse.
Life of a showgirl got worse from there. Her writing is no longer in a place to where she can articulate love in an interesting way. Something that she writes about Travis Kelsey feels like she's writing from the perspective of someone who just wants you to know she's in love, not able to explain the intricacies of that love anymore. These songs are boring. The melodies are boring. Unfortunately, the best compliment I can give is that one of the songs has a pretty catchy chorus. But guys, I think this is the end of an era. Taylor Swift is no longer one of our great songwriters. She's no longer one of our great artists, but it's always worth celebrating something that you once had. It's always worth saying goodbye to something that was beautiful. And 15 years of Taylor Swift's music being at the top of the charts was great. Being one of the great songwriters, it was spectacular.
And folks, I think that's worth a toast. With a toast is presented by Cuervo. Keep it fun. Keep it Cuervo. Taylor, we look forward to a second era of your great artistry coming back someday. I'll be honest, other than where the toast brought you by Cuervo, all I heard from you was pumpkin spice. Does everything you just said turn like pumpkin spice? Yeah, the pumpkin spice lovers want better from Taylor Swift. I'm drinking pumpkin spice right now. I'm actively drinking it, which means I have the credentials to tell you about Taylor Swift's music. I have a theory that when you're in a loving, stable relationship as an artist, that's when your worst art comes out. Yeah, this is honestly, it reminds me there's a decade and not to even dig myself deeper as a white guy in sports, but there's about a decade of Bruce Springsteen that's not good. And it's from born in the USA where he gets rich and famous in the height of his success and gets married and is in what ends up being a four year long marriage before getting divorced. That's not what I'm predicting here, but it's a four year long marriage.
He releases three or four studio albums that have a few good songs on them. The biggest of fans will go, oh no, but that's a good song. No, I like the life of a show girl. But ultimately, these are bad albums until eventually coming back and reaching a space in adulthood of, hey, I'm going to start writing about books that I've read. I'm going to start writing about current events. No, but that's how it worked for Springsteen. I'm telling you. That's what Taylor Swift needs to do. Let's see. Hey, get in the classroom. Start reading some classes. No, no, no, listen to me. Listen to me. You want to make art. You have to be home life. That's fact, right? Take a look at Adele. Adele was in a relationship and then she broke up and she gave us a banger album. Then she got back in a relationship and then she got out of that relationship and once you give us another banger album. And then she got with Rich Paul and we haven't heard music since. You do the right thing. Rich Paul Cheat. No, but that's the right thing from Adele. Don't just pump out music for no reason. You know what happened with Taylor Swift? You know how many songs Taylor Swift has released since 2022?
She's released 87 songs since 2020. You got to ride that way. Since her ex-boyfriend last released an album a week before she did. It's enough. If the 1975 has released a song, how about 87 songs? It's too many. They're not that good. You have nothing left to say. There's nothing interesting to say. You know why? Because she's in two stable of a place. And a billionaire. There's nothing really. I'm telling you, you can be rich. You can be wildly rich and still be creative. Everyone thinks, oh, you have to have hardship. Like, oh, I'm broke and the start ring artists. No, no, no. You just have to have an original track. Or she does have re-release stuff. 87 original tracks. Just too many tracks. That's insane. 87 of them? Enough. We bring in the one and only Matthew Berry. Matthew, what is your take on my theory that in order to create great art, you have to have a life? I disagree. I mean, candidly, I had a great home life. And my show, Fantasy World, Happy Hour, I think,
all people call a great art. Absolutely. No, jokes aside, I certainly think some sort of trauma as a child certainly has inspired a bunch of great art. But I don't think it is a necessary. There has to have been some people that had completely happy childhoods that have also produced great art. Where are they? Point of view, Matthew Berry. I was done. Honestly, I spend most of my time deep diving on football and fantasy football and nerd stuff. And so I haven't done a deep dive on the childhoods of a bunch of people I enjoy. I mean, I will tell you, you guys know this. I'm a crazy Jimmy Buffett fan. I'm a crazy Jimmy Buffett fan. And by all accounts, Jimmy had a pretty good childhood. So there you go. You know, whether you define whether you, some people love Jimmy like I do, millions of fans. Some people don't think he's great art. So I suppose it all depends on your definition of great art. But yeah, I don't know, man, like, I'm obviously having a job. I understand the premise.
Let me put it this way. I understand the premise. I don't agree with a conclusion because I feel like you guys are all cropping on Taylor Swift. I'm a swifty. I'm a fan of Taylor Swift. I will hear no slander about Taylor Swift. Taken. That looks easy, Sid. Let's, let's, let's. You're damn right. Hit it, Roy. Hit the music. Matthew Barry. Matthew Barry. Ronnie Sikley. Ronnie Sikley. Matthew Barry's fantasy picks up delivered by Little Caesars, the official pizza response of the NFL right now scored two faves just for you with Detroit style slices and sticks for just $4.99 only at Little Caesars officially delicious Matthew. I take your word for it. I take your word for it there. Look, I don't know first off, shout out Ronnie Sikley, whose name I have not heard in a long time, but I like the fact that we're talking about Syracuse basketball legends and not my Syracuse football team, which is not good. Among the facts you need to know before week number three in fantasy football in each of
his last four starts dating back to last year Tyler Schuck has scored at least 20 fantasy points and fact over his last eight. He's had at least 17 fantasy points. Since week 10 of last year, Tyler Schuck is the fifth best quarterback in fantasy football. He's still available. 40% of Yahoo Leagues last week after Ramandri Stevenson lost a first quarter combo against the first quarter fumble against the Steelers. Travian Henderson led the Patriots backfield had a 65% snap rate. He outtouched Stevenson 16 to 5. But I will just tell you that we saw this last year where Steven sort of fumble he'd go out. Henderson would come in. He would crush and then they went right back to Ramandri Stevenson. They don't trust Travian Henderson in past protection. Don't panic on Stevenson. I have them close together, but I have Stevenson ranked ahead of Henderson here in week number three after JK Dobbins left the game last week. Jonah Coleman saw an 83% snap rate handled nine of the teams running back 10 touches. Now, Coleman's a little bit banged up. Dobbins and Harvey are back. But I'm telling you over the second half of the year, Jonah Coleman is the Broncos
running back. You are going to want to have in the 10 games. Terremick Lauren played with Marcus Mario. He's averaging a 25% target share over 11 yards for target in the games. Mario to started last season. McLean averaged over 14 fantasy points for game. I don't love McLean this week against Seattle, but overall McLean and Stefan Diggs can be just fine with Marcus Mario as long as he's the starting quarterback. By the way, through the first two games, this is a bet you will win that people will be shocked about. But the Jets leader in targets through two weeks is Ad9 Mitchell. It's not Garrett Wilson. It's not Breeze Hall. It's Ad9 Mitchell and his averaged up the target is over 14 yards. By the way, this week, he plays a lion's second area that has a lot of the stuff. The second most yards on deep passes this season. I like Mitchell as a sleeper this week through two games. Denzel Boston has a 95% route participation. He's tied for the Browns team lead with a 21% target share still available in over 50% of Yahoo leagues with Nico Collins out of the lineup last week and expected to be out of the lineup this week. Dalton Schultz targeted an over 30% of his routes.
He finished with a Texans team high 28% target share. And by the way, this week, the Texans face a Colts team that so far this year has a lot of the fourth most yards to opposing tight ends. One last one here, you hear for you. Since he entered the NFL, the pride of Syracuse, Orande Gadson, Dave Damishack, ranks third among tight ends in yards for target. And through two weeks, the Chargers rank top 10 in tight end target share with the Chargers placing David and Joku on IR. And they're announcing that Charlie Kohler is also banged up and going to miss this game against the bills where the Chargers are significant underdogs to Buffalo, give me Orande Gadson as a sleeper tight end this season and as long as in Joku and Kohler are out. We can agree on the Gadson family because Orande senior, of course, toiled at pit before his son went off to play for the queues. Matthew Barry, first of all, great thanks because I asked you a week ago, DK Metcalfe for Jalen Waddle. You said Waddle and Waddle definitely was great.
DK Metcalfe was an atrocity and I won. And so thank you for that. You mentioned Tyler Schuck and how good he's been. Do you have him ahead of Drake May? And I guess what I'm really getting at is how low are you at this point on Drake May, especially without AJ Brown? Yeah, I'm nervous about Drake May. I mean, again, he has not looked good. Losing AJ Brown was significant. He's not running as much as we would like. I still have Drake May slightly ahead of Tyler Schuck, but yeah, it's a real question. And after this week, I would not be surprised to see Schuck being ranked ahead of Drake May. I still hold out hope for, I believe in Drake May's talent, I believe in Josh McDonald's, but Schuck is for real. Schuck is for real and it's an actual question. And so it's both a testament to the struggles that May has had so far this season against tougher competition without his top wide receiver. And you know, how good Tyler Schuck has played and you know, Kellyn Moore's offense. Again, they get down big.
They throw a lot. They play at a high pace of play. The Saints do. And so yeah, I'm a Tyler Schuck believer. Matthew, that mean that you're stashing Jordan Tyson at this point because that, let's keep that in mind too, that they are hamstrung by their first round. Like Tyson hasn't touched the field yet. What if he gets back alongside Alave, he gets. Yeah, like by the way, nice use of hamstrung there. I mean, like, so I'm stashing Tyson and leagues where I have an IR spot or I have a deep enough bench where using a roster spot doesn't matter if it's a, you know, I mean, it might be another six weeks, eight weeks before we see Jordan Tyson. The other thing is I don't think they're going to rush him back because they've gotten really nice production out of Devon Bailey. The truth of the matter is, it's like they're doing well. Yes, they lost to the Lions. Like it's a big win against Baltimore. They took the Lions to overtime. Like I think if you're a New Orleans fan, I think if you're calling more, you feel pretty good about what this offense looks like so far. So I might be the youngest on the show, but I am now in my 30s. And I've reached the point where I'm genuinely trying to be more intentional about what I put
into my body. Now the problem is that supplements can get overwhelming fast. And you start looking into what you should be taking, what you shouldn't be taking, and suddenly it feels like you need an entire cabinet dedicated to bottles. Which is why I'm actually really excited to try I am eight. I am eight daily ultimate essentials combined 16 supplements and 90 ingredients across nine major organ systems into one drink. Coming for two when you're up by five switching the zone when man isn't working. Oh and building your new stadium in a state your team actually plays in sports. Some things just make sense. You know what else makes sense drinking Yeager my sir shot ice cold drinking it any other way would be like hunting on first down or letting you worse hit her that first or like going for two when you're down three with a second ago. It wouldn't make any sense. So don't let the team down when it comes to Yeager my sir drink it cold or drink it at all. Yeager my sir Dan that's cold. Freak responsibly Yeager my sir the cure 35% alcohol by volume imported by mass to Yeager my sir US white planes New York down levitar I like options. I don't like Cheeto trying to corner the market by saying we're everything. They didn't check well where where the puffy ones were the well.
I believe you're picking up what I'm laying down. This is the down levitar show. Matthew when you sound the alarm. When you sound the alarm for the chart. I mean now have you seen their upcoming schedule like I don't have it off the top my head but it's like their upcoming schedule is insane. It's like I don't have it off the top my head maybe someone can look it up. But it's at it's like it's at Buffalo this week. They have for the next five or on the road at so one home games against Denver. Yeah. Oh yeah so at Seattle like read it off. It's crazy. So at Buffalo this week at Seattle the week after that home for Denver then at actually be at Kansas City and then at the Rams. The Rams yeah and then Texas. I mean there's I can't imagine that they're going to be favored in any one of those games. I mean I suppose if the charges upset the bills if the charges look good over the next two weeks and Denver falters a little bit I could see them being favored at home against the Broncos if the next two weeks go well.
But of them that like as we sit here today I would think that they would be the underdogs in all five of their upcoming games like the idea of the charges here was that they were supposed to they were supposed to be the Raiders. They were supposed to be the Cardinals so they were two and O before they went into the stretch but now they're O and two. They they lost Kohler and Joku and so as we talked about a Gadson like from a fantasy perspective that's great. Like Gadson will get a lot more run and we like him as a past catching tight in but from an actual football perspective like and Joku and Charlie Kohler are really good blocking tight ends and that hurts an offensive line that like so far has been awful. Like Herbert's been running for his life you know and and now they're they have to play again. They have to play Buffalo on the road Seattle on the road home to Denver at the chiefs at the Rams like O and seven is not out of the realm of possibility for the Chargers. So panic was panic was last week when they lost to the Raiders. I mean and and we all like Mike McDaniel. We all thought this was going to be Justin Herbert's year but like I mean if they're O and seven does Harboss survive that?
Like they'll fire McDaniel first but I just panic should be right now. I mean they're they're significant underdogs on the road at Buffalo which by the way the bills have had ten days to prepare for this. Remember the bills were the Thursday night game last week. So ten days to prepare for a home game against the Chargers defense that's traveling across country. Um banged up and you know struggling to figure out their offensive identity. Matthew last question here for you the the Bears have had some very curious route participation curious percentages of target shares. Colston Loveland has been missing an act. Luther Burton somebody who's been a huge piece of this offensive we were told. Khalif Raymond is now their wide receiver one like what's happening in Chicago. Yeah look I I share your frustration. Um I was all in on Colston Loveland in the preseason he was my number three tight and he was he was one of my runner ups for my rider die like so. I am right there with you like I don't get it like it's crazy that last week Colston Loveland caught one ball for three receptions and it was best game of the year.
Like it was better than a zero for zero in week one. Colston Loveland is the third best tight in fantasy on his own team. Like he's he's he's not even a top three tight in he's not even a top two tight in on his own team fantasy wise through two weeks so it is mind boggling and now they've got to go into Philadelphia on Monday night with either Tyson Beijing or more likely case kingdom. So it is not great. It's been a weird one in terms of um you know the first game again Loveland's out there. Loveland actually leads the team in routes route participation. He actually leads the team in ends on targets you know in week one there was a touchdown pass that he showed of Caleb just missed him on two big throws. Um a Colston Loveland and I think if if Caleb makes those throws Loveland scores the touchdown I think the narrative is a little bit different. Um but uh yeah this is not great and so I'm. Listen this week I have Loveland at tight in 12. I think just given the state of the tight in position like you probably have to hope that they figured out and that maybe one of these back of quarterbacks is trying to look for.
A little bit more and they try to get him involved because obviously they've got to figure out some stuff also by the way the way you attack Philadelphia because their corners are so good because. Uh Mitchell and Eugene are just so awesome you try to attack the middle of the field so I do think Loveland hopefully chose some signs of life on Monday night. But yeah burdens in the 30s for me and doonsies outside my top 45. I think you'll see a heavy run game on Monday night. I think you'll see you know I think Swift is still a top 20 play because of the volume there. I probably wouldn't touch my non guy but um uh it's tough man it's for a team that almost put up 16 week one uh things have certainly changed for the bears offensively and I'm as confused as you about colston loveland but I believe in the talent I believe in Ben Johnson so I'm I am hanging tough. Uh despite all signs of the contrary. I love they don't get go ahead and play just like I'm going to be sexy or run they get me. It's Dave's Matthew Barry is a founder of fantasylife.com and the host of fantasy football happy hour Matthew Barry on Odyssey and guys he's got a new show.
He's hosting a new live weekday show on rockel called pregame with Matthew Barry. It's launching Monday Congrats Matthew on that as you know I'm a big fan of pregaming in all. Thank you very much so am I and that's that's going to be the theme of the show. The show is set in a bar and you see the backdrop behind me we have a better set than this for the uh for the rockel show but it's on the rockel channel 12 to 2pm easter in every single day but it also be obviously on demand pretty much everyone either has a rockel TV or has a smart TV that has the rockel channel and if for some reason you don't have that you can download it for free. So the show will air for free on demand um they'll be clips on the Matthew Barry YouTube channel but I appreciate it man like I'm I'm super excited about it. Like you know I'm a huge fan of what what Dan and all of you guys do do on this show and I think that if you watch this show and you enjoy this show you will see some elements. Certainly the loose vibe will carry over to pregame with Matthew Barry is it for sure an actual bar or is it a set that looks like a bar. It's a set that looks like a bar okay but I mean but we got working taps we've got working taps and everything like that I mean like it's a you know so it's sort of a hybrid if you will like.
We've got working taps there's an actual bar in it there you go I mean we also that's a bar is in yeah we have cameras on a microphone in microphones and stuff like that but as long as you're drunk for the show I just wanted to say we started with Taylor Swift you punctuated your segment with deandre Swift and I wanted to go full circle you are talking about Joan of Coleman if Derek Coleman had made the free throws in 87 Keith smart never makes the national championship winning show a thousand percent thank you Dave Derek Coleman's Miss for free throws are driving me crazy to this day. And when I met Carmelo Anthony when I met Carmelo Anthony for the first time the first things I said to him I said thank you and he said for what I said well I'm a Syracuse alum and it's thanks to you and Hachim Warwick that I no longer when they do one shining moment when they do the montage at the end of the NCAA tournament the Syracuse clip for years and years and years was Keith smart a thousand percent from Indiana hitting the hitting the baseline jumper and once Carmelo took a break from the team and Hachim Warwick blocks the ball from the cans I forget who the Kansas guy that shot the three was but was a
Chalmers I don't remember but anyway I can't it shot for sure of Warwick with that lean to to challenge the shot that's for sure and that's that's the clip that's the Syracuse clip they always show now in the montage so yeah but I agree with you Derek that would have been good that's why you're clever and smarter than I Dave that would have been a good tie to gather a thousand percent yeah Matt you buried the truth Dave how many questions about a rendez-gatson do you have I just can't believe you guys is it is your show can I just ask this very quickly and I'll and then I'll get out of here but is your show is it is it entirely a Taylor Swift hating show or you guys all anti-swift no on the balance of things where we've generally been pro Taylor Swift but that's just because it Jeremy I know they're saying they're saying that she lost her fast yeah this is me saying it's it's it's been a beautiful run of Taylor Swift dominating the pop music world but it's the end of an era it's the end of an era she's not quite at the top of her game and I look forward to seeing her get back there someday too much alright you're I don't know if I agree with that again I haven't heard the most
recent song or whatever but like the fact is is that even if it's not for you you will agree there is a massive massive amount of people that are interested in her and more specifically her music I got like 10 different alerts I got 10 different push notifications yesterday that she announced a new song not a new album not a new tour a new song like that's how insane that is like I mean think about that push notifications from major news or nothing yeah anyway I'm a tail I'm a Swiftie I'm on Taylor Swift Matt's still there I was for my whole back you buried you gotta do it again thank you Matthew Barry check out three game with you check out three game with Matthew Barry on Roku channel beginning Monday live noon to two PM Houston and also on demand and also full episode dependency for one of the hour with Matthew Barry on Odyssey thank you very much Matthew
have a good week appreciate you guys we'll see you next week all right there's more uh run to get some observations from the damn chef I love for me and Matthew Barry to go head to head in the mr. Listeron Biggie's basketball players from the 80s I think that would go on for about Walter Barry Walter Barry I don't start with Walter Barry that's what Sherman Douglas still around the general I don't know Mike Mike was still open yes you are you're sad all right pearl Washington easy and picking out we're trash exactly all right get out of here Matthew Barry yeah get out of here all right get me out of here goodbye guys hi he's a glorious goore I I lost my I don't like to reveal this but but we're trying to get into like all right let's get Matthew started with
with the actual fantasy advice and Dave damage that comes in with Ronnie cycling I bet Ronnie's cycle he had a good child I could even I could even read the script I couldn't even TMR we hit the image again a run day get to go with the image now that's the thing about Ronnie cycling was that he was Greek and so he learned to speak English I think I don't think he actually learned to speak English until he got stateside but he was in New York so he has a Greek accent but also a New York accent when he speaks English which is the best I thought he's Lebanese that might be so but I think you're able to agree that's great had a good childhood that's for sure great childhood that's great he was born in Barut Barut Barut Barut at the age of 14 is when he moved to Athens
so it's a little bit of both they haven't is that enough Ronnie cycling stuff for Dave Damage check I guess it is I just wanted to say on behalf of me and Roy we both have always known that Taylor Swift is fine but Beyonce is better right Roy that's correct sir do you know what Ronnie cycling's career high in rebounds is for a single game it's a lot yeah he had like one epic game it was 34 yeah it's crazy what Ronnie cycling was like a good player he was a glass eater man the idea that he he is more famous as a DJ than he was as a player it's kind of in thing did he also date Madonna or is that just John Sally I think everyone did know what I know Brian sure they did I dated Madonna 90s everyone dated you did that's what it was I was too young just one of those things my dad did though they probably did man he was the heat career franchise leader and rebounds until bam just passed like he was that great when he was done this wasn't ahead of no what rebounds what what you don't this was here for 20 years I done challenge that can't be
right I'm with one year the last seven it was double doubles it was double doubles it was double doubles yeah bam double doubles not just bam's about to pass you don't do it the Miami Heat they play across the street yeah just say it this is what I let you yeah that's it yeah it was double doubles I did the hit on it and everything guys the NBA has given us one of the great talking points that's coming up there's a gambling segment they were about to do right here everybody needs to fade everything come November because Stephen Adams I don't know if you saw this Stephen Adams they had media day for the rockets because they're playing overseas as Stephen Adams said every player is gonna have a bad November because GTA 6 comes out and the irony is as we got the clip let's the figure listen you guys should anticipate November the performance of the league
league wide GTA is dropping so look at NFL looking at all the leagues and watch them plummet right just for the month of November performance is gonna go down it should come back up though most of the boys will get it done but hopefully they finish game coaching as well by the way the coaching scouts are gonna be horrendous but just for November but it should bounce back into similar hopefully should be good the irony is I was sitting on my couch going through my PlayStation gun going through the games and you got the ad gta 6 you know do the pre-download or whatever and I thought to myself man like I'm gonna be so unproductive in November like 1000 what he's saying it never occurred to me that this would like impact other people I just thought I'm just gonna be the who's sitting around playing detail time you're gonna play the game first because I whenever those open world games come out I don't even care about the games I just want to you know explore you don't want oh you got to see I tell you why you got to do the missions you got to do the missions because
that's how you get all the cool stuff I just want my guy to go out there and goon what just goon nah man this one I killed time I want to like pop up to a flan again and then just do I get touch students in the game I just want to do what I usually do but through a video game it was wild the other day because they put the welcome device to be signed on top of Cassais Center I think it was like Monday or Tuesday this week I was walking to the parking garage and I saw a helicopter just hovering over the state the arena and I was just like what in the world is going on and that's what's going on I assume in the game on Cassais Center you'll see welcome device city yeah possibly yeah that's like I just it's so incredible how much time they've spent like mapping out this city because they want it to look exactly like real life Miami there's something crazy about this first of all the idea that it went from loosely based on cities like Liberty City and Los Santos or whatever
to oh no it's going to be down to like you go down the corner there's the L. Sir and and who man who knows maybe Daniel being it in a convertible right I'm an ally I love I love GTA man and I and you know what I'm one of those people I don't like GTA online play you know some people go out and they do all this like I'm like I don't want to I'm with Mike I want to walk around the city punch the occasional person in the face I love that move when I wasn't that but now now they say like like they've they're tightening up on that so if you do that everyone around you starts to react no they just run it's usually they just start running away trying to cause the scene they're gonna get their phone out yeah the new the new one the new one they're going to be there they're gonna be like oh my god this guy just ran by going yeah that's what I'm going for like it used to be they would just run away and how it's known there's like this things are going to happen when you do that chain yes I love a chain reaction I would just play as soon as the game would start
I would hit the code for the helicopter helicopter just a few years out of nowhere all right let's go for a little ride yeah go to a top of the building and start picking people off I I when red dead redemption two came out I had a cubicle in the studios in in LA and I literally brought my PlayStation and I left it in the cubicle and daily I would go I would do the jump I would do sports nation and then when I was done like around two o'clock or whatever from two o'clock to like eight I'd just be in my cubicle playing like it would get dark the lights would go out and people I knew I was bad when I see like the stand verrett sports center about to suddenly hold I've been here a while just playing just riding around shooting people oh my god I love you know what rock star I'd like to toast you we could do a second quervo toast I'm gonna do a second quervo toast man let's do it rock star to rock star you guys make great and also to Steven Adams for being
a big east alum Tony you know that moment at a party or a tailgate where everything just sort of clicks I know well it's usually when I show up everybody goes crazy yeah you usually take all the credit for it but it's because Tony usually walks in with quervo walking like this yeah yeah yeah quervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night it has that effect on people it does you usually take the credit for it but again it's the quervo effect it's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up hooting and hollering keep it quervo keep it quervo baby before this there's this as you celebrate the game take a deeper look at its roots the people grow in the grass they've in the lots welled in the goalposts inspecting every football the hardworking people to make every Sunday possible car art is proud to outfit the crews behind the game visit car.com slash join the trades to learn more

with like the sometimes the head coach sometimes you sit down with the director basketball ops or whatever yeah ask questions whatever and so on my pit visit and obviously i know who's on their roster and so i was i sat down with their guy and i said are so like we guys think about like pros on your team and they named Sam Young the one Blair things of that nature this was after those guys this was in two this was when Stephen Adams was on the team and so they named he named like a bunch of guys that were not pros and i'm like what about what about the the big news healing kid the big kiwi i'm like oh no he's i'm like what are you talking about man what are you talking about now like this and and this is what some colleges do they try to hide players like oh this guy's not he's not he's he's a long ways away he's a project i'm like he's your best player what are you talking about guy goes lottery after that by the way yeah you can't hide him from me i know about him that's why i'm here that's why i'm here that's your pit and a number of projects as underclassman who developed in diviable at least college bigs low post guys yeah they he was a part of a run of those
by the way i have to take a hard right turn back to fantasy football and we talked about the chargers and the bills migraine at least um well will perhaps be interested in this how about the fact that we got josh alan v justin herbert no last names to be found all first names josh alan justin herbert and by the way one little nugget for you i like justin herbert's chances and fantasy at least will they win the game i don't know but the bills have been crummy low key against the past and i think that harba and otherwise realize we're trying to be a run first team but we don't have the pieces to be a run first team we have to cut justin herbert loose i think they will i think he puts up a big day the pet i don't know if they win or lose but i think he's big in fantasy you know what else is in that game Dave aronda gatson that's right oh my god i knew have you seen the size of aronda gatson's hands senior nine yeah his hands it's uh yeah is a stuff of legend when
aronda played down here for the mimey dolphin right and i've i've had the the pleasure of shaking those hands it's a mitt right yeah it's a catcher's man it's crazy it's a first basement i hate that i hate shaking someone's hand like i big hands because it just engulfs your hand and i and then i i don't know where i go from here yeah it's two tablets it it's the size of an ipad how can i look my children and eyes after my hand has been swallowed by handmarked yeah just girthy i don't know i like it and disappeared they got a fist bump right like like if you honest comes i'm not dappin i do it up we got fist bump when i talk to bobby portis i mean his dap double is like oh my bad fam that's that man like there's no way to walk away and feel like yeah i'm okay it's fine on a dab it's just not with a handshake no on a dab you feel it because you when you interlock the fingers and do one of these you feel like where your hand is on his head you're like whoa but that's not as bad as a handshake it's it's the more reasonable way to get away with it like
that you just have to present from there at the beginning did it was wild germy how my manslaughter is more of the vehicular variety just just how long does it take for you or did it take for you to transition from handshake to dab with a new player oh that's a great question um because you know the first time you meet him you don't you're not dappin no not immediately yeah that's it that's a great question i think it depends on the player it depends on their demeanor like i want to meet them where they're at to new it's a new player i'm saying new brand new players they handshake right away like from the jump it's a handshake off the bat okay like that's the first first time but it depends on how many conversations we have have i had a more uh off the record conversation where we just kind of get to know each other have i had them on a podcast uh-huh as opposed to just meeting them on the broadcast this is yeah no but that's my point is that's how you start breaking down those balls because once i've had a conversation that's more than the three
questions on the court and we're talking in either the the locker room or we're talking in the club out of space ball that we actually get to know each other like that's how you get to dab level with jayke marcy the is uh- when i do nb radio live from location like summer league they book us like a million guests all these players they come in they sit at the table we do the interview and then they leave and so for a lot of these players when they're done they're like all right thanks a lot and no shake hands and i go for the debt and i would say probably a strong 75 80 percent of time it's just a dab they know what that's one where you should but then every once in a while i get the guy who tries to give me the handshake while i'm trying to adapt and that's weird because you i'm gonna play your younger player you choose the younger players really usually the younger players right like the older player like the vets and like certainly the guys were retired that's a that man is well because they're trying the young guys are trying to be formal with you that's right they've been somebody's in their year about being being professional yep what it's hurtful is that
i bet that she has been on the side of this too is you're with some colleagues or otherwise and they get the dab and then the player turns to you and he gives you a handshake which is meant to whether they mean to or not what it indicates is he thinks i'm a square yep right that she yeah they they they sense the Jew they're like oh look at this i'm gonna I'm gonna give him a regular handshake he he i'm not he's not dapable what did they said hurts my feelings when it's happened should put that one on the pool um no i ironically and this might be a giant shock to all of you i'm normally the one on the other side of that i'm the one that gets the dab while a colleague doesn't more often than not what was colleague name names i mean at both locations i think you can just make your assumptions on where that would be and depending on you jason jackson's always getting a dab jason doesn't he's getting a dab no matter where he goes okay that's j j jacks if you're nasty jason jackson j jackson if you're nasty all right they're so vanity license plate
j jacks yeah no what is that shocking view is it j jacks as a vanity plate what i see it as j jacks and s ty oh that'd be great like a long one yeah California have like emojis or not emojis but like symbols you can have a heart in your license plate in California yeah don't look at me don't you want to think over there i don't like that what else is next hearts in the license plates it's meant for numbers letters the cops know where you are if i gave you guys the gamut of snl alums and said which one of these guys you think is the best hooper who jippin wow wow though everyone all time garret morris and and for samler you say samler why no he can hoop all right so i mean that that's a great sense i would think he's he's one billhaters really tall
kazarinsky thank you you think garret morris can play basketball i'm saying like starting from like from the early days i got a feeling chevy chase can hoop i chevy chase no you don't think you can know no i think you just tall yeah if we're doing lacrosse calling jost yeah feel like chris farley was probably like michael ryan where he was a combination of prime Dennis rodman that's why i see what that's how he will say rolin play oh well two medals well barrel was his high school basketball captain but he said he averaged a point the game high point elbow elbow out there i just see what's jacquim moont yeah chris farley was a was a rugby player collegiate rugby player marco of course he was so no the answer guys is jason sedakes all the clip from all the smoke no real like my dad got me the peat marivage homework basketball tape really out of street and smith and then i miss like crazy oh wow what year high school are you 94
okay so i'm 96 then i'm eight yeah okay so i mean that was when when when jason lame you know was on the king's i would get phone calls in front store have you seen this guy playing like you no way that was i would my coaches hated me yo have you seen this guy playing like you think about all right you're saying this a walk now you can tell he's got he played he played juco so he played juco basketball have you seen this guy playing like you is a lie but well but don't think about it right you let's like you're a shooter right i've everyone knows that i did the jay wil thing in a game once it was a pickup game but it was awesome like the elbow bass yeah that's you didn't do that it's a walker i do want a walker i swear to god i did it with hola pinoes did i was did i did no no no it's when i was younger it was when jay wil was like because he was white yeah yeah so the the thing about sedacus or i'm like because he he played high school in Kansas City
and Kansas City at that time in the 90s had like a run it was a very very tough basketball competitive environment i was like Earl Watson and and and the rush brothers and all those guys came out of Kansas City at the same time and so i'm inclined to believe him like he's i've seen him me too i've seen him play the at the celebrity game was like he clearly plays back where he wears good shoes and you can tell he's got moves from the what's up with that Jason Williams yeah but he's not that he strobes it so Tony if you had never seen Jason William you call that the stranger but like you play with somebody who's flashy like that and he says it he said in the interview it's longer he says like his coaches hate him right because he would not make a regular pass he's like why would i throw a regular pass and i get yeah like everything had possessed right so you grow up with this guy you play with them and you know all that's just Jason or whatever and then one day you're watching tv and there's a rookie who's white and playing like that of course you'd be
like yeah and i got plays like he's not like oh you're as good as he is or anything like that i guess with with no social media everything was smaller you only had access to your local runs and see who was doing what so maybe i guess at that point be like hey this guy plays kind of like how you play but then like there's levels to what Jason Williams was able to do on a tour versus what no somebody else is able to do on a go like like you sure okay it just feels like a bit of a walker this guy's playing like you guys a little bit of the whole kogan cap like it's okay like i did the past once it's all right i think we're all we all have comps right like like mic's comp is what Dennis Rodman and prime Dennis prime Dennis Rodman Mitch Robbins instead of always going high point elbow elbow outlet sometimes i go high point elbow elbow Jason Williams elbow okay Chris what's your comp uh ginger Jason Caponeau shooter wow okay like pick him off you know it a little aggressive Jason Jason Caponeau has one of my favorite quotes in the history
of basketball go on so jesus Caponeau famous he was the second round pick despite going on final four what you see laying all that stuff and he said if my name was Jason Caponeau which I would have been a top five pick oh like that was like deep in the like there's rafting all the york of the chair yeah so like but but but the stranger can is when you sit on your hand and it makes it go to sleep yes but i always thought it was either or no no no both applied no no no stranger stranger is when your hand has gone numb when it's the left when you're doing your offhand yeah off hand offhand there you go really yeah what would I lie about doing the jay well thing it does really it doesn't I don't know if it feels like I'm inclined to believe you more than i am Jason today is one of the coolest things i've ever done i'm not a good basketball player you did it in game yeah the pick up man i have big hands on a good passer no way i do buy the time let's see those hands i've done the skyles uh 360 behind the back and wrap it back around and throw it to
the side you're looking at you know remember when yeah that's believable that's that's that's that's that's that's a that is a typical flashy pick up ball uh move by the way we got today because right here at the garden first shot knocks it in paused yeah well let's let's put it put on the screen look at him look at him all right now he turns the hat backwards that's how you know most important thing yeah that's how you travel travel double dribble no that's a sweet jumper that's I mean look that's not a nice jumper that's what that's not DJ Khaled that's a guy he plays basketball but some Pete also taught me but but Dave to to your point like that pass that skyles skyles skyles pass that's a typical playground move what Mike is suggesting is that in game he was coming on the break bounce elbow pass to the side number one that's 100% of turnover number two everyone on your team hates you there's no there's no hates you like someone did that on I'm not against flashiness I'm just saying like dog what are you doing what are you doing
well what are you doing what are we doing here this is the wrong context lie roll decontextualization you know who the best SNL alum is gonna be to play basketball Marcello jailam runs and he's hosting this weekend doesn't count doesn't count that's gonna be cool right doesn't count it's gonna be fun as in Jordan all right so we'll put together a team yeah that's the least your point guard week three has some massive matchups Falcons Packers on Thursday night Bengal Steelers Ravens Cowboys from Brazil and Eagles Bears on Monday night I just went to the Bill's home opener and game time helped me get in that stadium and it was one of the biggest games of the week the experience reminded me as much as I love watching football nothing compares to being in the barn that's why I use game time I can see panoramic views from my seat before I buy the price shown includes all fees so what you see is what you pay period game time also has zone deals you choose a section game time chooses a seat and you save money plus every purchase is back
