The Ticket Top 10 — The Sweet Spot- Sweet Sounds & Observations from Houston. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
We Sounds an alteration Sweet Sounds an alteration We That's right! It's a victory Monday. It's the sweet spot. Sean Bass, me, David Mino. We will have stars and sharks. On the ticket tonight. Maclin, Celebrini, coming to town. I'll be in attendance tonight to try to get the stars our first win of the season. We need it. Yeah. Must win. Must win. Can't go o and three. Gotta have it tonight. Taves to go o and three don't make the playoffs. Like an NFL. Yeah, we don't want to be the Houston Texans. We don't want to be looking at o and four after tonight. So we'll turn it around. We'll be all right. But let's do some sweet sounds and observations here as it was the noon game yesterday on Fox. We had underwater Kenny Albert. We had Greg Olson. I'm a big fan of we both are and Pam Oliver. Yeah.
Still. Yeah. Indeed. I didn't know she was still working this year. I thought she was going to retire after last year. They made no big announcement. We would have probably that would have pinged on our radar at some point. But because Joe Davis is off doing baseball playoffs. You had to shuffle around a little bit. I know Adam and me and Joe Davis are doing playoff games on Fox. So you're getting some slightly different chemistry and booths. And we'll get there with Kenny Albert and third late Greg. But observations real quick. Yeah. Justin you and I had a good laugh yesterday in the first half when Ryan full and OECAT his first first down of the day. And he points the wrong way with both arms that he has a turn himself around my bad. The only thing to be more embarrassing is if you had like a third and real long and you celebrated a first down at the original down marker. Yeah. I don't know. I would ever do that. I got that yardage back. Oh wait. Might have did that one time at high school. It happens. We still we won the game though. It's fine. My coach was not happy. The Texans have a good mascot. They're bull named Toro. Pretty funny is as I'm looking down as a Aubrey's
making an extra point. He's just shaking his ass. I'm guessing George probably had a pretty good laugh at that. We can ask him tomorrow. Houston does their mascot. Right. As much as we don't like their city orbit. Is a really good mascot with the Astros. It seems like the Texans for is anonymous as a franchise as that is they've got themselves a decent little mascot going. And you knew the Fox producers would just play as much Texas music. Just to set the scene. Again, these two teams have played eight times ever. It's not like there's some big rival, but they were trying to really play up the Texas angle, which of course you knew they were going to do. But you're right about Pam Oliver. It's probably been time for a couple of years. And I understand that she has dealt with migraines and that's her excuse for sounding the way she does. And I don't know if she was dealing with a migraine yesterday. But if you're the producers of this broadcast, you need to give us some sort of warning before you go to break because right when they came back and played the big NFL, you know, the big crest thing with all the montage of players throughout the years.
The first voice you were expecting to hear was somebody from the booth, but instead it was Pam. Fox Sports welcomes you to the following presentation of the National Football League. Welcome back to Houston. I'm Pam Oliver. Well, the Cowboys could not be more enamored with their new defensive star. At those Brian Shottenheimer. He loves Joey Porter Jr. size and physicality. He said he can absolutely erase people. There's so many. It just makes me sad. I like reporters that would love to have that job on the Fox B or C team. And she's been at Fox since 94 right since they started doing NFL football. She used to be their 18 or 18 who took her job. She can just, and she's 65. She's had a long successful career. Now the past 10 years have been little, little off.
It's kind of retire. It's time every broadcast of hers is like the Roma arrest video. We've all run into that woman at the bar before we're just like, okay, okay, I got I got to go. I don't know what you're saying. We'll get back to Pam. Let's see if things get better mid game. But let's go to Kenny and Kenny Albert. He's good. He's really good at hockey. He's a guy. He does have a voice that Gordo makes fun of. And you know, the underwater thing makes me laugh. But I think and again, I'm not totally sure about what happens here, but it sure sounds like he dealt with some bubble voice at one point in the first quarter. Hamdoth. It's Williams. Cut off the Murray, the former cowboy made the tackle elevator from the practice squad. And he's wearing the green dot. He's the simple caller for the Texans today. Is that just me? No, I hear it. Or is that just how he talks? Yeah, the problem is he's always kind of bubbly. Yeah, but I was kind of on the router.
But if you listen to the highlight, it sounds like him announcing and then he gets a little Mr. Phil. The former cowboy made the tackle elevator from the practice squad. And he's wearing the green dot. He's the simple caller for the Texans today. Yeah, sigma caller definitely a little bit of helium. I think he's always trying to do an announcer voice. And it's very it's very in his throat. Yes. And when it he might get into it a little bit too much and that causes the causes the throat bubble. Well, it happened again in the fourth quarter to Kenny more bubble voice. This is complete. CD Lab with his 13th reception. Magic his career high in one game and we hit the two minute warning. He was about to tell me about a Scott Bale after school special. I felt like yeah, Greg had to hold him down so he would fly away. Okay, glad it was just me. No, that's definitely there. I wanted to share with the class.
The big parabolic mics on each sideline. I thought were extra sensitive during yesterday's telecast and Elijah Clark, who wears number 11 was able to make a tackle. And he sounds like an insane clown here. This is. And he is done. This time. Well, the start of last season, the big tree. Jumped up and down. The quick. He is. I like Elijah Clark more now. See, his is insane laugh. And he is. This time. Well, the start of last season, the big tree. Well, daffy duck. Yeah. All right. So Pam Oliver had a really rough go in her first report, but at times it's weird. Every now and again, they throw it down to her and she sounds a little better. Maybe she has to knock a little rust off. I don't know what.
But I think it's just a little bit more. I think it's just a little bit more. And then he's. After halftime her third quarter hits. And let's see if Pam sounds any better. First down, get a five, let's check your little Pam. And they're penny and talking to Brian, Joe and Heimer. He was not all that distraught about the cowboy's defense. And back he found some positives. And I feel overall they settled down offensively, meeting on the city and George major. Thanks Pam. We get a jotting Heimer in there. I, I, a penny. Man, I like you. That's rough, dude. You don't kiss me. It's time, man. If there's a penny, you get you something to eat. A pig's not. Brian, jotting Heimer. Well, let's not ignore third leg Greg who, when we saw him, he was calling the game. We were all very happy because he's a great analyst. Yeah.
He's awesome. However, there is one small thing that gets me is he doesn't always pronounce the end of words that have the letter T. He has EAT. Yeah, it's a very soft T. Sometimes it's completely absent. And this is about a 12, 13 second cut where there's three different words that end in T. And I think two, maybe even three, he doesn't pop T at all. Take a look. How would you like to be Dak Prescott here? Foreman rush. And there's just nowhere to throw the ball. Look at this. I mean, they do a nice job trying to keep them crowd in the pocket. And once he starts retreating back, which is can't get enough on that ball. And give him a shot. So we have Prescott. Prescott. Prescott. And then we have shot. Shot. Yeah, you hear it a lot with. If he's when Gaiten was bad and they would have to talk about Tyler Gaiten indeed or Craten. I wouldn't do you think that's a regional type thing. He's from New Jersey. I wonder if there's some Jersey type.
I don't know. It's a great question. He also tried to tell us where the ball was spotted yesterday. But you can cause that much chaos with only rushing for. They have not blitzed Dak Prescott one time so far today that they've been very effective moving them off his spot. I'm going to get a bit third down. Stop. Off the relaxing day of the spot. Trying to say spaghetti. I don't know. Off the spot. Well, it was forced chemistry because again, Joe Davis was calling baseball. So you had Kenny Albert and Greg Olson having to call. I don't know if they've called many games together at all. Well, at some point, Greg was trying to bring up a hallmark movie. And I don't think Kenny Albert had much use for that that line of discussion. We saw Kaylee, the offensive coordinator. So how many people could say they met their wife at the pro football hall of fame? Nick grew up in Cadmohyle, three miles from the hall. He was working there as an intern during his college years. She was working there as well.
The rest is history. Can't a fellow needs to make like a movie about that? That feels like an NFL hallmark collaboration. It's like you're destined to be the wife of a football coach. When you meet a guy at the hall of fame, it just feels right. Absolutely. It's sucking that in here. Absolutely. Yeah, not going to lie, Greg. That sounds like a really boring movie. And kind of just the most random note. Like, it's not that interesting. He met his wife at the hall of fame, Sarah Moni. Okay. Nick. Cool. He kept dragging it out thinking at some point Kenny was going to add something. And he just wants to call the play. He realized, all right. All right. Maybe I shouldn't have gone to this. It was just kind of a throwaway note to move on. We had a big moment in the second half. And Greg got a little physical with Kenny. And it made me laugh. Sometimes it says, simple as throwing ball up. I got in the outsides really good. And you get the chance to go make the play. Wow.
54 yard connection. Fresh God complains. There's Williams takes the hand off. That was going to touch down on the previous possession. He's brought down by Murray. I think he used to five. I think I might have broke your shoulder when he caught the. I was so incredible. I've ripped your arm out of the socket. I'm good. Man, I'll tell you, everything Dallas had struggled with in the first half. I'd like to see the camera and the booth when it happened to see how it. She's so strong. He just picked him up and start to mean. Yeah. And they're at the end. He said, I'm good. It's a great game. I'm not sure if it was a good game. It was a great game. The first. I thought he said he said he was gay. I was like, wait a minute. Oh, I mean hit like that. Let's let's hear it again. See if I hear. Guy. We are connection. Fresh God complains. There's Williams takes the hand off. That was going to touch down on the previous possession. He's brought down by Murray. And I think he used to five. I think I might have broke your shoulder when he caught the. I was so incredible. I've ripped your arm out of the socket.
I'm good. Man, I'll tell you everything. I'm good. He's gay. Also, I know Ham likes to play a saying, wow, randomly. I pulled a Kenny Albert. Wow. If you want to add that to the. The rotator there. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. All right. Well, there's another addition of sweet sounds and observations. We have Thursday night football ahead. So we'll have some Al Michaels and herbie. I don't know if we'll do sweet sounds on Friday because of our other staples. But let's just enjoy the fact that we didn't get the A team for once this week. Yeah, got some good uh good Greg Olson. Good times and and Pam. We'll still there indeed. Real sports fans. We are completely irrational. I'm not going to check my pick every five minutes. Sure. I'm not going to overreact to the first drive. Yeah, right. I'm not going to crash out in the group chat. Good luck, buddy. That's why I love having something on the line. It turns us all into complete lunatics in the best possible way. Suddenly you're rooting for a backup tie then you've never heard of because he needs 12 more yards.
