About this episode

“In this episode we're going to talk about an absolutely disgusting story coming out of Kansas. And this story has to do with a five year old girl who was kicked out of her house by her mother and who subsequently ended up in a homeless camp.”From the transcript
Five-year-old Zoey Felix was murdered in Topeka, Kansas, on October 2, 2023, after she was left alone with Mickel Cherry, a family acquaintance who had been living with Zoey, her father and her sister in a homeless encampment near a Dillons gas station. Prosecutors said Cherry raped Zoey inside a tent and then suffocated her with a pillow. Around 5:55 p.m., Zoey was found unresponsive near the gas station where her father was working, and emergency crews were unable to save her. Medical personnel documented severe injuries consistent with sexual assault, and later testing found biological evidence linking Cherry to the attack. Cherry initially gave investigators false stories about what had happened, but he eventually admitted responsibility. In December 2024, he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder committed during a felony and rape of a child under 14.

The case also became a major scandal over the warning signs that preceded Zoey’s death. Neighbors, police, teachers and child-welfare officials had repeatedly raised concerns about neglect, domestic instability, a lack of utilities and Zoey’s living conditions, and Kansas authorities had investigated the family multiple times before she was killed. Despite those interventions, Zoey ultimately wound up living in the encampment where the murder occurred. In July 2025, Cherry was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences and must serve at least 50 years before becoming eligible for parole. The murder prompted intense scrutiny of the Kansas Department for Children and Families and renewed questions about how a five-year-old who had already generated so many welfare concerns remained in such an unstable and dangerous environment.

What's up everyone and welcome back to the program. In this episode we're going to talk about an absolutely disgusting story coming out of Kansas. And this story has to do with a five year old girl who was kicked out of her house by her mother and who subsequently ended up in a homeless camp. At this homeless camp she was not only brutally assaulted but she was murdered and this all comes after a child protective services had been called out to this house where this mother and this child previously lived numerous times and like in so many stories previously CPS failed. And this is an ongoing theme with child protective services throughout the country. How many children that end up in their care end up going missing or end up having something happen to them or they get home with some degenerate lunatic who's molesting them. And no matter how many of these reports are out there, no matter how many of those reports

are proved to be true, nothing ever changes. And CPS overall continues to be a failure. And while obviously the blame of this goes on to the shoulders of the man who killed this little girl, I would say that CPS has to shoulder some of this blame as well for not doing their job correctly. Today's article is from the messenger and the headline. Five year old Kansas girl was kicked out of house by mom before she was raped and murdered. Everybody loves Zoe except for her parents. The neighbors routinely call police and child protective services, but as far as they could see, the young girls living conditions never improved. So if CPS has to be called out to somebody's house all these times, how is it that that child isn't removed from that situation? And furthermore, who's the one who made the decision not to remove this child? This article was authored by Nick Gallagher. The mother of a five year old girl in Topeka, Kansas reportedly kicked her daughter and

other family members out of their dilapidated home weeks before the young girl was brutally raped and murdered at a nearby homeless encampment. First of all, how do you kick your daughter out of your house at five years old? Second of all, how the hell have we fallen so far as the society that a five year old girl ends up in a homeless encampment? I guess two Pock was right back in the day, huh? We got money for war, but we can't feed the poor. Got people out here in camps, got people out here killing five year old girls walking around like zombies, but sure, let's pump more money all around the world into a bunch of conflicts that really have nothing to do with us. Because that's a great idea. I mean, if everything was just fantastic here at home, then great, but we have our own problems here in America that are not being addressed, and in fact they're being ignored. And the more they're ignored and the more they're swept to the side, the more stuff like this is going to occur. Michael Cherry, spelled Michael, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion that he murdered

and sexually assaulted Zoe Felix. They are believed to have lived in the same home, along with Zoe's father, mother, and teenage half sister, the Topeka Capital Journal reported. The group relocated to a nearby campsite after Zoe's mother, Holly Jo Felix, 36, reportedly expelled them about two weeks ago. Imagine this vile disgusting scoffoosa throwing her little five year old daughter out. What should happen is whoever is renting her that house or apartment or whatever, they should throw her out and she should have to go live at that encampment now. Either that or she should be arrested for neglect and a whole bunch of other shit. Neighbors said the home frequently had no heating AC or running water and that the floors were littered with dog feces. Zoe was often left to wander the neighborhood or navigate the house's unsafe conditions alone. I can't even express how much disgust and anger and sadness I have for this little girl.

Imagine this little innocent kid five years old and this is the situation that she has to live in right here in the good old United States of America and it's not like it was some secret. CPS knew what was going on. They were called out to this house numerous times according to these reports. Did they do anything to help her? No. Her mother failed and we unfortunately as a society failed as well. Those who live nearby told Kansas City's KC TV they knew Zoe wasn't being properly cared for and had routinely called police and child protective services. But as far as they could see the young girls living conditions never improved. Some offered the girl food and clothes when they could. Zoe has been on her own the entire time. Neighbour Sharon Williams told the outlet, I'm trying not to cry said Shanique with Bradley another nearby resident. I've honestly been sick. It's disgusting. And I'll tell you what the helicopter ride to the volcano.

Well that's too good for this dude. He should be taken apart piece by piece instead. Holly Felix is currently on probation for aggravated battery stemming from an incident last year. She's convicted of causing great bodily harm against a victim referred to in documents as ZF with a 2018 birthday, presumably her daughter Zoe. So she was beating this girl and she still has custody of her way to go CPS who's in charge over there and how come there's never any accountability Jeffrey Epstein dies in custody that no big deal. We'll just put out an OIG report. This happens here with this little girl. No big deal. You know she just slipped through the system. It's nobody's fault. I call bullshit on that. And I really hope that the CPS division is held accountable here for their role in this. If they've been called out multiple times and they never did anything to help this little girl and this is how she ends up, you mean to tell me that nobody should be held accountable

over at CPS? In the same case, she pleaded guilty to driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle, other charges including two for domestic battery and one for criminal restraint were reportedly dismissed at the time. See if somebody like this, I wouldn't dismiss any charges ever against them. I would hit them with every charge possible. That way all the charges piled up and then when she got enough charges and she screwed up enough times, I could put her behind bars for a bunch of years. I've had enough of people like this. How much more clear do I need to be? In any of these DAs out there that are letting violent criminals out without bail without any kind of accountability, I hope that these victims families start suing these district attorneys and we'll see what's what then. She was previously convicted of possessing stolen property and domestic battery in Nevada and was at one point barred from having contact with Zoe's father as a quill Felix Guerrero

as well as another victim believed to be Zoe's half sister per the Capitol Journal. Officers with the Topeka Police Department responded to a medical call near a gas station around 6 p.m. Monday and found the firefighters trying to save Zoe. She was reportedly discovered in a field near the homeless encampment where she and Cherry had been living. Zoe was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. A stuffed animal backpack and pink hairbrush were found inside the tent and I'm trying to keep my rage in check here but the man responsible for this, this Michael or Michael whatever his name is, I'd love 15 minutes with them. 15 unsupervised minutes where I would not get in trouble for whatever would happen and I promise you he'd feel it every last minute of it, he'd feel it and then when he thought it was over that's when it would all start again. Somebody like this truly is evil and they have zero place amongst us.

Anyone who looks at a little child and has these sorts of thoughts, has these sorts of plans is somebody that does not deserve to breathe one more breath of air and that's just how I feel. Although Cherry and Zoe had apparently lived with each other at various points the nature of their relationship remains unclear. There's visited Zoe's home in September of 2022. Although there was no power at the time they left her in the care of her family because she was in good spirits and the parent health according to police reports obtained by KC TV breaking news if there's no running water, if there's no electricity, if there's no power, she's not in good health. Take that child from that home. Are you kidding me right now? The owner of the home, Angela Massingill, who lives at a different residence in Topeka told the Topeka Capitol Journal that she had recently begun to clean the exterior of the property after the city notified her about its condition. The city had to notify you, you don't go and show up and check on your property as a

landlord, make sure that your residents are good and the rest of it. We're on from in New York, we call that a slum lord. No complaints of traffic or illegal tenants were brought to my attention previously she said. Relatives including Holly Felix's cousin, Brandy Sutcliffe, McCartle said they had no idea that Zoe wasn't being cared for. Any one of us would have jumped at the chance to take this little girl in and provide her a home, she said. A GoFundMe campaign is reportedly organized by Sutcliffe McCartle's brother describes Zoe as a sweet, funny, goofy little girl who had a great smile and laugh that lit up the world. Cherry was arrested on suspicion of murder and rape of a victim younger than 14 and booked into the Shawnee County jail. His bond is set at $4 million and will next appear in court on December 21. Everybody on the block to Cara Zoe. Cheryl Tyree a neighbor told the Capitol Journal, everybody loves Zoe except your parents.

Yo, that shit hits me in a different place folks. You know, we read a lot of horrible stuff here, but I was very hesitant to even add this story to the catalog because I knew how damn agitated I'd be after reading it. But this poor little girl deserves to be remembered and the piece of shit who did this deserves to be taken apart piece by piece right along with her scoffoosa ass mother.
