Breaking Beauty Podcast — The #DamnGood Fall 2026 Products We Can't Stop Talking About. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
The following podcast is a deer media production. Welcome to Breaking Beauty, the podcast all about the breakthrough people, products, and moments in beauty. We're your host, Jill Dunn, and Carleen Higgins. Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Breaking Beauty podcast. It's officially fall now. So we are in your feeds with a hashtag damn good episode that's all about fall, must haves. I am Jill Dunn, one of your co-hosts. I'm here with my friend and colleague for nine years, Carleen Higgins. Hello. Yes, so we are former beauty editors, turned beauty podcasters in your feed every single Wednesday with the breakthrough people, products, and moments in beauty. And as Jill said once a month, we do our hashtag damn goods episodes where we review products of the month and fall is always so exciting because there are so many launches.
So in today's episode, we're going to be talking about some of the biggest, busiest launches of the season. There are complexion launches galore, Hong Van Gogh, Jones Road Beauty, Lisa L. Dridge. We're also going to be talking about some skincare, of course. We know so many of you tune in for our skincare reviews. And so with that, let's dive in Carleen. All right. So I think we should start with complexion because honestly, you would said to me, you're like, I think maybe we just do a foundation or complexion episode, like another one. And we just did one in the spring. We'll link to it in our show notes guys. But because there just have been so many. So I think we have to start there. What have you been trying? So I tried the now kind of infamous, I would say, Jones Road Beauty, Why to Wake, Brighton and Concealer, 32 US dollars and 46 dollars in Canada. It is a little pot concealer. And some of you may remember when Bobby Brown, name drop, was on our show about a year ago and she talked about how she was working on a new concealer.
And many of you also may be familiar with the pencil that she had. She had the ceiling face stick pencil. Yes, I do remember I like that product. And a lot of makeup artists have recommended that it's good for sketching on just adding a chunky pencil versus the Lisa Eldridge then one. Yes, exactly. So this particular concealer is solving a different problem. A lot of people found that one drying. Yeah, I would say it's a bit matte. So this is really meant for as the name indicates, Why to Wake, it's for underneath the eyes. They also have a line of neutralizers. So there is so you can color correcting. Yeah. And you can also can seal on top of that. I tried the corrector. That's not necessarily my big, as I say, bug a boo. My thing is about the bags and trying to like make those look a little less puffy and just might bring a little more lightness or why to wakeness underneath the eyes. So I love this formula. She ate with this. I think it's fantastic.
And I have to tell everybody I went to the Jones Road store to properly get shade matched. And I was telling you about my experience in there. And it was like, it was so joyous. Yeah. It was really fascinating. Like girl bonding time between the customers and the artists. And you can get makeup lessons in there. Everything there. I love that. I thought it was fantastic. Yeah. Well, when we talked to Bobby last year, I think it was about a year ago. We will we will link to that episode in our show notes as well. But she was talking about retail and the power of retail, which is a really tough not to crack. We know this. This is the land of DTC. And I think it's really to me, Bobby Brown's knowledge and experience. And her hands on like, I want to help women. I want I'm not going to be intimidating. I'm not about that. I'm not a gatekeeper. This isn't about just like looking as cool as humanly possible. It's really more about women leaning in for women.
And I feel like what you described, because Jill told me this story about like this woman who's like getting her makeup lesson. And then she's like, I'm going to go get my dress. And then I'll come back so you can see the final look. And everybody's clapping. Yeah. She came back in the store and everyone's like owing and awing over. Yeah. How she transformed it was like a makeover. But she made the point to come back to the store to show her artists. And I was like, what is even happening? It reminds me of like old school department store from like the way way back in like the 80s. And I feel like that human connection. It's just so lovely. It makes sense for the demographic. Bobby Brown is catering to kind of pushing to. And you know, it's unfortunate that she will have to change the name. Yeah. Because that's going to cost a lot of money. So this has been a little dust up in the last few days has little little gen X dust up between. Between Molly Sims and Bobby Brown and just in case you missed it. Molly Sims went on Instagram, took to TikTok and said she didn't name them.
But she's like, there is a brand that I really love. I use a lot of the products. And they came out with a product with the same name as my Andrei product. She's like, we have five people in the marketing department. We work so hard. And this big brand came in and Yariada. And Bobby Brown responded with a notice on her Instagram saying this was not deliberate. This was accidental, which I fully, fully believe. And since then, as I understand it, Molly has taken down her post. They spoke. And again, Bobby did the right thing and said, my bad. But we will change the name, but that is a big whoops. Like that is a, that's going to be very costly. All the SEO. She's missing out on all of that, but she's doing the right thing. No, ultimate respect. I would argue they just both had the best marketing of their entire lives. No, honestly, they just made it. Yeah. They honest to God should collab. Yeah. Molly should be in the next Jones Road beauty ad and vice versa.
Or just like it would. This is the era we are living in. And the thing that the impression I got from Bobby, when I saw this go down on social media, she's going to make it right. Yeah. Because when we interviewed her, she was discussing her memoir and there was no mud slinging in that book. That's just not her style. It's not. I got the, you know, she's going to take the high road and she's going to make stuff right. She's a classy lady. But you can still buy this product by the name that I've called it today. And these things take time. Yeah, exactly. And they worked it out. Yeah, exactly. Love to see it. Yeah. Yeah. Medicaid is one of our show partners this week. We all want to be on a retinol journey that we don't want to quit. And the reality is so many of us start and stop, start and stop because you get in this vicious cycle of putting the retinol on and then you peel and you flake and you just are like, I can't even deal with this. But if you're like me and you're in the fall mode to sort of reset and get your skin care
back on track, I want to invite you to try out the Medicaid crystal retinol. And you'll notice that I say retinol. That's R-E-T-I-N-A-L. And that's because Medicaid's crystal retinol, it's actually formulated using retinol to hide, which works up to 11 times faster than standard retinol. So it is proven to smooth stubborn wrinkles, de-conjust and firmer skin without any of that irritation that you might expect from traditional retinols. And I personally love the crystal retinol from Medicaid. I understand why it is so award-winning because what they have done is they have allowed you to ladder up to the retinol strength that you want. So you can start out with three and then they have all different versions that go up from there. So they're really thinking about the people that want to do this journey, but in baby steps. I think that's the journey that will be the most consistent and you'll get those great results. I personally love with the retinol, the number three that I've used consistently.
It's just the refinement of the texture of your skin that really starts to kind of show those bigger pores and the lines as you age and Medicaid. They're clinically proven. A dermatologist love British skincare brand and they're really known for age-defying results without compromise. And by the way, everyone Medicaid is now available both in store and online at Sephora in the US and Canada. And even better news if you want to try Medicaid's crystal retinol for yourself, we have a special promo code. Visit medicaid.us and use code breaking20 for 20% off your first order. That's MED, IK the number eight dot us. Once again visit medicaid.us and use code breaking20 for 20% off your first order. It's MED, IK the number eight dot us. We'll link to this offer in our show notes and on our website. Now back to the show. Welcome to Who's in my Glam Chair where the glam is good and the conversations are even better. I'm Alexis Oakley, a celebrity makeup artist and after 10 years in the Glam Chair, I've
learned that getting ready is when you talk about everything. Beauty, business, dating, confidence, careers and probably the things you shouldn't be saying out loud. Everything is off limits. New episodes drop every Wednesday. So grab your makeup bag, your coffee and get ready with us. This is Who's in my Glam Chair. Now while we've been in New York, you also went over to the Lisa Eldridge. Yes. Pop up shop, which I know they've extended. Sorry, assume it's doing gangbusters. It's open now until early December. It's really wonderful because there's no place to go in store, typically in the North America to see her products in person. So it's just like her whole archive come to live magazine, covers on the wall and Marilyn Monroe, memorabilia everywhere and just like images that Lisa herself has worked on and
crafted. And then there's little vanity stations where you can get your makeup done. And she hand selected every single artist that's in there. So there is a threshold. Every single one of them is a professional artist. And I think I'm sure it was rigorous process, to even work there. But I had to make my way there to try her concealer, which is the luminist concealer. So again, this is something that I'm looking for underneath the eye. I want that luminosity. And I we're going to get a comparison, apparently. Yes. How do you compare these? The Bobby Brown one certainly gives you more coverage. So this is really all about brightening under the eye. And the thing about Lisa is that she's all about these olive tones. She's really well known for that. And apparently the large majority of the population has olive undertones, but they're really left out. So she has very much zeroed in on that. But that being said, I don't have all of undertones and I found my shade no problem.
Okay. Yeah. I just didn't know that a large portion of the population has all of undertones and is being underserved. But that's great. They said 30%. Oh, okay. That's significant. She's made content about that for years on her channel. So she's really walking the walk. And so how many shades? And how much, by the way, 32 shades, 39 US dollars. Okay. And of course, it's all direct to consumers. So based on where you live, it will be adjusted the price where you're shipping it to. And she also has characters, but only four shades. Okay. So it's like, you know, peach. It is like tackling each undertone that we needed. There's one that's like a little bit more of that orangey red. And there's one that's peachy or pinker, you know, to cancel out what you want. I found that this was just so seamless underneath the eye. And I kind of just like buffs. It literally brings luminosity to your under eye. It is a perfect.
The light bulbs under the eyes. Exactly. And the artist was explaining to me yesterday about how would she heard that there was Micah in here? She was like, Oh, no. Right. Because I think a lot of us think of under eye brighteners like the old school Becca one, which I have had in my kit forever. And it gives you, I agree, too much luminosity under the eye. Leave it to Lisa. She nailed it. Beautiful coverage goes on flawlessly. There's like this micro buffing brush that she's selling as well. That is just so, so good. Absolutely. Love it. And it's like, it's like a little candlelight for underneath your eye. Yeah. Okay. Great. Well, I have a complexion product that I want to talk about. I mean, first of all, I am just going to say that in my opinion, the new Atelier Westman foundation is beyond chef's kiss. Like best I've ever had. I bow down all of that. So we're not going to be covering it today. And that's because Dun-Dun-Dun-Dun-A.
You say it. Dun-Dun-Dun-Dun-A. We have the Gucci Westman herself who will be joining us on the mic. And we're going to go in depth on that foundation. So we're just putting a pin in that for now. But when it comes to complexion, when out of my comfort zone to try a powder, which I don't usually use powders on my skin because I'm not super oily, although I am feeling a bit of oil on my skin right now. But this is the Dior forever on set powder blurring translucent loose setting powder. How's that for a name? I know. And it comes in five shades. So I think even though it's translucent, it does have five shades, which I think is important to because we know that it can have like a little bit of a white cast. This one is $56 US and 76 in Canada and it is Talk Free. This is my bugaboo right now. It's like every single powder that I like is being reformulated and Talk's taken out, which I don't look at. Right. Including the Charlotte Tilbury.
Yeah. Well, that's, yeah, everybody has Shekun Song-Goo. That's what we say. So this, some of you who are big Dior fans might be wondering why they've come out with the second matte powder because they actually already have like a lot of brands. They have a mattifying powder and then they have a radiant powder. And this is a third one or a second matte. So the reason for that is that this one is blurring and the other one is just mattifying with like a sheer to light coverage. Whereas this one is meant to be invisible yet blurring. And that's why I really like this product and wanted to talk about it today because when I tried it and I put it on like this area of my cheeks, I could not believe the difference between the areas where I had applied it and not applied it when it came to the blurring. I was like, this is magic.
Like it was like a before and after on my face. You know what I mean? And you need to put that on Instagram. I'm just going to do a little, a little touch up. I'm sure you won't be able to see from like that far of, you know, and I'm using the pad, which I will say, mattified a little too much for my liking. So what I would do in the future is I have a fan brush. And I think just doing that very light fan brush would be incredible because then it's just not applying too much. Like you have more oily skin so you might be fine with this. And it's meant to kind of like bake is the other main function, which I do appreciate. And I used it again in a different way this morning on my eyelids because I was using a bit of eyeliner and I just find an island because I've greasy eyelids that transfer so much. So I used a smaller brush and applied it just a little dusting and a little dusting over the liner and it worked brilliantly.
So yeah, I would, there's different ways to use it, but I'm giving it the thumbs up. Today's episode is brought to you in part by Quince. Okay. So have you done your full clothing turnover? I haven't done it yet, but I'm getting ready to. This is when I've got all of my summer clothes. I'm going to backpack them, put them away, get out my sweaters. And that's when I like to clear out the stuff I don't think I'm going to wear. I take it to a consignment shop and I use my new monies to invest in new pieces that are going to be part of my like uniform dressing for the fall. And I'll tell you where I'm always guaranteed to be shopping these days. And that's Quince because they really have that sweater that somehow works with everything. They've got great cable knits right now. I really want to get those in a couple of different shades.
They have jeans. They have cashmere, organic cotton, washable silk, all of these like timeless and thoughtfully crafted items that you're just going to wear again and again. Like I'll give you an example. They're 100% Mongolian cashmere sweaters started just $50. And you're getting that softness. It looks like it's luxury. Nobody's going to know, but you don't have the luxury price tag. And they even have like leather bags. I have a suede computer bag that I love. I use it all the time. They have footwear. They have 14k gold jewelry now. So if you want to try it for yourself, you need to know that everything at Quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. And that's because they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middle man. So you're just paying for the quality and not for the brand markup. I'm all about little habits that you can do every single day that add up to help you look and feel your best and cowboy colostrum is just that. So colostrum, it's the first milk account produces after giving birth. So it's rich in amino globulins and growth factors, which are the bio active compounds that support your immune system. So heading into cold and flu season, that's music to my ears. And cowboy colostrum is bovine colostrum 100% made in America from American grass fed cows. It's true first day whole colostrum, which means it's full fat, high in protein, no artificial flavors, no fillers. And it's only collected after the baby calves have had their fill. So no worries there. I love how easy it is to incorporate into my routine.
I just put a scoop in my warm coffee. I use my little hand mixer thing to just blend it all together. It tastes really good. Does not taste like a supplement. Right now I like the cookies and cream flavor. And it's really great because they also ran a clinical study on it. So among participants, 83% reported improved gut health, 72% saw improved digestion, and 79% said they had less bloating, and 62% reported fuller, thicker looking hair. So great news for breaking beauty listeners. We have a special promo code for a limited time. Our listeners get up to 25% off their entire order. Like you mentioned, Carly, and I thought there was so much foundation news that we could have done a whole other episode. But one that I wanted to show out for best of all, this launch actually in the summer. This is the hung van Gogh red carpet skin luminous long wear serum foundation. Okay. And this is 46 US dollars and 66 in Canada. It comes in these frosted plastic tubes. So they're really great for travel, no spilling whatsoever. Absolutely love it. This is a serum foundation meant to feel weightless on the skin. We know he's the king of red carpet glow. There's no question. He's still working with Anne Hathaway's working with Selena Gomez, all of these people. And it's this radiant natural mat. And there's a few things about this. I have been using this ever since I got it, but his whole positioning with the 36 shades is that you there's that every one of them has a neutral undertone. Okay. This is why it's so confusing out there right now to find your shade to find your shade. So he designed that to make it very easy for people to find their shade.
Okay. But there are a lot of people who are even more confused than ever. Oh, interesting. Yes. So if I'm breeding between the lines, a lot of brands will have 50 shades, let's say, because they have there's a whole, well, a third of them that are cool, a third of them that are warm and then a third of them that are neutral, approximately in terms of undertones. That a lot of brands function that way. We've talked about that. Certainly like a Mac from back in the day or like people who would have a lot of bread of shade. Right. So he's eliminated all of the hundred tones making them all neutral, which would account for the fact that there's only what you said 32 shades. There's 36 shades. 36 shades. New way of thinking about it. And I think it's kind of confused people, but regardless, once you find your shade, I'm shade seven, by the way. And I found that out because I watched Katie Jane uses Instagram about it and we're shade twins. I see. So that's handy. Very handy. And this is a bit of a learning curve, but it is my new replacement for the Armani luminous
silk that I used always. Okay. Well, that's saying a lot. That was your writer die before they reformulate. Exactly. And the thing is a lot, it's going to be a lover or a lover to hate it because you need to use so little, I'm talking about a pin prick. Okay. You shake it up, pin prick on your, your hand, then you dot that all over your face. And then he has this lovely brush that you blended in with either with this or with your fingertips. Your skincare has to be juicy and you will get absolutely flawless application. Okay. Yeah. May I see it? I just want to see the fluid, fluidity of this. Be careful. A lot comes out. So online, you've seen some criticisms. People said, I put this on. I look like a statue. Like it was almost two opaque, opaque. But all of that being said, when it's on your skin, it feels weightless. Yeah. Like a serum. Yeah. So the point is you're getting pigment. Yes. You're getting nano pigment.
Yes. It's kind of, I think, this new wave. Yeah. Exactly in a serum base. So I think that it's a winner and I will keep using it. Okay. And love hung. He's the best. Well, I can't wait to try it. Yeah. Okay. Amazing. Now in other makeup favorites, I actually have an eye shadow to talk about. For once, because I haven't talked about eye shadow in ages. Now a lot of you know, I'm not a big eye shadow girly in the way of like, I'm not a palette queen. Right. You know what I mean? I, I like a very simple minimalist eye shadow. And so I often will go for sticks, which have their benefits and have their drawbacks, right? So what I found that I've been really loving is the say super swayed baked eye shadow. Oh, cute. Which I have here. These are singles everybody. And if you are not watching and you're just listening, what would you say? This is the size of Joe, like a silver dollar.
Something like that. So yeah. Yeah. So there's singles. They're $24 each US and 34 in Canada. Okay. So it is a bit pricey, I would say. It's six matte shades and five shimmers. Now I'll be honest, I've only tried the matte. I don't love shimmer, like I'm just not a big shimmer girl. And the first thing I noticed when I looked at the six matte shades is they're all various shades of brown. So it's almost like you took the hung vingo matte palette or the makeup by Mario and just deconstructed it into these very 90s. Like she had a line of Christians in as they, yeah, in the, in the campaign, which I loved because again, she's not a 20 year old model. Not that often that you'll see a Gen X person in an eyeshadow campaign. So I loved that and it didn't look airbrushed to it within an inch of its life in my opinion. So these, the other thing that got me about these is that they are baked eyeshadows.
So it's meant to give you that hence the name a swayed like veil. And I actually really enjoyed that. I was surprised at how much I liked this formula. In terms of the pigment, I would say it falls. I mentioned the makeup by Mario, the matte palette and the hung vingo. We've talked about both were big, big fans of both makeup by Mario is not ultra pigmented. I think it's meant to be buildable is meant to be for everyday wear, very easy. Lung is much more pigmented. You put it on and pal, but perfect palette selection of all these browns and there's warm and cool. I would put these say ones right in the middle. So it's like a really nice, I find if, if I shadows are too pigmented and I'm not a pro, I put it on and it's like plonk. Uh oh. And then I start spreading it out. Uh oh. And I start making these rings around my eyes. So I like that there can be a bit of build up. And I just found with these. Literally is that simple.
I just grabbed like a fairly big fluffy brush, tap some off and then just did the windshield wiper windshield wiper in the crease down to my lash line and just started moving up and up above my crease. And that's what I really liked is that it gives you the seamless line because it's not so pigmented. It's like, it's very easy to use is what I'm saying. It's very easy to use perfect for lazy slash busy people like me. Uh, I'm a fan and they are tail-free if that matters to you. Right. They're calling them Demi Matt. That's a perfect I think for that brand especially. Yeah. Yeah. Great. It's baked right? Yeah. So that's the whole thing with like anything made in an Italian lab often. Mm hmm. It is that baked where it's like it has a curve on it like on this shadow itself right? It's not. Yeah. And then there's some way that it all dries down that they like rare beauty has blushes like that. There's a lot of eyeshadows like that.
Yeah. That use that baking. And I think it's like they literally put it on like a terracotta thing to dry. Don't they or something like that? Yeah. So it's like the technique in how they dry it down also factors into how it looks. Well they call it a pressed powder formula. Okay. Which I think is so interesting. And the promise that they claim is that it doesn't crease and it doesn't go patchy. And I can attest to that. Great. I can attest to that. So that's surprising that a more clean quote unquote brand is going there. That's great with the performance. I'm a fan. I recommend guys. Okay. The other thing I want to talk about which is a bit of a hit at Sephora right now. This is the feel. It's called beauty kissy lips comfy hydrating peptide lip mask treatment. This is $22 in the US and 32 in Canada. So this whole line launched in January of 2026 direct to Sephora. And there's a bunch of tinted versions where you can use it on your lips and your cheeks.
They're called the kissy lips hydrating high shine tinted lip and cheek bomb. And this is the clear one that is new this month. So the founder behind this brand is Jamie Holmes. And she is like a veteran in the beauty industry behind two faced better than sex mascara. Ulay Hendrickson the banana line which went bonkers. She talked about that when she was on our show. Yeah, she was on our show for timeline. So she worked in skincare as well. And I guess after all of that, she decided to give it a go on her own line. So it's called feel beauty. It's F E L beauty and the whole concept. RIP vowels. Yeah, exactly. And the whole concept behind it is comfort beauty, which I kind of love. Because I think that we're at a time where we do look for beauty for comfort. We do. And I love that she could see where people take comfort in beauty. Like to me, this is kind of like if the linoge sleeping mask and the eos,
remember the little round one you got at the drugstore. If they got married, this is their love child. And it's lips. So the idea is that you're like kissing it on. Nobody can say they've never been kissed now. And it's a peptide lip treatment with hyaluronic acid. So we know the there's peptide lip bombs a go go. This is a different form of it. And the tinted ones I actually really like because they are very sheer, but they're not sticky at all. It is meant to be like a bomb. The actual lips on it is kind of freaking me out. But you know, I'm sure she's going to crush it because she's very successful. Again, if you think about the eos member, there was a time when everybody had it. Right. When you were younger, I feel like that's what this is. It's a new version of that. And I think that's smart. It's like evolving that which eos member did. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right.
Right. Right. Right. Right. Yes. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. It's just how it works. Marous But you know what I mean. Right. Right. Yeah. Right. And that's how you met with eating st distinctive lip cosmetics. Yes. Right. Okay. Right. Right. Good. creb sheets, spa robes, they kind of have everything in honestly. I appreciate they even sell separates on their website everybody. So if your team only fitted sheet and you don't want a flat sheet, Kouchi allows you to get that top quality, but you only have to buy one piece. I just think that's absolutely genius. Plus they have flannel sheets on their website right now that I totally have my eye on. And then I just I just love all of the color curation on there too. Everything feels calm, feels serene.

Today's episode is brought to you in part by tumble. So I live in a house from 1892 is a Victorian. We've done a lot of renos on it, but I'll tell you what we didn't do the kitchen. And I don't want to do a renovation on my kitchen. Okay, I'm just putting lipstick on that pig. We have huge cracks in the tile, but I can't live through a Renault. I just can't. So you know what the solution has been for us a rug. Here's the challenge in the kitchen. All the spills that I make. It hasn't
been going that well. So this is where tumble comes in because the rugs are completely spill proof and machine washable. Okay, so if it's a tiny spill, you can just wick it away with a cloth. And if it's a bigger spill, even if it's a large rug, which is what I have, it's fully machine washable. And it's really genius like tumble is really known for how easy it is to wash their rugs and tumble's cushioned and non slip rug pad tucks into the hidden corner pockets on the underside of the rug. So you don't have to fuss around with Velcro. It's a really secure setup. And the rug doesn't slide around. And all of the tumble rugs, they are safe for kids, pets, anyone spending time on the floor. And my favorite part about tumble rugs is they look great. They look like a designer rug. They don't look cheap. And anyway, trust me, I wouldn't be having that. Got one in my cart and ready to hit go. And they're perfect for whether it's a kitchen and entryway, a hallway at kids room, machine washable rugs made better for a limited time only. Our listeners get 10% off plus free

This is a cleanser that has clinical data behind it that it takes off makeup in just one step. Okay. And this is the in beauty project extreme cleanse milky misler barrier repair cleanser. 29 US dollars, 40 dollars in Canada. And we know the girls from in beauty, they come with the receipts. They do too much when it comes to they they are just formulators at heart. And they know how to formulate a winning product. And then they know it's so good they go out and they pay for the clinicals. Yeah. So
they literally have on on their website the before and the after under the UV camera of the cleanser like your face with SPF on it. And then one step with this and and it shows like there's no more SPF left on your face. Yeah. That's amazing. Which I think is actually very unique in the market to promise the one step. I also think a minute we've seen that promise but we haven't necessarily seen we've seen like self evaluated or like people think that this is enough. Yeah. They're just taking it to that next level to the extreme level if you will. Yeah. And the fact that it's a milky misler cleanser it has glycerin ceramides and squalling in there. I was wearing so much makeup yesterday. I ended up putting on my face twice basically. And this literally did take it off in one cleanse which would never happen. Wow. When normally I would always double cleanse. I didn't have my oil cleanser here. Oh, that's like here we go. See, this is this is telling because I was trying a new K Beauty brand to Sephora. Right. And I did a double cleanse and I did
the bomb followed by a salicylic acid boming cleanser. Yeah. And even after both cleanses when I use the towel my face my face was on the towel. Oh, I went. I went right for the towel after and I was like this will be it. Okay. This is the task. It was fantastic. The fact that also it's I think hit on something very unique in the milky misler vein. Nutri Gina has one which I have not tried but they position it they position that as a make it's in their makeup room over category. It's not in a cleanser category. So this being talked about as a cleanser I do feel is quite unique. So I am a fan of a lot of in beauty projects. I love their their extreme cream as well. So that has been that's going to be on the top shelf. Okay. That's in the vanity now. It's in the it's in my shower. There's no going back. Love it. Oh, just one thing for you. There is fragrance in it. Just let you know. Okay. Yeah. All right. Consider yourself warned. All right. Well, my favorite skin care
item of the season is the Estora Cica A dash Cica 365 soothing redness relief face serum pH 4.5. This one is $38 US and $52 in Canada. And I will say it launched in February in the US, but it's just launched in Canada mid August and the brand is going on Amazon.ca in Canada as well which is new news. And this product is a wonder if you have sensitive skin sensitized skin particularly or rosacea. I think it is a boon because so often, you know, we might overdo it on whether it's a retinal or AHAs, what have you peels. And we're often like what can I use on my face next. And a lot of germs will say like L'orange, Pose Cica, you know, moisturize it's a that's a moisturizer. And but sometimes it feels like moisturizers kind of feel counterintuitive.
It's not what you want to be putting on skin that feels sensitized. So as a first step, this serum is wonderful. It just for the winter. It feels like a liquid bandaid. I want to say where you just put it on and it is it's cooling. They actually have those toner pads that we've, you know, we've been seeing about super huge trends. Hey beauty. And those are cooling as well. But I find the serum to be too. And yeah, you just put it on and it's like it just feels it does. Like I honestly felt like when I had some stinging, I put it on and it relieved the stinging. So I'm a big fan of this product. And it's the kind of thing that anyone can use. I would use this in place of a hyaluronic acid as well. Like why do you need a hyaluronic acid serum? Just use this one with Cica that's going to also help calm the inflammation at the same time. Protect the barrier. Protect the barrier. All of the above. All of that stuff. I think that to me, this is the new
hyaluronic acid serum. Well, L'Ruchpa Samos just simply be quaking in their boots with the arrival of a stura because they're launching a lot more products than I frankly thought they would. Yeah, because I just thought it was going to be those core products. Right. And that's it. But no, they are really pushing forward with the innovation. And it's fantastic for sensitive skin types in the price point. It's a germ backed line from Korea. It's K Beauty. It's like if L'Ruchpa say was Korean instead of French, it would be a stura. So all the germs kept behind this. It's that stufora now. And it's a wonderful line. But this Cica one in particular is like amazing. Fantastic. Okay. So the last product that I'm going to shout out is a hair product that is K Beauty. So we talked about how K hair is coming. This is it you guys. Dr. Fer hair is the name of the brand. It is just launching. It just launched at Sephora. This is called the Falligen thickening shampoo with Falligen X. So this is for hair, fullness and scalp nourishment for full of
looking hair. And it is this is a really like, buzzy popular product in Korea. And it works guys. Like I just found that my hair looks so much thicker from the first wash. And I really think that it's because these ingredients like it has after water, of course, it's sodium C14 whatever sodium chlorides. It's like, it almost reminds me of like a sea salt spray in the form of a shampoo that gives you that really deep cleanse and that thickening they have a, but the ironic thing is is that I thought the conditioner wasn't going to be conditioning because it's so, which is what happens with a lot of volumizing shampoos. But actually when you use the conditioner, it was like, oh my gosh, it went so silky soft right away like all the tangles came out. And then when I blow dried it, that also just washed out. So is the idea with this line because I'm not that
familiar with it. Yeah, it's it's more of a not aesthetic line, but it's more about achieving voluminous hair. Or is it about thickening up your hair? It's like scalp care. So what they say is just in one use, it reduces scalp sebum by 92%. Okay. And it reduces scalp buildup by 77%. So it's like clarifying. Yeah, it's super clarifying. And it also has like caffeine and peptide in it and rosemary leaf oil and biotin and ceramides. So it really is like, K beauty skin care for your scalp. There's also a exfoliating scalp cleanser, which I really like as well. There's a nourishing mask. The reviews on this line is fantastic. So it's definitely one to watch. Yeah, it looks quite medicinal slash pharmaceutical. Yeah, I think the name is serious. Yeah, I think collagen. What the fuck? I know that's what I was thinking. Followed in collagen combined. No, this is like, I was like, what am I hearing? I'm like, she's
saying you're wrong. No, it is kind of it's kind of genius, I think, because it is like, it reminds me of follicle or reminds me of collagen. You get it. You're like, yeah, it's, it takes care about. Now, doctor for hair guys is the sister brand to on of am I saying that right? Yes, which is so already kind of a hit at Sephora. Yeah, I love the hair mask. It's meant to be like a K beauty version of like a K teen is doctor for hair real. So apparently, it doctor for hair is the sister brand to on of as well as the hair transplant medical group for hair Korea. Yeah, it says it's tricolidious developed. So that's pretty interesting. Yeah, exactly. So it's like, so we don't know if it does. It's a doctor for hair is for all the doctors that are under her that are here that are here for hair. That's what it's perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Well, we had so much more we could have talked about now because there are so many hits
this season. Absolutely. Absolutely. So that's why we're going to come to you with even more next month. Next month.
