You're listening too. I'm on the media podcast. Makeup is my therapy. I'm obsessed and I don't even feel guilty about it. Hello and welcome to You Beauty. This is the podcast for your face. I'm Kelly McCarran. I am Lee Campbell. How are you? Well I'm alright. We've just come off the back of a short week. I don't love a short week. I'll be honest. So I'm confused about school holidays then it was Easter and then we've got Anzac Day and it's feels I just don't know. Everything's all over the shop. And if you work for yourself like me, we really don't love a public holiday. Even like people, if you work in an office, public holidays still aren't amazing because you still have to do your work. What do you mean? Like catch up later. Like if you work in an office. But everyone's in the same boat. Yeah, true. Anyway, whatever. Hi guys, it's Friday. It's boring. You know, it's not beauty products. And that's what we're here to talk about today. I'm very, very, very, very excited to talk about mine. More than normal.

Wow. Okay. Well, two of them I'm obsessed with and the other two are fabulous as well. Well, every week on Friday we go through something quite expensive. Hmm. Quite cheap or more affordable. So that's a spending saviour of the week. Then we have our newbie, something new to the market. That is what I cannot wait to tell you. I'm so excited by mine. Oh, but I'm excited about mine. You might have been looking for it for ages. Ooh. And then a shot my stash, an empty, something that we've rediscovered or hunted out or stolen off each other, whatnot or just finished. So let's kick things off with our, what are you most excited about? Would you spend your saviour? Probably my saviour because it's new. Okay. Spandy. Baby. Spandy. My saviour is the relatively new revolution skin silk. I know you're thinking, yeah, I know foundation concealer. New glow tint, sheer foundation stick. Oh. I know. I was in price line right before it is loved. Excuse me. I've used it twice. Oh. It's very smudgy. Okay. Before Easter, I popped into price line.

I had 8,000 scripts. So of course I had to buy 8,000 products while he made them. Head over to revolution. I'm like, no, you, I know you, I know you, I know you hang on. I haven't seen this guy. So it is the revolution beauty skin silk glow tint. It's 22 bucks. There's six shades and I purchased and I'm wearing light neutral. I'm in an eye ring if I go get the slightly darker shade. So they say fast free lip from a within skin. It's literally like, is it Charlotte that has one? Yeah, but I like, when they say this is a foundation, it is very jewelry and glowy. I, yeah, I wouldn't call it a foundation. It's more like a, it's a bar meat in. I have put it all over. That's why I think maybe this shade's a little bit too light for me because if it was exactly my skin color, like for you, dry, I reckon you could just whack that on on holidays and look like you've been radiating it. Yeah. That's what I mean. Like it definitely would never be enough for like coverage. Not much coverage at all. But it's absolutely beautiful. You need to feel like it actually feels like a bar. I'm good point. So imagine that in the car, like you're going somewhere

and you're looking the back of the cab. Holy. Okay. Yeah. That's way more juicy than the Charlotte. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wait. Charlotte. So you'll make up. That's almost skin care. So you're dry. Oh. That's beautiful. I'm a little bit too juicy. But I've been using it almost as an anti-contour on like a highlighter thing anyway. It's really beautiful. 22 bucks. I'm going to get the next shade. I told you. Doesn't it feel super nourishing? You get the next shade. Then give that one to me. Oh, you can have this. Oh, sorry. That was my fault. I'm going to get a lighter one too for like subtle highlighter. Oh, clever. Yep. See, one of the things that you might not know about Lee Campbell is that she is one of the most generous people you ever meet. Sometimes I would just say, oh, I'd quite like that. And well, you could give it to me. And then she'd be like, yeah, you can have it. So you're a generally one shade lighter than me. Thank you. Yes. So revolution again. Marry me. I love you. What's your saving? My saving. It's a bit of, I've realised that I'm the sort of person

that I've got like middle aged white man confidence. Yeah, always. And so I will look in the mirror and be like, you hot bitch. That's what it feels like. That's the same that you did when you were 19. But you're better. And then I do things like use a mascara. And I used to be able, I've always, like since they sort of came out, I've preferred a tubular. But I've always been able to use a mascara is. But I've noticed lately I can't. Oh, yeah. Because they actually just end up all over my lid. Are you wearing a bit of a hoodie? For me, thinking you looked the exact same that you did when you were 19. Well, your eyes are a little bit droopy at all because I cannot wear regular mascara without it ending up all over my lips. But you also have super long lashes. So I'm thinking. I've always had the same lashes. I've never had this problem. Oh, yeah. I've always had, like it would get a little bit, but not like all over. Okay, the world is more human. So it's melting more. Okay, what fun. Tell me what you found. Anyway. Also, I love your confidence.

I wish everyone had that. And I think that you look better than you ever have. Thank you so much. And listen, I still think I look fantastic. But it's just a bit funny when you do have, like, I know. You're a little bit delusional. Yep. Sorry. The thing is, is it so many tubeless suck, especially affordable tubeless. Yeah, yes. Well, Lee. Three, 99. What I can't even tell the brand. It's a bright aqua chubby. It's like a chubby, like one of the old Maybelline ones. What is it? Listen, it's not the packaging. It's smudging everywhere to be color. I would call it. W7 Tupet. No way. It's like a chemistry house. Chemistry house. Three, 99. So I could get two of these for the price of my coffee, which is outrageous. Well, silly. You just get one all the way up. Really need to just make my own coffees, don't I? Also, your coffee is like $14. So you could get it. It's not. It's like eight. Oh, yeah. Okay. The packaging's gone everywhere. But. But I think that's also that could just be. Whoa. Sorry. It's so good.

If you can see it on my lashes. As you're walking in to send, I was putting it on. Oh, you were too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's the weirdest, most unique brush I've ever seen. It's like a spiral. Well, it looks like a screw. Like a. Yeah. Philips head. But the way that the brush is, it just gets in there. And the formula looks like not too juicy, but also nice and thickened. Yes. Exactly. Oh, and flexy. Okay. I'll keep that. So good. Well, I've used it on my eyes. I'm conjunctive. Remember? Okay. I don't want it. Oh, no. It's not like I can't go out and buy four-dollar mascara. It's going to be stealing whatever your spend is. Well, yeah. Oh, actually, my spend is not too expensive either. But I do have something in my newbies for you that I think you're like. What is your spending? Okay. I don't want you to confuse this with something incredible. Please, symbolize. Draff, don't be. Kelly, your garments are coming down. Oh, they are. Oh, oh. I do love that top, though. Isn't it gorgeous? Can I borrow that? Yes, you can. It's so uncomfortable. Oh, good. Probably a year ago now, I recommended a beauty pacific body product that I love.

That was $68. Incredibly expensive but amazing. Now this is the beauty pacific extra dry skin fix. Also, $68. I was researching for this show. Oh, beauty. Well, I was just like this episode and I read it and I was like, Oh, it's actually for the body. So I've been using it on your face. Yes. And it's so good. So again, everyone's sick of hearing every week about my skin and it's angry and blah, blah, blah. I just wanted like a beautiful cream that was one and done. I must have read that somewhere. I read something like applied a dry skin. Great. I was like, off I go. Didn't read the rest. It's for the body but I personally have been using it for face and love it. There is nothing like this cream. Let me read a little bit because I was just like, Well, who would waste that on their body but then I've ordered two? But honestly, can I test it while you read? I don't think you'll be that impressed with just the touch and feel. So it says extremely moisturizing and repairing cream designed to treat very dry, chapped and damaged skin, high concentration of natural squalene and vitamin A.

Cream penetrates deeply and leaves a reservoir of hydration within the skin that reactivates by contact of water. I don't, I just shower delivering long lasting continuous moisture for then I read this part. Hands, feet, elbows and other rough or irritated areas. Well, that might be my face. Exactly. Extreme dryness, cracked skin and inflammatory skin conditions, which is what's wrong with my face. Beautiful. Yeah. I mean, again, with this brand, Kelly and I talk about it a fair bit, boring packaging, relatively like not exciting but so good. And it's one of those brands that you discovered and then you're obsessed with it. Like that's, that feels face. Not just feel fine. It feels beautiful. Yeah. Anyways, I use it in my face too to be fair. Thank you. And like, it doesn't know it's my face. Yeah. I love it. I'm going to keep using it. My skin's getting there. Yeah. It looks really nice and juicy today. All right. So what's your spending? Last year, we remember that one of my favourite product launches from the entire year was the Olay Collegion Superpeptides. How could I forget? The one in the red pocket.

The red. Yeah, I ran away. I mean, I ran downstairs and got it. So good. Okay. They've got a relatively new product. It's been out for a couple of months now. This is the Olay Super SPF50 Fluid Moisturizer. So, whereas you would use the red pot at night, I mean, I would also use it during the day because I'm quite dry. Yes. This is for the day. Now, it is SPF50 and you can use half a teaspoon on your face and neck without looking smudgy. But does it feel skincare and serum-y? The bottle. That's what I'm talking about. This, as a day moisturizer, it's glass. I swear it was SK2 from the back. Lee, the glow that this gives you. Oh, no, I'm not kidding. I can see it. Oh, my goodness. It's beautiful. But it's not too much for oily people. Because it leaves. Oh, really? The drug river. It leaves like the most beautiful tacky. You know, a lot of people like tackiness. Miss, the bottle's a little bit like sparkly. Like, I thought it was going to be that sparkly with the cup. No, I wouldn't want it that sparkly. No, I mean either. But I was just letting you know my brain was working.

Oh, you thought it was like literally going to be a shimmer. Yeah, because if you're looking. Yeah, well, I don't know. But it's, you know, that's fair. I knew that it wouldn't be a shimmer because it is. It almost feels like in texture like one of those barrier repair protecting serum-y type things. I think it feels like a primer because it dries so tacky. Please hold. It's interesting. I didn't expect it to be like that. To me, it's like a barrier bounce type road spray vibes. Oh, sorry. Oh, we're talking about the same product. Those are milky products. But they settle with like a not oily film. But like, you can feel it staying there and locking everything in. Anyway, I totally missed this. How has it been out for so long and how have you not shown me? And it feels like a nice light weight moisturizer. Beautiful, right? I'm just going to. So I got it from Chemus Warehouse for $35. We're priced at $70. But I've also seen it. We're worse at Coals at price. I'm also for $35. Oh, it says fluid moisturizer because it's 50 mil. So my serum's a 30. Yeah. That's what I mean. It's like really good bang for your buck as well. And it's such a pretty sparkly bottle. I know. I'm not going to throw that one at you because I don't want it.

Yeah, fair. Okay. Okay. So coming up after the break. I finally found a lip stain that actually works. I have the return of one of my ultimate, ultimate favourites that was discontinued and is... Is it a relic? Back. Quick question. Are you tired of the news? Do you want a podcast that isn't self-improvement? Come get unleashed. It's funny. I also think that underwear is sort of almost like a new marriage. Like it starts off, it gives you the best of what it offers at the beginning. It's unhinged. I have a bit of a thing for my friend's husband, Salami. Hello. It's not here to teach you anything. I need to make sure he looks at me. One side I'm going to make a sign. This is what I married because I didn't meet you in time. Yeah, right. The other side was pointing to my son who's 12. Look what we could have had Louis. I love it.

It's a good time for Gen X. So search unleashed wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes every Tuesday. Hey, newbie. So, anything else? It's new. No, I want you to do your newbie first because you told me I was a relic. I didn't say you were a relic. I asked you if you bought another relic in. So these are new. The Gemma La Pearl lip stain markers. Gemma La Pra. Show me the front. It's in Australian. Very, very, very small business. I met Gemma, who's the founder. I met her a couple of years ago. And I thought that she'd just done a blush. But then I received these. And I was like, oh my goodness, she's released. And I just looked at it and I go, oh cool. It's just a lip product. And then I put it to the side. And then I was looking at them and I was like, oh no, these are lip stain markers. However, so many of them don't actually stain or I don't like the creamy ones

because they end up all over my teeth. Give me the boring one to try. But the first time I tried it last week, I put the shade Barrel on my lips. Barrel? Barrel. I don't know. I'm not French. That's shade I put it aside for you because it's nice and like nudy. That is a statement lip. You think that's nude? No, you're right. It's the most dominant. It's the most nude. The rest are. But when it's toned. It goes on your lip. It's not. Yeah. Because your lips more pink than your hands. It leaks. Like I think it'll be really nice on you. So I put it on at night time. Like I was just playing. Oh, playing. Don't you go to bed? No. Yeah. But I was just playing. And then I went to brush my teeth in the morning and I went, ah! Because it was still there. And that was like 10 hours later. Did you try to remove it? Well, I brush my teeth. Oh, right. Okay. I'd wash my face. I did. I did. And then I put lip balm on and I'm a mover in my sleep. Like I, my aura ring says that I'm very restless. Oh, yeah. So I smudge a lot.

And it does not move. Was it on your pillow? No. Was it on your face a bit? They're like a little bit on your face. Oh, this is what I mean. It did not move and it was still on there. And it literally looks like you're using a texture on your lips when you're doing it. Yeah. But then it doesn't go out over your teeth. It doesn't smudge and actually lasts. I'm sorry. You say smudge. What is the word? It's just a lovely way to say it. I say smudge. Oh, yes, smudge. Anyway, it's nice. You're right. Like I didn't do that. It says start with clean, dry lips for best results. Exfoliate first. Oh, because I guess if you've got like a market texture like a... And it... And if you put it on wet stuff, it'll ruin the texture. And if you put it on dry lips, it would get all bally and probably dry them out further. But so that's what I've got today. I've got Sherry Noir on my lips today with just a clear balm over the top. Will you try that really dark one one day? I did. That's what I'd want to bed. Very good. How much today? $34. Oh, that's really good. Well, I mean, it's like a little... Like it's a spendy still.

It's like a little markup, basically. But I think she's got a package online where you can buy all of them. If you like lips and you sort of want all of the different shades. You know what I'd love to see though? A red. Like a cherry peachy red. Like a scarlet? No. Like I'm a just bitten... Cherry. Like apple, juicy. Like just something because they're all kind of... They're all in that... Yeah. Like that brownie... That's very brownie earthy. I call it something a little bit pink or redder. So Gem, if you're listening... Yeah. Get on it. I want one that's clear. Only joking. I'm going to try that. Alright. I'm just being silly. Okay. So... Back when I was young, only joking. But actually... Well, no. I was in beauty. Thank you very much. But like so... But how many years ago? I'm not being sarcastic or what you need to tell the story. Let me tell the story. Okay. I'm going to start with hands. I don't like hand cream. No, I hate that. Three hand creams on the earth that I will tolerate. One that I very much liked a lot, a lot, a lot that existed.

And then went away. Oh. And you were upset, obviously. Well, I was upset and then I forgot. Yeah. So anyone as old as me or hates hand cream and found one they love. The brand is and was called the chemistry brand. It's from the DCM group. So the ordinary and all those guys. They had the best products. Beautiful body products, the most amazing hand cream. And then they just went, you know what? See you later. So it launched in 2013. And it was discontinued in 2022. So it literally launched last Friday. But I couldn't get my hands on it. Get it. So I'm talking about it today. I also haven't opened it. Ooh. I know because I want to remember. Well, I want to see if I remember or it's the same. I mean, it sure it is. Let me tell you about it while I open it. Actually, why don't you open it while I tell you about it? Okay. I mean. Oh, the packaging even gives me so much nostalgia. I love the packaging. Yes. It's like very. They bring back all the other products. So let me tell you. Because the whole world was looking for a Jeep. If you're going to read it. Concentrated multi-functional hand cream powered by a highly active blend

of six strategic ingredients designed to target four visible signs of aging ones. I don't know which six does which four. Anyway. It's so good. I need to try it again. Unlike traditional hand creams that focus only on surface hydration, hand chemistry works in one step to improve brightness, refine texture, enhance softness, and relieve dryness. It feels good. And it's drying down so quickly. Yes. Because if I touch any, like you know what I'm like when I've got the product here. It's so gross if you touch your keyboard and then it's like sticky in this. Or you like your glasses or yourself. Oh, yes. And I love the smell. It's orange. Yeah. To me now. Actually, it's a bit slimy than I remember, but I did put it about four years ago. Oh, sorry. Can you tell I'm excited? Actually, it's the box. Yeah. Okay. You don't like it. Well, I did think I was kind of putting on like sunscreen for my whole body. No, I love it. The sand just took me back to when I was young and cool. Okay. But you just went like this. Well, I know. Because I just shouldn't have put that much on. But it's been a while between hand creams. No, I love it now. In the smell like zesty, like a lemonade.

It's beautiful. It feels so good. Anyway, it's not suffocating. No, not at all. And also, I just really, really, really, really hope that things, more things are coming back. It's one of my favorite products. I'm not going to mention it now. Okay, so it doesn't come back. Or in case it does. Like I think about it every day. Oh, I know. Okay, after the price. How much is it? Oh, yes. I should tell you that. It is $21. And at the moment, you can only get hand chemistry from handchemistry.com. Oh, so, okay. So it's not outrageous. See that? No. It's 50 mil. Yeah. And you only need a tiny bit. So that would last for ages. Also, I should mention. I just talked about this and sorry. But over time, your hands literally feel younger, look younger. You're like, ooh, driving. Whose hands are those? I definitely will be going to purchase that because that is so nice. Agreed. And also, like you, young folk don't know it. So you'd be like, oh, that's cool and you. Yeah. After the break, I want to know what yours is. But mine. Well, mine's something I bought before Christmas. And I've been umming and garring. It's been the journey. It's been love, hate. But it's ultimately love.

It's a shot my stash because I have had such bad skin lately. My texture, I've had really bad congestion. I've been getting big cystic pimples. I did. There was one on my cheek. No, it was so bad. What did you feel for me? I knew that it wasn't to be squeezed.

But it was just so big. Can you see it just there? Oh, I thought there was a mole with it. No. It was like done well. Oh, you should have seen it a couple of days ago. Like it was, you know, when you squeeze something and it's definitely not ready, so then the infection is like pushed in and it gets even bigger. You can't not. Anyway, so my skin's been so bad. So I've needed to cut everything right back. Because I think it was because I introduced a couple of different things at the same time. And you were traveling and stuff. Like there's always a delay in life. Yeah. So I remembered, I wanted to use something that would treat my skin but not because of the change in season. It's also very textural and drier than usual. And I'm just, it's just not having fun. It's not dry at all out. So I remembered that I had the Medicaid and I synomied peptides. So it's balancing and porophyting. 10% niacinamide serum with peptides and NaG. So why I wanted to use a good niacinamide serum and why then I hunted this out? Because I tried it when it first came out. I was like, this is amazing. But I didn't need it at the moment.

Was niacinamide is really great at clearing your skin without stripping it. And as much as I love my acids, like my lactic and my salicylic for clearing up skin, I do find that they can be a little bit too harsh, especially when I've got other steps in my routine that are exfoliating when my skin is already cranky. Yes, I'm so proud that you've worked that out. Whereas niacinamide is like a beautiful gentle, it's way to exfoliate and refine your pores. It's also great all rounder, especially if you can't do but I mean, see, you want something a bit more gentle. I find when I use it my pores, not that you can shrink pores but they just do look a little bit tighter. And smaller. And that I mean, they, it does say that about that. And because of the formula, it's barrier repairing, which is also, I'm like, I need something that's going to treat this skin but not impair the barrier because it is so cranky and dry at the moment. You don't want to go from one extreme to the other. Exactly. This is just so good at congestion, texture, dinging, dinging. Yes, have you been using it all over?

All over my face. Oh, yeah, it's not. It's still just a beautiful, you could use it even if you didn't. I think when I had to go with it, I used it for like a few weeks without any breakouts and I loved it. Yeah, it's so, because it's going to just be good for your skin regardless. My husband stole it because he read somewhere that nice inner minds good for pores and he's Greek and he thinks he's got big pores. So it went to the downstairs bathroom and never came back up. And never came back up. And then last night, I was looking at the start because Medicaid is one of those brands that they do a lot of research and they do clinical studies with all of their product launches. This one uses had a 35% increase in one week. In congestion and maybe that's why I can't say it. I wish I saw it a few days ago. Well, it wasn't good. A hundred and five dollars. Yeah. Wherever you buy an expensive stuff. But it lasts a long time because you're not going to use it. Well, you could. You could. But it's also worth it. Like you only need one pump for your face. Yeah. That's what I tell myself. All right. What did you do? Okay, so tell us the story. Shortly before Christmas. I mean, we finished Easter now. But shortly before Christmas, the algorithm was chasing me.

I have no idea why this topic came to me. I mean, I work in beauty. So that explains part of it. But hair story. A brand that you order from America started following me around the internet. I mean, the cookies do. Who doesn't love cookies? I accept cookies everywhere. Is that why I get so many? Like, I think. Don't you have to accept cookies if you want to go on the website? No, it's preferences. Blah blah blah. But like, I'm like, yeah, cookies. Yeah. So I'm not even on a website this day. I'm on Instagram. But this is following me everywhere. And once you like even watch for like three seconds, it'll say mom, it'll chase you until you buy it. Well, I did. Okay. It's a whole system. But it's essentially the whole premise is, there's a bunch of ways to wash your hair. They're all like one and done. So we're not going to call it shampoo and conditioner in one, except we are. Let me explain. Well, because you think of like pert 201 or like those weird ones that, you know, they use on kids. Yeah. Or like, there was one in the 80s that was like, anyway. God, I'm really aging myself. It says new wash isn't a shampoo or conditioner. It's a detergent free cleansing cream.

Okay. Yes. So you go to the website and you say, hi, this is my hair. We don't have to say hi. This one. You look. You work out your hair type. So I ended up getting the deep clean. There's the original. There's a few. I think there's three or four different variants. It said anyone can have the original main one. But then if you really want to specialize, I went into the deep clean, which is for clarifying cleansing cream for oily and fine hair. Hello. I'm both of those. So literally like you would double shampoo. Just think of it like this is that. But you want to go from root to tip. Because it's going to wash and condition and do everything in one. Okay. Because you know how, and I'm not saying I won't, and I have been shampooing and conditioning. But you shampoo to do one thing and then condition to kind of put it back. It's like, you don't have to do both of those at once. We can clean and nourish. So it says, dispense, root to tip, scalp, scalp, scalp rinse. Do that again. Leave for two to three minutes rinse thoroughly. And that's what you have to do. Yes. But also then why wouldn't you just use a shampoo and conditioner? Well, don't you double shampoo? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And look, let's be honest, I don't always double.

Like sometimes I'm like, okay, if you can't be bothered. I kind of had that thought process. Why have you been humming and iron over it for four months? Okay. So my hair is also on a journey. And then I just also think I had this weird hookup preconceived notion of like shampoo and conditioner in one can't be good. Or like, I don't know. I really like it because it's about to run out. And as you know, we chop and change with a million things. And so it's about to run out. This is lasted forever. It's very expensive. That's the refill situation. Oh, that's good to all like you could just then buy another. Yes. You get a sachet. You know how some refills are another cartridge and you're like, well, that's don't waste my time. So that's $72 though. But if you got a shampoo and a conditioner, like a salon line. Yes. Oh, it's definitely premium. If you go on the website, there's a whole like you've got to do. This is strange. They're usually like the brands that follow you around are quite cheap. And that's how they get you in because they're like. But in my point. So then I went on and I was like, well, do I need the pre wash, which I like to do a scrub, but it's a chemical exfoliant one. And then I got to check out. And it's like, hang on. You get this whole thing. It was a journey. Like I spent three weeks thinking about it. And I forgot.

That's so long to come. I really, really, really like it. If you want a shampoo and conditioner and one. The way it leaves your hair is incredibly hard to explain. It feels. I can't explain it because it doesn't feel washed or conditioned, but it doesn't feel dirty. Or. I'm going to give you some in a thing. No, no. I trust you. I trust you. I don't eat a waste. I've explained it terribly. And then I bought the, like, leaving heat thingy and the sea salt spray, but not sea salt spray, like texture. Or the styling products are amazing. But this is really neat. And that's the one that you finished first. Yeah. I'm about to. That's why when I got it out, I was like, did I do my handbag and I realized that whole thing because you can just do that. I think my son has actually been in the bath. That's why my handbag was full of water. I really like it. I am going to re-purchase it. And I think it's good for travel. Rich has been using it since he discovered it. Because I was like, oh, I'm going to talk about it on the beauty. And then he was like, oh, what is it? And good for men. But it's premium. Like, don't think it's like that cheap shit. Yeah. I like it. Well, that's it for today. We'll be back next week with more relics, more blaster on the past. And Lee, you can rubble back on the lip stain marker
