About this episode

“I'm joined, as always, by SIDS and Chris. This was one of the more powerful weekends that you've... Is this the same golf one from last year that I remember you tell me about? So what's allowed to be said about this?”From the transcript

On this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris are reunited with a very special guest and original podcast legend, Tom Fordyce, for a proper trip down memory lane! Tom joins the boys to reflect on the good old days, the origins of the pod, and the incredible journey from the very first recording to where things are today.

The lads dive straight into some classic tournament nostalgia, reminiscing about the madness, the atmosphere, and the unforgettable moments from the World Cup. Tom and Pete share behind-the-scenes stories, hilarious tour tales, and look back at the chaos that made those early days of the podcast so iconic.

Of course, it wouldn't be a proper reunion without getting stuck into the legendary folklore of the show—including the story behind Chumbawamba, classic catchphrases, and the listener messages that shaped the community. There are plenty of laughs, classic anecdotes, and top-tier banter as the lads catch up on everything they’ve missed.

As always, the boys also get into the latest football talking points, dressing room antics, and the usual listener emails and dilemmas.

Welcome to that Pgr. Podcast. It's brought to you by Pali Power. I'm joined, as always, by SIDS and Chris. You're OK. I'm all right. I'm out of breath. What was this weekend? Oh. This was one of the more powerful weekends that you've... Is this the same golf one from last year that I remember you tell me about? It's fabulous. So what's allowed to be said about this? Oh, no, we can go fully in. There's two teams. Sort of a board. Two teams. You've got badges. You've got foxes. SIDS is actually a fox. As you would think. Yeah, and you're a badger. It's not a badger. Yeah. And it's quite a rival. It's a ball. It's a wider cup of there. Yes. 40 lads. All in Scotland. Four runs of golf. And four points on offer for, you know, for each player. I dream of this stuff. What we're talking here, jet up. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. Listen, we were well-liked after we played some of the best courses in Scotland. I love it. Carnage. What was it? Dunbarne, Kings Barnes.

And North Berwick. North Berwick. You sound a bit, though, eat today as well. Well, we had a conversation at the end. And it was... This is the aircon on the flight on the way back. Yeah, yeah. And we was... What do we say? We said... We're basically in four days. We've seen four areas. And one of them was... Obviously, our hotel room. The bar. The golf course. And... The bus. And the bus. That was it. That was it. Zero. Nothing was available. Zero. That was it. We did go out through me or once. We're Hesky. Once. And they were kind of straight back. And what about a prize for the winner? All of the other... I mean, it's actually very, very... Like, aggressive. It's like, people want to win this thing. Like, seriously. Foxes were quite often win. Yeah. But this was... This was the badger win. And it was a six-point lead into the last...

Yes, on the last day. But it's so funny, because the captains are walking around the course. Like... They look Donald. Right. More, I'll keep shouting more. Yeah. Obviously, I'll skip a few... I'll say more in, you know. As you wish, then. More, more, more. How do you like it? How do you like it? More, more. It's annoying when you're not there. But genuinely, when you're on the bus, right? And you go back to like... It's like... Just like with a backpack, football game, isn't it? Yeah. But with lots of beers involved, isn't it? Yeah, great. And with golf, and... I mean, I just think... You need that in your life. It's a little bit of a getaway for boys, isn't it? So, is it... Is it a fancy dress sort of thing, or is it? It's close to just a nod to the box. Foxes were reds and got a little tail. We got bad news. There's a big club, but we got... Yeah, yeah. Am I initiation? I got a page of blazer. Yeah. I've got it. I've never seen it. I've been a broad... Yeah, I should have brought it into the... Should have brought it into the... Should have brought it. A few initiation. Yeah, so obviously I've been initiating to the badgers.

No, I got... It was a blazer ceremony. And what did you have to do? Did you sing? Well, no, I just presented a badger blazer. It was four sizes too small. Just a man, a great... Fucking the love thing about that. It was a little badger, a badger badge. And he's a PC on the sleeve. That's a nice little stitching on the sleeve. Yeah. I saw this comment on the forehead. I've got to say as well, thank you for the comments about the forehead. Like, you know, blown away by... By how positive and lovely people are. You did come to people. But one of the comments really made me laugh. And they just written underneath the forehead on YouTube. Men are great in there. When I hear your story... It's... It just works. Well, that's something like, I'm coming home. I think she's... You know, she had a slight issue with me, not calling maybe as much as she'd liked. Or as much as you would have liked, I'm sure. Of course. I'd love to obviously check in more, but I wasn't able to because there's so much going on. And obviously when I'm explaining to her that, you know, I've been obviously a badger ceremony and...

She's a bit of a part. Are you talking about... Sorry, could you speak? Oh, mate. She's genuinely saying, I just know how to hear what you're talking about. She's just the rules of the badger. Yeah. The ceremony and night. The point I was getting to was one of the finest moments of my life. Obviously the win, obviously, with the badger's stitch. But I won Badger's Badger of the Year. What? You've had the players play around. Yeah, yeah. Badger's Badger. So you were voted by all the other badgers, that's the top badger. I mean, I'm sort of a badbie now. Have I got too much? Badger's Badger. Let's update the Wikipedia. Obviously I'm coming down. First, the badger's Badger. Well, congratulations. Very in mind, the big shout out to you as well, because we had a match against each other on the third day at Carnusti. Second day at Carnusti, which is actually the third hardest course in the world.

In the world, right? And he ripped it up, did ya? It was out of the scan of the text. It was almost like how... It was well known as quite embarrassing at times, you know, where he's like... I've been getting it up, fighting for bird. It was mental, when I played really well. I got five. BMW Prime next year. No, the podcast needs to make a representation. No, no. Please. Well, we'll have a look. But I'm not there yet. But anyway, I've got three and three points and then got to the last game. And I think that... I think say... It's a good scene. Yeah, a good scene. Well, that's okay. Come on, because we've got a fun podcast today. Just what we're talking about families. I just want to give a quick regards to your wife, Siddi. Oh, yeah. I was coming. I was at an event with Siddi last Monday. Yeah. And their respective wives were there. And they're chatting and they're getting really involved in the conversation. And then I've noticed a couple of the other sort of wives around the table of Chittin. And they're all talking about this book that they're reading. And I just want to make everyone aware of it, because I'm very new to understanding what this is about.

Now, as I understand it, it's basically fairy porn. And it's activating women all over the UK. So... All over the world. All over the world. All over the world. You know how like... You remember when 50 Shades came out? And it sort of changed the game a little bit. Sort of being cute, running out of rope and all of this sort of stuff. This book, as I understand it anyway, and learning from Siddi's wife here, is it involves sort of fairies and wolves, and all sorts of mate-believe characters. We'll have to ask Fordi's when he's in, because... No, he'll know something about it. Yeah, 100%. It's called something like a court. A court and something roses. Yeah. My gosh, mate, it's like... I can only thank you and your wife, because you start reading this book. It's like, game on. Yeah, it's going to be... Is it game changer? I have a look. Well, are you well, are you? I don't know.

I'd like to say this is just something that's... Honestly, there'll be people listening right now, who, if you're either reading it, or maybe your partner's reading it, will be able to vouch for it. It sounds mental. Can we do it together? Can we just... Just allow me to read it? What do you do? I haven't read it, but apparently it's... You should read it. Is it Racy? Yes. It's very dixacy. It's... It's... It's outrageous. It's addictive. I mean, like, people that, again, listen to it, if they're reading it or they're partners to read it, it gets up to where, if she's going to make a cup of tea, she will walk and read it while doing a cup of tea, or she's making a cake... It's a rock, or... Like... Is it really? Yeah. And we all benefit. We all benefit. Oh, Ive also will. The craft just be clear. It's about a magical land and fairies and stuff like that. It makes no sense to us. For me, games gone. I would argue games back in this instance, because... Fully bad. It's about five or an Amazon. I honestly wouldn't see... So, sitting in this Mrs. for the next day,

I've gone and ordered this thing on Amazon. It's turned up a day later. She loves it. So called? It's called a court... A court of Thorn and Roses. There's a lot of book there. I think it might be like 12 books or 18. Yeah, there's a lot. Oh, there's a lot. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I tell you what would be fun is, like, it could be a laugh, but... Just see what happens to listeners. Yeah, it's taken over. Like, this tick talks about it is... It's gone mad. It's massive. It's new 50 shades. Yeah. It's worth mentioning. Well, okay. You know, let's... What's the deal with this? We've got some analysts behind... I don't know what our team of people behind it. We'll get them reading a book. Pass you a couple. You're going to read them. Yeah, yeah. I know what Gazz is like, though. Yeah, that's four words. Oh, God, I just stuck together. And then... Can I answer that? No, you did. You already have. Keep it in. And then what? So you're... So you're going to treat us to a reading of this next week, maybe. I'd like to treat you to a reading of that.

Because some of the listeners, you know, we do have a lot of female listeners as well. You never know. It might just... It's going to take a while. It's podcast, could... Yeah. All right, okay. Moving into a new market, aren't we? Yeah. Oh, you're okay, perfect. Well, anyway, we've got a load of listener now in. Oscar's censoring in. One ball, one five pubes and two diet, two by des. As a proud hovian and a proud fan of the Seagulls, please never say hove ever again. Hove is the robin to Batman. A ginger to the pubes. You can very much appropriate without it. It doesn't make it better. Yes, is it needed? No. Brighton or Brighton Hove, Albion Forever. That's the first kind of negative thing I've had. Not on Jenny, because a lot of people were like, you know, ah, you know, Hove, it's a great shout. Yeah. What I said is they weren't tribal with it. No. It was like Oscar's taking that one a little bit to heart. We're only offering balance. That's what we're trying to do here. You know, there's a lot of lazy journalism where it's just referred to as Brighton.

What you're trying to do is stick up for the little... Yeah. Little work in that. Yes, exactly. I may offline at the moment as well since we're keeping in the hype. Absolutely. The way brands work in. You're not going to be proud of that. You're not going to be the result. You're not going to argue with the result. I mean, it feels like everyone we've got behind over the years has gone on to... Yeah. Great things. Like this, listen to the instance. He's gone to this one and he says, you love a holiday, so I've got a duty for 11. Oh, yeah. He thinks it will be all over it. You've got Brad Taxferidel. Yeah. Matt, you cash here. Love it. Lewis Trock. I see that. William Sail, Baylees. Yeah. I see the librae. Lee's Baylees. William Sail, Lee's Baylees. Layton Shades. Steve Sigswell. Yeah. That's a good one, Matt. That's a good one, Matt. Oh, yeah. Joe Blurowen, Belly. Yeah. No, it's it.

Martin O'Palfill. Love it. Thank you. Scott Skinker. Flywalk. Nicely done. Junior. Hoyl Trezz. Hoyla. He'll join you. Hoyl Trezz. Hoyl Trezz. Hoyl Trezz. Yes, yes. Yes. Of course, you got magic. Yeah, good job. No, I love it. I love the 11. I love the 11. The city, you do love a holiday, don't you? Just very quickly before we get into the main bit of the podcast. I was not part of it. I was, I was out of it. You were all way more than me. I think this is disgraceful. I was at a party on Saturday. Yeah. And there was a lad there called George. And he came up to me because he's a big fan of yours. Big, big fan. Yeah. Now, he was a mascot when he was younger. And he wanted to be your mascot. This was at Reading. But he landed Michael Dubry. Okay. Which is absolutely fine. Yeah. But he wanted you, he's sort of fellow ginger. And he wanted me to ask you at the next recording of the podcast. Is there any way we can recreate this at some point? So what I was thinking if you're open to it is we bring him along

and we just sort of redo the mascot walk outside. What do we do with this? There's a little cafe over there, right? I think it saves, it's said, isn't this lad come out? We'll have to cafe. Right. We'll cut the stairs and sit down. Oh god. You can send him on his way, give him your jacket or something. Right. Let's give a part of that. Let's give him his jacket. Oh, there you go. Just, yeah, exactly that. Give him his jacket. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, there you go. There you go. Just, yeah, exactly that. Give him his jacket and then he can go back to the train station. I think you do it again. And do it again. Do it again. I do that. I just wanted to see if you'd be open to the idea. I know it sounds mad, but I think for him it would just be sort of correcting a wrong from his youth. And I said, don't ask that. Okay, great. George, if you're listening, we'll try and make this happen. George, get in touch. Yeah. Can I be a mascot for a day? A mascot for the day? We're going ever to legends this now. No way, my cat, John, you know. Seriously today? Yeah. Like seriously, we start having a mascot every week for three of us walk out with different botlists from the little cafe, that's it.

I reckon that people might be keen on that. I reckon people would be keen for that. Yeah. That's a good one. Let's do it. Oh, I should get into four dice. Mm-hmm. Oh. Okay, um, joining us in the chamber one bar today is the man, the myth, the legend. It's the Tom Voskin. Oh, do you know what? Four dice, sorry. I've seen this place Chris so many times on the pod, and then I've walked in, and in my head it was massive, and it was real. To see it like this is a little bit of a shock. You've just shattered the illusion in your first sentence. Yeah, I mean, I almost thought the chairs might not be real, because nothing else seems to me. So you've got a lovely um, Chair, by the way. Yeah. This one actually was propped up before with like a, uh, come on, books. Books, books. Who is it? Yeah, it's been fixed now. The worst of all, Tom, is when you get like a big dunk or someone like that there, and you can feel it, can't you?

And the sofa, you sort of end up sort of moving into either side of it. Yeah. When you've got a big dunk there or a big sort of defensive player gets quite intimidating. Very rare to rescue issues with big dunk and Ki-O and was another one. Yeah. We've had to, in court, probably have a chair. Knees rubbing, that's just going to say that the feet are very close to Chris, aren't they? So big dunk just starts massaging your shin with his foot. Yeah. What did he rub my knee at one point? Yeah. You know, I didn't know what to do. I mean, I think the usual with big dunk is to do what big dunk wants. Absolutely. Absolutely, but welcome. I mean, I can't believe it's your first out into the chamber one bar. It's quite emotional, actually. Yeah. It is very emotional to be back here. Obviously, we caught up during the World Cup. We caught up in February time, didn't we? Off-code. But this is the first time that I've been sitting next to you holding a mic, Chris, for a long time. Yeah. Special moment. Yeah, I've been sending crowd cheer a couple of pictures from the old days. Nice. And it's amazing. You know on your phone, you can just type in a name and it shows up all the pictures. It's an amazing gallery of snaps. I mean, really, really is. You look really good.

Yeah, if we get into it, we can talk about the World Cup stuff as well, isn't it? I mean, what Chris sent me was, it was basically as with TIT. Oh, yeah. I've still got that. Do you remember that? I've still got that, Mark. The mark that went up was basically there was this company that were making marks with basically footballers, but how they pose would look if they are boobs. Football deserves to be. So, it's so sad. It does feel quite ridiculous this now. But if you were to imagine each one of us, what if you had a hairbrush, what they would look like? If you could match up to what the artist came up with. It's our way. What Chris did, all right, just... What would Chris's TITSE feel like? Coughley. I've been in for about three minutes. We've already descended into the gutter. We've got to put football chat straight away. We'll get into all that. But this person's back. I mean, Josh has just showed you. Yeah. So, you said he's here. See if you'd agree.

This is basically... I'm off still got that mark at home. Yeah, I'm off. They used to send them in, but there they are there. Who's done the best? Now, can you see why I was excited to see four dice again? Everyone who's seen mine said says there is no way in the world you would have a set as nice as that. That's a grey rack. It's a grey rack. It's good, isn't it? It's a grey rack. You've seen it since it's real like. You're lopsided. Yeah. Well spotted. You're also pretty cute. No, I'm kidding. That's cute. That's a crouch. That's nice. That's cute. I'll take it out, I'll take it out. And then they said there's another picture of us all dressed as nuns. Oh, yes. I've been trying to force that agenda for a while now. We do the odd episode dressed as nuns, but... Well, it just... It just saw that was very you, because I'm sure you were very non-heavy won't you? Yeah, I had some non-interests in that. And that episode of the poodle had me to explore them. You were the mother superior.

Absolutely. We were just two novices, weren't we? There was a certain part of you don't see it. It's not too far from me. We went to... I don't know why we were in one of my locals, but it was when we recorded in the back room, don't you remember? But then it got to the point where I haven't a few beers, and we had to go to the toilet. All of us could barge into the men's toilet just as nuns. At all. At the urinal. And it was a lard dot I knew who came in and was like, what on earth is going on here? It was also quite a school issues, Chris, weren't it? Because none of us had had to stand in front of a urinal wearing a habit before. And you go to the urinal when you need to use urinal suits. And suddenly you're like, you're in a habit. You know, there are no flies on a habit because they generally were born by nuns, so there were issues, weren't they? Yes, it's like you are lifting up. Three, three nuns. Three nuns. Three nuns, you are. You were really young in the pictures of an eye. I've seen in pictures. Yeah, just got for a shower, the OGs that you are. But we did it a long time.

We were in it. Yeah, we were 200 episodes. That's amazing. Eight years this week. I guess we've been saying. We've forgotten that. How do we not get this build up? Are we prior? Please. It's always on the week. It's always. So, you said this week, it's the eight year. That is insane because we had no idea. You didn't know what a podcast was. We just done your book. And the publishers had the idea of doing a podcast to help promote the book. You didn't know what a podcast was. We had maybe the night before we had a night out in the ultimarket, didn't we? And then we gathered at the mere hotel, which is where a lot of football is safe there. We're not the mere. Yeah, nice golf course. Very good. And we were in a massive room that was way too big for a podcast, so we had to try and squeeze into a corner. And there was a woman from publicity, the BBC, who had some slightly quirky ideas, Chris didn't she, for how we should publicise the book. We had about 40 minutes with Peter at this point.

They would be very strict on it. So, they had me and Tom basically ready to go for a quick photo with a big man, which would end up, I was told it was just a one-off thing, but then in the big picture, for the first part of three years. And we were dressed as the funhouse twins. Like a red and blue little number in Walk's Pete. And it is mad, I do remember that time. I remember the aura when you came into the room, Crouchy. Really? And I remember we did that little podcast. I was told it was just a little, you know, they'll see if they like it. And next thing we know, it was beginning. And it was going so big so quickly. It just did, didn't it? I mean, it really took off. It was a mad time in my life. And I suppose you always as well. What are your favourite moments across the world? I think it was those ones. There was the episodes where it, we just felt like it was the three of us sitting around talking nonsense.

Where you'd go into a pub and then you'd order a drink and then the person next to you would go, love that story about bum, bum, bum. And then you thought, hang on, this is more than just the three of us sitting around. Crouchy face was ludicrous, wasn't it? The point where Liam Gallagher walks into this tiny dressing room. And he was full on Liam, like he wasn't just like behind the scenes of Liam. He had a massive vodka tonic, like a sort of quadruple vodka tonic, didn't he? And the point where we walk on the stage, the crowd don't know that Liam's coming out. And then they spot him in the wings and he comes on the noise then. And also those weird little things we've talked about before, people were on stage at Crouchy Fest. And we had those inflatable balls behind the sofa. And we started booting them off into the stage like we were Rod Stewart or something. And I started knocking some crosses over for Crouchy on the far side of the stage. Obviously I'm not professional football, my delivery was poor. And I sent one miles behind you and Pete just adjusted his body in the flash of an eye, swiveled, hit this beautiful side volley.

I remember thinking, you're fucking, oh yeah, he's a football player. He's trading the big car. Play for England. I don't remember on that night. One of my favourite things was George, who was sort of producing everything at the time, going into my ear and saying, just feel like we've had to cancel the net and just feel when it was like, but it was good 15, 20 minutes of feeling. And we just got you to go to the front with a car machine. Oh yeah. And it was basic if the crowd could guess. Did you see the other sisters there? No, I was in the crowd. I was watching that one. Yeah, because we met backstage, didn't we? We have to. And I was like, I'm not going to be a producer George, anyway, as because the idea was that if the crowd could guess, crowd she's pinning over. That was a good buy drink for everyone in the stadium. Which was a risk. It was a risk. It was a risk. It was a massive risk. But then I have to start getting involved. And I thought she was going to tell people what it was. And then we'd George would mad, didn't he? Yeah. This cannot. That's my serious, I've heard him in our office. This do not put that number in the car machine.

Do not do it. Yeah. We were like, what is fun? No, it's late now. Yeah. I think the overall memory for me, and I don't know if this is the same for you, Chris, was just we were in absolute shambles. You know, we didn't know what we were doing. You didn't know what podcast was. The live stuff when we did the rehearsal for Cratchface was a calamity. You know, when we were trying to go through the script, we couldn't remember what we were doing. Nothing worked and we thought this is going to be. Oh, there's another script. I was in absolute shambles. You know what that was? I was there. And I remember thinking, that was shit. What we just did there, when we went through the rehearsal. I went, that was terrible. And then it just all came together on the third time. And we had that point, Sid, and you were there, so you saw it. We had a moment, which for me summed up the madness of the pod, which is you had Liam Gallagher, one of the greatest frontmen in rock and roll history, standing next to piss off Carl, with their arms around each other.

And there was no other way. No other way in the world that could have happened. That whole Carl's tomorrow, and I still live on. I was like, I think the Carl Vikaia, and I was like, I'm going to get it with time. I was like, hi, my name's Carl, and then they go, we've a cake. That's the thing. Even if the podcast ended tomorrow, I do think we've all... And it's the same with your nicknames as well. There's these little things I feel we've inputted into the world of football, or the general culture around this podcast. It is cool. What were your favourite nicknames for yourself, Tom? Which is the strong nickname. We gave you a bit of the cycling stuff. You still cycling? Yeah, got back into it, actually, this summer. The weather's been ideal for cycling, Chris. As in the full cleats, the light ground. I think if you're going to do it, you've got to come up to it. The cycling is still going on. I think the other thing, thinking about the memories from the early days of the pod,

there was something else that happened at Crouch Fest, where I think I was trying to explain something to the crowd. We had a game based on something we talked about on the pod. And I was doing this slightly convoluted explanation. And as I'm explaining what we're doing, I've got this massive wave of recognition back from the 2000 people, and I thought, oh yeah, they know. They know what's happening. Yeah. Because you don't realise to you, I suppose, when you're sitting in this little room now, when people kind of go out to, what about you, Sid, so you know when you go around the place now, the last people they've been able to shout and think, it's been a life, it's all a couple were on a risky golf trip. Any good ones? Well, apart from Bob and Fire, Fire pubes. The biggest one for me was when putting his massive... Oh, that was a great one. And people were shouting out, or being the other restaurant, and then getting served and sort of the other way to go and put it in the mess. You're dropping out, but actually the moment, I think he's going to be staying strong for a long time, he's regards your family.

Yeah. He's big. That's really, really more on that one. There was a real turnaround around that one time, where it has slightly changed the narrative between behind what was being shouted. And actually, it has been quite respectful. Since the story of last week, I've obviously lost a ballac as well. Yeah. That was a pretty major thing. But we spoke, you're right, we went and had a couple of drinks, not too long ago, didn't we? With Doug Zee as well, yeah. Yes, you met my mate Doug Zee, yeah, it's true. I think you might have met him before. But I guess what'll be interesting as well is kind of what you've been up to. I know there's a new Joe Marla book, which I saw your name on the book. There is a new Joe Marla book, yeah, which is out this week, actually. Well, you know Joe, you know Joe. You'll get to meet Joe. I'll be here. Of course you did it when he was late that time. Very late. Yeah. So what have I been up to? Yeah, doing a lot of books. So you've got a book with Joe coming out. I did a book with Boris Becker last year, which is... Oh! Oh! Oh! There's a story, Christmas.

When we retire after this pod, and I may have a beverage, I'll tell you the story. But probably in its set, it's like 25 minutes or so for that story. Is it worth 25 minutes of your time? Is it in the book? No, it couldn't be in the book. It couldn't be in the book. Wow. It should be. Guy, I think I said it should be. It's a multi-layered story. So a book with Boris, a book with Joe. Obviously, did a podcast with Joe for a long time, podcast with Gerrard. So it's been a nice time, but... Do you know what? It's been quite strange in some ways, because time has flown by since I was in the pod. So I was checking out the last episode I did on the way on the train down here. It was 2021. Oh, there. That seems impossible that it's been five years. Five years. Wow. And this pod, you know, it's such a big thing. And watching what you boys have done with it has been fantastic. Keeping eye on it, watching the adventures you've been having, watching all the guests, watching all the japes. Or I just feel like this sense of pride that I was part of the pod at what you boys have done.

It's really hard to keep things successful over, but this is the ninth year. And it's still amazing. People still love it, don't they? People still love it. Yeah, they do. They always talk about it. I think we all love it, don't we? That's the thing. It's not really a job. Sort of pretends to miss it. It's worth. Off to work. Yeah. Ultimately, you were... We were on catch up after doing the golf. Obviously, flew back late last night. 11 o'clock and everyone's talking, I'll wait up to tomorrow and stuff. That's how it works. Yeah, we're all coming in since it's going to be here. Quite work, you get on with it? Yeah. Not really, is it? So it's probably World Cup. Yeah, a nice time out there. It's obviously good for you not to be out there, Chris. You know, probably in Genoa. I would have loved it. It's so hard, because... I'd be my dream come true to go to a World Cup. And some of the stuff, I think going to see in there, being in the England camp, I think no other podcast was there. I think I was extraordinary, really. Seeing you get your legends cap. And all of it from afar was amazing. And it was kind of intriguing World Cup.

And doing the games at very unsocial hours was kind of an odd one. But my God, I would have loved it. A lot of fun times. We missed you. We did because... You know, you're talking about work there. It was one of those things where I'd get back and people go, what was it like? And I had to say, initially, I would try and pretend that it was hard because you feel like you have to. I'd been away, yeah, I'd work. And then I was like, well, we were sitting around in the sunshine talking about football. And when we weren't sitting around in the sunshine, talking about football, we were playing paddle, or we were going to an excellent bars, playing an an extraordinary games. And none of it felt like work. So we missed you out there, Chris. Did you get my cycling in Tom? Do you know what? On the final day, I did most of the get a cheeky little ride in. There's some bikes at the hotel. Went for a little ride, sent the boys a video. Are you living in fancy? No, I'm not. I'm living in your back. No, for me. Do you know what, Chris? I don't know if you've played paddle. Everywhere, every sort of man between the age of 2016,

the country, it's now, so. It would have been great to have you out there for the paddle, not least, so I wasn't alone as the only non-former, non-professional sports person because the competitiveness, the quality of those morning paddle games. I mean, that came against Caspar. Or when we went down to the final volley at the nets. Proper games. We were getting up there, it was nice, actually. Caspar's Michael was around, re-ofer, and I turned up, didn't he? Robbie Key. Robbie King pulled his car, people. He was a basketball player, one stage player, one of his teammates. What position sort of is the better paddle player, would you say, is it, does it favor a goalkeeper or? I thought I felt like Caspar really improved his game over the course of the... That suggests there was a bit, shit. No, no, no. It was a strong backhand. You got very, very good by the end. It's ruthless as well. It's a point where he targeted my face. Yeah, remember that. He did. Player's player, Badger's Badger. Badger's Badger.

Potentially. That is good because we were very... Caspar was very much involved in our group, wasn't it? So it was nice to... Yeah. I was having really good luck. Right, so we got you here. Weekends football. So until we're able to weekends football action. Lost count on Chelsea Luzin. Mental game at the Etihad with Man City, Sunlin. Take on it? Well, the train I've just got down for Northwest of England is quite a few Sunlin fans on the train because obviously they were just laid over in Manchester last night. And you've never seen a load of fans so happy to have conceded five goals. It looks absolutely delight. They're all talking about Brian Bobby. I think he was one of those games, wasn't it, where sometimes you'd cut a 5-3 and you think that's chaos. Sometimes you'd cut a 5-3 and you think it's got to be a thriller. And this one was somewhere in between the two. Because Sunlin were never out of it. This new city are really interesting, aren't they? Because they've got some elements of the Guadiole city, but they're much more open. They haven't fully clicked. A bit chaos.

What do we think? A couple of big chances. There was a world there. You'd probably expect them to get out. I predicted before the season started, didn't I? I think one of them was like quirky predictions, wasn't it? What's going to happen this season? And I said there's going to be like an 8-1 or a 9-2. 5-3 is not far from it, but I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of this. So why is that? I don't know. I just think he's more open now for this season. I'm a little bit more like... There's been a bit of clinical. I think players are sometimes... I think just mentally changing as well. I don't know why. I think there's definitely going to be more entertainment this season than any other season. I also think teams like Sunlin as well. I can't remember going there with Stoke. It was disgusting. I remember having banks. You just know how you could break his down. You still got battered, didn't you? We actually battered. Yeah, but Mum Dufre and the other end of the pitch. Oh, did. German. But all the way up there, and we scored, and then we went back to being disgusting. And it was like, right, we knicked a 1-0. But, you know, I think now Sunlin go there, scored three goals there. You know, there's more emphasis on the attack

and I think less care, really. I mean, sometimes pride in defending. I'm not saying that for Sunlin's perspective, because it's very defensively good at times. Obviously, I just think there's less, like, kind of emphasis on defending now. Do you think? Yeah. Yeah. Also, I don't think where, a few years ago, you could, sort of, put your hat on a certain result. I don't think you can now. People are saying now about when you're not going to bring it for law or brighter, or, you know, whoever you've been even Sunlin. You know, you can't, bank or go and I'll be there. That's three points now. Like, everyone's sort of arranged where anyone can be anyways. Just kind of slowly turn into the championship kind of thing, isn't it? Well, yeah, especially when you put that alongside the Arsenal result from the weekend. You know, it suddenly, so it looks very interesting. So, don't you look at that bright and brimful as well, and you think of, you know, managing eye Chelsea losing there. The top four, you know, maybe Spurs back there and Liverpool.

Is there a potential for a team like that to even go in the Champions League? I think so. I mean, you've got to consider that. Well, I just think they're not what they were. They're the elite teams. No. So, you'd probably say, I think probably all of us would say, that Arsenal and City are guaranteed Champions League places. Quite a part of anything else, quite a part of the title. But when you look at the teams that might otherwise fill those spaces, if you look at Liverpool, if you look at, well, Spurs are nowhere near. If you look at United, there's flaws in all those teams. Chelsea are a working progress under a Lancer Series. Absolutely an opportunity for someone. Yep. Might be Brighton. Might be Brimford. Could be any of those teams someone to get into the top four. No questions or exciting. It feels like this, you know, it's sort of winding the sales with Brighton, that actually could see them get through. And you can't, you can't be a big name. You're a big fan. My apologies, sir.

I was saying, you're correct to me. Hope. Hope. But hope are flying. Why not? Really well. So, we discussed, we discussed, discussed, hope, then, for ages without realising. Yeah. So, yeah, institutionalised. Who would you have all the teams, right? If you could have a season ticket for any of the Premier League clubs, let's assume you're a neutral, okay? Which one would you go for? So, you've got a factor in here, entertainment, you've got a factor in all those things of watching that team, the excitement around that team at this point in the season. Who would you go for? I'd go sundering properly. Would you? Yeah. I like to watch Chelsea the other day in the Brighton. That was a great game. That would be mine, Chelsea. Only because they were shipguels in a meal school, let it go. I've got a new hospitality bit up there as well. I lost the presence. It's a bit of a hospitality bit up there. We will have a look at that. We will. So, can you go out on that?

I want to go for some sundering striker as well. What a good broad name. Brobie. What a name, what character. Loved in Vrages. What striker. Am I right in this? For those who know, is it first hat trick scored in like 19 years or something? Where you're on the losing team. It will be something like that. It will be something like that. A matletitier come up and say, Welcome to the club. Oh, yeah. It's happening. Is there anything about it? I bet he hasn't done it twice though. Do you know when you saw Brobie leaving the pitch with the matchball, he stuck it under his jersey to give the, you know, the pregnancy look. That's a practical thing because you can still shake hands with people. Is there anything about scoring a hat trick in defeat though where you don't really feel like you can walk off for the matchball giving it the big one? It's almost like you've got a pop it up under the shirt. I want to keep it, but we've been being... Why don't you make Deena? Get it in the back. Oh, no. I might do that. I might do that. Pure bounce. Haaland was... Haaland was walk around the pitch.

We called it ship Brobie as well. Oh, that was the crowd. Yeah. I think he quite enjoyed it. That's not right. There was one game in particular this weekend which felt like Premier League throwback. I felt like we were back in 1995 when you look at that fixture. And it was quite nice to me the forest Coventry One. Oh, nice. The forest Coventry, yeah. So you're thinking of like... Steve Stone. Steve Stone, maybe you can tell you're sharing him up front. Yeah. Against Craig Bellamy. No, no. That's just... Yeah. Marcus Hall. Marcus Hall. Yeah. David Barrow's. David Barrow's. It gives us a few more names of forest. Forest. Ian Wown. Brian Roy. Yes, yeah. Colin Cooper. Colin Cooper. Gary McCallister for Coventry One. Scott Gamel. No, we can't. He's like one big, like Pavlovie and Beckett. He's like being back in the States, is he? He's like being back in Los Angeles. It's free in the morning in the barn. Yeah. But it wasn't them.

It was the new breed. Fair play on forest were booted off at home. Not ideal. For them. Glansen is a funny one for me there, because with all respects of forest, who are obviously a proper club got a lot of mates with forest fans, when you look at what Glansen did at Palace Chris, I really felt like he had quite a wide range of options. And forest were a massive club, great support, but you look at their owner and the rate he gets through manages isn't fair. It's not really a secured job. Well, you slightly surprised these... No, it's gone for a while. I kind of feel like you're sort of accepting you've got to bend the knee and start with him, because we've all seen how we react on the pitch. God knows what it's like, you know, off it. But he must know what he's signing up to there, and I assume he's been incentivised in other ways. True. Very true. Very true indeed. But stalled again. There's a point in Starfist's potnacle league. Yeah. Freeing around as well, they were.

Yeah, they were, yeah. But this phrase, it will come good. It's been used quite a lot now. Yeah. When does it become? I've seen a few of my pals there again. I'm not concerned. They'll click. They'll click. When? It's not been much clicking so far. Is this the week? It really is turning on a sort of spurs and united front. Really is that where it really could be? I mean, if you think about their spelling over it. A draw full of, for instance, some main-night race. I know it's not correct. But like, considering where you're knighting are in the world, I think last year that'd been an okay result. Yeah. Not all, but it felt like the fallout from it was like, bad. You know, this is terrible. I mean, Gary never called it the worst fifth game. This is ever-seed. Yeah. The big shout, isn't it? I mean, they are managed by the Spanish Rylian. Aren't they? Yeah. The Spanish Rylian. Have I not heard this? I think that's a city. It does a bit of a population in South home. There was a couple of people like, looks good, this fellow.

I play with them. Of course you did. Yeah. What's your name? It's a character. It's quite actually. There was never a shout-out or, you know, a really well-despanish lad. You had a real Spanish group in the other. A little Spanish collection of players. Well, as someone who's played for full-time, you look at what a full-time leader and the Marcos silver. They're another one of the overachievers, really. I mean, that's a good way. They're one of the overachievers in the Prem. When they've gone for Arbaloa, bearing in mind his track record, what happened at Madrid, is this a good fit? Are we going on the name here? Are we going on his actual coach and credentials? I mean, they have recruited well in terms of previous coaches. You'd like to think they would have learned lessons from before. They've slowly become a really established Premier League team. They always want to improve on that. I was worried for them before this season. I don't think there was, like, as in,

relegation down the earth, where they would always be sort of above it. But it's not a medical start from. Great result. Good performance against Liverpool away from home. They should rule character. The funnily that I think the week after, and they got their first win. And then, I mean, the point against United at home is decent. But I think the football fans aren't overly impressed at the minute for what I'm hearing. I haven't been down there yet. I haven't watched them. But I'm not sure. Yeah, more than times for the nation, you know, as well. Yeah. Should we get to some predictions? Yeah. Therapy's biggest impact doesn't show up in some dramatic breakthrough. It shows up in the smallest moments. You bite your tongue instead of escalating. You put your phone down instead of firing off that text. Well, this part of the podcast is for my buddy, Pair. We've got a football league. And in our football league, Tom, I've been having a bit of a bit of a turret so far.

But this week I didn't. You know, very please be yourself. I've very please myself. I got a correct score, which was new cost of all. 2-1. I've got four points. Because you got two and it's got none. Which is just, I've just leapfrogsids. As we talked about the craft's potential crafts for fit. That would end up being a slightly mid-season for fit. This is the idea that's a good craft for this. I think we might have even float this idea when you were involved, Tom. It was, you know, the full craft's experience, dressing up as a dog and being led around. I'm not going to take a close. Claire Bolding. Yeah. You don't probably have commentators. We potentially suggested that we would lead SIDS out on his run. Yeah. It might be if he's, this is does it? Why have you made him my name? Well, I was just out of this journey because you're a bottom-in-bomb moment. No, I don't. But I like, you know, on me. I actually really don't want to come bottom ace. No, I know, I know.

I don't want to come bottom ace. But after we were quite fresh after your fourth hit and it actually, he's only going to get worse and I'm thinking, I do not want to be bottom of this. No, it's not even about winning. It's not even about being top. It's, it's, it's been second. That's why it's leading the world. It's, it's so stick no care. It's, it's the only league of the world where finishing second, you're happier than being top. Because you've just got away with it. Before we answer the predictions, Ladd, obviously, why the football not campaign, when it's a talk about Brighton fans, oh, sorry, my god, how dare I. Take it privilege please. Yeah, I'm so, so sorry. Ho fans, Chan Singh, are you Tottenham and the sky's awesome? Good job. Great job. Well, I put more not. Yeah. It's, uh, where would you put that? What category would you put it? It's not Charles. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, yeah. It's, yeah.

It's classic, yeah. Absolutely. It's a, yeah. I, I feel this whole, why the football not thing is really working quite well for this beginning part of the season anyway. We've had all the, the different chance now. It's a rival thing. I mean, this is, this is kind of what TikTok and Instagram is now. It's just different fan bases doing stuff for each other. Yeah. I suggested some more last week. Yes. Oh, not yet caught on. I think we were slightly ahead on other people on this front as well. We had the clubs and, um, ahead of the curve. I've, I've yet to see the whole stand do, you know, you're getting sucked by the toffee's or turn. That's nice. No, no, no, no. Turn by the potters. There's, there's also, there's other chance that they, I was at, I was at the when's they a stop port game that we came to referee had a, you know, difficult game. And people were accusing him of being someone who pleasures himself. Hmm. They know it's the classic. And I was thinking, it's a pleasure to himself. I was thinking this is the most hypocritical Chris of all chance because almost everybody in that stadium who is accusing this referee of doing that thing has done that thing

themselves. Yeah. It's a bit like accusing the referee of breathing. You could poil actually. Yeah. That's such a valid point. Who can hold their hand up in a particular fist gesture and not say they haven't done the thing that they're accused of? Oh, I'll let you go again. Sure as a few of us have done that. Just with regards to moral part of the title, you know, yeah. Well, you, is that what you can say? Yeah, no, we went on a dog trip recently. He was bad just versus Foxes. And the, well, I suppose the boss really, the mainly of the lads that they work for, he's a half-man. And because he's a fox, the song is, he's getting more by the badges. We'll talk to him. We'll talk to him. We'll talk to him. We'll talk to him. On the set on the weekend. On the golf course. He's idiot. So the back of the bus. You look back as the tiger, the foxes sit at the front and the badge is at the back. It's called the Badger Arms. You look back while they're singing it and they're all doing it.

So next morning, gesture actually. The badger could mop, which Charlie did on the weekend. Oh, yeah, I see. I actually like that out of all of them, the popped by the cherries one, it is actually good because it's quite football related. Because you know, when the L.A.'s come out, you know, especially if you're a ballmouth, you're popped by the cherries, you've been popping the ball around. Yeah, it's nice. It's nice to see. But you want to see a crowd of people doing it. You know, it's seen a lot of just sort of solo videos of people doing this. And I want to see whole stands embracing it. Is it, what's it like? Hold, do we know? I see more people embracing this thing now. Oh, it's really cool. You'd want that. If you've got a ticket for the match day there, you want, you want to do that at some point, don't you? I think so, yeah. It's kind of part of the experience now. Three quarters of the stadium now doing it. You've got a double interest. You've got a double-handed malling. Yours was a single-handed. No, it's not because I was holding my OEC. You've got to do it in private. No, you have to do it. It's a duck. You have to.

That's not a tiger or an ex-site bike. Yeah. But you have to extend it. No, don't. That's the mall, isn't it? Yeah, that's where a poor in becomes a mall. The reach. You can't beat yourself. Means. Me. Why the football not? Why the football not? England's playing. England, well, eight to five. Spain just edged a sixth form. I mean, our world champions, you would expect that. I've done a way you see it. I mean, you have got to make a decision on this, Tom. What can I borrow, Tom? Can he play for me? I think on this one you can, because internationalals is top league, don't you? I'm drawing in. Yeah, that'd be nice. You know, we don't know who's going to pull out, who's going to be arrested, who's going to be traveling for Spain. What is there? It's a bit of a lottery. Well, it always has been, isn't it? It always has been. Well, we actually know. It's a total lottery. It isn't this one, it's silly season. Do you remember what we've said about this before? It's like, you know, if you ever go through a toll

and then there's just no road markings. No problem. You're just going to fucking free-fall. Oh, there's only a total of two. Why can't you register the whole? That's the international break. Which, by the way, it's three weeks. Three weeks international. That's a double, isn't it? Yeah. Well, and it's actually the right face. Exactly the right face. It's the point where, on a Saturday morning, you've forgotten it's the international break. And you get up all the way to the Saturday and you're waiting for the early game. And then you realise, and it's... Oh, yes. It's just that little... Get back into Maidenet a bit. Joe, I do have Non-League. Non-League, that's all. Yeah. Oh, go down there. Could we finally do the periscope thing at Maidenet? Yeah. That would be nice. We'll have a look at that. Because the rules are weird there, you know, with the booze at your latter booze on the side. Yeah. You have to do it behind a fence. That's the sort of situation. In a periscope. Actually, I think you can booze there now. I think they got relegated again. Didn't know you were shooting there. You were a bit scared. Yeah. Okay. England, Spain. Yes. I... I'm going to this game. Um... I'm doing my boys' service on Freux Siver. In some sort of work capacity?

No, no, just purely for pleasure, yeah. Is that the Legends cap? You just doff that on the entrance and you get straight? No, I guess we're straight in. We're a plus two. We're a plus two. Oh, yeah. Can I regard it as your families? I don't know what we're going to go with. I'm going to go with... I'll go. We're not going in two one. In the two one. I think we're just actually... I think we've just been at home... Big game for Tom's Tuckle. Yeah. It's not the ideal game you'd want after the World Cup. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird game. It's a weird one, isn't it? It's a weird one, isn't it? You know, the odds are obviously favouring Spain here. However, as you say, England at home... The whole world. The whole world. ...who are potentially not playing just before we recorded this. I saw that minor injury there. You can list on for us as your assistant to the low. So what would you like? What are you fancy... What are your feelings for... I don't like going against England on that note. I know. I know. And they will let me be the excuse to go against them

because Spain are World Champions, European Championship. Yeah, Champions. They are a super-eotechnical team to end at this point. Why are you espionage? We can hear you. No, I like it. Confirmation. You can't conquer. You think that builder working on the wall there is England fan. I like this vibe, but it gives us a kind of rocky and Mickey situation. Yeah, it's... My favourite thing is... ...I mean, Jenny's here on two unspaintings. Two unspaintings, all right. All right. To well, what? Yeah, go on. Two unspaintings. I'll be able to do it. It's probably the wrong way. The proud Englishman who is about to do that himself. Yes. I'm the go for the draw then. Yeah. Camon's opinions, two two. A two two, good game then. We do have Portugal against Wales next. A slightly disappointed one, they Portugal. I mean, is Ronaldo still playing? Is this happening? He's done. Isn't he? He's done. I think so. Did he announce his retirement? Are we not ahead of the curve?

It's all changed, isn't it? Because Martin has gone. Right. Did you see the free kick? Have you seen this Ronaldo is in defence, right? And he calls one of the players off the wall. I assume this is from last weekend. I just saw it before came in. He calls one... He does two man wall. He brings one of the players back. And then whoever's taking the free kick just puts it in round the side. Ronaldo stood there like this. It's kind of like that's a mad situation at that club where he's kind of taken charge of everything. I don't know how Ang is sort of dealing with that situation. Who's in the squad? I didn't think he'd retire. He's in the squad for this world. I don't know. Craig, go to the Meesterlot Wales, isn't he? He's done a very good job. Yeah, I really, really just. Still personally don't think that they can get in from this game. No, no. I am going to go for... It's cool. Three or one Portugal. You're going goals, goals, goals.

I'm going to go to Neil Portugal. See, I was tempted by two now or something like that Tom. I think Portugal winning this one Chris. It depends whether we go one, whether we go all in with it. Okay. Higher. Yeah. And it's international. So one now it could end up being quite... Yeah. I know why he couldn't have been disappointed. Why are you whispering to Joe? It's a good choice. It feels like they're on a game show. Okay. Okay. Okay. We're going to go one now. Good evening, Peter. Family four chains. They've got one more now. Move, move, move, move, move, move, move. It's nice to live, it's a big old gym. Good game. It feels like a good game, but is it a good game? So I'm saying, now I'm Bruce Fawzler. Which is interesting because we potentially won't have a quiz at the end, no? I haven't known. What do you want to go for, guys? What do you think Chris might get here? Italy, obviously, a big miss in the World Cup Belgium, went further. Most people thought they would, but are still aging. This feels to me very much like a draw, Chris.

Hornidraw, I reckon. One all. Yeah. Lovely. Hornidraw. I'm going to go for a Italy win. I'm going to go for two one. Are you? Sid is astonished. I am astonished. Oh, yeah. They've got about Spatch, number one, but... No, not qualified for World Cup again. Yes, we absolutely. Yeah. This is their game, Spatch. No, after the... It's in front of their own fans. Italy are the Spurs of the Nuts. They are the Hornbars. Spurs. I can give, I can give, I can give, I can give. Well, the Asuri, the Spurs of. You're on a piss round with the Italian, Sid. You piss, Sid. He's out right now. Let's get off this. One new bell, John. One new bell, I know. Let's get off it. OK, please remember the odds are correct. So, I'm calling please, Gambra, it's possibly.
