Hi everybody and welcome to the RHAP B&B for week three of Survivor 51. My name is Mike Bloom and we have yet another jam packed episode to break down here with a couple of brutal departures, cuts that hit me harder than the ones on the bottom of Rob's feet. That is saying a lot. We got a lot to get into and I'm so excited that much like Lewis and Carter this week, I feel like I'm in the middle because I am joined by both people who I get to play Survivor games with every week this fall. First, of course, the divorce, Donna, how are you? Doing wonderful although I missed the boat by accident and now I'm stuck here doing the B&B, but you know what, I'm happy because of our wonderful guest this week. If I didn't nickel every time I was a default choice, I wouldn't need to,
I wouldn't need to play Survivor, but regardless, I'm so thrilled to welcome this person to podcast to talk about the frail state perhaps that Rob was left in the frail state of that majority alliance on Toka as well. Mary Kukowski, how you doing? Doing good. Yeah, excited to be here. I've rebranded my entire podcasting personality is just a game central. So welcome. You knew need over to game central now. I did. I did. You know, I like it over here. So I take, I take a lot of inspiration from the B&B. Well, let's talk about your thoughts on this particular game because I mean, we are three for three in my opinion of immensely eventful and enjoyable episodes, but I don't want to put words in your mouth. What have your thoughts been about 51 so far? I would say like if, if episode one started me out as like, so let's, let's remove the bias that that returning player seasons bring in because it's so fun to just like see people come back. But for new player seasons, if I would rank, I would probably,
I'd have to rewatch, but I'd say like episode one, I started, I came in. No expectations had, I came in like a casual had done no prior research. And I left that episode being like, wow, I'm surprisingly high for this season. I, I, it was like, it was like a seven and a half to eight out of 10 for me. I was like, this is pretty good. Love, love what's happening. There's a lot of new stuff. And then it's only climbed since then episode three, all of my friends who are watching, we all text each other and we're like, was that like an amazing episode of survivor? Or is it just me? I mean, are we just like overhyping this because we're having fun? I completely agree. I think not only do the individual episodes stand on their own, but I think it's also been a very fun three episode arc with, if you think about all the different sagas, okay? So like, let's think about the rob saga, the finding the idle, the battling with road island, the battle over road island or whatever it was. Then we have the attempted vote out and then his ultimate quit. Yes, it's a quit. Then you have like the Carter saga over like everything that Carter went
through from, you know, the fact that like he has the misunderstanding about the crabs to missing the boat on accident. Like there's just so many little nuggets that even over the course of like these three episodes tell this cohesive story, they really just make this season so fun so far. Well, not to mention again, I would not say this is necessarily a strategy forward season, but all three votes have been so interesting so far, which again, if we look a lot at especially recent seasons, the first few votes have been so cut and dry. This is, I guess what, what would the opposite be like paste and wet? Is that the opposite of cutting dry? No, I don't think anyone's using that as a phrase. Well, paste and wet season. I mean, think about the fact and I treated about this, but think about the first episode, Poco goes to tribal council and we get this weird, fluid, live situation somewhat where Devon and jelly are they were they started in this not
majority alliance, like the most solid alliance built in the early hours of the of the season then gets torn apart when Alia gets voted out episode two, you talk about arcs, here, Leana. Okay. Now we have this alliance of five and it's only 10 people, but it seems like they have the numbers and then they come back to their second tribal council as Toka and they get blindsided in a six to five vote. Like, even though we got a six to four vote and a six to five vote back to back, I have spent nights the past half decade praying for times like this, let alone for the happen back to back in episode two and three of a season. And the thing is like when they had, I do think larger tribes creates this. Now it's, it's possible that you have a large tribe and they all just go, okay, I let's vote out the easiest person and that will probably happen occasionally, but you have the ability to have multiple alliances who all think they have the numbers when you have bigger tribe numbers.
When you only have six people, if you see three people together and the other three people are not together, it's like, okay, well, we got a three in a two and a one, like what are we doing here? It's a two obvious where the numbers are and it's two obvious. Either like who the biggest threat is to vote out or who the weakest link is, we kind of can kind of see it going either way, but it's really hard to have votes where you've got multiple names out there that are receiving large numbers of votes and multiple people thinking that the vote is going to go their way. Yeah. So yeah, it's just, it's refreshing. Yeah, there's just like more permutations of possible outcomes, right? Because you have more people and it's really interesting to see where even on, you know, this last vote where it's a six to five vote, you still have killby thinking like, well, don't worry because, you know, Brody's, let's go, man, or whatever, right? So then there's still even within that control or Brody. You think it's all a Brody? Yeah, there's like still there's so, there's so many connections, which I think really allows for this.
And I would even say like we had two really close votes, but even the six to two vote from the first episode, like yes, ultimately it did end up being more of a majority. However, that being said, it was still a live tribal. So I would still put that out there as, you know, a bit up in the air as well, that not just like a pure, okay, the majority knows what they're doing. It's fine. Deadlock, like we know what we're doing here. So that I think that that also is what makes every single episode so fun when the outcome is really up in the air. Yeah, I mean, you talk about up in the air. I don't think we really have any solid majority, which is I think especially important going into this swap, which has been pretty much, you know, outright referenced in the next episode, where again, the most solid group in the game besides this helicopter alliance that was immediately split up was this group of five in Toka and they just got outvoted. You know, the were the reasons why Lewis and Carter flip, besides just for the lulls is because they feel like, hey, we could be on the bottom of a really
solid group or maybe be on the top of this rag tag bunch of misfits that as you mentioned, Leana are less so six and more so like a three and a three or a two and a one and a three. Just take all the sort of permutations that I think opens up the game for lack of a better term. But there's there's three big events. I think we need to walk through here in this episode. It starts with someone who walked from the game and it sucks again that, you know, there's so much to get into with this episode, so much great stuff. But I feel like the discourse by and large and I'm not completely surprised by it has been around what happened in the first seven to ten minutes here, which is Rob's departure. Like you said, Leana, the end of truly more of the most unpredictable arcs we've seen, especially from a character that last two and one eighth episodes essentially. So Mary, I need your perspective on the Rob A experience and what
your thoughts were when all outright say it as well, he quit the game. So I don't normally appreciate quitters. I think the occasional quit in Survivor is exciting and does add a level of, hey, this is hard. This game is hard to the show that kind of proves its point. I do think there should be both on the show and outside the show, like production-wise, I think there should be some sort of penalty-ish from quitting the show. Now that penalty might just be like, you're not invited back ever. Like that kind of thing. I mean, I think that's pretty much written in invisible ink. Sure. And so like I think that's fine. It could be, it could be, hey, we're going to give you a bad edit basically. And honestly, for someone who quit the game, he got a pretty favorable edit for the first two episodes, a big exciting character. And then they were like, we're not going to pretend. And they felt like that bird in his first confessional this episode.
Yes, because you can't lock people into needing to stay. I would rather someone, if they wanted to leave, I would actually rather them just like quietly behind the scenes kind of convince everybody else to vote them out. Actually, here's what we haven't seen. I want to see the rom-com dating trope of like get them to break up with you. I want to see that. Nobody has gone like full scorched earth. Like I just want to cause chaos in the effort to get voted out. Like that's what I want to see. I want to see Rob give his idol to Carter Eric or somebody and then be like, I'm about to cause a ton of chaos. And then just, you know, whether you're Jatia throwing the rice in the fire, whether you're like just, you know, spreading information all around like this. I mean, I don't want everybody to do this, but I want to see it happen once. I mean, I feel like we did see it once and its name was Brandon hands. Okay, I know you're going to say that. So I'm not, I don't know, because I don't believe that that was like that. I want to see someone do it in the positive
prank way. I want to see someone do it in the like, I want, I want to be voted out, but I can't, I don't want to just tell everyone, oh, whoa, me out. I want to go home. I don't want to see that. And yeah, here, my main thought on the whole Rob situation that was, this is like more of a big brother thing, but in Survivor, what I want is when someone is out has left the game, whether they got voted out, whether they quit, whatever. I want you to read the room enough to know what you need to say afterward is just, yeah, honestly, I regret it, but I wanted to go home. Whoops. That's what I want, because people are going to be less annoyed with that than someone trying to convince you that they actually got metabacked. When someone gets voted out from Big Brother or Survivor, don't come out, recognize, watch the show, and hear everyone talking and recognize that you actually were not running the game and were not in the know. Don't try to keep convincing us that you were running the game and you only made one mistake.
Just be like, yeah, wow, I was blindsided. I was out of it. Just admit that. If you just do it and you do it jokingly, like I said, people are going to be like, oh, good on them for owning it. I'm married. That is an incredibly measured, grounded, and rational response. Those people do not go on reality TV. The thing is, I want you to be a reality TV character when you're on reality TV. I don't need you to do that when you're now back at home. Break the fourth wall. Tell me that you were playing a character. I don't mind it. I'm so here for the delusion. It's, to me, it's almost like, it's just it's fascinating watching him on the show and then obviously all of the discourse after. But like even on the show, like I wrote down the exact quote, it was, yeah, it's a, I don't can't remember exactly what he said, but basically like somehow it's dishonorable if you just quit, unless you're going out for a medical reason. Yeah, and I believe he said, if I didn't want to quit because that would be ruining the game now, if I were to leave for medical reasons,
that would be something different. Exactly. Oh, by the way, my foot hurts. And as soon as he said that, I was like, oh, he's going to pull himself from the game like for medical reasons. So it's just like, it's just fascinating to watch someone like justify their behavior within the framework of like, well, obviously, survivor and the survivor fans and Jeff and all of that, but also just like this universe that they've crafted in their own head of how they have to behave because, frankly, from an embarrassment perspective, I think it would have been less embarrassing if he had just quit. Like, it's more embarrassing to go do all of this stuff. So it just, it absolutely fascinates me. So I understand, marry that perspective from a TV viewing perspective, though, this is not so behavior. And I like it. Yeah, I think it just like, it's the, I would be so embarrassed to be sitting there with the host of the show and a medical professional telling me that everything
is most likely fine. And me try to be the kid who's faking sick going to school, trying to insist, I literally thought we were about two seconds away from him pivoting and being like, okay, well, actually, my stomach also hurts. Like, thinking what's the thing they will not be able to see and then just like, I think that that's that's where I'm at. Honestly, I was shocked but there was a cut on the foot because I really thought you would just be like, it's I don't know. I'm not going to lie. I don't even know if he knew the cut was on the foot. I think it was Oh, yeah, yeah, this is the cut. Yep, it must have been that. I love him. I loved him prompting Dr. Barry of, well, what about infection? Like, I surely there must be something going on there. The doctor's like, I mean, yeah, I don't, I don't want to get sued. So I suppose there's always a chance for there's a chance for infection if you like stubbed your toe on a palm tree. He's like, all right, that's it. I'm out. I heard you loud and clear, Doc. Can't risk it. And this is the perspective I'm coming from is that like ultra marathons have an award usually at the end
for the that's called best blood for the person who he's everybody's falling and scraping themselves up and hurting themselves. And like, I was four miles into a half marathon back in March and I just tripped over nothing and ate it. And I rolled over and stood up and everyone behind me is like, oh, because my arm just had dripping down it. And I was like, all right, I can either stop now. But I'm like on pace to do pretty good. I'm going to weigh best blood, baby. And it's like, that's my perspective of like, yeah, is I mean, look, I'm not that I could then go home and clean it. It's not like I had to worry about infection. But I think there's just this element of I want some people to like, you know, is it Kristen, Kristen? Kristen? Yeah. I will a lot of people to be to want to be out there enough to remain out there. Even if it gets a little, a little tricky. Don't sacrifice your body for the game. Well, anyway, anyway, anyway, if you didn't follow up on this, did you end up winning best blood
after that tumble? Well, that, that race didn't have a blessed best blood award. But I did get a PR. So that's pretty how. Okay. And all the adrenaline pictures look pretty gnarly from that. That's actually pretty badass. I did. I did. I did think I looked pretty cool. Well, I mean, and that's okay. So that's like the one thing about Rob that I do understand, especially for people who are really big fans of the show, who have specifically who have been applying like to have somebody, you know, take that slot from somebody who really would want to be there. Like I can understand why that would frustrate people. I think again, for me, like I'm here for a wacky reality TV experience. Like my first reality TV shows were not big brother and survivor. They were like flavor of love and those kinds of shows. So like that's kind of more, that's why I'm a little bit okay with it. But, you know, Mary again, like, you're, you are, you are a normal human. Rob is not. Let me, let me, and let me give a completely
counter story to what I just told you that I just remembered. I also, they're all running related. Sorry. I ran cross country in high school and every single cross country race I ever ran at about a mile in my brain just went, how can I fake an injury to get out of this? How can I fake an injury to get out of this? And I, I never did, but I contemplated it every time. Every time I was thinking, how can I fall to realistically look like I sprained my ankle without actually doing damage? Because I never actually hurt myself, of course. So I understand the concept of like, this is going to be hard. I don't know that I actually want to do this, trying to quit, unfortunately successfully quitting and then having to kind of live with that forever. I've like, I'll shoot not only do I maybe regret this. You know, and I, and look, I'm not the kind of person who says that everyone needs to be a super fan who will do anything to stay there. I think we need to mix a people. I want a wide range, which I think also I like that this season we're moving away a little bit from casting 50% the same archetype that we've seen last 10 seasons.
So I like that, but, you know, I just, one time, one time I want to see an exit interview with someone, where they just admit it. That's all I want. But it makes it so much fun when they do. And here's, here's the thing is that I understand the arguments. I personally am not anti quit as a concept. A, there's myriad reasons why you do it. You know, if someone like Jenna Morasca in All Stars is a great example of that, you know, I don't necessarily ascribe too much to the, you know, this could have gone to someone much more deserving in terms of a casting slot thing because I think we all have experiences where we say we want to do something and then we, we tough it out for a few days, ever like, this is it me and I as much as, you know, we do pride grit out there. If you don't want to be out there, don't be out there. I am anti denying the fact that you quit. I think that is the, the biggest thing that is really rubbing people the wrong way much like those brains of sand in poor Rob's foot is that he pulled on and off Island has vehemently denied that he quit. That he's claiming
it's more of what like it's, it's weird because it's not even a self-medevac because again, a medical professional told him to his face. There is no reason why you should leave the game right now. And on paper, it comes across like, that's great for you to say, I'm going to take my own advice here and pull myself because I'm just a little too worried. He did his own research. I'm trying to remember did did did was her is counting as a quit or a medevac. It's kind of as a queen. And that was, yeah, that was for those that don't remember. It was, you know, we saw a little bit of scrapping in this challenge, but there was a challenge in David versus Goliath where I don't actually think it was when they were scrapping. I think it was like her going over a hitching post or something. She heard her knee. She's an MMA fighter. She did not want to risk her career. And so she decided to pull herself from the game. Yeah. So like that one, I feel like, I feel like that makes sense. And I understand like exactly what you're saying about Jenna Maraska. I think it's interesting that that Jenna Maraska, the one example I can think of where someone left the game
and I don't think they counted as a quit or a medevac is Terry Deats. Is that? Yeah. I would say that they they they I don't even pick on the wiki. They they call it like family emergency or something. Yeah. And I mean, I guess it's like, okay, that's not exactly the same thing that happened with Jenna, but it's similar. I think it's incredible. I mean, obviously two very different medical cases that even Rob can say that. But like, yeah, I think two very similar situations in terms of, hey, there's something going on outside of the game. Jenna wasn't alerted to it. It was most of something that she inherently felt, but it wound up being quite for two. It's like if Jenna had gotten a call, I think I would hope that she would be in the same category of Terry that they would not count that as a quit. I don't know. I put like Jenna quit asterisks on the side for hers. Yeah. It's so interesting though that you were talking about like, oh, he had such a sterling edit for the first two episodes. Because I'm going to push back against that. Well, okay, I'm sure you watch these. This is like based on watching two episodes and that what I mean by certainly is like they could have just hidden him and buried him and not shown him at all. No, I think they want to make an example out of it. I think ever since the whole now,
what's surprising is that Jeff was stunningly steeled through all this. Then maybe it's because he didn't want to like tell Rob to his face like, yeah, you're making up the fact that you're going through pain. Even the people that were trashing Rob in their confessions were like, I'm not denying the fact that he probably isn't feeling comfortable right now. I'm just debating the timing in which he decided to disclose this information. But I feel like after especially the Hannah and Sean double quit in 45, Jeff was very upfront about like, the people who quit, they're not getting their torches snuffed anymore. I know if they were doing some stuff behind the scenes as well to try to distance I devise people from it. But I feel like they buried this guy certainly in episode three. And I think if you look back on episodes one and two, like especially two, this guy was the biggest buffoon on the beach. I think we sometimes complain like, I'm out, you're showing up on screen, quantity versus quality. And I think not to say that as he mentioned, like if he had decided to ask to be voted out that he would have been given more of a purple edit,
I think he certainly had a major impact on the first few episodes. But I think after they saw what happened, I think they were more than happy to build this guy up as this big bravado-filled, braggadocious man to then promptly crush him by having him get taken out with everyone kind of laughing behind his back. I mean, yeah, the first few episodes were definitely OTT, but within N twist on it, like a negative twist on the edit. Like for example, when he finds the idol, you don't get that triumphant music of like, yeah, he find the idol. It's like still kind of goofy music. And then I would say in episode three specifically, I mean, first of all, Sassy Jeff was absolutely bad. And he was pissing me off. Jeff was pissing me off in episode one, Jeff has redeemed himself now with his reaction to Rob where he like comes out with medical. He's like, I'm not missing this. Like I'm coming, I'm coming out here. And his, his line to Rob that was like,
why didn't you call a sooner? Huh? Why didn't you call a sooner? Hmm? He's like full Sassy Jeff. And then even in the, oh my god, when they all come out for immunity, he is very clear. Rob chose to leave. Okay. He didn't say the Q word, but Rob was like, or Jeff was like, no, he chose, he chose this. Okay. I'm not letting this one slide. Also, I, I love Jeff being there. And just like essentially doing the like Jim helper look at the camera. We know what this is. Like that's like kind of what the whole vibe was. And I agree with you. Like I, the episode one would have been even higher than whatever my original rating was without the Jeff moment. So I needed the Jeff redemption. And it happened here. This was, this was fun. I'm trying to see already if like Wikipedia what they, what they technically count this as I think they put it as quit. Okay. Yeah,
it's okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's a quit. Which is again very, very weird as to why like if Rob is claiming he's not a quitter than like, what is this then? This is you taking your health into your own like heads like no, self medical evacuation. Like that's not a thing. Yeah. Did he call it a Mediva? He, I, he just has, he's just said in interviews that he didn't quit. I think he's saying like I left the game for medical reasons is what he's saying or like left the game. I don't know. So again, I agree. I be the other person I thought of was Matthew from 44 who has a shoulder injury. I did look. His is also technically a quit. Even though he tore like a, well, according to the Wikipedia article for him, apparently it was like a six month of physical therapy to recover after having surgery and stuff. So like that's real injury. I like that's an understandable reason. I think the thing is though that like people have had real injuries like Missy, you know, had a real injury didn't quit the game. So I guess the person that's going to point that she's
the hollering around smile across her face. I think the precedent is if your injury is not basically already infected or something that we are like, because Kyle I believe was medically evacuated, right? He was. And it was because they felt like we can't do anything that you will not damage this further by just being out here. Even if you sat out at every challenge or something, it's a weird thing. We're like, because if you saw the secret scene from last week where Dr. where the doctor who has had just a field day across a week of the season so far, if he gets paid like per visit, he is raking in at this point. He does pay a visit to Kristen and he tells her basically like, you know, you broke part of your foot, you snapped some tendons, but like you could still continue in the game. And yeah, it's a little different than Kyle, right? Which was you tore your Achilles. This is going to be really tough to heal out here. So we have to pull you like again, medical jargon and diagnosis and prognosis are very fine lines.
And so it does feel like despite it being located, you know, in relatively the same part of the body. I guess for Kristen, it wasn't like, we feel like your body cannot naturally heal out here. So we have to send you home. Yeah, it's an interesting line. And I know that like there were, there have a lot of been a lot of people who've sort of quit the game for medical-ish reasons. Sort of kind of like this sort of self-diagnosed ones. I think the main difference is the edit of this one of usually the edit is like the game's not going this person's way. And then they have a medical issue, not a serious enough one. So leave. And they're like, you know, no, I'm just, I'm going to leave anyway. The way this one was presented was more like, I want to quit. Okay, let me make up a medical issue. Whether or not there was any injury, I believe that every person probably on survivor, almost everyone could come up with something that you know, that ails them out there. Yeah, that's so my theory at this point. And this is completely unfounded. Because I
think there actually has been some misinformation that Rob has cleared up that, you know, people are like, oh, he made up this injury. His story is that, you know, it's that, oh, why did he try to vote himself out at that tribal council? It's because of according to him that he was already feeling that much pain. And so he was like, let me create this way to go for myself. You know, incredibly new, though, I will give him credit for innovation. My personal theory is that sure this injury could have happened. I feel like it's the cherry on top of the cake. You know, he mentions at the top of the episode, he'd only slept four hours across four days. I think he was exhausted. I think he was over this experience. And I think much like you, Mary and cross country, he was kind of just looking for, okay, let me find a unique way to leave this game. And so he wanted to create as big of a splash as possible. He did confirm in the beginning of this episode we alluded to last week,
which was I thought it was unanimous vote against Naring. So I'm going to essentially idle myself out of the game. That would be my big move. When that didn't happen, then I personally think he embellished, he exacerbated. And he was like, all right, you know, because again, I think that he gave the idle to Carter, like apparently on the boat ride out of tribal council, like I think he was already checked out already ready to go. And when his big flashy maneuver didn't work, he took a little bit of the the the womp womp way out. Yeah, I mean, okay, sure, he could have been having pain before that. I don't think Rob is a reliable narrator. So I don't know if I necessarily trust any of that. But yeah, I think, I think like most, I think it was Lenea, especially who was saying a lot about this, that just the time, I know, it's very, so it's a quit, he quit the game, he didn't want to be there any quit. Like that's, to me, that's the headline.

right below the raw of quit because we have like sort of a mishmash of a bunch of previous twist combined into one right. The open era is everything's on the table. And so they essentially took a little bit of a chimera combination of, you know, a tribe camp visit and I advantage hidden at the other camp. And of course, the 20 year return of the mutiny. And what I will say is I'm still trying to to chew over and not to be resolt oriented as like how I feel about this. Where I think it's so interesting about this, Mary is I think we got a display of the exact best case scenario and the exact worst case scenario where worst case scenario was Devon goes over. He never had any plans of swapping over let alone him seeing that derelict shelter and deciding that he was more than happy to go back to hotel toka. He easily finds the advantage goes back hunky dory is open about everything. And then we get on the other hand, the entire hot mess that was Carter's now permanent visit to his new tribe.
I think this is it is a mutiny, but it's like a combination of the mutiny we saw before and the like tribe visit or tribe steel kind of thing that they did in China that kind of thing. What I like about this is I think you're more likely to mutiny if you're already over there on the beach and have met the people and you're by yourself. I think the we're standing on a mat step forward if you want to mutiny is going to be way more difficult to do, especially if you haven't already talked to those people and you don't really know whether or not it would be better to leave. And you're doing it right in front of all your people and you're basically saying sorry, I don't really like y'all. With Carter, first off, he kind of has plausible tonight ability whether I actually met to mutiny or not, but also like he was in this perfect spot that to leave his tribe, but I'm not 100% sure if they just did it at the challenge and said, hey Carter or whoever you guys want to leave, I don't know that he would have done it there. Being there already, it's like, you know, it's like doing something you don't want to do and then you're like, you get in a car and you drive to the place and you're like, I'm already here. Might as well. Yeah, it's like one of the gems. My shoes on. I guess I'd better go out.
I guess I'll just do it. So I think this was really the the perfect scenario. And I think I like that we had both things happen because you want the best part of twists in social strategy games is you want the audience to watch it and go, oh, what would I do in this scenario? Do I think this was the best move for this person? What if somebody else went? And so I love that. And that's why I love seeing multiple outcomes because if both people had chosen not to go or both people had, you don't want to set something up where it's like, well, it's obviously always the right outcome to do this, which is why the like our glass twist didn't make any sense because it basically always makes sense for that person to break the hourglass. If your choices save yourself or don't save yourself, what are you going to do? But this one, it's like, they're pros and cons to what you're doing here. And so yeah, I like how they set this up. This is my favorite version of the mutiny we've seen so far. I agree with that as well. I actually didn't think about that the fact that the fact that, you know,
if you if you are truly on the fence, you can actually go talk to people and as Carter talked about trying to find cracks, right? Like, is this a place where I can weasel my way in and, you know, find a new alliance, especially given the fact that he was on the outside of the last boat. And I agree with you also again, the choice they were given a choice. Like that's so wonderful to me. And the fact that we have to like talk about that as being a benefit of the choice is so funny because they should just all be like that. But like, for example, I think you could have somebody who's like, I'm a hundred percent going to mutiny. Yeah, I'm not even going to go for the advantage yet because I know I'm going to still be there so I can look for it at nighttime. And then there's like no rush while you're still doing your one-on-ones. You don't come across a suspicious where you're like trying to sneak off and find the oars or whatever. So, yeah, I really, really liked this. I thought the Devon one was very boring. So I do agree with you, Mike. It was like, we got the best and sort of
worst versions of that. I will say though, Devon talking a lot. If I was Shoronda, I would be like, this man is saying too much. I don't know if I necessarily want to work with him. So I'm hoping that there's some kind of payoff later on maybe for this mutiny situation where Devon went over there. But obviously the Carter one was 10 out of 10. Amazing. Well, I'm thinking that maybe it's something where like Shoronda decides to use her own weaponized honesty and tells someone about the fact that Devon has an extra vote, you know, as a good example, perhaps to say for self, but my God, if you want a representation of just the absolute delightful mess this season has been so far, you need to check out the entire 10 minute sequence of Carter over at the Toka tribe camp, where he leaves his bag out in the rain. And this is the funny thing about it as well is that like, this is going to be one of the Kingmakers. He's going to be, he and Lewis, who actually goes to his back, are going to be the ones to determine who goes here. They make this big move to flip this
tribe on its head. But he leaves his bag not only out in the open, but with the exact letter saying, Hey, here are your two secret missions right on top of it. Right on top. Basically, saying they're like, it's a note that a parent would give to a teacher to send their student with. Go ahead, Leona. Well, I was just going to say, I don't think that this was intentional. However, I think there is a universe. If you were, you know how it's like, if you, if you're going to lie about something like, have a different lie. Okay, I'm not basically like the idea is he's got an idol. So if you want to try to, because they're, they stopped. They didn't find the idol because they found in a possible extra vote. So it's almost like it throws them off the scent because then, then, well, first of all, Carter couldn't get it. So maybe it was like a self-sacrifice or some, I mean, again, I don't think it was intentional from him. But I'm saying like, there could be a play there where you let them see that to disguise and hide the fact that you actually have a real
idol because they're not going to continue going through your back or they didn't in this particular case. And I feel like they tried to set up this like slight edit of like, oh, Carter, like, he looks bad by not telling, I think it was Lewis who he went on the walk was it Lewis who was really or no, so we have to talk about this for a second because him and Brady have this one on one. And Brady, I think this is all confirmation bias because this is a Brody that I put on path with. This is the Brody I get a drink with. This is the Brody that we sing John Mellon camp with together at three in the morning when we're having the bag. And so Brady, who again, we'll talk about not only already knows that Lewis has, you know, was offered an advantage, but what's part of the duo, assuming Lee that already found the advantage was like, hey, you get told to do anything over here. And Carter's like, first he says no, then he says, oh, but there's a second part. It just says, you know, basic poetry about like, yeah, I got to get to know people. I don't know what's going to happen from here. And Brady's exact logic is,
wow, he just lied to me. That shows I can trust him. It was it was okay. I did kind of get where he was coming from that it was like, he's capable of keeping a secret. Right. And he's not just going to spill to anybody, right? That was the long. Devon, my immediate. But I, I mean, I, I thought he was getting it chastised. I thought that Brady was going to be like, he didn't tell me the truth. We, you know, I'll screw this guy. That is not what happened. Yeah, I think, I don't blame Carter at all for not telling them. I think if Carter had about there and told them, that would have been what that. So if anybody on this tribe somehow tries to use Carter not telling this group of strangers about a potential advantage he could get, that's yes. Now here's where it gets interesting is Louis ever going to tell Carter or anyone on this tribe that number one, they looked through his bag and found that note. And number two, that they then
went off and got the thing. Like first off, does the whole, I, we didn't see it, but I assume everybody knows that Maggie has it. See, I don't know that because she was with Brady, they did agree to work together, but I assume Brady told at least his five. Yeah. I'm, this is what really confusing me and as much as I absolutely adore this sequence, there is so much left up to the imagination. Hell, we've been making so many jokes about like, oh Carter literally missed the boat. We don't actually know if he wanted to mutiny or not, if like he actually waived the boat away, or if he really was going to go back to his tribe and there just was this window of opportunity, that he missed. I feel like there's so many questions there between again, you know, Carter's true intentions, whether or not Carter ever found out that they know about the orers, whether he found the orers, whether Brady and or Maggie told anybody else about the extra boat. There's a lot of information that we're not privy to right now. My gut just from watching it and
I would love to find out eventually from Carter. My gut is that he was leaning towards staying, but it had not 100% made up his mind is frantically trying to look for the, the orers and the thing and he does not go, okay, you know what, forget this and run to the boat. So I think I would lean on he was at least 60% probably going to stay and then his decision was kind of made for him, which kind of helps if you're waffling on a decision. And he made he was thinking even like, I'll give it a few more minutes looking for this and if the boat, if I find it before the boat leaves, maybe I'll go back the boat and I'll make that decision if not the decision made like my gut is that he was probably going to stay. I do not think this was a situation of him wanting to leave and missing the boat. I think he was either definitely going to stay or still deciding. Otherwise, I feel like they would have made a much bigger deal out of it, right? Like I know Carter said that he's the worst player in survivor history, but they would have given him dodo upon dodo music of oh my god. Oh no.
Sink down onto the ground crying. I think it's the boat. Unless we get a follow-up confessional in this next episode about it, I assume that whatever the answer was is boring. So I think it's probably Mary's thing, which is like, I was on the fence and it's fine and it's confessional something along the lines of like, well, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and then the boat left when I was fine with that or whatever in his accent that I can't replicate. So I don't even know what that accent is, but it's fine. And for good TV, even if I had made it alone, I was 100% going to stay. I would also say in confessional because I think it would be funny for a funny story to be like, oh no, I missed the boat. Oh gosh, I'm the worst. I think what we could potentially see is in a swap or merge situation. If anyone from his previous tribe is like, oh, dude, by Jimmy Utiny, I could easily see him also then using this excuse like, you're not going to believe it. I was looking for something on the beach in the boat left and I was stuck like, I think it's good. It's possible to liability now that he has. Now I will say that this entire saga with the extra
vote is a true sign that not all advantages are created equal nor the methods to acquire them. Because what do you mean all Devon had to do was reach into the well Rome style and unravel a string where Toka, I don't know if they could go fishing anymore if they had fishing gear because they brought out destroyed any way to power their boat by chopping these ores. They didn't need to destroy the ores. It was the same as the thing. No, but it was inside the oil. Yes. Yes, it was it. Well, no, Mary, I had the exact same reaction. There's the rope. Yes, but if you unraveled that rope, is there like a hole there? Like I'm saying, I don't think that they just, I don't think the producers destroyed the ore where they made it where you have to destroy the ore. I think if you unravel the rope, my guess is that there was like a little slit or a hole and you could reach in and grab the thing and they just chopped it by the way. That may be true, but I had the same reaction to like I thought it was actively in because when he when Brady cuts it and it opens
which also my god, this man cut off 25% of his tum two days ago and is like, don't worry gang, look at the act. If I were on that tribe, I would have stopped him right there and said, you are not touching a goddamn hole in your life. Even me, if I cut my finger off, I would be like, I am not touching that. Like that's the equivalent of me, but burn my hand on a hot stove. I'm not touching that again. To me, actually, the funny part about this whole thing was Maggie's approach to just straight asking for the advantage and also saying to his face, you have more people than me. Maggie, what are we doing here? It's brilliant. I mean, she's she's pro-positive of the concept that the worst they can say is no. That's true. You know that's true. And it was such a weird conversation. Again, Brady, Brady truly operates in his own form of logic at this point that I think to your point, Leon, you can somewhat follow, but still is like very much parallel to you on a completely different path in the woods where he is able to
because he's got these, you know, been able to claim this axon blood, I suppose. Chops through the ore, perhaps unnecessarily. Gets the extra vote. Maggie says, like, you have more numbers than me. First off, Brady ignores her. And it's just reading the terms of conditions of it, hoping that maybe she'll just go away. And then eventually she says, like, you have more numbers than me and he goes, are you going to vote with me with this? And she says, yes. And then he doesn't even really acknowledge the deal. It seems like he just kind of hands it to her and walks away. It was like a hot potato situation. I feel like when she is unraveling the rope and he goes to chop it, I was pretty sure she said, like, and like, no, don't because then you'll take it. And I thought he said, like, no, it's fine. It'll be yours. We'll work together. And it'll be yours. And then he picks it up. Like, I thought he could kind of agree to give it to her first. And then she was like, well, now you've gone back on it and taken it. I thought they will work together is all hold on to it. But it'll be ours. That type of
or or it'll be yours. It'll be yours. So yeah, this is a weird situation. Maggie has an extra vote. As a reminder, Devon also has an extra vote, which, hey, could have maybe come in handy at the most recent tribal council. But we should also note here, as we get into our third big event that Maggie did not poop with Brady as she promised that she was part of this Ragtag group that was co-layed together. I would love to get your thoughts, Mary, on how this ended up happening. Because again, to say it was piecemeal would be an understatement where it seemed like everyone was kind of skewed out by Kilby. Like even the people that didn't vote Kilby out were not necessarily all gung-ho for keeping Kilby in the game. Yeah, it's interesting. And I wish we had more visibility into the dynamics of this tribe. Because in the previous episode, we're like, oh, wow, awesome. Good on them for creating this five-person alliance. But then in this episode, it's like, everyone's like, yeah, yeah, we know
there's a five-person alliance over there. So how obvious was this? How like, because if, I mean, every time they show those shots of like an entire alliance, like sitting together on a log, I'm like, how is everybody else not noticing this? Maybe they were. Maybe they were literally only hanging out with them. And if that case, it doesn't take long for the other people who are left over to be like, oh, we're not in that alliance. Shockingly rarely in Survivor, in especially a big group like this, though, does that other group go, oh, there's more of us than there are of them. Let's get together. My favorite part of this whole thing is Brady just straight up being like, like they can do anything. We have the alliance. The alliance of five in a group of 11? I love it. I love it so much. It was amazing. That it was my favorite conversation. I mean, I liked people in both alliances, but I like Pat. But I think we're un-fickle. I'll flip for whoever I think is on the underdogs. Yeah, but I love this. But unfortunately,
we didn't see every conversation we saw was strictly about the vote about who's going home. We did not see a conversation on the show of all of the people who end up voting together talking, or even a smaller group of them coming together and being like, let's form a group or let's all vote this way. Instead, it was kind of more like ones and twos going around. Be like, we could vote this way. Who do we have? And in all of those conversations, they listed off. It was more about like, who do we want to protect from the five personal alliance? Who do we not want to vote for? Everybody likes Brady. And not just likes Brady, wants Brady to be informed. Like this, couldn't have even really been a blind side because Brady knew what was happening. He just didn't believe it. Yeah, is it a blind side if you're given the information, but you choose not to accept that it's factual? Yeah, and I mean, the killby thing is sad because like, it killed me hasn't exactly found his people yet very excited to see what happens next week with the conversation with Eric. But like, killby is, you know, he's on the outs. He was thinking,
I've got a good relationship with Pat. So we'll all do it. And I agree with him. Like spreading gossip about other people is a great way to form alliances or form bonds. A lot of the time, unless the person you're talking to immediately goes and tells them there's a reason why usually the worst shit talking on Big Brother happens about the people who have already left. Like, I think this is when you absolutely voiced everything onto the ghosts of survivor would be my best advice for the game. Like, if you leave someone out of the vote, oh, it was so and so, it's fault. That can't speak for it now. Oh my god. Remember how annoying so and so was, don't give them the ability to talk back as we see what happens with Pat and Brady here. Yeah. And I mean, I was going to say or just follow their initiative. But I also believe that Pat whether we saw it or not could have been the type of player to like, set up a hook, like go fishing for killby to do something like that in order for her to then go say, you know,
and so at some point it kind of becomes this like race to who can rat the other person out. Faster. It's entrapment. Right. Like you kind of like, especially if you know killby's kind of going that way. And that's, you know, when killby and devon are having their radical honesty or whatever the thing is, where they're kind of being like, I just feel like you don't like me, man. And it's like so and so is telling me you're annoying. Like, I could see Pat absolutely baiting killby and just saying something like that. You know what I mean? So what did I call it? Like, fishing, giving a fish and looking thrown at a hook. But the same same thing, same concept. For me, the the the the point that just stands in my head is the fact that everybody clocked that five person alliance so quickly. I know we already talked about this. But like Lewis early in the episode is like the five together and I was like, dang, Lewis is so smart. Like that's amazing. And then by the end of the episode, everybody and their mother is talking about it. So I think, okay, I guess that wasn't really all that secretive. But um, but I think that apart from that group, yeah, the others just haven't. Yes, they were able to vote together. But it does feel like there
aren't super solid alliances. And I think that that's also I mean, it's true really for both tribes from my perspective outside of really the helicopter alliance. And then if this group before manages to stay together, you know, those are really the only like super solid groupings. And I would say even on top of that, like I don't even know what the twos are that are together. I think, um, killby and tan maybe, uh, could be considered a pair just because we see them talking a lot. Yeah. Uh, Sharanda and Ori a pair, although in the larger, I mean, we never voted together. Yeah, exactly. But outside of that, I'm like, I have no idea who's working with home. No, at this point, the the alliance that seems the firmest is somehow Lewis and Carter who've known each other for three hours. Like, who also again, Lewis went through Carter's back. I know. Like 12 hours beforehand and got the letter. I have to believe that Carter is going to find out that at some point that everyone else on that tribe, either, either that they went through his bag or just find out that they found the extra boat, like that they found the advantage.
I have to believe that's going to come out at some point. Um, and I have to believe that once we get into a swap situation, if anybody was unaware that the two people who got to go on the journey, like had clues, this is also going to all come out pretty quickly. Um, and also just in case anyone is like, Oh, well, when they formed the five personal alliance, it was a majority in their in their group. That's fine. But you did not then pull in someone else to firm up the majority in a way that made that person feel like they were also in in the five. Because I'm sure they did. I'm sure they did think that they had Lewis or I'm sure they thought that they basically had everybody besides kill me. Well, they thought that they just didn't do a good enough job convincing them. I think we forget that Lewis is a chaos Gremlin. Yeah. Like this is what he came into the game talking about, right? And I think just due to the fact that he started 50 paces behind everybody else due to the exile of it all that we thought, Oh, well, he's actually playing like a subtle game. But no, we realized the infinitesimalist morsel of power he's going to get. He's going to blow stuff up.
Like the fact that he's like apparently Pat told me that hours before blind sighting her out of nowhere, he told her that she was his number one. When they had no established relationship up to that point, this guy is just saying shit and doing shit to say shit and do shit. He is very much I think a type of person to make the move now and think through the actual fundamentals of the day after. And so I thought as soon as him and Carter started having the conversation that they were going to that like he was he was going to be given what's the more fun option, what's the more lousy option. What I love about it too is just like, you know, I'm sure Carter did have some stuff to offer with this. But again, like he was talking about he kind of walked into this perfect situation where he's on this 11 person tribe. And Lewis is like, yeah, there's this majority of the lines. But like I reckon we can flip things right and Carter's like, okay, dokey. Yeah, whatever. Sure. I have an idol. So I don't want to use it or anything. And so the fact that these two
guys end up forming the audit of odd couple of lines is like, I know Lewis basically tells Carter, I feel like we should work together. I think Carter is going for any port and a storm right now. Any pair of pants on the rack when it comes to Pat. And it's said, I do not think this man is going to work with Lewis the hour after this tribal council occurs. I think even what we saw from Carter when they were on the hammock, he very much continued to reiterate the yes, but do we want the final like those five after us or those four after us? Like he did continue to bring up the counterpoint to Lewis very obviously wanting to flip against the five. So I do think that that is is is is 100% going to happen. Like I don't think that this is anything locked in. This is not Lewis and Clark. Right. This is Lewis and Carter. And I don't think that they're in it for the long haul. But the thing that I do think is the best for Carter is regardless of whether or not he stays with Lewis, regardless of whether or not he continues to work with anyone he voted with. It's not like him
and Lewis created something new out of a situation. Yeah. The other people also wanted to do something. They had people who were right for the pickings to like pick up to do this vote. We don't even know 100% like who started this. But from my perspective, it seemed more like kill me and some other people maybe Maggie, I don't know or Janet, like for all we know, they pushed back against this first. And then we're like, I think we can get Carter and Lewis. Maybe. I don't know. Hard to tell. It's it's also like it benefits him most to be in a situation now even if they didn't know a swap was coming to have to be on a tribe that's now has cracks in it and has breaks in it. It almost is never going to benefit you to join an alliance where you know that you are the last person to join the alliance. Like they Carter could have joined that alliance and then bro down and they could do a male female split or something later. I'm like, I'm not saying that he's
100% six out of six. I'm just saying it's like if there's already an established status quo, you want to break that up in the game just so that there's more options moving forward of what could happen. He could now work with all four of those people and he's in a better spot than he would have been had he started with working with them. Here's a hot take. Could Carter's decision to make the flip here be in direct response to everything that went down earlier in the episode? You know, if there's this idea that we may not be in these tribes for that much longer and I don't necessarily have to face direct recourse for my actions. Like think about Carter's day. The fact that he was in this alliance with Anna and Rob. He one could vote it out. One quits the game like six hours later and he has nobody except for an idol. If he's like, listen, if I get it into onto someone's shit list, I was already bottom of the barrel on one tribe. In true mutiny, Jonathan, Pender style might as well be
the bottom of the barrel on the other tribe. And then maybe we'll roll the dice once again tomorrow and I'll wind up somehow in the numbers. If I don't, I'd lend my vest. I can play it anytime. Yeah, I think I think that's a good point because in in replaying Carter's whole thing, not even just those past like 24 hours, but like from the moment he nails that social interaction with Eric asking him about spaghetti. Like it's been chaos sense. You know what I mean? Yeah, I'm about spaghetti. The whole tribe was so every one on one he had was like Mike, you big spaghetti guy. Big spaghetti guy. Hmm, that's how he picked his alliance. He was like five not big spaghetti people. Um, so just like imagining his whole his whole thing that a whole journey. And this what took place over the course of how many days because it's three for the first cycle and then two and two. So what seven days, six seven were one day's rough in the air. Excelling to have that to not be sleeping to be given an
idol by a guy who ultimately ends up quitting the game. Like just everything. You're probably just like man, you know, fine. I don't know like if it sure Lewis, let's do it. That's true. It's on it's what producers want to happen with this idea of permanent uncertainty. Right. The other end is I think what a lot of players do end up doing, which is like anything could happen. So like let's stick with the plan. At least I have a safety within numbers. These players in particular again, Lewis and Corrigi was certain extent are saying, you know, anything could happen tomorrow. So do whatever the hell we want to today. Uh, it is the yolo era of survivor low key. Well, and also to Mary's point, it wasn't like they were choosing between alliances, right? It was it wasn't it was do we disrupt a power structure? Or because the alternative was not do we disrupt a power structure and build our own power structure? It was more just like we're going to disrupt this. And we'll go from there kind of thing,
which I do agree with me. I think whether Carter wanted to shoot, he should have made that move. Like I absolutely think that this was the right move for both low, I mean, for that entire group of six. So it especially because like we don't know. We weren't seeing that group of five really try to court Carter. If they were, then he has a more dicey decision of, okay, these people really want me and they're trying to work with me and I'm having to go against them. What we saw was more like he's just chilling on a hammock. They're off there and they're alliance and he they're he can and he's probably informed who the vote is, you know, it's like, okay, do I vote out the status quo kill be the easy vote? Or do we mix things up? And also like you said, Mike, if I've been already basically it's like I'm already on my second or third life here. So let's just go ahead and like wing it, right? Yeah. What I think is also so funny about this is I would not be completely surprised if Kilby was a little blindsided by the vote as well. Because Leoni, you and I were talking about
this before we started recording, but we forget about this in all the the michiganst before the vote. When T'Nan is is planning things, Kilby's like, don't worry. We've got Brady on our side. I know that Devon is Brady's number one, but I'm pretty sure I'm his number two. And I think much like player two and Kilby's example, he's not entirely plugged in on what Brady's been doing. The wildness to say, I think Devon thinks Brady's his number one, but I'm actually Brady's number one. Like to say that to someone else, like if anyone ever comes and tells you, I don't think you I don't think you think what's happening is happening. Like don't you you have to at the very least take that in and consider it. Well, and yeah, Maggie also didn't mince words there. She was like, no, those five are together. They are definitely together. I also I agree that we, especially as we talk this out, are not getting a lot of insights into these Toka tribe dynamics and how they
break down. Maybe it's because they're going to be a race next episode. But I do like the inference that there's this guy named Mike, who's just kind of there. You know, Maggie initially targets, we're finding it like he is sort of like our game body type of straight man narrator, I think, to all the chaos to these three episodes. But considering that what Maggie wants to initially target him because he just feels like she feels like he's just the plus one in the alliance. But then to none specifically does not want to target him because he's just a sponge who doesn't provide any information is fascinating to me. Mike just getting ragged on by everybody and kill me also. I think kill be said something of like in that five, he's just kind of there. My God. I do from the edit feel bad for everyone in the five who is not to have an Brady because it really feels like they were the their talk was the reason why that alliance
was even really targeted. But at the same time, everybody's like, well, we can vote on any of them out, but not Devon or Brady. So they're clearly doing something good. I also wonder if they like maybe maybe Brady has convinced kill be like, no, you're with us. You're with our alliance. We're in the alliance. And that's why. And this is the other thing. If you're a insurviver and you want to vote out a particular person because they're scheming or you find them annoying or whatever, pull them into your alliance first, lock them down in your alliance so that they don't try to turn against you. The only way to blindside someone is from within. If they're out on the outside and everyone knows you don't like them and and is telling them that you're trying to vote them out, then they could they could start a coup. They can't start a coup. They think they're with you. Yeah, this tribe is just full of wild cards. I'm thinking back to the conversation that Maggie and kill be had trying to figure out the target Mike. It's only because Maggie and kill
be like, okay, we've got to go after that five. And Maggie's like, okay, but I don't want to go after jelly or Kevin or Pat or Brady. It's like that thing. I'm like, what do you want for dinner? Whatever. I'm fine. I just don't want to tally in her Chinese or Greek or Indian like, that you're not making this easier for yourself. This is a tribe little on a castle of absolute wackadoodles. And I'm loving every second of it. It does make me a little worried that we are seemingly switching to three tribes. I did see a third tribe insignia and flag. You know, we've seen proof positive in this in the new era seasons. How that can make things a little less variable, but hopefully just even shaking things up and having some of these people mingle who haven't before will be enough to continue that chaotic train. Yeah, I'm not obviously the site of three tribes is a little bit like trauma, but I'm open. Let's see. I think also because it's not the there are all of these pre-existing bonds already. I mean, theoretically, there's pre-existing bonds.
So I think it is going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. You know, ultimately, we may be looking back and say, yep, you know, three tribes, what a misstep. But let's just see. These first three episodes have really cooked and I think that the cast is 100% for, you know, supporting that. Obviously, the twist facilitated, but I'm hopeful that this cast will carry us through those three tribes. Low energy, unfocused, foggy, you might be dehydrated. We spent an hour doing so, but it's time we formalize it B and B style with our time capsule predictions. Do we got to start with the man who departed at the top of the hour and a half in Rob, who obviously was a major presence in the preseason, but Leana, how big of a presence did he make in your version of the season proper? I had Rob as prejury and I said, Rob comes into the game ready to play and waste absolutely no time
trying to lock in alliances and get targets all lined up just in case his tribe goes to tribal. He did all this within the first few hours of the marooning. At first, people are happy to not along let Rob think he's putting something together, but it quickly becomes obvious he's talking to everybody and trying to be involved in every single conversation. Rob mistakes people humoring him for actual influence and gets way too comfortable completely missing the fact that his tribe has quietly agreed he is simply doing too much as he becomes the consensus vote. His tribe loses the first immunity challenge and Rob becomes the season's first casualty going down as a glorious overplaying highly visible flame out. The interesting it's like a Jalinsky's dad. Yeah, exactly. All right. So I also had Rob going prejury. Listen, this guy was a wild car from the jump and sometimes these things happen, but this didn't necessarily feel like the season for it. So I wrote
a self-proclaimed reality TV junkie Rob immediately decides to give everyone at home a their fix of that good stuff. He pieces together the first alliance of the season and uses fainting homesickness to disguise idle hunting. The good news Rob is successful in finding out where the idle is. The bad news in a throwback to China it's hidden in the tribe flag. The result is one of the sloppiest maneuvers in survivor history as Rob claims to be treating an injury down by the beach tears down the flag to get the idle then claims he was so clumsy he knocked it over regardless of absolutely nobody buying Rob's cover story. He still gets into power early on one of the most vocal members of his tribe. He's the one to lead the charge against people like Anna and Linnea. With the latter, he claims that she has pervity vibes and puts her on his no fly list. After getting swapped into the majority, Rob's alliance decides to cement their numbers and take out Maggie, but quickly bonding with the fellow parents in the group he decides to go rogue telling
her he'll play his idle on her. Rob has no idea however that at this point he's carrying way over the FAA limit of sketchiness. Terrible turn of phrase. See his clear desire to not get rid of Maggie his tribates decide his gameplay is undergoing too much turbulence and so while Rob does go through with his big move, he's shocked to find his game gets grounded. As are the fans, as Rob has by far the most confessionals out of everyone on his tribe at this point. His closest ally was Ori and his enemy was Linnea. All right, I'm going to need a account as he had the most confessionals out of everybody at this point. Probably not. I mean, it'll be tough with the episode three because I think we got so much Carter in there, but I haven't imagined through the first couple of episodes he has to be up there, right? Probably close. Certainly on his tribe. Yeah. The gear immediately on him. Yeah, oh, sorry. Well, she's trying to get a reader
lips. Yes, actually, that's that's the game this week because you have to read my lips. Okay, so he received 10 total confessionals. Lewis has 18. No, Devon has 23. Lewis has 18. Brady has 16. Killby has 15. Carter has 12. Jelly has 11. Eric has 11. And Kristen has 10. The same number as Rob. Okay, maybe they just felt like more Rob. It did feel like a lot of. I think I think Leana hit more with like what happened in episode one, but Mike's I do recall hearing nobody believes his story injury and finding an idol. We're all in my. So I think I've got to have to go with. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Well, let us look to our second boot here. Who again, I feel kind of bad that obviously there's been a lot of discussion about what happens with Rob at the top of the episode that it does kind of obfuscate the
fact that we do lose Pat who I really enjoyed it. Honestly, based on what happened in the first episode, I thought was primed to make a deep run in the game. The more I think about it, the more I am low key shock that she's a boot in episode three. Maybe that's because in my predictions, I had her making the finale. So I wrote one of Pat's pet peeves is quote, when the least informed person is telling everyone else what to do. And so due to her limited amount of survivor intel, she decides to keep quiet early in the game, deferring to the superfan opinions of killby and Mike. Due to this, Pat is far and away the most under edited player of season 51, fans up her purple Pat from episode three on. And as the season goes along, we get a series of social media posts from her that increasingly complain about her edit. Don't worry about her NDA. She's a lawyer. She knows a thing or two about how to make things public without records. After Pat has a relatively easy pre-emerge, she gets a very random bump in airtime during the second half of the season. She gets brought to the sanctuary and good things happen to her
edit as we see her open up about her military family. Coming back to the beach nutritionally and emotionally reinvigorated, Pat leads the charge for the first time all season, playing together a vote against tenon. Pat killby and Mike operate as a three headed blonde monster in the individual game. Parentheses, side note, I'm not sure if killby is actually blonde, I'm nervous now after what happened with Emily in 50. But Pat is able to connect ironically with the other season's secret lawyers in Alexis and Kristin. As 51 enters the end game, we suddenly get a lot of content about how threatening Pat is considering her legability and lack of direct blood on her hands. Fortunately, she evades the radar for a couple rounds, winning clutch challenges at the final six and five. When she stumbles at the final four, however, she gets thrown into fire against her number one mic. And this is where her lack of survivor knowledge literally burns her, stopping her trial before reaching the closing argument. Her closest ally was Mike
and her enemy was tenon. I like that you have Mike making the final three in your predictions. Mike, he's just there. I mean, I'll say it right here. He's just there. Mike is my winner pick. So oh my god, I can't wait. I love it. I'm just saying three episodes in. If we had not had the conversation about whether or not they should vote out Mike, if you had asked me to name all the people, I would never have named Mike. I would have forgotten Mike. I didn't see Mike. You're saying Mike, you this Mike, Mike Bloom, Mike Bloom is saying like, oh, he's like the game bot steady narrator. No, I would believe you if you told me he had zero confessionals. I remember his game, but his game by controller is implodant. Mike's got to back another mic. Okay, that's the key. A very major reason why I picked. Yeah. Fair enough. Okay. Well, you have a partner, Mike, in prediction land, because I too had at making a finale. Okay, Pat plays a very even kill game,
becoming everyone's ally as she stays calm and uses her charisma to stay in everyone's good graces, which is especially needed in the chaos of the pre merge. Come merge. This low key style allows her to form a power alliance with Kristen and Linnea, AKA the smart women, capital SMA RT, navigating the post merge by setting their specific measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely goals. At the final six, S stands for Shoranda as Pat leads the charge to take out the social capital queen. Unfortunately for Pat, when Shoranda is gone, she becomes the next obvious jury threat. And Kristen and Linnea turn on their fellow smart lady, realizing they cannot let the federal prosecutor argue her case at final tribal ally smart women, enemy Shoranda, comma smart women. So just to clarify, I had had making final four and you had her making like final five final five. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Your job is a very easy this time,
Mary. No, these were both terrible. Um, I mean, Mike did mention her secret alliance with Mike, which we did hear about, uh, what was Leon's most relevant part of any of this? The smart holes? I don't know. Um, my mic powder going further. So in bus, I also, I also heard an enemy being tenon. Yeah. I think, uh, based, based mostly on the mic of it all, I hate to do this. I don't have to give Mike a second win on this week. We all hate to do that. It's not a great week to be Mike. So I'm taking all the nine, like a smart guy absorbing it all. Wait, also, can we get a check here? Is Kilby blonde or am I color blonde? I mean, that depends on what definition of blonde you're going with. I got a lot of black because in 50, when Jonathan Young briefly forgot who Emily Flipen was, I described her as blonde in eternal neck and people were coming after me saying that
Emily Flipen is not blonde. I think Emily Flipen is more blonde than Danny. Danny, sorry, Kilby. I would say looking at this cast, I would call Brady blonde. I would call Lewis and Mike potentially dirty blonde. It's hard to tell in some of these pictures. Lewis might be blonde. Kilby's hair is brown. It's brown. It's just brown. But I don't think I would have gotten mad at you for saying that Emily Flipen. I'm saying this now, but now I'm like, I feel like Emily Flipen, her hair is lighter than mine. Why am I just googling Emily Flipen? If that's going to give me anything, Google knows. It's fine. Yeah, really, Google AI, I think, is a better source than I am on whether or not she's blonde. She's also, yeah, I think the thing is sometimes it's like the light hits you and like the very edges of your hair look a little light, but that's okay. But like the light in my room, my lamp has a pink filter on it. So sometimes people think I have red hair in certain light.
Your hair does look red. It does. It's not in person, but it's like maybe anyway. Okay, well, coming off that devastating loss, it's fine. No, it's okay. We have our activity for today in honor of Pants List Pat. We will be speaking about the pants that are on this season by doing about first and off. Yay. Which by the way, I went back to the premier to get a shot. It feels very lascivious by the way. But the only reason I pulled it is because it's got the Eric saying, she's pants less. Is that a dresser of those the pants that she lost? Yes, these are her pants, I believe. I'm pretty sure they all got, I'm pretty sure they got marooned in these outfits. And of course, we should realize and respect that of course Eric would be the one like Eric is Mr. Bits until you can meet no more. We didn't make a comment on this, but I love him continuing to do the
the friend vampire thing. And also when he got to the top of that wall, he's like, gee, I did it. Oh my god, that was so funny. And also, but it's fine. I've never asked people from survivor this, but I now I should ask the next survivor contest that I meet this funnily enough 10 minutes ago, one of my friends texted me and said, I just ran into Alice and Raebold and the main target. Oh, that's great. Oh, that's great about her pants. Yeah. But my question is, I want to know where people on survivor, specifically women, I don't care about the men, where are they buying their underwear? Because I feel like most underwear I have, like, would be basically see through, yeah, like they're thin material. Where are people wearing just essentially bathing suit bottoms? Are these like actual underwear? And where are you getting? That's what I said. Mike and I had a conversation literally about this prepod. I was like, these look, to me, they look like bathing suit bottoms. They're like thick. Yes. Yeah.
I was going to say like once once they stopped instantly giving them their bathing suits and stuff and people are walking around essentially like literally in their underwear. I'm like, there's no way, you know, because like also you could not put me on survivor without a sport bra. And so for anyone who's not wearing a sports, I mean, I'm sure like production doesn't want everyone wearing that. But I'm like, it's very unfair for the people who get a sports bra versus the people who don't. Now a day is, you know, I think they sort of allow a number of outfits to be used. I'm pretty short. And they don't I request women to bring sports bras. But I think they're, I cannot imagine that they are not allowed or you know, it's tricky for many ones wardrobe. And to that point, Pat never did find her pants. But she did tell me that like she had shorts in her bag already again, pre-approved by production. So she basically wore those out on the island. So it was like she was going like full winning the poo her entire week out in the game. Yeah. Well, this this actually does lead us to our first. This isn't an official buffer. So if I just wanted to point it out because this really amused me, I believe this was an episode two.
The entire Toka tribe comes out all wearing their buffs as tube tops. Carter doesn't even have his. And then when he gets it from or Lewis, I mean, when Lewis gets his from Jeff, he immediately puts it on as a little tube top. So I thought it was very cute. I also have a question about that. The actual buffs they're given on survivor. Are these any different than the buffs that they like sell because I have multiple survivor buffs and multiple buffs of different brands and things. And I've tried before and like, it's like hard to get it on as a tube. Like how is Brady even doing this? Well, I think he, they rigor well, I mean, no, I think that he's it's bigger now. Like I think you permanently stretch them out. So I think that listen, maybe he was a little bit of like lacing up a corset to get Brady in that thing. But yeah, they are. So I loved I love this solidarity as well, even though like no one's actually wearing it as a tube top. Like if you see all the women like have tops on. So they're not even wearing it in the way the buff fam doe that people typically would. But
listen, you know, I feel like a Toka has won what like ever said. No, they lost that last challenge obviously. But like, there's got to go. Went Street going on when they were wearing the bann days. And no, but your feet were players you don't want to do the like Camp Rock like coming in like you don't want to be doing that, that's cringe anytime. They ever do that. If you want to do a funny bit with your tribe, do something like this, and then just never mention it. You just do right. Yeah. And don't say anything agreed. Also here are pants pants. pants. If you were to vote for Pat, you would draw like a little doodle of pants on it. I mean, I'm actually mad that they didn't do that. That's they should have. It should have been a requirement. Okay. Let's move on to our actual yorks that we're going to be buffing, meaning we love it or snuffing, meaning get it out of here. We do not like this. Now, hidden magician of the season. Christian. I was going to say this would be my pick Mary of like
name everyone in the season. It's like, Oh, yeah, Christian. Christian is also here. I actually have two looks from him, both involving bow ties being the central theme. So if we talk about creative uses a buff, this is Christian using his buff as a bow tie, which I don't know if I've seen that before. I did it. And I want to say Christian might the other Christian might have also tried. I feel like this is our third instance of the buff tie. Is it a rule where if your name is Christian and you're on survivor, you have to wear your buff as a bow tie. Is that a wooden bow tie? Yeah, with musical notes on it. It's cute. Because I saw this one of clothes because he wore this to the event at the American dream. I'm curious if if he was able to like get marooned with that wooden bow tie. I wonder if the buff tie is around it. Oh, like he used it as a like a form. Yes, exactly to go around it. Yeah, I don't I actually don't even know how he managed to do this
of like where the fabric does it go around? Is it like on his stretch it around? Then you tie it like any tie, but it's not like, doesn't really. I don't see it. Or is it just like attached to like a button on a shirt somehow? Yeah, he like somehow fixed it. I don't know. Maybe I'm believing your theory, Mary, more and more that it's like actually just around his actual bow tie potentially. But anyway, Mike, you've seen at least the wooden bow tie in person. What are your thoughts on Christians? Looks here. Oh my God. Well, I have to buff this as someone who went through his own bow tie phase for a good portion of his professional life as professional as I can possibly be. Like you said, it's very rarefied air. You know, the people who have been able to wear bow ties on survivor have been fairly successful. And look, I don't feel like it's necessarily drawing any attention to Christian as like, my God, look how bookish she is from the bow tie that he has. A, because a wooden bow tie, it's just such an interesting idea to me. I don't really understand
it. And I don't really know if I like it to just wear a piece of wood across your collar. It certainly is unique in that way. And to be candid, besides like the comeback that he had on the puzzle in this episode, it is probably unfortunately the most memorable thing about Christians run on 51 so far. So for the buff placement, I will buff it. Mary, what about you? Yeah, I'm going to buff it also because I think that it is unique. That being said, I think he's fully embracing the look. I love the glasses, by the way, great, great glasses. But like everything about his look, including the button up, shirt, sweater, and the vest that we have seeing in all these pictures, like you're going for an archetype. And it's going to be hard to be in the allegations about that. Like you come dressed like this. I'm surprised that have we seen him on a puzzle yet? I'm just surprised. Yeah, the one you
didn't want to just one. Okay, he was on the puzzle in both challenges that just tried one great, because I was going to say, if you if you come dressed like this and you're not good at puzzles, people are going to be disappointed. So you're very much like setting yourself up for that. But I like the buff. Yeah, Christians, it's very it's very unt uniqueness. No, he do take nerve to wear this and talent with the puzzle. Yeah, I don't have the Christmas there. I guess in his lack of confession, that vest is so intriguing to me. The pattern makes me feel like it's in like your high school wardrobe from a production of the music man from like 2003. But also like I'm assuming if it's made out of the typical fabric that Vessor made out of, why would you bring that for multiple reasons out on the vest? It's cute. The archetype. Yeah, it's a little more in HR. This is not what's his archetype. It's a style. What is going on? Yeah, it's what he's trying to portray. Yeah, I don't like it. I'm snuffing this. I'm happy you both like it. It's not for me.
Okay, moving on. So now we do have to go back to Alia's look from the very first episode, because we didn't really get to talk about this first of all. The detail on the pants, yes, to me is absolutely fascinating. Like I love all the little fruits and all the little cherries and all that. Her shirt already unfortunately has a hole in it, but this sort of like faux crocheted number I think is very cute. And I think it's also very fun island vibes. For me, this is above. Mary, what do you think? I believe there's not a hole already forming? Yeah, she does already. No, look, is it the most sturdy? That's where her game started to unravel, much like this top. I feel like, look, I love that they get multiple outfits now. It's all great. Love that. I want you to wear your clothes down though, to wear at the end of the season. I can't even tell what color you started. Like that is the goal. I don't want to be on survive. And here's a thing. If I'm voted out in a week, I still need to look like I was on the survivor for a week. So buy the thin clothes. I want to see the holes form. I like this. I think this is really cute.
I am currently wrapping a short sleeve button up shirt because I feel like that is a design pattern that a lot of men get to rep and women like don't as much. And my shirt that I'm wearing much like when she is wearing are both like, I wouldn't call this cropped, but it like hits your waist as opposed to being like very long. You're not really tucking this into your pants. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Or to your lack of pants if you're patting. Yeah. I love this. I could not agree less. Now with your very daily employee Mary about the double standard with the top. But I am consistently inconsistent, but across over a decade of doing this, there's like one hard and fast roll that I've ascribed to. If you are in a game where you are starving on a day-to-day basis, do not wear anything with food on it. You are reminding people of what they are missing in their suffering. You are bringing about a negative perception of yourself because you
represent what they cannot have. I love it for the job that she has. I would say I'd maybe had rather the pants be cleavers and knives. Maybe that would be worse. But I just know if it's day five or six out there, I'm imagining cherries when I'm staring at her and dancing. It's like a moment where she turns into a cherry and you see Brady trying to take a bite out of her. Low energy, unfocused, foggy. You might be dehydrated. This is Carter's Huffy vest is sort of the central item that we're talking about here. And Mike explicitly mentioned the shirtless Huffy vest look. So Mike, how about you kick us off here? What do you think? This is the biggest buff of all buffs because he's in the buff right now. I love this look. I noticed it because it's the look that he wears when he goes over to Toka and stays there. Like he's rain waterlogged as he does it. And yeah, you see the more formal look at
tribal council when it has the shirt that he wears, the mirroring attached. But just the idea that he has first off the idea of, okay, everyone gets a warm item and Carter's like, I think a vest will be okay. Feels like the perfect way to describe his character. Like I think my arms will do all right, but I need to warm the chesticles, you know, so give me the puppy vest. And the fact that he is rocking the shirtless look with it is amazing to me. It's like Marty McFly was stranded in 2000 BC. And this is all he's left with. He wears it well. It's now like burned into my retinas because again, this is the look that's associated with all the shit that went down during the mutiny. And so I got to bump it because we very rarely see not only a vest on survivor because we just saw with Christian, but specifically this type of vest, you know, corn, wet, full soccer mom here. And I'll kick it with them.
Yeah, it's, I think for me, it's the fact that it's like a winter. You brought a winter vest to a tropical island. So what? But I actually, I do see that line of logic. I was initially thinking I was going to come in and snuff this. But I think I'm going to buff it just purely because it does. I think so beautifully encapsulate Carter's game so far. Right. Like this is the representative symbol of his chaotic doesn't really make much sense, but we're working with it kind of game. Mary, what do you think? In the first picture, is he wearing like sweatpants shorts? Like what are what are I even looking at? Okay. Here's where I have to snuff it. And it's because I snuff this in real life. I have a vest like similar to this. And I never wear it because there's never a time where my torso is cold, but my arms aren't. There's never a time when I'm like, because they're too puffy to then put a bigger jacket on top of. And so like, yeah, you could wear a fleece under it. But then why wouldn't I just wear like just the fleet? I don't, I don't think this is reasonable.
I never understand why people wear these in real life. And it's just not applicable to me in my lifestyle. I do think it's a good look like visually. It looks good. So I almost want to buff it just only like on Carter on survivor. But no, I'm going to I have to, yeah, 10 times down on there. I don't understand this look. I've never understood the winter puffy vest. I don't get it. I love the look on the right especially because it looks like he's like staring down a window, say it in R.E.I. the way that he's dressed. Yes, yes, exactly. He's outdoorsy, man. Look at him go. If this was the same color, same look, remove the puffy and turn it into like a fisherman's vest, that would make more sense to me. More fun. The first one kind of looks like it. I don't think it's a giant pocket pocket, but it kind of looks like it's a giant pocket pocket pocket. It looks like used to like it too. Why is your practical letter in there Carter? Oh my god Carter. Again, represents his game. No, isn't that perfect? No, like Carter would be the person to be like,
I got to bring something warm, but not something that covers my arms. That's Carter Crow, ladies and gentlemen. His arms run hot. Okay. Maybe that's what it is. Okay, let's move on to our next look. This is Jenna. I didn't even notice this in all the chaos of episode one, but she has this cute little crochet. I don't even know what to call it. A little grandma cardigan. Yes, it's a little gray. Yeah, it's a little grandma cardigan. It's you know, potentially hand crossed stitch with all the little flowers on it. I thought it was very cute and I didn't notice it, so I wanted to bring it up so we could chat about it. I love it. I think it a grandma look. I love it with like the athletic shorts. This is something that I definitely probably had my mom put on NEPER Easter in like fifth grade. I don't know. Like this is very much. Yeah, I feel like it's cute. I feel like with some high waisted jeans, this would be a cute look. As is on the island. A little confusing.
It's almost a shirt that almost I'm like, is this supposed to be tied in the back like the other way? I don't think it's like a small lock. I don't know. Yeah, it's it's um I uh I like that it's white because like I said before I want to get dirty by the end. It's very cute. I think it is one of the most impractical things I've ever seen on the island. It does look more like like cute girl got shipwrecked though. So I guess if that's what they're going for where it's like why would you be wearing this? It's a it's a very it's very brunchy to me, but I also feel like the pattern is giving a little I grabbed the table cloth. Yeah, it's not to make something out of it. So I admire the craftiness, but I understand maybe why she did. She made it. That's why I understand maybe why the initial perception of her was getting off on the wrong side. Maybe you look at this outfit and you're like, what are you doing? Who are you? So I think I might have to snuff it for how
enigmatic it is. It's the kind of thing that I would see in like an urban outfitters and I would similar to kind of Mary's point, I'd be confused as to how I'm supposed to wear this. So I wear a shirt underneath. Do I just tie it tight and and then it's good to go. Like I don't I don't really know how you wear it, but I mean, in some running shorts. There we go. Next, Mary, next race. Huh? This is your outfit. I'll put a bib on the back. You're gonna best blood. You'd win best dress. Hands down. There you go. I'm gonna buff it just because it's goofy. I would never wear this, but but it's hilarious. And I like Mary's point about it getting dirty over time. So we're gonna go ahead and buff it. Yeah, I'm gonna just snuff it for the impracted. I can't say impracting how it is. Impracted. Impracted. Impracted praise. I understand. Thank you. Yeah, sorry. Continue. Okay, our next is a series of looks perhaps it's. I will say I purposely kept Kristen's face and
Carter's little face in the background because they both absolutely made me laugh. So, or we you know, we talked about this. Mike mentioned it where the castaways are getting, you know, more clothes than just the set that they're initially marooned with. And I think that no person exemplified this better to me than Ori because we have a variety of sort of types of outfits. We've got a potentially honestly, Jenna style shirt, although a bit of a collar, some embroidery, short sleeve, Mary right up your alley, although on a man. So, you know, we also have one of the like rugby kind of hollow shirts. And then he's doing his best Carter handyman impression, if it's sort of outdoorsy, plaid-ish style jacket. So, this is like the ball right on drag race. Like we have to grade all three look exactly. What do you think of Ori's whole thing? Okay, so the first one I like the best, like it feels very beachy to me. You know, it actually feels very like white lotus of like I'm going out to dinner at the resort. And like because I'm a man, like I can just
get away with like a loose pattern with a light button down. And you think he wears it well. The second one I know that the two thousands are in and this is screaming 2002 to me, which is also kind of the style of gameplay that Ori takes his strategy from. I also though, I might snuff it because it looks like he buttoned it all the way to the top. And I cannot abide by that. Listen, I will absolutely admit that I am Mr. two few buttons. Even the first time I wore this shirt on this podcast, I am buttoned it one too many times. And it looked like I was way too open about things. To me, Ori looked a little too closed off, a little too prim and proper. Like this is not communion photos, buddy. Like let a button lose. Okay, jelly wants to see what's underneath there. The third one, you know, it does get a little hot at tribal council, especially in front of these the fire. So I am intrigued by his idea to seemingly roll up the sleeves on this jacket because it looks like
it's two sizes too small on him. Now, maybe he does want to appear to be that big figure. You gotta keep me around. Look, I'm so big. I can't even fit in my own jacket. So if I'm weighing all three looks against one another, you know what? I'm going to give it a buff because this does feel like there's incredible variety. We have the short sleeve. We have the long sleeve top. And then we have the jacket to boot. Though I also wonder, I guess going back to Eric's incompatibility with the weather, like how absorbent must this jacket be? Is it wool? It looks wool to me. It does. It does look like it is perpetually damp, you know, like it's never really going to dry out. So I like jelly is when she sees them. Am I right? Okay, let that fazement. Okay, for me, it's the variety that I love. I love the fact that he packed for all four seasons or all Fiji in four seasons, right? Like you do have that super light top, hopefully breathable. You got something when you're a little bit colder and then something when
you're really chilly and I it. So it's not really my aesthetic per se, but I like that it's very practical. So I'm going to go ahead and buff this. I'm getting it. I'm definitely buffing and I will say at least two out of three of these, the first and last like I own this, like I would love. I would wear this. This is me out there on Survivor. Yeah, unfortunately I am going to even though we also have some embroidered flowers on this one and to white shirt. So it's the two parts of genos that I liked, but with a more practical style. I believe that one is probably more of a jacket, but I routinely wear men's plaid flannel shirts as like a jacket sort of on top of things. They're not actually jacket material, but just sort of has like a second light layer. A fan of that. I don't think I have any rugby shirts, but it's a I think that that's a good look to be like it's not it's not quite the full like Christian, but it's sort of like I'm doing a preppy thing to like show some variety. Because maybe maybe that's the vibe that I want out here.
So I like all three of these and like you said, you know, transition state and night. Oh my god. Like 17 magazines taken it from date and I vary. The one qualm I have is there's a lot of collars happening here. What if you don't want a collar? True. But other than the collars, like pretty good. Yeah. And it's also how I got a necklace that I that I like in all of these. It is kind of weird that Orey seems to be the most button up guy of a size Christian, considering like his job as a personal trainer, which is like the most no color job. But I think that's the the idea, right? Like I'm surprised production let him wear this instead of being like, no, you need to wear like a tank top or something like that. I don't know. But but I do think that that's like kind of this idea of like look, I'm a big buff guy. So maybe like let me show some fashion that might lead people in a different direction. I don't know. Yeah. That's fair. Okay. Our next sort of cornucopia of looks is our favorite Brody Brady,
which Mike was originally was like, you got to pull his pants. We had to talk about his pants. Obviously the man who still has his pants. But I also noticed this card again as I was rewatching the episodes. And I did not note this. So I thought that it was absolutely necessary for us to talk about. So again, Mike, you have the floor. Tell us about this. So I'll start with the card again. Because this is the newer item to me, the more top of mind. I love how blocky this is. Like it kind of is representative of Brady in that it's just a bunch of random colors scattered about, but in very like specific patterns where you kind of know how it's going to occur even if it is random. It's giving guidance counselor. And I love it because I think that I do not want him to give me a sort of kindness as what's going on in this game. The pants I these pucked back up in my mind because I remember them from the cast photos, but I remember seeing them down on the beach in this most recent episode and they came back to mind for me. I do not understand. Like it's part genie. Like it's a little Kazam adjacent
to me. They're so baggy. I mean, we don't know if Lewis's pants are on here, but like he also has incredibly baggy pants. I don't know why we're doing that this season. I mean, I guess it's more comfortable, but also at the same time, we don't need the whole Westerlies blow in through your trousers. But the pattern is really what does it for me. It's the wallpaper you find in a three-star Japanese restaurant. Yes. And so I'm going to get some Nagasaki rolls and I'm going to give this above. That's like almost the pattern was the like survivor logo at first. Okay. Yeah, it's a little bit difficult to see with this photo. The their fans and his crotch goes down to about his knees. The drop is the drop. Yeah. I wasn't sure what the official term for this type of pants is because I just think of them as drop crotch pants. But so okay, if you raise the crotch up like a foot.
So that they're not they're still baggy and so loose, but not like that. My dad had some pants that we just always called his fun pants. We're basically this, but with a different pattern. And he wore them completely out to where I was like once I became an adult, I was like I got to get them some more of these fun pants. I hunted down and found the creator and I learned as I did this that they're they're like Rex Kwondo like they're like they're like Jim Bro pants technically. They're bodybuilder. That's what I'm looking for. They're like bodybuilder pants. Let me show you. I got him another pair. I bought myself some. I brought my brother some. Everybody has fun pants. But yeah, they they have more of just like kind of like a fun colorful pattern. I have to buff this just because once again, I basically own all of these. But besides the the jorts are the only part of any of this that I don't like because I just think jeans on survivors terrible. But like the color block cardigan literally have that love his again fun button up shirt. So and it's very
all of this is very pretty. I like how his button up or his cardigan matches his buff as well. Mm-hmm. And kind of the pants like there's similar color profiles throughout. I hate his pants. And I'm just imagining wearing them and constantly getting my crotch stuck on stuff. But don't ask questions. I just feel extra fat. I'm like stepping over things and I'm like crawling in places. I'm a mobile gal. I'm on the move. Okay, so I can't be having a snap my crotch on anything. I'm snagging my crotch left and right. So yeah, I can't I can't be having any of that. The cardigan I would wear. But overall and I don't really like the short sorry Mary. I know it's a short sleeve button up. But I'm a vibe. I do love that. The two the two colors on prettiest cardigan are also completely different colors as well. Yeah, I love it. Yeah. And there's like also like some if you look closely, it's a little bit difficult to tell in this small image. But
it's also like doesn't seem seamlessly sewn together anyway. So but I might fall apart Mary to your point. So it might be it might be team. It's hard to tell. It probably. All right, well our last I guess you could call it a look was also annoyingly requested by Mike Bloom. It is the thumb necklace because of course to see this. I have to again look at the thumb necklace. So as we talked about last week, this is something that Brady somehow managed to like I don't like then it made me start thinking about what actually happened to his thumb was he just like carrying it the entire time. Do they take it to Honda Rosa and hold on to it for him. But somehow he managed to get his thumb embedded in resin and make a whole necklace out of it. So yeah, immediate stuff. This is awful. And I hate even having to look at this. So I said medical put it in a bag and kept it. Is that what they said? Yeah. So according to because Jeff Cope does these like field notes every week on Instagram now. And I guess it's the new version of the on fire pod password. He like gives notes. I think
you said in last week said actually it was the art team that cast this in resin and made the necklace. Oh, what? Regardless. I kind of don't want the answer. But I'm confused. It's like because I did kind of close my eyes when this part of the episode was happening. I don't understand what part of the thumb this is. Oh, I'm confused. I thought it was like, oh, yeah, that's it. Oh, yeah. Underside, you know, I don't it does not important. This is a snuff. This is terrible. Is the worst thing it's ever happened ever? I hate it. Hey, look, if you if you're JT and you lose your tooth, fine, fine. Like a tooth necklace. People do that. Sharks teeth necklaces are things. This. No, I hate that I still have to look at this. Okay, quick, Mike. Buffer's not. Let's go. So I can get it off the screen. I am a big proponent of mental health and the idea of wearing your trauma. No, I love literalizing this idea of listen, I am stronger than the most painful moment
in my life. And you know what? I was able to, you know, withstand it so much that I wear it as a literal badge of honor. This is mirror. You're saying like people wear shorts. That this is all the time. Yes, people lose teeth. People don't lose pieces of their thumb. This is such a unique situation that I honestly think it calls for a unique piece of jewelry. And I think also this is once again, very Brady coded. Like remember Brady's one that says, Hey, Pat, can you pull an aerial and put this sucker in a seashell for me to put it on display? Not. Ow. Not. Oh my God. Hey, make sure it doesn't get too sandy. I want to save that sucker for a necklace later on. The fact that. And here's the other thing too. And I mentioned this last week, but this man had the audacity to apparently wear this to the premiere event at the American Dream. Listen,
the fact that he was able to be a walking spoiler on that night and nobody had a clue shows a level of surreptitiousness that we have not seen from this man in the past three episodes. I will buff it to thumbs up. Great. No, no, thank you, Mike, for making us all look at that. I will say that is not that he did wear it to the premiere. Like that's crazy. I would expect nothing less though. The more that we're finding out about him. For real. All right. Well, we are certainly not thumping our nose at the way we end each and every podcast here on the B&B, which is to divert the discussion to the outside world outside the realm of survivor and all the shenanigans there in we give our guest the opportunity to highlight a charity or cause that is important to them that they want the listeners to know about. Mary, the ball is in your court. I am going to go with a charity that I've most recently worked with, which was Big Brothers Big Sisters. And so if you are living
somewhere where you are able to support them as an adult being matched with a child or just they have a lot of events like in my town, we do a lot of like, bowling events where you get to hang out and also donate money and there's fun prizes and everything. So if that is something you're interested in, also really great cause for matching people and having good like mentoring relationships. I love that. And this is probably the only way that certain reality TV fans can tolerate survivor and Big Brother being in the same sentence. Yeah, exactly. All right. Well, the games do not stop here this season when it comes to the B&B because as I mentioned before, I have the great pleasure of getting to join Mary every week with the patrons a prop has a podcast for a brand new venture survivor game night. Mary, can you give a quick elevator as to what game night entails for the uninitiated? Are you someone who wants to compete against
other survivor fans and show off your knowledge in a variety of different style and themed challenges? Are you someone who wants to maybe even sometimes compete against Rob because he's played the last two weeks as well? And do you want to have fun and kind of like gear up for the episodes with me and Mike cracking jokes? There might be wigs. There might be shenanigans. You don't know Mike doesn't know because he wasn't there last week. Mike, check it out. You can go back and watch the tapes. But yeah, come to the survivor game night sort of like pre-survivor happy hour plus fun in games. And yeah, we Mike wasn't there, but this week we played a game all themed around three letter survivor players in honor of Anna being voted out in the previous episode. That one was quite quite hard and fun. And then we did sort of a little more easy fun game called Where's Mike? So you were asking about a very different Mike in terms of the edit. So you check
that out again, only for patrons of Rob has a podcast, which can become starting at the $10 month level. Not only perk that you'll get. There's many, many more. But if that's enough of an incentive, feel free to check it out. Usually around what like 715 Eastern Mary about like 45 minutes before the episode is when we usually check in. Yeah, join join around then and we'll get going and and chat a little about what we're excited about in the next episode and play some games. It's good time. All right, Mary anything else you'd like to plug for the listeners out there. You can check me out over on the Millennial TV podcast with Matt LaGoury where we are covering the very topical sweet life as Zach and Cody the early 2000s. And they were a rugby shirt or two, I remember. Yeah, what's your vent diagram between survivor and sweet life's Zach and Cody? I don't know, but it's actually we had someone on the episode who there was like an extra in the background who was contested on the on big brother.
So that we you never know you might see some survivor players. Hey, who? Who? Yeah, um, Diane was there. That's wild. I know it's crazy. This was after she was something brother. Maybe she was getting into acting the interesting time. Yeah, come come check that out for for a fun Millennial TV recap. Also, I believe, uh, I'm having a wrong here. Will you be at the Washington DC live show with our JP? I will be at the Washington DC live show this week. And actually, I also forgot to mention this week, we also have Love is Blind season 11 coming out. So I'm being Asian Jason will be talking about season 11. Can't believe it. When we asked Rob to cover the show on season two, we never thought there be a lot of season. So where are they? Where are they? This is Austin. Austin. No, Rob. You have to see the the men's cast photos, Mike. I recommend you should corner coach. Yeah,
that might be another. Yeah, Mary will not be here for game. Maybe that's what I'll do for my second game. The men's looks. We can check out everything that Leon and I are doing, whether it's the pal for Leonna, whether it's you know, all the ex-apress for me. Uh, again, I had two very delightful conversations with Rob and Pat for two very different reasons. Very much recommend. You check that out. And also, again, as always, we want to hear your game ideas. We've already gotten a couple so far for this season that we're just keeping in the hopper for down the line for a slow week. So this week is not slowing down or this season's not slowing down anytime soon. We will see what happens with this swap. Who ends up where with the dynamics are going to be. It seems like we're already in for some intriguing stuff between jelly and ore seemingly being reunited whether it's Maggie completely giving Mike nothing after he assuming he gives her nothing or whether it's the pure idea of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object with Danny killby and Eric Maxude. Only time will tell as to what pandemodeum will ensue next week. But we'll talk about it
here on the BNB special thanks to the entire team behind the scenes at RHAP for packaging this podcast for your eyes and ears and welcome America for his fantastic theme song Lee on and I will be back next week covering episode 4 this swap and everything there in until next time everybody will check you out at your next step.
