SpaceX Wins, Coastal Commission Apologizes for Political Bias

The Coastal Commission agreed in court docs not to factor in Musk's political views, speech, or even labor practices when making decisions on SpaceX. Operations This clears the path without admitting any wrongdoing. The Beast started when SpaceX wanted more Falcon 9 rocket launches from Vannebird Space Force Base up the coast from Santa Barbara. The Commission pushed back on a U.S. Air Force plan to ramp up those launches at the federal site. SpaceX head back with a lawsuit, saying the denial violated free speech and due process rights because commissioners disliked Musk's outspoken, politics. It painted the whole thing a straight-up discrimination against the company's leadership. In the deal filed Tuesday, the case gets dismissed for good, and the Commission won't demand a Coastal development permit for SpaceX's launch program. No one's owning up to liability on either side, and SpaceX reps haven't commented yet.
