This is an I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed Human Com slash cheers, this ETvr.com slash cheers. Can't find am 640. You're listening to the John Covell podcast on the I Heart Radio web. Hey, I just knocked over a water bottle. Somebody sent in some emergency paper towels so far. I'm coming. It's not affecting the equipment, but hold on. I Can't find am 640 live every way.

I got a spell and I'll five here. Only you, John. Yeah, cuz I've weighed my arms too much. I know. I mean, spoke this up. Man, I wish we were on YouTube right now. I know. All right. I at least I hit it right instead of left. Didn't soak the keyboard. I'm not sure about show KFI am 640 live everywhere on the I Heart Radio app. No live stream today on YouTuber X. Wife eyes down. The squirrel died. So. We've got nobody to run the conveyor belt. And we also we do have we do have the podcast though after six o'clock. John Covell show on demand. All right. So Deborah sent this to me yesterday and now there's a whole bunch of stories. There is a bus stop in the breadwood section of Los Angeles. It's in too far from where I live. The corner of a barrington and Wilshire.

I think this bus stop is the barrington stop on Wilshire. And you know the bus benches are built so you can't sleep on them. They put metal bars in the middle of the bench. So there's no way you could stretch out. It's too uncomfortable. So I mean, I mean last hour we told you about the massive typhus outbreak in downtown Los Angeles. Record number of typhus cases have hit LA in the last year and a half. So don't go downtown because the fleas that live on the rats. Where the rats eat the food in the homeless encampments. Those fleas have typhus and 90% chance you're going into the hospital. If the flea jumps on you and takes a poop. Well, it comes from the it comes from the rat species. I never knew that fleas poop on you. Yeah, they do. I didn't know that.

Yeah, and then it gets in little microscopic cracks on your skin. Or you might touch your arm and then rub your eyes. Next thing, you know, you have a typhus infection. It's just like living in the 1400s here. Now, in this case, this guy somehow climbed to the top of the bus shelter. And I don't know how he did that. It's a flat roof. It must be about 10 feet high over the seat. You have to keep out the elements. And he also got a shopping cart filled with all his stuff on the roof as well. Now, how do you do that? I mean, if he was really agile, I can see where he could grab the. He could grab his way up to the top. Because the side walls of the shelter are like partitions.

And there's spaces between the side walls and the roofs. You could grab your hand on the top of the partition. And I guess swing yourself up. I don't know how he did this. I mean, he had suitcases up there and it looks like a pillow. This is Tracy Parks district. See, and you call Tracy and she gets rid of this stuff. You don't get a lecture about the rights that the homeless have to sleep on the bus shelter and how it's cruel to make the move. Pete Brown says. They get calls all the time that they haven't had one like this. It's not uncommon to find homeless people around the bus shelter. But people started walking by snapping photos of the guy. That's all people do is they it doesn't matter. You know, you can have people. Somebody's bloody and dying on the sidewalk. Nobody will help the guy who's dying, but they will take your photo.

And then post it on social media. Of course. They don't know how long he was there. Now sanitation workers and cops arrived yesterday afternoon. They were worried about the shopping card because obviously he's nuts. So he could pick up the shopping cart and throw it at somebody. And he was cooperative, but not cited or detained by LAPD. See, that's where he should have been arrested. And that's where you say, look. We can't have you walk in the streets here climbing bus shelters with shopping carts. This to know you know, you're going to jail unless you go to treatment. Whatever your problem is, you go to treatment. He agreed to come down from the roof and gave up some of the items. Oh, but the final part of the story, he turned down homeless services. No, no, no, no. You turned down homeless services. You go to jail.

Which is what they do in most towns. If you don't take homeless services, whatever that is, you go to jail. Or you get out of town. Only solution. Nobody has a better one because they tried everything else. And they have spent billions of dollars. They stole about probably three quarters of the money. The other quarter of the money they spent on all these failed programs. None of it works. It's all a scam. Now, when we come back, we have rabid bats. There's been a breakout of rabid bats. In addition to the the tightest rats and the tightest the typhoid fleas, we got rabid bats and we also have venomous snakes. It is frightening out there. Stereifying out there. It's only in Los Angeles. You've mastered the classic wine regions.

Now discover a hidden gem. Oregon's toollatin valley. The closest wine destination of Portland in the Willamette Valley. Explore boutique estate wineries and sip world-class wines. Round out your wine getaway in toollatin valley with 18 holes in the lush countryside. Bring your sense of adventure and we'll introduce you to your new favorite destination. Plan your Oregon wine adventure at ETVOR.com slash cheers. This ETVOR.com slash cheers. You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM640. If I am 640 more stimulating talk radio, John Cobalt show. You can follow us on social media at John Cobalt Radio. Oh, moist line is friday. I forgot to mention that 877 moist 8677 moist 86 or usually talk back feature on the iHeart radio app. I'm being told by our news queen that this whole African viper venomous snake story is a fake.

Yep, AI. We have a 5 o'clock. Yeah, the guy who says he saw and took that picture has admitted that the picture was generated by AI and the report was false. Well, the LA Times went with it. We all did. We did the story here on KFI as well. A good boon viper. That's pretty good. That's a good prank. Supposedly has the longest fangs of any snake in the world and it was last seen sitting in a tree except there was no tree and there was no snake. Right. Wow. Yeah. Hey, the Times went through a lot of spent a lot of time describing it to horn like projections on its snout. Feeds on rodents and birds. And it holds on to its prey until it dies. Except it never existed.

Hey, I, John, I'm going to tell you there's going to be another John cobalt here one day and it's going to be a fake. Well, I wish he'd show up. Because I'm getting that jet lag feeling again. Oh, no, I thought you were fine. I'm better than yesterday. But I could tell I'm not. Poor John. I went to Italy for so long. The case thing in Rome. You know, how that wears you out. Well, all right. Forget the venomous state, but we still have the rabid baths. Yeah, those are real. And the typist from from the fleas. Not fake news. LA County has 69 rabid bat reports this year. Real rabid bats, not AI bats. By the way, Trump issued an executive order today. You know how he renamed the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario. He's now renamed artificial intelligence. Yeah, I did that when you were gone. That's story.

It's now super intelligent. Yeah. 69 rabid bat cases. And I didn't realize this. But yesterday was World Ravies day. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, we would have celebrated. We would have. Apparently rabid bat sightings have been going up in the county for more than a decade. 24 rabid bats were confirmed in August. A third of the bats submitted by residents in this county tested positive. Just in August. 68% found in the Santa Clarita Valley. And the Indian bats. And if you wake up, if you had, there's a bat indoors or you wake up with a bat in your bed. Wake up with a bat in your bed.

Yeah. It could be flying around and just maybe landed in your bed. I assume that you've had contact with the bat. Because it. Any kind of exposure. Even even brushes against you. You have a little bit of a scratch. Or you come into contact. Maybe you have a cut. Or your mouth or nose or eyes, anything at all. And you get the rabies. So we need a vaccine now. The rabies shots are terrible. They're terrible and they're really expensive. There was someone in my family. A bat brushed by him. And you would have believed the medical bill on that. Honestly, there was a medical. The bill for a rabies shot is $36,000. Wait, 36,000. Yes, I saw my own eyes.

Did you pay that? No, we it was one of those where you go back to insurance and say you got to be kidding. Okay. So they were they went and negotiated with the medical center. And I don't know if he came of it, but we didn't have to pay out. Beyond the deductible. Bat bites can be very small and may feel like a pin prick. And it can happen while you're sleeping. That's what I'm saying. So you can go unnoticed and health officials say anyone who wakes up with a bat in the room. Or finds one near a sleeping person or a child or a pet. Assume that you have been nipped. Or in some way that bats rabies can get into your into your system. That's terrifying. 17% of bats encountered by people in LA County have tested positive. And once the symptoms start, you're done for it.

There's no way to stop it. And it just gets worse. Why do we need bats? What what what are they? They kill insects. I don't know what every every remember Dr. Montu Davis. Uh huh. He was the County Health Officer during the COVID debacle. Well, he's uh, he's his heads popped up again and says bats are an important part of the environment. Well, I don't think so. I why don't we try no bats in the environment and see what happens. They always say that right. Every time you complain about some some horrible thing. Uh bats mosquitoes snakes. It's like, well, they're an important part of the ecosystem. You know, well, let's let's try a month without any. Let's kill all the bats. A batsman. That's where COVID started was in bats. They control insect pests, pollinating plants and dispersing seeds that we grow damaged forests. Oh, right. So we don't have forest unless there are bats.

That's why we need that. I don't why be could be could be because they eat the seeds and then they poop out the seeds. Yeah. And then the forest regor like I said, they eat insects. Yeah, it's a good. I don't know. I have tons and tons of mosquitoes and mosquito bites all over me. They're not well, then apparently I don't have any bats around me. They're apparently they're not eating enough mosquitoes or biting flies. Here's another bizarre story. A woman from Maryland. She's bartender. She's on an American Airlines flight to Miami. Um, there was a delay in lifting off and she started drinking. And then she fell asleep. Uh, but before she fell asleep, she took off her pants. And she started pleasuring herself, pleasuring herself while on the plane. On the woman.

I said, Eric, that's the wrong. I don't know what sound. That's around the wrong sound. What sound is a woman big? I don't know. So she took off her pants and started pleasuring herself on the flight to Miami. And then she fell asleep. And when they woke her up because some guy complained. A 61 year old male passenger complained. The woman in seat 9D had taken off her pants and was actively pleasuring while making inappropriate sounds. I'd complain too. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to see the woman. The woman on the hammer name of the story, 46 year old Katie Inzer. Katie Inzer and the flight attendant, Gabriel Barrero, went to her and said, put your pants back on.

She claimed she doesn't remember it. And the police said she had a strong odor of alcohol and she had bloodshot eyes. The departure from Baltimore delayed two hours, had a bunch of drinks and. It looks attractive. It's hard to tell because they had posted a photo of a baseball cap and sunglasses tattoo woman. That's a sign though. It is. Yeah. No charges against her. At least not yet. She's a divorced mom of several adult children. Well, they must be proud. They're so embarrassed. I'd you want to read the news and find out mom had taken off her pants. It was pleasuring herself on a plane. Making noises. If you're going to do that, you got to stay quiet. You know, that's what blankets are for. All the fun stuff goes on under blankets.

You know, you know, make us don't make us spectacles yourself. All right. You know, today, uh, uh, it's at ramen and bass having some kind of four and six o'clock. Six o'clock. Not a debate. Not a debate, but a form which we once stands up and spews nonsense. And the other one stands up and spews nonsense. Policode, I did a story which I, uh, I'll tell you about it. We come back. Um, the, the writer went into the palisades to see what palisades residents think. I don't know how this writer found any, but, uh, because you know, how many, uh, homes, uh, have, have been built in the palisades, uh, 49. I believe there was, uh, six, seven thousand that were destroyed. Yeah, 49. We'll talk about all this coming up and you'll see what the palisades residents who were wandering around the ruins, what they had to say about this mayoral race. You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM640.

KFI AM640. We're in stimulating talk radio. John Cobalt show rumbles on here. Uh, and, uh, we're, we have a podcast at six o'clock that we're going to release. It's the radio show. And, uh, we're also not live on YouTube in next today, not live because the Wi-Fi isn't working. Hopefully tomorrow. Yeah. Okay, sure. Uh, that's not your fault, but subscribe. Oh, you subscribe and become a member at YouTube dot com slash, uh, at John Cobalt show, right? Yes. You do dot com slash at John Cobalt show. Become a member of something that doesn't exist today. Well, there'll be a video that I post later. All right. We got, we got a short video that we put out. Uh, are you see L.A. No, it was you see Berkeley and the L.A. Times put out a poll that, uh, last week, we discussed this yesterday. We talked about the story of the sort of story that you see, that Nithya Rahman is ahead of carrying vast,

39 to 28, 11 points. But a third of the, third of the voters are undecided, and if you talk to most people, I, I would say, government workers who are in unions who appreciate that she gives them generous contracts. And ramen's following is the communists that live in the Northeast side of Los Angeles, you know, the Silver Lake, Los Feliz area. That's her strength. And the people who don't know who she is. If you know what ramen stands for, she's a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Go and read their platform online, Democratic Socialists of America, Los Angeles. I think it's DSA LA. Just type that into Google. You'll find the website. You go read it yourself or keep listening to the show because we'll be covering this plenty over the next month.

And political did a story. They went to the palisades, somebody named Liam Dylan to talk to palisades residents, the few that are still left because like I said, you know, only 49 homes have been completed in the palisades. Politico analyzed city data. I don't know if that's true or not. We go there several times a week to go on a hike. I don't know where the 49 homes are. Maybe just not on the route we take. But Alte deen it has more than three times as many homes that that bird. And there was a similar number. They were both six to seven thousand, I think. So Alte deen is over 150 homes. Palisades 49 because the pervading process has been excruciating. They slow yes, I know it's picked up some but really after 19 months, 49 with another

6,000 to go. What's the math on that if they if they do 49 homes every 18 months, how long is it going to take to totally rebuild the palisades? It's political went and interviewed people in the streets. They most of them don't like ramen. This is big Spencer Pratt territory. Pratt had a majority of the votes in the palisades. Bass was second with only 18%. Ramen actually finished fourth behind a tech entrepreneur named Adam Miller. And he lived in Brentwood. So he was kind of his home territory there. Yeah, ramen did terribly because she never showed up. Eventually bass came around to doing something. Even Rick Caruso said she eventually became helpful park.

Tracy Park has said she became helpful. But ramen has offered no help at all. 19 months didn't show up. So she's got no votes. She's got no votes in the palisades unless you don't know anything about her. I tell you though, some of the residents are wacky. That got him careful here because you know, I know a lot of friends who used to live in the palisades. So I don't know who knows who. But there's this woman here, Jacqueline Calavan. And she showed up at a nithia ramen appearance. And they started asking questions about to ramen about her weird belief system. And she asked ramen about defunding the police. And Calavan said the issue matters to her because it took officers hours to show up after she called 911 because there were trespassers outside her home. There's a lot of thieves that have been making their way through the palisades and they're

stealing the construction equipment. And she thinks ramen's election would make matters worse. Yes, that is correct. And I find this curious about people who ask candidates questions like this. What do you think they're going to say? Because ramen was asked about defunding the police and she admitted she used the phrase before but emphasized that she voted for multiple budgets that expanded the police force. I am not anti police at all. Well, why would you say we have to defund the police? Like adult candidates don't say that. Like Rick Caruso never said that. Expense or Pratt never said that. Never came up. In fact, until 2020, I never heard candidates say defund the police. That wasn't a thing. This was out of the left wing hot house of ridiculous phrases and absurd concepts.

Nobody ever did this. And then you say you're defund the police. You say that loud in speeches in public. You put it in writing and then you say I'm not anti police. What do you think I'm stupid? You think I'm as stupid as you are? If you say defund the police, it means you don't want police around. Now that's not possible. That's not a town I want to live in. A city I want to live in. A state I want to live in. We always need more police. You know, if we have, you know, we should have 12,000 police according to the police chief, Jim McDonald. If he thinks we should have 12,000, I want 15,000. I want extra police. I want to see police walking around all the time. I want to see as many police as I have to see homeless people every day. Tired of this. And they talk themselves in circles and they have their answers scripted and rehearsed

with their idiot political consultants. Are there advertising gurus? They say no, they don't stop talking circles. Stop it. Go home. You shouldn't be running. She's, by the way, just to remind everybody, I don't think I said yesterday, she's the fake candidate. Spencer Pratch should have been in the number two slot. She got in because she had all those drugged out zombie homeless people vote for her. With that ballot harvesting nonsense. Okay, so she's a fake candidate and she got fake votes. What else was she asked about at this town hall meeting? Oh, you voted against against banning homeless encampments near schools and daycare centers. Why? What you did, she did. This supposed to be 500 feet, 500 foot barrier between the homeless encampments and schools and daycare centers and she voted against that.

And she goes, well, it's better to offer homeless people shelter and resources. Why? Yes, give them shelter and resources and they can't live within 500 feet. In fact, they shouldn't be within 500 miles of a school. Which one, it's not a choice. It's not sheltered resources or an encampment in front of the school. It's, give them sheltered resources, but no encampments at all. It's nonsense. And yeah, I guess most, most of the public is not sharp enough to have that as a response. Because the idea that there should be homeless encampments in front of schools is the idea of a crazy person, a crazy person like the fund the police. This is a concept that never existed in our civilization for the first 250 years of America.

Nobody ever said, hey, it's okay for encampments in front of a school homeless people. You know, drug addicts and mental patients and child molesters and gang members. And nobody ever thought of that. Now she's saying, well, it's okay. The fund the police banning homeless encampments. See, what other nutty ideas? You identify as a democratic socialist. What does that mean? Now listen to this answer, okay? Ronin said there's a lot of gaps when you have a system that is defined by profits. I believe in a big progressive government that is stepping in and filling the gaps. That's gibberish. Gaps and what? You're filling the gaps with. What are the gaps? And what are you filling them with? What do you mean defined by profits? What are you talking about? I can't even, I can't even diagram this sentence. I can't interpret this.

Maybe I'll send this into chat GPT and see if it understands it. Apparently I'm too stupid to understand the wisdom of Nithia ramen. Going back to Jacqueline Calavan, who asked one of these questions. She chose Bass in the primary because she was the lesser of all the evils at the time. Really? She was the lesser, like Spencer Pratt was a greater, what is Spencer Pratt's evil? He wanted to get them off the streets. People bring this on themselves. When we come back, we are going to have a salad break. A comma Harris word salad. I haven't had one for a few weeks. Well, what Nithia ramen said can kind of go in that salad? She is the successor to Nithia to Kamala. Yes. I hear her talk and it's like, wow, this is like Kamala's daughter.

If Nithia ramen becomes mayor, we are going to have a feast of Nithia ramen nonsense word salads. I literally don't understand what the woman says when she talks. And I got one of those from Kamala. She made a comeback with on a podcast. That's a cool thing about all these podcasts is Kamala's got nothing to do. So she gets invited all the time and she can do it from her home, right? It's really easy and that she gets on for an hour and makes those sense. Host is thrilled, right? They just sit there and let her talk because they know they're going to get hits anyway. And Kamala is going to say something ridiculous and it's going to get clipped out and it's going to go over social media. Well, we've got one of those. Move come back. Thus ETVOR.com slash cheers. You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM640. KFI AM640. Poor stimulating talk radio. The John Cobalt show. We have no live stream today on YouTube or X because the Wi-Fi is down. We're doing construction here. We're going to be moving to New Studios down the hallway someday, which are actually our old studios someday. Someday, some year. Voice line though, that's going to be running on Friday. Even if the Wi-Fi is down, the voice line will work. 877, voice 86, 877, voice 86 are usually talk back feature on the I Heart radio app. And as I was saying, we haven't had a Kamala Harris word salad in a while. She went on some random podcast and she talked for a long time and the host just sat there

and every once in a while went, mm-hmm. And the whole time, I'm listening, oh, what is this? I need like subtitles. I need somebody. Sometimes I think I've had a stroke because I see her mouth moving like Nithya Ramins mouth moving. And I hear the words, but I can't figure out what it all means. And I'm thinking, well, maybe I've had a stroke. Maybe this is what it's like. Where you hear the sound and it seems familiar, but now you can't process it anymore. All right. So here it is. This is something about destiny and legacy. Maybe you can figure it out. Sounds big for myself. None of us achieve success without that level of profound support and reinforcement. Yes, yes. Right? Around not only a memory of legacy and the path on which you stand that was charted long before you, but also giving you some sense of pride in what can be the destiny and was the destiny that so many fought for. Yeah.

Right? Yeah. I'm nothing to add. Did you get it? I did not. What does she think her destiny and legacy is to become president, the first female president of the United States? He played again. Sounds big for myself. None of us achieve success without that level of profound support and reinforcement. Yes. Right? Around not only a memory of legacy and the path on which you stand that was charted long before you, but also giving you some sense of pride in what can be the destiny and was the destiny that so many fought for. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't understand. Yeah.

She's saying she's going, yeah, as if this is really profound. I don't know. How do you do that? Like I couldn't do that even to do a parody. I wouldn't be able to pull it off. No, I bet you could. No, I can't. I could. But she does it naturally. It just goes. Oh, yeah. Right. She doesn't natural. Is she, do you think she's stoned? Dumbassie think. I don't know. Brownies. Something. Shard nay. If she'd run for governor, she'd be leading candidate. Well, she's going to run for president. Oh, I know. I know. But president's tough because there's a lot of other contenders. And she's already wiped out twice. But governor, she would have wanted a breeze. She has her, she has her eyes on a higher, a higher power, a higher destiny.

A higher, higher legacy. And I'm sorry, she didn't run because Biserra is kind of a dud. It is. He doesn't talk. But she would have been out there every day. That's a lot of lost material. Thank God for these podcasts so we can stay in touch. We got more coming up. Debra Mark is live in the KFI 24 hour newsroom. You've been listening to the John Cobalt show podcast.
